If you want the best, you want Karen!
We can’t say this emphatically enough: Karen is the BEST. She planned my sister’s wedding a few years ago and was so exceptional that hiring her was the ONE thing we knew for sure going into our own wedding. And she somehow managed to exceed even those high expectations!
From the very start, Karen’s organization and communication blew us away. She built a detailed schedule for the entire year and a half before our wedding, complete with customized to-do lists for both of us with appropriate timelines, and she was attentive in keeping everything perfectly on track. Every meeting felt productive and reassuring - she always came prepared, anticipated our needs, and coordinated seamlessly with all of our vendors to make sure no detail was overlooked. She even ensured that none of the groomsmen had a pacemaker which the magnet on the back of the boutonniere could interfere with - she was THAT thorough.
On the wedding day itself, she was equally incredible - calm, attentive, and always one step ahead. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing, which allowed us to be fully present and truly enjoy the day. Even the little things were taken care of - she made sure we had spare meals packed in our getaway car to eat the next morning.
Karen is everything you could want in a planner: organized, thoughtful, professional, and genuinely invested in making your wedding perfect. We’d recommend her to anyone without hesitation - she’s simply the best you could possible ask for.

The Gold Standard in Wedding Planning
If there were a Hall of Fame for wedding planners, Karen would be the first inductee and the standard everyone else is measured against. Hiring her was, without exaggeration, the single best decision we made in the entire wedding process — she is worth every penny and more.
Unless you’ve planned a wedding before, it’s hard to realize just how many decisions, details, and opportunities exist. You may even think you can do it yourself — we toyed with that idea. We could not have been more wrong. Karen saw things we never would have thought to consider and elevated them in ways that completely transformed the experience.
From day one, she operated on a completely different level. Her organization, precision, and command of the process were astonishing. She had a plan for everything before we even knew it was a thing to plan for. For example, by the time we thought to ask about donating our flowers after the event, Karen had already anticipated it, made arrangements, and had a plan in place if we chose to move forward.
Another example: our wedding was initially planned to be outdoors. Karen had been closely monitoring the forecast and knew well in advance that moving inside was a real possibility. When that decision ultimately had to be made, my wife and I were overwhelmed and unsure how to proceed. What we didn’t realize was that Karen had been quietly coordinating behind the scenes for weeks — working with every vendor, building a detailed backup plan, getting vendors to arrive early, swapping out our contracted outdoor heaters for beautiful indoor décor, and ensuring the entire transition happened seamlessly. What could have been chaotic was instead calm, elegant, and flawless.
Karen’s foresight extended from the biggest logistical challenges to the tiniest details. Even something as small as making sure the whipped cream at our hot chocolate bar wasn’t sitting in a generic container — but instead beautifully styled with a stitched cover that matched the overall design — never escaped her attention. Nothing was overlooked.
At the same time, Karen never made it feel like the wedding wasn’t ours. She didn’t take decisions away from us — she made them better. We still got to do all the fun parts: choosing the flowers, the décor, the cake, the band, and the overall feel of the day — but she handled the hard parts and presented us with thoughtful options so every decision felt easy and exciting.
Timelines were immaculate, communication was constant and crystal clear, and every step felt intentional and calm — even when the behind-the-scenes complexity was enormous. She anticipated issues before they existed, solved problems without ever involving us, and made decisions with confidence and taste that we trusted completely. Every single vendor — and I truly mean every single one — told us that out of all the planners they work with, Karen is by far the best. Vendors respected her, trusted her, and knew that when Karen was involved, everything would run smoothly.
What truly sets Karen apart is that she somehow combines absolute mastery with genuine care. For her, the wedding is about more than just a beautiful event — she never lost sight of what it was really about: the love between you and your partner and the beginning of your life together.
On the wedding day itself, she was nothing short of extraordinary. While everyone else was celebrating, she was orchestrating dozens of moving parts flawlessly and with total composure. Because of her, we were fully present. We felt taken care of in ways that went far beyond what we ever expected. She handled big things, tiny things, emotional things, and logistical things — all of it — in a way that borders on superhuman. The most common phrase my wife and I kept saying that day was, “Thank goodness for Karen.”
If you are considering hiring Karen, do it. I cannot recommend her enough. There is no upgrade beyond her. -

Couldn’t have done it without Karen!
We absolutely loved working with Karen. She went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect and truly made the entire planning process seamless. With our busy schedules, we could never have managed it all without her. She provided clear step-by-step instructions, a detailed timeline, and truly took the stress out of every stage of the planning process. Karen’s timeline helped break up our planning process into manageable pieces, with a list of things to accomplish each month leading up to the wedding. She was incredibly flexible and always made time to meet whenever it worked best for us. She thought of every detail and made us feel supported from start to finish. Best night ever, worth every penny
Karen is just amazing at her job! I don't even know where to begin! Her attention to detail and her memory of phone conversations and texts and panic calls when you think of something at 2am, is outstanding. She is also calm, collected, professional, kind, caring and fun. She truly wants to see your vision come to life. My son and DIL's wedding was more than I could have dreamed of. Everything was just handled. She would appear out of nowhere and hand us a beverage. She would appear out of nowhere and do a quick check in. Her staff was fabulous. Every single thing went smoothly, if something was amiss, she handled it, and I never knew! I am so thankful that Karen was behind this beautiful event. Hire her, you will not be disappointed! -

From the very beginning, Karen Erwin was amazing! In addition to being very organized, experienced and professional, she is genuine, kind and very easy to work with. Communication was great. Karen was happy to answer any question, talk through ideas and provide solutions to make the event day as stress free as possible. She also helped with securing vendors(all were great!) and coordinating contracts and meetings. There was a timeline provided and calls to review, so we stayed on track without things becoming overwhelming. Attention to detail was outstanding. I was confident that everything would be handled, which allowed us to enjoy the day. Things came together beautifully. The wedding was so awesome and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! -

Best. Day. Ever.
St. Augustine Weddings was great to work with! My husband and I worked with Karen Erwin specifically and she was amazing. Very communicative and scheduled but also very flexible. We had frequent scheduled calls to make sure we were on task which helped me quite a bit because we are out of state so I could not physically be there all the time. I never thought I wouldn't have a question answered and she was always available by phone or email. Karen thought of things that I would have completely forgot about or did not even think about. She never pushed anything, gave advice but also made sure everything was my final decision. She had great vendors to recommend for everything and we could not have picked a better team to work together on our wedding day. The day itself ran very smooth with no hiccups. A lot of my friends and family said it was the most fun and well organized wedding they have ever been to. It was the best day of our lives and we have Karen to thank for that! -

The Golden Egg of Wedding Planners
Where to begin! Karen with St. Augustine Weddings and Special Events is thorough, knowledgable, professional, compassionate, and a joy to work with. In recapping our special day of April 6, 2025 at Lightner Museum, we had only roses to discuss and no thorns (which is rare!). Throughout the planning process, Karen curates a custom wedding checklist with tasks and due dates so you never question when you have a balance due, need to order your guest book, or even order extra black socks for the groomsmen in case they forget (which came in handy by the way). Wedding planning has a negative association in society making brides believe it is stressful and unenjoyable, Karen proved that stereotype to be WRONG! I am so happy to say I had zero stress with Karen's attention to detail and organized timelines. I will even go as far to say that I miss our wedding planning phone calls, as she made the process so enjoyable. Karen has so much knowledge to give whether you are needing guidance on venue selection, finding the perfect vendors for your wedding day, and even places for your out of town guests to stay for your wedding. I cannot recommend St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events enough. If you get the opportunity to work with Karen and her team, consider yourself a very lucky girl as they are true gems! Couldn't have done it without them!
Highly recommend St. Augustine Weddings and Karen Erwin. She was highly attentive and thought of every little detail and potential issue that we could have never realized on our own. Karen had great recommendations for other vendors and was extremely knowledgeable about our wedding venue (Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club), which made our wedding day go so smoothly, even with over 200 guests. With Karen at the helm we were fully able to relax and have fun on our wedding day, which is truly priceless. Karen is a bargain based on the amount of hours she was willing to meet and talk through every little desire I had for the day, and went through great lengths to bring them to life. She was extremely helpful with keeping me on track with all the planning tasks and ensuring that there was no mad scramble within the last two months. We heard nothing but good feedback from our guests regarding every aspect of our wedding day, and I truly attribute that to all the behind the scenes work and recommendations from Karen. -

Choosing Karen as our wedding planner was the best decision we made! She took the time to understand us and our vision, and made it come to life perfectly.
One thing I really appreciated about Karen’s process was how much work she did behind the scenes to make our decision-making easy. We could make decisions with minimal stress knowing that every vendor that Karen presented had already been well-vetted and could match our vision for the day.

Saved by a True Professional!!
I contacted Karen after an unfortunate event occurred with my daughter’s wedding planner about 6 weeks prior to her wedding. Karen was booked for the wedding date but she took time to guide us in the right direction. Not only did she help us find the perfect planners to assist with everything with very little time to spare, but she also took time to check on us periodically throughout the process. I could not believe she was so concerned about people who were not even her clients! She truly loves her job and knows the ins and outs of wedding planning like the back of her hand. She took a hysterical puddle of a human (that was me) and built her back into an excited Mother of the Bride! My daughter’s wedding turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined! Without Karen, we would not have gotten to the finish line and I will forever be indebted to her kindness and professionalism. From the moment I met Karen, I knew my wedding would be everything I dreamed of and more. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Karen turned the entire process into a joyful and seamless experience.

Fairy Godmother of Wedding Planning
Karen has years of experience which was extremely helpful to my daughter and myself since I had not planned a wedding in over 30 years! I was assisting my daughter with her wedding plans since she works extremely long hours and I live 6 hours from the wedding venue. Karen was fantastic about suggesting vendors - though we could select anyone we wanted, and with suggesting different ideas for the ceremony and reception- things we would never have thought of. She also communicated with all the vendors which was a great time saver and managed all of them the day of the wedding which was invaluable!!! Karen and her team (she came with 5 assistants the day of the wedding based on the size of my daughter's wedding) were so thorough and helpful. It allowed my daughter and myself to enjoy the wedding day to the fullest! They were worth every penny and honestly when I think of ALL the time she spent on phone calls with us and the vendors and the meetings (2 walk-thrus, rehearsal and wedding day) the cost / hour was so reasonable. I recommend Karen and her team to the fullest! -

Karen is Amazing!
One of the best decisions we made for our daughter’s wedding was having Karen as our wedding planner! My daughter wanted her wedding at Ponte Vedra Inn in Ponte Vedra, FL, but we are not from the area, so we were initially a bit concerned about finding vendors and organizing everything. We needn’t have worried. Karen made the whole process so seamless! She found us fantastic vendors including florals, photography, videography, hair and make-up, lighting, and musicians. Everyone she recommended was so nice and did such a great job! She made sure everything for the special day was just how my daughter and her husband had envisioned it! Karen provided us timelines of when things needed to be decided and paid which was so incredibly helpful! She was always available for questions and was so kind to work around our schedules and have calls with us in the evenings. Karen also had many great suggestions along the way, many of them for things we hadn’t even thought about, but were a big hit at the wedding like fun LED wands for dancing at the reception. On the day of the wedding, we were all relaxed knowing Karen had things well organized. The ceremony and reception all turned out so beautifully, and that was in large part thanks to Karen! I highly, highly recommend Karen and St. Augustine Weddings! -

The Perfect Day, Thank You to Karen
Being from St. Augustine, when my wife and I first got engaged, we thought we would be able to handle it all. Let me tell you, Karen from St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events was an absolute lifesaver for us.
First and foremost, Karen's dedication brought an incredible joy and sense of relief to my wife and myself. It was remarkable to witness the way Karen effortlessly grasped our wedding vision from the outset, and her commitment to bringing it to life truly exceeded our expectations.
The timing couldn't have been crazier either – we were right in the middle of moving from Colorado to California when we started planning. We were stressed out just thinking about trying to coordinate everything on top of the move, but Karen made it easy. She handled every detail with such professionalism and grace, I honestly don't know how we would've pulled it off without her.

Stress Free Wedding of Our Dreams
We truly have nothing but positive things to say about Karen and her team! My fiancé and I both felt nervous to start the process of planning a wedding, just knowing how stressful they can be. There wasn’t one moment where we felt overwhelmed by stress and we always knew the next step of the process and what we needed to do. Karen had consistent calls set up with us and made my fiancé and I feel so involved. She was able to capture the image we had in our heads, and every single detail on our day was exactly how we had envisioned it. She was also able to line up an amazing list of vendors for us, and took care of most of the communication with them for us. The "best of the best"!
We were referred to Karen by a friend and after speaking with several venues, quickly learned she was the "best of the best". We were very fortunate to have her as our wedding planner. She is incredibly talented and knows the wedding and St. Augustine/Jax market very well. She assisted with vendor selection and took over 6 weeks out. Stress-free Wedding Day!
Karen Erwin was an amazing wedding planner! From start to finish, she managed every detail flawlessly, making my daughters special day absolutely perfect. She carefully listened to how we wanted the day to go, and made it happen. Instead of givng guest a choice of protein for the dinner, she suggested a Duet. Each guest was given both the Mahi & Chicken in smaller portions. That way we did not need to mail out an extra card and hope that people mail it back. Such great advice!!

The best decision I made!
Karen Erwin was absolutely amazing! I am a night shift critical care nurse which can be stressful enough without planning a wedding. She worked around my hectic work schedule and made me feel at ease with everything. Me and my now husband moved here 2.5 years ago from the Midwest so we didn’t know where to even begin with vendors, everyone she recommended were amazing. The day couldn’t have been more perfect. Karen Erwin was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was recommended to me by a friend who knew someone that had used her and I have thanked them multiple times for giving me her info. We have only been in the the area for a few years so that helpful insight she gave on venues to look at , and vendors for everything we needed was a blessing. The package we chose gave us hours of preplanning and help plus day of coordinating for the rehearsal and the complete wedding day! Every vendor that we chose were excellent and professional and the whole experience from beginning to end was everything we imagined. I felt like sometimes Karen was not only a wedding planner but also my personal therapist when I would be overwhelmed with wedding drama but she was always there to listen and make everything right. THE BEST Wedding Planner
When my mother, husband and I hired Karen, we kept hearing the same thing from vendors: "Thank goodness you're working with Karen." It didn't take long until we knew that we agreed. Karen was the perfect balance of enthusiasm and professionalism. She had every detail down to a T and was knowledgeable about aspects of our wedding from the ceremony to the rehearsal dinner to different types of bustles. She responded to all my questions within hours, if not minutes, and worked magic in finding ways to save us money and achieve our perfect day. Furthermore, she was fabulous in working with my husband and he felt that she respected and understood his priorities in addition to the "girlier" things. Truly exceptional!
There are certain individuals in which one’s trust needs to be absolute. Airline pilots and surgeons come to mind quickly, but one might argue that “wedding planner” should be on that list :)
Without hesitation, we would say that we had absolute trust in Karen Erwin from the first meeting.
Part of Karen’s skill may be her incredible attention to detail. From the first meeting, Karen asked a lot of questions to understand our vision of the event. She met with us regularly and attended to specifics that we could not have anticipated. Throughout the process she remained unflappable and fully prepared. When we got to the big day itself, she was clearly in charge, totally capable of managing anything that came up. Despite her authority, she still managed the event (and the participants) with pleasure and kindness that kept everyone at ease.
Another other part of Karen’s success may be her sincere investment in the couple. She knows what an important event the wedding is for them and their families. Our friends and family members have all shared their stories of wedding planning frustrations and wedding day mishaps. My daughter and I came into the planning process with that expectation, but those frustrations and mishaps just never materialized. In other words, we never had a single issue arise on Karen’s watch. Her expertise, wisdom, insight with vendors and positive attitude made both the planning and the wedding day itself an absolute joy for our family. I would give my highest possible recommendations for Karen to manage your special day.

The Fairy Godmother of wedding planning!
From the very first introductory phone call, I knew that Karen was my wedding planner. We went with her full-service package and it was incredibly worth it. Karen is probably the most thorough person that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Each time we spoke we would break down the calendar checklist she created at the start of the process. This was essential and ensured that nothing was left until the last minute. Our engagement was roughly 9 months and in that timeframe when someone would ask me about wedding planning or if I was getting overwhelmed or stressed out; I would simply state that I have the world's best wedding planner and that the process was flawless. The best wedding planner you could ask for!
Karen is the absolute best!
My husband and I live in New York and Karen made planning for our Florida wedding seamless. We were only able to travel to our venue once, but that did not matter because Karen took care of everything. She helped us book the best vendors and left no stone unturned.
As the bride, the thing I most appreciated was how relaxed and in-the-moment I was able to be because of how organized Karen is. We were able to put full trust in her and I felt fully taken care of throughout the entire process. We could not have done it without her.
Karen is extremely organized, thoughtful, prepared, and has great relationships with all the vendors in the area. You can tell she has been doing this for a long time because of how professional she is. She also made the process so fun and we are sad that we don't get to speak with her regularly anymore! -

Took care of every single step of the day!
We hired St. Augustine Weddings & Events for our June 2022 wedding with the Wedding Day Director Package and it had to be one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Working with Karen in the months, weeks and days ahead of our special day was an breeze. She made sure we were on track with our planning and put together the most detailed and well though through time line for the day of. By the time we got to the week of the wedding we had nothing to worry about as she was in constant contact with us and all our vendors. Even the day before we had a change in vendor due to illness and she made the process stress free and had already resolved the problem before we knew it existed. When the day of the wedding arrived everything was perfectly in place as we discussed and there was no stress for anyone in the bridal party, Karen was even there with the perfect advise about bad weather that miraculously cleared up for our outdoor ceremony. All of the vendors she had suggested were top notch, professional and amazing to work with. Karen and St. Augustine Weddings & Event were certainly the key to a fun and stress free wedding day. -

Karen Erwin and her team are truly the best in the business! My wedding was extremely detail oriented, with several different locations, and more than 20 vendors. Karen handled everything with true professionalism, timeliness, and care. She met with me frequently throughout the planning process and made sure that everything was exactly as I wanted it. Despite all her original hard work, the wedding was postponed due to COVID, and yet again Karen contracted with all the vendors, found a new date and orchestrated the same event a year later. In the Hands of a real pro
Karen was hired as the day of and with all her experience, contacts and knowledge she made my life so easy while I was planning.
Then COVID hit and everything got moved 2 times. She was awesome helping me try to maneuver through unknown waters. So I hired a day of and got a 2 year of!!!
When our day arose I knew we were in great hands because she had everything down to the strictest time line. Her weekly phone calls confirming we had everything checked off the list was essential so nothing was overlooked. She went above and beyond expectations. The biggest complement I can give her is “I totally enjoyed the day!!!”

In August 2018, my daughter and I began planning her and Josh's wedding for April 2020. From the first moment we met Karen, we knew we wanted her to be their "day of coordinator". Each time we contacted Karen, she responded promptly and answered all of our questions. Throughout our planning process, there were several changes that had to be made. Karen was there to help with them all. Then the biggest change of all...covid hit and they had to postpone their wedding until 2021! Kayla and Josh went ahead and had a small family wedding at home in Georgia and postponed their Palm Coast, FL wedding to April 17, 2021! Once again, Karen helped with all of the changes! She is very professional and organized and obviously loves her job! On the wedding day, we had to make a few more changes due to weather. Karen took all the wedding day stress away and I completely enjoyed being a "mom" at my daughters wedding! Karen was so much more than just a "day of coordinator". She went above and beyond her job! Karen went above and beyond our expectations throughout the entire process. Given that our initial wedding was cancelled due to Covid and we had to reschedule another wedding a year later - situations which none of us, including Karen, have ever undergone - she was patient, encouraging, and positive throughout the entire time. There was no way we could have summoned up the courage to see our rescheduled wedding through if it wasn't for her. She was super organized, punctual, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Karen is the Fairy Godmother on your Magical Day that every Bride should have!
My now husband and I had the pleasure of working with Karen for 2 years due to COVID wedding postponements, we were finally married on 01-30-21! While the postponement itself was incredibly stressful, one of our silver linings was the opportunity to get to know Karen better throughout that extended timeframe. Karen is absolutely incredible, and we could NOT have transitioned our original wedding date without her. Karen’s attention to detail, calming spirit, professionalism, and true dedication to her couples’ wedding day is UNMATCHED!
During the planning process she reviewed our contracts and provided endless insight on things we had NO idea about or would never have thought of, always offering sound perspective that we were truly thankful to have! Through our original postponement in March 2020, she compassionately worked with us as needed at all hours of the day making the postponement as easy as it could be given the circumstances.
Two weeks before our NEW wedding date, our venue had to change. As an out-of-state couple, this was absolute chaos. We were unable to see our new venue prior to arriving 4 days before the wedding, and Karen was absolutely AMAZING at stepping in and Facetiming us for a virtual tour of our new space, as well as handling all communication of the venue change to our vendors! By our wedding day, it did not feel OR look like our wedding was supposed to be somewhere else. We brought in much of our own wedding décor and her and her team staged everything beautifully.
Karen is absolutely wonderful. Her timeline on our wedding day was seamless. She was always so prepared and organized, I can honestly say I experienced a complete worry-free day and I attribute most (if not all) of that to her! Overall, our wedding planning experience was jam packed with twist and turns, and she demonstrated her ability to work through all of those issues seamlessly and head-on. As a bride with little guidance from parents or family, Karen was the experienced-mother-helping-me-plan that every bride should have!
Karen, thank you so much. You are heaven sent, we love you and cannot thank you enough for all you did for us! Our wedding day was even BETTER than we could have imagined it to be, thanks to you!-

My dream wedding would not have been possible without Karen and her team!
I feel like I will never have enough words to describe how amazing Karen and the team at St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events are. When I first got engaged, I honestly thought I didn't even need a wedding planner and that I could do everything myself, and BOY was I wrong. I could not have done any of this without Karen's help. From our very first phone call, Karen helped me to feel comforted and supported throughout the entire wedding planning process. After I hung up from my first phone call with Karen, I went to my fiance and said, "Oh my goodness, I feel so much less stressed already!" She helped to take so much stress off of my plate and made the whole planning experience so much more fun. Karen was incredibly reliable, and ALWAYS answered any texts, phone calls, or emails that I sent immediately. Karen was so thorough throughout our planning, and she made sure that no details fell through the cracks. She also made sure that all decisions were made with me in mind, and truly wanted me to have my dream day. Every request that I had, no matter how big or small, she made it happen. I loved that Karen had so many years of experience, so there was no situation that she hadn't already dealt with before. She worked tirelessly to establish an organized and detailed timeline for our wedding day that ran SO smoothly, and made it so that I never had to worry about what was going on. She also took so much stress away from me by communicating with all of my other vendors and the venue. Any time that there were any questions or issues with any of my other vendors, Karen was ON IT. In addition to being a hard working business professional (honestly one of the hardest working people I've ever met), Karen is also just an incredibly warm and wonderful person. She always knew what to say when I needed guidance or just someone to vent to. My mom was a major part of the wedding planning, and Karen was so wonderful with helping her too. She made my mom feel seen and heard, more relaxed, and gave her the opportunity to actually enjoy the wedding and not have to stress about the planning. When our wedding day finally came, it ran so smoothly and there were literally no issues or hiccups. If there were any, I know that I never noticed them because Karen had them fixed immediately. I truly had my dream wedding day, and I know that I have Karen to thank for that. To all of the engaged couples out there - DO NOT PLAN YOUR WEDDING WITHOUT KAREN!!! I promise it will be the best decision you could possibly make when it comes to your wedding. Karen - thank you SO much for making all of my wedding day dreams come true. I love you! Best decision we made!
Of all the decisions we made while planning our wedding, choosing Karen to help us plan our big day was by far the best we made. Planning a wedding comes with some stress, especially when a pandemic breaks out in the middle of the process. Karen was there every step of the way to ensure all our needs were met. She spent so much of her time getting a feel for our wedding vision and was available for a quick question at all times. Her years of experience and amazing organization skills helped create the perfect wedding. She pays attention to the littlest of details and is quick to problem solve when something comes up.
Come wedding day we had gone over every detail multiple times to make sure everything went the way we expected. Karen and her team made everything run so smoothly, we didn’t have to stress about a thing on our big day. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. Made our wedding an absolute dream!!
I would 1000% recommend Karen and her team at St. Augustine Weddings to any bride in the North Florida area! If you are questioning whether getting a wedding planner is worth it, I can GUARANTEE you that it is - and if you are trying to find someone who will deliver and outperform on the value of their services, you need Karen Erwin. She made our wedding planning easier than I had ever imagined, especially when I was a bride planning from out of state and busy with a professional life and in law school.
TLDR: our vendors loved her and worked very well with her (which I realized is critically important), she helped anticipate and preempt any issues we might anticipate, she ensured that my husband & I's wishes, vision and priorities for the day all were met and executed even better than we hoped, the month before the wedding was the least stressful month of wedding planning and let me enjoy the excitement and build-up of the big day.
Karen and her team made our wedding planning and day-of wedding better than we could have imagined! I was a bride who was getting married in Florida (my homes state) while living in NYC, and at first I was stressed about the logistical concerns involved with planning a wedding from afar but did not have any doubts with Karen leading our team. I selected her because she came very highly recommended by our venue, which to me is the most important indicator of how good a planner is (in our heads, Instagram shots are great and they show the visuals that your florist/decorator/venue provides but they have a hard time capturing if food service was timely, the band set-up was perfect, and if guests were able to get easily drinks from the bar). This decision was consistently reaffirmed when we told our other vendors who our planner was and they all gushed about how great she was to work with and reiterated what great hands we were in.
We utilized Karen on a semi-regular basis leading up the wedding and then used her full assistance the month before. In the months before, she was beyond helpful in making sure that my mother, mother-in-law, and I were on track with planning, that we didn't overlook any details, and gave advice on how to make the event seamless and stress-free. She always had suggestions when we asked for advice regarding how to approach vendors, what options/packages/scheduling would be best to deal with concerns such as guest flow, visuals and aesthetics, and making sure our guests were well taken care of; but what was special to me was that she always hedged her advice with "this is your wedding, it should meet your vision" and always encouraged me to be as frank and forthright as I could be when something wasn't exactly like I had envisioned it - even if it was not one of her original suggestions. She understood our priorities for the day (taking care of our guests, making sure everyone had fun, and making sure the wedding represented my husband and I). Like I said, I'm in law school now, and the month before the wedding (when everyone said things would be the most chaotic) we had weekly calls with Karen where she updated me on all of the conversations she had with our venue, vendors, band, church and our parents and would tell me how she had been able to finalize all the details I had been concerned I'd have to manage alone in the weeks leading up to the big day - it was such a huge help. I didn't have to think through concerns with day-of timing, confirming details with vendors, the stress of communicating our seating charts, or figuring out what to tell bridesmaids/groomsmen to help them prepare.
I'm sure he will be on this site as well writing his own review, but I also loved that Karen always made sure that my husband was included in the process and that they were able to develop a relationship themselves. We had seen that for some of our friends, wedding vendors are quick to prioritize the bride and make sure it was special for her but put less focus on the groom- but to me and my husband, we wanted the day to reflect both of us - which included him, his personality, and his hopes as well (which was most importantly great food, great music, and happy guests) and Karen and her team consistently looked out for his interests as well. It made sense to us to start the marriage from Day 1 at the wedding as a team and to have your marriage reflect you as a couple, not just a bride, and it was so special to us to have a team of vendors led by Karen that helped make this a priority for us.
Karen also was so willing and easy to work with not only me and my husband, but my mother and now mother-in-law. She knew how much I valued their help and was more than willing to work with them directly when needed on details that I was happy to turn over, and always confirmed with me that their conversations matched what I wanted.
Overall - I had such a great experience with Karen and her whole team. They made me feel so special as the bride, and our confidence in Karen and her work allowed my family and I to focus only on getting married and celebrating on the big day. -

Dream Come True
As the mother of the bride, I am so grateful we had Karen Erwin as our wedding planner. She is very professional, extremely organized and was always on top of what needed to be handled before we could even think of it and always with a smile on her face. We had a lot of "hands in the pot" during the planning process, and Karen was always there to help facilitate and kept it all on track. When I think back on the wedding weekend (it was a full weekend event), I realize how many moving parts there were. It was basically a destination wedding since no one lived in the area. We never once had to worry about anything, because Karen (and her staff) had it all running smoothly. She did the work on her end so that it was absolutely flawless. Many of our guests commented it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and that's largely because of Karen and her attention to every detail. One of my favorite things was she allowed me to have a first look at the ballroom right after the bride and groom had theirs, and I'm so thankful she did so that I could just enjoy the moment and take it all in. For me the day of the wedding was so calm and relaxing, and I was able to just enjoy my daughter's special day, visit with our guests, take in the beauty of it and have fun, and that was because I knew, without a doubt, that Karen would handle anything that might come up, and we were in good hands. I would 100% recommend Karen Erwin (St. Augustine Weddings and Special Events) if you are in need of a planner. She's the absolute best!! I look forward to getting together with her now that the wedding is behind us, as I feel like I now have a wonderful new friend. -

Dream Come True
Karen was simply amazing! Our wedding was at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club this November, and we hired Karen to be our "day of" planner. My fiance and I live in Nashville, so most meetings with Karen were on the phone, and from our first phone call she put us at ease that our wedding would be perfect. Karen was beyond flexible with late night and weekend phone calls around our work schedules, and was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had, usually with both an email and a phone call or text. Her recommendations on vendors were incredible, and when we had a few glitches in communication with vendors, Karen was the first to contact them and get us all aligned quickly. Her responsiveness to anything we asked, big or small, made the process so easy for us, and added to our complete trust in her from the beginning.
About six weeks out from the big day she sent us several Google docs to start providing her with information around the bridal party, timeline ideas, vendor details, you name it and it was on one of her sheets. She followed this up with phone calls, and in-person meetings when we could be in town. It was amazing how she thought of simply everything, and stayed so organized. She met with the vendors onsite and walked the ones not familiar with the venue around, sharing tips and what she'd seen in her experiences. She was very patient and helpful when my fiance and I went back and forth on things like the First Look location and our wedding day timeline of events. By the week of the wedding, my family and I had nothing left to think about but enjoying the guests coming into town!
Karen was such a joy to work with, and I highly recommend booking her as fast as possible! She was very professional, warm and welcoming, and truly put our minds at ease, answering every question, and suggesting things that made our wedding day extra special that we never even considered. From the first time you talk to her you can tell that Karen loves what she does and wants to make your wedding simply perfect. I cannot say enough good things about Karen and her team, and we are forever grateful for how wonderful she helped to make our wedding. -

I. Am. Amazed.
We had our wedding at Hammock Dunes Club, and we hired Karen Erwin from St Augustine Weddings and Events as our 30 day wedding planner. Our experience with her provided for a seamless event, although we certainly had some wrenches thrown our way!
First, while we only had her services 30 days out from the wedding, Karen made herself readily available to answer whatever questions we had for her throughout our entire planning process (my fiancé took a very active role in planning and had A LOT of questions). Once we were a month out from the big day, we were sent several Excel documents to fill in that helped make sure all our vendors knew exactly what their responsibilities were, as well as our own to-do lists. My fiancé and I planned the wedding from Baltimore, but my parents are local to FL, so I can imagine it took special effort to make sure EVERYONE was on the same page. All walk-thrus and phone conversations that Karen held with my mom were professionally and efficiently executed and answered many questions that we didn't even realize we had.
While we were already impressed by Karen's attention to detail and responsiveness, it wasn't until the wedding day itself that she really had the opportunity to shine. A last-minute tropical depression caused the airport that our band was flying from to lose power that morning. Karen, my mother, my fiancé, and our fabulous venue coordinator all worked together to make sure the band arranged a rental car for a 10 hour drive, and meanwhile also found a surprisingly amazing last-minute DJ to take over for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner until the band arrived just as the best man gave his speech. Everyone had decided to not make me aware of ANY of this until after our First Look. I'm not sure I could have trusted any other planner to take lead on this issue and make sure my mother and fiancé had very little to worry about.
We also had persistent showers throughout the day, which moved our cocktail hour indoors - but Karen was ready. I recall one moment where my new-husband and I had finished some sunset photos (where Karen had stopped by to make sure we had a plate of appetizers and drinks), and for a brief second we wondered where we were supposed to go next. As if summoned, Karen emerged from around a corner to pull us towards where we were needed. It also helped that she was very familiar with our venue and its coordinator as well; together, the two women are a well-oiled machine.
I really can't say enough good words about Karen as a wedding planner, but I've probably written too much now. I'm so thankful to have had her for the best day of my life. -

Simply Amazing
We hired Karen Erwin of St. Augustine Weddings to be my daughter's wedding planner at Hammock Dunes. Karen's professionalism, attention to detail and wonderful suggestions along the way really helped us get organized those last 30-60 days and provided some special touches that elevated our event including recommending adorable hankies and small parasols for the bride and groom to carry for a traditional New Orleans styled second line procession. The day of our wedding, would have been flawless, except for the fact that the wedding band we hired was stranded in the New Orleans airport without power due to a tropical storm. Although they eventually drove to our wedding, we knew they would not arrive in time for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Karen was able to secure a wonderful DJ who was able to step in on short notice (during one of the busiest wedding months) to assist us up until the band arrived. I don't know what I would have done without her the day of the wedding! Karen's smiles, hugs, can-do attitude, competence and professionalism lifted my spirits throughout the day and even enabled me to enjoy myself for several hours prior to arriving at the venue! Everyone so thoroughly enjoyed themselves; they were oblivious to the glitches that we encountered behind the scenes with the band. My daughter didn't even know until she was about to walk down the aisle! Karen's assistants also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help pull this off so seamlessly. Karen's knowledge of the industry and relationships with the many vendors involved was also a huge asset she brings to the table. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her! She was simply amazing in every way! -

Stress Free Wedding
As the parents of the bride we cannot thank Karen Erwin and her staff enough, for making our daughter's wedding perfect. There were no details too big or small for Karen to handle for the perfect day. As a DIY kinda gal I was not in favor of having a wedding planner, however after the first meeting with Karen I realized how vital she was in making the dream a reality. She was quick to reply to all question & made sure our daughter stayed on task with the many details that needed to be addressed. Karen was even able to add a couple last minute special requests w ease. The days leading up to the wedding & the wedding day were filled with love & happiness that were priceless. -

Dream Planner
I can’t imagine our wedding without St Augustine Wedding and Events. Karen (the owner) handles wedding planning with finesse by combining her funny and kind personality with hard work to get things done. Since Karen and her team only take on so many clients per year, she is able to give you individualized help in planning and executing your day. She also was able to curate an amazing vendor selection, because she has been in the industry for so long. The following are just a couple of ways she exceeded my expectations.
If there is a question to be asked, you can be sure Karen has thought of it. During the week leading up to the wedding, I remember asking her about some concerns about how a vendor was going to be setting up. To my suprise, Karen had already met with the vendor at my venue and put my nerves at ease. Whenever I had a question, Karen either knew the answer or followed up quickly. My hair and make-up ladies raved about her, because she is one of the few planners who confirm with them.
When my wedding day came, everything went perfectly. The morning went off without a hitch, but by the time I was in the bridal suite, I remember seeing rain. Since we were planning on getting married outside, I was just waiting for Karen to come in and tell me we would have to move to plan B. I'll never forget the smile on my face when she walked into the room with a radar on her phone. She said don’t worry it will be done in minutes and we will reset. Thanks to her devotion and quick thinking, I was able to have my dream wedding by the water.
If you are lucky enough to have Karen and her team available for your day, I highly recommend booking her as quickly as possible.

I could never begin to express my thankfulness to Karen. My wedding was the perfect day I have dreamed of ever since I was a little girl, and that is largely in part due to her services. Excellent and organized.
Karen was my wedding planner for my recent wedding on 2-2-2019 and her services were excellent. The wedding was located at the Treasury on the Plaza, which is out of town for us, as we live about 2 hours away. The fear of an overwhelming year and 1/2 of planning never existed with Karen on board. Every appointment, from cake, to flowers, photographer, DJ and all vendors was organized by her. When I arrived to meet these vendors, Karen had already duscusssd our vision and venue appearance prior my arrival. She is always 5 steps ahead. When my husband and I arrived for the food tasting, Karen and the chef discussed our favorite foods and taste and together came up with a menu of our liking to try at the tasting. It was delicious and everything we loved! Later in the planning process, Karen met with our DJ (who was from out of town and never used our venue before) she toured him around the venue so he could see his set up and acoustics. All of which was done on the side and after Karen would let me know about their meeting and how it went. She would go over all music with him and alwasys made sure our DJ, and all vendors, were on the same page. There were many times when she would browse our budget and find areas to save money here and there and when planning a wedding, that is ALWAYS helpful. This wedding planning process was so fun and one of the best times of my life. I never felt overwhelmed and unorganized and that goes to Karen. My mom and I looked forward to our monthly calls while drinking wine, eating pizza and discussing all things wedding. All of my guests are still going on about how well the event flowed and the organization of it. Thank you Karen, for making this experience something to look back on with a giant smile. -

Extraordinary exceeding all expectations
My daughter's wedding was absolutely amazing & perfect nothing was overlooked because of the extraordinary expertise of our wedding planner Karen Irwin. She was a visionary who saw & understood our vision. Communication skill, flexibility & expertise in referring vendors who were all experts & succeeded our expectations. Excellent guidance and
Karen Erwin is a truly amazing wedding planner; her advice and assistance was indispensable in making my daughter's wedding perfect. She was always organized and timely, recommended excellent vendors, (especially the DJ and the cake baker), and ensured all the vendors were clear on our expectations. But most of all, she listened to my daughter and made certain her wedding was exactly what she wanted. For example, the day before the wedding, one vendor decided to add additional charges, my daughter disagreed as a matter of principle, and Karen suggested a way to move forward with a better plan than the original one. (She even got the vendor to refund the cost of the unused service!) Then, the day of the wedding, Karen negotiated the movement of a guest's huge RV that could've ruined several photos, and she did this by finding them an alternative space and bringing them back in her own car! Karen was truly resourceful and creative, and not only did she resolve the very few unexpected problems we encountered, she planned everything down to the minute so the entire event flowed seamlessly. It was a wonderful day and we are eternally grateful to Karen Erwin for making it happen! -

White-glove Wedding Planning
We had a wonderful experience with Karen Erwin and her team at St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events. My fiance and I were planning a wedding in Ponte Vedra Beach while living in Colorado. For vendor selection, contract negotiation, day-of services, and general peace of mind during the wedding planning process, Karen couldn't have been a better fit and help for us.
She accommodated our 2 hour time difference and unpredictable work schedules--always making time for calls when they worked best for us. Karen truly cares about her clients' happiness and comfort during the planning process and on more than one occasion when we were running late, she would push a call to make sure we could take it from home instead of in the car so that we wouldn't be juggling too many things at one time--even if it meant it was super late her time.
Karen also picked wonderful vendors for us and helped keep track of all of our budgeting. And on the day of the wedding, everything went off without a hitch thanks to Karen's attention to detail and her lovely staff. Karen really thinks of all of the personal touches that will make your day special. She also goes to all lengths to find as many options for her clients as possible (she researched rehearsal dinner locations for us, brainstormed memorable send-off ideas, organized special photo ideas for our wedding day...the list goes on). She handles all of the details that you don't anticipate and that you didn't know were involved in a wedding.
You can tell that Karen loves her job and she puts all of that heart into her planning and into her relationships with her clients. We couldn't recommend or thank Karen more! -

Destination Dream Wedding
When I met Karen (via phone, due to long distance planning), I knew we had an instant connection. She immediately made me feel comfortable and confident that we were choosing the right coordinator. I had already booked my major vendors and was really looking for a "day of coordinator." Karen is so devoted to her work that she is not just a day of coordinator, she was there for me for several meetings prior to the big day, including weekly phone calls to review every detail starting a month from our wedding. With those conversations, we reviewed every detail to a T, to the point that Karen knew my exact vision and could implement it without a fault. To say Karen exceeded all of our expectations is an understatement. Her organizational skills are matched by few, that in addition to her kindness and professionalism are qualities needed for successful planning. By the time our wedding day came, I was completely calm knowing that Karen and her team had everything under control. One of my standout memories is awaiting the moment to walk down the aisle, a ball of nerves, I looked at Karen right before she opened the doors and she said "Are you ready?" And with those three simple words, my nerves melted away and I gave her a huge smile and made my way down the aisle with ease! I cannot recommend St. Augustine Weddings and Events enough, absolutely fabulous! Karen will always be a special part of our wedding day!! -

MOH Made Easy
Whenever you're the maid of honor, there is a special responsibility to make sure the bride is has a great day. Karen and her team made that job incredibly easy as they handled every last detail. Karen's team had the answer to every question, anticipated and eliminated potential problems without raising concerns, and were extremely easy to contact and speak to on the wedding day even while preparing the venue. I am so grateful for their hard work. The day was perfect! -

Karen is a remarkable wedding planner/executor! Our daughter and now son-in-law chose her after hearing great reviews and doing an online "interview" from afar. It was a perfect match, and she immediately recommended and secured the "A+" team of vendors. Every single one (photographer, DJ, florist, hair, makeup) was outstanding. Karen and the couple worked together remotely regularly on the wedding day plans, while I (as mother-of-the-bride) managed the pre- and post-wedding functions. As the wedding date approached, Karen and I connected to finish off all the (MANY) final logistics. She is very detail oriented. At one point when I was frazzled by so many last minute (unrelated) stresses, Karen got the message and backed off quietly and managed without stressing me. The wedding was EPIC (as several guests described it) and Karen and her team insured that everything went off without a hitch. A+++ -

The owner and primary coordinator of St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events is Karen Erwin. She is absolutely amazing. The specificity of our wedding planning situation included attending graduate school, having a nine-year-old daughter, and my husband having long and unpredictable work hours. Due to my husband wanting the wedding to occur within six months of proposal and our busy schedule, I required a wedding planner. Karen was the first planner of five to respond within three hours of my initial e-mail. We scheduled our first, free of charge phone consultation for an evening at eight o’clock pm to accommodate our schedules. The initial consult lasted two hours. She patiently answered all our questions and explained all details thoroughly. An important detail that is exclusive to Karen’s services is that she only does one wedding per week there for the week of your wedding, YOU are her MAIN priority. To accommodate our hectic schedules our phone meetings often occurred later in the evening between eight and nine pm which is later than acceptable for most businesses. When picking our vendors, we told her our desires and she e-mailed us three, spot on options to review that matched our wants. All her recommended vendors were fabulous making it difficult to choose but she scheduled meetings and tastings with them to help us choose. She scheduled and accompanied us (per our request) to meetings during two weeks over the six-month planning period that I had school breaks. Our nine-year-old daughter came to one day long tasting where Karen even scheduled time to play at the park. Parking there is a big deal, but her itineraries are so detailed that we never had to worry. EVERY vendor doted on her. The process of planning our wedding and the actual day of our wedding was worry free. We feel truly blessed that Karen placed in our lives to handle our special day. Everything was perfect, a true fairytale, and better than I ever dreamed of! -

Karen was fantastic! I could not have done ANY of it without her. She was on top of it. From the big things to the small details she handled everything smoothly. She went above and beyond what I expected and even went out of her way to ensure my pastor from out of town had a hotel room after a mild snafu from the hotel. Every vendor she recommended was stellar. I had so many guests compliment me on her professionalism. She worked around my busy schedule as a mom to a toddler to help me plan the wedding of my dreams. I cannot say enough about the incredible level of service and assistance Karen at St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events provided us. My wife and I knew instantly after our first phone conversation with Karen that her experience and professionalism was going to take a lot of work and stress off our plate when neither of us had the time needed to devote to details of our wedding. Every single one of Karen’s recommendations and suggestions, from last minute vendor suggestions to protocol, were spot on. She took control of the all the moving parts and her presence the entire day of the event brought relief and calm when there were so many distractions and details that required attention, coordination and fine tuning.
I am very grateful we were introduced to Karen as there is no doubt in my mind that her contributions helped make our wedding day exceed all of our expectations. Thank you!

From our first phone call, I found Karen Erwin to be so organized and so professional. She knew the right questions as well as the right answers for me. Whenever I texted her she would respond quickly when she would be available to talk. She and her staff were willing to do anything to make this the dream wedding for my daughter, and it was! The entire venue had to be changed in the last couple of days and she helped orchestrate this with minimal stress to me. I had a blast at the wedding reception because Karen took care of everything. She went beyond the call of duty when she even had the bride's clothes moved from her room to the honeymoon suite because we ran out of time before the wedding. She kept me calm through this even when we arrived at the church without the wedding rings. No problem. Karen took care of that within minutes. She was a joy with whom to work and I miss her now that the wedding is over. -

From a Father of The Bride's perspective: As a businessperson, a perfect event is one that goes smoothly, with no surprises and accomplishes the objectives professionally and efficiently. I know this is not a business event; it is far more important. My daughter's wedding was perfect, and we owe a large part of that to Karen. Everything went perfectly, every detail large and small was thought of beforehand, and on top of that, Karen arranged for a private meeting with my daughter and me right BEFORE the ceremony- a moment I will never forget, and easily one of the most special moments in my life. Thank you Karen.
As the mother of a bride who is a procrastinator, Karen guided both of us with her outstanding organizational skills, patience & professionalism. Though we booked her for "Day Of" services, Karen was available from the moment she was hired. Her top priority was the bride's complete satisfaction with not only the ceremony & reception, but with the entire planning process. She responded to every question immediately. We had regularly scheduled phone meetings for updates on what had been done & what still needed doing. She reviewed every vendor contract, scheduled meetings with vendors, & walked us through every detail at the reception site. The day of the wedding, she & her staff were on site all day with vendors, & with the bride from the church until the couple left the reception (with a solution to every potential emergency covered). An outstanding wedding/event planner makes the entire affair look effortless & enables the MOB to enjoy the special day. Karen Erwin did just that. My greatest compliment is I had complete confidence in Karen's ability to provide the perfect wedding day, and she did. I highly recommend St. Augustine Weddings and Special Events! -

Initially we were unsure if we needed event planning services, but investing in Karen was such a great decision. She was extremely flexible with meeting times as two working professionals meant mostly 7:30pm calls. We had identified some of our major vendors ourselves, but Karen helped on those that we were stuck on, and we loved each one she recommended.
We thought we were pretty organized and had it under control, but she helped us plan things we hadn't even thought of, like recessional music, order of reception, and all the details they don't mention on the Pinterest checklists. It made the last couple weeks much less stressful knowing we already had a plan and Karen was going to execute.
She helped guide us to planning our day so that it was smooth and everything was perfect. Her team helped fix my dress when the bustle busted and when a strap snapped. She anticipated our needs prior to and on the day of, and we couldn't be happier.
Our big day would not have been as incredible as it was without her support and guidance, we were in great hands! -

St. Augustine Weddings and Special Events turned a potentially challenging destination wedding in St. Augustine into a completely relaxed, beautiful,and memorable event for all attendees, and most importantly, for the bride and groom. Karen Erwin was, and is, what every bride and groom (and mother and father of the bride and groom) hope to get when they hire a wedding planner - professional, knowledgeable, and focused on providing the couple exactly the experience they dream of in a St. Augustine wedding. Karen knows St. Augustine so well and knows how to maximize the charm and romance of the city while negotiating any potential logistical challenges. Karen also does this in a calm, friendly manner that does not intrude on the bride/groom/family's experience. She makes it all happen without being domineering, imposing,or ever-present. From the very first day I spoke with Karen about my wedding, she was 100% dedicated to making our dream wedding happen. She spent over an hour with me on the phone the very first time we spoke - getting to know me, my fiance, and our crazy ideas for a destination wedding in St. Augustine. Each month we had a check-in with her where we reviewed the calendar (which she puts together and updates for you) and checked off tasks together. Karen handled every aspect of our wedding planning with extreme professionalism, efficiency, and most importantly, care. She was our sounding board and our voice of reason. She put us in contact with all of our vendors - and each of them far exceeded our expectations. Even though she wasn't involved in the planning of our rehearsal dinner, she suggested the venue, and it rocked! Karen helped us negotiate, stay on track budget-wise, and communicate with each vendor throughout the planning. I can say with certainty that our wedding would NOT have been what it was without Karen! She went above and beyond for us many times - meeting us on the weekend to see vendors together, following up on questions very quickly, and ensuring every detail was perfect. Our guests and wedding party could not stop complimenting her to me throughout our wedding weekend and I lost track of how many times my mom said "thank goodness for Karen!" Our moms were able to be moms and enjoy the events instead of running around coordinating everything. We absolutely consider Karen a friend now!! -

I cannot say enough great things about our experience working with Karen. Living in Baltimore-having an incredibly well organized planner was imperative for our dream destination wedding in St. Augustine. Karen was that, and so very much more. We chose our venue (The Treasury) and then after a few conversations with several planners we felt confident Karen was going to be the perfect fit for us. She really took the time to learn what we were looking for in our wedding (which I loved) and then cater those wants towards making some incredible recommendations from there. Every single vendor she recommended was truly the best of the best. Karen did a FANTASTIC job of working with our limited availability to make sure we maximized our time by setting up full itineraries for us when we came down for wedding planning. I heard several times from vendors that the only reason we were able to get a particular afternoon weekend appointment was because it was Karen who had requested it (her reputation is outstanding among the local vendors). Her ability to keep track of all the vendors, make suggestions on their contracts, and keep us fully aware of when money was due was beyond appreciated. Trust me-when the wedding was just a few weeks away and all the vendors were ready to be paid, having Karen there to calmly keep track of everything without our heads spinning in circles was a true blessing! The way she communicated throughout our year long planning process was crucial to my bride and I going into our wedding weekend feeling super calm and without a stress in the world. We 100% knew that Karen was on top of everything. The ability to truly just enjoy our special day is something that we cannot put a price on. Coming from an ultra involved Groom, Karen was the perfect planner for both myself and my bride. We owe her so much for helping make our wedding weekend absolutely perfect!-

Having Karen working my wedding was a lifesaver. I honestly would have given up without her help and guidance. First off, she is extremely organized! She has sheets to fill out to arrange every detail of the ceremony and reception. She gives great advice on any question you may have regarding the order of events, traditions, or other details that you don’t even realize until you’re a bride. She is extremely punctual and efficient. For me, her services started about a month before the wedding. She handled communication with all my vendors and coordinated the event timeline to make sure everyone was on the same page. Whenever it looked like there could be a potential problem, she already had a back up plan in motion. She got to know me, as a person, and understand which elements were most important to me. When the weather didn’t look so good, I wasn’t even worried because I knew she would have everything under control. The day of the wedding I literally didn’t have to lift a finger, everything was already planned and discussed in advance. Everything was displayed and decorated exactly the way I wanted it to be. Her excellent service allowed me to focus on enjoying the moments with my husband, friends, and family. She even treated my family so well, everyone was impressed with her work. Her assistants were also amazing! They went above and beyond to make the day everything I wanted. Overall my wedding was everything I dreamed of and more, it was executed perfectly, thanks to Karen and her team. -

My husband and I married June 2017. We had the honor of working with Karen and St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events for our reception at Hammock Dunes Club. Our wedding day went smoothly, beautifully, and was stress-free thanks to Karen and her team. Two things that set them apart from others: impeccable communication and precise attention to detail. Karen always made us feel like our wedding was the most important. She was always easily accessible via email, text, or phone call and always promptly responded. She handled communication that we did not think about, like confirming all our vendor details two weeks before the wedding. She distributed and explained the timeline to our DJ and photographer so everyone was on the same page. She even made sure she had a communication plan with key family members who had roles in the wedding so that if an issue arose, she did not have to come to us with the issue. Karen ensured that no detail was left unaccounted. She addressed details that I didn’t want to have to worry about and details I didn’t even think about…from detailed table lists to gate lists to vendor meals to the arrangement of every table and room decoration. It was a priority to us to keep our reception flowing and Karen helped create timelines and combed over details multiple times so there was no ambiguity as to our wants. The day of, my husband and I did not have to worry about where to be or when to transition from one event to another because Karen and her team were on top of it all. From greeting us at the door with our signature drink to discreetly asking us if we needed anything throughout the course of our night to assisting with scooting along guests lingering around the sweetheart table too long while we were trying to eat dinner, Karen and her team were in tune with every detail to make it the perfect day. They were the epitome of detail-oriented, thorough, warm, and professional wedding planners and coordinators. -

My personal experience with Karen lasted over a year. I was planning our wedding from a distance and needed someone not only that I could rely on for advice, but someone that I could trust.
Karen exceeded my expectations on trust and execution. She personally took the time to get to know not only me but my family. One thing that still brings tears to my eyes is how well she treated my parents – I expressed to Karen early on that I wanted my parents treated as guests of honor even though they were technically the hosts of the wedding. Karen listened and went as far as helping me choose where they sat and serving my dad his favorite drink. My wedding was a magical day full of ease and excitement because Karen took the time to listen, and make it happen.
Karen also did a fantastic job of explaining the WHY behind our decisions. Karen has been in the industry for 10+ years, so, having her as a trusted source and sounding board for decisions was invaluable. An example of explaining the WHY is when she helped me choose a floral and décor vendor that had a showroom. I expressed to Karen I was having trouble visualizing and expressing exactly the look I wanted for the décor, so, she found a florist for me that had a showroom that we could go visit and mock up designs. That day turned out to be so much fun for my mom and me, and a memory from the wedding planning process that I will cherish forever.
I leave my wedding day knowing that I made every right choice – from selection of vendors down to the smallest detail of linen color or first look location – Karen guided me through it all flawlessly. She knows St. Augustine inside and out and her exceptional reputation exceeds her. I cannot say enough times that Karen is truly in the right profession and any bride lucky enough to have her as a planner is in the very best hands. I feel honored to have had such a trusted resource and now friend for the happiest day of my life. -

Karen walked our daughter through every detail of her wedding. From the very beginning when the big day was no more than a dream and few pintrist pics till the last sparkler was lite and the bride and groom were on their way, she made sure everything ran smoothly. She found creative ways to make their dreams a reality within their budget. On the big day, her and her team were there, pulling all the details together in a way that was unobtrusive, but supportive so that we could sit back and enjoy every moment. Karen did an outstanding job in helping me with my wedding! She was friendly, courteous and handled all of the necessary details so I could enjoy my wedding weekend. One thing that very helpful was that she prepared a detailed itinerary for everyone involved in the wedding so everyone knew where to be and when. It made the weekend so much easier, all of bridesmaids knew exactly when they were getting their hair and makeup done, when and where to be when pictures and began and so much more! Karen worked so well with the hotel and other vendors as well as being present throughout the day to make sure everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend her services :) -

Karen did an outstanding job from beginning to end. While we weren't certain if the services of a planner would be needed, in hindsight, the answer was clearly yes, and this was certainly the company to use. She was incredibly well organized, detail oriented, and her years of experience resulted in a magnificent event. Her expertise with vendors also helped us save some money. Finally, the event was so much nicer as she handled all of the details so the family could enjoy this special occasion.

If I could rate Karen more, I would. We clicked from the first day we met. We booked Karen for our "day of coordinator" for our wedding at Hammock Dunes Club and that was the best decision we made. She was quick to respond whenever I had a question and she would meet anywhere I asked her to discuss details of the wedding. For a "day of coordinator" she went above and beyond and really took the stress out of planning a wedding, and took the stress out of the day of. I never could have imagined all the little details that goes into a planning a wedding, and she broke things down so simply so I didn't get overwhelmed. I did not have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding. She took care of talking with all of the vendors, helped decorate the venue with all of our provided decorations and centerpieces, she kept us on track with time. Things really would have been a mess if we didn't have Karen, and I would recommend her for any special event. -

Karen exceeded my expectations throughout the planning process. Her experience was highly beneficial. She knew most of my vendors personally and was always able to reach them when I could not. She made extremely useful suggestions when planning the reception timeline which made everything run smoothly. She also proved to be very flexible due to unexpected circumstances. For example, a hurricane hit northeast Florida the week before my wedding and she not only communicated with me throughout the whole ordeal, but she was also communicating with my vendors to come up with alternative solutions to the issues caused by the hurricane. On my wedding day itself, she was quick on her feet to make changes due to unexpected circumstances, such as strong winds and my husband being ill. She kept everything running smoothly and tweaked things here and there in a discrete manner. My guests never knew about the small changes throughout the evening. Overall, it was a wonderful experience working with Karen. She is truly an expert and such a sweet woman to work with. She treats each client as if they are her only client and will go above and beyond to make sure the bride and groom have the best wedding day possible. Thank you for everything, Karen! -

Karen is amazing when it comes to every facet of planning and executing 'day of' for any event!! She helped us with planning my daughter's wedding, navigating relational issues from early planning to ceremony how to's when you have blended family involved!!! She is very knowledgeable about vendors in our area, knows their pricing, and also who is easy to work with. Any venue in town loves working with Karen! She asked us about things we would have ever considered, and had lots of creative ideas(like renting trolleys for transportation). Day of, she had everything covered, and took care of any last minutes things that came up. I just relaxed and enjoyed the day, as did our bride. At the end of the day, when we asked her, our daughter said the day was perfect, it was better than she had imagined it would be!!! Thank you Karen, for making this day so special!! Karen with St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events is the reason my wedding day was the best day of my life! She took all the stress out of our day for my family and me by contacting vendors to confirm arrival times, setting up decorations we provided including the centerpieces, keeping the event and my guests moving smoothly, and handled things I didn’t even know of. Not only did she make my wedding day perfect, but also all of her help prior to the wedding were beyond what we could have imagined. About a month and half before my wedding I decided I wasn’t happy with the people doing my hair and makeup. I mentioned this to Karen in one of my phone conferences with her. Within 2 hours she had called around and found a salon that was still available to do hair & makeup for me and my entire wedding party.! She didn’t just give me some numbers so I could call around myself she actually went the extra mile. She was also my savior on the day of our rehearsal. 5 hours prior to our rehearsal start time, one of my pregnant bridesmaids fainted and had to be taken to the hospital. As I sat in the ER room with her, another bridesmaid and my mom knew we wouldn’t make it to rehearsal on time. With one phone call to Karen (3 hours before it was to begin) she contacted the venue, my pastor, and everyone else involved and organized the rehearsal to be at a later time. She completely took all the stress and worry from my mom and I so we could focus on my bridesmaid’s health. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and organization surpassed all expectations. I honestly do not know how anyone could have a wedding without Karen! -

Karen Erwin is absolutely the best wedding planner in St. Augustine! My daughter lives in Texas and wanted her wedding at home in St. Augustine. From the moment I spoke with her, I knew Karen was who we needed to coordinate, help plan, organize, and create the wedding of my daughter's dreams. We chose her Custom Wedding Coordination Package despite me being fairly crafty and creative. It was by far the best decision and the best money we spent on the wedding! Karen spent endless hours talking to my daughter and getting a true feel for what she wanted. Karen made fantastic recommendations on vendors, accommodations, etiquette, and specialty items that fit into our budget. She was able to negotiate contracts that enabled us to receive much more than we could have alone. We also used her resourcefulness with our save the dates, invitations and rehearsal dinner invites. Karen is the epitome of organization and insight and through the many phone calls and meetings, we always had a specific agenda to keep us on track and moving toward the big day. Karen went with us in meeting our vendors and knew the questions to ask that I had not thought of. She also set up hair and makeup trials and the entire wedding party looked amazing! With all the different components of a wedding, Karen covered them all so incredibly well. I kept hearing how stressful it is to plan a wedding, but I can honestly say, with Karen's help..it was a piece of cake. We just kept to her planning and expertise and my daughter's day was truly stunning. One of the most valuable things I gained from hiring Karen Erwin was gaining a friend. I truly enjoyed spending time with her and can't wait to just meet for lunch when she has time. So if you think you can handle planning a wedding on your own like I initially did, please think again and use Karen Erwin and St. Augustine Weddings. Karen Erwin of St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events is AMAZING! She provided much more than full service wedding planning for us. She truly went above and beyond on a consistent basis during the months leading up to our wedding. My wife has health issues that make following rigid schedules and appointments challenging at times. Karen was extremely thoughtful and considerate of this, and planned our schedule in a way that would cause the least amount of physical and emotional stress as possible. She is meticulous, focused, and professional, which allowed us to not get bogged down with the minutiae of the wedding planning. Overall, this made something potentially stressful and overwhelming fun and enjoyable. Karen also employs several assistants who were just as professional and mindful as she is. The entire team is top notch.
Karen was a joy to work with, and we all became genuine friends throughout the process. She did a wonderful job of keeping a balance between being pleasant and amicable, but also displayed a willingness to "push" us along as needed to stay on track. My wife and I have a tendency to procrastinate, but Karen never let us veer off course
Our wedding had many challenging elements to plan for, but Karen was able to put it all together seamlessly, exactly the way we envisioned. We had a New Orleans inspired wedding, with a 2nd line march from the church to the reception. The weather reports leading up to our special day were less than favorable. Karen did a marvelous job of providing us with a backup plan if we were unable to pull off our 2nd line march due to rain. Fortunately, fate was on our side and the sun shined for us, but she had us covered for all possibilities. This relieved all the stess of the situation and really allowed us to just enjoy the day. This was such an invaluable service. Needless to say, I would highly recommend St. Augustine Weddings & Special Events to anyone in need of wedding planning services!

Karen Erwin and her team were absolutely the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. From the moment we first spoke on the phone it was clear that Karen has had plenty of experience in wedding planning and event planning in North Florida. Everyone asks me how it was possible to have so much fun planning a wedding and my answer every time is: Karen Erwin.
The wedding schedule was absolutely perfect. She had every detail included on the timeline so that everything ran smoothly. As a bride who gets easily stressed, I found that the entire wedding weekend ran smoothly because of how the schedule was planned out. All we had to do was show up. And that is absolutely priceless, especially for my parents who were able to just enjoy the day without having to worry about details.
Detail oriented is probably one of Karen's stand out qualities. She takes note of every detail and thought from her bride and parents. We would be having a conversation a month before the wedding and she would reference something that I mentioned wanting in our conversation from a year before.
Karen and her team are a MUST HAVE for every bride and family planning a wedding. She helped us stay in budget and ultimately ended up saving us a lot of money. Planning a wedding out of town can be very tricky for some, but Karen was able to help us select vendors, travel plans, and accommodations that made all the decision making very easy on our end.
I cannot say enough good things about how amazing the actual wedding day was. I never felt rushed. I was able to soak in all of the festivities because I knew Karen would have everything handled. She brought our vision to life. Karen was there for us every step of the way. She was so easy to get in touch with throughout all of the planning. Very responsive to texts, emails, and phone calls.

Our daughter's wedding was at the same time as the 450th anniversary of St. Augustine, making the logistics extremely complicated. At our first meeting with Karen, she made it very clear that our event would be wonderful and she embraced the difficult challenges with a smile. The bride was in New York and traveled so was often unavailable and was the opposite of a Bridezilla. Karen did a magnificent job of keeping her on track, also making her aware of future decisions without causing our daughter, Lauren, undue stress. Karen was enthusiastic about some of Lauren's unorthodox ideas and was able to direct her to vendors who could implement Lauren's vision. Karen had to meet with the St. Augustine City Police, Sheriff's office, major event planners and several others to coordinate traffic patterns, parking, etc. as this was also Labor Day and the busiest day in St. Augustine's history. Karen kept in constant contact with us to keep us informed and to assure us we had nothing to worry about, The day of the wedding we were able to relax and enjoy because Karen and her efficient staff had everything under control. One of Karen's greatest gifts is to quickly assess the bride and her family to bring to fruition their thoughts and ideas. Lauren's tearful comment was "my wedding was more than she could have ever hoped for." We credit Karen for making all this possible and helping to create beautiful lifetime memories. -
