We absolutely loved Sweeney Barn as our wedding venue! The space was stunning, with bright, natural lighting in the ceremony area that made everything feel warm and inviting. One of our favorite features was the ability to have an outdoor cocktail hour during golden hour—it created such a beautiful and magical atmosphere. The grand reception space, with its gorgeous chandeliers, added an elegant touch, and there were so many versatile areas for guests to explore, including an outdoor space perfect for stepping out for fresh air or enjoying a cigar.
Sweeney Barn truly had everything we wanted for a perfect wedding. Andrea, in particular, was incredible to work with—she made the whole planning process seamless. We also worked with many of their preferred vendors, all of whom provided top-notch service and high-quality products. It was a dream come true, and we can’t recommend this venue enough!Sweeney Barn's reply:

My husband and I just had our wedding at Sweeney Barn and it was such an amazing day. We fell in love with Sweeney right away and are so grateful we were able to have our wedding there. Sweeney is convenient and has many options for their floor plans. We were able to utilize each space and they were set-up beautifully. The staff were incredibly helpful and experienced, helping us along the way (shout-out to Andrea and Glynis!). We are SO glad we chose Sweeney Barn as our wedding venue. The history and beautiful detail of the barn coupled with an ideal location for out-of-town guests made it such a perfect venue. Stepping into the barn on our wedding day and seeing all the details again and seeing it decorated for the big day was so special!
Andrea is also incredible to work with. She made us feel so at ease and excited and answered our (many) questions so quickly! Working with her, we felt so confident our wedding day would be perfect - and it was!

We hosted our Mehendi/Sangeet night and Sweeney Barn and we could not have picked a more perfect venue. There are two floors to the venue, the ground level and the upper level. Both levels are absolutely stunning. The ground level was super bright and warm-perfect for the daytime when the sun is still out- and the upper level was very grand with beautiful chandeliers - perfect for a night reception. There are so many locations in and around Sweeney Barn that are perfect for couple photos: the stair case, gazebo, outside the barn, etc. We are extremely excited to see how the photos look!
Andrea and Meghan were also extremely easy and fun to work with. They made things very easy for us as the couple and the final vendor walkthrough was very quick and efficient. Overall, would definetly recommend Sweeney Barn as a venue of choice.Sweeney Barn's reply:

When looking for wedding venues we both decided on one location each via online search first and made the decision we will save time to no matter what choose between the two after visiting. The first location was a BEAUTIFUL and had most of everything we wanted but the GM there put in very effort to entice us to have the wedding there. We were handed a folder and told to "self tour" the place and ask any questions if we had any. It felt like the GM knew the location was a prime wedding venue spot, so there was no need to put in any work. So that was a bit of a turn off and set the expectations of how these venue tours were going to be like. BUT NOPE. Andrea at Sweeny Barn was the complete opposite. When we arrived, she greeted us with an incredible smile and energy. Handed us our folder and asked her to join her on the tour so she can explain how everything can be utilized at Sweeny Barn for the wedding. She had a tablet and showed us prior weddings and how they set things up so we can visualize the dream. She answered all our questions without hesitation since it was clear she knew her stuff. This level of customer service gave us the confidence that that if something was to happen, Sweeny Barn will be able to work with us and make sure that all parties are happy.Sweeney Barn's reply:

Sweeney Barn was undoubtedly the best decision we made in terms of wedding vendors. Sweeney Barn is a stunning venue, offering versatility with its three event spaces (upstairs, downstairs, and outside). Andrea, Sweeney’s GM, always, without fail provided prompt responses and was incredibly organized throughout our year-long planning process. Andrea always replied to my emails quickly with clear, logical solutions, putting me at ease.
Our day-of representative, Kathy, was also exceptional. When my bustle malfunctioned, she quickly devised a solution that was seamless. Kathy was actively involved in the setup and takedown, and she was the person who did our initial walk-through (before we selected a venue), which convinced us to choose Sweeney Barn. Understanding pricing and what’s included can be challenging, but Kathy provided just the right amount of detail during our walk-through, ensuring we felt informed without being overwhelmed. This was a major selling point.
I am truly grateful to Sweeney and the team for making our wedding so special. Their partnership was invaluable, and I cannot recommend Sweeney Barn enough. We feel incredibly fortunate to have been married in such a beautiful and unique location with a truly rockstar team of professionals.Sweeney Barn's reply:

My now-husband and I discovered this venue through Taste of Elegance catering (who we also ended up using for our wedding) and it was such a miracle that we did! We had toured several venues and none of them were quite right. When we saw Sweeney Barn, we knew almost instantly that it was perfect! The venue is beautiful and most other venues of this style are at least an hour out west, far from airports and hotels. Andrea is very helpful and responsive to emails. She was very helpful in getting us chairs for our reception as well! Our ceremony was at church, so we used the downstairs room for cocktail hour. It was a lovely August day and we were able to put out the lawn games that they have available! We had around 100 guests and there was plenty of room to move around while the DJ helped my family with a live music performance. The remainder of our reception was upstairs and we were able to make room for a buffet, manned pasta station, full bar, dessert table, and photo-booth all while having plenty of room for 13 guest tables and a dance floor! The room is large, but the arched ceilings and low chandeliers make it feel very cozy as well. We happily made use of their available tables and round arch. Our photographer was able to capture many great photos in the beautiful spiral staircase as well as outside during our sunset photos. Wedding of our dreams!
From the moment we stepped onto the property at Sweeney Barn my husband and I knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. It has rustic charm with modern flare. It truly is such a beautiful place and it wasn’t just a venue, it felt like home. Andrea from Sweeney Barn made everything seamless and truly a blessing. Andrea’s kindness and warmth make your experience that much more special and her organization and attention to detail put my mind at ease. I knew everything was going to be executed to perfection and it was!!! Sweeney Barn even offers you a variety of decor you can utilize which came in handy! What makes Sweeney stand out even more is they host open houses where their trusted vendors attend and you can browse and meet vendors. This was INCREDIBLE and we booked almost all our vendors at the open house making my life so much easier. On the day of the Sweeney Barn coordinator that was with us, Lisa, was a DREAM. She is enthusiastic and lovely! Not to mention she even took care of our dog before the ceremony, which was just so kind! Sweeney Barn was a dream venue for our wedding! It was the first venue we looked at, and nothing else compared. From the location, to the team of staff lead by Andrea, it was perfect. We loved that we could have our ceremony in the light and airy bottom level, host an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, and then the reception upstairs in the spacious upper-level barn loft. The venue offers lots of equipment and decor, helping us save $ on decor and rentals. The entire space is gorgeous - guests gave us so many compliments about the venue. The silo staircase was also one of the big selling points for us. Loved the beautiful bridal suite as well! It was just a short drive from several hotels and shopping areas, and right down the road from 2 Silos brewing, where we went for our after party. Andrea and her team were so patient with all of our questions, and coordinated seamlessly with our other vendors. Highly recommend this space for your wedding or other event!Sweeney Barn's reply:

The BEST venue is the DMV area!
Initially we were looking at different venues when we were researching. Sweeney happened to be the first venue I went to see and I fell in love immediately! Not only it is a beautiful venue, but the team is amazing. The manager Andrea is so helpful and responsive. I asked so so so many questions, but she always gave answers. Throughout the whole planning time she gave recommendations and such as well. Very easy to work with and the team is so productive. Our guests were enjoying themselves and they couldn’t stop mentioning how beautiful the venue is. Some of the guests already asked me to pass Sweeney’s info so their family members can get married here as well. If you want your elegant, rustic, beautiful, and classy wedding this is the venue for you. Since it is already so elegant and pretty, you can go less with the decorations. The Best Day!
Sweeney Barn is the only venue we toured. Just walking up to it, you will know why. It is absolutely gorgeous! I remember during our tour, I was just in awe about how beautiful it was and on the day of our wedding, I was in even more awe seeing it all decorated for our wedding, it brought tears to my eyes. Sweeney Barn is perfect if you are looking for that barn wedding! It is GORGEOUS, has heating and air conditioning, a nice bathroom, an elevator, and not to mention, so much decor that you are welcome to use for free! Not only is the venue itself amazing, all of the staff is amazing too! Everyone is super friendly and will answer any question you have. Breathtaking venue with an incredible team
I could truly write a novel about how much we loved hacing our wedding at Sweeney Barn. This was the very first venue we toured, and from the moment we stepped inside it just felt special. Every single detail is so well thought out and the team at the venue could not be more amazing. Their communication and planning approaches are impeccable and they made us feel like the most important couple in the world! They answered every single question we had and assured us at every step of the way. Our wedding day could not have gone more smoothly largely thanks to the amazing planning and preparation that Andrea and Lisa put in to our event. They worked closely with our coordinator and vendors to make sure everything went to plan. My husband and I cannot say enough amazing things about Sweeney Barn. When we started touring venues in 2021, we both knew the moment we stepped inside Sweeney Barn that it was the venue for us. From the get go, the level of professionalism is next level and perfect for any couples out there eager to have transparency and easy communication. Although she was not the lead on our wedding day, Andrea, the General Manager, went above and beyond every step of the way. Not only did she help with our own questions or concerns, she would email and communicate with all other vendors and our coordinator to make things as easy and seamless as possible.
Fast forward to our wedding day. Although we only got married a week ago, 10/29/22, our guests and family members have not stopped RAVING about our wedding venue and how spectacular everything looked. Several have even told us it was "the most fun wedding they've ever been to" - which was the exact vibe we wanted and SB nailed it perfectly!
Another appeal and factor in our decision was the location! Sweeney Barn is a perfect location if, like us, you have lots of out of town guests and relatives. We were able to book multiple nearby hotel blocks and utilize a transportation service for a 10-15 min shuttle to and from the venue. There's a huge parking lot that guests are able to park and leave cars overnight as well. It made us happy knowing everyone could feel centralized and be able to spend time together, even outside of our wedding venue. We also were then able to use 2 Silos on the same road for our rehearsal dinner (cannot rave enough about the Black Sheep Restaurant as well) and to hang out with family & friends the day before.
Regardless of the weather or season, SB is a perfect venue that checks all the boxes. I was so thrilled that we had the most gorgeous fall day, and we took advantage of the weather with an outdoor ceremony and an incredible outside photo shoot with the fall foliage. Then our guests were able to easily transition into the downstairs hall room for cocktail hour, before proceeding upstairs for the reception.
Everything was clean, professional, and above and beyond our expectations. As the bride, I had a little "behind the scenes" sneak peak watching everything get set up by the staff and catering team, yet was still blown away by the vision they pulled together by the time of the reception.

Gorgeous Venue, Professional Staff, Perfect for Weddings
Andrea and the Sweeney Barn Team were absolutely delightful to work with as we prepared for our fall wedding. Wedding planning may be stressful, but the punctual, responsive, and thoughtful folks at Sweeney made our lives easy.
We booked the venue sight un-seen during the height of the Covid pandemic. Andrea offered us an amazing virtual tour and patiently answered all of our questions. Even though we booked our venue almost two years ahead of time, we never felt like an after-thought or a couple that could be answered later. We always felt like a priority. Sweeney is staffed by true professionals. At every turn, Andrea was there to listen to our vision, help us understand how we could achieve it (offering enthusiasm when we could do something, and constructive guidance where we could not).
Their approved vendor list is pretty non-restrictive, and they make allowances for unapproved vendors if they meet criteria that is pretty reasonable. You may even get lucky like we did - our catering company worked with the venue several times between us selecting them and the date of our wedding, so they were added to the approved vendor list ahead of our date and we got the benefit of not having to pay the (nominal and fair) extra fee.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous in person. It offers a modern, yet rustic, look that can frame any event on its own, but is also the perfect canvas to add splashes of your own color and style.
Sweeney Barn also offered several amenities that MANY of the barn/farm venues in VA do not offer: paved roads, functional/nice bathrooms, and access to medical facilities near by in case of an emergency.
Overall, the reason to choose Sweeney Barn is obvious. Come for the looks, but stay for the world-class professional staff.

Perfect Venue with Wonderful Staff
Sweeney Barn was the perfect wedding venue for our dream wedding. The barn itself is gorgeous with so many great details - the beautiful spiral staircase, the high ceilings with chandeliers, the perfect alcove for a sweetheart table. It really made planning decor a breeze! Guests throughout the night mentioned how great Sweeney Barn was. We are so happy we choose Sweeney Barn and absolutely love looking over all the details of the barn in our wedding photos!
Andrea and her staff were amazing! They were so helpful from the very beginning. We requested to see the venue a few times (without and then with parents) and they were so accommodating. As we got closer to the big day, Andrea was so responsive to all our emails. Some of our vendors had a lot of requirements around outlets and space and Andreas was so quick to make the adjustments needed to the layout. We knew if we emailed Andrea, she would respond right away in a very helpful manner! Andrea and her team definitely were a big help in the wedding planning process. We cannot recommend Sweeney Barn enough to brides looking for the perfect venue.Sweeney Barn's reply:

A perfect place to get married!
Sweeney Barn is one of the best venues for a wedding! There’s a gorgeous inside ceremony spot, a great outdoor area for cocktail hour and a breathtaking upstairs reception space. My husband and I knew shortly after our tour that we would choose Sweeney Barn to be our wedding venue. We couldn’t have been happier! Incredibly beautiful venue with awesome staff
Sweeney is an absolutely beautiful venue and we are so thrilled to have had our wedding there. Andrea and her staff were there for us with any questions that we had throughout the process and extremely patient with a lot of (and sometimes inadvertently repeated by us) questions. They were also very flexible with some minor layout and timing changes made a little later in the process. Due to rain, we had to make some day-of layout changes and Glynis, the venue's event representative, was extremely helpful getting everything sorted out and was extremely kind and helpful for us. The venue it's is absolutely gorgeous (our guests were obsessed with the silo staircase, which was also awesome for pictures) and we could not be any happier with our choice of venue and would highly recommend Sweeney to anyone. -

Dream wedding at Sweeney Barn
Sweeney Barn was the easiest decision we made during wedding planning! We, like many other couples who got married in 2021, began wedding planning with so much uncertainty due to the pandemic. But Andrea and Katie at Sweeney Barn quickly put us at ease. They were so amazing and professional. I have never had a vendor respond so quickly and with the level of knowledge and thoughtfulness as Andrea. If you want to know the best photo locations, measurements of every nook in the barn, suggestions of event layout and decor based on the outdoor temperature 6 months and 8 days away, she will know it all.
As for the venue itself, Sweeney Barn is beautiful inside and out! We loved the rustic, romantic feel of venue but still decked out with all the modern comforts (including an elevator and its own paved parking lot) that you'd want for your guests. Sweeney Barn also has an amazing inventory of on-theme decor (think lanterns, fairy lights, chairs, two types of ceremony arches) that you can use. The high ceilings and many chandeliers are always a wow-factor for guests. We loved our wedding venue and will always remember it fondly!Sweeney Barn's reply:

Stunning Venue
We absolutely loved working with Andrea and Sweeney Barn. First, the barn itself is STUNNING! You don’t have to add much to it, it just stands out on its own. I have so many good things to say about our experience with Sweeney Barn. We are so thankful we decided to get married at Sweeney Barn! If you are looking for a barn style venue in northern Virginia, this is the one. If you're not looking for a barn style venue, you should still go see Sweeney Barn. Sweeney Barn is a gorgeous venue with an amazing staff! The space is just absolutely stunning, and it just gets more beautiful as you walk in. There are plenty of areas to choose from when figuring out where to do your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and every single one of them is absolutely beautiful (seriously, go look at pictures!). Their staff is also amazing. Andrea was incredibly helpful from the very first meeting we set up with her. She took time to give us a tour, answer all my questions, explain all the details, and give us some ideas of what our day could look like. Before we even booked, she was super attentive and answered all my questions. Definitely top notch service throughout the whole process. The space is also super vendor friendly; all our vendors had great things to say about the venue and their staff. Overall Sweeney Barn was just perfect. Sweeney Barn Review
We couldn't be happier with our wedding at Sweeney Barn! The venue was absolutely breathtaking. Our ceremony took place on the 1st floor where the room gets a ton of natural light and has a whimsical, fairytale vibe to it. Our reception took place on the 2nd floor. Guests were ushered upstairs through the beautiful spiral staircase which is the original silo from the barn. The upstairs has more of a barn look, but with a glam/modernized vibe.
The venue has some decor on site which we loved and didn't need to provide any ourselves! Guests loved the wine barrels during cocktail hour. We actually had a guest go to a local winery the next day and purchase 2 barrels to turn into tables for their home.
The location was not only helpful for guests who lived in the Gainesville/Manassas/Bristow area, but also those staying in one of the many hotels nearby. Having our wedding at Sweeney Barn was a dream!!!Sweeney Barn's reply:

Rustic Wedding Come True!
BOOK YOUR WEDDING VENUE AT SWEENEY BARN!! My husband and I loved our tour with Andrea and just fell in love with Sweeney Barn. Our whole experience from the initial tour all the way to the end was absolutely fantastic! Andrea answered all my questions and worry with COVID from start to finish and just knew what I wanted during our walk through as well. They were always communicating with us on COVID guidelines, payments, and the walk through. They always and truly had our best interest in mind all the way through.
Aside from the staff, the barn itself is gorgeous. I personally wanted a barn wedding but to have it all indoors. Sweeney Barn fits all my check boxes to have all the ceremony and reception indoors, good A/C, huge variety of rentals for decorations, and a gorgeous bridal suite and bathroom! I heard nothing but constant awe from my guests about Sweeney Barn.
Sweeney Barn truly worked super well with our vendors. I highly recommend Sweeney Barn for any wedding! They truly made my wedding come true!Sweeney Barn's reply:

After seeing pictures of Sweeney Barn online, we knew we had to visit the venue as soon as we could! As soon as walked through the doors, we were absolutely sold and booked Sweeney Barn for our wedding immediately, without seeing any other venue. We certainly don't regret that decision. Sweeney Barn and it's amazing staff were perfect. It's been so awesome to continue to hear all the positive comments from guests about how stunning our venue was. I can't say enough wonderful things about the Sweeney Barn staff! Ashley gave us our tour and she was excellent, polite, friendly and answered all of our questions. Andrea, the General Manager, was superb! She had great communication throughout the entire planning process ... even when I asked questions a year in advance of our date, she replied within 24 hours, most times she replied literally immediately. Planning a wedding during the pandemic might have been stressful for some, but Andrea made it an absolute a pleasure!!! I could write a book about how great the venue was and how awesome the staff was, but I think you all get the idea! Sweeney Barn was such an amazing place to get married at! We had a traditional ceremony at church, but you can definitely have your ceremony there as well. The minute we did the tour at Sweeney, we knew we wanted to have our reception here.
Andrea was so great to work with and kept us up to date on COVID restrictions, even though thankfully we got to have a normal wedding! Andrea stayed on top of our vendors and made sure we were good to go.
Zula was our coordinator for the day and her team and our catering team set up everything exactly how we wanted it to look like! Everything went smoothly, at least from what we know.
Everyone loved Sweeney Barn and even before the wedding, everyone was saying how excited they were that it was here since no one we know has gotten married here before. Hopefully that changes because again, everything was AMAZING!!
If you do choose Sweeney Barn, I HIGHLY recommend using Pampa’s Catering. People are still telling us how good the food was. Good luck planning your wedding and I hope you choose Sweeney!Sweeney Barn's reply:

Fairytale Wedding!
We started our wedding planning back in December. My husband found Sweeney Barn amongst multiple venues. We had a clear vision of our wedding and Sweeney Barn seemed to fit all the criteria. We wanted to have a really unique fusion wedding to combine both the American and Desi cuslture. We also didn't want a typical hotel ballroom wedding either. When we went to check out Sweeney Barn, we both fell in love with the venue and knew immediately that this place is perfect for our dream wedding.
Despite the pandemic, Sweeney Barn was very accommodating and they kept up their communication. I loved their professionalism and their willingness to work with us!

There aren't enough positive things I could say about this venue!
When my fiancé and I began planning our wedding, we were knew to the DC/Metro area. Sweeney Barn was one of the first venues we came across on our online search and it was the first venue we saw in person. From the first site, I would have been happy to sign a contract. My fiancé and I looked at 3 more venues but our hearts were at Sweeney Barn.
This barn is BEAUTIFUL and they have so much in-house decor that fit our rustic, Christmas theme. Andrea is responsive and accommodating and was such a peach to work with! Three weeks from our wedding day, Virginia changed their Covid restrictions. My fiancé and I decided to move forward with a small and intimate wedding. Andrea did everything she could to make sure this day was still special. Andrea was quick to organize a Zoom call with us and our coordinator and shortly after we had new diagrams and a new plan.
Sweeney Barn's extensive list of preferred suppliers is phenomenal. We booked our caterer and our florist from their list and the definitely only work with the best.Sweeney Barn's reply:

The staff at Sweeney Barn is top-tier! They helped make my wedding the most beautiful day. On top of that, the space is stunning. We got so many compliments on our venue choice and our photso turned out great! They provided so many of the rustic decorations we were needing to achieve the upscale barn wedding look we were wanting. Sweeney Barn is well-built, well-managed, and clean. Andrea was extremely responsive with her emails, and the venue walkthrough was a piece of cake. Our DJ's system sounded great upstairs. The chandeliers can be dimmed to create a nice ambiance. The balcony was a star area for many of our guests.
Sweeney Barn has sweet and simple decor that can match any event aesthetic/wedding colors, which relieved us of having to bring in extra pieces. The many barrels they have served as our cocktail tables and looked so unique!

They are the best

As many of you know, 2020 weddings have been a challenge to say the least. We booked Sweeney Barn for our wedding in May 2020 and when the governor shut down large gatherings during that time period, we were devastated. However, Sweeney Barn, with no hesitation, helped us to book a back-up date right away. Our wedding ended up taking place on August 16, 2020 and it was absolutely perfect. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful, but the service is truly unmatched. Staff was friendly, helpful, and flexible. Our guests were blown away as well! Sweeney Barn was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding! Andrea, Sweeney Barn's manager, was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process. We instantly fell in love with Sweeney Barn the moment we set foot inside. After scouting out several venues in the Northern VA area, there were none that made our hearts stop like Sweeney Barn did! The gorgeous contrast between light and dark wood made for stunning photos, and there was very little need to bring our own decorations! The barn was beautiful by itself, but they also offer a plethora of lanterns, lights, games, and decor that match the venue's aesthetic. Every penny that went into this venue was worth it!
Andrea was our main point of contact, and we loved working with her since day 1! Her professionalism and organization really streamlined our planning. She gave us all the information we needed to know to ease the workload and made our wedding day a success! Andrea and the Sweeney Barn team really care about their couples, and it shows! Despite how busy they got during peak wedding season, they never forgot about us. They were always prompt to follow up on emails and move our wedding planning forward. We recently held our wedding at Sweeney Barn and wanted to share our amazing experience. During our initial search, we visited multiple establishments and scoured through countless online reviews. After seeing Sweeney Barn’s profile, we decided to schedule a walk-thru and instantly knew this was the ideal venue. The barn was recently restored and the facility & amenities are impeccable. Every detail, from the rustic spiral staircase to the breathtaking ballroom, was exactly what we were looking for and considered ourselves very fortunate to have been married in a classic & elegant venue.
While the barn is picture perfect (literally), what made our journey so straightforward was due to the exceptional support from the Sweeney Barn team. Andrea and Ashley worked tirelessly to answer all of our questions (and there were a lot), provided tons of great recommendations and most importantly, minimized the stress that can typically (or unexpectedly) arise. For instance, during Andrea’s final walk-thru, she led the discussion (from start to finish) and utilized her expertise to ensure transparency among all vendors. To nobody’s surprise, everything went as planned the day of the event.
We wanted to conclude with a sincere ‘thank you’ to Noel, Andrea and Ashley for making our wedding day so memorable. It likely wouldn’t have been so perfect without all the hard work and dedication from each of them. Wow. As soon as I saw this venue, I knew I had to have it. The Sweeney Barn is just absolutely beautiful. Andrea, our point of contact, was amazing, professional, and very kind. She helped me book this venue without ever laying my eyes physically on it as I am currently living in Boston and trying to plan a wedding in my hometown. She was also present for our final wedding walk through with our wedding vendor team. Andrea had so many suggestions for where to place chairs/people/vendors and what decor to use (that the Sweeney Barn already had) and where. She was an essential part of our team and helped me feel at ease with her kindness and compassion on the day of the wedding.
