Must have vendor!

When I say book Shirley now, I mean it!! There are not enough words to describe how amazing working with Shirley is and how purposeful she is with her work! From the very beginning she was responsive and so fun to work with. She has an incredible eye for design and makes any vision come to life. I am a huge floral lover and when I walked around my wedding and saw how Shirley brought every detail from my vision to perfection I was in awe! There is truly no one better!!! (will post photos when I get professional ones back, esp our ceiling installation!)

Amazing experience from start to finish

Shirley was amazing at helping our flowers and decor come alive. Truly the highlight of the wedding. Shirley was very responsive and easy to communicate with. She made our vision come to life. She was very flexible and helped work within our budget. From the beginning she communicated the entire process and the day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about anything. It was nice not to worry about set up or clean up. It was well worth it. She is the absolute best person to deal with decorations and flowers on the outer banks. Look no further than Sugar Snap Events!

Exceptional, personal, and so much fun

We chose to hire Shirley from Sugar Snap Events based on the “preferred vendor” list provided by our venue. From the beginning of the planning process through the end of the wedding itself, Shirley has been a consistently calm, responsive, and enthusiastic character. She knows her community inside and out, from the various venues to the various vendors. Her great relationships with all of them shows and was very important to us while our venue went through some changes in management. The venue did an excellent job with the shifts, but we had no doubt that Shirley was there to fix any hiccups that could have come up during that process. She did so much more than just decorating.

In addition to her interpersonal skills and expertise, she created magic out of the spaces we used during our events. She transformed a deck overlooking a beach, a stunning-on-its-own fine dining restaurant, and a somewhat basic building with lovely deck and lawn into uniquely lovely spaces, weaving our personal style into each venue without overwhelming their natural beauty. Her eye for the bigger picture as well as the smallest details made for a visual feast. The mix of sculptural, whimsical, and natural she created was everything we had imagined, but better. We feel so lucky to have hired her.

Amazing!!!

Shirley is the BEST!!! She worked with me through so many covid wedding changes, she was flexible and calm, and most of all, she kept me calm as well!! On our actual covid elopement wedding she graciously let me change into my wedding dress at her house/studio, as we had to travel to get to OBX and I had nowhere to change. That right there was WOW! Not many florists would help out the bride that much, and her kindness does not go unnoticed! Onto the arrangements - they were both stunning! I did some bright flowers for my real wedding and went with a cleaner, crisper look for the second wedding the year after. Both times they were stunning arrangements at great prices and I highly recommend Sugar Snap Events to anyone looking into an OBX wedding - you won’t be disappointed!!

Your Dream Wedding Awaits...

It's hard to put into words just how breathtaking my wedding venue turned out after I put my trust in Shirley from Sugar Snap. All of my guests raved about the decor and our wedding coordinator said we took the venue to the next level! Shirley was a dream to work with. She is incredibly creative, always available to communicate, and, most importantly, listens to your every desire. To top it off, she is so dang sweet! If you don't book Shirley for your Outer Banks wedding, you are missing out.

Laura was a life saver!

I am so happy to have hired Laura as our coordinator for our beach front ceremony. She went above and beyond, checking in on me during planning, easing my worries about the timeline and rehearsal stress, and made the day run so smoothly! Flawless florals and a pleasure to work with!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Shirley and her team! After postponing our larger reception in California, my fiancé and I decided to hold a 14-guest ceremony on my parent's deck in Southern Shores on our original wedding date. The intention was to keep it simple, casual and intimate. My parent's house is a 'happy place' of mine, so I truly didn't think the space needed much to feel special. But WOW-- Shirley exceeded every expectation I had. She was able to take my very simple "I like this picture"/ "I don't like that picture", and create a wedding ceremony I never could have dreamed up myself. All of my vendors were wonderful, but Shirley's work with the florals and accessories really created the overall vibe of the day and brought everything together. And, added bonus, she stayed right on budget and right on schedule through the whole thing! I wish I had 10 more wedding to plan so I could hire Shirley over and over again! : )

Made my wedding dreams come true :)

I can’t recommend Shirley from Sugar Snap enough. I did not have a specific vision for what I wanted my wedding venue to look like, just an idea of the feeling I wanted to create. I think my exact words to Shirley were something along the lines of “I don’t know, I like the color blue?” Somehow, she took my vague descriptions of what I was picturing in my mind and turned it into reality. The first time I cried on my wedding day was when I walked into the venue because it was surreal to see my half-formed ideas turned into an absolutely stunning reality. Shirley was always responsive to emails and available to speak on the phone when needed. She welcomed feedback and adjusted the design plan multiple times. She helped me prioritize when we needed to cut down for budget reasons. I felt very supported by her and her design was flawless. I would not want anyone else to have designed my wedding, and I highly suggest hiring her and her wonderful team!

Beautiful Flowers and Decor

The flowers and decor were picture perfect! Shirley took the ideas and pictures I sent her and put it all together for our beach wedding. We were planning long distance but she made sure to describe exactly what everything would look like and sent pictures of the flowers that were in the bouquets. She made sure my "something blue" fit right into my bouquet. Even with a last minute change in the reception layout, Shirley made sure the lighting and decor were perfect.

Perfection

Shirley was amazing! The first time we met up for coffee to discuss my "vision" for the wedding I knew she was the person to pull this together. I didn't have an exact idea in mind about flowers, Shirley walked me through some cards to understand what I liked and what I didn't. We also just talked about my and my fiance's interests which helped to design some of the more personalized features. Shirley also worked with us when we wanted to cut back a bit and find some ways to save. The day of the wedding was PERFECT, all my guest commented about how beautiful the decorations were and how the signs made were so "us." I can't say enough about working with Shirley - thanks for helping to make the perfect day!

Our wedding was a destination wedding at the Outer Banks. Shirley put me at ease the first time I talk to her, we knew that she was a truly professional. We have to thank her for the magnificent job she and her crew did with the flowers for our wedding. You are a true artist! Sugar Snap Events

My husband and I planned an Outer Banks wedding from Detroit, MI. We met Shirley through The Sanderling Resort and were so, so pleased with her professionalism, attention to detail and talent. We had minimal decoration, so I feared we would get minimal attention. Not at all the case. Shirley spent so much time talking through our personal style and likes/dislikes. Example: I told her I didn't want any lilies - they reminded me of funerals. But, I wanted a classic white bouquet with a subtle tropical twist. She sent me a photo suggestion and it was the most perfect flower - and it was a lily. She knows her stuff, and she wasn't afraid to make a suggestion. It ended up being one of my favorite parts about my bouquet. Also, that bouquet lasted a 13-hour drive back to Detroit! So pleased to have worked with Shirley. Also, we had a last minute change in guest attendance and they were happy to help us arrange for an additional boutonnière. It was a little detail, but it made my husband's grandfather feel very special.

The words beautiful, gorgeous, and perfect are not enough to describe the flowers and decor that Shirley and her team put together for my daughter's wedding. From the moment we met with Shirley and explained our vision, we knew it was going to be spectacular, but everything turned out beyond our wildest dreams. She was so easy to work with, very thorough and flexible. Her emails were prompt and informative. Shirley and her team are AMAZING! They created a picture perfect scene for our destination elopement in the Outer Banks that far surpassed our expectations. About two hours before the ceremony, I made an impromptu decision to wear my floral crown backwards. Carrie (Shirley's right-hand) stopped what she was doing and ran across the resort to rework the floral crown in my hotel room. It was truly above and beyond the call of duty!

I hired Laura and Shirley from SSE as my wedding coordinator and florist. I was blown away at how amazing they are!! Shirley did a PHENOMENAL job with all my wedding decor. We spoke once over the phone about my vision for the wedding and she captured it all in the most perfect/beautiful way.
Laura did an AMAZING job with coordination. I have no idea how we would've gotten through the ceremony/reception without her!! She knew exactly what to do, when to do it and made sure everything and everyone knew what they were supposed to do, including my husband and I. Thanks SSE for the wonderful service!! You're in good hands if you decide to hire Shirley & her team for your florals and decor. Shirley is so laid back, but full of creative suggestions and ideas. Our initial consultation was super informative, and she was responsive and open to changes and additions as the planning progressed. I actually shed tears when I saw the ceremony site - my expectations were exceeded in every way. She did a stunning fabric and lighting installation over our dance floor, built a really cool framework over our head table with hanging candles and greenery, and made custom arrangements on the handlebars of two vintage motorcycles that we had displayed to honor my late father. She put SO much work into making the day unique and beautiful, and it's clear that she crafts everything with love and care. Thank you Shirley!!

Sugarsnap was chosen for me as a part of a venue package, but I could not imagine a better person to work with than Shirley. She was very responsive to my questions and feedback, even when I was not always as responsive! She worked with me to stay within my budget, and gave me her opinions on what would look best. And, on the wedding day, when things needed to be adjusted due to weather, she made the decorations indoors just as lovely as they would have been outdoors. My bouquet and bridal party/family flowers were gorgeous. My only regret is that I couldn't afford to go hogwild! My advice to all brides is to let the pros do what they do--they know how to execute the best ever wedding for you! I was nothing but happy with our floral and decor, thanks to Sugarsnap!

I planned my Outer Banks wedding at the Mark Twain House from my home in Connecticut. I did a lot of research before going with Sugar Snap Events and I am so glad I did. Shirley was incredibly responsive & able to answer ALL of my questions (there were a lot) about the flowers for our wedding. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted, but didn’t want to spend an arm & a leg. Shirley made my vision a reality. Our flowers were beautiful! I highly recommend using Sugar Snap Events!

I had the opportunity to work with Sugar Snap Events for Katie & Mark's wedding. I was the wedding day coordinator and I picked up the flowers the day before the wedding. This team was amazing. They had everything ready, I walked through a check list to make sure we had everything and they helped me carry everything to the car! SugarSnap Events and Shirley were fantastic to work with. Shirley met with me several times to make sure I was getting what I wanted out of my flowers and other details. When I told her I wanted to use pumpkins and have them painted with nautical themes, she jumped on the idea. She even sent me an email to let me know when the Styrofoam pumpkins were on sale at Michael's. Everything she did for our wedding was absolutely phenomenal. If you are still looking for someone to help make your wedding beautiful, look no further, this is the place to choose!!!

Laura was excellent as our wedding planner! She was extremely organized, provided great recommendations, and made sure our special day was absolutely perfect! She took all the stress out of our day, and made sure we were taken care of!

Working with Shirley was an amazing experience! The first time we met, we sat and talked for hours about what our dream wedding would look like and then how to make it a reality. Shirley let us combine some DIY elements with her professional grade decor, and was incredibly easy to communicate with, update and revise proposals, and even switch some ideas as the wedding got closer. It was no surprise to us when we walked in both the ceremony and the reception space and it looked incredible! We are loving seeing our guests photos as they pop up since everything went so fast - but it could not have come out more beautiful! We had a Vow Renewal Ceremony for our 25th wedding anniversary. Shirley did an amazing job! It was a destination ceremony and all communication was done via email and phone calls. She did a great job at working with me on ideas and finding the perfect florals for the occasion. It was a small ceremony with a small floral need, yet she still took the time to offer me as much personal service as if we were having a large scale event.The florals and decorations created the exact atmosphere I was looking for. My husband and I got married two weekends ago at Jennette's Pier and used Shirley Cook with Sugar Snap Events as our florist for the wedding. She was absolutely AMAZING!!! This woman is a true genius in her field and knows everything there is to know about floral arrangements. As the first bride-to-be in the family, this entire process, especially in regards to florals, was completely new to all of us. Shirley helped us every step of the way, always responding to emails in a timely fashion and answering our billions of questions with ease. She even coordinated with I Do OBX to help with ceremony decor, as well. When our wedding day finally arrived, I was amazed at the decorations and bouquets that she had created for our event. They were absolutely BEAUTIFUL and exceeded every single expectation of mine! Shirley Cook is worth every single penny you will spend, trust me!! Shirley KILLED IT!!! This woman and her team work wonders. I had a really tough time picking flower types, colors, etc. and she worked with me tirelessly to find just the right style for our wedding. I basically chose some colors and several flowers, and let Shirley take the reins- she did an INCREDIBLE job. From our seating chart, to the centerpieces, to my bouquet, to the reception decor, to my bridesmaids awesome floral hoops (an idea Shirley had that I said go for it!), everything was exactly what I had pictured in my mind but couldn't put into words. Somehow this fabulous woman had read my mind and brought it to life. We could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding!

We worked with Shirley from Sugar Snap for our Wedding in May 2017 at the Sanderling Resort. She did bouquets for myself (the bride) and all four bridesmaids. We had to do most of our planning over the phone and through email because this was a destination wedding and she was great to work with. She took my lack of knowledge about flowers and turned it into exactly what I was envisioning! I was in love with how the bouquets turned out! They also photographed perfectly.
Shirley also decorated the driftwood arch we were married under. I gave her a picture I had found of what I was thinking and what she did on the day of the wedding was even more than I could have imagined. It was the perfect backdrop to our ceremony.
Lastly, Shirley installed strings of cafe lights over our outdoor venue. We had brainstormed ways to decorate the reception venue together and came up with this addition and this was one of the best decoration decisions I made for the wedding and she made it come to life!

Shirley was a delight to work with from the moment we met her. My mom was ready to book her within a few minutes of our first conversation. We described our vision for our altar for our beach wedding, and she immediately drew a mock-up of the entire thing. We were incredibly impressed by her follow-through and dedication. We got married during Hurricane Matthew, and the Tuesday before our Saturday wedding we were unsure if we were even going through with it. People like Shirley ensured that not only would we get married, but it would also still be beautiful even if indoors. She was at our venue the morning of and brought all of her extra materials since our location had abruptly changed. Even though we were now indoors instead of on the beach, she made adjustments and created the altar and atmosphere we had envisioned. She has a stellar personality and you cannot go wrong with Shirley.

I worked with Shirley at sugar snaps for the flowers and decorations on our wedding day. The whole day was more beautiful than imagined. Shirley worked closely with me to plan flowers for the whole day and was super flexible when I emailed her with changes even close to the wedding date. She has amazing ideas and I have never seen more beautiful flowers in my whole life.

I added succulents to my plan pretty late in the planning and Shirley gave me the idea to save and root the succulents when I got home so I could keep them long past our wedding day. Thank you so much!!!!

Shirley was a dream to work with and I am so happy and lucky she helped bring my non existent decor vision to life. Since meeting her last summer, she was always prompt to respond to emails, always answered all of my questions (even the dumb ones), and was always so kind and helpful. It's hard to plan a wedding from 6 hours away basically via email, but Shirley made it really, really, really easy. I was devastated when Hurricane Matthew was scheduled to hit the East Coast and we had to make the incredibly hard decision to move our wedding home to Charlotte. Shirley was so flexible and supportive of our decision and very, very last minute put together my bouquet and the boutonnieres and sent the rest of the flowers we had ordered from her home with us to Charlotte (and sent us home with some hobnail jars and candles too). Shirley is not only incredibly talented but she is incredibly kind, organized and easy to work with, and I highly, highly recommend her!

Shirley was absolutely amazing to work with since day one! From the first phone call, I could tell she is very passionate about what she does. When I first met with her, I was totally confused and didn't know how to explain what I wanted. All I told her at first, was that I wanted sunflowers. She then took it from there and was extremely helpful in providing suggestions and helping me visualize some different options. Needless to say, when I first laid eyes on my bouquet, as well as my bridesmaids, I fell in love! She nailed it and everything was exactly how I wanted it to be and more!

Shirley also set up string lights at my event, which turned out beautiful!

I highly recommend Sugar Snap Events! Shirley was very responsive and would answer all of my questions throughout the year in a timely manner. I absolutely loved working with Shirley from Sugar Snap Events. I was an out of town bride, so planning my July wedding in Corolla felt extremely overwhelming. However, Shirley answered all my questions and assured me everything would look fabulous on the big day!

Shirley was able to communicate fast over email, keep an updated itemized breakdown, flexible on making last minute changes, and able to give me advice on floral options (flower colors, types and cost). And, I can’t say enough about her patience (especially with a bride that constantly changed her mind on the types of flowers).

Shirley worked her magic and transformed the Currituck pavilion into a dream reception with sparkling lights, gorgeous floral arrangements and lovely beachy decor! Additionally, she provided beautiful ceremony décor and a spectacular chalkboard seating chart (it was like she read my mind). Above all else, her floral arrangements are stunning; you can tell she places a ton of time, creativity and passion in every design. Everything was absolutely beautiful – surpassed all my expectations!

Shirley was beyond outstanding! My friends Lorna and David were married in June at the Outer Banks and she provided nothing short of exceptional floral design and services. Originally, Lorna and I intended to DIY the flowers. It seemed easy enough but the more we started considering the logistics, the more complicated and expensive it was becoming. During one of our many trips to OBX to prepare for the wedding, we had a meeting with Shirley at Sugar Snap Events. We loved her right from the beginning. Not only was she prepared (she had already studied Lorna's Pinterest board), she understood the vision, had great suggestions, and was super warm and friendly. Lorna and David only went slightly over budget but the pay-off was incredible! Lorna and David had GORGEOUS flowers and decor! Shirley provided the beachy accents that Lorna had wanted to incorporate in addition to silver mercury glass votive holders. The decor featured beautiful textures and colors that all seemed to fit together. Lorna and David also opted to have fairy lights wrapped around the columns at the Sea Ranch that Shirley also provided. The look was beyond beautiful and everything that my friends had hoped for. I'm so grateful that we sought a vendor to handle the flowers rather than trying to take on the task. Shirley's work made the look of the wedding come together so perfectly. Our flowers were gorgeous & when it rained on our wedding day, Shirley worked quickly with our wedding planner to change our decor a bit to fit our back-up space. We had paid for a deiftwood arch on the beach, which would not have fit indoors, and she designed a backdrop with flowers for us on the fly. I met Shirley at the Expo and knew right off that bat that I had to work with her. She is funny and cool and has some of the best ideas. She clearly loves what she does. Leading up to the wedding she was amazing to work with and helped me create the exact bouquets and decor I was envisioning. We went back and forth with ideas and she always had great input - some stuff I didn't even think of, which was great and very helpful! Fast forward to the wedding day - she went above and beyond. She had added little touches that we hadn't even discussed. Everything look so amazingly beautiful. The lanterns on the ceiling - she added some other colors to soften it up and it was gorgeous. Little floral arrangements on the chairs for the sweetheart table. And let's talk about my bouquet! I was almost in tears when I had to finally throw it out because the flowers we dying. That's how amazing it was! I absolutely loved working with Shirley and wish I could do it all over just to work with her again. Haha! She's that great!!

I am SO happy we went with Sugar Snap Events for our flowers and decor. Shirley did an amazing job, and was totally prepared to help me figure out what I had in mind from the start.

When Shirley brought in my bouquet the day of the wedding, I cried because of how absolutely 100% perfect it was and seeing the most beautiful bouquet of ever seen with stargazer lilies, blue statice and starfish, it was that moment that the whole day became real, it was really in motion.

Shirley is very talented at what she does, and she really knows her stuff. She worked with us to make decisions and changes to stay within our budget, and had excellent suggestions and recommendations. Shirley at Sugar Snap Events was absolutely fantastic to work with in planning my daughter's 9/27/14 OBX wedding! Between our locations of Ohio, Virginia and the OBX, planning was a lot of e-mail, a couple of phone sessions and even Pinterest sharing. Shirley captured Lauren's vision for what she wanted for her wedding and brought it to life - - from her bridal bouquet to the hydrangea centerpieces in nautical roped vases to the navy and white paper lantern backdrop behind the sweetheart table to the bistro lights on the pool deck. The huppah on the beach with the beautiful white draping and greenery and then the coral sand scrolling down the center aisle for the ceremony itself were perfect as well. She's a pleasure to work with, is very responsive and provides creative ideas and alternatives to ensure the bride's happy (and her mother too). I wished we lived closer so I could have the pleasure of working with Shirley again - she's a gem for sure!

We used Sugar Snap Events for coordination services and florals. Laura (coordination services) was absolutely amazing! She was there every step of the way for anything I needed. She calmed me down when I had "wedding brain" and helped with everything possible. She is very detail oriented and knows exactly what it takes to make your wedding day perfect! If you are looking for a wedding planner, I highly recommend Laura. My fiancé even commented multiple times how great she was when she was directing us all during the rehearsal and day of.
My flowers from Shirley also turned out beautiful. I didn't have much in mind for flowers. Shirley drafted up some ideas for me and I couldn't believe how gorgeous they were when I saw them on my wedding day! They are both great to work with. Laura went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. She was very organized and confirmed all details with my vendors which took some stress away from me. She even found some things I overlooked and ended up getting some money back. It was nice having somebody else direct the guests up to cocktail hour, tell us when cake cutting was, etc. I definitely wouldn't have done it any other way.

We also hired her for set-up and break down which was wayyyy worth it. I loved not having to set up the tables, linens, decorations. We came the next morning to pick up our stuff and it was back in the packages/boxes and all lined up ready to be put in the car.

Sugar Snap did a wonderful job with our wedding decor! I worked closely with Shirley on the details of the decor and she was super helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. We had a bamboo "arch" decorated with curtains that were pulled back with an arrangement of starfish and ribbons. The arrangements were absolutely beautiful! Sugar Snap also made all of the bouquets for my bridesmaids and myself. I showed Shirley a picture of what I wanted, and she made it happen! I was very happy that I chose Sugar Snap to work with and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with their work! Thanks so much! - Jackie & Steve Hussey

Shirley is the BEST! The flowers turned out amazingly beautiful. They held up SO nicely that we were able to use them for our Post wedding brunch at my parents house on the day after. Out of all my vendors, I probably had the most contact with Shirley. She was always responsive and enthusiastic. She was also very considerate of my budget and presented options that were within my price range. Thank you!

There aren't enough "thank you's" for Shirley. She answered every phone call. She spent considerable time with the bride, my daughter, making sure every floral piece was exactly as Cait had envisioned it. AND - when the flowers Shirley needed didn't show up that morning the correct color - she HAND-PAINTED them. Every one said the floral pieces were stunning. Shirley and her staff are professional and friendly and no question or request was insignificant.

I cannot begin to tell you how perfect my experience was with Sugar Snap Events! Shirley won my heart on the very first day with her passion for her work and her equal passion of truly wanting to know my vision. She was impeccable to work with. She didn't miss ONE detail. She was responsive immediately, completely professional and EASY to talk to about anything we could have possibly needed.
More than this....

THE FLOWERS WERE GORGEOUS!! I've never seen any more beautiful. I sent her photos from the web of what my vision was and she EXCEEDED my expectations. I wish I had photos to post. Even the wedding photographer, who is one of the best in the OBX, said she'd NEVER seen more gorgeous florals at a wedding. Shirley made a gorgeous arrangement on top of driftwood for our centerpieces and our guests were all commenting on how STUNNING they were!

Honestly, when I saw Shirley's work, I cried tears of absolute joy.
I had to hug her neck and thank her about 10 times!

I'm pretty particular and there isn't ONE thing I could find about my experience with Sugar Snap that wasn't 100% perfection.

HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest Shirley and her team for your wedding day!

Shirley is AMAZING. Her prices were reasonable. She gave two visions in her workup so I was able to blend both ideas to create my perfect wedding day. Shirley was so easy to work with. We also rented some bamboo poles for the beach...though there was no beach and we got married on the pier, she fashioned them onto the pier so we still got our money's worth! Her interpretation of my fall flowers with circus roses and sunflowers can't be beat. She will give you so many price points you won't stress about spending too much money! Great Value, Great Service... definitely worth the money spent!

Laura was amazing!!! We hired Laura for day of coordination . I do not know what we would have done without her and am so glad that we chose to hire her. She is extremely professional, organized and she is amazing at orchestrating an event, she made my vision become a reality. It was PERFECT!!!!!! She allowed us to completely enjoy our day and she handled any issue or decision that came up She ensures your day runs completely smoothly. I highly recommend her to assist in planning your wedding and organizing your day and keeping it on schedule! Thank you, Laura for the amazing job.

Shirley the florist from Sugar Snap Events is so easy going and easy to talk to. She made my ideas come true for my wedding and it was beautiful! She will work hard to get your vision into everything you dreamed of. I changed my ideas so many times and she is so willing to get you what you want. My flowers were beautiful and everything that I dreamed of. She even decorated the pier house I got married in with twinkle lights and paper lanterns which made the venue truly amazing! I would recommend Shirley for your wedding in the Outer Banks because she will make your wedding everything you dreamed of.

I used Shirley at Sugar Snap as my florist for my wedding on June 18th 2013. She was AMAZING! I received so many compliments on the flowers from not only the guests, but also from friends who saw our pictures. Shirley was a pleasure to work with. While I knew exactly what I wanted from a color and attitude perspective, I did not know much about flowers. She helped create my vision and brought it to life. It was exactly what I was looking for. She also worked with my budget and helped make suggestions of what to cut and keep. She was one of my absolute favorite vendors!!! I highly recommend Shirley!!!

Shirley was an absolute lifesaver! Destination weddings are never easy, and not really cheap when all is said and done. On a law student's budget, I was really afraid that I was going to have to compromise on my flowers for our big day. Shirley helped me explore cheaper options that would look like what I had in mind, and I could not be happier with how my flowers turned out. Sugar Snap Events was phenomenal in the planning of our wedding in Duck, NC. Shirley was a ball to work with! Our very first conversation, she was so excited talking about ideas for flower arrangements and immediately got me so excited to start planning our wedding! As a bride from Ohio, never having been to Duck, NC before, she made everything simple and easy, communicating timely via phone calls and emails - emailing me pictures of everything from pictures to ribbon to vases. The flowers were exactly what I was hoping for – lush, romantic, and oh so fragrant! From the bouquets to the trio on the beach, they really were the perfect touch!

Shirley was great to work with in all aspects of wedding planning. From the initial phone call consultation to the returning of items after the wedding, she was fantastic. She brought ideas to the table, but also took the time to find out what my style and visions were. She also provided me with a number of options at different price points, which I really appreciated. She was the only vendor that I can really say was proactive, contacting me ahead of time saying it was time to review details or make final decisions, etc. My wedding was on a Sunday, the flowers in my bouquet still looked very good on Saturday when we were checking out and finally had to get rid of them. All items were great and helped make everything look fantastic.

Shirley Cook and her assistant, Kristin, are the absolute best! Find multitasking in any dictionary and their names are sure to be listed! They made the most gorgeous bouquet for my daughter's wedding - in a SHELL! complete with photo charms of some precious family members who are in Heaven. The focal point for the beach ceremony was just lovely and the flowers were perfect - just as my daughter had wanted. The time and effort Shirley and Kristin put into decorating the reception venue was outstanding. Could not have asked for a sweeter, more generous, hardworking team to make our daughter's wedding day perfect. Love these folks!!!

Shirley did my flowers and Laura was my day of coordinator. Both ladies were great! Shirley was very patient with me during the flower selection process. She is very knowledgable and worked with our budget. The flowers turned out beautiful! Laura and Shirley saved the day when the cake was dropped off and just left. (Shirley provided the flowers for the cake but the baker was to decorate it). Shirley was still at the reception site and decorated the cake for us. Laura made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day. She really took the added stress off of me for the day. I recommend both Shirley and Laura! Great job ladies! Thank you!

We used Sugar Snap Events for our flowers and worked with Shirley. Our wedding and reception looked amazing! Shirley was very easy to work with and very knowledgable! She helped in so many ways and was always positive and informative! The day before our wedding we had to change the ceremony location due to Hurricane Sandy and she reworked all the arrangements and everything was so beautiful!! I was referred to Shirley with Sugar Snap Events by my venue. She met with us with less than a days notice! She definitely knows her flowers & was very helpfull with pricing & suggestions. I decided to spend less on flowers & have her decorate & set up my event as well. I was very happy with the quality of my flowers & presentation as well as the set up of our reception room. Laura was the best investment I made for my daughter's wedding. Putting things together from another state was a daunting task. Laura knows EVERYONE in the wedding circuit and was amazing at orchestrating an event that was perfect. She has a great sense of humor and we had a great time in the planning phase. On The Big Day...all professional and no nonsense. Groomsmen were on time, vendors were in place, and we were able to make the best use of time. We were able to relax and enjoy the event fully. I used Sugar Snap events for flowers and decor for my wedding. Shirley was very easy to work with and was very patient with my indecisiveness. She listened to all of our requests and created a proposal with 1 higher and 1 lower priced option for each component so that we could better hone in on what we wanted to do within our budget. She was very flexible working with our budget and I felt that overall her pricing was reasonable. Shirley made time for us for meetings whenever we were in town for planning trips and will work with you to make sure you get what you want. She will make creative suggestions but will also listen to your preferences if there is something that you want specifically. The flowers were beautiful and the decor was amazing. I would definitely recommend Sugar Snap Events.

It was such a pleasure working with Shirley at Sugar Snap Events. I was not the most knowledgeable bride when it came to flowers and decor, and she was so patient with me and really helped me to create a vision. She took my ideas and turned them into reality and everything turned out more beautiful than I could have hoped for. She was very flexible with our price range and did a great job giving different options for us to choose from. Walking into my reception and seeing all of her hard work for the first time completely took my breath away. What more could a bride ask for on her wedding day? Highly recommended!

Laura is by far the most outgoing, responsive, flexible person we have worked with when planning our wedding! She had all the answers, and gave me the reassurance I needed when planning our wedding for the Outer Banks from Rhode Island. We knew the area, but not that well and Laura provided the extra assurance we needed when making decisions. The weather was not that great the day of our wedding and had to change the morning of our wedding to a beach ceremony to a ceremony in the yard on the pool under a tent. Laura had it all under control, calm, cool and collected, she ran the show and did it perfectly. Even though we were unable to get married on the beach, we had our dream wedding thanks to Laura and her quick decision making and effective know how. We loved working with her!

I wish I'd had Laura from Sugar Snap Events to plan the entire week's worth of events for the wedding. Having her on board for the day of the wedding made everything run smoothly. She was able to confirm details with all my vendors in advance so I could be worry free days before the wedding. Shirley from Sugar Snap Events also did our flowers. She provided so much guidance during the planning stages, as I didn't have great vision. The flowers turned out better than expected! They were affordable, and I felt I couldn't have done it without them both.

Shirley and her team did such an amazing job on our floral designs and decoration for our wedding on 5/19. She was super easy to work with and helped give us ideas along the way to make our wedding just beautiful. It was so nice to not have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding and Sugar Snap made that happen. The quality was just out of this world! Our centerpieces lasted for two weeks after the wedding! We were even able to use the starfish boutinere for my husband at our wedding reception party a month later. We were just wow-d by the experience and would recommend them to anyone!

Laura was amazing!!! I hired Laura for day of coordination and set up but she did so much more than that for us! She ensures your day runs completely smoothly.

Laura is extremely responsive, organized, professional, and just plain AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend her to assist in planning your wedding and organizing your day and keeping it on schedule! I'm so glad that I did and was able to relax and enjoy my day because I did!!!!

I also worked with Shirley who was equally as amazing! She was responsive, flexible, and dealt with my last minute changes and worked within my budget. Her vision for everything was absolutely perfect and I could not have asked for anything more. Everyone complimented me on our decor and flowers and I couldnt agree with more. I did not have much of a vision except for the colors I wanted in the wedding and Shirley completely guided me through the process and made everything absolutely gorgeous! I highly recommend Shirley for flowers and decoration - you won't be disappointed!!!!
