If I could give The Boathouse at Sunday Park--as well as Kristan Hughes and her team--ten stars, I would. From the very first planning conversation to the final moments of the wedding reception, everything was handled with professionalism, grace, and genuine care. The setting itself is beautiful — the water views, the light pouring through the windows, the way the space feels both elegant and welcoming at the same time. Even in February, it was nice. The Garden Pavillion creates instant magic before you even add flowers or décor. But what truly sets this venue apart is the team.
Kristan Hughes is exceptional. She is calm under pressure, incredibly organized, and deeply invested in making sure every detail is executed flawlessly. Her communication was clear, her guidance was thoughtful, and her presence on the wedding day allowed everyone (and especially the bride and groom) to relax and be fully present with their loved ones.
Kristan's team operates like a well-oiled machine. Service was seamless, transitions were smooth, and every question was handled quickly and kindly. You can tell they take enormous pride in what they do. The food was outstanding, the bartenders were so much fun, the pacing was perfect, and the overall experience felt effortless — which we all know is the result of tremendous behind-the-scenes work. If you are considering The Boathouse at Sunday Park for your wedding or special event, do not hesitate. It is a spectacular venue supported by an extraordinary team. It comes across as being a very expensive venue, but turned out to be a great value. We will be back!

We just had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Boathouse at Sunday Park a week ago and we could not have been happier with everything!! The staff there are fantastic and they truly know what they are doing. It's a well oiled machine.
During our planning stages, they asked questions we hadn't thought of to make everything flow smoother. Kristan Hughes, our coordinator, offered suggestions that we absolutely loved. She was very easy to work with and took all our changes with out missing a beat. Everything was set up exactly as we envisioned - it was a dream come true! We heard from our floral people how amazing the Boathouse staff was setting up the dinner tables. The food was fantastic - we heard it over and over from our guests. We felt the cost was reasonable for what we were getting.
You can't go wrong with the view and the sunset here either. It's a stunning venue to look over the reservoir and then romantically see the sun go down.
If you are planning your wedding here, you are in really good hands!

The Boathouse is a beautiful venue with a well organized, full service solution for your wedding. We had a stress free, beautiful wedding thanks to the wedding organizer and dedicated staff-all provided in the wedding package. The convenience of having everything in one place was helpful and the outdoor wedding area and sunset made for a breathtaking evening and some very lovely pictures. We looked and 10 venues and this was the best overall value.

Perfect Day
We had our Wedding and Rehearsal Dinner at Sunday Park. From the initial communication with Amanda to Kristan supporting us on day of, we had the BEST experience! We found the venue to be affordable, and absolutely beautiful (especially in the spring time) requiring minimal decorations. The waterfront ceremony space speaks for itself! One thing my Bridal Party keeps raving about is the appetizers waiting for us immediately after the ceremony. Highly recommend!

Couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding!!
I can’t say enough about how amazing my wedding was thanks to the boathouse Sunday park. The venue first off is absolutely gorgeous having it by the water outside and being able to go inside after for the reception where there was beautiful lights and a rustic feel was absolutely incredible. They were able to accommodate all of our family, including those who had medical issues where they could not walk as easily as others and a lot of allergies. We have people who came with shellfish allergies and enjoyed themselves without any issues whatsoever. My wedding coordinator Kristan Hughes went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect and was so easy when it came to last minute changes and fixes. I had my entire faith put into her on my day and she did not disappoint.

We absolutely loved every part of experience with The Boathouse at Sunday Park and would highly recommend to any couple looking for an elegant, yet affordable, venue. The venue provides the space, tablecloths, dining ware, food, and a day of coordinator. This made the wedding planning process seamless. There were plenty of options to choose from. The space itself is beautiful, the ceremony space is on the water, and the sunset was incredible for photos. From the beginning, the staff were friendly and responsive. They went out of their way to promptly answer all of our questions and used their expertise to make suggestions that we would not have otherwise thought of. They were clear and upfront about all costs and we had no surprises at the end of the event. They provided many options for food, were accommodating to allergies. The food was all served hot and timely, and it was plentiful. Our coordinator, Kristan, was communicative, responsive, and was able to understand my vision, and elevate it. She checked on us the entire evening, ensuring that we always had access to food and drinks. We received nothing but compliments on the venue and food and would highly recommend this space to couples looking for top class wedding service.

Can't say enough how wonderful my daughter's wedding turned out. We had toured countless venues in the area and ending up going with the Boathouse -Sunday park. When you start adding up expenses that other venues were charging such as tables, chairs, linens, staff, and event coordinator, etc., the boathouse came out to be the biggest value by far. I can't say enough how amazing the staff was. From the initial meeting with Bonnie who helped us plan around our budget to the event coordinator, Bar tenders and staff members that helped pull off a flawless day, the service level was top notch. The Venue itself is beautiful. We had an outdoor ceremony, and we were blessed with the most perfect fall day however never lost any sleep over the weather knowing that the "Plan B" which would have been having the ceremony indoors Infront of a gorgeous fireplace would have ended up just as beautiful. The wedding meal and drink packages were great with many options to help personalize the vibe you are going with. Overall, I rate this place an A++

Our Perfect ‘Goldilocks’ Wedding Venue
We could not be happier that we chose the Boathouse at Sunday Park as our wedding venue. From the moment we toured the space, we fell in love with the ambiance. The garden ceremony area is beautiful and peaceful, and the cocktail patio overlooking the water created the perfect backdrop for photos and mingling. The venue is also wonderfully suited for small to medium-sized weddings. With about 70 guests, the Boathouse was our “Goldilocks” venue, not too big or too small… just right!
And it’s not just the venue’s beauty that makes it so great. The team at the Boathouse brought wedding and event planning expertise that gave us complete confidence throughout the process. They offered quarterly tastings and the one we attended was incredibly helpful for choosing our menu and meeting additional vendors. On top of that, we had two in-person meetings with our event coordinator to walk through and confirm wedding details.
Lastly, one of the best parts of choosing the Boathouse was the value, especially at a time when wedding costs can feel overwhelming. The venue is affordable without sacrificing quality, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. Our event coordinator, the bartenders, and the wait staff were all friendly, professional, and attentive. They consistently went above and beyond in ways that made it feel like we were receiving a much more premium service than what we paid for.
The Boathouse at Sunday Park is the perfect blend of beauty, practicality, and outstanding service. We are so grateful for the experience and would choose this venue again in a heartbeat.

Our Special Day!
Our wedding at this venue was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The location is simply stunning — the waterfront and garden views created such a romantic and peaceful atmosphere that left all our guests in awe. Every photo looks like it came straight out of a magazine.
The staff was exceptional throughout the entire process. From planning to the big day, they were attentive, responsive, and genuinely cared about making everything seamless. Amanda’s kindness, flexibility, and attention to detail stood out — she treated our wedding as her top priority and ensured every special touch, including having our four-legged baby as our ring bearer, was perfect.
The food was incredible, both in quality and presentation. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. Everything was served beautifully and tasted amazing.
When it came to the day-of logistics, the execution was flawless. The team was organized, professional, and ensured that every detail ran smoothly. We were able to relax and simply enjoy the moment, knowing everything was taken care of.
We also felt the venue offered great value — the pricing was reasonable, and so much was included in the packages, from tables and linens to all the essentials that made setup effortless.
One of our favorite things was the personalized touches. We never felt like “just another wedding.” The staff made everything feel special and uniquely ours. The thoughtful take-home bag with wedding food and wine at the end of the night was such a sweet surprise and the perfect way to end an unforgettable day.

This place was amazing! From the planner, day of Coordinator, to serving staff everyone was an absolute delight to work with. They provided meetings throughout the planning process to make sure your vision happens. The venue is a decent price and includes all your tables, linens, cutlery. The food was absolutely amazing! Getting married at The Boathouse at Sunday Park was perfect. From our first visit, we were struck by the breathtaking views of the water and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. It felt peaceful, romantic, and just right for what we wanted—something intimate and beautiful without feeling over-the-top.
The staff was incredible every step of the way. They were responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day special. We never felt like “just another wedding.” Our coordinator Amanda took the time to listen, offer helpful suggestions, and made the whole planning process so much less stressful.
And the food was amazing! The team was happy to accommodate dietary needs, and even helped us build a menu that our guests are still raving about.
But more than anything, what made it special was how it felt. The view of the water during our ceremony, the cozy vibe inside during dinner, and how easy it was to relax and be present in the moment. We will never forget it.

Magical wedding!
This was our magical reception venue on 08/24/24.
We first visited their other location in Rockets landing (which is an amazing venue with awesome views!!!), but it was out of our budget. Bonnie let us know they had a location at Sunday Park with a more affordable price for our date. We toured other locations that day but didn’t have time to go to Sunday Park. One month later, we decided to go and check out Sunday Park and WE IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE. We knew we had to have our reception there. I could speak hours about how magical the venue is (outdoor gardens, patio, architecture, lighting, waterfront views, etc). I have always loved to watch sunsets by the ocean/river/lake and this was a highlight of our wedding day!
Amanda was our point of contact during the organization and also our onsite coordinator the day of the wedding. We didn’t have a wedding planner and even though we highly recommend having one, we were very satisfied with how everything turned out. We were able to pick our favorite color for the table cloths and lines at no extra charge, they had our favorite cider (boldrock) in the beverage package, they accommodated all our food requests and even had non-alcoholic cider for the toast for some of our guests. Amanda guided us through all the planning with a template they had and helped us built our timeline! The day of the wedding, she made sure we were fed with delicious food ( hushpuppies and crab dip were top!!!!) and Amanda even helped with my wedding dress bustle!!!!!! Nobody could find it and it was time for our first dance but Amanda was there to help!!! Signature drink mojito was great and refreshing for our summer wedding. Our guest were very happy and some said it was one of the best weddings they had been too.
On top of all of this, I need to mention we are not local to the Richmond area and Amanda helped us working around our full-time work schedules in order to meet with her either virtually or in person at very convenient times for us.
We are beyond grateful for having chosen this venue! Really looking forward to coming back to eat here and who knows, many celebrating one of anniversaries here in the future!

We absolutely loved the Boathouse at Sunday Park for our October wedding. From our initial meeting and tour with Shayne, we knew that the Boathouse was the perfect location for exactly how we envisioned our wedding. We appreciated the multiple packages and catering options that were offered and felt everything was very fairly priced. We also appreciated the multiple options that were included in the wedding package, making our planning much easier! Amanda Hurley was absolutely amazing as our event coordinator and day of coordinator. Throughout the planning process, Amanda was extremely organized, helpful, and patient as we went back and forth on all of the decisions we needed to make. She made helpful suggestions and didn’t hesitate when we had a few special requests. She went above and beyond to help us set up our decor and ensured that the entire day went smoothly by keeping us all on time and coordinating between all of our vendors. On the day of our wedding, the entire Boathouse staff was extremely professional and attentive to our guests. The food was delicious and we received many compliments on how great everything was at the Boathouse. A Beautiful Fall Wedding
We loved working with the Boathouse Team to get the details right for our ceremony and reception. From many months out, our onsite coordinator Amanda and her team were sure to remind us of upcoming tastings, outstanding tasks from linens to food options, and answer all of our questions, big and small, right up to the wedding day itself. We also appreciate Amanda communicating with our vendors and wedding coordinator to make sure everyone was on the same page.
The Boathouse was a lovely spot for a wedding of about 100 people as well as a band. The outdoor ceremony space is a beautiful sight when the sun is out, and the quality of the venue helped convince us to go forward with an outdoor ceremony. We lucked out and had perfect weather for our day, but there was an option for an indoor ceremony setup if necessary as well as a tent covering outdoor seating on the pavilion--this provided much needed peace of mind in case of inclement weather, and it was nice to have both indoor and outdoor spaces where guests could hang out. We upgraded our dinner menu to the surf and turf option and thought it was well worth it; the filet mignon and lobster exceeded expectations and were a big hit among our guests. Throughout the evening, Liz and the rest of the Boathouse staff were just so friendly and helpful--they contributed greatly to the cheerful atmosphere of our day. We highly recommend the venue for both the ceremony and reception, and we truly felt supported by the Boathouse Team every step of the way.

Great experience!
We had a fantastic experience hosting our wedding reception at the Boathouse. The food and appetizers were delicious, the venue was beautiful, and the staff was always professional and flexible, and worked hard to make sure we had everything in place with no detail overlooked before the date.

We could not be happier with our experience at The Boathouse at Sunday Park! From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect thanks to the incredible team, especially Amanda and Kristan. The communication was fantastic—the team made every step of the process, from the initial tour to the food tasting, seamless and stress-free. Their attention to detail gave my husband and me complete confidence that our special day would be in the best hands.
On the day of, Kristan went above and beyond to make our wedding unforgettable. While the space itself was stunning and didn’t require much additional decor, Kristan set it up beautifully, creating a magical atmosphere. She truly saved the day when my mom’s zipper got stuck—one of the staff members even sewed it up on the spot! Kristan also ensured everything ran smoothly, even when we were running slightly behind schedule, and she was always there to check in on us during key moments. She brought us drinks and made sure we were taken care of in ways we didn’t even know we needed.
The thoughtful final touches were what truly set this venue apart. At the end of the night, they provided us with food to-go, knowing I hadn’t had much chance to eat due to all the emotions of the day. It was such a kind gesture and so appreciated.
We are beyond grateful to Amanda, Kristan, and the entire team for making our wedding day so special. If you’re looking for a venue with impeccable service, stunning space, and a team that truly cares all within a reasonable cost, look no further. The Boathouse is simply the best!

Beautiful wedding
I am the mother of the bride and we had her wedding at the Boathouse at Sunday Park. From the moment we arrived, we knew this was the spot for her wedding! She and her husband were able to sample all the foods that were available to plan their menu on their wedding day. The venue was gorgeous! The views were incredible and made pictures absolutely stunning! The staff that were there to help the day of the wedding were very professional and polite. A big shout out to Kristan Hughes- she was the wedding planner and was phenomenal! She was able to keep the wedding day flowing beautifully and keep us on the timeline. We could not have pulled off such an amazing day without her! I highly recommend The Boathouse at Sunday Park and Kristan for your wedding!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at The Boathouse at Sunday Park, and I can confidently say it was the best decision we made! From the initial inquiry to the final dance of the night and our grand exit, the entire experience was nothing short of magical.
The staff made everything easy and effortless. Our coordinator, Amanda, promptly answered every question we had throughout the planning process, ensuring we felt supported every step of the way. It was a relief to have such a dedicated team handling all the details; they were like wedding wizards, making sure everything went off without a hitch.
Now, let's talk about the food – oh my goodness! It was not only delicious but absolutely spectacular. Each dish was beautifully presented, and our guests are still raving about it weeks later. The chefs clearly have a passion for what they do, and it showed in every meal.

Despite planning our wedding from New York and navigating everything virtually, Kristan and Amanda's unwavering support and seamless coordination made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect, creating a relaxed and problem-free environment for us to fully enjoy our day.

10/06/23 a picture perfect wedding day!
When looking at venues for our wedding my husband and I knew we wanted a spot with a scenery and an option for indoor and outdoor use. The Boathouse was our second venue that we toured, and my Husband and I FELL IN LOVE with the waterfront view of Swift Creek Reservoir, as well as there beautiful garden ceremony space with a large garden pavilion building which was a perfect space for our 80+ guests.
We wanted our wedding planning to be easy and stress-free, so when we found out they were all inclusive (included tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and flatware) we jumped on it ASAP.
From the first meeting to the last and till our big day, The Boathouse was truly the best experience hands down! They were so persistent on emails and were so detailed with everything. It made our planning so much easier, knowing someone is looking over your big day and making sure everything it going according to plan. Our day of coordinator (also included) Amanda was AMAZING! I felt so bad for sending emails after emails, and making changes but she was so professional and patient throughout the entire process.
When our big day came, we ended up with a new coordinator named Kristan. Even though Kristan wasn't there for our planning, she made my day even better, Kristan was so attentive and kind. She literally came and checked on me multiple times to see if I needed anything. She felt my vibes and helped out where she could. PLEASE GIVE THIS GIRL A RAISE! (Thanks for the texting about my (fake) ring Kristan!)
Overall, We received so many compliments on our wedding space, from the waterfront to the garden, most of our guest couldn't believe they were in Midlothian,Virginia. The Boathouse at Sunday Park was the best decision we made throughout our wedding planning. Everything from what it includes and the straight up professionalism that comes with it.

Best Day Ever
Our wedding at the Boathouse at Sunday Park was an absolute dream! I am so thankful for Amanda, our day-of coordinator, for answering the million & one questions we had leading up the event, and the entire Boathouse staff for making us feel so pampered on our special day.
Despite the unexpected monsoon rains that prevented us from holding our ceremony outside, Amanda helped us come up with a great backup plan to make our reception space double as an intimate ceremony space. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful and all of our guests had a fabulous time. I cannot say enough great things about having our wedding her and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Breathtaking venue with great service
My day ran so smoothly. It was the best, most perfect day ever. Everyone at The Boathouse went above & beyond to make sure our day was special and ensured that our guests were happy. All of my guests raved about how beautiful the venue is and how great the food was. The staff, the food, the venue, everything...perfection. Amanda and Kristan were my "Day of Coordinators". Amanda was an excellent project manager and was super responsive with all of my questions related to the venue and reception. Kristan was with me on my wedding day and was so calm and organized. She kept the day moving a long with no issues. I absolutely would not change one thing about that day. If you want an absolutely beautiful venue, good food and excellent customer service, look no further than The Boathouse at Sunday Park.

Amazing! The wedding of our dreams!
The Boathouse at Sunday Park was everything and much more that we expected for our wedding venue. From our initial meetings with Anne, to our detailed planning with Amanda to our rehearsal and day of coordination with Kristan, everyone (including the entire staff) went above and beyond in making sure our special day went beautifully without any glitches! Without the support of Amanda and Kristan and the entire staff, we couldn't have had this beautiful wedding with two ceremonies of our choice! Kristan, you are an Angel! The view was spectacular and the service was top notch. We chose the boathouse at Sunday park for the beautiful scenery and all inclusive nature. It also provides an option to have an outdoor or indoor ceremony and reception is onsite so no need to have guests drive elsewhere. This venue was the most affordable option for us as well. Any food not eaten by the end of the night they will send home with you. The day-of coordinators are phenomenal and take all of the stress out of the set up and take down process. I highly recommend at least taking a tour of this venue!

The Boathouse is simply the full package
If I could, I'd host every event at The Boathouse at Sunday Park. The setting and views speak for themselves, but the staff goes to extreme lengths to elevate the whole experience to a new level. I fell in love with The Boathouse quickly and wholeheartedly when my fiancé and I were shopping for a wedding venue. After signing the contract, we were paired with our wedding coordinator, Amanda. Amanda was so amazing to work with. She answered all of my questions (and I had a lot of them) and truly made me feel like I could make my wedding look however and be whatever I wanted. The Boathouse is basically a one stop shop, but they offer such a variety of services that can help your event feel unique. The colors, the room layout, the food... there were so many choices, but we didn't have to stress over finding outside vendors except for the big stuff like photographer, DJ, etc. They do a lot of events and they've got it down to a science, but they still allow for individuality and customization. Our guests were so complimentary of the venue, the staff, the food, the drinks, all of it. It was the best day of our lives and The Boathouse played such a huge role in it. We are so grateful to have been able to be married in such a special and beautiful place!

Y'all, stop your search and book the Boathouse at Sunday Park right now! The waterfront ceremony site is gorgeous. You barely need any décor because it is just perfect as it is. The reception hall is light and airy. The food is delicious. And my NUMBER ONE reason to book: Amanda Hurley our day-of-coordinator (provided by the Boathouse) was a true ROCK STAR. She was so pleasant to work with, responsive, confident and calm, knowledgeable. She made the whole day feel like an effortless breeze. She anticipated our every need even before we knew we needed something.

Beautiful location for a brunch fall wedding
My daughters brunch wedding at Sunday Park was one of the best decisions they made that day. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the flexibility The Boathouse has with deco allowed us to make the space unique.
The reception area is also just a beautiful with the stone fireplace and wood mantle. Again we had flexibility and were able to add our own personal touches.
The bar, food and service were absolutely spot on and our guests raved about the food and drinks.
The wedding coordinator Amanda was very responsive and so easy to work with. She was a very calming presence and reassured us everything would be taken care of which it fully was!
I would highly recommend having a wedding at the Boathouse Sunday Park. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing venue!
I cannot express how wonderful this venue is. It’s not only gorgeous on the water but the staff and coordinators went above and beyond for us. They answered my daily emails and made sure our day ran smoothly and was absolutely perfect. We received so many compliments on their service and delicious brunch food. This venue is all-inclusive where you get the rentals and day-of coordinator. This is a MUST and worth the extra money. Weekday Brunch Wedding
My husband and I originally planned to get married in 2020 and decided to postpone until this October. Laura made postponing easy and answered all my questions beforehand.
Our day-of coordinator, Amanda, was amazing from our initial planning meeting! She promptly answered all my emails and had everything organized the day of. She also matched our theme!
All of the staff were so attentive - they made sure we were hydrated, actually ate and had a drink when we needed it. Also, all of our guests said they loved the food!
We chose the Boathouse because of the views, space and having everything in one location. It did not disappoint and was perfect for our wedding. Would definitely recommend!

We chose to get married in Midlothian because of the venue! We live out of town and all our guests are from out of town so it was a destination wedding ALL BECAUSE HOW BEAUTIFUL THE BOATHOUSE AT SUNDAY PARK IS! We absolutely love it and highly recommend it. The Boathouse team helped us so much with finding the Sheffield cottage for our family to stay at, they were amazing with recommendations for the rehearsal dinner, hotels, other vendors, and even fun activities for our guests to do. The day of the wedding was so perfect, everything looked so beautiful, the service was amazing and the food was delicious! We LOVED the seafood and boathouse vibe- and our signature drink! The boathouse was so great to work with and had an amazing food selection for a very reasonable and fair price. Thank you so much to the boathouse team! Laura Silva was so sweet and kind the day of and truly became like a family/ friend vs. a vendor. We love you Boathouse!

Beautiful Location and Venue

All I can say is WOW! We had an absolutely beautiful wedding day at the Boathouse. They make it so easy for you and Amanda Hurley is the best. Almost 2 months later and our guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was and how delicious the food was. Definitely looking forward to working with them again.

Amanda the venue coordinator was hands down the best part.of this venue. The Boathouse is so beautiful. The food was amazing. And the booze were perfect. We had a night wesding amd the room had a beautiful romantic glow. Amanda took my decor and went above and beyond. Everything was seamless. All of our guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. We had a ton of food they gave us to enjoy for days after the wedding. Even our band said it was the best wedding they had played for. This venue and Amanda allowed me to enjoy the day amd not stress over any detail. I hugged her so many times at the end of the night she was probably annoyed. If you want a romantic wedding that is all inclusive for a reasonable price, this is your choice! The shrimp and grits and filet were a hit!

Beautiful Venue, Great Food and Amazing Staff
We had our ceremony and reception at the Sunday Park location. Amanda, our wedding planner, was amazing along with all other staff on-site that evening. Timelines were kept and everyone went along as scheduled throughout the night. The food and set up were perfect and the venue is very spacious even with a party of 100 people. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress free venue!

The location is amazing and our daughter's wedding was so beautiful this past October weekend. But when you add in, how professional our Boathouse event coordinator, Amanda, was from her design eye, her efficient coordination of everything, and always smiling, then add in the wait staff, the bar staff, their professionalism and service, and excellent food, this was beyond extraordinary! Amazing experience all around!
This review is long long overdue but I just had to share just how amazing the Boathouse at Sunday Park was for our wedding. The moment we toured the Boathouse on a rainy summer day I knew it was the perfect location to get married. The greenery next to the water was just perfect. You know when you love a venue in the rain, it's going to be even more perfect when it's not raining. Everything about the planning process from our initial to our final meetings was smooth. Johanna is the absolute best; I want to hire her to run my life because she is so thorough but calm and truly became a friend through this process. Everything from the food to the decor options to the staff were incredible and our guests raved too! I would have another party at the Boathouse in a heartbeat!

Absolutely Perfect! Dream Wedding Day!
The Boathouse at Sunday Park was the PERFECT place to hold our reception! Our day of coordinator, Laura, was amazing. She set everything up perfectly, answered our every question and made sure everything went smoothly. The staff was professional and made sure that the bride and groom had plenty of food and always had a drink available. I could not have asked for a better wedding day experience. The food was AMAZING! At the end of the night they packed everything up quickly and provided the bride and groom with tons of food to go! If you are thinking of somewhere to hold your wedding or reception- this is the perfect choice! They take care of all the small details so that you can fully enjoy your day :)

Perfect Bohemian Fall Wedding
Sara & the team at The Boathouse at Sunday Park made my special day perfect. Everything about the day was spectacular, except the freezing November temp.. but still no complaints. Sara made sure everything ran smoothly and worked with all my vendors to make sure my day was nothing short of pure bliss. The food was exceptional, all my guests raved about the menu! The day went by so fast but it went off without any hiccups, and well If there was a hiccup, Sara made sure they would not be noticed.
The boathouse is amazing because everything is Included, bar, food, linens, tables and chairs, and a venue coordinator that was absolutely a pleasure to work with and made sure my vision came to life.

The Boathouse at Sunday Park is so incredibly beautiful and the perfect setting for a wedding! My coordinator was Johanna and she was ON TOP OF IT! I had a meeting with Johanna two months before my wedding where she went through every aspect of the wedding so I knew exactly what I still needed to do and what things I needed to talk to other vendors about. I had another meeting with her two weeks before the wedding to finalize everything. Throughout the year I worked with Johanna, she answered all my emails quickly and thoroughly (and I had a lot of questions!). When I needed to make any last minute changes, Johanna was super accommodating. She updated my floor plan several times when I had changes in my guest count. The ceremony and reception ran so smoothly thanks to Johanna and everyone at the Boathouse. Johanna was in contact with the DJ through walkie talkie throughout the ceremony, telling him when to change the music. Immediately after the ceremony a server brought a tray of hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails for the bridal party to eat before beginning pictures. The food and the service during the reception were amazing and we got a lot of compliments from guests! We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at the Boathouse!!

Fabulous Venue
Our daughter got married October 14th at the Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the impeccable, friendly, and personal service we received. Our Event Coordinator was Elaine Rush, and from the time we booked the event in March until the wedding day, Elaine kept us on track to be sure everything was covered and that we didn’t forget any small, but important details. Boathouse has a complete vendor list they provide, and Elaine steered us to the PERFECT DJ and officiant. Besides the bride and groom, the STAR of the day was THE FOOD! My husband and I were so proud to be hosts if this event. The venue itself is beautiful with views of the James River, and the location provides a visual nod to both historic Richmond and views of the contemporary architecture from the city’s financial district. We highly recommend Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing for ANY special event.

It literally was my magical dream wedding
Wow I could go on and on about this venue! IT WAS MY DREAM WEDDING! Weather was beautiful by the water, staff were friendly and attentive. My coordinator did a great job making sure everything was ready to go and in the right order. The food....well don’t even get me started on that because it was phenomenal! So yummy! Many people prefer a Friday night or Saturday night wedding, but I went with a Saturday morning/afternoon wedding which turned out to be a winner! Cheaper and also, the restaurant doesn’t open until 4pm on Saturdays so we had the place to ourselves! Food was pricey, but it was so delicious I won’t complain too much. Everything went over so smoothly, I couldn’t even believe it was MY wedding! I was so nervous that something would go wrong, but nothing! The Boathouse at Sunday Park really helped make my wedding dreams come true by being so easy to work with, and not to mention, BEAUTIFUL!! Get married here and you too will have your dream wedding with views to make you speechless!

Most Perfect Venue
My wedding at the Boathouse at Sunday Park could not have been more perfect if the Pinterest fairy planned it herself. I can not express the gratitude I feel towards the Boathouse assigned coordinator, Johanna, and the Boathouse staff for the level of customer service and genuine care they took for my husband and me on our wedding day. They made every dream come true and, above that, every member of the wait staff and event team made me feel like I had actual friends running my wedding who genuinely cared about making everything perfect! It never felt like anyone was doing a job because of the graciousness and kindness of all involved - and trust me they were all working their butts.
Walking into the reception, I saw the party of my dreams with all of my plans and designs brought to life. There is not a single thing I would change about the day and I appreciate everything The Boathouse did to make it perfect... Including getting my parents packed up and out of there so fast my dad was in bed snoring before midnight. Bravo.

The Boathouse at Sunday Park is extraordinarily beautiful. You get a beautiful garden wedding on the waterfront- something that is totally unique to the Boathouse. Not only is the beauty wonderful, but the staff at the Boathouse operates so efficiently and makes the wedding planning process so much easier. The perks of booking with the Boathouse at first seemed nice enough, but the included linens, ample chairs, on-site coordinator, midnight snack bag, and everything else ended up making my life a whole lot easier during a time where I was incredibly busy with wedding planning, job things, and other life things going on. I had the most perfect wedding day and I cannot thank the staff at the Boathouse enough!

Johanna, the day-of coordinator was really a key addition to our day, as she made sure everything went smoothly and we stuck to the time schedule. We absolutely loved our experience of working with the Boathouse at Sunday park. All the staff there were so friendly and made the entire process as smooth as possible. They also recommended our DJ and Photographer and both of those vendors were equally as amazing. The food was fantastic and we are still receiving compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed everything.
We also were especially grateful for Sara, the event coordinator. We had weather issues the day of the wedding and she was so patient and reassuring the entire time and made sure to inform us of all our options while making sure we were comfortable with all the decisions being made. Everything worked out flawlessly and we are so grateful to have had her help.

The Boathouse is the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding! Guests could not get over how beautiful the landscaping was, and the Swift Creek Reservoir right behind us made for incredible photos. I could not have asked for a better venue then The Boathouse at Sunday Park! Everything was exceptional! From the food, bar, tables and linens, the ceremony, and reception, I could not have envisioned it going as wonderful as it did...it was the absolute best day! There was some on and off rain the day of our wedding, but it stopped just long enough for our ceremony to remain outside. Johanna and Sara were so terrific to work with. Johanna was quick to respond to my MANY emails and questions and Sara was a huge help the day of the wedding. It is so beautiful there and the staff made sure we were happy and did so much amazing work. Our guests had a great time and repeatedly said so. I can't say enough great things about this venue. The event coordinator was so responsive, accommodating to any request we had, and was always pleasant to communicate with. They made all the stresses of wedding planning so much easier. The day of coordinator made sure everything went smoothly and constantly checked on the bride and groom to make sure we were okay. Her calm and collected nature REALLY helped this nervous bride the morning of the wedding. We were so pleasantly surprised the day of our wedding that they decorated for us - and we had a lot of decorations! The venue is absolutely stunning and we were so fortunate to have such gorgeous weather that highlighted the venue's beauty even more. This venue is seriously worth every penny and I would say it is a steal considering all this venue has to offer. I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. The Boathouse at Sunday park was incredible. I loved how attentive the staff were and some even assisted with set up and clean up. Drinks and appetizers were constantly being handed out. I highly recommend the Boathouse at Sunday Park. We were lucky enough to secure the venue for our October wedding on fairly short notice (3 months out) and are so glad we did. It's a great value for the money and a beautiful setting too. All my guests raved about it. At first, I was a little afraid the venue wouldn't provide the privacy I was seeking (with the restaurant and park being right there), but on my wedding day, I didn't have that concern at all. It felt like a totally private area for our wedding and reception. Alli was our coordinator and was awesome. She was extremely responsive and had all the details under control. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful venue for a wedding!! Susan, the venue coordinator, was EXCELLENT and a true pleasure to work with. Susan was very helpful in our planning meetings prior to our wedding, and she made the wedding day run very smoothly. The venue was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious, and the staff was wonderful. Wish we could do it again as it all went by way too fast!!

Our wedding reception was absolutely amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make sure that our reception was incredible. The place is gorgeous and the food is amazing. We could not have had a more amazing reception!

I couldn't imagine a more perfect venue for my daughter's wedding reception!! Susan was the absolute BEST to work with, and she made sure every detail was perfect!! The waitstaff, bartenders and staff were so professional and friendly! I can't say enough about how delicious the food was! I heard so many compliments!! Best experience-highly recommend them!!!

Perfect Venue! Everything about the Boathouse at Sunday Park was beautiful. Our ceremony in the garden was perfect. The landscaping, stone walkway and the gazebo with the Swift Creek Reservoir as the backdrop provided an incredible setting. All of our guests loved the food and kept commenting on how it was the best wedding food they ever had. Everyone on the Boathouse team was wonderful to work with. The entire process from start to finish was very enjoyable. I had the pleasure of working with Susan as my coordinator and she went above and beyond! She truly made it the best experience. I highly recommend this venue!

Not only is the venue gorgeous... The food is absolutely delicious and the wedding coordinator we worked with, Susan, was wonderful! The perfect combination of outside beauty and a comfortable inside reception area. My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with everything they did and helped with! Susan was the perfect person to work with and made sure things ran smoothly. Thank you Susan, for helping make our wedding day dreams come true!

We are so glad we chose The Boathouse at Sunday Park as our wedding venue! Our event coordinator, Susan, was very professional and knowledgeable which put us at ease with the whole planning process. The venue is absolutely beautiful, food was delicious (our guests are STILL raving over the food), and the service was great! Unfortunately, it rained right before our ceremony so we had to take it indoors but the staff at the Boathouse was very accommodating despite us waiting last minute to make a decision. Couldn't have asked for a better venue!

The Boathouse at Sunday Park was the perfect place to have our wedding in June! We could not have been happier with our choice. Growing up on the reservoir I could have not pictured my wedding anywhere else. The new Gardens design was stunning and show cased the reservoir beautifully! Our friends and family were raving about the view and how gorgeous everything was. Susan, the planner was amazing and helped me throughout the entire process and kept me sane. She was always there to help with anything I needed, gave me great suggestions and assured me that everything would be wonderful. I truly thank her for being so attentive and making our wedding go on without a hitch! The staff was top notch! They were professional, friendly and always asking if we needed anything or our families needed anything, which we really appreciate. My husband and I had the best day and we are so happy to have made such a perfect choice! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I have no complaints about my wedding ceremony and reception experience at The Boathouse at Sunday Park. Susan and her staff was wonderful and very attentive to the needs of us and our guests, the location is beautiful, and the food was delicious! Many of our guests have told us repeatedly how much they loved the venue.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Boathouse at Sunday Park, and it was absolutely amazing. The food, service, view, professionalism, etc. were all great. The event coordinator, Susan, is fantastic. She goes above and beyond to make sure that everything runs smoothly on the wedding day. They are very accommodating, and willing to make last-minute changes to make sure that everyone is happy. To this day our wedding guests are commenting on how delicious the food was, and how impressed the were by the portions! We have eaten at Boathouse several times, and weren't expecting the full-size entrees to be served at the wedding, but we were proven wrong! Everything ran so smoothly on our wedding day, and we would definitely recommend this venue to anyone!

I don't have a single complaint about my experience with The Boathouse at Sunday Park. Throughout my planning process, the wedding day, and beyond that, Susan and her staff were absolutely fantastic. They were so accommodating to all of my requests and suggestions (except no sparklers hehe). They helped set up our decorations and were so helpful. Our wedding day had some hiccups, with another vendor, and they did everything they could to smooth out the situation and make our day as perfect as can be. The food was wonderful, the drinks were great, and the service was perfect. We received so many compliments about our wedding day and our venue- how the servers were ready immediately after the ceremony to pass drinks and hors d'oeuvres, the staff was so friendly, the Boathouse was gorgeous, and several family members said it was the nicest wedding they had been to. We were lucky and had perfect weather, so our ceremony was outside as planned. At the end of the night, the Boathouse sent us off with a bag of goodies for a midnight snack. Susan even followed up with me after the wedding to help resolve my issue with the other vendor. I can't say enough great things about her and the staff at the Boathouse.

The Boathouse at Sunday Park is truly an amazing venue! The ceremony garden is just beautiful. It overlooks the Swift Creek Reservoir which makes for lovely pictures at sunset. And directly next to it is the reception pavilion, which was just recently renovated earlier in the year and looks absolutely gorgeous. It features a beautiful fireplace, reclaimed wood walls, glass doors to overlook the reservoir, and a bridal suite.
But what I really appreciated was all that was included in the one price--ceremony location, reception location, tables, chairs, food and drink (which includes a bar package) provided by The Boathouse Restaurant, linens, and a wedding coordinator. It was a huge time and money-saver to already have all these aspects covered by one vendor. Susan was my wedding coordinator and she was wonderful throughout the whole planning process. She is professional, courteous, and responds quickly to any emails/phone calls. I also had hired a separate wedding planner and they both worked extremely well together to help make my big day so special. I was speechless when I saw the decorated venue for the first time. They really made my vision come to life so much better than I would have ever imagined. It really was a relief to have Susan and her team on my wedding day! She and her wait staff were so friendly with my guests. Throughout the night, I received many compliments on the courteousness of the staff and quality/portion size of the food. Many said it was the best service and venue they’ve ever seen at a wedding. That being said; I highly recommend this vendor. They really did an amazing job making my big day so perfect and memorable.

I had my ceremony and reception at the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. Hands down, by far, the best wedding vendor purchase I made for the entire event. Never once did I regret signing a contract with them. They did an awesome job!

We started our wedding planning 4 months before and we could not have done it so easily without Anne Roy at Sunday Park! And the day of the event??? Her and the entire staff were so amazing! This was an "encore" wedding for us both and since my mother was in charge the first time around (20+ years ago!), Anne thought of everything I would not have. She was always on time with her correspondence, she is professional to the "nth" degree and doesn't have the arrogance or ego that you find with so many wedding planners/coordinators! I wouldn't trade that day and all the planning leading up to it for anything and I would do it all exactly the same if I had to.
The food was wonderful, the layout was perfect and I would bet she may have had a say in the sunset because it was perfect!! Thanks to everyone at Sunday Park!!

The Boathouse at Sunday Park to say amazing is an understatement! Besides the location itself being stunning, the employees are so devoted to making sure your day is perfect! Teanna, the wedding coordinator went above and beyond our expectations! The day would not have happened so smoothly if it was not for her, seriously! Our guests were in awe over our servers and bartenders! We are so excited that we picked the location we did.

Julia (our coordinator) was an absolute pleasure to work with. She managed the entire day and all of the minute details that it entailed with perfection. Friends and family had rave reviews for everything from the service to the atmosphere - I highly recommend considering the Boathouse for your big day!
