Sheraton Sand Key Resort Reviews

Our experience with the Sheraton Sand Key Resort was great! I appreciated how they charge per guest's age, not just one flat fee for all ages. Alexa was so responsive and helpful from the beginning of the booking process until the end of the reception! She was there everystep of the way and even drove me, my dad and brother around on the beach as we waited to walk down the aisle! We did not want to get married on the beach but they have a great grass area by the pool that met our needs. If you want better than normal wedding food, then this is the place for you! All of our wedding guests have mentioned how amazing the food was. We had appetizers (lamb pops were a huge hit) during cocktail hour and the chef's buffet. The chef was extremely accommodating to our requests too. Alexa also drove us and our photographer and videographer down to the beach to get some amazing pictures at sunset! Added bonus with our wedding package we received a wedding coordinator (Blue Skies Weddings & Events) the month before he wedding. I didnt realize how important this was for us, but having Chris help us finalize and coordinate everything was a God send! This resort really knows how to pull off a great event!

We decided out of quite a few venues to have our wedding at the Sheraton Sand Key, and we couldn’t be happier!! We worked with Alexa for around a year and she was absolutely amazing! There were many times where we were able to stay calm among all the chaos of planning our wedding as Alexa was very calm and able to get everything answered and situated for us. The Sheraton was the most amazing “on-the-beach” experience we found around, and we were about 50 feet from the oceanfront and was beautiful! Every few days we have wedding guests tell us it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended and we (of course!) agree with them!

We picked the Sheraton Sand Key because it was where we met and where we got engaged, so it made sense to get married there. However, I am so glad we made that choice. Everything was phenomenal! The catering manager (Darrah) was responsive, patient, helpful and honest about things, like what has and hasnt worked in the past. The staff during the actual reception was great as well and a lot of my guest raved about the reception. The location, the beach, was beautiful and exactly as we had hoped it would be. Oh and the food, it was wonderful! My dad was skeptical since it had to be a buffet on the beach, but they proved him wrong, it was delicious. If you are looking for a beach wedding in the Tampa/Clearwater area, I definitely recommend the Sheraton Sand key because of the beach, the staff, and the food are amazing!

I cannot say enough positive things about this venue! They FAR exceeded our expections in every aspect. From planning to wedding night they went out of their way to make us happy. Our guests and ourselves were treated attentatively and professionally. The semi private area at Rusty’s Bistro was set up beautifully for us. The manager catered to every need we had and the food was amazing! Not one single complaint.

We highly recommend Sheraton Sand Key. You won’t be disappointed, we promise you!

We used the Sheraton Sand Key for a very large wedding room block. Thanks to Darrah Doherty at the Sheraton for all of her help. She made sure that every single aspect of our guests stay went perfect! She put tremendous effort into making sure that I was happy with all aspects of our guests stay. The Sheraton is a lovely, quite, upscale hotel there in Clearwater Beach. The pool area and beach area were both very clean, well kept and enjoyed by our large group.

We recently utilized the Sheraton Sand Key Resort as our "home hotel" during our wedding weekend. (Our ceremony took place next door at Sand Key Park, and our reception was at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center, just across the street.)

From the moment we began planning our room block, Darrah in Group Sales was wonderfully responsive and helpful. We were able to secure rooms for all our guests, suites for the bridal party, and even a private conference room to prepare and store our centerpieces.

I can't say enough about the friendliness and customer service the entire hotel staff showed us--from the front desk agents to the bellhops, room attendants, and bartenders. Over the course of the weekend, many of the staff members even knew us by name, and we were honestly sad to have to finally say goodbye.

Kudos to everyone for a job well done. It was an absolutely wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it!

I had my wedding at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on May 14, 2016. It was absolutely amazing from the day we arrived to the day we left. Our event planner Amanda was incredible. She was attentive and kind and really calming for such a big stressful occasion. I couldn't be happier with our wedding!

Working with Amanda is so easy. She is so helpful with planning my wedding. Working with her makes anything possible for any wedding. :)

The Sheraton Sand Key made my dream wedding come true! Our ceremony was outside on the grass and the reception was inside the Island Ballrooms. We received so many compliments on the venue, the food, and the service. Bonny Greenwood was such a pleasure to work with and everything exceeded my expectations. Most of our guests were from out of town and stayed at the hotel as well. Everyone raved about the resort. I would definitely recommend this venue to other brides!

They bent over backwards for us at the Sheraton. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. We had the reception in the Island Ballroom, and the wedding off-property. Amanda the Event Coordinator is fantastic. We communicated often throughout the planning process, and she always reassured me everything would be great. The food was outstanding, and our guests just had a wonderful weekend staying at the resort.

We held the ceremony on the beach and our reception in Rustys Bistro. All was amazing!

The most gorgeous beach to have a wedding on. Barefoot and blue sky's set the mood. The banquet team exceeded our expectations on the food and set up. Look no further than this location. Perfect!!!

I would like to take a minute to comment on my recent stay at Sheraton at Sand Key. The people were wonderful, the pool was great, the food was excellent, so overall it was a great stay. The one thing that stood out for us, was Darla, restaurant manager of Rusty’s, the in-house main dining restaurant. I was having my wedding nearby and needed a location for a rehearsal dinner. Darla sold us on Rusty’s. I could go on and on about the professionalism of Darla and her staff, the quality of the food and the ambiance of the location, but none of that would do any justice to our experience. I met with Darla the day before and laid out our expectations for the following day and when we arrived for the rehearsal dinner, she took our expectations and blew them out of the water. It was all we wanted and so much more. The attention to detail made this a great experience for my husband, myself, our family, and friends. Thank you, Darla!

We held our reception at the beautiful Sheraton Sand Key Resort. Every staff member from the front desk, to the banquet staff was extremely helpful and inviting. It was a pleasure to work with Patti, the catering manager.

The Sheraton was amazing for my wedding. Upon first contact they friendly, professional but extremely flexible to meet every need. During our stay, the entire staff made our families and friends feel like we were in a tropical paradise, catering to our every need. They were very affordable...every dime was well spent!
But, the best part is the amazing view and wonderful campus they have. You are sure to feel like a very special bride at this venue!

We had the pleasure of working with Bonny @ the Sheraton Sand Key for our wedding and she is such a great person to work with. Bonny definitely listened to all our ideas and responded with such professionalism and eagerness to please, we were honestly touched by her sincerity. She truly believes in making sure the Bride / Groom / Wedding Guests are fully satisfied before anything else. Our ceremony and wedding reception was the best night of our life & could not have happened without Bonny. The Sheraton Sand Key made us feel at home and as if the place was ours for us and our wedding guests. I would definitely come back to renew our vows :)

I can't give enough stars for the Sheraton. PERSONABLE, PERSONABLE, PERSONABLE! The people here are amazing and very experienced. I worked with Bonny Greenwood who has been there over 20 years. She was so personable and didn't make it seem like she was just doing another wedding. She offered so much and made everything so simple! She came up with a lot of things you don't even think of, she knows what she is doing. Phillip and Rob are great too! The staff there is so friendly and caring! The next morning somehow the whole staff knew that we were the newlyweds, it was really funny. At breakfast one of the waitresses came up to me as I walked in the restaurant, no clue how they knew. It was a really homey and friendly environment and I would recommend it to anyone. The beach there, the property and the ballroom are gorgeous! Totally made my day!

The Sheraton has been my home away from home for 12 years, and I didn't want to get married anywhere else. They made everything perfect from the day I got engaged to the day after the wedding. The food was amazing, and the help was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better venue for a wedding, especially since it was on the beach! The Sheraton, and everyone that works there was extremely accomodating, and made my wedding perfect!

We had our wedding and reception at the Sheraton Sand Key and loved every minute of it! John was great to work with and seems to have lots of experience handling weddings and stressed out brides! The food was great! The ballroom was great! Compared with the other venues in the area that we looked at, the Sheraton gave us more for our money. No hidden fees or anything. We highly recommend them!!

We stayed at the Sheraton at Sand Key after we got married on the beach and they were so accomodating! My parents made the reservations for us and all of our guests. When my parents told them that it was for a wedding they made sure that no detail was left out! My parents were able to get connecting rooms for our guests and a room with a wonderful view on a different floor for me and my husband! When we got to the room, we found strawberries and champagne! Thank you so much for everything!

Amanda the event planner at the Sheraton did a wonderful job in helping to organise our beach wedding ceremony at the Sheraton Sand Key, Clearwater. From the beginning she was very helpful and professional in meeting with us and helping us to tailor our beach ceremony and outdoor beach wedding reception. Amanda is very hardworking and really went the extra mile for us. She was a calm and steadying influence throughout our wedding ceremony and it was an absolute pleasure to have her organise our big day. I would highly recommend Amanda and the Sheraton Sand Key if you are considering Clearwater wedding venues!

We had a beautiful beach wedding at the Sheraton with fabulous service from our wedding coordinator John Verden. He was wonderful. I was very relaxed knowing that he had it all under control. The wedding was wonderful and the reception was exceptional. We have heard from numerous guests that the food was excellent. The quality and service at the Sheraton was outstanding I would highly recommend this venue for any event big or small.

I LOVED my wedding at the Sheraton! We had some bumps in the road leading up to the day, and I definitely had to be very thorough with the hotel when making plans and preparations. However, they really pulled through on the day of. The food was outstanding, and the staff was very nice and helpful. If you choose to go with the Sheraton Sand Key, be very specific on what you want and check and recheck! If you get thorough all the prep, I'm sure your day will turn out to be one to remember!

Expensive for what you get. Planned a destination wedding and it was very hard to communicate with the catering staff.

I would not recommend the Sheraton resort.
