Rick is wonderful!
We loved working with Rick—who is kind, funny, flexible, and easy to work with. We were originally supposed to have a spring wedding and I had my heart set on peonies. When we had to move our wedding to July because of COVID, I knew I may have to let my peony dream go. But Rick made it happen for me!! He absolutely created my vision for my bouquet and I couldn’t be more thrilled. He was flexible and willing to work within my budget. I’m glad we chose to work with Blooms and Rick. THANK YOU RICK! -

A dream come true!
Picking The Jefferson Hotel for our wedding reception was the best decision we ever made. The hotel is the most gorgeous hotel in the area. It's location and convenience was an added plus with a number of guests flying from across the country to be with us for our special day. For guests that chose to stay at The Jefferson, they were amazed. For others who wanted to stay at somewhere more affordable, they appreciated the convenience of having the venue very accessible.
The real highlight of our wedding and the champion is Ashton Hassan, our wedding coordinator at The Jefferson. From the first day I spoke with Ashton on the phone, I knew picking The Jefferson and having her as part of our wedding team is something I would not have anywhere else. She was a true rock-star throughout the whole process of wedding planning, and I never once felt like I was not the only bride she was working with. She was so responsive and so helpful and it made the process so much better. Everything was SO perfect. For the longest time everybody kept telling me to expect things to go wrong and not to stress about the little details. I don't know if I missed anything because of her magic but literally nothing went wrong and it was truly a night to remember for the rest of our lives.
The food was impeccable. Everybody also told us not to expect to eat a full meal - we devoured the appetizers (they had a plate ready for us before we joined the guests for the cocktail hour) and then split the main meals with plenty of time to spare. I am happy to say I literally tried everything at the wedding and it was all amazing. The execution and presentation was great.
All our guests raved about the food, the drinks, the cake and the late night foods. The presentation and the organization was very well done. The staff was amazing and on top of everything. I cannot get over how perfect the night was.

Wedding Dinner at Lemaire
We had a small wedding followed by dinner at Lemaire. We choose Blooms for our flowers and the Jefferson Bakery for our cake. Everything turned out absolutely perfect! We enjoyed working with Rick from Blooms and Melissa Warner with Lemaire was a jewel! She attended to every detail and I couldn’t be more pleased with the way our special day turned out. I would absolutely recommend the Jefferson Hotel’s services. We also spent the night there and we understand why this is Richmond’s 5 star hotel, superb accommodations! We have already planned to return to celebrate our anniversary (which will include a smaller version of our key lime cake). -

We got married at the Jefferson in September 2018 and had the most perfect experience! Our coordinator/catering manager Ashton was phenomenal - responsive, fun, and completely on top of everything! We used Blooms onsite for our flowers and were blown away by what Rick and his team did. We also got our cake from Sara, the pastry chef on site - it was absolutely gorgeous and also delicious. All of the food was amazing, and we had guests coming up to us all night to say it was the best food and cake they’ve ever had - not just at a wedding. The whole staff is amazing and professional - servers were awesome and the concierge Gibson saved us on more than one occasion by tying bow ties. I would absolutely recommend this venue and wouldn’t change a thing about our experience - totally worth the money for such an unforgettable night. -

Rick did an amazing job on our flowers for our wedding. He really knocked it out of the park! Quick to respond, professional throughout the process in every way, and made my vision come true. One of the quickest vendor picks we had! Thank you Rick once again. -

What girl who grew up in Richmond does not dream of getting married at the Jefferson? The ambiance of the hotel is so romantic and grand that the whole event feels like a dream. Our out of town guests were blown away with the hotel. The service is exceptional. The waitress who did our tasting remembered was one of the bartenders at our wedding and she remembered us! This level of detail and attention is just an example of what can be expected from a Jefferson wedding. On top of the ambiance, the food is amazing! Our guests still rave about the mini chicken and waffles passed around at the cocktail hour, plus the entree choices are all so good that we had a hard time narrowing it down for the wedding! Lastly, Ashton Hassan is amazing as the catering coordinator. She was so detailed and easy to ask questions to and would look into anything she could not answer immediately for you. You cannot go wrong with a Jefferson wedding! -

We were married 10/28/17 at the Jefferson Hotel in the Flemish Room and then had our Reception in the Empire Room. Our wedding coordinator was Ashton Hassan. We could not have had a more perfect wedding!! We had around 95 guests.
The reason we chose the Jefferson is obviously for the beautiful backdrop to a wedding, but also because we knew from our first meeting with Ashton that they have done this so many times before that they run on a precise schedule and know what they are doing.
Our wedding was fraught with last minute changes due to familial drama that would drive anyone up a wall. However, Ashton was the constant professional and always had a suggestion or tip to make our life easier. She always rolled with the punches and frankly, our wedding was AWESOME. I emailed Ashton constantly as I would think of details or changes and she would always get back to me promptly. Truly, it is because of Ashton's professionalism and awesome help that I was not concerned at all about how things would go on our wedding day.
We were concerned that the Empire Room would feel too big and empty with only 95 people, but Ashton assured us that it wouldn't, and she was right! We used a little bit of uplighting but really, that space needs next to no decoration because it is so ornate and beautiful on its own.
The drinks, food, and cake were wonderful. It's been two weeks since our wedding and I am still getting compliments on our wedding cake! -

Rick was absolutely amazing!! He was able to work with our budget and created such wonderful pieces for us! Everyone kept raving how much they loved my bouquet - I only wish I had done more to preserve it rather than just normal drying! Rick is so responsive and was exactly the creative person we needed to make everything beautiful! We kept the flowers to decorate our rooms for many days later! -

The Jefferson Hotel is a first class wedding venue. Attention to every detail was incredible. Trish Brinkley was our coordinator. She is fantastic. She listens, follows up and get it right. Everyone form the bell stand to the cake cutters were exceeded all of our expectations.
Mark Patterson help us with room coordination. We made lots of changes. He accommodated us with upmost professionalism and patience.
Hors d'oeuvres served during cocktail hour were generous portions and servers were readily available to our guests. Bartenders worked extremely hard and were very pleasant. Dinner and wedding cake more than exceeded our expectations. Plenty of staff so no tables were waiting for salads, meals drinks or special requests.
The Jefferson pulled off an "epic" wedding without a hitch. We had 330 guests. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone planning a wedding, especially a large wedding. They've got it down. -

Having my wedding at the Jefferson made my wedding a truly memorable and stress-free day! They took care of and thought of absolutely everything! The food was amazing, the location was breathtaking, and my experience was superb. The added bonus of getting to stay in the bridal suite was so wonderful! They even had a piece of each cake and a bottle of champagne for us, since we didn't have time to eat our cake! Everything was flawless. -

I cannot say enough good things about Rick at Blooms at the Jefferson. From our first meeting when I threw him all of my crazy ideas, he was right there to make my dream a reality in the flowers and succulents. I had planned to make succulent boutonnieres on my own, but Rick took on the task and allowed me to focus on everything else for the wedding. The bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, flower girl garland, and all the floral decoration turned out so much more amazing than I could ever imagine. Coming from someone with a vision but very little floral knowledge, Rick grasped exactly what I hoped for and made it even better. -

To say the Jefferson Hotel is a great wedding reception venue is an understatement. The service by everyone at the Hotel was outstanding. We worked with catering manager, Trish Brinkley, and she was simply wonderful. She was very responsive and so helpful with putting together the details for the reception. The Hotel itself is beautiful - a historic Richmond landmark with neat architecture and lovely decor. I loved having our reception there. They exceeded my expectations! -

The Jefferson was amazing. We held our cocktail hour in the rotunda which boasts a giant grand staircase that was perfect for the wedding party and bride and groom entrance. Our dinner was in the Empire ballroom, we had about 120 guests. The event coordinator working with us couldn't have been better. We live in California and had to plan the whole thing long distance and he was a huge help. The dinner was amazing, all our guests were raving about it, and they gave us a good room block rate. Not to mention how beautiful it is. We felt we didn't have to spend much on decor because the rooms were already so amazing. Highly recommended! -

The Jefferson Hotel was incredible. My coordinator, Jimmy Harris, was incredibly professional and helped shape our wedding into a truly beautiful event. He offered advice when we needed it! The staff were curtious, professional, and definitely on their game. The cocktail hour food was amazing, the dinner was amazing, the "late night" snack (burgers) were amazing. People have not stopped raving about the food!
I would book the Jefferson all over again. It was a perfect night. -

Everything about the wedding was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make it a fairy tale wedding. I can't say enough about Trish Brinkley. She was so professional and organized and truly wonderful to work with.
The only negative was in flexibility. We had our rehearsal dinner at The Boathouse and asked if the shuttle could take our guests to it. It is slightly a little bit out of the radius of the shuttle run so they refused to take them. Yet The Doubletree Hotel which is one block away took 3 vans and shuttle our other guests to the restaurant. -

Book Quickly
The Jefferson is a gorgeous hotel and the guests that were able to stay there had a wonderful experience. They sent champagne and chocolate strawberries to our room on the wedding night and made every accommodation for dietary restrictions at my bridal luncheon in the library. Our only complaint is that we were told it would be easy to add rooms to our block as needed but the hotel was fully booked 6 months in advance and many guests struggled to find accommodations on a very busy weekend in Richmond. -

The Jefferson is a stunning venue, no question. The level of service is top notch, and the hotel is sure to impress all of your guests. I would absolutely have my wedding at The Jefferson time and time again. The day of the wedding they made sure everything was perfect. The room was flipped in plenty of time, and the presentation of the ringing of the bell is fantastic. My only caution with The Jefferson is to make sure that you have another individual (wedding planner, savvy aunt, etc.) who can help make sure all of your details are done, can coordinate with all vendors the day of the wedding, can double-check your BEOs, and who can make sure that everything moves according to schedule. The hotel hosts a ton of events, many of them weddings, and their event staff is incredibly busy. I'm not sure that I would rely on them (alone) to take care of all of this. It was, at times, difficult to get responses, but they always responded within a week or so of an email. Usually a follow-up email was all that was required. I also wish they had worked with us on our room rate a little more (on the hotel side), considering the number of guests that booked at the hotel and the amount that we spent having our wedding there. Regardless, every single person was impressed with the hotel and thought it was an incredible value. You will never regret having your wedding here! -

We stayed at The Jefferson on our wedding night, as our flight to Orlando didn't leave until the next afternoon. The hotel offered a bed and breakfast package that I found through a travel website, which included free breakfast at La Mer... and this wasn't some continental breakfast buffet with cereal and muffins, either. Well, they did offer cereal and muffins -- among other things -- but the food was OUTSTANDING! I LOVED the scrambled eggs and bacon, so much that I resisted going back for more (gotta watch your cholesterol, don't ya know).
Anyway, everything was fabulous and the service was excellent! -

Gorgeous Venue, Great Food, Wonderful staff
The Jefferson Hotel was my daughter’s first choice to host her wedding this past July. The venue was fantastic and hit the perfect level of elegance we were looking for. Cassie was great to work with, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The ceremony was in the Empire Room, cocktail hour in the Rotunda, and dinner/dancing in the Grand Ballroom, so our 190 guests were able to easily move to each space and we didn’t have to worry about weather. Another benefit was having a block of rooms at the Jefferson and at hotel a 5 minute walk away. The food and service during the evening were very high quality. The only negative was how they handled the cake – they don’t provide cakes so one must order from an outside vendor (Sweet Fix did a fantastic job). The Jefferson didn’t have the “kitchen cakes” we ordered nicely sliced and ready to serve, causing a delay in serving and slices that weren’t nicely cut. With foresight that would be easily corrected. I do recommend The Jefferson! -

Overall a wonderful venue - our guests were constantly impressed by the decor and by the professionalism of the staff. To be fair, it's a bit pricey, but in the end we were happy to realize that they followed through on the promise of a high-end destination. -

The venue is beautiful, the price is a little over the top but obviously people pay it, the caterer I worked with was great until the wedding day (wasn't around when I was cutting the cake and left before the reception was over and we had a problem with the bar cutting people off before the reception was over), the food is really good - I would recommend if you work with someone else -

Wedding Reception at The Jefferson
I had my wedding reception at The Jefferson and the biggest black mark of the experience was our wedding coordinator, Ashton H. My experience with her was that she had many snide remarks and was bad at admitting when she made mistakes. There were also some oversights on our big day including, but not limited to, me having to follow-up to make sure all my vendors were contacted, food not being set-aside for my bridal party as promised, and the side room for bridesmaids not including table and/or chairs for sitting and eating. We also were unnecessarily rushed during parts of our reception. Being that The Jefferson Hotel has a stellar reputation, I expected to receive the same level of service and treatment as other clients. I addressed concerns on these and some other matters directly to the Event Planning Manager during my wedding planning process and after my wedding to the Food & Beverage (Events) Director. I was very disappointed by the lackluster and unapologetic response I received from the hotel when I addressed said matters, as well as other concerns, in detail to the aforementioned parties. Based on other reviews and also receiving some offline insight, it appears all brides are not treated equally. -

The Jefferson is a beautiful hotel with a good reputation. My wedding guests and I stayed there on the weekend of my wedding. The rooms were clean and pretty. The lobby is of course gorgeous. Working with Maureen, the Reservations Supervisor, was wonderful. She was responsive and helpful.
Unfortunately, most of the other customer service did not live up to the hotel's reputation. The staff and rules were inflexible. For example, I was charged per bag to have gifts delivered to the rooms of my guests (other hotels agreed to give them to guests at check-in at no charge). They did agree to give my guests a letter at check-in, but unfortunately, this was not done for most people. Many of my guests indicated that the letter was slid under their door a day late, or even on the day of checkout. This was a problem, as the letters contained important information about the wedding schedule. When I complained about this, I was told, "I wasn't here yesterday, so I don't know why it wasn't done." I never heard an apology.
The staff was also inflexible about allowing my parents into their room 2 hours early (they requested this weeks in advance). Our wedding gave The Jefferson a lot of business that weekend, and it seemed they couldn't even bend a little with one check-in time.
One of my friends entered her room to discover a housekeeping cart in the middle of the room, with no housekeeper in sight for 2 hours.
When I checked out, I discovered that I had been billed for a friend's entire stay, including room service and valet. (At check-in, I had rigged it so that I would pay for one of her nights but not the other, and this had supposedly been entered into the computer). My friend had already checked out, so I felt I had to pay this unless I wanted the hotel to contact her and tell her she would have to pay it. It was an awkward situation that cost me a lot of money.
The unapologetically shoddy service made my wedding weekend stressful. -
