First I just have to say how much I appreciate the flexibility offered by Swink, especially in the postponement and re-scheduling required by the pandemic. Additionally, I was making changes to who was getting hair and makeup done when up to two weeks before the wedding and Swink had no problem with it. I think this would have been nearly impossible with any other hair/makeup vendor.
I did end up choosing to do my wedding makeup myself after my trial, because I didn't like how the makeup turned out. Swink did offer to bring me in for another trial free of charge, but I declined. A couple of my bridesmaids had their makeup done at Swink and we all loved how that turned out, so it's possible I'm just really picky about my makeup.
My entire wedding party and my mom had our hair done at Swink and everyone was thrilled, but me most of all. My hair was perfect. Seriously pinterest-worthy, and lasted all day. -

Mo is a miracle worker! Not only did she do an amazing job on my hair and make-up, she also managed to fit my mom's hair and make up in despite my mom's appointment not being in the book. During my trial she took the time to figure out my vision and style and was very receptive of the feedback I had. Thank you so much Mo! -

I was recommended to Swink by one of my bridesmaids and I am SO happy I chose to go with them. While I was hoping to have an on-site vendor, this turned out to be the perfect choice. We arranged for all our girls to be dropped off at their appointment time & had cars to shuttle them to the venue, which worked out to be a nice central place for everyone to meet. We had a total for 13 ladies, including a 4 year old flower girl & both our moms, and they got us in and out even quicker than our contracted time! Working with Amy was a dream, she managed to get us all put together in our allotted time, even when I added people, rearranged times, added/removed services, she was so responsive and kind in a stressful time! Tiara did both my hair and makeup at my trial and day-of and he was a gem. With very little guiding from me, she was able to take my natural self and make it even better. Nothing was over the top, and I still looked like myself while feeling like a celebrity. Everyone looked beautiful, felt even better, and every person we worked with there was polite, helpful, and really helped pump up our energy while keeping us calm in what could be a very stressful time! I will definitely be using their services again in the future! -

I would absolutely recommend using Swink for your wedding day hair style! I had visited them years ago (when they were in the University Village) and loved the experience then, so I thought about looking into their services for wedding day hair. The bridal coordinator was so helpful and flexible with the planning. The price was on the lower end of average of what I had found in the Seattle area. My hair trial was a few weeks before the wedding and I brought in some pictures off Pinterest for inspiration, but I trusted my lovely stylist Ashley and told her the only thing I really want is for my hair to not look as thin as it is and to be up and stay up for 12+ hours. I have fine hair, and not a whole lot of it, so I was very pleased with the way she was able to make my hair look full and intricate. She was absolutely fantastic. A few of my bridesmaids and my mom also got their hair done for the wedding (without a trial) and it turned out pretty good overall. If you do go with Swink, I highly recommend a trial run if you have difficult hair or hair that doesn't like to stay put even with hair spray. I would definitely recommend them and use them again in a heart beat. -
User1984407 Sent on 12/25/2014Britni did an excellent job with my hair and make-up for my wedding. She listened to my ideas and improved upon them to create something fabulous! Britni was so diligent with pinning my updo that it lasted all day and night perfectly. I received so many compliments from my guests on my hair and make-up and now I’m loving all of the photos. I’m so grateful that Britni was a part of my big day!
Flexibility was rated lower since they moved my bridal party's appointment to an earlier time slot than initially agreed upon. -

User904463 Sent on 08/19/2012Hair: I can tell that they're used to doing the same old wedding updos. Brought photos to my trial but somehow ended up with the traditional tightly pulled back bun full of curls. For the actual appointment, told her I didn't like it last time and tried to steer her back in the direction of what I wanted but it ended up looking almost exactly the same.
Makeup: Looked and felt heavy and unnatural and was caking in a few places where it was too thick. Also, the colors she used were very shimmery so I had to go home and powder myself and fix a bunch of things I didn't like.
Overall, not sure if I would go to a salon again. It was nice not to be stressed or worry about messing it up, but I could have done a better job on both my hair and makeup if I did it myself AND I would have saved $200. The girls that had their hair down had it turn out beautiful and their waves lasted all day, so I would recommend this salon for downstyles, but NOT for updos or makeup.
