We absolutely loved Carlo! Truly went above and beyond for us. He seems to really care about the couples he works with. He did a great job entertaining our guests the whole time. I don’t think anyone left the dance floor all night. We had so much!!

Fantastic experience

This group made our low key wedding day such a memorable event. The beautifully coordinated uplighting made for a gorgeous backdrop and the music was perfect for our day. Special shout out to Kelly who was there for the whole day for us. She did everything from overseeing the photo booth to taking care of the tiniest details. We couldn’t have made it through the day without her. The team was so professional… they let us enjoy our wedding day.

We honestly can't say enough good things about Paul and his services! He was always so flexible with meeting us and super detail oriented! He made planning the best part of the day - the partying part :) - very easy and complete prior to the day. A DJ can make or break a reception, and he made ours incredible!! He was knowledgable of all our requests, and he is so passionate about what he does. We would recommend him to anybody we know that is getting married!!

Paul was great, he made our wedding planning process so enjoyable and easy. He was extremely flexible when meeting with us and he was so responsive to all my calls and emails. On our wedding day he helped coordinate everything in order to make sure the day ran flawlessly, and he even attended our rehearsal so that he could meet he entire bridal party! I can't say enough great things about Paul and his staff! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ, videographer, or wedding planner!

Absolutely the best part about planning our wedding!!!!! Syracuse wedding helped us sooo much with so many different services!!! Such as uplighting, host, DJ and just made everything so perfect!!! Everything that DJ Paul Manzari did was AMAZING! From the light fixtures, to the quality of his service, to the fact that he kept EVERYONE on the dance floor all night long until the reception was over! He flowed the songs perfectly and knew exactly what everyone wanted to hear to dance. There were no pauses which is exactly what we wanted! He played the songs we wanted, introduced everyone correctly, and you could hear the excitement in his voice which made everyone know it was going to be a great time! People have told us that our wedding was the best wedding they've been to and I wholeheartedly believe he is a big reason for that! Thank you so much Paul for all of your work, you are AWESOME!!!!

Paul was an absolute pleasure to work with. I live in Boston, so meeting Paul in person wasn't an option for me. Instead, we Facetimed several times to plan out the wedding which was great! He is very detailed oriented and I felt confident in him leading up to the wedding. He's so invested, he actually came to our rehearsal! It was a relief having him there and knowing everything would be perfect day of.

Speaking of that, our wedding day was perfect. Paul did a great job with the sound for our ceremony. My husband and I said our own vows and everyone in the crowd could hear us loud and clear. The music through the cocktail hour and dinner was great and the dance floor was lively all night! We had uplighting and it really made a difference in the room. I also had a couple of special requests and Paul was very accommodating. His team even surprised my husband and I by taking some video of our big day and passed out glow sticks at night to dance with. Paul went above and beyond and I would recommend him and his team to anyone!

Booking with Paul at Moonwalk Entertainment was one of the best decisions I made with planning my wedding. It started with our connection through Thumbtack website. He then took the time to talk to me on the phone through what his plan was and what our plan would be for going through the wedding. We had several meetings in between for which he was always incredibly prepared, flexible, and friendly. He responds to emails and calls so quickly and is always so accommodating. He orchestrated all of the other vendors involved in the day and he played just the perfect music for our group. If I had to do it all again (which the wedding was so much fun with a lit dance floor) I would hire Moonwalk Entertainment again in a heartbeat, and if I ever throw a party in need of DJ service again I'll hire Paul without thinking twice. He was an asset to the success of our wedding day and such a pleasure to work with!

We had the pleasure of watching Carl work on my sisters wedding back in May of 2014. After seeing how perfect their day was, we just knew from the start he was the guy who was going to help us with ours. Our wedding was July 16th, 2016 and it was a magical day - all made possible by Carl.

Carl provided a smorgasbord of services - and we used every single one. We knew exactly what we 'wanted' in our minds but had such a hard time describing it. That's where the magic of Carl came in. He instantly knew what we wanted, and how it was to be unique in its own way. We met well over a dozen times in his office - sometimes just to chat - because he is such a people person. We started as clients and quickly felt like family.

If you are planning your big day - I urge you to give him a chance to feel you out as clients. He can provide up-lighting, videography, planning - his calligraphy is ridiculously awesome - I can go on and on...

Dollar per dollar - he was the all-in-one package who provided the class and elegance you would want and expect from a wedding vendor. With all those wackos out there (you've seen it on social media) of people getting cheated/ not receiving proper treatment / cant hear their music... take solace in understanding this is risk-free. He treats your wedding day like it was his own - and that's worth more than anything.

We love Carl and the work he can do - and since our day was so perfect (because of him) we just hope that other people will hire him and have the best day of their life just like we did.

Do yourself a favor - hire this man and his team!

• Paul did a wonderful job for us. Beginning with the consultations, Paul was all about keeping us at ease while making sure we were getting what we wanted. We were expecting the typical DJ experience (good music and quality sound system) but Paul blew us away. The up lighting transformed the venue. Paul brought multiple systems to make transitions to other rooms simple and exceeded our expectations with his professionalism and eye for timing. He delivered a 10/10 experience!

We are so glad that we hired Paul as he helped to ensure we had a perfect, memorable day.

Carl was absolutely amazing!! My husband and I originally were going with another DJ who could no longer accomadate our day (through no fault of his own) and that DJ contacted Carl N at Syracuse weddings who graciously accepted to do our wedding. I was apprehensive at first because I had not personally hand picked this DJ like I had the previous but boy was I wrong!! Carl is an absolutely amazing businessman and is professional, curious, flexible, you name it he can make it happen for you! He was not only my DJ but my confidont, my planner, my organizer and honestly my shrink! He has so much experience he is an amazing accomplice to any wedding. And don't get me started on the actually DJ/music part!! Our dance floor was never empty!!! Cannot say enough good things about this man and this company!!

Our wedding was on May 7th 2016. And it was an absolute perfect day with the help of Syracuse Weddings! They provided the music for the ceremony, and lights, music, mood, and more than words are able to describe for the reception.
With the five or six (who knows maybe more) planning sessions we mapped out the entirety of our day. At the end of it all, we were left with no questions or concerns about how the day would flow, a complete sense of organization, a template of the day for my bridal party and family to know what to expect, and total planning that helped soothe my detail crazy mind and allowed me to relax on my big day and not worry about whether something I had hoped for would be carried out or not. That in itself is completely priceless. I knew if we had discussed it, it would happen to the best of Carl's ability.
Our wishes for the day were always put first over convenience, and our ideas that needed some tweaking were discussed and made into the best form of our original thoughts.
With all of the planning, it made the day into a complete blast. My husband and I danced the whole time because the song choices were so on point we couldn't sit down for even one song.
The unique touches we wanted and the ones Carl suggested came alive on the day of. It kept our guests engaged and more apart of the day than they would have been otherwise. And they made the day so one of a kind it oozed myself and my husband's personality from start to finish.
If you are looking for just a DJ, then I suggest looking elsewhere. But if you are looking for something more, then Syracuse Weddings is the only place you need to look, they have everything you need to make your day the best day of your life.

Carl provided DJ services for our son's wedding and rehearsal dinner in July 2015. He was extremely professional, well organized and focused for both events. His preparation was superb, and the evenings flowed smoothly thanks to his expertise and easy going manner. The music was appropriate and varied to fit the many different musical tastes of our family members and the dance floor was packed all evening!
Carl was instrumental in making the weekend a wonderful success. We highly recommend him. In fact, we already have him booked again for our daughter's wedding in 2017!

Music and lighting has always been a passion of my husband’s so of course when it came to picking out vendors I left that part to him. At the time, I had no idea how much of an impact Carl and his team would have on bringing our entire wedding weekend together. From day one, Carl made an effort to get to know James and I both individually and as a couple, he was genuinely interested in learning all he could about our relationship, families and wedding party. He helped us to create our perfect wedding reception and made sure that everything went just as we had planned. My husband and I had so many ideas going into our meetings and he worked with us to make them even better. We ended up going with the biggest package offered, and after seeing how everything turned out would do it all over again. Not only did Carl and his team create a beautiful atmosphere both at the rehearsal dinner and the reception, they also brought a sense of ease to the entire weekend. The dance floor was packed the entire time, no one wanted the night to end. I cannot say enough about Carl and his team. Thank you for helping us create or perfect day.

What can I say about Carl and DJ By Design besides that he was one of the best aspects of the whole wedding planning process! My husband hired Carl and would not tell me anything about him until we met. He knew that I was pretty stressed over the whole wedding planning process and that I was having trouble finding any of it fun. After meeting with Carl my attitude had changed! He made planning fun! He's been in the DJ/lighting/planning business a long time and he really knows what he's doing. I can't pick just one favorite aspect of his work, but here's some examples. We had Carl do up-lighting (of course) and also under the table lighting which he could control to go from a warm, dinner-type ambiance, to party time. He also was so cool, I'll repeat, SO COOL about coming up with fun song selections for everything. Did you know you need to pick a song to cut the cake to? I didn't either. He also does amazing calligraphy, which my husband utilized to create a gorgeous wedding-day gift for me. If you're looking for someone who can do it all, look no further. He's so professional, brings a great team, keeps your day running smoothly, and is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. I wish I could get married again and hire him sooner just to get to spend more time with him!.

DJ By Design was so incredibly helpful in our wedding planning process. They asked all the right questions to understand what was important to us and our style, and made sure the music, decor, and schedule reflected us. They had great music suggestions for our ceremony and special dances, and played great music throughout the reception that kept guests out on the dance floor. They were very personable throughout the reception, as well, making fun announcements and keeping the guests engaged. The lighting provided was also beautiful, it worked really well with the room and other decor.

Due to bad weather, our ceremony and reception were moved from outdoors to inside at the last minute. When I let DJ By Design know, they made changes without any problems and were great at alleviating all my stress over it. They day of, they made me feel so calm with their relaxed attitude. I am grateful that they were so easy to work with and made sure our ceremony and reception were fun and classy. I highly recommend them!

Having worked in the Syracuse wedding industry I have had the pleasure of knowing Carl for many years. He was the first person my wife and I called when we started planning our wedding. From the beginning, I had no doubt that Carl and his team would do a fantastic job. During the planning stages and even the day of, Carl and his team would be one step ahead of my wife and I down to the minute details. He de-stressed and simplified the planning process which was important to my wife and I with our busy careers.

Starting at the rehearsal dinner, Carl and his team provided music, hosting, and video coverage. He found a way to have even our grandmothers laughing during the shoe game. The day of the wedding his team met us at the church to provide video coverage of the entire day and then followed us to SKY Armory where we had our reception. The lighting design including the monogram was fantastic and his subtle changes in the uplighting color enhanced the mood as the evening progressed. Everything went smoothly the day of with the help of his onsite wedding planner, Lauren. Carl had an excellent selection of dancing music that had our guests packing the floor the entire night. After the wedding, we received many comments saying that they loved our DJ and it was the most fun they have had at any wedding. We could not have asked for a better experience thanks to Carl and his team at DJ by Design.

We used Carl Naples and his firm, DJ by Design, at our daughter's wedding in May of 2014. Carl and his team did such a professional job, that my son, who is getting married in 2016, contracted with Carl for his wedding.

My wife and I are very much hands-on type of people. Attention to detail is very important to us, along with the quality of the service and the associated level of professionalism. Honesty, integrity and some fun along the way are equally important. We can tell you without a doubt that Carl and his team did not disappoint us.

We told Carl when we first met that we want to hear all his thoughts - both good and bad. We wanted him to tell us what he thought works well and what doesn't. Essentially, any and all ideas he had were open for discussion. If our thoughts didn't make sense, we wanted him to tell us why he thought that.

What impressed us most about Carl was not only his willingness to listen, but his ability to provide insightful ideas and suggestions that made you think. In the end, Carl was more interested in using his creativity and his talents to make sure your day was going to be as special as it can be, rather than trying to sell us on services that we really didn't need.

Our relationship with Carl went from a business relationship to a personal one. Not only is he is a true professional, but he is a very caring and sincere person as well. We highly respect his professional advice, and we truly value the personal relationship that has developed between us.

Carl has made changes to his service offerings since the time of our daughter’s wedding and has added new ones. We are very excited that these new offerings will be available to us for our son's wedding.

If you want quality services at a reasonable price, then you owe it to yourself to speak with Carl about the services he could provide. He is genuine in every sense of the word, and he will make your special day an unforgettable experience.

WOW! Carl did some calligraphy work for signs/table numbers/etc. for my wedding, and I could not have been more blown away with his work! He was able to work on some unique surfaces for me, and everything turned out beautiful. He even did most of the work while we watched! He has a very quick turnaround, and definitely went above and beyond my vision. I would highly recommend to anyone!

I know this is cliche, but where do i start? i will start by putting my personal e-mail address right here: samanthalamaina@gmail.com. I am doing this because any review i write about Carl or his company/crew will still not measure up to how he made my life...and wedding day...truly unbelievable. My husband and i got engaged on may 11th, 2014. We both knew we wanted to get married in september of 2014. Also, if you're wondering why it's taken me so long to write a review, it's because after our wedding and many celebratory events...i accidentally broke my right hand, so let's just say typing was very hard!! Anyways, after we were engaged, i, like any other woman, immediately starting getting on-line and seeing who does what the best in our area...but also suits my needs....(i say my needs because my husband is the most laid back man and literally told me to do everything myself...and like the control freak that i am...i did). I know carl will laugh reading this because of how well he knows me now. Anyways, i went on-line and i knew i wanted a DJ. Just a great DJ that would play songs i'd pick, to fit my 200 person, rustic, barn, at home wedding. i found carl and i only read a few reviews to know this sounded like a great person as well company. I called carl that day and he had every weekend in September booked..besides the 13th..which was the date we picked for our wedding day!! It was fate right?? He was so professional, and attentive, since our first phone call. He clearly knows brides and how to make them feel a certain way. We met a few days later and.....WOW!!! i laugh typing this because i probably asked carl after everything he'd say "you can do that????" or "you can do that too?". Guess what???? I DID NOT FIND JUST A DJ. Do not call him a DJ. Carl and his crew are people of many, many talents. Carl Naples….oh where do I begin? My husband and I have had the opportunity of getting to know Carl over the past year and a half. My husband and I are wedding professionals ourselves, and we have seen our fair share of "wedding DJ's." Carl and his team are un-comparable to any other professionals in the DJ industry, and grouping him and his team in the same category as other DJ's is simple not appropriate. He is the most impressive wedding host that I have had the pleasure of meeting. His techniques as a wedding host are tasteful, and spectacular. Carl and his team went above and beyond to make our wedding not only look magnificant with their lighting, but selected music that made both me and my husband tearfully happy during our reception. Carl helped so much with most of my wedding. We met 4 times in person, he called to help keep track of things, kept in touch through text message and facebook. He provided all of the lighting for my ceremony, and all of the entertainment. He connected me to my photographer, and helped me with my venue.

He worked with me on payment as my husband and I ran into several rough patches financially. As well as when my grandfather passed he was understanding and allowed me time to contact him back regarding plans.

Some nights he would stay up late just so I could get him my music list, the venue's number to help set a meeting time with the venue owner. He was patient when helping to plan my agenda and left room for last minute changes.

He exceeded my expectations! My Ceremony and Reception were both at Mexico VFW. The ceremony was outside. When I got there for the ceremony I found out there was a graduation party as well in the pavilion. Carl played all the songs and provided the equipment necessary for the ceremony, and he managed not to interrupt the graduation party that was going on.

During the reception the lighting was amazing, he did everything I requested. The music was perfect. Everything was personalized to what we needed.

WIth the passion, detail and care Carl provided us for our DJ needs, we wanted to see what he could provide for videography. He took the time and care, just like as he usally does, to explain what was in the package and the setup of the cameras, the microphones etc. Very detailed and laid out. Not surpisingly, the results were fantastic!

We received both a short video as well as modified version of the entire day which highlighted a good balance of key, personal and candid events. The videos had style and wasn't the typical video of just the entire wedding. Transition scenes were done well, brief interviews were incorporated and different video perspectives as well. The final video was a great product and you can definitely tell that Carl and his crew took the time and the care to produce and capture an important event in our lives that will be with us forever.

As soon as we met Carl, my husband and I knew that we wanted to work with him. He has an ease about him when he talks to you which makes you feel like you've known him forever, and my husband and I felt like he would treat our wedding day with as much personal care as if he were planning his own wedding.

His passion for his work shows through what he says (in person and on his beautiful website) and does. He has a good sense of music; when we came up with a list of artists we liked and wanted to play at our wedding, he could suggest similar artists that would complement our tastes. He draws from his experience in telling us what works and what doesn't, and always has great ideas on how to do things tactfully and naturally. My parents who had sworn they would not dance were pulling others on to the dance floor that night. There never seems to be a forced, awkward moment when he's in charge. Everything just seems to come together naturally.

He also does not shy away from stepping out of his comfort zone. When my husband and I decided to have a Korean ceremony in addition to our traditional Western ceremony, we had no idea what we were getting into, much less Carl, who had not had any experience with it prior to our ceremony. However, we had friends telling us after our ceremony that it seemed like Carl had done it many times before.

The enthusiasm for what he is doing, the ease of his manner, his previous experience, and his willingness to try new things are all reasons why everyone should hire Carl and his crew if they can. In my opinion, they went above and beyond my expectations on the services I received at their price point. I would highly recommend just giving Carl a call and talking to him to see what I mean. I wish Carl and his crew all the best in future endeavors, and am looking for another excuse to hire them again!

P.S. They provided videography services for my wedding as well, which I will review separately.

we had the privilege of having both hosts at our wedding! Carl and Owen were amazing! We were amazed from the first meeting all the way through the end of the ceremony! The lighting and the music were top notch, as well as the professionalism of all of the dj by design team. I would like to say that we did not only hire a great, experienced and quality team of professionals, we gained a few friends as well. I would recommend this great crew for any event. Carl and his team were so amazing! They took our personalities into consideration and were incredibly receptive to feedback and last minute changes we wanted. Steve was the DJ for our wedding, and he was absolutely fantastic! He was able to set the mood for the night, and did a wonderful job of being on-time, professional, and was able to roll with some electrical issues that came up throughout the wedding set up. Carl and Steve met with my bride and myself multiple times to discuss and give advice on different aspects of the wedding and reception. Once they found out the atmosphere of the wedding, they knew just how to dress, music styles, and the tempo we wanted for the evening. Even though they just did the music, Steve was at the venue from 12pm to 12am, without as little as a peep of a complaint. I would STRONGLY recommend DJ by Design for anybody that is thinking about getting a DJ for their wedding.

We hired DJ by design so we could have a different experience with music up here in the North Country (Massena, NY). Carl Naples was always there to answer our questions, work with us on prices, and we feel really got to know us. The DJ services that were provided were great. Carl was professional and funny. He got the guests interested and involved. The photobooth they brought was a huge hit and a ton of fun, we can't wait to see the pictures. They had brought uplighting with them for another event, but used it for our event as well, and it really made the room look the absolute best. I would highly recommend this company to anyone! DJ by design certainly helped make our reception the best night of our lives.

Carl was extremely professional right from the start. We met prior to hiring at the site and his communication throughout the planning process was exceptional and what made this vendor stand out. Entertainment is such a vital part of the success of the party and although I had ideas of what we wanted, Carl really filled in the gaps so I felt confident my requests would be met and the party would flow as planned and it did! We had great sound for the ceremony and cocktail hour and Carls recommendations had our guests dancing throughout the evening right to the end. The photo booth was great fun and I would highly recommend this for any event. We selected a simple lighting package and they created nice ambiance. You can't go wrong hiring this company.

I had an amazing time planning my wedding with Carl. His personality made me feel confident that my wedding was going to be a successful, which was confirmed on my wedding day. Everything was perfect. He did not push me into doing anything that I did not want and completely focused on what I wanted and how I wanted things to be. At the event itself, Carl and his staff were amazing. They were completely professional, played music that met the mood at the moment, and were interactive rather than just playing music. I even got Carl on the dance floor and ran things for him for a brief moment. They certainly have a lot to offer and make things creative, such as the longevity dance and the shoe swap (which was hiliarious). I cannot say enough about the services they provided. Working with Carl was fantastic. I felt like we got along great and that after all of our emails and meetings that I had a friend working my wedding instead of some stranger. I enjoyed having the balance of working with someone who was very professional but was happy to share a laugh over the crazier wedding concerns.
On the actual wedding day I felt like we were able to stay on the schedule that we had come up with without feeling like it was restricting for anyone. It was great to have someone who could act as an interactive MC with aplomb and not just be some omipotent voice from the corner of the room. When Carl and his team experienced a mild sound mishap in the second half of the reception they worked quickly to fix it and as an apology for the mishap they surprised my husband and I by lighting the trees along the walkway from the reception out to the parking area in these brilliant shades of purple.
The rest of the lighting used in the reception was great as well, they really transformed the space into a chic atmosphere.
Carl and his team also did the lighting and music for our ceremony and I was so blown away by how the ceremony room looked that I actually had to remind myself to look at my groom instead of craning my head around to take everything in.
Overall I would be incredibly happy to recommend Carl, Owen, and the rest of their professional team to anyone looking to have a fun and fabulous wedding.

DJ By Design was absolutely amazing!!! Carl was our DJ and he is incredibly talented at reading the crowd and picking the perfect songs to keep people on the dance floor. My husband and I gave Carl 100% control for the night and we are so happy we did! Everyone at our wedding was dancing and throughout the whole night! I myself tried to get off the dance floor to have a drink and couldn't because Carl played another song I could not stay off the dance floor from. Carl was great at meeting with us when we needed too and so flexible considering our wedding was in Syracuse NY and we were living in Canada until just before the wedding! Carl also provided us with amateur video which came out great! The sound was perfect and the picture quality was good! Additionally Carl provided us with up lighting for the reception and the shade of purple I wanted was very difficult to get due to it needing to be a dark purple but not black and with no pink but Carl again pulled through and the place looked perfect! Thank you Carl for making our wedding day such a amazing party and making my dreams come true!

Syracuse Dream Weddings was very easy to work with. From the start, James was professional and thorough and up front about pricing options. He was also very flexible with adjusting services to fit our needs. He was prompt to respond to my initial correspondence and always responded to questions via email, text or phone call almost immediately. The service provided was exceptional. Not only did they provide the DJ service for the reception, they provided amplification and microphones for the ceremony and worked with all of the vendors coordinating everything for our wedding day. We met with them multiple times in the planning process to make sure the music selected was perfect for us and so everyone was on the same page for the schedule of events. Carl was our DJ and he was a dream to work with. He listened to what we wanted and then went above and beyond on the day of the wedding. He was familiar with our venue and that was very helpful in the planning stages. He's a very nice guy and also very knowledgable about his line of work.

I have nothing but praise for Carl and his staff. They are very professional and so easy to work with. Carl did all of the invitations by hand in calligraphy and they were perfect. I just want to say DJ by Design was OUT OF THIS WORLD last night at our wedding! From day one, Carl walked us through the entire process step by step. Every time I talked to him he made me more and more excited about our wedding day! I am a person who cannot make decisions and wanted our wedding to be a little different. Carl gave us so many awesome ideas. They did our invatations and were gorgeous! The caligraphy is a beautiful personal touch. DJ By Design is a wonderful entertainment company. Owen Draughn was an exceptional DJ! He was always there whenever we had a question and was always understanding when we changed the date (by a year) and the vender a few different times! Oh and my Husband and I changed all of the songs (our first dance, mother-son, mother-daughter and introductions) a few days before our wedding. Everyone had a blast at our wedding! The lighting looked amazing. He always let us know ahead of time what the next event was. I would recommend Owen a million times over! He was also dressed very professional! When I first met James(the dj) the first thought that came to my head was proffesional!! After speaking with him a few more times before the wedding I was confident I was going to get exactly what I wanted!!! Which...I did!! He was in constant communication with me the entire BIG DAY!! which I thought was a huge part in making it successful. The music was a really big deal for my husband and I, we are both very selective and wanted to create a great atmosphere for not only ourselves but most of our guests came from out of town and James absolutly accomplished this!!! Carl with DJ By Deign was very cordial and very responsive. The DJ/photo booth package that we discussed seems very reasonable, especially since their timeframe was limited to the full day not 4 hrs like all other service providers I spoke with. Even though my fiancé and I did not choose DJ By Design for our wedding (a more local DJ and preferred DJ of our reception hall opened up; pricing simply could not be beat) I would highly recommend Carl and his crew for any event based on their professionalism and customer service.

Owen Draugn was the DJ for our wedding. I have never been more impressed with a DJ in my life. He was always available when I called to answer any questions. He met with me several times until we had all the details figured out. He played all requests that my guests and I made and was very friendly. Carl was great! We were not looking for you average DJ or an MC for our Wedding. Timing was great to. We had background music when needed and dance music as requested with no Chicken Dance of Margarnia.

My husband and I got married on August 13th, 2006. This was a second marriage for both of us. From the time we knew we wanted to get married to the actual date of our marriage was 2 1/2 months! So one can imagine how hectic it was to have everything in place for our special day!
We could not believe how everything DID fall in place for our special day, from the date being available for the one marrying us and the Kingdom Hall where we were getting married, to being able to reserve a wonderful reception hall, to booking a great caterer, to our family and friends who RSVP'd! Well....the morning of our wedding we find out that we were not going to have music at our reception! There had been a problem! I have always known that music can make or break a wedding reception! This is where Carl Naples of DJ By Design comes in!! He just happened to ask me that morning about an hour before I'm to walk down the aisle (as if knowing something) if we had music for our reception. I said "No! There was a problem!", almost in tears! Without hesitation, Carl Naples of DJ By Design said to me, "Not to worry, I will set up my system and play music for the two of you for your reception!" Without even rehearsing, he introduced the wedding party for us and played wonderful music the rest of the night, especially getting ones up and dancing!
When I said that I feel music makes or breaks a wedding reception? Well, Carl Naples of DJ By Design made our wedding reception! And probably everyone who attended our reception, attested to that!
I recommend to ANYONE and EVERYONE to have Carl Naples of DJ By Design take care of your wedding reception music entertainment needs!

DJ By Design was amazing. I got married almost 2 years ago now and my husband and I still talk about how amazing our invitations were and how the music MADE our wedding! People stayed for hours dancing! Anything we asked for was provided! I would recommend them to anyone!!

A DJ is someone I see as a music provider for an event. The service provided by DJ BY Design is over and beyond my expectations of a typical DJ. This is truely the most PROFESSIONAL DJ service I have ever experienced. From the first contact I was treated with respect, wasn't rushed or felt overwhelmed with decision making. This service provided counsel that made me feel comfortably at ease with my big day. My reception is still talked about almost two years later on how everything went so smoothly. It was DJ By Design that made this a stress free event. The music selection was carefully set to harmonize with my guests of all ages, requests were on hand, and the sound carried out through out our banquet room with clear, crisp and well managed volume to please all my guests ears! Carl was absolutely wonderful. He made our day so special.There was a lot of sticker shock initially.But after walking in and seeing our reception venue; we wouldn't have changed a thing. We got way more than we expected.SO SO SO SO Happy! Our reception was everything we hoped for and more! :)

The mix of music, the sound level (often TOO loud at events, but just right at ours), the personalization of selections, the crowd interaction... you name it and DJ By Design delivered. Carl was amazing! Our original DJ fell thru and Carl pick up all the slack. The day of our wedding! We ran out of food and thru Carl's connections he had reinforcements brought in and saved the day. He made all of our announcements and took requests from the guests. If I was going to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing!

Carl has been a DJ for us at major events for our family and I have seen him perform several times at other venues over the past 13 years. His ability of Professionalism shines through in every event. Carl has a amazing capability of reading a room and adapting to its needs to ensure everyone has a wonderful time. We were very pleased that he listens to your needs and can make them happen, not force you to follow his way of doing things. From Carl's Event Planning leading up to the event; to his appearance and personality at his shows, it would be hard spent to find a better DJ service in Central New York. I have been to many DJ events over the years and they just aren't even close to the Performance and Ability that DJ by Design and Carl Naples offers.

I was so pleased and happy with Carl at DJ by Design. He has an extensive collection of music..all kinds. He is also very knowledgeable about the music. He is very professional and really listens to what you would like and is able to offer suggestions and wonderful insight on what may or may not make your day perfect. And lets be honest..we have all been to weddings where the DJ was less then good. As a guest its one of the most enjoyable parts of a wedding..good music. :) That being said..I highly recommend DJ by Design!

Very Professional and was very courteous in as aspects of the job. Excellent job on the music and had more music than ya could shake a stick at for request. Changed up the music on the fly as my wife and I felt we needed to change our original choices to get more people on the dance floor. IT WORKED!! Imagine how much more music he has now as our wedding and reception was September 3rd 1999. Highly recommended!!

Excellent service and abilities. Our wedding could not have gone much better. Thanks to Dj By Design we had the wedding of the decade. No matter how many small imperfections your wedding may have, this will make up the rest. He was able to come to us when we needed, and was there with good advice the whole step of the way. With the lighing effects you'll completely transform your wedding day into a fantasy, and the sound was clear even with our huge reception hall. (We seated 250 and had room to spare) I cant say anything bad about them but I feel cheesy rating perfect on everything. Thanks so much!

Carl and his team at DJ by Design were absolutely fantastic! Our planning process was a bit on the stressful side, due to some issues with our Venue, and Carl took over to ensure our day was flawless.
We said from the very beginning we wanted it to be a huge celebration and party, and had a somewhat non-traditional timeline for the day, including having our cocktail hour before the ceremony. Any ideas we had, no matter how out there, Carl figured out a way to make it happen seamlessly, including coordinating with our photographer and other vendors to make sure the day went off without a hitch.
We enlisted their lighting services, and our ballroom looked absolutely beautiful all night. The music for our ceremony was unorthodox, and played perfectly. But by far the most amazing hit, with all our guests, was the use of a drone for aerial video taken during the cocktail hour and ceremony. Most had never seen one used at a wedding, and it was amazing!

From beginning to end, he was patient and fun, gave great advice, was very responsive, and helped us with so many of the details, so that we could really focus on what was important to us. Carl was very organized, reachable, and detail oriented in preparing for our wedding reception. He was very open to our suggestions to play Latin music at our reception, and we ended up with a great music variety.

At the event Carl did an excellent job. He nailed the timing with each song, our guests were very excited about the music, and we danced the entire reception.

Very easy to communicate with. Engaged in conversations when discussing event. Responded to all calls pre wedding. Great job with the Photobooth they sub contracted with. Our DJ was named Owen and he was both friendly and helpful. He made our day even more special. His wide variety of music, as well as experienced input, made our reception classy and fun. He found a song for the Mother/Groom dance that was not easy to find and introduced the moment with class. Owen was a hard working DJ who sincerely cared about us as a couple, and it showed in the amount of effort and time he put into our wedding. He also was willing to help take charge of pertinent announcements and did a great job helping to relay direction to the guests. We were married in January and despite the weather, he was reliable and punctual. We will always be grateful for the fine job he did and have no hesitations in recommending him to other couples!

Very nice and easy to work with. Quick response time and was on time. Price is slightly high and he brings a bunch a assistance with him that don't do announcements or play any music, perhaps they are just a set up crew.

Carl and his staff did excellent job with the music and lighting and they did a fantastic job getting our guests on the dance floor and keeping them there. I recommend in the future Carl keep all the people in charge of the wedding (Ie wedding planner) in the loop of his plans.

He wasn't excellent. But he wasnt totally bad either Spent considerable time with us creating a list but then wasn't responsive to crowd when folks weren't dancing. People were leaving our reception because there wasn't same music being played, eventually after a few requests he stepped it up. Wondered what happened to all the time we spent preparing and the songs we picked. Did a great job with calligraphy even caught some errors we made but then made errors by assuming people were Mrs. Instead of Ms, or that others were couples when they were not. Definatly used our surplus invites with mistakes. Said he'd do them on angles but then did most straight across as he ran out of time and even ink (we had to get on him abt his turn around time so we could mail them).
