My wife and I were exited to have our wedding at the Sheraton. Staff was very helpful, friendly and the location was just perfect for us.

We were so impressed with the Sheraton! Elizabeth was so responsive and easy to work with. She made sure the day was perfect and we didn’t have to stress about the details. The staff during the wedding were so attentive and respectful. We’d recommend this venue to our friends any day!

My mother hosted a baby shower for me at the Carlsbad Sheraton. It was absolutely perfect! I will have the most amazing memories of my baby shower for the rest of my life. Elizabeth helped us plan along the way, she was excellent. She always responded quickly to any requests or questions we had. The serving staff the day of was amazing as well. They were there every time we needed anything. Accommodated our requests for more umbrellas, drinks or appetizers, whatever it was they were on it immediately. Thank you all so much for everything!! The day was beautiful and I will cherish it forever!

Elizabeth Murphy and the staff did an exception job setting up our rooms, post-wedding brunch, transportation to our venue and other aspects of our wedding weekend. Couldn’t be happier with their service and responsiveness.

The Sheraton Carlsbad was the best choice we could have made for our big Italian wedding! The venue is absolutely gorgeous with stunning ocean views and the food was loved by all our guests. We've been inundated with compliments!! The friendly and professional staff was an added bonus!

Paul Stearns (along with the rest of the Sheraton staff) did an exceptional job hosting our wedding event. Everything went very smooth and that's due to Paul's service and planning. He was extremely responsive every step of the way with all the questions and requests my family and I had for him. He was extremely flexible and accommodating to ensure that our wedding day went perfectly and was able to get us exactly what we need. Not only did was he extremely professional, he was so welcoming and friendly to our parents and families. I couldn't be more happy with my decision to choose the Sheraton for our wedding venue. Additionally, Sheraton Carlsbad is a beautiful venue to host a wedding - extremely spacious, gorgeous ocean views, with a newly renovated lawn and ballroom with french doors opening out to the ocean blue lawn. If you're looking for a wedding venue in San Diego, this is one of the best and most reasonably priced options.

Our wedding on July 8th, 2017 at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort was nothing short of magical! Debra Ayala and her team were so great to work with and helped pull off our 400 person wedding with so much professionalism and attentiveness. I could not have asked for a better team to work with & the outdoor spaces worked so beautifully for our weekend of events from Thursday through Sunday. Planning an Indian wedding is no easy task, but to have an outdoor Sangeet, outdoor Wedding, and Reception at three very different locations makes this property extremely unique and a great venue to plan multiple wedding events. Thanks so much for making our wedding everything we envisioned and more!

There was one minor thing missing during our reception that I noticed during dinner (resort votive candles on dinner table) but absolutely not a big deal because everything else from food to venue to service and professionalism was top notch! Thank you so much! Now if only I could relive that day!

Staff was friendly and quick to respond. Didn't have to worry about anything the whole night or arriving to the location before hand, because everything was already done and very well organized.

Not only was every detail taken care of...but even though there were two other large events that evening on site....I would have never known! They treated us like we were THE only event there. Brilliant decor for the holidays added a perfect sparkle at every turn. I really can't thank Elizabeth and her crew enough!

For a year after we booked our wedding at the Sheraton Carlsbad, I dealt exclusively with Louise. About 2 weeks before our wedding, I received a phone call that Louise was no longer with the Sheraton, and that Adrian would be taking over my wedding coordinating. I won't lie, I was a little worried about this happening 2 weeks before my wedding (while I'm planning from states away as well). During those 2 weeks, Adrian was extremely helpful. We made sure all small details were correct, and that everything was set to go smoothly for the day of.
For the rehearsal, Adrian was great about telling us who needed to be where and when for the ceremony.
When it came to the day of the wedding, Adrian was texting me that morning to let me know when she would be in, and asked if there was anything we needed set up. In the late morning, I sent all the decor I needed set up down to the ballroom/ceremony location for a few things set up and expected to come down a little later to make sure everything looked perfect and that I still had a little time to set a few things up myself. 3pm came around and I realized that I didn't have time to set anything up myself. I was informed by my Maid of Honor that Adrian had taken care of EVERYTHING. I didn't worry about setting up 1 thing for my reception and ceremony.
Adrian also stayed around to make sure the ceremony went smooth, and that the reception was great. She was AMAZING! My husband and I are so so happy to have booked with the Sheraton, and I'm so insanely grateful that Adrian was so on top of things and was willing to help with everything. I don't think I would have had SUCH a relaxing day in the morning if it wasn't for her!

After carefully narrowing down our choices and then visiting over 10 venues, my husband and I randomly decided to check out the Sheraton Carlsbad since we were in the area. It was love at first sight! We were sucked in by the classy yet tropical feel, beautiful ocean view, and well-kept buildings. Our wedding consisted of over 200 people, which many were coming from out of town so it was perfect for our guests to get the "so-cal experience."

The catering manager, Louise was very calm, encouraging and helpful from our very first meet to the actual day. She responded promptly to my numerous emails and I really appreciate how she even sent me pinterest ideas. On the day of, we never went hungry (I actually ate everything) and the staff were checking on us throughout the reception. The supervisor in charge (sorry, I can't remember his name) even came up to us a few times to make sure our night was going great. It wasn't until after the wedding that I learned that some of my family members had also requested extra tables and chairs last minute, which the staff were very accommodating to. Superb service!

The food at our taste testing appointment was really good, but the food at the reception was even better. Many of our guests came up to us afterward with pleasantly surprised remarks on how chicken could taste so good. My husband is a picky eater too, so when I saw that he was happy, I was happy.

The only thing that was missed where the lights in the reception. I had wanted the room to be a little dimmer as guests walked in, but I may have not communicated that clearly. Besides this one minor detail, everything was perfect. I mention this because I want this to be an honest review.

Overall, everyone was very professional, friendly and flexible (like even Jeffrey, the Audio Visual Manager). I love this venue and would come back here for future events. Thank you for helping to make this the best day of our lives!

After careful consideration of many venues, my husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Sheraton Carlsbad. From the initial contact with the hotel, to meeting the catering manager, Louise Lambert, to planning all the details, and exchanging 100's of emails, our overall experience was stellar. Not only was Louise helpful, supportive, and quick to respond, she also seemed very genuine which was an important quality for me throughout this exciting yet stressful process (as other brides may know:)).

We picked the Sheraton because of its sprawling open feeling, gorgeous views of the ocean, and tropical feel. The grounds are immaculately maintained and I was drawn to the outdoor space which is where we had our wedding, on the ocean blue lawn. Our wedding was intimate with about 40 people and the Sheraton was the perfect location for all our closet friends and family to celebrate. While the grounds do provide for an indoor reception I would highly recommend having it in Palm Court which is adjacent to the beautiful pool. It was simply magical with string lights woven between the palm trees and delicious food. The hotel even provided hedges for privacy for the event which I thought was a lovely touch.

It is for these aforementioned reasons I highly recommend the Sheraton Carlsbad as well as Louise and her staff for any bride looking for a stunning location to create many wonderful memories of a lifetime!

We decided to have our wedding ceremony and reception at the Sheraton Carlsbad mainly due to location, location, location! We had family and friends mainly coming from San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles counties. It was the perfect middle point.

The onsite coordinator we worked with, Louise Lambert, was very helpful and responsive. She responded to all my questions and I was so happy to see her as my new husband and I entered the reception room.

What really stood out for us and our guests was the food! It was so good. One of my friends said she had been to many weddings, but never tasted food that was as good as what she had at our wedding. Kudos to the chef!

Everyone who worked at our reception was very courteous and professional. They made us feel really special.

As part of the wedding package, we got a corner King room. It was not quite as big as I would expect, but it had two patios and was convenient to get to the parking space.

The Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa is an amazing venue with gorgeous views of the ocean. The staff was extrememly helpful. I live out of the area, and they always accommodated my schedule when I was in town to work on our wedding. They provided excellent service, and some of our guests had allergies to certain foods we selected in our menu package, and the Sheraton servers made sure each of these guests had their meal specifications met. They made us feel extremely welcome upon our arrival for the wedding weekend, and I would definitely have another event there again!

This venue was exactly what I dreamed of as a little girl to be married at. It was beautiful! Aside from it's spectacular scenery, the service was amazing! Nicole Whittman is the best catering manager ever! She made everything possible without stressing out the wedding party. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue.

I could not have chosen a better venue for my wedding on October 2nd, 2010. My husband and I we so pleased with the wedding thanks to the wonderful service we received at the Sheraton in Carlsbad. They were very accommodating and helpful leading up to and the day of the wedding. I have only received positive feedback from all my guests regarding the ceremony site, reception food, and service. I would recommend this hotel to any future engaged couples as a perfect place to get married.

My experience at the Sheraton has been nothing but positive. It breaks my heart to not give them a perfect score because my wedding day and everything leading up to it was the best experience of my life, however the point of a review is to give other brides honest feedback and allow the Sheraton to correct their mistakes for the next bride. Nicole was absolutely incredible; always responded to me within a timely manner, was so accommodating, had an answer to everything, and her demeanor and attitude is infectious giving you joy and peace the day of your wedding.

Hiccups – My biggest disappointment was that we didn’t get the honeymoon suite as promised. Trivial, I know, but we spent so much money to wed there and the wedding day itself is so busy and full of excitement that after the reception it’s truly just you and your hubby time. Time to relax and be married. I had a lovely time with my husband in the beautiful room but it was just like any other hotel room. There were also a few little things that they didn’t deliver on; we were told there would be a plate of h’ourderves set at our table as we entered the ballroom since we didn’t get any during happy hour which didn’t happen. We were also told that since we most likely wouldn’t eat (which was accurate) that they’d deliver a plate of food to our “honeymoon” suite which again didn’t happen subsequently leaving our famished bodies to munch on protein bars that I brought because the kitchen/room service closed at 10:00. And other small things like no mirrors in room, coat racks for dresses, etc.

At the end of the day I decided to attribute all of that to human error – things will go wrong as they did at my wedding but that didn’t take away from all the good that the Sheraton did and how special the day was. I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for elegance, professionalism, and a stress free magical day.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with Debra and her team for my sister's wedding which was held on the last weekend of July 2017. Leading from Debra, each and every team member we interacted with a the hotel was so hospitable and a pleasure to interact with. They were always professional in their work and delivered above and beyond our expectations. Our guests also highlighted this fact many times to the family of the bride as well at to Debra and her team directly. I, being the brother of the bride, highly, highly, recommend the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa as the only destination every bride and groom should have their wedding. This fairly tale wedding would not have happened without the hard work that Debra and her team put into this wedding. We will always be indebted to them and will continue to recommend our family and friends to consider Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa. For all of you reading this review, I also recommend you have your wedding here as well.

We planned a wedding with the Sheraton in a months time. We were in a bind and needed help. The staff at the Sheraton were very accommodating in the whole process. Nicole Whittam and Moe are great. They went above and beyond to make our special day a day we'd never forget. Our family and friends all stayed at the Resort and loved it. The pool was a great place for our family to hang and drink all day. Thank you Sheraton Carlsbad.

we had our wedding here in May 2010 and we were totally satisfied. It is beautiful and nice without being TOO over the top or snobby! We had an awesome night, and Sarah at the Sheraton carlsbad was very helpful. we had our ceremony out on the lawn with the ocean in the background, which was exactly what we were hoping for. The reception room was very nice. We were able to use one of the smaller confrence rooms for a bridal changing room right next to the reception room, perfect for bridal costume changes!!

Our guests loved the site as well, the ONLY negative feedback we got from our guests was that their food/drinks/cake were taken away before they were done with them... (ie, they got up to dance for a while and when they got back to their table their food had been cleared away) I am sure this is something that can be easily fixed just by asking the catering manager to remind the wait staff to let the guests have a little extra time to finish their food!!

I gave a 4/5 on flexibility because we tried to get some specific beers and were unable to get them because we had to go through their beverage supplier (who only supplies certian beers). Also, you can only use their on site catering, which was not a problem at all for us (food was great!!), but I imagine some people would want to use outside catering.

Overall, we felt we got a great value for our money and feel so lucky we decided to randomly visit the Sheraton on our wedding venue search! We would absolutely recommend getting married here, what a wonderful and memorable experience!!

Thank you so much for all of your help leading up to and in making the day run smoothly. More importantly thank you for making the wedding a beautiful, fun and lasting memory for all. We recieved many compliments on the setting, the staff, the facility, the food and the event in general. So glad we selected your facility. It brought everything the bride had envisioned relative to bringing everyone together in one spot. So difficult with so many coming from all over the country to attend and the constant last minute changes that one can expect in travel and from the military directives. You were unflappable and responded well to last minute changes, issues and requests.

Also I wanted to mention how courteous and engaged all of the employees were in supporting the overall guest experience and in helping with the big event. From the front desk to the gardener to the catering staff and all of the many others involved which are many more than mentioned here, we (and our guests) received service and support that exceeded our expectations and made life so much easier. On the afternoon of the wedding, I particularly noticed a man cleaning each of the white garden chairs in the ballroom one by one to insure no one looked down at a dirty chair during the festivities. Wonderful attention to detail.

I began planning my wedding with Louise as my coordinator and everything was going well. About two weeks before my wedding I received a call from catering and I thought they were inquiring about my menu selection. When I come to find out they were notifying me the Louise was no longer with the company and I would be working with Debra. I was extremely worried and uneasy about this. However, Debra was very responsive to all my questions. They were not as flexible as I thought they should be especially since this last minute change and stress they added to my plate so close to the wedding. Overall it went well. The only other reason I reduced their rating is because they implied that they would be providing desserts but they ended up sending me a bill at the end. Regardless, my wedding was beautiful and most of the staff was friendly and very helpful. I will point out that one waiter even picked up on the fact that I could not have dairy and made sure that my dinner did not have any dairy products.

READ ALL: Overall, our wedding was incredible, everything we could have dreamed of. I have to make a VERY honest review for future brides. My dad and I were promised a room close to one another the night before the wedding and we were on opposite sides of the hotel. If you have a big family, try and make arrangements to meet somewhere else other than the Sheraton hotel after your event. We had a really bad experience with the security. We understand quiet hours and policy, but it is one of the biggest days of your life and you don't want it to be over. Elizabeth Murphy was awesome, she was very accommodating and was on top of everything for us. Our reception was gorgeous. We provided all of the charger plates (there was an option for silver ones but we wanted gold and donated ours to them), we provided all of our own centerpieces and they set them up for us. We paid an arm, a leg, and part of our first born for this location, not including hotels purchased by us and all of our 190 guests. The staff stated that their 20/20 bar would be open after our reception until 2am so we directed all of our guest there per the DJ. The guests all reported that the bar was completely dark with all the lights shut off and the staff claimed that they stayed until 1:00am but our reception was over at 12:00am so.... take that with a grain of salt. As I said we had a beautiful wedding BUT my new husband and I would certainly recommend a vendor location that has everything included, closes later, a place that can provide room blocks and keep their promise of a later time at the bar, or where security doesn't harass you the day before with wedding prep and day of the wedding! We paid over roughly $18,000.00 for the Sheraton alone, not including charger plates, invitations, centerpieces, guests goodies, and any other additives. That is just reception alone for about 190 people. Everything did not go off without a hitch but my husband and I are very happy!

The hotel rooms for guests were overprice
Food was overpriced (we got the chicken-yummy)
Drinks (Alcohol and soda) was overpriced
Linens were overpriced

They didn't ask if we wanted to extend the party like they said they would (we were going to play it by ear) and instead ended th party way too early!!!!

Overall I was pretty happy with the way our wedding turned out. I have to be honest prior to our wedding I was not happy with the responses I was getting from the Event Coordinator I was working with. We didn't get to taste the food prior to our wedding, they wouldn't allow my husband to have a late check out so that he and the groomsmen could get ready in a room and to top it all off they threw away the top tier of our cake as well as the dowel that I specifically asked them to keep. The Sheraton is giving us the amount that the top tier and the dowel so that we can replace both of them. Overall we were happy but let me tell you prior to our wedding day I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown dealing with the coordinator. Oh the food was excellent!!!!
