Best venue ever
Where to begin?! We got married at Sugarbush last weekend and are still talking about what an incredible experience we had. The venue speaks for itself -- it's gorgeous, everything is on-site, and there are tons of great things for guests to do nearby. The food was fantastic (we did a plated dinner with vegetable ravioli, beef with mushroom sauce, and mustard maple chicken as our options and have heard rave reviews from our guests about all of them). Amanda was our coordinator and was an absolute dream to work with. She was incredibly organized, responsive, and has such a calming presence which helped so much during such a chaotic day! Multiple people from our families and wedding party were commenting on how great she is and we couldn't agree more. I could truly go on for days about Sugarbush and how it was everything we dreamed of for our wedding day. Can't recommend them enough!Where to begin?! The Best!!
Our wedding at Sugarbush went exactly how we pictured it. We hosted a welcome party and a brunch at Rumbles Bistro, cocktail hour at Castlerock Pub and had our reception at the Gate House Lodge with and outdoor ceremony. This was a great way to experience all the spaces Sugarbush has to offer and have a weekend-long celebration with our guests. The Sugarbush staff was one of the main reasons we picked it as our venue, a decision we did not regret. Abigail and Alyssa did a great job with helping us plan our weekend and provided useful insights throughout our planning phase. They were very accommodating with any requests and were happy to help at every step of the way. The day of the wedding everything went smoothly without us having to get involved in the preparations, allowing us to enjoy our day. The food at Sugarbush was also great, with plenty of options at different price levels. Overall, we are so happy that we chose Sugarbush for our venue, there is really nothing they could have done to make it better. Our wedding at Sugarbush went exactly how we pictured it. The wedding of our dreams
Our wedding at sugarbush was everything we could have wished for. Through every step, from prepping details and booking vendors to the actual day, the staff at sugarbush exceeded our expectations for our big day. We were left with zero worries and shared one of the best days of our lives with friends and family. Our wedding at sugarbush was everything we could have wished for. Sugarbush coordinators made our wedding perfect
Abigail, Molly, Megan and the whole sugarbush team did an amazing job in our end of August wedding. Molly worked closely with us for 8 months, very professional, responsive and helpful in assisting us finding vendors and coordinating with vendors. She not only made detailed arrangements and timetables for wedding parties, also proactively reached out to photographer, DJ, florists and bakery to made sure everything is in place. We enjoyed our wedding just following Molly and Megan’s lead. Their team made everything smooth, especially when we encountered guest change and extra guest issue. Molly solved it super quickly. We also chose to reserved most of the rooms in the claybrook hotel so it is very convenient for welcome party and the wedding. We could not go up the mountain due to raining and windy but we had wedding on the grass. The photos came out so nice. Our guests gave us so many compliments. We highly recommend Sugarbush resort and very thankful for Molly and the entire team.Abigail, Molly, Megan and the whole sugarbush team did an amazing job in our end of August wedding. Wonderful Venue for Your Special Vermont Wedding
As a florist, I have had the pleasure of working at many wedding venues, and Sugarbush truly stands out to me. Not only does it offer a breathtaking backdrop that beautifully complements any floral arrangements, but the staff and wedding planners are second to none.
From the moment I arrived, Meg, Alyssa and the entire team was incredibly helpful, organized, and welcoming. They were attentive, friendly, and easy to collaborate with, ensuring that every detail of my floral designs aligned perfectly with the couple's vision. Their professionalism made the entire process seamless and stress-free, allowing me to focus on creating stunning arrangements.
The venue's natural lighting highlighted the pastel colors of the flowers, and the spacious layout gave me the flexibility to craft large, statement-making displays. The elegant yet understated design of the venue allows floral work to shine while still blending harmoniously with the overall ambiance.
For any couple looking for a venue with excellent service, amazing planners, and a setting that enhances the beauty of their special day, I highly recommend Sugarbush Resort for your special day. Best Wedding Venue EVER!
My daughter had her wedding at Sugarbush August 10th. I would give Sugarbush a million stars if I could! EVERYTHING exceeded our expectations from the venue to the food to the hotel and especially to the Staff. Beth Crawford was the planner assigned to my daughter’s wedding. Her kind, positive, calm and organized approach was more than we could have hoped for. She worked with my daughter to create her dream wedding and was always available for any questions that arose during the planning process. Molly Quinn Pasic was also there for all the weekend festivities, always with a smile on her face willing to help. What a team they made! They dealt with the vendors and made sure everything was perfect, running smoothly and on time.
Hailegh, the food and beverage manager worked behind the scenes to provide an exceptional meal with a wonderful staff (Maggie is the only waitstaff I recall and she like the others was great!). The bartenders were phenomenal (Jimmy is the only name I remember and he was awesome) There was never a wait at the bar and food was served promptly. Valerie at the front desk at Claybrook was amazing! By the end of the weekend I felt like she was part of the wedding. Jen at the Lodge at Lincoln Park was so helpful and kind. The chair lift operators were incredible, loading everyone in an efficient manner, stopping the lift and helping those with walkers and wheelchairs on and off. I can’t emphasize how absolutely incredible the whole staff was with special kudos to Beth and Molly for always going above and beyond!
I think that the people at Sugarbush are what make weddings there so special but the venue plays a close second. It is absolutely beautiful! A huge perk is that everything is on grounds so that when you arrive, you park and you don’t need to touch your car until you leave on Sunday. The Rehearsal Dinner, Welcome Party, and Wedding After Party were held at Castlerock Pub. The cocktail hour was on the Courtyard followed by the reception at Claybrook. The morning after Brunch was at Rumbles. We were fortunate that the ceremony could be held at the Gatehouse Mountain Top. The wedding day was a sunny day sandwiched between 2 days of monsoon like weather. But even if the ceremony had to be held inside, there was a contingency plan and it would have been beautiful.
So many people told us that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to. One guest had been to several ski resort weddings and said “hands down, Sugarbush was the best!” I 100% agree and would wholeheartedly recommend Sugarbush to anyone who is looking for a perfect wedding weekend!

Amazing place with fabulous staff!! Highly recommend!
Can't say enough good things about Sugarbush and their staff. We had a welcome dinner Friday, the wedding Saturday, and a brunch Sunday and every single event went seamlessly. Molly, Meg, and their team were extremely attentive and accommodating. They worked with all our vendors and our day could not have been more perfect. We got married at the top of the mountain which I HIGHLY recommend. Our guests were floored with how beautiful it was. Most of our guests stayed directly at the resort and everyone was so impressed with the rooms, pool, and overall vibe of the space. We did a buffet for the wedding dinner and I also recommend that. Truly the best wedding team you could ask for
First, we want to thank the entire Sugarbush wedding team for their yearlong support in planning our wedding! From the moment we started exploring sugarbush, everyone was communicative and transparent and felt invested in our wedding.
Molly, our coordinator, kept us on track (and that’s a high compliment coming from a pretty organized and control-freak bride) and worked with us to make everything work, from managing our vendors to suggesting ideas and being flexible when things inevitably changed. The day of our wedding was beautiful but cold, and Molly and team were there every step of the way shepherding people around and making sure every guest was comfortable. One thing I will never forget is standing under the arch, shaking from the cold and from excitement in the 40° weather in my strapless dress, and Molly appearing from nowhere to hand me a wrap and a white blazer so I would be more comfortable.
The venue is beautiful and there are so many places to host different parts of the wedding. Our guests loved that the weekend was a fall experience, and we felt good knowing there was plenty to do during down times.
The sugarbush team is undoubtedly the best at what they do, AND they make you feel like family. They really care that every vision you have, no matter how different, gets executed, and they take your wedding personally. Everyone should get to work with a great team like the sugarbush team.First, we want to thank the entire Sugarbush wedding team for their yearlong support in planning our wedding! 11/10 venue
Sugarbush is the perfect wedding venue!! We were married on October 28th, 2023 and after a particularly rainy summer, some autumn leaves stuck around for a lovely late-fall atmosphere. Not only are there several on-site lodging options for your guests, but the resort provides food and drink services, beautiful spaces for events before, during, and after the main event, and finally, event coordination, which I think is one of their most valuable services! We worked with Alyssa August from beginning to end. She guided us through the planning process and turned our vision into something that exceeded any and all expectations. Not only was she professional and responsive, but she was also extremely kind, fun, and reassuring, which helped me stay grounded and completely present once the wedding started. She is a PRO at what she does. We were provided with extremely helpful planning documents about 6 months ahead of the wedding for us to work on, and once our RSVPs rolled in, we were in constant communication for about 2 months leading up to the wedding. She was able to seamlessly handle any last minute changes, such as guest cancellations and moving the ceremony inside after a surprise change in the forecast. I should also note that while an outdoor ceremony was our original plan, the indoor ceremony within the Gate House Lodge was described as "electric" by our guests and felt destined to happen that way. The entire staff at Sugarbush was so well equipped to throw us the best party we've ever been to. The Clay Brook hotel is insane too - getting to hit the hot tub the morning after the wedding was awesome. GET MARRIED HERE. You will not regret it!Sugarbush is the perfect wedding venue!! Dream wedding - venue and staff!
We absolutely loved having our wedding at Sugarbush! We got married August 5th and the entire Sugarbush team made our dreams come true. Our event coordinator, Molly, was so organized and did not miss a thing! She curated an entire timeline for us and made decision-making so easy with recommendations and advice. The planning process was so smooth as mostly everything is in-house (food, beverage, linens, etc.) The only outside vendors we needed were photography, music, and hair/makeup for the girls. The staff at the hotel on site were SO accommodating and our guests loved staying there. We took the chairlift up to our ceremony and the lift attendants made sure all of guests felt safe and had fun! We also had our Rehearsal Dinner, Welcome Party, and Sunday Brunch all at the base of the mountain. It was so nice to have everything in one spot so no traveling around. We cannot recommend this venue enough, it's a gorgeous location and the staff alone is worth every penny. We absolutely loved having our wedding at Sugarbush! 10/10 - highly recommend!
Sugarbush is our home away from home. Naturally, we decided to host our wedding at our favorite mountain without any hesitation! From the moment we inquired, Molly was extremely friendly, professional, responsive, and informative. Believe it or not, we booked Sugarbush as our wedding venue before we were engaged (really took a leap of faith, to say the least). Molly guided us every step of the way with grace and patience. Alyssa became our coordinator later in the process, and the transition was seamless. Alyssa jumped right in! She took initiative, accommodated all our requests (big or small - within reason, of course!), and made the planning process effortless. Alyssa was clear and consistent in her communication and ensured no detail was overlooked. The best decision I made was also having her as the day of coordinator! We got married on October 15, 2022. Our rehearsal dinner and welcome party took place at our favorite après ski spot, Castle Rock Pub. We had a mountain top ceremony at the top of the Gate House chairlift -breathtaking- and our cocktail hour/reception was at the Gate House Lodge. We ended our big day at Castle Rock for an after-party! We could not have dreamed of a more beautiful day (and yes, the weather/foliage was picture perfect)! From Molly & Alyssa, the hotel staff, kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders (shout out to John and Laurie) the entire Sugarbush team took exceptional care of us! Needless to say, everything went off without a hitch and exceeded our expectations! We are SO grateful for the entire Sugarbush team for making our dream wedding a reality. We got through a pandemic together
Well it was bumpy start but mostly due to the pandemic, as soon as Abby (sugarbush's wedding coordinator) became the main contact everything was absolutely wonderful. Abby is excellent, attentive, and so pleasant to work with. They handled everything professionally, their staff at Claybrook were so warm and welcoming to myself and my guests. Everyone serving at the cocktail hour and reception were amazing and so friendly. Sugarbush was a great retreat for the guests, the hotel is expensive but in the bigger picture you're staying at a resort and the rooms were worth the price in my opinion. There was a pool, the gym, rumbles bistro (bar and food), chair lift rides for foliage peeping (it was 09/2021) available to all our guests. Sugarbush Resort allowed us to have our dream wedding. From the first interactions until the day of the event, our coordinator Calli didn't miss a beat. We were fortunate enough to have amazing weather so we were able to take the chair lift mid mountain for ceremony. Guests were blown away and are still talking about the views! Everything was exceptional and we were lucky to link up with great vendors in the valley for everything else we needed. Claybrook is stunning and the resort is truly impressive. If you are looking for something a little different, I highly suggest Sugarbush Resort as a wedding venue and wouldn't change a thing from our day.Sugarbush Resort allowed us to have our dream wedding. Getting married at Sugarbush was great from start to finish. They take care of the food, the bar, the rooms (no calling hotels and trying to arrange blocks), the linens, the tables, the chairs. It made the planning process a lot less stressful (and it's already stressful enough). We also didn't have to arrange transportation for our guests or worry about anyone driving. Our families raved about the food and the rooms (Claybrook is insanely gorgeous). Many of our guests came in from out of town and were able to enjoy Warren Falls, the Waitsfield Farmer's Market and all the surrounding beauty of the MRV. Calli was our wedding coordinator and she handled everything flawlessly—we didn't have to worry about any logistics the day we got married. The cocktail hour spot is beautiful, the lodge is HUGE (plenty of space for dancing), the staff was amazing and we love going back now to ski right where we got married! We also have the most beautiful pictures from taking the chairlift up. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Castlerock Pub and a welcome party which was awesome for everyone driving up.Getting married at Sugarbush was great from start to finish. We had Calli as our wedding day-of coordinator. She was FANTASTIC. She was super-responsive and thoughtful, attending to all the little details, and because she does exclusively weddings at Sugarbush she is very knowledgeable about how weddings should run there. I cannot say enough good things about her. We had an incredible experience planning our wedding at Sugarbush. Our wedding coordinator, Calli, was absolutely amazing - so flexible, responsive, accommodating and just a wonderful person! We met with her several times and she was always so willing to help us with any special request that we had and dedicate as much time as we needed to talk everything through. She was on top of every detail. The venue itself was perfect for what we wanted - a weekend away for friends and family where we could all be in one spot to make it easy and fun for all of our guests. The beautiful location does not hurt either! Although we had to use our rain backup on the day of our wedding, everything still ran smoothly and Calli helped make our wedding day just as perfect as we imagined. The service was great, we got lots of compliments on the food, and the drinks flowed all night. I would absolutely recommend having your wedding at Sugarbush! We had an incredible experience planning our wedding at Sugarbush. I had an amazing wedding at Sugarbush Resort. The staff was amazingly courteous and helpful to all of my guests. They are extremely customer focused and treat every guest like a star. Organizing the wedding was great- Cali and Andrea were flexible and down to earth. They were able to talk to both me and my parents and definitely made some special requests come true. Cali was a calm presence and everything went off without a hitch. They did all the "behind the scenes" work flawlessly. When my husband and I got back to our room, all of our gifts were there (no one had asked for this) PLUS two dinners in case we hadn't eaten and a giant tub of Ben and Jerry's! This was so sweet, unexpected and appreciated! The grounds at Sugarbush are gorgeous and we got amazing pictures and all of our guests were taken aback with the beauty. The rooms were set up perfectly- Cali did this without me and I couldn't have done it better or even thought of the ideas better myself. It was unbelievably beautiful. Sugarbush Resort is a beautiful place to have a wedding. We originally thought we wanted to have the ceremony at the top of the Gate House Chair and the mountain was more than accommodating to this idea. They are not set up for wedding on that side of the resort but they were happy to make it happen. After we saw both locations, we agreed that the regular wedding location on the super bravo lift was clearly the best. The guests loved the ride, we were thrilled with the views and the mountain top setting. They put on a great event at the top of that hill. The food was great, they were willing to work with our no conventional meal plan and make menu items they don’t offer. The room they gave us was beautiful and the perfect wedding suite to plan and host and enjoy a mountain top retreat. That being said, during the 9 months we planned our wedding we handed off to a total of 4 people. We reviewed our plans and needs 4 different times and corrected issues with the hand off of info 4 different times. At no point were we offered anything but a passing apology for the inconvenience. My bride felt that she was uninformed and ignored a bit on the day. Our coordinator was un-communicative in the hour(s) leading up to the wedding, causing her to worry about if she was in the right place or where our coordinator was. We booked the castle rock pub for an after reception party. The food we ordered was not “refreshed” as it was contracted to be because the bartender wanted us OUT. He left food unattended and began being rude to our guests at around 9:50 pm (10 minutes before his shift was suppose to be over). We offered him more money to stay open and he was rude in turning it down. (I understand wanting to go home to your family after work, but do get rude to people at the wedding). When the Maid of Honor asked him to play a song off her phone, he said “I’m not doing anything to make you people stay and Fucking longer”. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, welcome reception, ceremony and reception, and farewell brunch at Sugarbush during Community Weekend. Having all events under the supervision of our coordinator, Calli, make things incredibly simple. To start, Sugarbush is gorgeous. Unlike other ski resorts we looked at, Sugarbush keeps their trails well maintained even in summer. The views are stunning and the Gate House Lodge is the perfect combination of rustic elegance. With the surrounding area being so cute and pretty and all the activities of Community Weekend available to us, our guests commented that it was like a mini vacation for them.
Lodging options are excellent, at varied price points, and within walking distance. Claybrook, the main lodging, is right next to Gate House making it super convenient. Rooms are enormous and decently priced. Downside was our guests had to call during normal office hours to book, though we saw that another wedding had an online booking code, which would have made things easier.
All the staff were absolutely wonderful to work with. Bruce, the wine manager, and Shawn, the bar manager, ensured we got exactly the wine and beer we wanted. The facilities guys were great and patient in setting up on top of the mountain. The coordinator, Calli, I cannot rave enough about. Due to staff turnover, I didn't start by working with her, but when she was assigned our wedding, we went all the notes she had been given, she asked a few questions, and that was it - she had it under control. I would randomly email her an entire list of unrelated questions, and she would get back to me quickly, without batting an eye. I credit the weekend running as smoothly as it did completely to her. At the end of the night, after returning to our room, she had even left for us all the gifts, some food, and slices of cake. My husband and I were married on October 13th, 2013. We choose Sugarbush for the beautiful outside ceremony space and the promise of a private ceremony and reception.
Seven days before our wedding, I was told by the wedding planner that Sugarbush's first annual October Fest was scheduled on the day of my wedding. I was told my ceremony and cocktail hour site's would have to move.
Five days before the wedding, this was sorted out-somewhat. Security guards were hired for my wedding, there were several emails back and forth advocating to the Sugarbush staff why we did not want October Fest guests directly near our ceremony (which we had been promised would be private).
Four days before my wedding, we were told Sugarbush had purchased new tables earlier in the year and the seating arrangements were had made would not make. Unfortunately, we had handmade the table numbers with corresponding place settings. This was sorted out after my husband explained the math and make a diagram for the Sugarbush staff.
Just before I walked down the aisle, there were approximately twenty people (not wedding guests) who were standing directly next to my ceremony. When asked to have those people cleared out (as we had previously discussed and had in writing) the wedding planner rolled her eyes, and told me, the bride that once I walked down the aisle they would leave. When I began to cry and my mom went to ask the people to clear out, the wedding planner then went outside to ask them leave. While my husband was waiting for me to walk down the aisle, a October Fest guest who was drunk, spilled beer on a groomsman and then attempted to give my husband wedding advice.
After the wedding, we never contacted to ask about experience. I have never been so disappointed. I understand that things will never go perfectly, however an apology and basic customer service was all were asking for.
