    Old Hollywood Glam Dream Wedding

This hotel, its staff, and the overall experience was phenomenal. They treated us like royalty on our special day, and it was a great value for the price we spent considering it was an all inclusive event. We waited until they were decorated for Christmas to add to the flair of our event, and I am so glad we did. 12 Christmas trees lined the already stunning vast lobby of the hotel, and every single one of our guests was able to get great holiday photos.

    Gorgeous Venue

The ballroom with the balcony was simply amazing. Fit all 300 of our guests comfortably with enough space for a band, dj, and dance floor. Staff was incredibly attentive. Filet mignon was AMAZING.. definitely recommend. Most guests that stayed at the hotel in our room block had a great experience as well.

    Breathtakingly Magical

December wedding at the mayflower has got to be the most beautiful thing in the world! All our guests raved about their experience and the Bride (me) was even more impressed! Very accommodating to everyone. Everything went perfect!

    Best Venue

My husband and I had looked at so many venues before finally going with The Mayflower. Not only is it a GORGEOUS venue, but the staff there made everything run so smoothly from the hire date until the very end of the reception! Would definitely recommend!!

    The Mayflower Wedding Dream

The first time we visited The Mayflower Hotel, we knew we finally found our venue. It is elegant, historic, charming, classic - all in one. Better yet, a great part of our experience was dealing with the Staff. Liliana, who was working with us on contract, was very patient and kind while we sort our Church date. Rebecca and her team helped us a lot with planning, and making our vision a reality. Everyone, including other hotel guests, were sweet and cordial. Even with the other events at the hotel, we were a priority. We didn't have to compete or request attention because they made sure we were treated special. Our wedding night was truly a dream come true for us.

    The Most Dreamy Venue

My husband and I first toured the Mayflower and were in absolute awe of its grandeur. We loved it so much, but weren't sure if my parents would go for it, because we assumed it was way out of budget. We then toured it with our parents who loved it just as much as we did, and luckily we were able to work out a deal! They are so complimentary and understanding that they want to work with you every step of the way. My coordinator they assigned was also awesome and was always available to chat and was super communicative with us at every stage. We loved our wedding and all of our guests did too - highly recommend!

    Loved the Experience!

When we were looking for venues, we wanted a location that we felt was the best "bang for your buck" and we truly felt like the MayFlower Hotel was. From the second we started planning to the day of execution, everything felt like it flowed perfectly. Jenna and her team were super accomadating in every aspect. I come from a big Colombian family and Jenna and her staff not only were they able to get our requested liquor but they also included that in our package! It was a big hit at the wedding. For the food tasting, we took my step-son with us to see the venue for the first time. My step-son is probably the pickiest eater ever so Jenna offered to have chocolate chip pancakes the day of the wedding and she delivered! Not only was my step-son happy and enjoying his time, it made it easier on us to not worry about what he would eat. As for the rest of the wedding weekend, Jenna and her staff kindness continued. When we arrived, a bottle of champage, chocolate, and flowers were waiting in our room with a note. At the end of our wedding night, we came to our room and found another bottle of champage, chocolate covered strawberries, and customized robes with our initials on it! We found this to be incredibly sweet and made us want to continue our services with the hotel. We truly loved our experience with the hotel!

    Great experience booking!

We just booked the Mayflower for our wedding reception and are super excited for our wedding. We were impressed by their responsiveness and willingness to work on us with the price/package and allowing us to view the venue several times.

    Can't Recommend This Venue Enough!

The venue itself is extremely beautiful, but the staff really makes it all worth it. Our wedding team (Ron, Drayton, Kevin, and Lauren) was fantastic at every turn. They were extremely professional and great to work with from the moment we first visited to the end of our wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was a special event. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone in need of a high quality wedding venue.

Working with the Mayflower was an incredible experience. The hotel could not have been more accommodating, and our coordinator, Drayton, was extremely responsive and did a wonderful job keeping everything organized. The Mayflower worked with us throughout the planning process to make updates to the layout of each room, and made sure that everything went smoothly the entire wedding weekend. The catering team went over the top to design a menu specifically tailored for our event, even adding peanut butter cookies to the menu for dessert at a last minute request! I could not recommend the venue or the staff more highly- they were absolutely amazing.

Mayflower helped to make sure that our wedding was everything we ever wanted and more. I was lucky enough to work with Ron Kee to develop our contract and Drayton Haycock who handled the planning / coordination for our wedding. The whole Mayflower team went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was exactly how we envisioned it. Ron and Drayton were both very responsive to our questions throughout the planning process (and we had so many questions!). Drayton was amazing, she was always organized and professional and she managed the planning and scheduling with tremendous expertise. The Mayflower team (bartenders, waiters) were all so professional. Mayflower really went above and beyond to ensure that our guests had a great time and that they their stay at the hotel was flawless. I couldn’t be happier with the Mayflower and everyone who worked to make the day so memorable.

Magical Evening! The wedding was everything I dreamed of and more! The venue is so beautiful, so elegant, historical, and comfortable! One of the guests told me that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and that The Mayflower and its Staff had enhanced their experience. The wedding coordinator, Sasha Wilder, was the best person I have ever worked with. She was on top pf every detail. Prior to the wedding there were tweaks needed to be taken care of, and she was already doing so, always thinking ahead. She remained calm through every minor rises that would arise. She is genuinely invested in your best experience. I recommend this wonderful place to be your wedding venue!

I cannot rave enough about the team and experience we had in holding our wedding at the Mayflower. They organized a room block large enough for every single one of our guests and every guest was so impressed by the hospitality and history of the hotel. The events team truly treated us like royalty - from the impeccable menu tasting and planning meetings to the many gifts and surprises on our wedding day to the ballrooms, food, and service itself. Kelly Dodds is amazing!

From the minute we met with Elizabeth Kearse- we knew that the Mayflower was the best place to host our wedding. She was very welcoming and understanding of our financial situation to work within our budget. She then introduced us to our wedding coordinator, James Reilly. James and Elizabeth went above and beyond their "job description" to make us feel special! James (aka Jimmy) was beyond fantastic. Words cannot describe how much he helped execute our vision for the event which in the end exceeded all of our expectations! He was always available and prompt to getting back to us which was important since we live out of the area in Philadelphia. He was also very accommodating to our last minute requests and made them work. James and Tomeka Turner also accommodated and graciously assisted our guests. Everyone who stayed with the hotel told us a glowing review of their stay. Not only is the hotel absolutely beautiful (we love the room renovations too), but all the staff (front desk, bell hop, valet parking, housekeeping etc) were warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming. We all were completely and utterly impressed! Lastly, we do not want to forget mentioning our event banquet captain. Although her name escapes us now... She was very attentive and helped keep things on schedule and flowing nicely. Overall, it was an amazing wedding all thanks to the staff at the Mayflower! We miss it so much!

We could not have found a better venue for our wedding! The Mayflower was everything we wanted for our wedding and more! The hotel has a special charm to it. The history behind it along with the beautiful renovations made it really stand out as a venue. Additionally, it is centrally located to everything in Washington, D.C which was very convenient for all of our out of town guests. We hosted our wedding ceremony in the State Ballroom, a post ceremony coffee/tea reception in the East Ballroom, our cocktail hour in the foyer and our wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom. Every space was set up beautifully and the historical charm to these spaces really shined during our events.

We worked Lizzy Vacarella when first booking the event. Lizzy was extremely patient and understanding – she answered several questions and allowed me to bring up every possible detail before signing that contract. She gave me ease and made the process already start smoothly. Jimmy Reilly was our events manager and worked with us the 9 months following. We feel lucky that we got Jimmy as our events manager. He is so enthusiastic, energetic, patient, detailed oriented, professional, as well responsive. He continued to assure us how wonderful our wedding is going to be and everything will be taken care of by him. When time came to our wedding, he really stood by his words. We had many guests travel in from various parts of the world and he made their accommodations more than comfortable. He made sure to give the highest priority to my husband and me during our wedding weekend and we really could not have been more pleased. He helped make our wedding day one to remember!

The Mayflower gave me and my husband the wedding of our dreams! Our family and friends still talk about how amazing the venue was and how much fun they had at our wedding. I would choose the Mayflower for our wedding a hundred times over!

The Mayflower staff made me feel pampered from the moment I checked in to the bridal suite on Friday. There were so many extra touches that made the weekend unforgettable. Jimmy Reilly was our wedding coordinator and did not miss a detail! We met several times leading up to the wedding- and he made sure to take care of all the details when wedding weekend came. Lizzie was our sales manager, who my parents still talk about like we are best friends! Everyone was so friendly and attentive.

Most of our guests were from out of town, so we had a large room block. Everyone commented on how friendly the staff was and some have even gone back to stay again! The remodeled rooms are gorgeous, with beautiful suites. Your guests will not be disappointed!

The food was excellent with large portions. Many family members told me there were actually too many appetizers at cocktail hour- that he could not stop eating the delicious food. We chose the duet entree of steak and halibut. Everything from the napkin folds to the China was perfect. The uplighting in the room was also gorgeous. You cannot go wrong with the Mayflower!

Working with Lizzy (sales), Allie (event manager) and the entire Mayflower Hotel team was an amazing experience! I had the wedding of my dreams two weeks ago and the Mayflower Hotel was the perfect backdrop! From the moment I stepped foot inside the Mayflower, I knew this would be my wedding venue. Besides the fact that the hotel is breathtakingly GORGEOUS, the customer service was exceptional! Lizzy and Allie went above and beyond the call of duty to answer any questions I had (which were numerous), resolve any issues that may have occurred, or accommodate my special requests (i.e., infusing Caribbean food into the menu. The chef special ordered mini beef patties!) My guests are still raving about my wedding, many proclaiming it was the wedding of the year! Every aspect of the wedding planning process went seamlessly and the BIG DAY was flawless! Having my wedding at the Mayflower was worth every penny and the best decision I cloud have made. I look forward to celebrating my one year anniversary there!

The Mayflower was the best venue! It was everything I wanted my wedding to be and more! The hotel has a vintage feel that makes it feel like it's not your typical hotel venue. The historic charm glowed and made our wedding beautiful! It was in a convenient location that allowed my out of town guest easy access to great sites around Washington D.C.

Lizzy worked with us to book the event. She was very friendly and sweet. With her help we were able to get extra ammenities into the contract. Jimmy was our event coordinator and he was a pleasure to work with. He was with us every step of the way helping us all of the details. He was very organized and responded quickly to phone calls and emails. I will miss working with him! He helped make our wedding one to remember!

The catering staff provided excellent meals for all of meals throughout the weekend. The service was amazing. I have nothing but good things to say!

I have long been a client at The Mayflower Hotel - In the past, I have done large conventions and trade shows. So, when we went on a hunt for our wedding venue, the Mayflower Hotel was the first we looked at. I absolutely love the hotel - and the staff- but I was concerned that, because I'd done corporate / professional business there, that I would see it less as a wedding venue than I wanted to. After searching for *months* for something that I loved as much as or more than The Mayflower I realized that there was nothing comparable. We ultimately decided on the Mayflower and it was one of the BEST decisions we made. Everything was absolutely flawless. All the other properties I looked at were nice in different ways but the Mayflower was the only one that was *everything* we wanted - the staff and feeling connected to the people we would be working with for our big day was at the top of the list and The Mayflower's staff has always treated me [and my now husband] like family.

Elizabeth Vaccarrella [Lizzy] was my sales manager - she was very knowledgeable, professional, confident and most importantly *capable*. She absolutely understood the things that were important to me and crafted a wedding package that met my individual needs - it wasn't a "cookie-cutter" wedding package like a lot of the other venues we looked at. She was great and always was quick to respond and answered questions before I asked them!!

Allison Cocker [Allie] was my event manager and after the contract was signed she took over with the planning process - wedding tasting, timeline, floor plan, coordinating vendors, etc. She was great and had a ton of great suggestions - or offered a different option to ideas I had that didn't work well with previous events. She knows what she's doing. Everything was flawless - our timeline went exactly according to plan, though, I didn't pay much mind to it because she and the rest of the team really made it stress-free for me and my family. Loved it all

The best decision I made was being a Mayflower bride! From Ron in sales to Allie in events/catering, we had an amazing team who made us feel like we were their only wedding throughout the entire process, and we booked them two years in advance. They were the consummate professionals, handled any and every question, request or issue that came up - though they didn't let me know about any of the issues that did arise. All of our guests raved about how ours was the best wedding they had ever been to, because the hotel, staff, food, alcohol and location were so superb. If you are able to have your wedding at the Mayflower - DO IT!

Allie at The Mayflower handled my 140 person wedding. She was amazing throughout the planning processes. The week of most of my groom's guests flew in from California, Nevada and Texas. There were multiple events that week and most of our guests would end the evening in the J. Edgar for drinks and after dinner treats. The hotel was extremely hospitable. The day of we were surrounded by Allie and a team of people that made my event absolutely amazing! The food was excellent and everyone left saying they had never been to such a fun and beautiful event. The Mayflower is a special place in DC for me and my family, my aunt was married at the Mayflower in the 60s and many people in my family visited the Mayflower during it's rich history. I am thrilled to say it is now part of my history, too!

We absolutely LOVED having our wedding at the Mayflower. It was a pricey option, but completely worth it. The venue is gorgeous, the food is amazing, the chefs are awesome, the staff is courteous, welcoming, and professional, the location is very central and super convenient for out of town guests, the rooms are great, and our wedding planner was outstanding. We worked with Ron Kee during contract negotiations and our wedding planner was Jimmy Reilly. I cannot convey how critical Jimmy was to our wedding and our enjoyment not only of our wedding day and our rehearsal, but also the months leading up to the wedding. He was incredibly responsive and attentive to every detail, which made us feel so reassured and confident that we were in good hands, and he proved that a thousand times over during the wedding weekend. He also took the time to get to know us and to really care about our wedding, our family, and our wedding party and managed to make the whole weekend run so smoothly and stress-free and feel so personalized. Absolutely nothing went wrong on our wedding day-- the Mayflower staff did a PERFECT job. It was unbelievable. And while we had initially planned to go take pictures down by the White House or something during the cocktail hour, there were so many beautiful, picturesque spots at the hotel, that we just stayed there and got gorgeous pictures. We had a pretty unique ceremony with some tricky A/V requests and they handled them all perfectly! The A/V team was really impressive. Even the head of security got to know us and gave us a little historical tour of the hotel (fascinating history, which the out of town guests also loved!). Throughout the whole wedding planning process and wedding weekend, we felt so welcome at the Mayflower. We were so glad we had our wedding ceremony, reception, hotel room block, and after party there!

Our wedding at the Mayflower was a dream come true!! We worked with Cliff and Nancy and they were the utmost professionals and so receptive and accommodating! I looked at many different venues before choosing them and I must say they were impressive from the beginning. I live in Boston and was in town for the weekend. I cold-called the Mayflower to see if I could stop by for a tour and they fit me in for a tour that day. They were so friendly and answered all of my questions. THe venue itself is gorgeous!! One of the big things for me was that if I was going to get married in a hotel I did not want our reception hall to look like it was in a glorified conference room (ie low ceilings, weird carpets, etc). The mayflower on the other hand has high ceilings, an elegant grand hall and gold accents on the ceilings. It is really beautiful and elegant. Another plus was they allowed outside catering for ethnic food.(which is such a special treat since other venues would not let you do that or charge you crazy fees). We got the Persian food from an outside caterer and American food through them and the food was really delicious. Also, they were so accommodating with our budget (no one would have guessed how much we actually spent on the wedding). Also they were one of the very few vendors who let us extend the wedding past 12 am (which is key for an ethnic wedding :) Since we live in boston and couldn't come down often, they fit us in for a tasting on the weekend and were very receptive and prompt in their email correspondence back to us. I really, truly can not say enough wonderful things about this venue and the staff.!! I looked at several other venues in the area (willard, omni, several vineyards in VA and reception halls in VA and MD) and I really feel that the Mayflower gives you the most in terms of pricing, service and beauty of venue. Ask for Cliff or Nancy if you do end up going there...they will take good care of you!

One of the hardest decisions in the wedding planning process is selecting the venue, and I think the best decision we made for our wedding was choosing The Mayflower as our ceremony and reception venue. Not only is the venue stunning and unique in its architecture and design, but the staff is incredible to work with. The initial signing the contract process, which can be tedious and frustrating, was so easy and fun with Ron. He was enthusiastic and sweet, and always took into account our concerns and genuinely cared if were happy with the contract. He went above and beyond to make sure we were getting a great deal. Our planner through the venue was Jimmy, and he was such a pleasure to work with during this process. He was hard working, diligent, but also incredibly sweet and friendly. Throughout the planning process it was as if ours was the only wedding he had to work on. The night of the wedding, everything went with ease, but its only because the staff catered to us like we were royalty. The catering staff and Jimmy were there every step of the way with us, constantly making sure we were ok and asking if we needed anything. The service at the Mayflower is unique in the sense that they are very professional and elegant, without being stuffy. I actually consider Jimmy and Ron as friends now, and continue to keep in touch with them. Its the high level of service with the personal and friendly touches that make The Mayflower one of the best decisions you will make for your wedding.

We were so impressed by everything about our wedding experience with the Mayflower. Ron Kee assisted us with preparing the contract, and Philip Shortino managed everything related to the event planning. They both were extremely helpful and far exceeded our expectations with regard to attentiveness, flexibility, and overall quality. We also were very impressed with the quality of the food (Chef Doug and his team did an amazing job with everything) and waitstaff. We enjoyed a beautiful wedding day, and much of this is due to the efforts and attention-to-detail of the Mayflower team.

We were so very pleased with the wedding reception held at The Mayflower on 7/26/14!
We had cocktails in the Chinese room and the reception in The Grand Ballroom... it was truly GRAND!! We worked with Nancy Calabrese and she was just wonderful...the attention to detail was excellent. Everything went smoothly and we never had a care in the world. Everyone had such a great evening...the room looked beautiful (thanks to the flowers from Bergerons), the navy chairs, napkins, lighting etc. The food was delicious, the servers were very professional and many of the guests enjoyed staying at the hotel! The band ( 'Round Midnight) had everyone dancing and having a great time. Thank you to all those involved in making the evening so very special!

The elegance of this hotel alone is enough for a 5 star review! Since the wedding, we have gotten so many compliments on the reception site. The food, service, hotel rooms, atmosphere, etc. were all above and beyond what we were expecting. The planning stage with Ron and Philip at the Mayflower was so easy and fun! They were both so great to work with, quick with email responses and answers to questions, easy to plan meetings with. The Chef put together a really delicious menu for us that was exactly what we were looking for. The room accommodations were beyond what we were expecting. Every guest said how much they loved every detail of this beautiful, historic hotel.

I can't speak highly enough about our experience at this gorgeous D.C. hotel. The Mayflower was an absolute dream of a venue, and even more so, was the team we worked with. The Mayflower is professionalism and class at its finest. Ron and Nancy were so dedicated to us from the start, provided rapid responses, knew every single answer to any kind of question we had, and made the day so unbelievably perfect. The entire staff, from the front desk to the bellhop, were so friendly and accommodating - our guests felt the same way. We only had 6 weeks to plan our wedding and reception, and Nancy and Ron made sure it was as stress free as possible. The venue itself is gorgeous and the history of the hotel made the evening even more special. Doors were always opened for us, the service was amazing, and everyone was just SO friendly! They truly made us feel so special on our day. Following our ceremony at a church in D.C., my new husband and I were greeted at the doors of the hotel with a red carpet and champagne for us and our parents. We continue to hear from our guests about what a wonderful evening it was, and how delicious the food tasted. I can't imagine having my wedding reception anywhere else!

To Rosa and Jimmy many thanks. The two of you made my wedding something I will cherish forever.

To all that read this review, I would like you to know my husband and I were impressed and sold on this venue when we walked in the doors of the Mayflower Hotel. We visited many venues and I refuse to settle for less for what I had envisioned for my wedding. This place is gorgeous!! You must see it in person. Without announcing to the concierge we were there to meet with Jimmy, someone walked over to us and notified us Jimmy was on his way to meet with us. To this day my husband and I can't figure out how anyone knew we had arrived and was waiting.

Jimmy was so accommodating and personable and he was very responsive to all communication. I thought he would refuse my request for an outside caterer, but I was so pleasantly surprised when we signed the contract. :-)

Rosa was the next Mayflower representative we worked with and she answered all my questions and trust me, I had a lot of them. I probably drove them crazy at times, but they never showed it. They were always pleasant and willing to help or offer suggestions.

The day of my wedding went very smoothly and both Jimmy and Rosa made sure both myself and my guests were comfortable. They even provide complementary sweets! The fruit tarts and banana bread is to die for!

My husband and I enjoyed their services so much, we plan to visit next year for our anniversary. Thanks again Rosa and Jimmy.

I am positive that our wedding was absolutely perfect. We knew it would be from the start of our planning thanks to Jimmy Reilly: senior catering sales executive, Christi Lopez & the staff at Bergerons (the in house florist), and the fantastic Paul Tramonte: director of event planning.
I called the Mayflower assuming such a beautiful & historic venue wouldn't be attainable for Rob and I. The first person I had contact with was Jimmy. He assured me that if we just came to see the Mayflower & talked with him that they could give to us a wedding reception within our budget that would be amazing. He was so friendly, enthusiastic, and welcoming. We immediately felt comfortable & knew everything would be easy, taken care of, and wonderful.
When our date was set we met with Paul. He is a delight & I adore him! Thanks to him I was totally relaxed as the wedding got closer. I usually worry & second guess but because of Paul I was able to completely enjoy the day of the wedding with no stress! Rob, myself, and my mother felt so at ease and confident with Paul. He is helpful, kind, patient, and so organized. He could read what Rob and I were looking for when we were not even sure ourselves. I cannot express enough just how appreciative both Rob and I are, as well as how delighted our parents are with Paul Tramonte. Working with Paul and Jimmy, and the entire Mayflower staff from room service to wait staff to front desk and valet... DREAM COME TRUE!!!! I would never think of having an event anywhere else ever again!
Our friends and family were thrilled to attend such an elegant party at the Mayflower! We heard nothing but praise about how stunning the venue was, how well organized and easy going the night was, and how Fabulous the food was. Having appetizers and a meal that was gourmet and delicious was high on our list of wants when looking for a venue. The Mayflower delivered 100% on this.
I'm out of space but read my review for Bergerons at the Mayflower!

The Mayflower hotel is an amazing venue! Not only is it a historical hotel, but it is absolutely gorgeous!! We used the Chinese Room for our cocktail hour and the Grand Ballroom for our reception. Every president since the 1920's to Reagan (I think) has had an inaugural ball in the grand ballroom! Facts like that were pretty neat!

Not only was the hotel beautiful, but the entire staff was amazing. From the day we met our sales representative to the day we met our wedding coordinator to the end of our long stay at the Maflower, everyone was helpful and polite and because of the staff, everything went smoothly!

My event coordinator was sooo wonderful! She thought of everything and made it happen!! No need to hire an outside event planner or coordinator! The Mayflower does it all!!

We recently got married at The Mayflower in their Promenade Ballroom. The entire staff was absolutely wonderful and the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were beautiful!! I highly recommend working with coordinator Nancy June. She is efficient and has great attention to detail. I did not even need to hire a wedding coordinator - Nancy took care of everything.

Consider The Mayflower for your wedding - you won't be disappointed!

I had the wedding of my DREAMS at this venue and I have Rosa to thank for that! She was an incredible hotel wedding coordinator. I had been planning my wedding for a year and Rosa was very patient with me. I probably contacted her via e-mail every other day with questions and she would always get back to me within just a few hours! You can tell that she is just passionate about her job and loves to make brides happy! She put a huge smile on my face the day of my wedding and truly made me feel like a princess. Also, everything was perfect: the food, drinks, and set up of the ceremony and reception rooms. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting married at the Mayflower..you won't be disappointed!

The Mayflower Hotel staff could not have been more perfect for my wedding. They all were wonderful and very accommodating of all aspects. I am so happy that my wedding was there. EVERYTHING down to the last detail was perfect and would not have been able to do it with out our coordinator Rosa. She helped us along the way and honestly everyone is talking about what a great affair it was :)

Planning a wedding is stressful and I am definitely type A- I would visit the mayflower almost biweekly close to the wedding and they never got tired of me always helpful every time !!

If you have some money to spend, the Mayflower is absolutely, 100 percent the place where you should get married in Washington, DC. Dominic Sanchez and his staff will go so far beyond your expectations you won't even believe it. Aislynne in sales and Ashley in room bookings will also go above & beyond. it's been almost 2 years since my wedding there and I still remember everyone who was there to help us out, which really says something about the quality of service at the Mayflower. Definitely not to be missed.

I got married at the Mayflower a few weeks ago, and it was beyond any expectations I had. We had both the ceremony and reception there. I realized during the wedding planning process that it's not just about the day of the event (more on that later) but it's the months and months leading up to the wedding that are just as important. From the first day we set foot in the Mayflower, we were treated as though we were the most important people in the room (I went home with a bouquet of fresh flowers the first day we looked at the space, which was just a small example of all the wonderful touches). We worked with Lizzy to book the space, and then transferred to Jessie when we started the planning, and they both were patient, diligent and pleasant to work with. I worked with Jessie for months, over countless emails and several visits and she was unbelievably responsive, and any issue we had was dealt with immediately. I went into the wedding weekend with no doubt that it would go off without a hitch.

The wedding itself was flawless. There were zero issues (or maybe there were that I had no idea about). I never had to deal with a single vendor the day of, everything was exactly as we had planned and every person was treated unbelievably well. Both my husband and my families were treated like rock stars, and there were even several wonderful surprises for us throughout the weekend. Guests were seamlessly moved from one room to another, and things moved like clockwork. The food was delicious!

My only caution, is that while the wedding team was great, the reservations team was difficult. We had a block of rooms, and there was a lot of confusion on our end, and several issues with our guests, so if you do a block there, make sure you have your wedding planner help you manage them.

Choosing wedding vendors is overwhelming, but I think the venue is the most important, and the Mayflower was definitely the best decision we made!

    Amazing suite and service

We stayed at one of two presidential suites at the Mayflower Hotel. The room was amazing and it provided us with all the space we needed to get ready the day of. We were also able to entertain our guests the night before. The beautifully decorated room and the balcony provided us with an amazing setting for some beautiful pictures.

The staff was attentive and Andrea, their events coordinator, personally greeted us when we checked in. She sent us a tray with champagne and strawberries with a card congratulating us on our wedding. Those little details make all the difference!

The Mayflower is a beautiful, historic hotel that gave our guests the true D.C. experience that we wanted for our wedding. The service we received from their sales team was exceptional (Cliff, Mallory, & Jimmy) and they worked with us to match what we wanted with what fit into our budget, especialy because our wedding was off-season.. We had some special requests to make our day unique and they were able to accommodate what we needed. It was really nice to work with a team with a great personality and a smile - that goes a long way to ease the stress of wedding planning.

The Mayflower staff runs weddings like clockwork - they are true professionals and give phenomenal service. You don't have to worry about the flow of the day, they are on top of it!

Like us, our guests were impressed with the food which for my husband - was a huge win. There are so many perks to have your wedding at The Mayflower and we definitely recommend it! In fact, our friends are have their reception at The Mayflower early next year :)

The Renaissance Mayflower Hotel was our ceremony/reception venue for our October 8, 2011, 5pm wedding. Our guests are still RAVING about the elegant and classy venue. Dellin and I are amazed at how beautiful everything that we envisioned came to fruition. We would like to add that many of the staff at the Mayflower are professional and responsive and worked hard to keep us satisfied during our planning process.

    Pros:
    elegant venue
    great food
    accessible parking
    nice hotel rooms
    professional, flexible staff
    Mia Carter
    Kristin Hughes
    Akeah Proctor
    Tahmika Gist

    Cons:
our package did not include Chivari chairs which we think for the money we spent they should have been included
also, several of our guests stated that the quantity food at the cocktail hour was limited eventhough we thought we ordered a sufficent amount for our guest count

Overall, we are extremely happy that we chose the Mayflower for our special day.

I was so blessed to have picked the perfect venue. The Mayflower met every wedding dream I had envisioned. Working with Rosel Moral, and Mr. Joe Cardone was a gift. Rosel was attentive, understanding and determined to make me the happiest bride. My wedding was a fairytale. The catering team and chef prepared the best meal, display of food and service we could have asked for. Thank you Chef Kristin. Thank you Catherine and your catering team, thank you everyone at the Mayflower for making my event the perfect success.

We started and ended with great service from the Mayflower Hotel. We had a change in wedding coordinator about a month before our wedding, and the Mayflower did everything possible to make sure our wedding went smoothly. There was a little bit of a scramble towards the end, but their coordinators worked around the clock to make sure we got the details ironed out. They even comped some of our services/upgrades to make up for the minor bumps in the road we experienced. Considering the potential for train wrecks due to family drama, the wedding happened without ANY incidents. We had to make minor changes as the evening progressed (decided to not do the garter and bouquet toss because guests were having too much fun), but these changes were made seamlessly and people didnt even notice the changes. Many people commented that this was the best wedding they had ever attended, and that was due largely to the experience and quality of service provided. They were incredibly flexible and accommodating. Incredible value for everything the Mayflower includes in their wedding packages!

We were married at St. Matthews Cathedral and the wedding reception was held at the Mayflower Hotel. The wedding planner, Katherine, did a fanstatic job from helping me plan the event to managing both my expectations (and my mothers!). She communicated every detail and made the planning a pleasant and memorable experience. By the way, the food tasting is an event in itself. Very fun! We booked the Chinese Room for cocktails and then the reception dinner was held in the Main Ball Room. The food was amazing, the lighting just perfect, and fun was had by all guests. I would definitely recommend having a wedding reception at The Mayflower.

This is an absolutely perfect place to be married...and or reception. Our coordinator, Heather Jasper, was just fabulous. She was extremely professional, helpful, understanding, and fun! Everything went off smoothly. She helped with the menu, suggested other vendors (all excellent), and was always there to answer any of my questions during all the planning. Our ceremony was beautiful, the reception was excellent. The food - well...I didn't eat mine because of being pulled around, but the food is great. The menu selection is exceptional, and we could select different entrees for our guests. The wait staff was great. I highly recommend this hotel!

    Wedding Room Block Perfection

I didn’t get married at the Mayflower Hotel, but I did book my room block here for my wedding and I also did my First Look here, so I wanted to do a little shoutout anyways. The hotel is absolutely GORGEOUS. The outside is iconic, the main hallway is breathtaking, and the rooms are glamorous. The mirrors and the gold are so photogenic, there is not a single average angle in that space. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special and my mom raves about how kind and attentive everyone was. An amazing space and an amazing decision to have this hotel be a part of my wedding weekend - highly recommend!

My experience at the Mayflower was phenomenal!!! My sales and meeting contacts Ron and Rosa were absolutely amazing!!! They made me feel like an absolute celebrity princess and were very hands on all throughout my planning process. They literally rolled out the red carpet for me and my guests!! The only minor issues we had were with the banquet staff during dinner but that was minor. I loved my wedding. Every time I drive by the hotel I tell my fiancé lets run in and get married again!!! Mayflower provided a platinum wedding. Dream come true!!!

I absolutely loved getting married at the Mayflower Hotel. They treated every member of my family so well, answered all of their questions, and pulled off an amazing wedding. They were so kind and thoughtful throughout the wedding weekend and during the planning process. They provided the historic and classic hotel experience that I wanted for my wedding and guests. One of the benefits was that the church where we got married was close by and they had a great package so I didn't have to worry about wrangling a bunch of vendors together.

We had our ceremony and reception at The Mayflower. Let me start by saying that we have LOVED working with the team there. My mom and I enjoyed going to tea there for years, and when I was getting married, I knew that there was no other place I'd like to have as my venue.

However, as you can imagine, The Mayflower isn't cheap. It's a beautiful, historic venue, and the cost is commensurate with the grandeur. Our initial interview was with Jimmy Reilly, and he is a true GEM. He made us see that we could have our dream wedding there, and not go completely broke doing it.

He passed us off to Rosa, who was very sweet. We had a few hiccups along the way, but nothing that couldn't be smoothed over. The tasting was one of the BEST parts of my entire wedding planning process. I swear, the price of the wedding was worth it just for the tasting. The chef was conscientious and talented and everything was delicious.

The night before our wedding, Rosa had a suite waiting for each of us (and each set of parents). The treats that were in our rooms were so thoughtful.

From this experience, Jimmy and Rosa have become friends (Jimmy was even an invited guest to our wedding, and is a dear part of our lives going forward).

If you're looking for a professional team, look no further. Rosa and Jimmy are a true dream team.

We had our reception at The Mayflower on July 12, 2008. We liked that it was within a short walk from our ceremony site - St. Matthew's Cathedral. The cocktail hour was in the Chinese Room and the reception was in the Grand Ballroom. We were very happy with everything - the room looked beautiful - from the table linens to the lighting. The Mayflower also did our cake - I hadn't given much guidance on what it should look like and I was really happy with it. Stephanie Krasner was our coordinator, and she did a fantastic job. She paid attention to every detail and was always willing to meet with us during the planning. She kept everything running smoothly and was so nice. There were little hiccups - like a few hotel rooms not being available on time for check-in and some guests did not get their gift bags, but that was minor. We loved the elegance of the Mayflower, but Stephanie also helped us achieve a fun atmosphere like we wanted.

Mayflower's ballroom is amazing and one of the biggest in the city. The hotel has old charm and there really isn't another ballroom like it. All of the presidential inaugural balls have been in The Grand Ballroom. It is pricy, so do not go if you are on a strict budget. We had the Presidental Suite as our bridal suite and it was the nicest suite I have ever been in!

The event staff is wonderful and will accommodate your every desire!

Great events staff but very poor front desk support for guests

We used the Mayflower Hotel as the hotel for small ceremonies in the Presidential Suite, our Sangeet night celebration, and the room block for 5 days. The Presidential Suite, Grand/Chinese Ballrooms, and our interactions coordinating events with Melissa and Jackie were all wonderful. However, we did encounter a number of issues in accessing the suites we had reserved upon check-in and it did take quite a long time to resolve and added a great deal of stress at the very start of our wedding. Overall, we were grateful to be able to contact Jackie and her team to help move things along, but us and even our guests encountered a bunch of negative and stress-inducing interactions with the front desk staff who did not appear to be on the same page as the events staff.

The Mayflower was unbelievable. They had a special gift when we arrived at the hotel and gave us personalized bathroom robes. Although I had a change of coordinator a month before the wedding, it was done flawless. Catherine (wedding coordinator) was so helpful. My only complaint was changing wedding coordinators before my special day. I was nervous and scared about my special day. Catherine had to know all of the details for my day in a short amount of time.

A beautiful hotel with incredible food and decor. Being involved in the planning, you will scrutinize every detail and notice anything that is wrong; which, there will always be something. That being said, we really had a wonderful time, as did our guests, who have been continually complimenting us on the reception since. The service was almost impeccable. However, the flaws we speak of, having had little to no impact on our guests, made our day extremely stressful. We feel strongly that this can be avoided by other brides and grooms seeking this venue by insisting on all of your details to be exactly as you want them. The hotel pressured us to modify our day-of time-line, at the last minute (after invitations were printed, and up to the week before our wedding day). There were a few details that were extremely important to us, including being able to attend our own cocktail hour, which we were unable to do. The hotel was concerned that there was too much time between our ceremony and our receptions and that they (the hotel) would be perceived as unprepared if our guests arrived at the hotel with "nothing to do." We modified our schedule to accommodate the hotel, which is why we rated the vendor lower on flexibility. In other areas, they were absolutely flexible and even went above and beyond to please us. These are the facts and each bride and groom must decide what is most important to them.

The Mayflower was a great venue for the money. They were much more affordable in the winter season and I suggest the winter vs the summer for the value. The contract needed to be reviewed many times because of mistakes. The wedding planner is not responsive and needs to be tracked down and reminded of details but if you are organized you can keep her on schedule. The day of the wedding was a dream!

The room we chose to have our wedding was beautiful - actually the venue of on of President Kennedy's inaugural ball. The price per person was a little steep, but totally worth it. And they did not require us to use their caterer, we have religious requirements for the food so they allowed an outside vendor. Most of my guests were from out of town and to be so close to the tourist attractions (Smithsonian, White House, etc) was an added plus.

We choose the Mayflower Hotel as our reception venue. We received two smaller ballrooms in our package for approx. $120 per person, along with top shelf alcohol and 4 hors d'ouerves, a suite night, and our cake. We also decided to use the florist inhouse which we paid approx. $1300 for. The total bill for approx. 88 guests was $14,000 (with taxes). The planning process was a lot of fun and we loved being treated so well. Even that night before the meal began I was impressed with the set-up of the room, and how we were all introduced to the crowd.

We thought that the overall price for the value was worth it, the food was excellent and the cake tasted great and looked lovely. We might book here again but would be on them like hawks both the night of the event and making sure that everything we wanted was in the contract before we signed. The event venue is also fabulous for photos, but we only cautiously recommend them for these reasons:

    1) The cake was supurb and the chef did a great job with all meals. However, we found the service was TOO prompt, often clearly plates away from guests before they were finished, or while they were dancing removed their piece of cake. We were never consulted with during the event of what they wished us to do with extra cake. They also removed the chargers that we provided after the first course, and did not return them with any service despite us directing them to do so.

    2) We were informed that the service manager would arrange for all gifts and cards to be taken to our suite so that we would not have to worry about that. GET THIS IN WRITING IN THE CONTRACT. We didn't and when some gifts came up missing (including cards with cash and gift cards that I was personally handed) they said it was our fault, got into a blame game, and were absolutely unyielding. They then denied ever offering this service to us (despite the rest of our gifts already in our suite). MISSING: 3-4 gifts/cards; picture frame; 4 disposable cameras that were left on tables.

    3) Close down occured well before our "approximate end time" of 11 PM. As a result, they were clearing tables of everything before guests had left. GET IT IN WRITING THAT THEY WILL NOT BEGIN TO TEAR DOWN, REMOVE FLOWERS, ETC. UNTIL ALL GUESTS HAVE LEFT. ALSO GET IT IN WRITING THAT COFFEE / TEA SERVICE LASTS UNTIL CLOSE.

    4. We regret the most using the florist. The flowers were overpriced when compared to other florists for what we got, they did not provide what we contracted for exactly, they failed to deliver the men's flowers to the church hostess (and allegedly left them somewhere that no one ever found!), and worst of all... at the end of the night we saw them removing the flowers. The groom asked them where they were going and they were told by the main florist "to the trash!" We insisted that we be given some of the flowers. The florist proceeded to set the vase down, remove the flowers from it, shake some of the water off, and then throw them onto one of the side tables. He did this with another arrangement before saying, essentially, "that enough?!" I was speechless and furious!!! Despite complaining the next day and to management, to this day we remain unsatisfied with this unprofessionalism. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR FLORIST.

We decided that it was the perfect place to hold our wedding reception and were lead to believe that the service would be well worth the price. I do have some serious warnings for any bride/groom using this venue, however:
    1) Make sure your event coordinator is not planning a vacation during the week of your wedding....ours was out of town and virtually unreachable the entire week before the event
    2) If you have more than one checking account/ credit card listed with the hotel, make sure you confirm every transaction before it is performed by the event coordinator...ours charged $9000 to the incorrect account!
    3) DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO RESTRICT YOU TO USING THE "IN-HOUSE" FLORIST!!! Bergeron's was the florist that we were contracted to use for our wedding and had the worst customer experience of our lives with this company. Over-priced, poor quality, blatant lying to us throughout the process and breach of contract are just a few words to sum up our experience with the florist. To see my full review, I recommend going to the lowest review for Bergeron’s on weddingwire.
    4) DO NOT PAY the hotel to distribute gift boxes/bags to guests staying at the hotel. We spent a lot of time and money on gift bags for our guests who were staying at the hotel during the two nights of the rehearsal and wedding, but several of the guests never received bags. Not only that, but we had supplied the hotel with extra bags in case they were needed and when we returned to the desk to retrieve the extra bags, they not only had "misplaced" the extra bags, but did not have the bags that had never been given to the designated guests!!
    5) I had only one specific request for the bartenders at the reception....NO BEER BOTTLES!! In my opinion photos of a bride in her elegant dress holding a beer bottle is tacky and I didn't want to pay over $2000 for photography if the p

I can't even begin to describe what occurred during the reception. Where do I start because there were do many details that were either forgotten or missed. My expectations were very high, I have to say, since this was a THE Mayflower Hotel. I expected a lot more than I received. I have to say the Senior Catering Sales Executive, Dominic, was very responsive, up until we signed the contract. After that, I never heard from him again after repeatedly sending him emails about who to contact next. The next time I heard from him was when he sent an email stating that he was leaving The Mayflower.

The event planner who was assigned to our wedding, Stephanie, was impossible to reach. We would play phone/email tag. Sometimes I wouldn't get a response for weeks and I had to call or send an angry email for her to actually get back to me. She did become more responsive when the big day was 2 weeks away. I was very disappointed with her. She forgot so many details. For example, she forgot that we were making our big entrance on the balcony even though we told her this at least 2 times during our meetings. I had to remind her minutes before being introduced. She led us through a back way to get up the balcony. Then, once we made our entrance the plan was to move the spotlight to us. Since she forgot, she had no engineer or AV specialist, and thus she attempted to move the spotlight herself, resulting in her breaking the light. I had to leave my reception to page her at the front desk to get someone to fix it since we needed the spotlight to light our wedding cake on the stage.

Our cake had different flavors on each layer. My now-husband and I asked for red velvet from several servers and we did not get it. Another cake issue was when they wrapped the top layer of our cake and sent it home with our parents, we found out the next day that our topper was gone. All the edible orchids were gone, resulting in no keepsake for me or my husband. We had no other cake topper, that was the one thing I really wanted and they claimed to take it off so they could wrap the cake. I called Stephanie about this the day after the wedding, and she assured me that by the time I come back from my honeymoon that we would gather the orchids and they would be ready for me. I must say it has been 4 months and she has yet to follow up. I wonder why....

I have tried to contact the Director of Event planning and have even written a letter, but no answer. Talk about no apology or responsibility to own up to things that went wrong. I am very disappointed and believe that the Mayflower is overpriced for the kind of treatment I received. The only good thing was that the Chef's food was great. That's about it.

While the venue was beautiful and the food was amazing, we had a lot of problems with our wedding coordinator (assigned by the hotel) responding to questions and requests. After the wedding, there has been nothing but problems. 6 months later, we are still trying to resolve issues with billing (we were double billed for rooms that were supposed to be comp'ed and there were other items which weren't supposed to be billed, etc). My parents have emailed the coordinator several times, and when she didn't respond, they started copying management from the hotel. We have been promised by numerous people that the problems would be resolved quickly, only to have them stop responding and not following through.
