The BEST venue!!!
We had the most amazing experience having our reception at the Bichwood. Claire and Marlice helped us curate the perfect day and were incredibly responsive and receptive to everything we wanted. We are so grateful to have had our wedding here. -

We had an AMAZING experience hosting our wedding at The Birchwood!! The team was responsive, thoughtful, and truly invested in making our day special. They answered all of our questions quickly and made the entire planning process feel smooth and even fun!
One thing we especially appreciated was their help hitting our minimum. When we thought we might come in under, they worked with us to create a sommelier experience—on we highly recommend!! It was affordable and added such an elevated touch to the event, with a professional sommelier guiding guests through a variety of wines. It ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the night.
We held both our ceremony and reception at The Birchwood, which made everything seamless. Our guests loved being able to stay on-site at the hotel, turning the wedding into a full weekend experience. It really made the celebration feel more intimate and special.
Marlice was fantastic to work with, and Claire was incredibly helpful when it came to navigating our needs. Both of them went above and beyond, and we truly can’t say enough good things about their support and professionalism. We feel like they are family now!
The food was outstanding, and the bar service was just as impressive. The team also worked with us to create signature cocktails, which added a fun and personal touch. During our planning process, they even updated the space with new chairs and carpeting, both of which we absolutely loved.
It’s a beautiful, well-run venue with an amazing team behind it. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to come back again someday. We highly recommend it to anyone considering a wedding venue!

We had the most wonderful experience getting married at The Birchwood in downtown St. Petersburg. From the very beginning, Marlice and Claire were incredible to work with. They are organized, responsive, and truly on top of every detail every step of the way. Throughout the weekend, guests repeatedly came up to us to rave about how beautiful St. Pete is for a wedding, especially in December, and how absolutely outstanding the food was. The ballroom itself is simply stunning and the entire team does an amazing job of making you feel completely at home. We cannot recommend The Birchwood or its people more highly. It was truly the perfect place to celebrate our wedding with the people we love! -

We highly recommend The Birchwood! Our wedding had 123 guests and the ballroom was the perfect size for that guest count. Everything was so organized down the tiniest details, which resulted in a well run and absolutely amazing party. We had many guests tell us it was some of the most fun they've ever had at a wedding! From the beautiful built in bar to the patio to the top tier food to the gorgeous view on the rooftop for cocktail hour, the night flew by because of how much fun we had. We got great feedback from guests too!
It is also a gorgeous space that can accommodate many different decor styles but that doesn't need a lot of "extra" decor to look beautiful, which was helpful to me as someone who would be intimidated by a full DIY space but appreciated the flexibility to pick a theme that suited us. It definitely photographs well too!
Finally and most importantly, the staff are so helpful and professional. We worked with Marlice and Claire for most of our planning process and they were both so organized, responsive and kind. For example, on our final walkthrough, Marlice stayed for extra time to watch us practice our first dance on the dance floor -- she did not need to do that and we really appreciated it. And she was always available to answer any question big or small.

We only have incredible things to say about our entire experience at the Birchwood! We are local to St. Pete and have always gone to the Canopy and Birch & Vine for food, cocktails and an amazing view but we never imagined how incredible it would be to have our wedding here. From the moment we inquired, to the tasting, the planning, and then our reception that was hosted in the ballroom, our experience was 10/10. All of the staff and especially Claire, our coordinator were extremely communicative, accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we felt satisfied and at ease through the entire process. Having our wedding on new years eve at the birchwood was something out of a dream. We got to go on the balcony and champagne toast to the new year with all of our friends and family. I highly recommend the birchwood for any event that you have, they really do have it all. Thank you again for the time of our lives!! -

I can’t even put into words how INCREDIBLE our experience at the Birchwood was. The venue itself is unique and in the best location possible, in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg. The view from the rooftop (cocktail hour) was absolutely breathtaking and a huge selling point for us. You don’t have to stress about finding a place to provide food and drinks as the Birchwood makes their food - and all of our guests raved about it. From the apps, to the salad, to the entree options, it all was delicious and unlike your average wedding food. There was nothing average about our night at the Birchwood. All of the staff went above and beyond for us. Specifically, Claire the Birchwood coordinator. She is a major part of our amazing experience here. Claire always calmed my anxiety and stress during the planning process and had a major helping hand in putting together our dream wedding. She is so kind and easy to get along with. Her expertise in weddings really showed while working with her. If you are interested in getting married in St. Petersburg, putting the Birchwood on your list of venues to tour is a MUST. -

The Birchwood is a great spot for couples that want to keep their wedding stress-free and logistically simple. We had most of our wedding guests coming from out of town, and The Birchwood's ability to accommodate our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception under one roof made things seamless for everyone who came. The food is phenomenal, and the service is even better. A special thanks to everything Claire and Yvonne did behind the scenes! We highly recommend the bride and groom stay on site in the beautiful hotel suites as well! -

Best experience - best night of our lives
We got married this past weekend, 4:20:2024, and we would LOVE to relive every moment of our night all over again. Days later, and we are still receiving complements from our 90+ guest raving about the food, music, vibe, location etc. Everything about our wedding day went right, and nothing went wrong. Claire was one of the team members we communicated most with, and she was the one who kept refilling our sweetheart table with food and drinks during dinner, and checking in on us. But all team members were truly amazing. My husband and I expected a lot due to pricing and it being our wedding, and the Birchwood/Claire delivered beyond expectations. The food was truly so good, and ALL our guests had empty plates during dinner when we went around the tables to say hi!!! Drinks were phenomenal. Truly no complaints. We loved the location especially, and our cocktail hour being upgraded to the rooftop. The balcony in the ballroom was awesome to have for fresh air and quiet space as well. Just an amazing experience all around from start to finish. -

Our wedding at The Birchwood was spectacular. The venue is beautiful, Grace and the rest of the staff amazing and so easy to work with, and the location is great. From the beginning, communication was so easy and we felt so welcomed. As soon as we finished our venue tour, I knew that this was the venue that I wanted to get married in. Grace was very accessible and always answered our questions promptly throughout the planning process. The ability to have both the ceremony and reception in the same beautiful space was wonderful and convenient. The food was delicious, and we have gotten so many raving reviews from our guests. The location right near the water and across the street from the park made for beautiful views and great spots for photos. It ended up being a little more expensive than we had originally anticipated, but it was definitely worth it and I would choose this venue again if I had to do it all over again.The Birchwood's reply:

I HIGHLY recommend The Birchwood to any couples or anyone looking for an event space in downtown St. Pete. Our friends at The Birchwood took fantastic care of us and ensured every bit of our wedding day was perfect. The Birchwood truly makes the planning process so easy.
We worked with Grace who walked us through everything. The in-house bar and catering not only made it easier to not have to coordinate with another vendor, but the food is also DELICIOUS! We got dozens of compliments from our guests on how much they liked the appetizers and meals.
The hotel is elegant and gorgeous, those rooms and stunning bathrooms, will make any bride feel like a queen on her wedding day. Being able to stay the night before and whole day right at the venue is so convenient and helps to set the mood for the weekend.
Out-of-town guests absolutely loved the location of The Birchwood. The central downtown spot allowed our guests to get a taste of St. Pete life and the spectacular views from The Canopy rooftop bar.

From the moment of check-in to the moment of check-out, The Birchwood was the most wonderful and perfect venue! We got married in the Grand Ballroom at The Birchwood on July 1st, 2023, and it was a day we will forever remember. Our ceremony was off-site but when we got back to The Birchwood, the Ballroom looked perfect! Grace and the entire Birchwood team made the night smooth between food service, dancing, toasts, and anything the night threw at us. Our 170 guests raved about the food, especially the Filet, and we had some picky eaters! We are still getting people saying how beautiful our wedding venue was and how much fun they had celebrating. Grace and her team worked perfectly with our coordinator, DJ, and florist to ensure the timeline was executed according to plan. We had some last minute changes with our guests and Grace was quick to respond to any requests and questions. I would highly recommend The Birchwood to anyone looking for a fantastic location with a hard-working team and incredible food. My Husband and I had our wedding reception at The Birchwood in April 2022 and it was nothing short of AMAZING. From the day we drove through Downtown St. Pete looking for a destination wedding spot and laid eyes on The Birchwood, we were sold. Mary was so kind, informative and accommodating at our first meeting and working with Grace during the planning process was a delight. She was very responsive and always one step ahead.
All in all, the experience was seamless, from planning to execution. The Grand Ballroom was beautiful and spacious, the bathrooms were spotless and the spacious balcony was a great bonus space for our guests. To date, we continue to receive compliments from guests on the venue, location, delicious food and drinks and the spectacular service. I can’t say enough about our birchwood experience! We had our wedding reception there 3/31 and it was absolutely magical.
Grace took such amazing care of us from start to finish, she made everything go as smoothly as possible. The food was DELICIOUS! All of our guest were very impressed, the ballroom is so beautiful, the staff was really amazing!
If I could redo it all there’s nothing I’d change.
We were in the absolute best hands. We also had our after party at the canopy upstairs which was so much fun, food and drinks were great too! 10/10 if you’re looking to have an amazing wedding highly recommend!

My husband (still feels weird to say husband!) and I just recently got married at The Birchwood and I can’t imagine how you could have a more perfect wedding anywhere else. Every member of the staff from the coordinators to bartenders ensured that our day ran smoothly. The venue was absolutely beautiful, the food was wonderful and the staff were excellent. Special shout out to Grace, the Special Event Coordinator with The Birchwood, who helped us deal with last minute changes and was a dream to work with through our wedding planning process. We were originally worried the Grand Prix would cause hiccups with our wedding, but it actually added to our weekend (fireworks!). I can’t recommend The Birchwood for anyone’s wedding enough!The Birchwood's reply:

Our experience with The Birchwood was perfect from start to finish! The day I booked the venue, I was greeted with champagne by the sweetest event coordinator, Grace Summa. Let me just say, Grace was made for her role and responded to every email and call with enthusiasm and professionalism. She truly made the whole experience so wonderful and stress-free (even from a bride planning from out of state)! Mary Barnett and Leja Apple also were so wonderful to work with and made sure we stayed organized for our big day. We hosted our cocktail hour on the Canopy and we were just blown away at how beautiful the start to our evening was! The Canopy gave our out of town guests the most amazing view of downtown and the fire fit added magnificent ambiance! We had our reception in the Grand Ballroom for 155 guests and it was just beautiful. We loved the chandeliers and the balcony, and the dance floor was the perfect size to accommodate the stage for our band. The food was so delicious, I had multiple guests comment on how great everything tasted! The Birchwood will be a very special place for my family and I in years to come. Anyone can see how beautiful this venue is, but what really stood out was how professional and sweet Grace was! From the first tour, I could tell she knew her stuff and was so organized. The entire planning process was so easy and she worked with us as if we were the only wedding she had (which is definitely not the case, as the venue is extremely popular). Our wedding turned out beautiful, the venue was perfect, and the food is AMAZING. Everyone raved to us about how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. So glad we chose The Birchwood!!
Almost a year after our wedding and still so happy that we had our reception at The Birchwood! We fell in love with the venue as soon as we toured it, and from there the entire experience was 10/10. The team worked with us closely and truly valued the things we wanted on our big day. Everything turned out PERFECT day of, and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome for our wedding!!! The space is beautiful and food was AMAZING. Still to this day, we have guests telling us it was the best wedding food they ever had. Grace, Mary, Leja, and the whole team provided a one of a kind, luxury experience for our wedding. Our guests raved about the venue and the food. They have not stopped talking about the experience. A couple of them booked trips to go back already! This was a destination wedding for us but Grace made everything so easy and was flexible with our needs as we planned from a distance. I had my wedding at the Birchwood on April 8, 2022 and could not be happier! Where to even start… everything was absolutely perfect! My husband and I fell in love with the venue when we first toured it. The hotel is beautiful and the privacy of the ballroom, with its own terraces was the perfect setting for us and our guests.
Beyond the venue, the staff and our coordinators were BEYOND amazing. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and supportive. I had gotten ready in the hotel room the day of the wedding, which I absolutely recommend, and during the chaos of getting ready and photographers moving furniture to get pictures I remember thinking “oh well, guess this will be a mess for the rest of the night, I’ll just let it go.” But came back to the room after my first look and pictures, and it was completely cleaned and restocked! Such a simple thing helped make the room a relaxing retreat and it meant so much.
Heather was with me on the day of the wedding and I couldn’t be more appreciative of her. She was so helpful and as I was beginning to feel more exhausted from the long day and emotions she got me everything I needed—from hot tea, champagne, and my hubby so we could have a moment together before the reception. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I never considered how important someone playing this role would be and am blessed she was there.
Our guests still rave about the location and how good the food was. It was delicious and beautifully plated.

We got married at the Birchwood and I could not have dreamed up a more perfect wedding venue!
From the first contact with Mary, they were responsive, helpful and accommodating to our schedules. We fell in love within the first few minutes of our tour.
Initially we worked with Heather as the coordinator, and then Grace took over. She is the nicest person, answered every email and phone call promptly and was so helpful in making all our dreams a reality. They say wedding planning is stressful, but she made it so seamless and fun along the way.
On each payment, Leja was so patient and helpful.
We had quite a few guests stay at the Birchwood the weekend of the wedding and hotel staff was helpful, friendly and the rooms were beautiful.
The day of the wedding went so perfectly. Staff is so efficient and professional and the banquet hall is beautiful. I could not believe how they were able to convert the room between our ceremony and reception.
Food was amazing, the bar staff was great and kept drinks full the entire night.
It was the absolute perfect day/night and I am so grateful that we found the Birchwood for our wedding venue. -

As a girl who has not been dreaming of planning a wedding her whole life, the process overwhelmed me pretty quickly. But once we decided on the Birchwood, things really did fall into place! The food is incredible, the staff goes above and beyond (shout out to Grace!) and the ballroom is just beautiful. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked in to the set up room, and we only added flowers from outside the venue! They helped with planning and definitely keep you on track! Our after party on the rooftop was icing on the cake. Cannot express how happy we were that day and are still on cloud 9 thanks to the Birchwood! -

The Birchwood was the last venue we toured when deciding where to host our wedding and we definitely saved the best for last. Not only is the venue absolutely gorgeous, but what really sold us was the Birchwood team. Mary was so attentive in providing our initial quotes and booking, Heather and Grace were so helpful in calming my nerves throughout the wedding planning process and made the planning so easy. We booked our reception at the Birchwood after having our ceremony at Sunken Gardens. The team they have there, Grace specifically, went above and beyond our expectations. We hadn’t expected an archway over our table at the head of the room but it made a beautiful addition, they also threw some extras on the table centerpieces that made the day even more special. Everything was smooth from the initial meeting through the execution.

We got married at the Birchwood last weekend, and the venue exceeded our expectations in every single way!
First, the Birchwood's customer service is impeccable. Grace, the venue coordinator, responded to each of my questions thoroughly and promptly. She made the planning process easy, letting me know when different decisions needed to be made and explaining all of my options. Every Birchwood employee I interacted with was pleasant and helpful.
The Birchwood was also incredibly understanding when I had to change my guest count in the weeks before the wedding because of the Omicron variant. Grace didn't flinch once despite me having to change my seating chart a million times. I so appreciated them working with me through that difficult time!
The food at the wedding was OUTSTANDING. Many of my wedding guests are self-described foodies, and they raved about how delicious the food was. I tried three of our four entrees during the reception, and each exceeded my expectations. This isn't typical wedding food; these are quality meals that you would find at very high-end restaurants. I'm getting hungry just thinking about them!
The Birchwood's ballroom is simply beautiful. My guests LOVED watching the sun set on the venue balconies. The chandeliers in the ballroom are so elegant and eye-catching. This is the perfect backdrop for a classy and elegant reception.
In all, the Birchwood went above and beyond for us. I'm so happy we picked it as our venue. I highly, highly recommend it! -

I can not rave about our wedding experience at the Birchwood enough! Such processional team members and planning throughout the entire process. I planned this whole wedding from states away and Heather and Grace were just phenomenal. Not to mention the move of our wedding date from COVID. Talk about a place who knows what they are doing! Our guests could not stop raving about the beautiful venue, expectational service and food! Our guests are still raving about how great our food and drinks were! I could not have asked for a better wedding here. It was truly everything I ever dreamed up and more. Heather and Grace were so accommodating throughout the entire process and even helped with guests who cancelled last minute. We booked The Birchwood as our wedding venue in November 2020 for an August 2021 ceremony. The first person we were in contact with was Mary Barnett. She greeted our family with champagne and was very confident about the customer service we would receive during our wedding. From that moment on, we knew that The Birchwood is where we wanted to have our wedding. It was a very convenient location since we were able to get ready in their beautiful hotel rooms! The getting ready pictures we took in the rooms were stunning!
We can’t thank The Birchwood enough for hosting our wedding in their Ballroom. If it wasn’t for Heather Lorenz and the entire staff, our wedding would not have gone so smoothly! We really appreciate the time they took to make us feel special on our wedding day! Our entire family keeps raving on how beautiful the rooms were, and how nice everyone was to our family! Lauren at the front desk also went above and beyond for our family.

Happily Ever After
My now husband initially proposed to me at the Birchwood and it was perfect. Considering how amazing the Birchwood was, I had to have my wedding there. We had a meeting with Heather Lorenz and I knew then that this was the place. Heather was amazing and so accommodating regarding everything. They made me feel so comfortable and helped with every decision and detail. If I had to go back and do it again, I wouldn’t change anything. The ballroom was absolutely gorgeous, and everything was exactly how I wanted it. The staff was prompt and courteous and we heard nothing but great things from everyone that attended. The food was even better the day of the wedding and we were absolutely blown away. We are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary at the Birchwood. I want to lead this review by saying that Heather Lorenz at the Birchwood is an extremely valuable asset to their team. She became our favorite representative amongst all of our vendors and truly was a pleasure to work with. We loved the food at Birch and Vine, and the dining food for our wedding did not come up short. The entire staff was attentive, and I cannot think of a single hickup. Do yourself a favor, and book the night of your wedding at their hotel. This made everything super convenient and we even held an after party on the rooftop at the canopy where we were able to let a little bit more loose. The venue is beautiful and Heather is very organized and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was perfect, she always answered back promptly to any questions we had, and was there to see that our wedding day went smoothly. If you're on the fence with multiple different vendor and are looking for class and personality, hire this venue! My now husband and I looked at so many different venues and The Birchwood just stuck out to us. We kept going back and looking over the information that was presented to us and we just fell more in love with it each time! The Ballroom is absolutely gorgeous and goes with any decorum you want to have for your wedding theme. Plus the view of the St. Pete Pier and the water was beautiful!
Heather was a huge help with the whole process! She assisted us the whole way up to the day of our wedding, from going over different set ups, to helping us build our wedding menu, and all the way to helping us set up the venue the day before our wedding reception, all while keeping in close contact with us! The day of, she made sure we had a private moment for at least 5 minutes, brought us something to snack on, and even helped my mother bustle my wedding dress (7 layers and 21 buttons!) all before dinner! It's only been a week since we've been married, and our guests are still raving about the reception! The food was delicious and very well prepared and the staff was absolutely amazing with making everything run smoothly and even took it in stride when we were running a bit behind.
We plan on celebrating each anniversary here just because it feels like home to us and it's a gorgeous place the stay! We highly recommend checking this place out and just see how beautiful this venue is!The Birchwood's reply:

Wow... I don't know where to begin. My (now) husband & I worked with The Birchwood for ~8 months to plan the most important day of our life. We toured a few other venues, but it was an easy decision for us to choose The Birchwood for our Big Day. We mostly worked with Leja, Mary, & Heather to ensure that everything was just perfect for our cocktail hour and reception. Despite planning a wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Birchwood made it EASY! Heather is an absolute sweetheart. She promptly and kindly responded to all of our questions and asks -- despite how silly some of them must of been. My husband is in the USMC and The Birchwood honored his service by giving us a free champagne toast and a few other things. Our day was absolutely everything we ever dreamed of it to be. As the bride, I can say that everything seemingly went according to the plan. The week of the wedding, we recognized that we could potentially be facing rainy weather. The Birchwood and our day-of-coordinator promptly worked together to come up with a backup plan -- reaching out to our other vendors, asking them to set up early in case it rained. We got married at the Birchwood March 2020, and I know that if we had not chosen the Birchwood as our venue, we would have always regretted it! The Birchwood is a one stop shop for ceremony and reception location, amazing food, liquor, and they have gorgeous hotel rooms onsite. The biggest stresses for me when planning were having to get separate vendors for everything and being overwhelmed with navigating through all of the options. Being able to check so much off my to do list by having my wedding at the Birchwood was such a huge relief. The staff is also amazing, the event coordinator Heather was always so responsive and easy to work with, she made planning as stress free as possible, and made me feel like a priority. And we are so grateful that they allowed us to even cancel and rebook our wedding date for a year later at one point, they truly care and gave empathy which is very uncommon nowadays! The Banquet Manager Yvonne did such an amazing job, and the Banquet Chef Carl blew everyone away with how delicious the food was, we still have people talking about how great the food was, and how it was displayed so beautifully! It’s the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding, and I’m really not just saying that because it was mine! The banquet menu has so many options including food stations, a raw bar, pasta bar, potato bar , Mac and cheese bar, and so much more! I also loved being able to customize/create our own food choices to represent our Latin culture, and being able to mix and match items off of the menu instead of having a generic menu. They also have several options for bar , and they have service staff already available so there is no need to have to worry about any of that! All of the staff are well trained and super professional! My husband and I, and all of our guests had an amazing time from start to finish! The ballroom is breath taking, and it requires minimal decor since it’s already so gorgeous. We also loved that we could customize the floor plan because the dance floor can be moved, so we weren’t forced to follow a standard plan for arranging the room. We were able to stay and get ready on site in the boutique hotel, and also had friends and family that stayed onsite as well. They have a very spacious bridal suite, where Myself and my wedding party were able to get hair and makeup done comfortably, and have a space for food and drinks as we got ready. They also have a gorgeous stand alone tub that’s great for photos. We had both our ceremony and reception in the grand ballroom, and the flipping of the room was seem less and not inconvenient or noticeable at all. At the end of the night we went up to the rooftop with a few guests and had some more drinks in a private cabana before calling it a night! Our wedding day was the day before lockdown due to Covid 19, and so it was the last time we were all really able to be in a large group and carefree, and it has been a very happy memory to look back on during these times! Wow - where to begin. We were fortunate to have the most picture-perfect wedding at The Birchwood last January 2020. To the point that, one year later, our family and friends constantly share their favorite stories from the weekend and remind us what an absolutely perfect wedding it was. From the sunset views from The Canopy, to the decor of the ballroom, to the outstanding food - I have to agree, our venue felt straight out of a fairytale. After celebrating a long engagement, my husband and I searched endlessly to find the perfect venue. We were surprised and ecstatic to find it so close to home, and in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg. From our initial outreach to Heather and the rest of the team at The Birchwood - all the way through our special day - the team was always quick to reply. No question was too small and no request too crazy. The team was also proactive reaching out with updates and setting up appointment times to meet, to make sure our planning was on track and our wedding day everything we imagined (and more!).
With the majority of the rooms booked at The Birchwood by our guests, it felt as if we had a private hotel all to our group for the weekend! And after having a picturesque ceremony and reception in the ballroom day of - all of which went by entirely too quickly! - we ended the evening reserving space up at The Canopy to end the night with more appetizers and celebratory drinks with our family and friends.

We are so happy we decided to book the Birchwood grand ballroom as the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. Since our very first meeting with Heather Lorenz and her exceptional team I knew our event would go off without a hitch! Heather and her team were responsive, calm, organized and had creative ideas or suggestions to make our day as smooth as possible. The weekend of our wedding the Birchwood staff treated us and our guest as V.I.P.'s. The food was absolutely delicious and the tasting menu selection prior to the wedding was a wonderful experience. Our venue was decorated beautifully and their staff was amazing at our reception. Truly our dream wedding. My husband and I would highly recommend the Birchwood and look forward to celebrating our one year anniversary with a weekend getaway at the hotel.

One of a Kind
From the moment we walked into the Grand Ballroom at The Birchwood we knew that was the spot we would celebrate our wedding. One aspect that was top of our list in choosing a wedding reception venue was customization. We wanted to customize each menu item, from canapes to the final cheese course and everything in between. The team at The Birchwood put together a custom 5-course dinner for us together with a curated wine pairing and signature cocktails. It was everything we dreamed of having on the day. During dinner, Chef came out to share the process of creating this menu with our guests. It was a true joy to share that moment with him.
Other considerations were the vibe of the venue. The Birchwood's somewhat modern, somewhat old world, Gatsby vibe was a gorgeous launch pad for creating the atmosphere we wanted. The staff is incredibly kind and gracious as well as professional and knowledgeable about how to make our vision come to life. We had a lot of moving pieces with our wedding and with that came a lot of questions. They patiently answered all of our questions, found ways to work in each element we wanted for the day, and were a joy to work with. Honestly, the process, and on the day, the entire team was as excited as we were to execute our vision.

I am an event planner and recently had a venue cancel my bride and groom's wedding 6 weeks before the date, due to the virus. We instantly thought of the Birchwood and have received top-notch service since day one. Both Mary and Heather are genuine, kind, professional and overall just on top of it! They quickly took us on a walk-through the next day and customized options that were perfect for the bride and groom. Wedding reception
We booked our wedding reception a year in advance with Heather Lorenz as our coordinator. Communication with Heather was excellent. The front desk staff was wonderful and allowed us to show our families the ballroom 3 different times during the year. We enjoyed the champagne toast with Heather while going over our packet. 4 months before our wedding reception we had our tasting and the chef and Heather made us feel special. The chef went out of his way to make a custom plate per our request and it was phenomenal! The day of our wedding, Heather took care of many small projects per our request and everything turned out beautifully! We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding reception! 5-STAR Wedding Reception!
The Birchwood is the most classic gem in downtown St. Pete! When my husband and I first got engaged, we knew we wanted a downtown St. Pete wedding and to also find a reception venue that had a great view of the water. Plus, a venue in the heart of downtown so our out-of-town guests could explore all that the area has to offer. The Birchwood was the perfect venue that encompassed everything we wanted. The ballroom provided a more intimate setting, yet could also fit all 150 guests very comfortably. It can be difficult to find a venue that already fits with your “theme” (without having to completely drape/cover the entire room), but the Birchwood ballroom’s classic, traditional style with a hint of modern and gold accents fit our theme perfectly. The ballroom is truly stunning as-is! We didn’t have to worry about over-the-top extra décor expenses. Our very first tour was an immediate “when you know, you know” reaction. Heather was so welcoming and friendly. My husband and I had a 2-year engagement and Heather was with us every step of the way! Throughout the whole process she was so helpful with numerous proposals, exploring our options with décor, providing advice on room layout, being flexible with our schedules and so much more. It was also convenient that The Birchwood hosts their own Bridal Show. This way we could meet and interview their recommended vendors. The Birchwood is known for their gourmet menu and their wedding menu did not disappoint. The food was outstanding and we were even able to curate the entrees. Chef Ken created a late night snack for us - after our favorite food, which was a HUGE hit with our guests! The entire team was so accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process. On the wedding day, the Bridal Party all got ready at The Birchwood and the staff was so friendly and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. They even set up a breakfast buffet by the rooms so we could make sure everyone was able to eat while getting ready! My husband worked with Grace to coordinate an “after-party” at the Canopy. They were able to bring up any leftover late night snacks and extra desserts for our guests who wanted to keep the party going. Our wedding at the Birchwood was absolutely perfect! You couldn't ask for a better downtown location. The goregous ballroom and private balcony made for an incredible setting that impressed all our guests. High complements to the chef for the very delicious food. After doing much research, I truly feel the Birchwood is an amazing value for an all-inclusive package. We had considered other venues, but once you added in all the neccessary items, tables/chairs, linens, centerpieces, catering and bar services this was hands down less expensive and way more fancy! Not to mention we didn't have to coordinate all those seperate vendors. Heather was kind enough to let us use their in house centerpieces (which were beautiful), saving us time, money and hassle transporting to and from. We were able to just walk in, add a few personal touches and enjoy our day :)The Birchwood's reply:

Perfect Rehearsal Dinner
We hosted 52 people in the Ballroom and it was intimate and elegant! The service was impeccable and the food outstanding. Heather Lorenz went above and beyond to make the night memorable and beautiful. I highly recommend working with her and the staff at The Birchwood.The Birchwood's reply:

Love at First Sight
We got married back in June of 2019, and 8 months later our guests are still talking about how great our wedding was! Before wedding shopping, my husband and I spent a lot of time at the Canopy and Birch & Vine, bringing all of our friends up to the rooftop and enjoying so many great meals in the restaurant. I honestly didn’t even know that there was a venue space in the same building, but when my husband sent me a link to the event space… It was literally love at first sight for me. But like any smart bride, I weighed my options and shopped around a bit. My husband and I had our list of “non-negotiables”, like downtown location, reasonable prices, and most importantly good food. Then, we had our list of “nice to haves” like view of the bay, attentive staff, built in prep/hotel rooms, and a venue that we wouldn’t have to add too much to. After touring the Birchwood, and chatting with Mary and Heather, all of our “nice to haves” became “non-negotiables” and we knew the Birchwood was for us.
Once we locked on a venue, it was smooth sailing, and that’s all thanks to the Birchwood team. They had the best recommendations on other vendors and layouts. They shared their knowledge on what worked best in their space, and were honest about things they have learned from previous events. As a bride that was planning the wedding herself, I realized there were a lot of things I never thought about, and I felt like I had more questions that I thought I would. Heather was so patient and offered so much great advice, but always supported by decisions. No matter how many questions I had, or how many of my family members wanted to see the venue, Heather was so responsive and always excited to hear from me.
Fast forward to our wedding day, and we were so happy we went with the Birchwood for so many reasons. We rented out both suites and had 10 women and one flower girl getting ready in one of the rooms and hanging out/photos in the other. The Birchwood team made sure we had everything we needed, and more – from tables/high top chairs for the makeup artists to nice champagne glasses for photos. It was so convenient being in the same location as the reception – my vendors were able to pop upstairs if needed, and it was so easy. We took great photos with the natural lighting from those double doors, and the group shots were so cute on the canopy bed. We did have our ceremony off-site, but were right back again for the reception. During cocktail hour, my husband and I stayed in our room and Heather brought us each our favorite drinks (which she had noted down before our wedding day) and some of our appetizers. When it was time to walk in, it was my first look of everything pulled together and it looked AMAZING. We even used the chairs that come with the venue (I was a little hesitant) and they looked great, so glad we didn’t spend any extra money on that! We did our dances, and sat down to eat. We were served first and finished our food before anyone even had a chance to come up and disturb us. This bride ate on her wedding day! As the night went on, non-stop, we heard nothing but great things –like the amazing photos our guests took outside with the view, the beautiful chandeliers, and the “best food they have ever had at a wedding”. Very long story short – Birchwood was perfect from start to finish, and I constantly ask my husband if we can do it all again – maybe a 1 year vow renewal at the Birchwood?The Birchwood's reply:

We were very impressed by all that the Birchwood had to offer! From its fabulous decor, delicious food, and great location to its gorgeous hotel rooms and rooftop bar, The Birchwood is a one of a kind venue. Heather and her team did a phenomenal job accommodating all of our wants, needs, and special requests.
From the very beginning, the Birchwood made us feel like we were their only bride and groom. Our very personal welcome meeting included delicious food, vendor recommendations, and even Heather's personal "tips for the bride". Heather took time out of her busy day to take us on several tours when family came to visit, and was always just an e-mail or phone call away. She gave us tips and suggestions along the way and was extremely patient with our indecisiveness. Heather went above and beyond to keep us updated and on track; she even let us know ahead of time that a festival would be happening nearby over our wedding weekend, so we could be sure to book enough spots for our vendors and guests.
During our wedding weekend Heather continued to be her bright and cheery self which helped keep us relaxed. She facilitated our wedding material drop-offs and even helped us unload the car when we got there. Throughout our wedding she checked in multiple times to make sure everything was going well, brought us drinks, and set up a beautiful display of appetizers and champagne in our hotel room! Our one and only critique is that our chicken dish did not seem quite as good as we thought it was at our food tasting. Everything else was better than imagined! We and our guests were thoroughly impressed by the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service at The Birchwood. Thank you again!The Birchwood's reply:

We loved our experience with the Birchwood for our Augusta 2019 wedding! We worked with Heather, who always responded super quickly to my emails, even on days I knew she wasn't in the office. She was sweet, flexible, and super easy to work with. The venue itself is beautiful and the perfect size for a personal wedding or event. I felt like we all fit in the Grand Ballroom perfectly with space to spare. My guests are still raving about the dinner the Birchwood staff provided! The food was AMAZING, classy, and there were so many options. I would totallt recommend the Birchwood to anyone looking for a venue that makes things personal!The Birchwood's reply:

My husband and I got married in an intimate elopement style ceremony in California followed by an "at home reception" at the gorgeous Birchwood the following week. I cannot say enough about the Birchwood team. Heather, Rebecca, Chef Lee and Chef Ken made our night absolute perfection. The team was so helpful throughout the entire planning process and was willing to work with us on every detail no matter how big or how small. We had a complete customized stations style menu with foods from 4 different countries that are most special to us as a couple. All our guests raved about the food...and my only regret is that I didn't eat more of it. It was incredible. From initial planning, to tastings, to night of execution - our wedding reception would not have been what it was without this team. I would recommend the Birchwood a million times over.The Birchwood's reply:
