Ashley and Bethany are absolute rockstars. They helped me from the very beginning by sending vendor recommendations, organizing timelines, and so much more. Their attention to detail is insane and their professionalism is unmatched. Our wedding was originally supposed to take place outside at Jennette's Pier but the weather had other plans. The swiftly transitioned everyone and everything from outside on the pier to upstairs in the ballroom and everything went off without a hitch! They are the absolute best on the OBX and I would hire them again 10 times over. We love you guys! -

I cannot recommend Ashley and Bethany! The planning and guidance they provided leading up to and during the wedding day are so appreciated. I can honestly say I did not have a worry the entire day because they made all the things happen flawlessly! Even with all the decor coordinated, I could not have imagined a more beautiful set up!
Needless to say, Ashley and Bethany certainly exceeded our hopes! We could not thank them enough for their planning, attention to detail, professionalism, and most important to us- their friendly and engaging energy!

Ashley was hired as my wedding coordinator and she went above and beyond in making my day special. I am a control freak and like everything to be my way, but she made be feel at ease, I was okay with leaving things in her hands the day of my wedding and she did a fabulous job. Any bride would be grateful to have her on their side on their wedding day. Thank you so much Ashley for everything, you were awesome! -

Ashley is seriously one of a kind. I am so grateful for her passion, knowledge, eye for detail, patience and friendship. We started planning our wedding with her a little over a year before the wedding and Ashley was incredibly responsive with all of my questions - and there were a lot. She made me feel important even thought I knew she had so many weddings coming up before mine. OBX has always had a really special place in our hearts so it was the perfect place to have our wedding. I was initially stressed at the thought of planning a wedding across the country from Colorado, but Ashley made it so much easier and honestly fun. She is incredibly creative and helped with design as it was not my forte. She brought my vision to life, made sure my rentals were correct, gave incredible vendor recommendations, set up everything perfectly, and was honestly just so much fun to work with. Her organization and communication, timelines, questionnaires, etc. were so helpful in the planning process and her execution day of was flawless. She is such a boss babe! Every vendor that asked who my planner was would respond "oh you're in amazing hands she's the best" every time I mentioned Ashley. Thank you Ashley - I couldn't have had such a beautiful stress free wedding without you.

Would not be able to function without Ashley!
Oh my gosh were do I even begin?! We hired Ashley a year and a half before our wedding, our date had to be pushed due to covid, and THEN we lost our venue 2 weeks prior to the wedding due to covid. ( It was right in the middle of NC numbers peaking). We originally had a 200 guest count and ended up with 39. People were dropping daily, even the week of the wedding still, and Ashely never complained once! She contacted all the vendors for us with updated guest counts so we didn't have to. She stayed so positive and professional through it all! I highly recommend getting her all inclusive package even if you don't think you need it. My parents have had a home in OBX since the 80s, and I went to school for Hospitality so we thought we knew it all but Ashley is a wizard! When things started to get crazy with covid a few weeks prior to the wedding she kept everything so perfectly in order. If you're out of town it's so crucial to hire a planner! She kept the wedding on schedule without us feeling rushed. I felt so relaxed and was able to enjoy our wedding so much thanks to her. Everyone raved about her at the wedding! I am sad we are not working together anymore now that the wedding is over but we had such an amazing experience working with her! -

Southern Hospitality is just that!
Ashley was absolutely fantastic! We were late to the day of coordinator game, but with a recommendation from our baker, we decided to go with it! Thankfully she was available for the date of our wedding. She worked with me on the things that I was looking for assistance with and took so much stress away from the big day. On top of that, she was so so sweet. My cake stand was unstable and she came in with the save with one of her own! The team is also so great as well, I corresponded with another person from SH about other vendors. It was 100% the best decision to hire her. -

Star Wedding Coordinators!
Ashley and Bethany are true stars at what they do! They worked with me as day of coordinators but they truly helped with so much leading up to the day. I am so thankful for their guidance, communication, ideas, support and knowledge. They made sure everything was in place, on time, looked amazing, and ran smoothly. Having them was a true joy!!

Every time I got on a phone call with Bethany she was truly my calm. She took so much of the stress off of me and reminded me that she had everything was under control. I could call her whenever and she was there to talk anything over. I had some communication issues with one of my vendors and she took full control, even went directly up to their office for me since I’m out of town. Well worth the money!!! -

Couldn’t have done it without her!
Let me just say, if you’re on the fence about having at least a day of coordinator, I’d highly recommend dismounting that fence on the side of Southern Hospitality!
Ashley is such a gift! She was the very first wedding vendor I booked & I’m so glad she was part of our team (& now family because she’s the best). From general advice, to vendor recommendations to talking through logistics, she was thorough, informed and well versed with the local vendors in the OBX (& beyond). While the day of had been planned meticulously, we were dealt a hand of cards outside our control and got married in the middle of Hurricane Ian. A few days before the wedding, Ashley called to let me know the tent vendor wouldn’t be able to set up due to the gale force winds in the forecast. This was my sign to totally relinquish control to my vendor team with Ashley as the lead with my utmost trust and confidence. I can say wholeheartedly, it paid off tenfold.
She works with a sense of urgency while remaining calm & collected which made me feel calm despite the +40mph winds🙃 You’d never know that there was ever a different plan A from how everything turned out! I’m also very aware that I probably have no idea just how many things she fixed, saved, made a gut decision on etc and for that I am forever thankful!! -

Where do I even start with Ashley? She quite literally is the best on the island, and our day was sparkling and flawless because of her! She’s incredibly detail oriented, is so kind, and asks all of the right questions to get you dialed in to the vision of your perfect day. Ashley was our first hire for our wedding, and having her full service package was the best decision we made. She’s kind and fun and funny and you’ll have the best experience with her by your side. We are so thankful for Ashley and will always sing her praises and recommend her highly! -

She has an excellent attention to detail, and you can tell she has her heart in what she does, she is so genuine and will do absolutely everything in her power to make your day special. When Ashley was out of office, Bethany was on top of responding to my questions and getting everything to me in a timely manner. I could not recommend them more! I am so so happy I chose to go with Southern Hospitality for full service planning!! The day went so smoothly and everything was absolutely perfect. -

There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how amazing Ashley and her team at Southern Hospitality Weddings & Events are! I knew from the very beginning I wanted to hire someone to coordinate our wedding day. I wanted to ensure that neither myself, my husband, or our families had to worry about anything on the day of and let me tell you, Ashley knocked that out of the park! She does everything from full wedding planning to day of coordination and I would have trusted her with absolutely everything! Even though we only had day of coordination, she made sure to stay in touch throughout the entire wedding process. She gave recommendations for vendors and guided us whenever we had questions. A few weeks before the wedding she really narrowed in on our day and did all of the last minute organizing, vendor communications, timelines, etc. She thought of everything! On the day of, I didn't have a care in the world. Ashley's services gave me the best gift of being able to fully enjoy that day and not worry about anything else. We also planned our wedding from out of state and through Covid and she was an incredible help through it all. Several times we had to alter our plans because of reopening guidelines and each time she made us feel relaxed and comfortable with all the changes. Even on the day of the wedding when we moved our ceremony time last minute to escape some unfortunate storms, she was a rockstar and made it happen! Ashley was professional and fun to work with and someone you just genuinely want a part of your wedding day! My husband and I truly cannot recommend her and her team more!! -

I have been trying hard to find the words to explain just how much Ashley meant to us throughout the wedding planning process…But, to put it in a phrase, she is a miracle worker! I already miss talking to her! Her fun, warm-hearted, and straightforward personality put us at ease from the moment we met her. She’s incredibly talented and imaginative, and used her immense creativity to identify who we are as a couple and create a wedding that authentically reflected our personalities. Whenever I got overwhelmed or stressed, Ashley let me lean on her completely to help navigate decisions. She kept our vision and personalities front and center, and when I got lost in Pinterest boards or decision-making, she had an effortless way of bringing us back to what really mattered. On the wedding day itself, she ensured that everything went smoothly. She is an agile problem-solver, and I will never forget the sheer relief that I felt knowing Ashley and Bethany were there to handle the details, the timeline, and all of the last-minute questions. We were able to fully relax and enjoy every moment. I will also never forget jumping for joy when Ashley showed me pictures of our wedding reception for the first time. She used all of her creative potential to bring our dreams to life – it was everything and more! Ashley, we LOVE YOU! Thank you for being our fearless leader, for holding our hands throughout every step of the process, and for creating a wedding that felt so much like US! -

I am trying to write this review without getting emotional. Ashley is truly the best. She is one of a kind. She is the hardest worker, the most understanding supporter, and just gets it done. I knew I wanted to get married in the Outer Banks but living 5 hours away, I needed someone who understood me, saw my vision, and was all around an amazing person to get along with. I found that in Ashley. She knew how to calm me down when panic arose, she knew how to explain budgets and pricing to someone who doesn't understand that language, and she knew how to find the best vendors to put on the best weekends of our lives. Ashley not only works hard to make your vision come to life but she helps guide you in making the best decision for you as a couple. We met multiple times over our 1.5 year engagement and every time Ashley had new ideas and more things crossed off our checklists. I am a very detail-oriented person and Ashley saw that. She knew that if I wanted to make a craft as much as I wanted to help me de-stress, she encouraged me to do it. If she knew I was overwhelmed she would encourage me to drop things and put things on others' to-do lists. We decided to host a series of 3 events, including the wedding, and Ashley helped make all of those events happen. If you are getting married in the Outer Banks, I cannot recommend Ashley enough. She is what you are looking for. She made this stressful and overwhelming experience a calm and fun one. Our wedding was perfect and I give all my thanks to Ashley. She may have started by planning our wedding but the friendship that formed out of it was the best part. -

Ashley was an absolutely amazing wedding planner and coordinator. I am not kidding when I say I couldn't have done it without her. She made the entire planning process so seamless and stress free. And on the actual wedding day she made sure everything went on time and was perfect. She made sure it was the best night of our lives.
