We had an excellent experience with Wendy and her stylists Emily and Jinay. My trial with Wendy and Jinay was super comfortable and they gave me confidence in my choices. I'm not someone who does my hair and makeup so I was nervous going into the trial, but they made me feel at ease and confident with my hair and makeup. On the wedding day, Wendy, Jinay and Emily were friendly, professional, and easy to work with. They did a great job with my bridal party which included several bridesmaids, my mom, and my 3 yo niece. Everyone (even the little one) felt comfortable and happy with the hair and makeup process! I felt happy throughout the whole wedding day and reception with my hair and makeup. I would wholeheartedly recommend Wendy and her team to anyone getting married! -

I cannot recommend Wendy and Marlenne enough for wedding hair and makeup! From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, organized, and such a calming presence on the wedding day. Every single look they created for the bridal party was absolutely stunning and tailored perfectly to each person.
As a bride with naturally curly hair, finding someone who could truly work with my curls instead of against them was so important to me — and Wendy exceeded every expectation. She enhanced my natural texture beautifully, and my hair looked elegant, soft, and completely me. It held up perfectly throughout the entire day while still feeling natural and comfortable.

I picked Absolute Beauty by Wendy to do my makeup on my wedding day, and I am so glad I did! Wendy is kind, professional, and helps everyone feel comfortable while getting their makeup done. I was a little worried trying to find a makeup artist because I typically only wear mascara on a day-to-day basis and I wasn't sure how wedding makeup would look or feel. Wendy worked with me through the whole process of determining a makeup look that made me feel confident and beautiful. After my original makeup trial, I ended up wanting to change a few things, and Wendy recommended a second trial, which went really well. Wendy and her team are receptive to feedback and work with you to come to a look that you love- which I found to be critical as someone who does not wear a ton of makeup on a day-to-day basis. I was confident leading into the wedding day and excited to see everyone get their makeup done. On the actual day, Wendy and her team did a fantastic job- keeping on time, listening to each bridesmaid, and ultimately doing 12 people's makeup. It was a great day, and I definitely recommend Absolute Beauty by Wendy! -

As someone who wanted to be reasonable with money and usually sticks to a very natural look, I honestly struggled with whether to hire anyone to do my hair and makeup. But I’m so glad I decided to work with Absolute Beauty by Wendy. I loved the experience from start to finish.
Diana did my hair and makeup, and the final look was exactly what I had hoped for, enhancing my natural features for a stunning bridal style while still feeling like myself. I do my own makeup regularly (a very minimal, no-makeup look), but I never could have achieved what Diana did, and it would have been so much more stressful. Instead, I got to relax and enjoy the morning with my bridesmaids and family.
During the trial, Wendy and Diana let me compare what I’d look like with and without false eyelashes, and encouraged me to go about the rest of my evening to see how everything felt. As someone who rarely wears much makeup, that was incredibly helpful. I ended up choosing the lashes for my big day, and I’m so glad I did!
Wendy and Diana were also wonderfully flexible, fitting me in for a trial during the one week I was in the area before the wedding, and adding an extra service for my mom just two weeks before the big day. -

After a bad makeup trail, I was on the hunt to find the right person for wedding day hair and makeup. I found Absolute beauty on The Knot and noticed they had amazing reviews. I contacted them and spoke with Wendy. I Immediately knew she was a professional and knew what she was talking about. I booked a trial for hair and makeup and met Wendy back in April. My trial went so well and Wendy did an amazing job. I ended up booking her for my wedding and so glad I did. My makeup and hair were perfect! She and one of her staff members did the bridal party’s hair and some of their makeup. Everyone looked amazing. Wendy is truly a talented professional and is very kind. Thank you, Wendy! -

I can’t thank Wendy enough for making me and my bridesmaids feel so beautiful and comfortable on my wedding day. I did the hair and makeup trial and felt lovely. On the day of the wedding, I made some changes to which she was so accommodating and made me look even more beautiful than I thought I would! My straight hair does not hold curls but these curls stayed all day and night! She was punctual, so kind and an absolute pleasure to work with. I am not always the most confident in my appearance/image. I have very curly hair, and don’t typically wear more than eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis. I wanted to feel special on my wedding day, but still “look like me.” At my hair and make up trial, Wendy helped me choose which of the 3 hair clips I was considering would be best for my wedding day. She listened to every request I made, and was so attentive and patient with me. We even had to postpone our original wedding date due to the death of an immediate family member, and she was so understanding and compassionate. She worked with me as I rescheduled/had to find a new wedding date, and I am so grateful. To top it all off, she is a magician! The week before the wedding, I had gotten my face waxed (elsewhere) and had developed a bit of a rash that still lingered until the day of the wedding. I sent her pictures beforehand so she knew what we were up against, and she made a few skin care suggestions that would help me heal as much as I could before the wedding day. I was so worried about my rash, but Wendy was incredible! You couldn’t even tell the day of that my face was red. After the wedding, she gave me tips to remove my makeup and continue to care for my skin. She is an absolute lifesaver. Extremely talented stylist, even more incredible human being, and so knowledgeable. When people said I looked beautiful on my wedding day, I truly felt it and believed them - that was all thanks to Wendy. -

Amazing service!
Wendy did an amazing job with my wedding hair! The trial ran smoothly and left me excited for my big day. On the day of the wedding, we were right on schedule even with 4 women getting their hair done. She was quick but never rushed or sloppy. Everyone loved how their hair turned out and she makes her salon a very welcoming environment. I received so many compliments on my hair, and her expertise added to the perfect accessory placement. Wendy and her team were excellent. I did a hair and makeup trial with Wendy before my engagement shoot, and I could tell she was very skilled at working with curly hair (a must for me). I even went back to her just for a haircut, and was not disappointed! My curls never looked better. On my wedding day, Wendy and her team were prompt, professional, and flexible - even with an early start time of 7:30am. The AirBnb I rented had some outlets that weren't working, but Wendy wasted no time in finding a solution, moving me into the kitchen to get started on my hair. She and her team listened to my bridal party's ideas for their hair and makeup, and executed wonderfully. They kept us on track with time, and even finished a half hour early - no small feat for an 11-person group! I absolutely loved my hair and makeup; Wendy nailed the look I was going for, even though I ended up going with a different hairstyle than what we'd originally planned. I got compliments on my hair all night. Cannot recommend Wendy and her team highly enough, especially if you have a larger bridal party with many different hair textures/styles! They were a pleasure to work with, and I'll be going back to Wendy for future haircuts :) -

Wendy was extremely professional, patient, kind and super talented. Wendy’s team was incredibly kind and professional. Starting with my trial, they were extremely flexible and listened to what I wanted and I still felt like myself. They made the early trek to our venue and they were extremely punctual. They managed to get my girls, moms, and myself ready in time and were flexible as some girls took longer than anticipated (they had a lot of hair). My hair stayed the entire day and night and my makeup looked so beautiful while still looking like myself. Wendy and her team were awesome! They were so patient and kind during both the trial and day-of. During the day-of both Jackie (hair stylist) and Nadia (make-up artist) made sure to double and triple check that I was happy with every aspect and that I felt beautiful. They also gave this amount of attention to my mom who was feeling insecure, they helped adjust and readjust her hair. They were a source of calm support on my wedding day! Amazing makeup and hair from lovely stylist
Working with Wendy and her team was an absolute pleasure! I would recommend them to any bride and her bridal party. Wendy did my hair and makeup (the bride) and I had seven bridesmaids plus the mother of the bride who also had hair and/or makeup done. Everyone looked flawless (we all went with the airbrush makeup which was more than worth it). Wendy and I had a good pre-wedding trial and the tweaks we decided for my hair after the trial worked perfectly the day of the wedding. Wendy is a genuinely kind person on top of being an top-notch professional. 10/10 experience. -

We had Wendy’s team do my bridal makeup, bridesmaids, and both my mother and mother of the groom. They listened to each person’s specific needs and what they wanted for hair and makeup. Not only were they professional and kind- but they absolutely knocked it out of the park. We looked INCREDIBLE. If you are at all worried if this is right for you, I suggest doing a hair and makeup trial first. Doing a trial completely took away any fears that I had made the right choice. -

Wendy is amazing
I hired Wendy just over a month before our postponed wedding reception, since our previous HMUA person dropped out. She was quick, responsive, did an excellent trial, was super laid back and kind. She looked at my pictures of what I wanted for hair and makeup and made it happen. She took feedback on any changes I wanted on the day of, without any judgement or anything. And she did an incredible job!!! I felt like a princess! What this woman can do with hair my gosh. And she somehow kept my want of natural looking makeup while still doing full makeup. She also did hair and makeup for my mom, who loved how glamorous she looked! -

Wendy and her staff (Emely was my stylist for the wedding day) were great. They were very accommodating with booking both the trial and the day of. Emely in particular was great and she was very receptive to changes I wanted to make to my makeup after seeing the trial. They were definitely one of the more budget-friendly options in the DC area, and I think it was a great value! If I was having my second wedding in DC, I would definitely use again! -

First off - Wendy worked with me through postponing my wedding due to COVID, and we still ended up having to get married in a small family-only ceremony because we were still in full pandemic 8 months later. Wendy handled the reschedule plus doing my trial and day-of during COVID with grace and professionalism.
Pandemic aside, I was a little nervous for my wedding hair and makeup - I don't wear a lot of makeup but wanted to go for it for my wedding. So glad I did! Wendy made me feel comfortable and gave me options along the way to make sure she did what worked for me. Day-of, all of the wedding party were happy with their hair - from my 15 y/o niece to the mother of the groom. And I had so many comments on my make-up and hair. Wendy was a pleasure to work with! -

I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding hair and make up experience! After my trial, Wendy highlighted and cut my hair a few times before my wedding. They did my large bridal party’s hair and make up in a timely fashion while still paying attention to detail. When my wedding was rescheduled, (a few times due to COVID restrictions) Wendy was extremely flexible and understanding. Her team followed all necessary safety protocols, making my bridesmaids feel comfortable. I am so lucky that I found Wendy and will continue to use her for my hair and make up in the future! I highly recommend her for all of your bridal beauty needs! -

I was a little nervous since I opted out of a hair trial; I was simply going off her website and the good reviews on weddingwire . My hair as well as my bridesmaids hair looked absolutely phenomenal. I got so many compliments and continue to get them on my pictures. I felt like a princess!
Wendy was responsive, prompt, brought everything she needed to do the job, and everyone was very very pleased with her work. It also helped that we sent her pictures in advance so there weren't any delays or confusion on the day of the wedding.

Wendy and her team did an AMAZING job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. Despite that we got married in the middle of a pandemic, Wendy and Emily still provided us with their services using protective equipment as they wore face masks, eye glasses, and face shields. Wendy was so patient, kind, and really listened to what I had envisioned for my wedding day. Wendy is amazing
Wendy did my bridal hair and makeup. She is so professional and very efficient. We did a trial run a few weeks before the wedding so that on the wedding day we knew exactly what I wanted. She was also able to accommodate my bridesmaids and MOB with what they wanted. I loved that she made me feel so beautiful on my special day, she really knows what she’s doing. My makeup lasted all day and my hair held up the whole night. Wendy is absolutely the best at what she does! -

Beautiful hair styles lasted all day and night!
This is a review of Wendy’s hair styling services, I did not use her as a makeup artist.
Wendy did a fantastic job on our hair and I have already recommended her services to a friend in the area. Wendy styled my hair as well as 3 bridesmaids for my morning wedding. She arrived on time even though it was an early start, was prepared, and worked within our schedule which I really appreciated. When things got a bit chaotic before we left for the venue, Wendy was very calm and worked well under pressure.
Wendy was very helpful in choosing a style for my hair and for my bridesmaids when we weren’t totally sure what we wanted. I showed her several photos at my hair trial and she was able to combine them into something I really loved. She listened to my feedback and on the day of the wedding, the updo was exactly what I had imagined. When our florist/family friend surprised us with a set of flowers for me and each of my bridesmaids and, even though we had not previously discussed it, Wendy was happy to incorporate them into all of the styles with no problems. Also, Wendy’s services are affordable compared to many other hairstylists I consulted in the area.
I was concerned about our hair styles lasting in the heat, but they looked fantastic all day and into the evening. I had many of our photos taken after the reception hours later, and every hair is still in place in the pictures. I even left my hairstyle in place for the after party and I had not expected it to last until then! Our hair was finished by 10 AM and when I took it out at 2 AM that night it still looked good even though I was sweating and dancing all day and night. I really enjoyed working with Wendy and I definitely recommend her hair styling services!
