We had the absolute best day of our lives at the College of Physicians for our wedding day. We had a specific vision and Michael Mitloff helped us achieve it! I was truly blown away when I saw how everything came together on the day. The food was absolutely delicious and my husband and I were able to try everything. Multiple guests remarked on how unique the day way and how delicious everything tasted.

Amazing experience with a great team!
Our wedding was amazing - family would not stop raving about the beauty of the venue, how well organized it was, and how tasty the food was, even days later. In the months leading up to the date, Michael was helpful and supportive every step of the way of what could have been an otherwise terribly stressful experience without his expertise. On the day itself, he took over from my planner and his expert coordination of all my vendors helped everything run smoothly. I especially appreciate that he always checked in with us to see how we were doing and took care of all our concerns, and our dedicated waiter made sure we actually got to eat our own food. Thank you again for a great experience!

A Magical Evening!
Michael and his staff at The College of Physicians were wonderful to work with for our daughter’s wedding. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening and made these observations: “it was the best wedding food I ever had”, the staff was so professional and attentive”, “I gasped when I walked into the gorgeous ballroom”. Michael was committed to assuring the wedding was all that we hoped for, from the lovely courtyard ceremony, to the creative appetizers and finishing the night in the welcoming, elegant ballroom for great dinner and non stop dancing. Through a switch up with the coordinator halfway there, to special requests, to last minute asks and guests unable to make it, Mutter Museum and Catering by Design were AMAZING. Michael and his team were top of the line, complete professionals, understanding, and just all around awesome people. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, better food (seriously amazing food, even better staff), or a better coordinator. They went big instead of going home in the best way possible. Thank you guys, for everything. I will absolutely be recommending you to everyone I know who's getting hitched.

Dream venue with fantastic sales director
If I’m being frank, we had to decide whether to save money and go with a cheaper venue, or splurge and go with our dream venue. We ended up with our dream venue, The Mütter Museum, and we are SO glad we did! It was honestly worth the price for us. We had previously tried the food from the caterer (CBD) from other events at the museum so we knew it’d be great, but the sales director Michael is what really made the day amazing and planning smooth.
We ran into last-minute issues a vendor and he was so helpful in securing a new one. He was understanding and supportive when we had multiple last-minute family health issues and had to change things around. He was incredibly responsive to emails and ensured closed-loop communication between himself, myself, and vendors to keep things running smoothly and everyone on the same page. He also sent multiple emails on my behalf when I was too wrapped up in work or other things.
I kept thanking him throughout the process, but he kept saying “Don’t thank me until after the wedding.” Well, now it is, so I can say it and he won’t rebuttal. Thank you for everything!

Best night ever
It’s been over a week since our wedding and my partner and I are still on cloud nine with how amazing everything was.
We originally had our wedding planned for October 2020, moved it to 2021, and when COVID started getting bad again and the vaccines for kids were on the horizon we decided to move the wedding to 2022. I am so glad we were finally able to have it!
We were very lucky to be able to book all our original vendors for the big night.
We of course used catering by design for catering as they’re the exclusive company for the venue. Don’t let that sway against the venue though. The catering by design team are incredible! Everyone who works there really loves what they are doing and it really shows. The service is amazing, they made every single one of our guests feel like it was their party. I can not say enough about the chef! My partner and I never had a chance to make it to a tasting since we live 4 hours away. We were a little scared going into the wedding because of that but we had heard nothing but high praises about the chef. Both my partner and myself are vegan, so we were pretty excited to collaborate on a menu with the chef.
We chose a lot of items from the pre offered menu because a lot of the food were our favorite foods anyways.
We added a few items for them to make at our request and they freaking killed it!
Same with the sangria they made for our wedding. Everything is made from scratch and you can really taste the amount of passion coming out of that kitchen. Our guests were raving about the food and telling us how they were scared going to an all vegan wedding and weren’t sure what to expect but they were more than surprised with the amount of flavor and creativeness they tasted that night.
My brother who says he is a meat-a-tarian just to make me mad snarfed so many horderves during the cocktail hour… he said he’s never had good vegan food and he was obsessed!
On top of the amazing drinks, service, and food. The venue is just such a unique space. The architecture, the museum being open during cocktail hour, the use of the space. It really makes for the perfect environment for a timeless wedding. We were sad it ended up raining on our wedding day, but when we saw the back up plan for the ceremony, we were actually happier getting married in the room than in the garden.
Catering by design also has a florist division ( garnish) which we used for the night. I personally have a hard time with the idea of cutting a bunch of flowers to be possibly tossed the next day and I expressed my concerns about that with her, showed her my mood board and my vision of what I was looking for and Carolyn freaking knocked it put of the park. There were enough flowers to make it look beautiful and like a wedding but subbed things like candles and vines to help make me feel a little better about it all.
She made my flower girls and myself the most beautiful flower crowns I’ve ever seen. And when she couldn’t find fiddle head ferns for the guys’ flowers she made one out of rope that looked just like one in photos. I was just so thrilled with the look of everything. I can’t wait to see our photos!
Lastly. Michael.
Michael is more than likely going to be your coordinator for the whole thing. Getting your details for everything venue wise, making sure you get what you want, and taking care of everything the day of the wedding.
Our wedding ran so smoothly the day of the wedding and it’s mostly impart due to him for being amazing at what he does.
He’s very personable, dealt with my crazy family before and during the wedding and put my OCD type A planning brain at ease. And I had a million questions so he’s great at putting up with that haha.
Over all this was the best wedding I have been to in a very long time. And I’m not saying that because it was mine but I am saying that because of the staff, the building and the city it was in. They take pride in what they do here and it is worth every dollar.

Amazing night
Beautiful venue, unique experience for guests, amazing food AND service. Michael was so easy to work with we didn’t have to worry about a thing as he had absolutely everything under control. The staff was professional and attentive. Guests are still raving about it being the best wedding they’ve ever been to. “Cure for the Common Wedding” is right!
Our son and beautiful daughter-in-law were married at the College on October 8, 2022 and we could not be more pleased with this venue. Michael Mitloff and his Catering by Design team are skilled, organized, patient, friendly and funny. Highly professional, they’ve done this before yet they made us feel special, customizing the menu and the plan seamlessly to accommodate different cultures. The food is delicious and creative. The venue is gorgeous inside and out and if beauty isn’t your thing, there’s the Mutter Museum to entertain your guests during the cocktail hour. I wish there were more stars to give.

The staff and facilities at The College of Physicians, Mutter Museum, are professional, courteous, and amazingly efficient! My son and daughter-in-law planned the wedding ceremony and reception with Michael Mitloff@CBDevents and it was fabulous. Had a beautiful outdoor ceremony planned but the weather turned as the bride and groom were having pictures taken. Michael and the staff were able to seamlessly transition to an indoor ceremony. The rooms were incredibly beautiful and the service from cocktail hour to dessert was incredible! We received many compliments on the entire wedding.

This is an amazingly beautiful venue which offers both indoor and outdoor space. And an added bonus is the tour of the Mutter Museum which is highly educational and interesting for guests. No one else can provide that! Their preferred catering vendor CBD is also fantastic!!!

Fantastic Memories
Had a fantastic experience with College of Physicians wedding in September of 2022! We found this setting the perfect backdrop – beautiful outdoor space, refined and elegant indoor space, and the Mutter Museum as a backdrop to throw in a unique twist to the evening. It’s big enough venue to impress our guests but small enough to feel intimate as well – a perfect balance. After changing over event coordinators mid-way through planning we worked with Mike the last few months. Let’s just say he has found his calling in life – highly professional, organized, communicative and very concerned with making your wedding as special a day as possible. He clearly went out of his way on several instances to do this. Venue comes with its own in-house catering and décor which makes everything streamlined and easy. If you could have (and afford) two weddings we’d do it here all over again!

Amazing Experience All Around!
We chose the College/Mutter Museum in part because of the groom's obsession with medical oddities (he collects patent medicines) and also because he's a fellow of the College. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding reception! Every one of the staff who worked the event was outstanding, all of our guests raved about the food, and the gardens were a perfect setting. We can't recommend the College (and a particular shout out to Michael, the events manager) highly enough!

All around excellent venue and services!
We had both our ceremony and reception at the College of Physicians at the end of April and it was absolutely perfect. My husband and I are both in healthcare and loved the idea of having the Mutter Museum open for our guests during cocktail hour, and made the experience all the more memorable. The venue itself is historic and beautiful. We were lucky with the weather and able to have our ceremony in the courtyard, which was beautiful and everything was in bloom! I worked with Liz Savitz, who kept everything running smoothly from linen orders to day of timeline. The hall upstairs looked beautiful and really does not need much for decor to look elegant. The food provided by Catering and Design (their exclusive caterer) was absolutely delicious and many of my guests said it was the bet food they have ever had at a wedding! The cake was also perfect and they styled the frosting and flowers exactly how I requested. My only regret is not taking pictures at the marble staircase! We loved having our wedding here and would absolutely recommend it to others!

Incredible!
I cannot recommend Kristen and the team at Catering by Design enough. We loved our wedding at The College of Physicians. I can honestly say every aspect of our wedding went completely as planned and looked exactly as I had envisioned and I had a very specific vision! Kristen was unbelievable-- incredibly responsive and took on way more than most day of coordinators (calling vendors, creating the timeline, recommending vendors, previewing decor set up). She made recommendations and was honest when she really thought something wasn't a good idea, but at the end of the day she let me come up with the concept and executed it beautifully.
In addition to Kristen, the rest of the staff was incredible. I had a number of guests come up to me and tell me the service was outstanding-- better than most top notch restaurants. We even had our own personal concierge, Zakiya, who seemed to know what we needed even before we asked. We actually got to eat at our wedding!
Lastly, the food. It was delicious and again, we got so many compliments. We loved the food so much we ate the packed up leftovers the next night for dinner.
Overall, the evening was incredible and we could not have pulled it off without Kristen and the team at Catering by Design. We cannot thank them enough!

The most amazing place to get married
We fell in love with this venue the moment we walked in! We were at first worried about our budget but Liz and the Catering By Design team worked with us so we prioritized what was truly important to us. From start to finish, there were NO ISSUES and the day flowed beautifully. Our guests love the food, the ambience, and the opportunity to see the museum during our cocktail hour. We could not have asked for a better venue and team helping us! We loved our day, and much of that was thanks to everyone working at the College of Physicians!! It was a magical day.

Outstanding Experience/Perfect Wedding Evening
We have an outstanding experience with College of Physicians and their in-house catering organization for our wedding. We attribute how wonderful our evening was to them! The Wedding Specialist was super organized from at every point in the planning process through the event itself. We felt so relaxed! The attention to details was phenomenal, and everyone was kind and gracious to us and our guests. Even our guests commented on the kind, professional and gracious staff.
The food was delicious! Once again -our guests commented on this! The servers synchronized serving our guests so all at the table received their meals at the same time. Outstanding! Just a class act!
The space is beautiful - the various halls, the garden, etc.

Excellent experience all around!
Kristen Medici and the staff at CBD and CoP did a fabulous job from start to finish. They were responsive, accommodating, flexible about our wishes, and most importantly, made the process personal. Warm and easy to work with, they made an effort to get to know us and our families so the final outcome would be just what we wanted. The venue (especially the garden!) was gorgeous, the food delicious, and the logistics seamless. We highly recommend them without reservation!

Fantastic wedding at College of Physicians!!
From this start, this venue was the one place we could picture ourselves getting married and it exceeded expectations! The ceremony was gorgeous with such historic touches and dark mahogany wood. The cocktail hour was bright and festive, and the reception room was perfect for a large band and 140 guests. Can't rave about this venue enough - you won't be disappointed!

Two brides - two thumbs up!
The College of Physicians made our wedding a 100% positive experience and did so flawlessly. Liz was on top of the planning months in advance, always helping us stay on track with flowers, catering, and day-of-details.
As two women getting married, it was extremely important that we find a venue was prepared to make us feel safe, comfortable, and as full of love as we deserved to feel on our wedding day. We can say with confidence that the College of Physicians made that happen. Liz displayed clear experience working with same-sex couples and provided multiple"non-traditional" options for our ceremony processional. My wife and I also found that, throughout the night, not only did our family and friends come up and congratulate us, many of the College of Physicians staff came to congratulate us as well, and told how much it meant to them to see us married. These were small, incredible moments that we did not expect but experienced with joy.
We cannot do anything but recommend the College of Physicians. Yes, the venue was organized and helpful. Yes, the ceremony and reception were beautiful. But most importantly, every person involved at every step in the process was supportive, interested, and excited for us to get married. We had the best experience we could have dreamed of.

The College of Physicians is stunning! We looked at 8 other venues in Philadelphia Center City area before seeing this building. As soon as we toured it and met with the events manager, Liz, we instantly knew this was the place for us.
We held our ceremony upstairs in Ashhurst Hall, the cocktail hour downstairs in Thomson Gallery which flowed into the Veranda & Medicinal Garden, and the reception upstairs in Mitchell Hall. The whole building has a magnificence to it. It’s not pretentious though, just dignified and beautiful.
It’s a truly unique space that you and your guests won’t forget!

I'm nearly three weeks out from my wedding at the College of Physicians through Catering By Design, and I still can't believe how amazing it was. The staff that helped us prepare for the big day were amazing, as were the staff on hand the day-of. Liz was our go-to contact person at the College after Diana got us set up. Liz was amazing--I am a nervous and meticulous planner that obsesses over minute details. Liz was there to answer every question and concern I had promptly, while also giving her advice and suggestions along the way. This was especially important for my wife and I as we planned the entire wedding while living in a completely different part of the country. In the end, this meant that during the wedding itself, my wife and I were care-free as everything went perfectly as planned. Catering By Design at the College is a well oiled machine--everything was taken care of and we enjoyed the day immensely.
The venue at the College was everything we had hoped for. Luckily the weather was perfect so we had our ceremony outdoors. Yet we would not have been worried if it was too hot or if it was raining, as one of the reasons why we chose the College in the first place was because their indoor ceremony space is just as beautiful as their outdoor garden. The ballroom for the reception was grand and made for the perfect setting for our party.
As for the food? Amazing. The cocktail hour food was delicious (CBD delivered our food to the bridal suite while our guests enjoyed downstairs). For dinner, we went with three stations: Mashed potato bar, tuscan grille, and a Taco Bar. We were not surprised by how great the food was, as we had gone to a tasting 8 months before the actual wedding date. The cake was super yummy too.
Overall, having our wedding at the College with CBD was a great experience, and we are so happy we trusted the staff at the College and at Catering by Design with producing one of the most important event of our lives.
