Perfect Twosday!
My Fiance and I decided to get married on 2/22/2022. We really loved the date, but only gave ourselves about six weeks to plan it (yikes)! Thanks to the awesome team at the Collector's Room it turned out to be everything we could have hoped for! The setting would have been perfect for a small or large group, but we opted for a small intimate setting with about 50 friends and family members. The space was easy to set up and the Beau Monde team was great at accommodating us with what we needed to personalize it. We would especially like to thank Shelle and Anna Lee as they were consistently responsive to questions, met with us and my planner whenever we asked, and helped throughout the evening to ensure that the event ran smoothly. We used the recommended caterers, Roots Catering, and people really enjoyed the food. I could not have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend this venue and this team for a great wedding experience.

The Collectors Room was an absolutely amazing space to have our wedding in. They were extremely accommodating, VERY responsive, and were able to help think outside of the box to get everything we wanted in a wedding! It was a magical experience and everyone of our guests could tell we were able to customize everything even down to the art on the walls! They helped us with vendors that were AMAZING! The wedding planner, the caterer (Roots) and the florist! I highly recommend this venue. Get in before they get booked out for years!The Collector's Room by Beau Monde's reply:

We found The Collectors Room by Beau Monde on wedding wire while comparing venues online. We scheduled a meeting with Katie, along with three other venues in the same day. We visited Beau Monde first and were absolutely blown away. We went to our other scheduled meetings but immediately afterwards came back to The Collectors Room and invited our parents. We knew this venue was the one! Katie was a huge reason right off the bat. She was so friendly, responsive and helpful. We loved the venue itself and it’s just beautiful. The artwork, furniture, greenery, patio, Elder Gallery, all included is worth so much and provides a very good template for decor and design. We loved how simple the process was with Beau Monde and Katie. She answered all of our questions quickly and was always straightforward and thorough. She helped us through a date change due to COVID concerns. There were a few changes with Roots catering (understandably through COVID) but Katie helped keep that communication smooth. I do wish we had a direct way or contact person with Roots as opposed to working through Katie but she answered every question and made every request happen. Our tasting with Roots was delicious and so fun. Highly recommend tasting EVERY item you plan on serving at your wedding , even if it costs extra to taste. You want to know what you’re feeding your guests. We nixed a couple items in the tasting process. Katie, Anna Lee and all Beau Monde staff were incredible and easy to work with. I live in Charlotte so I probably stopped in the venue 10 times during our planning process (22 month engagement, thanks COVID). The girls were always so friendly and happy to let me show friends and family the venue. Our wedding day was a breeze and everything went perfectly. Katie worked with our coordinator to ensure the day flowed and decor set up as planned. The food and drinks were delicious and served on time and smoothly. If anything went wrong, I never knew about it! All of the staff were extremely friendly and professional. We saved in the area of flowers and decor because The Collectors Room is well decorated and beautifully minimalist. The sun sets on the west side of the building so if you do an evening ceremony, the golden hour lighting that comes through the windows is absolutely stunning; time it so the sun isn't shining directly onto guests! I am so happy we found The Collectors Room and are so pleased with our decision. Perfect Venue for Our Wedding
The Collector’s Room was the absolutely perfect venue for our October 2021 wedding. We looked at a handful of venues in/around Uptown Charlotte but knew as soon as we walked in to the Collector’s Room that it was the spot for us. We had our ceremony in The Collector’s Room, cocktail hour in the Elder Gallery and back to the Collector’s Room for dinner/dancing/party. Because of all the gorgeous art on the walls, the tasteful finishes (chandeliers, hanging greenery), awesome wood bar, there was very little we had to do from a decor perspective. Working with the venue was absolutely seamless and we can’t say enough good things about Katie. She was extremely responsive, always available to help answer questions and was willing to do whatever she could to help bring our vision to life. While we chose not tot get ready on site, there is an awesome bridal suite and was a perfect spot for us to spend a few minutes post ceremony/before joining cocktail hour, as well as to hide away with the bridal party before walking down the aisle. The back patio is gorgeous with market lights hung, greenery galore and a super cute “garage” that had a foosball table. There seemed to be an endless collection of items we could have out/move (ie. Couches, day beds, boxwood walls) and we were able to work with the venue to have out exactly what we wanted..down to the number of pillows on a couch! Upon first meeting Mary Sue Boyle, the owner, I fell in love with her warm heart and more than accommodating personality. She was more than attentive in ensuring that I had all of the information I needed to close the deal with her. She made the decision process so easy that I did not really check anywhere else. Upon entering the space I could see it transformable into a magical space. They took care of the cocktails (specialty cocktails), in house bartender, and a DJ as well as set up for the catered food and all of the decorations for a REALLY great value price. I felt like a VIP at my own event the way they took care of EVERY detail. Ben was a gracious bartender and Katie was a great assistant to Mary Sue during the evening ensuring my guests and I were comfortable and had everything we needed. EVERYTHING. The communication was fantastic as I only had 2 weeks to plan the entire event. I spent zero time doing anything but curating the guest list and telling Mary Sue the vendors I wanted to work with for additional food and decorations. The ownership CARES about their clients. This is a hidden gem in South End---and is attached to a gorgeous art gallery so it not only adds square footage to the space, but a cool space for guests to view and appreciate art. Their relationships with other vendors shows how they take care of people they work with as well---they have one of the best DJ's in Charlotte, as I discovered DJ Spontaneous and I barely had a one time email exchange to give him the vibe I wanted. HE NAILED IT and everyone there is super professional. The night exceeded my expectations and was MAGICAL. -

Truly, the best venue of all time! The venue itself is fun and beautiful! The art adds such a special element. They have tons of chic couches and daybeds, along with beautiful greenery, and lovely lighting. I was overjoyed with how my day came together visually. The other highlight of The Collector's room is their amazing team! Katie, Mary Sue and Amandalis are a dream crew. They made me feel like part of the family! Tremendous to work with, so kind and super supportive. They had everything handled, great suggestions, and always brought a smile to my face!

Three weeks before my Wedding I received terrible news that my venue had closed down permanently due to a Bankruptcy. I was overwhelmed, stressed, sad, mad - just all the emotions you could possibly feel. I didn't know HOW I was going to find a venue that I liked or even LOVED that could compare to my former Venue until I walked into The Collector's Room. Katie greeted me upon entry with the biggest and sincere smile and you could tell she felt my pain in her eyes. Needless to say, I BOOKED the venue. Not just because it was absolutely beautiful, but because of the customer service I received from the minute my Mom and I walked through the door. Katie was so easy to talk to - she NEVER missed an email and was there with me literally every step of the way to answer any questions I needed, and when you're a Bride that's what you look for! If you want a unique space that's NOT cookie cutter with exceptional service then this is the place for you! Don't hesitate :)The Collector's Room by Beau Monde's reply:

SO proud to be a Beau Monde Bride!!!
Katie Sipple and the team at Beau Monde Events were truly FANTASTIC in ensuring our wedding was the BEST day of our dreams!!! It was an honor to be a “Beau Monde Bride” and have The Collector’s Room serve as host venue for our ceremony and reception, while utilizing the adjoining Elder Gallery for our pre-reception. Upon my first meeting with Katie, I had no doubt that she would give nothing less than 110% to help us orchestrate our special day. As we only had four months to plan our wedding from start to finish, we had a very short timeframe in which to make decisions on catering, linens, and logistics – and Katie TRULY has the experience and passion for helping those who are overwhelmed. We were also introduced to Kellyn Stamey with Roots Catering by the Beau Monde team, and both the culinary and beverage offerings were amazing. The Collector's Room was the perfect venue, and provided for a unique and special event experience for all of our guests. Thank you all!! My Fiancé and I got married at the Collector’s room on 11/9/2023 and it was such a wonderful experience! We were afraid the space would be a little large for our 35 person expected guest reception but the way the space is arranged gave guests plenty of opportunity to enjoy the intimate gathering. Staff consistently responded quickly to my questions – no matter how big or small. We used The Roots recommended catering and we could not have been more pleased. From the tasting to the leftovers – everything tasted amazing and the service was top tier. Access from uptown and the view of the skyline was exactly what we were looking for to make our day feel like a real event. The space has a vibe to it that is hard to find elsewhere in Charlotte and we would gladly recommend the venue to anyone looking for an elegant and artistic space. -

The Collector's Room is a stunning venue with the perfect mix of modern, industrial, and artistic touches! Our wedding here was so beautiful and the space suited our vision perfectly. We had a smaller wedding with 70 guests, and the venue was spacious enough to feel light and airy while still being warm and intimate. There are so many different floorplan and event flow options that the venue can be adapted to fit a variety of events and guest counts.
The Beau Monde team was a pleasure to work with. Despite the venue moving locations to a different neighborhood a couple months before our wedding day, Beau Monde kept us updated on the new space's progress every step of the way and assured us that our wedding would be just as gorgeous, if not more so, at the new location. And it was – with lots of natural sunlight, twinkling star lights hanging above our bar area and lounge, and lush greenery walls (plus a champagne wall for that wow factor).
Their catering partner, Roots, served such delightful food that our guests raved about, from the passed apps and dinner stations to treats and late-night bites. The bartending staff were so friendly and fun, and our signature cocktail was a hit.
We're so grateful to the Beau Monde team for helping to make our dream wedding come true at The Collector's Room. My husband's dad even bought us a painting from the venue as a wedding gift so we can be reminded of the immense joy and love we felt that day. The Collector’s Room is as STUNNING as it looks in the pictures. Our wedding, cocktail hour, and reception were absolutely gorgeous - and the natural light was INCREDIBLE during our pictures and ceremony. The catering and bar staff day-of was friendly, professional, and did a wonderful job.
With that said, working with the Beau Monde team during wedding planning was challenging, specifically when it came to pricing transparency. As someone who doesn’t know the event or wedding industry, I had a lot of trouble understanding how the contract vs. the Banquet Event Order (BEO) with Beau Monde + Roots Catering worked together. This caused a lot of issues as the Beau Monde team adjusted pricing when requested or when not requested (e.g., staff wage increases that were not communicated to us beforehand) - especially with the 22% administration fee and 4% credit card convenience fee bloating costs further.
For example, we opted to pay $50 to taste two additional items. However, the cost was actually $65 = $50 + 22% admin fee + 7.25% sales tax + 1% food and beverage tax. In another example, we requested the price for an upgrade to their gold silverware, and they noted in the BEO as $1.61/guest. It wasn’t until I asked that they clarified that it was $1.61/guest for forks + an additional $1.61/guest for knives = $3.22/guest for the set… plus 22% administration fee.
Their pricing may be normal, but I found their lack of communication and attention to detail to be very stressful. I, as the bride, 3 months before my wedding, had to make my own spreadsheet to double check any changes the Beau Monde team made to the BEO - and I caught many errors and new changes that were not communicated. I finally requested a call with the Beau Monde team, and they were open to our feedback and attempted to be as flexible as possible.
Perhaps most people don’t watch their budgets as closely as I do, but our Beau Monde grand total was about the same cost as my car (and ~70% of our wedding budget), so I wanted to make sure we were using it well. Wedding planning is stressful as-is, and I wish the Beau Monde team had had more respect and care for our planning experience with them. -
