We cannot recommend The Morehead Inn enough for a wedding or special event! From the very beginning, the planning process was incredibly easy, and the team made everything we envisioned come to life. A special thank you to Brooke, whose excitement, responsiveness, and guidance were a huge part of why we chose this venue. She was wonderful to work with and helped bring our vision together seamlessly.
One of the biggest advantages of choosing Morehead Inn is how seamless they make the wedding planning process. Their catering partner, Something Classic, was absolutely amazing, and the bartenders and event staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They also make day-of rentals, such as linens and other event details, incredibly convenient, which took so much stress out of planning.
The venue itself is also absolutely stunning. We knew from the moment we walked through the doors that it was something special. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the greenery provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding.
Having our family stay at the inn was such a convenient and memorable part of the experience. Everyone loved their rooms and said they felt like royalty. On the wedding day, we had over 30 people getting ready on-site, and the staff was incredibly accommodating to every need. We felt so welcomed and cared for throughout the entire weekend. We especially want to recognize Hannah for her help with check-in and day-of support.
The delicious breakfasts each morning were another highlight and truly added to the overall wedding weekend experience. Every detail exceeded our expectations, and we are so grateful we chose Morehead Inn for our special day.

The Morehead Inn did an excellent job for our recent brunch. Brooke made great recommendations, communicated well and made sure every detail was covered in advance. Carol, Mary and Diamond executed beautifully the day of ensuring that the room was beautiful, the food was excellent and the service exemplary. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding this month at the Morehead Inn, and it was such a dream. Logistically for us, it was so convenient because it's in the center of Charlotte - so easy for traveling guests via airport, and about a 5 min drive from where we live. It's not at all busy like you'd expect, but quiet and tucked away from the city.

It's unique, and is exactly what I wanted in terms of not having a rustic barn wedding, and it really only needed minimal decor as everything there was so ornate and full of character. They offer the unique opportunity to rent the entire Inn for the weekend to really take advantage of spending time with family and bridal party leading up to the wedding. We LOVED this.

The staff is lovely, and so helpful. Brooke Parker works as the event director there, and was there to help us with all our logistical questions and catering/rental questions. She is AMAZING. So kind, and obviously really enjoys her job there. She was attentive and together with my coordinators, they made a dream team in making my vision come to life.

Something that I didn't really consider as I first started my search for venues was what is offered along with just the basics of a venue. The Inn has a catering service - Something Classic, that they work with exclusively, as well as a bartending service. This may be an annoyance to some brides but I found it extremely helpful because it eliminated my searching for extra vendors. Both vendors were amazing, and the catering was actually delicious. I really could go on and on but to keep it short, I can't reccomend the Morehead Inn enough as a wedding venue. You will not be disappointed!

We had our wedding at the Morehead Inn. All of my bridesmaids and some family stayed for our wedding weekend. The breakfast each morning was delicious! The staff was so friendly and helpful! This is the perfect venue to get married!

The Morehead Inn was the PERFECT venue for our wedding!! I cannot say enough great things - As we had a smaller guest count and were looking for an already beautiful space that didn't need much decor, this place instantly caught our eye. We also loved that the Inn was located in such a central location! Our favorite thing was that we were able to stay on location with immediate family & friends, which made a world of a difference especially on our wedding day!

The venue and events director Brooke was absolutely amazing, and we cannot thank her enough for everything she did to help make sure our wedding day was perfect! The service during the wedding was also great! Honestly no complaints & if you are looking for a beautiful venue with great service - you must check out the Morehead :)

Our wedding weekend at the Morehead Inn was magic! We secured the entire 12 rooms at the Inn for Friday night through Sunday which gave our immediate family members a chance to leisurely visit in a quality way. It was like having a huge house all to ourselves through the entire weekend.

The atmosphere, food, service, and support were stellar. From the planning phase through execution, Brooke exceeded expectations in every way. She was available, responsive, patient and an absolute gem to work with. Matthew, Sarah and all the support staff at the Inn were attentive to our every need. The wait staff at the reception dinner were so professional and we had many compliments on the food which was fantastic- very rare at weddings.

From the Welcome Party on the patio on Friday evening, rehearsal dinner in the private dining room, the ceremony at the fireplace, to the cocktail hour on the patio off of the tearoom-- the Inn accommodated our needs perfectly. Our first look was in the gorgeous library. The character of the Morehead is beautiful, but the grand staircase for the bridal and newlywed entry truly enhanced our event.

We had 57 people at the wedding which was the perfect size for the inside ceremony and dinner (we didn't want to rely on the weather for an outside event). The Morehead is masterful at flipping the room with no problems whatsoever. I was concerned about the dance floor being separate from the dining area, but it actually gave guests a place to relax and get a break from the music. We chose a checkerboard dance floor with a beautiful Montgomery bar which enhanced the architectural details of the Inn.

If you want a gorgeous, classic, intimate, southern venue full of character- then the Morehead Inn is your place. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful event. Thank you Morehead Inn!

The Morehead Inn is southern charm, mixed with elegance! Brooke is so professional and went above and beyond making sure our wedding day was everything we wanted and more. I could not recommend this place enough! 10/10 experience from start to finish!

We recently had our 60-person wedding at the Morehead Inn, and the exprience was nothing short of incredible! The entire planning experience with the Inn was easy and stress-free thanks to the Brooke with the MHI. Brooke is responsive, attentive, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Her and the team at the MHI made our wedding day as smooth as possible, and even executed a flip inside the main room during the night for our dinner. The Inn itself is stunning, and we received so many compliments on the building, catering team, and rentals that were coordinated with the Inn. If you are looking for a venue of this size, we HIGHLY recommend the Morehead Inn!

We recently had our 60-person wedding at the Morehead Inn and have nothing but amazing things to say about it. First off, Brooke - their events director - is incredible at her job and a lovely person to work with. We had no worries about the day thanks to her and the Morehead team and the venue was unbelievably beautiful and well prepared for our event and guests. We’re so happy we chose the Morehead Inn for our wedding.

Brooke was amazing to work with and I highly recommend her! She made sure our wedding (both ceremony and reception at the inn) was perfect, and we loved the added benefit of all catering and rentals were streamlined through her, making it easier on us. The venue was the perfect size, as we had just under 100 people, and it was an really nice to have our family stay on-site the entire weekend. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the venue, the food, and how the staff was super accommodating!

We loved having our wedding at the Morehead Inn. Beautiful rooms with indoor and outdoor spaces for the event. The staff is wonderful and makes planning easy and fun. You book all the rooms for your wedding weekend, which was really fun to stay with some of the guests. Perfect for weddings with around 120 guests or less! We had 103 and there was plenty of space for both a Friday rehearsal party and Saturday wedding. Highly recommend for a Charlotte wedding!!

As a wedding planner, The Morehead Inn made the process and day of so easy! The venue coordinator, Brooke, was so easy to work with, highly communicative, and incredibly helpful on the day of. It's so convenient that they have rooms for the wedding party to stay in overnight, and the location is close enough to the city for stuff to do while being secluded enough that it's quiet. Highly recommend!

I hosted a bridal shower at the Morehead Inn for my daughter and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. Brooke Parker was our events director and she was very responsive and accommodating. Both the food and service were great. We especially enjoyed the coziness and overall ambiance that the venue offered. We had breakfast in the Tea Room which looked out into the courtyard and were able to move outside to the garden area to take some beautiful pictures. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a more intimate cozy place for their bridal shower, baby shower, wedding or whatever.

The Morehead Inn delivered the wedding of our dreams—I can’t say it much better than that! We toured a few venues in Charlotte, with Morehead being our last stop. Let’s just say we were blown away. Despite having held a wedding the night before, the team had laid out a sample table and table setting for us to see, and took us on a full tour of the public spaces and private rooms. You can rent the inn for an entire weekend, including the guest rooms, which is what we did—and it was a fantastic experience for us and our wedding party and family who stayed there. Having all of our VIP’s right there was wonderful, and they got to enjoy the beautiful guest rooms and hospitality of the Morehead. Their team delivered on every level—from big tasks like elaborate room flips to the tiny details, like bringing up snacks and cider to our grandmother who has limited mobility. The absolute care and joy that the team brings to their work was clear in everything they did.

We have to give the biggest shoutout ever to Brooke, Venue & Events Director, who was our point of contact. From the first tour to the end of our wedding night, Brooke was there with us. I think we sent her about a zillion emails and a trillion questions, and she answered them all with speed, kindness, and know-how. She is an asset to the Morehead and truly made our experience so special and personal. You can tell that she loves her work. When we realized we hadn’t brought firewood for our after party around the fire pit out back, she went above and beyond and had her team go out and get some—the smores around the fire pit were an incredible end to the night.

The Morehead Inn’s catering partner, Something Classic, did an incredible job as well. Hannah was our bartender and breakfast server as well as general rockstar, she brought such a lovely energy to the event! Every bite of food we had was delicious, and their menus had so many great choices for us to select from. We loved how flexible they were with drinks as well–we were able to do signature cocktails, which our guests loved.

The decor and design of the Inn itself are beautiful—classic, with a touch of flair. This means that all of our photos turned out especially pretty, because the backdrop of the inn is so gorgeous. We got married in December, and the Inn had lovely Christmas decor that was timeless and beloved by our guest—many photos were taken under their Christmas trees!

Brooke and the Morehead want to bring your vision to life—and they clearly love to throw beautiful, imaginative, special, intimate events. We had an incredible time (and so did our guests) at the Inn.

We truly cannot recommend them enough—visit, and you will see why!

Our daughter got married at the Morehead Inn in June of 2023. It was the most beautiful, perfect day! I am still receiving calls and texts about how beautiful and seamless it all was. And everyone raved about the food! Said it was the best they ever had at a wedding ! (The chicken skewers with pickles and honey mustard and the beef medallions are worth every penny!!’).
Brooke is the venue planner and she is whole heartedly INVESTED in making the bride’s day perfect. She calmed this momma’s nerves down several times over the year long engagement and assured me everything would be perfect. And it was!
Brooke will meet with you or talk to you over and over until she knows you are happy. And she does it all while smiling!
They say the venue planner is just out for the venue. Not Brooke! She even cried with us!

This was a terrific place to have our wedding. We loved it! The setting was beautiful inside and out. The staff was personable, attentive and friendly. Our guests were pleased as well. Everything went so smoothly. Dorrys , the event planner was easy to work with and very accommodating to our needs. The caterer was great with several selections of food to choose from.

The venue was amazing. Dorrys knocked it out of the park. The evening was perfect. It was all planned to a tee. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Great location. Great service. Rooms are so cute. Price was affordable.

Can't say enough great things about the Morehead Inn! It's beautifully decorated and has abundant indoor and outdoor space. We held our wedding reception here and were blown away at every detail - the rooms were incredible, the food was delicious and the staff was so kind and accommodating. We rented all the rooms in the Inn and were able to extend the wedding well into the night - such a unique and awesome perk to the space! We'd highly recommend anyone choose this venue!

Recently moved from LA to CLT and decided to after 3x of postponing our wedding in California due to covid, to relocate it to CLT.
We stopped by in March and met with the amazing Dorrys, and instantly fell in love. Planned a 52 person wedding in 2 months and had the most amazing time. Guests could not stop raving about the food, inn, and overall experience. The night ran smoothly, was even better than we imagined and the entire night was made possible by Dorrys and the team. There are no words to explain how grateful we are we stumbled across the inn and went with them. Highly recommend renting the rooms out, after the wedding was over we had free reign to roam and hang out by the fireplaces and just unwind. I’m so sad the day is over but if I ever need a venue for a brunch/special event or maybe even a staycation - you bet I’ll be here! 10/10

It was a once in a lifetime experience. I am the groom’s mother and he is an only child. I wanted this event to be unforgettable and the Morehead Inn helped me make my dream a reality. I can’t say enough about their coordinator and their staff. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The staff of the Morehead Inn and Dorrys McArdle, who handled the arrangements for our three-times postponed Wedding Celebration, were fantastic! Their flexibility and can-do spirit actually made the whole experience enjoyable...working together to have “the plan come together,” to quote the original Mission Impossible television show! Plus, The Inn and the rooms, which we have rented out for the weekend, are beautiful...

Having my wedding at The Morehead Inn was a dream come true. From my first encounter with Dorrys and the initial tour I was blown away. The Inn is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need for an intimate wedding. Dorrys was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. She was kind, professional and responsive. She had great ideas and was always open to let us stop by for a quick chat or to ask questions. I thought planning during a pandemic was going to be stressful but it was a breeze. Dorrys was always informed on the latest mandates and everyone made our guests and I feel comfortable the entire stay. The food was AMAZING! We chose appetizers from the catering menu and it was absolutely delicious. There were option for some amazing food and it was very hard to choose! The staff from the catering company was great and there was plenty of food and drink for the night. If you are thinking about booking The Morehead Inn then do it, you will not regret having this unique and memorable venue.

I felt like I was staying in a palace. The residence was amazing and the staff were so polite and helpful. The area was so beautiful and when I woke up in the morning it felt like an episode of freaky Friday, as if I had switched places with a prince. The house was stunning and being able to walk around and enjoy everything the property had to offer was a different experience I had never encountered before. 10/10 would recommend.

Dorrys and the Morehead Inn were our 2020 wedding angels! We wanted a venue that would accommodate a smaller wedding size but still feel special and romantic (our original venue was a huge ballroom that would have felt empty with our downsize from 160 to 29 people). From the second I reached out to Dorrys- about 90 days before the wedding- she was warm, friendly, flexible, responsive, and just everything we needed. We were so lucky that our original wedding date became available, and we were able to have a GORGEOUS wedding that actually had some elements I had originally sacrificed for a bigger wedding (hello beautiful staircase!) The atmosphere is elegant and romantic, the food is amazing, the staff are beyond friendly and professional. My husband and I could not believe how much our COVID friendly wedding still felt like a "normal" wedding, and it is all thanks to The Morehead Inn. We will be back for our anniversary every year if we can!

We chose the Morehead Inn for our wedding and reception venue on September 26th, 2020. Our wedding was an absolute dream!
Dorrys is the Inn's event coordinator, and she was very easy to work with. Our original wedding venue in Charleston, SC closed unexpectedly, and we had to recreate our entire wedding in two short months. Needless to say, we needed flexibility, and Dorrys went above and beyond to work with us and our budget.
Everything about our wedding and reception went off without a hitch. Dorrys and our day-of wedding coordinator stayed in constant contact with each other and with us to make sure everyone stayed on the same page.
The food was catered by Charlotte favorite Something Classic. It's been a month and our guests are still raving about the appetizers and the dinner they provided. The bar and wait staff were professional and attentive, also.
As for the Inn itself, we loved it so much that we reserved all 12 rooms for guests. There were beautiful and unique rooms for pictures and for the bride and groom parties to get ready on the wedding day.
If you are planning a wedding in Charlotte, NC, do not overlook this gem!

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with the Morehead Inn. Ashley was an absolute dream to work with. She made the entire process so easy and pleasant from start to finish. She listened to my description of how we wanted our wedding to look and feel and went over and above to make that happen. It could not have been more perfect and I can’t thank her enough. Even when we were dealing with the possibility of rain she gave us all the options and let us know we had the final say so. There was never any pressure or stress through the whole process. Chef Myra was absolutely perfect. We wanted to do something a little different and she jumped right on board. She had so many great suggestions and the food was absolutely fantastic. You don’t often say that about wedding reception food but I’m still getting messages about how great the food was! Every staff member that worked there was so friendly and warm. They made my family feel just like we were staying in their personal house. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing! I will recommend the Morehead Inn to anyone looking for a venue that gives you that personal attention and intimate feeling.

I married there and my daughter married there 24 years later and it was a great, personal , accommodating experience each time. It was a wonderful experience and amazing value.

I have nothing but great things to say about the Morehead Inn. The staff is so helpful and great at what they do. The venue itself is gorgeous, southern, elegant, cozy, and welcoming. The food was amazing as well. I am so glad I chose to spend one of the most important days of my life there!

The Morehead Inn is a very elegant, unique and charming wedding venue, and every staff member we encountered went over and beyond the call of duty to provide us with amazing service.
I have never been to an event, venue, inn or dinner where the service could even be compared to what they delivered to us. They were so personable, helpful, and attentive to anything we needed throughout the weekend, while also keeping us safe with their Covid precautions.
We had a wedding ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner at the Inn with the wedding party and family staying in the various rooms. It was a perfect layout for the bridal party and groomsmen to have their own separate areas and made for the perfect backdrop for beautiful getting ready photos.
Dorrys, the Inn’s event coordinator was wonderful to work with and jumped through hoops and quoted, planned, and helped us pull off our vision for a rehearsal dinner in just a couple of hours four days before the event!
The food was amazing at each event and all of our guests raved about the food and service.

I had a Sunday morning wedding at the Inn and it was perfect. Dorrys helped me plan for my big day and responded to each of my emails quickly. The Morehead Inn provides the caterer, but everything else was up to me. This gave me a huge amount of flexibility and allowed me to have a low budget wedding that was still incredibly beautiful.

The Morehead was the perfect wedding venue for us. Absolutely stunning and had a true southern vibe. The staff was amazing and they are incredible at getting every detail just right. My only complaint is how slow their sales person is to communicate but once your wedding date is closer you work with an event coordinator that stays in close contact. Their pricing is unbeatable for what you get and we did a filet and crab cake entree and everyone was so impressed with the food! The Morehead Inn is the best of the best in Charlotte!

Billy maddalon did not care one iota about what went on at his establishment on my wedding day. Everything provided by the facility was messed up, not there, or inadequate with the exception of the food which was fantastic. It took us months to get in contact with billy and he did refund us because he had no choice when presented with the facts. Do not recommend.

Although we LOVED this venue and our wedding was amazing, I would not recommend this venue to a friend. The staff turnover is high, so while planning our wedding a lot of things got lost throughout their changes. Since our original wedding coordinator left the business and we were NEVER informed, our new coordinator was extremely unorganized. If you book this venue, take your own notes, read their contracts well, and be as present and evolved as you can! On the more positive, the rooms are cozy and adorable. The venue is unique, welcoming and beautiful. The food was AMAZING and they did work well on customizing our menu.

My experience with MHI was by far the biggest disappointments I endured as a bride. I do not want another couple to have to go through what we went through with them. MHI was recommended by my wedding Planner, Angela, who told us that they would accommodate our every need.
On Jan 15th we finally received an email from their new Coordinator, Kaylie, who said that the Chef would be ready to provide us a tasting on Feb 4th, a month late. She said that we have to rent them a fryer, would NOT allow any outside catering & would have to pay for each of our tasting; which was not stated on the contract. I went back for 4 tastings and the dishes finally came out decent but far from the traditional flavors.
April 4th was the date that the final head count was due as well as the remaining balance. The invoice amount was wrong & it showed us being charged for the tasting. Angela she said that she would consult with Billy and Kaylie. We agreed to make the pymt on April 8th even though we didn’t agree with the amount we were charged for. I emailed Kaylie that morning and said that my fiancé would call her with the cc #, which she told us was ok. By midday, we received an email from Kaylie who said that Billy told her to tell us that they would no longer take our credit card and that the only form of pymt he would accept would be cash or cashier’s check or our event would be cancelled. The next day he sent us a threatening email demanding cash and that he would take us to court b/c we breached our contract by cancelling our event. We reminded him that he was the one that said our event would be cancelled if we didn’t provide the other form of payment and because of his nasty behavior; we did not want do business with him anymore. On April 10th he ran our card w/o notifying us and told Angela that we could still have our event there. We were livid that Billy charged our card after he cancelled our event and demanded we pay him in cash.
