Perfect in every way

Rocklands Farm ended up being the perfect venue for the perfect wedding!
Honestly, it was perfect! When we had to completely reinvent our son’s wedding due to covid, Janis at Rocklands and the whole Simply Fresh events team came to our rescue.
From our first contact with Janis through to packing up the car, our experience was made as stress free as humanly possible.

We received so many comments about the beautiful setting (everyone local is planning a return visit), the parasols grandmas carried (great thought Janis), the beautiful set up of the tables and barn, and the food! Our guests couldn’t stop raving. One guest said “there is always at least one thing that isn’t that great, not this time! It was all fantastic”.

The entire staff could not have been lovelier. And given that we had to do this all so quickly, you all helped make this experience a joy, even given the insane circumstances. Truly, it was perfect.

Look no further for your wedding!

Rocklands was absolutely wonderful every step of the way. We had spent many pandemic days at Rocklands and joked about returning here for our wedding. Funny enough, this was the only venue we considered because we already loved the venue and the wine, but also fell in love with the family. Our wedding felt like a big hug from family members because of how kind the Rocklands team is. Jeni made our process so seamless, Greg helped us select the best wines, and Anna helped bring our wedding vision to life with gorgeous flowers.

Our picturesque, magical, dream wedding came true at Rocklands

On a beautiful October day in 2017 my now husband and I decided to go pumpkin picking at a farm in Poolesville, MD. On the drive to the farm, we stumbled over a one lane bridge and drove straight up a driveway instead of continuing on the road as we were supposed to. Looking at each other for a second, we realized we had discovered something far more exciting than pumpkin picking, we were at a winery! We said "Let's go get our pumpkins and come back here." And that's exactly what we did. We literally felt that we had hit the jackpot. And then we tried the wines and we were in heaven. We knew it was fate that we had found this place, and secretly dubbed it "our spot" and visited multiple times together following.

Fast forward to early 2019, when we knew that the proposal was coming, we saw that Rocklands Farm was hosting a wedding show. With the ring not yet on my hand, we immediately RSVP'd. We arrived at the show and even without a full tour, we asked to speak to whomever scheduled events and within days 10.10.2020 was our date. The proposal happened a couple of months later but the plan had already been set. From the second we started discussing hosting our wedding at Rocklands Farm with the owner, Janis, we were met with raving enthusiasm and positivity. She made us feel special and heard, and each time we visited she greeted us with a glowing smile. After we booked with Janis, we were referred to the only catering and events company that they use, Simply Fresh, who we worked with on everything else going forward. While our wedding had been in the making for more than a year when COVID-19 happened, Janis and Simply Fresh were both extremely kind in helping us to alter our plans to fit new guidelines and comfort levels.

Should you get married or host an event at Rocklands Farm? Absolutely yes. Janis is wonderful to work with, and really makes you feel important. The location is superb, and incredibly picturesque and unique compared to other venues in the area. Your pictures will be incredible and they will even drive you around the farm to make sure you get your shots! While we only had 14 people at our wedding due to COVID-19 (down from 130), our guests raved about the location, the food, everything - it was amazing. The price is comparable, and may even be less... keep in mind you are paying for the venue and then you negotiate with the catering and events company based on what you are looking for, so it's easy to make the cost fit your budget and specialize the event to your liking. The venue fee also gives you access to an abundance of decor, that Simply Fresh can help coordinate if you choose to use it.

Overall, we're incredibly happy and feel lucky to have gotten married at Rocklands Farm. It's something we will remember forever, and we will continue to visit and enjoy their amazing wines and atmosphere for years to come.

The Perfect Wedding

My daughter’s August wedding was canceled due to COVID. But she decided to get married anyway in a very small wedding - 13 people. Rockland Farms was the perfect choice. The ceremony took place in their beautiful gardens which was very private. With less than a month to plan, Janis and Erin could not have been more accommodating and helpful. I heard my daughter tell someone the other day that her wedding was “perfect”. Thank you Rockland Farms for making that happen!!

A magical farm wedding

If you are looking for rustic, boho, chic... Rocklands is your place. The venue is stunning, with the big red barn, the ceremony by a big open field, the cocktail hour softly lite next to a silo. The owner/manager Janis is super flexible and very helpful. She only does about 20 weddings per year so she actually gets to know each couple and works with them to make their day special. She even picked us up in her golf cart to make sure we didn’t miss the perfect once in a lifetime shot of fog rolling over the field at sunset. Rocklands does have an exclusive caterer, Simply Fresh Events, which honestly makes life so much easier because they are also amazing. Bonus, the wine is really good! (And we are wine snobs). Highly recommend checking out Rocklands.

Loved our wedding at Rocklands

Rocklands was a wonderful wedding venue. We loved the feel from day 1, relaxed, accommodating -- checked all our boxed, but felt super down to earth! Janis (the owner) was fantastic -- super responsive -- and really creative when it came to our crazy ideas -- she was along for the ride!

A really great venue!

We held our wedding reception at Rocklands. This is a very beautiful working farm that doubles as a venue, and the bustle of activity during the day adds to its charm. The buildings and grounds- ranging from the main barn venue space to the corn crib and field and more- all lend a very rustic and cozy vibe. Janis, the proprietor, is a very sweet and kind person who very much seems to care about the people who hold events at the farm, and is very responsive and communicative throughout the process. She also worked to accommodate us when we wanted to hang a disco ball from the barn's rafters instead of a chandelier.

The rest of the staff are similarly friendly and nice. We grew to knew many of them during our periodic visits to the venue, and they were warm and kind each time we saw them. It's very clear to us that Rocklands is a very well-run and empathetic place, and we're very glad that we got to have our dream reception there!

A memorial Event to remember!

I had a memorial event for my husband! It was fabulous! It was uplifting for everyone! The Rocklands Farm Winery was so accommodating to all my needs to make this a time to remember! Wonderful venue and people

We had a September wedding at Rocklands Farm and absolutely loved it. Guests are still raving about the venue - beautiful, secluded (even though not far from DC), relaxed and boho chic. There are so many options for where to have your ceremony, and the barn is wonderful for dinner and dancing. The whole place is just perfect as it is, we did barely any extra decorating (which is one of the reasons we chose this venue), and Rocklands has so many decorations you can you, and amazing vintage furniture for the cocktail hour, which was absolutely charming.

The best part was working with Janis, who owns the farm/venue. She is so full of ideas, so positive, and responsive. She made us feel so relaxed and welcomed as we planned. We had friends come up to us during the wedding and say they wanted to do their wedding again and have it at Rocklands!

When we were taking pictures, Janis drove us around to all the best spots as well! She made the whole planning process and the wedding day better than we ever thought.

Beautiful Venue

This is a beautiful venue! All of our guests loved it! We had great weather and it wasn't too hot. I would imagine mid june/july it would be very hot there (the barn is not AC) so keep that in mind if you plan to get married during mid summer. I also wish that there was some way the portable bathroom trailer could be included in the venue price (as its required and only allowed to be rented from one company). There are so many beautiful places to take pictures and we also loved all the stuff on the farm we could use as centerpieces for free!

Beautiful Location and Awesome People

We loved working with Janis and everyone at Rocklands. Everyone was helpful, kind, flexible and such fun to work with. We loved the laid back atmosphere, being out in the agricultural reserve, the farm and the beautiful old red barns on the property. My husband had been to the venue a few times and on our first visit together we knew instantly it was the perfect place for us! We also were lucky enough to have the most beautiful weather for our wedding day and had a light breeze blowing through as the sheep were frolicking in the field next door and all of the flowers were in bloom. We also took advantage of the amazing florals by Sungold Flowers (on property at Rocklands) and Simply Fresh Catering who all work seamlessly together! We have nothing but great things to say about this venue and the family that owns it!

Loved Rocklands farm

We loved having our wedding at Rocklands Farm and working with Janis and SimplyFresh. They were very accommodating for our Friday morning wedding/lunch reception. Janis is very easy to communicate with and Nicole from SimplyFresh was essential in the day running smoothly. The venue is beautiful (so much land/space) and we loved the rustic barn feel. The only problem is the barn does not have air conditioning, but we knew that well ahead of time and took a risk since we had to get married when at a time convenient for all family. We got married on one of the hottest days of the year midday, and we all managed and still had a great time. Looking back we don't think about how hot it was, but how much we loved the venue and our wedding! Rocklands farm is a gorgeous place.. look no further!

Nothing Quite like Rocklands!

We found no venue like Rocklands Farm when looking for our June 2019 wedding. The space is beautiful but when you book RF, you also book the team that comes along. Janis was a joy to work with from day one. She really does have a "lets figure it out attitude" and helps you shape the farm into your dream wedding rather than being cookie cutter. We look forward to continue to visit RF for years to come.

THE best venue to get married at!

Rocklands Farm Winery is hands down THE best venue to get married at! The family-run farm is stunning and offers an experience that you and your guests will remember forever. Janis (the owner) and the rest of her team at Rocklands truly do an incredible job making sure all of the little details and requests are taken care of, making your wedding day easy, beautiful and FUN! In addition to the awesome team, Rocklands Farm Winery also has Sungold Flowers, an AMAZING florist you can use, right onsite. Their team is equally fantastic and I can't thank them enough for making my wedding day dreams come true!

Beautiful venue with rustic charm

Janis and her family are amazing! The venue is beautiful and had all the rustic charm we were looking for! All of the props and decor items that they have available to use made our wedding look amazing without us having to buy a lot of additional items, which definitely helped with our budget. The outdoor space is beautiful and there was plenty of room for all of our guests. We can't wait to go back and celebrate other special occasions at the farm!

Rocklands Farm & Winery was absolutely the perfect place for my husband and I to get married. This place is perfect hidden gem in the Poolesville Area! When we visited Rocklands for the first time, we knew it was love at first sight! From the beautiful grass fields, the gorgeous farm gardens, and the rustic red barn- its easy to say... ROCKLANDS was perfect! The natural atmosphere of getting married at a farm mixed with elegant touches of decorations within the barn-make this venue perfect. My husband and I got married about six weeks ago- and we STILL have people mentioning to us how beautiful it was.

Janis Glenn- the owner and operator of Rocklands Farm & Winery is such a kind hearted woman. She is easy to contact and is available for any questions at any time. She was very helpful with my elderly grandfather and supporting him with wheel chair access around the venue. And coming to visit on random days to review and check out the venue.

What is also great about this venue is Brides from previous weddings tend to recycle products and signs from their weddings-allowing you to reuse a lot of decor items like candles, signs, furniture, etc.- for your wedding! Truly wonderful!

Lastly, please keep in mind when booking with this venue they do have specific caterers they would like you to use. If you choose to use someone else, it is allowed-but you have to pay a small fee. My husband and I had such a joy using one of the caterers they suggested and boy was it a breeze!

Point saying.. Rocklands Farm & Winery was a perfect and most ideal wedding venue for my husband and I! We loved the property, the staff, the hospitality, and the whole-hearted love they give to their clients. They wish you nothing but the best for your marriage!

Rocklands is fabulous!! I cannot complement Janis, her family, and her team at the farm enough. Everyone we interacted with was warm, helpful and genuinely interested in making our wedding an unforgettable experience. The farm itself is stunning. One of our favorite things about the venue and one of the aspects that won us over was its natural beauty. We didn't have to spend much to make the space gorgeous; it was already that way. And anything else we needed, the farm has a huge stockpile of props and decorations. We had our ceremony on the lawn behind the manor house. During the ceremony itself sheep and cows were grazing and the golden glow from the setting sun painted a perfect picture. We held the reception in the barn and since our wedding was on the smaller side- 75 guests in total- we fit comfortably in the space. Our guests loved the bonfire pit and at the end of the night everyone gathered outside to enjoy s'mores and gaze at the stars. Janis works with Simply Fresh Events to arrange everything from catering and alcohol to a restroom trailer (not your average port-a-potty) and group transportation to and from the event. They are professional, organized and high quality. As an individual who has worked in restaurants/events/and catering my whole life, I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and quality of services we received. One thing to note for the less adventurous couple. This is a farm and there are bugs, occasional mud, and unruly plants and animals. For us that added to the charm, but I do recommend getting bug spray for your event, and be prepared to get your shoes a little dirty. If you are looking for a venue in the DC region that is naturally gorgeous, I highly recommend Rocklands.

As a wedding venue, Rocklands can't be beat. Prior to our ceremony, guests congregated in the wine tasting area sipping Rockland's wine offerings while we got ready with close family and friends in a separate house on the property.
We then had a beautiful outdoor ceremony, complete with a farm cat casting a watchful eye over baby pigs and a mooing cow. Afterwards the barn provided a great space for our reception, with plenty of space for eating and dancing. Rocklands also has dozens of props which we used to decorate the reception area.

In addition to its eye catching beauty, Rocklands has great staff and owners. Janis, the events manager and property owner, was very easy to work with. She was always available to answer questions and on the day of our wedding personally drove us around the farm so that we could find spaces for beautiful photos. We also worked with Chris and the wine staff set up a wine tasting to ensure we had great Rocklands wine for our wedding. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with.

I can't recommend Rocklands Farm enough! From our initial contact with Janis, she was extremely responsive, flexible, and accommodating. It really felt as though making our day perfect was as important to her as it was to us! We were looking for a beautiful location to hold an intimate "Not So Big Wedding" on a budget, and it ended up being exactly as we'd envisioned it. We booked the formal backyard mid-week (on a Wednesday) for our outdoor ceremony with the barn as a rain back-up location, which are both gorgeous. Truthfully, we weren't sure which we preferred more, so we figured we'd let the weather decide :-) I can't think of one thing that could have been better about our day. From the beautiful bridal dressing room to the sunflowers blooming in the flower garden, everything just felt magical. Janis and the entire Rocklands team are fantastic, and the setting is just breathtaking! Whether you're planning something small and intimate or a larger event, Rocklands can accommodate it all.

My wedding day was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined, thanks to Janis, Anna, and Caitlin. Janis is the owner of the farm, and she was so flexible and helpful when it came to logistics. The day before the wedding, the forecast was looking extremely hot (over 100 degrees!), and she suggested moving the ceremony site to the covered "corn crib"; it was a fantastic idea! Our guests were much cooler, and Anna and Caitlin of Sungold Flower Co. decorated it so beautifully. The farm is an absolutely stunning backdrop for photos, and has all the amenities needed for a special occasion. With Janis' expertise and Anna and Caitlin's local flower arrangements, you can truly make your wedding day reflect you and your spouse as a couple. Simply Fresh, the recommended caterer, was absolutely top notch. Our guests were raving about the food, and loved their suggestion of pie instead of the traditional cake. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue and people to work with for our wedding!

We loved our experience with Rocklands Farm! It was an absolutely beautiful location for our wedding reception, it has so much charm and also has very helpful resources. We loved using decorations and beautiful mismatched china from Janis' collection! The flowers through Sungold Flower Co. also added lovely touches to our day. Our guests had so much fun at our wedding and we couldn't have imagined it anywhere else!

Bottom line: you will not find a better venue, team, or location for your wedding. We were ecstatic! All of our guests said the farm was the most fun they've had at a wedding. Book with them. You will not be disappointed.

Rocklands was amazing!!! An absolutely beautiful venue with a variety of lights and decorations. Janis is wonderful and easy to work with. There are speakers, so you can play your own music. There's also a convenient bride's dressing room area and accessible bathroom. The wine was delicious :), and so was the BBQ we ordered through SimplyFresh. The property is extremely scenic and provides a great atmosphere and backdrop for photos. We also held our rehearsal dinner at Rocklands, which was lovely. Thank you so much!

Deciding to book Rocklands Farm for our wedding was the best decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. Janis was amazing to work with - so calm and helpful, extremely responsive to emails and full of great ideas on how to best use the space.

The setting is absolutely stunning, with a range of different sections of the property that can be used for the various parts of the wedding. If you want a venue that offers of a variety of smaller, distinct settings for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, this is the place for you. We were extremely fortunate in that the weather was beautiful for us, so we really got to take advantage of the indoor/outdoor aspects of the venue, with guests being able to have a drink right outside the barn if they wanted fresh air and take ten steps back into it when they heard a song they wanted to dance to. It can get a bit warm in the barn, but there is good air circulation when both doors are open and the fans are going (and they are not as loud as you might think when you see them).

We also loved that the flowers for our wedding were grown and arranged by Sungold Flower, which are based on the farm as well, and that the wine that were served was from the Rocklands winery. Very locally-sourced! As other brides mentioned, there are also so many different decorations that have been recycled from past weddings that are available for use, including antique pieces of furniture that were so artfully sprinkled throughout the space. We couldn't have been happier with Rocklands as our venue!

I absolutely loved everything about my wedding at Rocklands Farm. When scheduling a wedding in June I knew the chances of rain on my wedding day was at least 50%. And, of course, the Maryland weather did not disappoint. It poured the whole time. But, not only did we have a backup weather plan from day 1 with the venue, but my wedding was just as beautiful as it would have been had we had it outside. The staff was super personal and attentive, Janis is amazing and always remembered me any time I stopped by during the wedding planning phases, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about this venue. My wedding pictures are stunning, even with the rain, and it was everything I hoped for and more!

We had a wonderful experience working with Rockland’s Farm for our wedding and could not be happier with how the day and venue turned out! They were so easy to work with and provided so many options for locations of event activities. The farm itself is so beautiful and transformed to be even more beautiful for our wedding. My wife and I were looking for a true barn/farm venue and fell in love with Rocklands from the moment we stepped on the property. Janice was extremely welcoming and an absolute pleasure to work with. We would also highly recommend using Sungold Flower Company, which is the onsite florist! We have absolutely fallen in love with Rocklands and are excited to continue spending time there for years to come!

Rocklands Farm was the most amazing space to get married! I want to begin with the owners of the farm. We worked mostly with Janis who is about as wonderful as you can get. She is so warm, inviting, and does everything she can to make your planning and your event perfect. She is incredibly responsive for questions, she goes above and beyond for site tours and walk-throughs, and was so accommodating for us the whole way through.

When we booked the venue (over a year and a half ago), we were her first lesbian wedding. I think since booking they actually held another lesbian wedding, but either way, we felt so comfortable and supported the entire time. That is all Janis. She took the time and effort to make us feel that way, and we will always love her for that.

The venue itself is the best farm/rustic style venue in the DMV area that we found. For us, we LOVE the working farm aspect: during our ceremony we even heard a pig squeal!! For us, that was perfect. We felt in nature while having a physical space to work with. The backdrop for the venue is stunning: open fields, cows, sheep, you name it. It is so green, so lush, it is unmatched elsewhere. We found a few other venues in VA that were also beautiful, but they weren't actually working farms, which we felt took away from the charm. Like, why are we getting married on a farm that no longer is a farm and is just a wedding venue? Not our style. But the wonderful part about Rocklands is that it feels authentic while also feeling like a wedding venue-- it is simply gorgeous. It didn't require a lot of decorations either because it is just so naturally amazing.

We held the party in the barn. We had an 8 piece Motown cover band (The Moonlighters) who just brought the house down. The barn was such a beautiful and fun space to dance. There is no AC in the barn, but we rented fans through our caterer, and the walls of the barn completely open up.

We had an absolute fairy tale wedding at Rocklands. We had the unfortunate rain, but it ended up being even more magical in the barn. The venue is amazing rain or shine- which is very hard to find! The team at Rocklands was so accommodating and professional (and FUN) from start to finish. It was a day we will never forget.

My husband and I could not have been happier with our experience at Rocklands Farm!
Our wedding was on October 28, 2017 and we got exactly what we wanted - a perfect autumn day that felt special and intimate for our families and guests. The property owner, Janis, is very warm and welcoming as is their dog Scout. The farm is well positioned to function as a wedding venue with a gorgeous field for the ceremony and a natural transition over to the barn for the reception. Our guests could not stop talking about how much they loved the property. With most of our guests coming in from out New York City, Boston and Washington, DC, Rocklands provided our guests the best that Poolesville has to offer. As someone who grew up in Poolesville, I was so proud to show off the area where I grew up and Rocklands made that so easy.
My husband and I love Rocklands Farm and would recommend it to anyone. It's a beautiful and special place that is filled with love, and it shows.

Janis and the Rocklands Farm team were absolutely incredible! From day one we knew this was the perfect venue (and was actually the only one we visited). The venue is perfect for a laid-back but beautiful indoor/outdoor wedding. Aside from it being beautiful, there are tons of "leftover" decor from other weddings that you are allowed to sift through, paint and use at your wedding for free! Janis was so welcoming and accommodating and responded to email even when out of town. Two days before our wedding we were setting up our candy bar. Janis helped the entire day to get the room ready. She even washed the table cloths (that she lent us) because she wanted them to be perfect. We also had a mix-up in timing for our ceremony and Janis and her team offered to close their market 30-minutes early that day to accommodate at no extra charge. Getting married at Rocklands could not be more beautiful and comfortable! It was our DREAM wedding. Janis, thank you thank you thank you!

Working with Rocklands was one of the highlights of our wedding. From the moment we stepped on to the grounds, I knew it was where we would get married. Janis and her family are so wonderful and easy to work with, and my husband and I really loved the idea of getting married at a family-owned venue rather than a large commercial one. Choosing Rocklands as our venue offered so many unique and personal touches, from the flowers grown onsite (check out Seed to Ceremony, they're amazing!) to roasting s'mores in the outdoor fire pits to taking photos down by the creek. Everyone also raved about the wine and food (we worked with Simply Fresh and they were equally wonderful in every way). We did our ceremony and cocktail hour on the lawn near the house, and held our reception in the barn. Literally everything was just perfect. I really wanted an elegant wedding in a rustic setting, and with a little creative decorating we transformed the barn into exactly what I had envisioned. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was having to seat some of our guests in the loft for dinner, but almost everyone spent the majority of the time on the dance floor or out at the fire pits so it really was not a big deal. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to any bride looking for an intimate yet natural setting. I can't thank Rocklands enough for making our wedding vision become a reality!!

Where to begin, this venue and its owner Janis were phenomenal. Janis was responsive, accommodating, and really wanted you to have the best day that you wanted. There was never a point where I felt pressured to use a preferred vendor or to change my plans. We were able to bring in our own form of catering (food trucks) and our own bartender which helped us save a lot of money. The site itself is beautiful and has several different locations for pictures/cocktail hour/ceremony (Janis even let us take photos in the actual vineyard). She also has a huge stock of props, signs, and decorations that you can use for free! I would highly recommend choosing this venue!

We got married this past September at Rocklands Farm and could not have been happier with our selection of venue. The setting is absolutely beautiful and there is so much to see and do. It was also fun having a great selection of backdrops for photos (flowers, fields, barn, creek...). We had approximately 150 guests,and there was more than enough room for everyone, but it still felt intimate and special. Janis, and the whole team, was very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had and helped make everything run smoothly. We received many compliments from our guests about the venue and how much they enjoyed it. Thank you Rocklands for helping make our wedding weekend perfect!

Rocklands Farm is magical. The moment that I stepped onto the farm, I knew it was the right venue for me. From my very first email exchange with Janis, she made me feel like family. I had a very intimate wedding (35 people with a seated farm-to-table dinner) and Janis and her family made it the most personalized and memorable day. From the breathtaking farm flowers (from Anna at Seed to Ceremony) and amazing food (done by Rocklands directly), to the decorations, I couldn't have been more happy with the result. I trusted them with all the details (doing only a few walk through's for timing) and when I walked out of the barn on my wedding day, everything was perfect. They are flexible, accommodating and attentive to details. The atmosphere is very rustic, but also welcoming and homey. For us they truly achieved the vintage farm-to-table / family-focused wedding of my dreams. Plus, this venue is perfect for photographs (a mansion backyard/front yard, old climbing tree, corn crib, barn, grape vines, flower field, one-way bridge) - even when it rains (which it did!). I want to go back and re-live it again and again and again. They are the perfect spot for any wedding (big or small), but also intimate affairs. I can't speak more highly of this family, team and venue and I can't be more grateful to have worked with them on my special day.

I could not be happier with our decision to have our wedding reception at Rocklands Farm. The venue is rustic but very beautiful.my guests loved the grounds. They commented about how free they felt since they were able to walk from the cocktail lawn to the barn to the bonfire for changes of scenery. They were not confined to a big ballroom.

You can honestly show up with only some votive candles and have an incredibly beautiful wedding.

When my dear friend told me about the wedding her daughter was dreaming of, I immediately thought of Rocklands and encouraged her to look into it. I had the privilege of going with the bride and her mom on their initial visit out to Rocklands and enjoyed watching the excitement and vision come to life before my eyes. Janis brings to the experience her tremendous insight, expertise and experience, and possibly the most important ingredient is Janis' joy-filled, calm presence that illuminates the setting with the vision that your dreams can happen here! Whether it is choosing table/barn decorations from her treasure trove (which she freely lends) or discussing the details and potential issues (like rain, when you so hoped for sunshine) Janis graciously assists the bride to bring her dreams to life. The evening of our wedding event did in fact feature a summer storm just as dinner was to be served in the tent. Retreating to the safety of the barn the delay turned out to be a very special time for everyone. We were able to get a wedding guest group shot of everyone (that's a rare treasure), the bride and groom were able to relax, catch their breath and really enjoy visiting with their guests, and when it was time to return to the tents, Janis was right their with a bucket of umbrellas! No detail is too small to get the proper attention! The setting is magical with the lighted trees, the rich rustic tones of the barn dusted with the sprinkle of tiny lights everywhere...it is an experience you'll never forget. Thanks to the Rocklands team for being such a blessing to couples seeking the perfect, charming, venue of a country wedding.

amazing place amazing staff amazing all around - these people go above and beyond to make sure your guests are comfortable and happy (for example, it was a bit cold during my wedding and during cocktail hour they set up a bonfire for guests to get warm without even being asked to! i know that my guests appreciated it and it was a small detail that really helped a ton - they also set up lit chandeliers and lighting that was lovely) Janis who owns the farm is unbelievably kind and hospitable - and her daughter in law Anna who runs the flower garden on site is just an incredible artist. her floral arrangements are full of wonder and sculptural beyond belief. the ONLY condition for the venue is that you have to buy the wine which they make on site as well, but thats a GOOD THING. people complimented us on the wine alllllllll night (as well as how beautiful the venue was - "how did you guys find this place?!?!!?" was a common question) - they have lots of vintage furniture and decorations that you are welcome to use. i also HIGHLY recommend going with simply fresh catering to help run your event (they work closely with rocklands) - extremely good and capable and trustworthy people. i feel indebted to both rocklands and simply fresh for helping to make my day so perfect THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Rocklands Farm was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding and I can't recommend it highly enough. We were looking for a place for a wedding that could be as laid-back as we were about the planning process while still paying attention to detail and creating the overall event we wanted. Over the months leading up to our wedding, we got to know the Rocklands staff and visited the farm many times (usually to sample the wine and enjoy the beautiful surroundings). When it finally came down to wedding day, we felt so comfortable and at home on the farm. We were truly able to use the whole farm - I got ready in the barn, we had our ceremony on the back lawn, cocktail hour in the tasting room/market, and our reception in the barn. We also were able to drive all around to get amazing photos in the fields. Janis opened her home to us, helping us with everything we needed the day-of. We loved that there were so many props and decorations to choose from, we loved that the flowers were grown on the farm and assembled by Janis' daughter-in-law, we loved that we never felt pressured into anything - we felt completely supported by the staff. The farm is beautiful all on its own and there was so little that we had to do to decorate. It was the perfect venue and we look forward to staying in touch and visiting the farm for years to come.

We just had our wedding at Rocklands this past Saturday and our guests can't stop talking about its charm and beauty. I feel so special I got to have my whimsical wedding at this magical place. Janice (owner) takes so much pride and joy in Rocklands. I feel like she does it purely for the happiness it brings to others. Rocklands Farm is a hidden gem. The Glenn family and staff at the farm are so amazingly generous, helpful and a pleasure to work with. We had our event the first weekend of April and it was so beautiful as all the spring flowers and trees began to bloom. Literally everything about our event space, the wines, the staff, the ease and flow and the great time had by our guests exceeded our expectations! I had a large event in late March (a rehearsal dinner for 70 people -- basically a small wedding!) and was quite concerned about the weather leading up to the event. Would the barn be too chilly?

Janis was so flexible, communicative and accomodating and made sure I had everything needed to keep my guests comfortable. We ended up only needing two of the professional-grade propane heaters and the flexibility she and her vendors offered meant I didn't pay for any more heat than I needed. The weather turned out slightly chilly, but my guests were all warm and happy in the upper barn.

The farm looked beautiful in early spring, and the atmosphere in the historic barn was romantic with votives and twinkle lights all around. We received lots of compliments from our guests on the lovely choice of venue.

We served Rocklands wine at the event delivered up a flight of stairs from the tasting room in the lower barn. Our guests loved the wine choices and we loved the convenience!

I'm so glad we chose Rocklands for our event!

Rocklands is one of my favorite places on the planet. Not only is it bucolic and scenic and really close to DC, I really appreciate their sustainable approach the raising livestock. All of their meat products are great (love getting beef bones and chicken backs/necks to make homemade stock--hard to find that stuff in the grocery store), and their wine is actually really great (yes, wine snobs, Maryland is producing some quality wines).

But the real reason I love Rocklands is because I was married there. My (now) husband and I are outdoorsy and really wanted to have a rustic wedding. Rocklands was the perfect setting. Janice Glenn, the owner, was so wonderful to work with. She was like another mother doting on us and making sure everything was perfect for our day. Geoff and Jocelyn Barker of Simply Fresh were the caterers and not only was their food incredible, they were easy to work with and not overpriced. Jocelyn also became our de facto event planner and was incredibly patient and on the ball. Anna Glenn (Janice's daughter) did all of the decor and 100% nailed our request for a rustic and woodsy fall look for the room. It really couldn't have been more perfect.

So go to Rocklands. Drink their wine. Listen to live music. Pick up their locally raised, sustainable meats. Enjoy the view. Get married there.

Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful this venue is! We heard about this venue through one of my coworkers and I am so grateful we did. We toured the venue with Janis, the owner, who was very informative and helped us envision how our day would be. Besides this we toured one other venue, and visited many online but this one captured our hearts. We booked our venue here, and right away she provided recommended vendors and allowed us a flexible payment plan (we also booked a year and a half in advance).

The caterer she recommended was Simply Fresh and they truly were amazing also and helped in making our day super perfect. Simply Fresh does many events here and knows the venue very well so it is a no brainer to also book with them. Janis' daughter in law did our flower arrangements for our whole ceremony and reception! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! Her company is called Seeds to Ceremony, and she grows the flowers right on the farm. This is also a very valuable service to have all your vendors essentially in one area. Throughout the whole process, Janis was very professional and responsive even when I had small questions every other week or so :).

The day of our wedding which was in late October was absolutely gorgeous and seamless. We had our cocktail hour outside of the main house in the back, and used Janis' vintage seating which our guests loved, and used for pictures! We also were allowed to come in the day before and decorate with any and all props we wanted to use from the farm. This was awesome because she has so many rustic props, and it truly all comes together with any vision you may have. This is also a beautiful backdrop for all your wedding pictures with your hubby and your wedding party!! Everything is GORGEOUS!

I would absolutely recommend this venue in a heartbeat. I truly had my dream wedding, and it would not have been possible without this beautiful venue and great owner, Janis.

This venue was perfect for us! Our guests all thought it was gorgeous! Everyone was very nice to work with and we were very happy with the space for our summer wedding! They have a great rain plan which is perfect because most outdoor venues we looked at didn't have any rain plan options that we were happy with. We wound up not needing rain plan but we were happy that we had it as an option!

Rocklands was fabulous! We wanted to get married in Montgomery County at a spot where our family and friends could explore and have a great time. Rocklands is all that and more. Not only are the grounds beautiful, but they have every type of decoration you could possibly imagine for a farm wedding. The lighting that Janis does throughout the night is spectacular. Rocklands was also so accommodating to our lighting requests in the barn. We asked for large bulbed string lights and they were put up just for us. On top of all of the things they did to make the property gorgeous Janis also used her cart to drive us around for photos and to transport my elderly grandmothers throughout the evening. She must have made 20 different trips using her cart throughout the night and for that we are so grateful. Rocklands was the perfect setting and Janis is very accessible for any questions or requests you may have. Rocklands is extremely reasonably priced, but one thing to note when looking at costs of this venue is that you must buy your wine from the farm, so make sure to add that into the final cost.

This venue was so unique in itself! You could honestly bring in fake candles and that would be all you would need to make this venue exactly what you wanted!! All of the props and decorations included and that this venue had to offer was what made this venue perfect! It had so much to offer that you could pick and choose from, it was such a time and money saver! It needed very little to put it above and beyond the perfect wedding spot! It's absolutely beautiful and their house caterer (simply fresh events) was great! I highly suggest going to check this venue out, because you will be sold before you leave!! Our wedding was absolutely stunning!!

Rocklands Farm is a gorgeous venue, and Janis could not be more accommodating. We fell in love with the farm when we first visited and were so glad that we booked with Janis. Our guests called the venue "effortlessly elegant," "beautiful," and "perfect." My wedding was the best day of my life, and Rocklands was a huge part of that. One piece of advice: my fiancé and I were not in love with the two caterers that Rocklands recommends. Feel free to look elsewhere. We went with Main Event and were happy with the result.

Janis was so great to work with -- very accommodating and responsive to the needs of our unique event. She made it so special even in the rain, using the barn doors to create a "grand reveal" effect right before I walked down the aisle. We loved getting to use so many of her "shabby chic" decorations (lots of burlap and lace, chalk signs, and mason jars), including mismatched antique china plates that the dinner was served on. I would recommend Rocklands to any bride looking for a rustic venue that puts its guests at ease!

I cannot say enough good things about Janis Glenn and her entire staff at Rocklands Farm. Janis was a pleasure to work with and was always warm and welcoming when we saw her. Her daughter-in-law Anna prepared our flowers for us. Her arrangements were spot on and she instantly knew what I wanted after only one email and a sample of pictures from Pintrest. Plus, her price was very reasonable. The wine tasting room was also terrific to work with as we sampled wine on two different occasions and they remembered us when we came back every time. The barn created the warm and inviting atmosphere we wanted and we did not have another cookie-cutter event at a big soulless hotel. I hope I can find enough lifecycle event to hold there! It was simply fantastic.

Rocklands Farm is the perfect place to hold a wedding. First off, Janis (Farm owner) is an amazing woman with the best personality. You can really tell she cares about her brides and their day, and wants to make it so special. Not only is the venue so unique the property is lovely and the wine (which you have to serve due to MD regulations) is wonderful!

Rocklands also offers so many decor options that no matter what your vision is, there is something that will fit the bill. This was a great way to save money because often wedding decor go to waste after the big day, and Rocklands has it all --- candles, chalkbaords, vases, mason jars, signs, lace, lights - you name it they have it.

There onsite florist Anna, is simply amazing as well, and very affordable compared to other florists in the area. Her flowers were breath taking - flower crowns, bouquets, center pieces, garlands - she does it all.

Rocklands will not disappoint! The barn is so charming the property is the perfect size to entertain guests. My guests are still raving about the venue, and to have such a cute farm so close to DC - it was PERFECT!

From the barn filled with twinkling lights to the beautiful surrounding countryside, Rocklands Farm is filled with rustic charm. We loved having our woodlands themed wedding here, and our guests loved it too! The Rocklands Farm staff is friendly, hard working and truly cares to do everything they can to make your wedding day special and memorable. We held our ceremony in the barn, cocktail hour in the tasting room and reception back in the barn - the flow of events was wonderful. We used Simply Fresh Events as our caterer - they do many weddings at the farm and are super knowledgeable about what works and does not work. After our wedding, my husband and I were so happy with how our wedding turned out and would not have changed one thing. Our guests raved about the barn, food and wine. Rocklands is also a winery and their Rose is my favorite. Thank you Rocklands!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Janis and Rocklands Farm. She is incredibly helpful, responsive, and passionate about what she does. Not to mention easy to get along with, which makes all the difference in the world! She made me feel so comfortable at the farm, so much so that my mom and I referred to it as “our farm” during wedding planning. I got married over the weekend that Hurricane Joaquin was here, and Janis was such an incredible support system for me. While it was raining, I decided that the ceremony would be outside - the radar showed a 50/50 chance of rain, so we took it. I really appreciated how Janis accepted my decision and didn't question me. She worked so hard to get the ceremony ready to be outside, and she did a fantastic job! It ended up not raining, and our pictures are so beautiful – the scenery and backdrop are perfectly green and majestic.. One of my guests even said that with the weather and the farm, my bridesmaids looked like fairies when they were walking down the aisle! You can’t get much better than that =).. A HUGE thank you to Janis and Rocklands Farm – we had a better wedding than we could have ever hoped for, and it was because of her!

When I pulled up to Rocklands Farm I knew it was exactly where I wanted to have my reception. Janis was able to schedule me in on short notice to view the farm and took her time to show me around and go over everything, despite the rain and having another event schedule for that evening. So far, Janis has been extremely helpful in directing us to vendors and answering any questions we have had. *Update - Janis was so extremely helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. She worked with my schedule being a very far out-of-town bride and answered any questions I had. We had no trouble getting in two days before the wedding to work on last minute details, even when they were having the rehearsal for the Friday evening wedding. We could not have asked for a better venue, it went perfectly with our vision. Our wedding was memorable in part because of Janis and her family sharing their farm with us!

I cannot say enough about our experience at Rocklands Farm. The property is stunning, Janis is extremely warm and gracious, and there are multiple closets full of rustic and shabby-chic style items you can use to decorate. We were given full access to the property for the entire weekend to set up, have our rehearsal, ceremony/reception, and clean up the next day. Janis was always available by email/phone ahead of time to discuss details, and she was present for the entire wedding day to assist as needed. Even when the weather through a slight wrench in our evening (very chilly), Janis was there with quilts and blankets to keep guests warm.

An extra huge plus - Janis' daughter-in-law Anna has a business (From Seed to Ceremony) where she grows your flowers on the farm in preparation for the big day. We were allowed to use any catering company we wanted, but given the logistics of the farm (water/electricity/location/etc.), we found using their recommended company, High Point Events, to be the best idea.

Thanks to Janis and everyone from Rocklands, our wedding day was beautiful and stress-free. I can't thank them enough!

We loved getting married at Rocklands. It was beautiful and uncomplicated. Janis and her staff made everything easy and it was just an incredibly low-stress part of our experience. We married on May 30, and the farm was gorgeous-everything was green and the weather was perfect. We added a moon bounce outside for the kids-so easy and we did the ceremony on the lawn of the big house.

From the moment we visited Rocklands Farm, we fell in love with it and knew it would be a perfect place for the one-of-a-kind venue we were looking for. We had both our ceremony and reception here. The outdoor space and grounds are just beautiful and having the reception inside the barn was perfect. We had so many guests compliment this beautiful venue and they could not stop talking about how impressed they were and what a gem it truly is. The wedding photos you will get from Rocklands are unbelievable - from the the colors of nature outside in the vineyard to the sparkly lights inside the barn - they will take your breath away. Even though our wedding was in August, the breeze that passed through the barn made it comfortable for guests. Janis is so warm and caring and willing to work with you, she's so gracious through the whole process. On top of it all, the wine is delicious! We became Cellar Club members so we could enjoy it every month now! Come to Rocklands, take a tour, meet Janis, and see for yourself, because words cannot due this venue justice. We had the most perfect day and we have Rocklands to thank for such an amazing place to have our wedding!

Rocklands Farm is the most beautiful wedding venue out there, I'm convinced. My husband and I had attended a concert there several years ago and never got it out of our heads. It was a no brainer for our wedding venue. Janis made the planning process very easy and has several vendors she works with seamlessly to create a wonderful experience. They are definitely more "laid back" than some wedding venues, but if you are a laid back bride like me, that is a good thing! Seeing everything come together for the ceremony and reception was amazing. Janis has so many wonderful decorations and items to place around the farm and everything looked amazing. People came up to us all night telling us how beautiful everything was. We even had a pack of piglets running around in the background of some of our pictures - doesn't get more rustic than that! We also served wine made on the farm and it was just delicious! I can't wait to share dates, anniversaries, and trips with our future children here.

Rocklands Farm is a treasure. My husband and I were thrilled to have Rocklands as our wedding venue. It's perfect for couples who love the outdoors, farms, and community. Everytime we visited leading up to our wedding, I just truly loved going there (even in the dead of winter!) Rocklands has an amazing cellar for cocktail hour that our guests adored. It's a venue where you can have lawn games and dancing in the barn. Janis goes above and beyond to make the barn look stunning. The twinkle lights, the quirkiness of the barn, we loved it. There's also beautiful green space and a fire pit.
Our ceremony had to be moved inside at the last minute because of a thunderstorm. Janis helped make sure things went as smoothly as possible, and in the chaos of re-arrangement that had to happen. Even though we didn't get married outside as we originally planned, getting married inside the barn was magical. Because the barn has these balconies, we had our family and friends on the balconies on the stairwell, and just surrounding us- it was extremely intimate. (It also created a lot of memories for family and friends!) janis is there to help you and is wonderfully patient and a calming presence.
We decided not to go with their approved caterer, HighPoint (we had some terrible conversations with them over the phone) and ended up going with a pizza food truck and Ridgewells for service. Janis was extremely patient in letting us work with the vendors we wanted.
We brought in restroom trailers and the closest hotel is quite far). The other issue with Rocklands location is that you cannot rent large buses because of the turn and bridge to get there. you can only do 30 person vans. We unfortunately found this out later in the game, and it was a bit of a scramble to find transportation because of prom season. But it's well worth the journey/trip. Skip the hotel wedding and use Rocklands. (Oh and don't use Chariots for Hire as your transport company!!).

We recently held our wedding, cocktail hour, and reception at Rocklands Farm in Maryland and we could not have been happier. The farm itself is stunning and made for the perfect location for our rustic themed wedding. Nearly all of our guests made it a point to tell us how beautiful the farm was. However, what makes this venue particularly wonderful are the people who own it. Since it is a family owned and run farm you feel like you are working with people who truly care about you and your event. Janis is a warm, friendly person as well as professional and makes it a point to ensure that everything is taken care of. Even if it means driving your grandmother from the ceremony site to the reception site because she has trouble walking. Janis goes above and beyond to make the day as smooth and wonderful as possible. You are also allowed to come back the next day to collect decorations and other items so you do not have to worry about cleaning up on your wedding day. There are so many positive things I can say about Rocklands Farm and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, rustic venue.

My wedding reception party at Rocklands Farm was everything I had hoped it would be. I had my heart set on having the party at a local farm with the reception being held indoors and outdoors. Because I did not need to have my ceremony that day (we eloped months ago), Janis was kind enough to let me borrow her backyard to host a little children's hour/ 1st birthday for my daughter prior to the cocktail hour. It was such a special day and my family and guests all had such a wonderful time. Form the rustic décor in the barn and outside, the bluegrass band playing outdoors, the farm animals that made a point of wandering over to the fence just for the children to visit (although that was not planned, but a coincidence), the bonfire for s'mores, and the Rocklands Winery wines we gave away as table prizes, everything was perfect. Even the rain stayed away! Janis was also able to recommend the caterer (High Point) and the resident florist, Anna (From Seed to Ceremony). I'm a very low-key party planner and everything came together fairly quickly and easily. I loved very minute of party and am so pleased we decided to host our reception here at Rocklands Farm. I highly recommend this venue!

Rockland Farms was the venue for my daughter's wedding. It was just what we wanted for this event, with many options to help make this the most special day for her and her husband. The farm is gorgeous and there are many places that the photographer used for pictures. There are several sites for an outdoor ceremony and they are all beautiful. The wine tasting area was perfect for our cocktail hour, nice and cool during the heat of June. The scenic patio gave the guests a lovely Maryland view to enjoy. The barn was absolutely perfect for dinner and the live band. There was plenty of space for eating, talking and dancing. I cannot say enough about how much fun our guests had on the big day!
The behind-the-scenes accommodations helped this event to run smoothly. We were able to go to the farm early to bring our decorations and to set up for the event. There are many props like chalkboards, baskets, shepherd's hooks... already there for us to use. Janis Glenn, the owner of Rocklands, was available via email and in person to walk us through the scenarios that we might encounter and to answer our many questions. She was present during the wedding to take care of those behind the scenes things like fans, turning on lights, making sure the outdoor bathroom was running. Using the farm's china and mason jars added to the charm of the tables. The bar facilities downstairs and in the main barn were authentic and very functional. Our floral needs were met by Janis' daughter-in-law, Anna. She made the most lovely bouquets, aisle arrangements and table decorations using many flowers grown on the farm. They were light and casual and exactly what we wanted to complete the decorations. Having the farm for the whole weekend made scheduling all of the deliveries and pick-ups easy. I highly recommend Rockland Farms to anyone who is looking for an outdoor/indoor Maryland venue for their event!

I can't begin to say how amazing Rocklands was for our wedding this past weekend. Rocklands was the only venue that we looked at- I found it online and when we went there to visit I knew it was the place right away that I wanted to get married. The outdoor space, the barn, and the wine room were all stunning.

Our wedding day was honestly saved by Janis. Our ceremony and dinner was going to be outside, but we were supposed to get thunderstorms. We set up dinner inside the barn. We moved our ceremony area to by the silo and fire pit just in case it started to rain, we could bring it inside quickly. The ceremony had a little thunder, but we squeezed it and all the family pictures in outside and got all guests into the wine tasting area with about 3 minutes to spare before the storm hit. There was a break in the rain, and Janis moved us all up into the barn before the next wave of rain came. The next wave of the storm hit and it was intense! The power popped off, but came right back on in about 2 seconds. The rain on the tin roof was loud but cool. It rained the rest of the night, but nobody cared because we were all dancing (our band Turtle Recall knocked it out of the park) and the fact that we didn't have a bonfire just kept everyone on the dance floor.

Because of Janis, the storm didn't stress me out, and it just added drama to the night. I'm sure it will be a wedding that none of our guests will forget. Lots of guests told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and people were raving about the farm.
If you have any doubts about Rocklands, please know that whatever happens with the weather, it is the perfect venue and choosing Rocklands was the best thing about our wedding.

Our wedding is still talked about to this day by all of our friends and family. We could not have had a better experience in a better location. Rocklands was a fabulous venue for my April wedding. Janis and her team were wonderful to work with -- they were flexible and able to meet our specific needs. Working with Rocklands was mostly stress-free, and we didn't get hit with any unexpected charges or restrictions.

It ended up sleeting on our wedding day, and, while we'd planned on an outdoor ceremony, we had to move it inside at the last minute. Rocklands helped make that a smooth transition, and the barn ended up being a great space.

Rocklands is a working farm, and there are some limitations that come with that. However, we absolutely loved the space, loved the pigs, loved working with Janis, and I'd highly recommend Rocklands as a wedding venue.

We could not have picked a better venue for ourselves! If you're looking for a relaxed, stress-free wedding WEEK, this place is it. Of corse this farm provides a beautiful backdrop, but what made Rocklands really stand out was Janice. Her excitement and attention to detail, as well as her hands on approach made everything seem much less stressful. Most venues give you a very limited time frame from start to finish, typically less than 8 hours. Janice gave us all the time we needed to make this the most enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and one that we will never forget. PS: ask about Anna's wild flowers! Beautiful!

We got married at Rocklands Farm with 175 guests and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. It's very much a family feel at Rocklands. Janis and her family live there and take pride in it and want to make sure you have the best experience possible. We loved that so many elements of the wedding were available or sourced right from the farm itself. Janis's daughter Anna did our flowers which were gorgeous and came primarily from on-property. Her family also recently opened a winery and we used the farm's wine for our dinner. The venue itself is naturally gorgeous, and they have a lot of props and decorations stored there which they let you use for free, which was great. We used High Point catering for our BBQ dinner, which I highly recommend, as they've worked extensively at Rocklands, they know the property well, and it just made it so low-stress. All around it was just a wonderful experience. One additional thing I'd add is that ours was a same-sex wedding, so it was important to us to have a wedding at a venue where we felt welcomed. Rocklands was perfect, and Janis and her family were warm and welcoming from the day we met them. A great venue with great people made for the best day of our lives.

A truly one-of-a-kind venue. My wife and I were married at Rockland Farms this past June. We are from Baltimore and were looking for a rustic farm-themed location to have our ceremony and reception and Rockland Farms was perfect.

The grounds are beautiful and spacious. We were able to have the ceremony behind the house, a cocktail hour with games in front of the house, the reception dinner in front of the barn, and dancing in the barn. Lots of space to work with and a lot of interesting areas for guests to explore (provided the weather is nice).

Janice was fantastic to work with. As her summary above mentions, she allows access to the farm the whole weekend, which limited much of the stress of decorating for us. She was very accommodating the day of as well, allowing use of the farm's utility vehicle to haul chairs, and providing some logistical suggestions that we implemented and were so thankful for.

Our only disappointment in the venue was that the beautiful tree in the backyard under which we were hoping to have the ceremony had been cut down. We were told that it had been struck by lightning a few years ago. Other than that, we were so very pleased with everything!

I fell in love with rocklands farm! I had my ceremony and reception in the restored barn and it was so much better than anything I could have dreamt up. I was speechless when I walked into my ceremony space and saw the stunning wildflower centerpieces created by the Rocklands florist. The warm rustic atmosphere is perfect if you're looking for a relaxed and intimate venue. We had 100 guests and they fit very comfortably. In addition to the venue being charming and beautiful, we were given access to the barn from Thursday to Monday so decorating and meeting with vendors was never a problem. I never once felt pressured or rushed. I highly recommend visiting the farm, especially on Saturday when their farmers market is open! Everyone is so laid back and willing to help answer your questions.

Rocklands was the perfect wedding venue for us. We knew we wanted to get married at a winery and/or farm, and stumbled upon Rocklands online. It is such a beautiful venue, and what is nice about them is that you are the only wedding booked all weekend. So, you can drop supplies, decorations, etc. off on Thursday, have your rehearsal and setup on Friday, wedding Saturday, then come back and pick up all of your stuff on Sunday. This made my life SO much easier. Janis was always quick to respond to emails and she was an incredible help on the day of the wedding. She worked with our caterer/event planner and took care of everything so I could relax and enjoy the day. Our friends and family commented multiple times on how beautiful the venue was. We originally planned for an outdoor ceremony but due to weather we moved it into the barn, which turned out to be even more beautiful. I'm so happy we found this place!

This gem, located in Montgomery county, Maryland, was the perfect place in the Washington, DC region to have our wedding. We loved everything about it. The owner, Janis, was exceptionally kind & helpful to make sure we were happy. We will be going back to enjoy a Saturday with our friends and sample some more of the wines & eat a farm to table fresh lunch. The grounds are also well maintained and it is just beautiful.

Rocklands Farm is the perfect venue if you are looking for a rustic farm wedding. They have everything you need from quilts, to mason jars, and even the livestock. We held our ceremony outside with 55 guests then walked over to the barn for the reception. Anna did a great job with the flowers picking just the right colors and flowers. Janis was amazing at answering all the questions and making sure I was relaxed the day off. They worked very well with our caterers and other vendors. You can not go wrong having you wedding at Rocklands.

I wholeheartedly recommend Rocklands to anyone looking for a rustic, beautiful venue, especially if you want to be able to add DIY elements to your celebration. When we began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a venue that could host both the ceremony and reception and would be flexible about letting us bring in our own alcohol. I hoped to find a place that would be unique and warm and welcoming but thought that our budget would probably limit our choices and force us to settle for something ho-hum. As it turns out, we hit the wedding venue lottery. When we turned into the driveway at Rocklands the first time we visited the farm, I knew it was where I wanted to get married.

The property itself is beautiful and charming, with multiple locations for ceremony, cocktails, lawn games, a dining tent, dancing, or anything else you want. Beyond that, Janis was simply wonderful throughout the process, from reassuring me about weather plans to suggesting small decorating touches to opening up her storeroom and her property to us for whatever we wanted to use for decorations. She also recommended a caterer to help us come up with a simple, reasonably-priced and delicious dinner menu that I'm still getting compliments on, months later.

We were also fortunate to be able to use Anna, Janis' daughter-in-law and co-manager of the farm, as our florist. She used flowers and grasses grown on the farm to create beautiful arrangements for us and had wonderful ideas when I didn't have any clear vision for what I wanted the flowers to look like. She even designed a custom boutonniere for my husband, incorporating a figurine of his favorite super hero. We were thrilled with the gorgeous centerpieces, bouquets, and arrangements she came up with.

Rocklands allowed us to have exactly the warm, welcoming, FUN celebration we wanted, and to do it within our budget. I wouldn't hesitate to have another event there.

Rocklands is the most beautiful place for a wedding. Growing up knowing the farm, I had always dreamed of having my wedding there. Janis was so helpful and made all of the preparations so easy. We were married in the barn which was decorated with hanging lights inside. The farm grounds are also breathtaking-- lots of rolling hills and big old trees, refurbished rustic buildings, and beautiful gardens. It made for a beautiful, unique and truly fun wedding!

Working with Rocklands was such a dream! The historic property is beautifully maintained and they just keep improving the buildings and grounds. Janis (our venue coordinator) was always helpful and accommodating and responded quickly to phone and email. She had lots of great suggestions for how to bring out the best in the venue and gave us key contacts with local vendors (caterers, rentals, etc.) that work with the farm regularly and were reliable and affordable.

Everything about our time on the farm was beautiful. It's such a versatile venue, and so many of our guests came up and told us how amazing everything was -- from cocktail hour in the vineyard, to dinner in the backyard, to dancing in the barn. And because Rocklands doesn't double-book, we were able to do all our set up on Friday which meant all the little details got attended to in good time and the day of the wedding felt relaxed and happy.

Overall, it was an amazing experience working with Rocklands and I highly recommend this place!

I was looking for a rustic venue for my wedding reception and Rocklands Farm was the perfect place! The barn is gorgeous. Janis was so easy to work with and willing to go above and beyond to help us throughout our planning and the day of the wedding. When people see my wedding pictures, everyone wants to know where I got married! Rocklands Farm is the best kept secret in the area!

The team at Rocklands were enormously friendly, accommodating and worked really hard to make sure the venue looked spectacular on our budget. They were great at taking the initiative, anticipating issues with our chosen vendors without being interfering. They really got into the spirit of things and acted as though our special day was also a special day for them and the farm. Our guests raved about the venue afterwards. We had goosebumps the first time we looked round at the farm 3 months before our Reception, and were totally thrilled with the fun we and 100 guests had that night.

I recently had my wedding at Rocklands Farm on October 5th, 2013. My husband and I were so in love with everything about the property . The owner, Janis is probably one of the most nicest person I have ever met.

Janice was very responsive , every time I had a question she would reply right away, she allowed me to come by whenever I needed to.

I would definately recommend Rocklands Farm to anyone and everyone!

To say that Janis and Rocklands Farm was an answer to many prayers is an understatement. We had to plan our daughter's wedding with very little time to spare as she and her betrothed are both officers in the Navy. Janis provided the most perfect venue with more grace and poise than I have ever seen. She made all of my daughter's dreams come true! We had a huge 200 person military wedding and I'd do it again tomorrow if I could. The best part is how flexible both the proprietors and the property are. We had the ceremony behind the house under the gorgeous oak tree, the cocktail hour on the front lawn complete with lawn games, the reception was tented by the fire pit and the dancing and cake cutting were in the barn. Not to mention the bride and groom were able to wave to everyone and kiss up on the "Wedding Walk" on the roof of the beautiful historic home during the cocktail hour and came down the front steps onto the lawn to be introduced through the traditional Navy Sword Arch. Our photos and memories are priceless! Thank you Janis for calmly getting us through all of this with joy!

The barn is beautiful and strung with tiny lights. It's very authentic with a beautiful view out the window. There is a great sound system. Janis, the owner provided multiple golf umbrellas as it rained the evening of our event. Janis was available the entire night. She put our left over food in the refrigerator so it wouldn't spoil. She thought of the things that I didn't and was right there to help. It was a perfect event and she made me as the planner look good!

Janis was absolutely wonderful as well as everyone else there at the farm. She went above and beyond to make a rainy, muddy weekend into the most beautiful wedding. Anna did an amazing job on the flowers as well. They were exactly what we wanted. Everything was perfect. We would wholeheartedly recommend Rocklands Farm. Can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else.

This venue (and the family behind it) was incredible! We felt completely at home on our wedding day. They allowed us plenty of time to prepare/set-up so that we could relax and enjoy our big day. Rocklands is also extraordinarily flexible, as they do their best to make your day exactly how you want it. Bonus: The property is unbelievably beautiful!!!

The site is absolutely beautiful- a real working farm with authentic old buildings and surrounded by quiet woods and fields. Makes for a breathtaking backdrop for pictures. We were able to customize everything to our liking- we had our own flowers, ringbearers pulling a wagon, a ladies bridal tea the day before, dancing in the barn, and a moonbounce (not for everyone but great for us!). The vast property allows for all different sizes and set ups and the ability to make it your own. Janis and team bend over backwards to make sure that your wedding dreams come true and have a great catalog of ideas for decorations, set up and flow. Thank you for such wonderful memories!

Rocklands Farm is an amazing wedding venue! The owner Janis, was extremely helpful and willing do pretty much anything to help make my day perfect. They have tons of chalkboards and decorations that you are free to use, which was a huge help. I didn't buy one single decoration for my wedding! If I could go back and do it over again, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Rocklands Farm was an amazing wedding venue for my wife and my wedding. Everything about the site itself is great, and Janis, the woman who coordinates events at the farm is a great lady, who was immensely helpful and warm.
