Excellent Celestial Cakes!

I sincerely applaud Ashley Wilson with the Papa Hadyn Buttercream Line for her excellent communication in answering our questions leading up to crafting our celestial watercolor cakes with Stargate toppers. They were a gem at our wedding.

One of the highlights of our wedding

We are so happy we decided to go with Papa Haydn for our wedding! Ashley designed our cake exactly to our vision and EVEN BETTER than we ever could have expected. We thought the cake was delicious at our tasting, but the wedding day absolutely knocked our socks off. After our tasting, we loved the flavors but wanted more of a berry vibe, and she suggested two flavors—chocolate ganache with fresh raspberries, and lemon curd with huckleberry compote, both frosted with buttercream. She was even able to accommodate our vegan and gluten-free guests with mini cakes on the side. Sooooo good! Thank you guys for making our day perfect!

Never Ceases To Amaze

Papa Haydn never ceases to amaze our taste buds! We knew when we got engaged that we had to get our wedding cake through them and they did not disappoint! The flavors were fantastic as well as the presentation!

Excellent Service!

Papa Haydn has always been one of our favorites! Our wedding cake was the raspberry poppy seed and it was amazing! Ashley Wilson, the cake designer, was flexible and very accommodating. Great communication on design and pick up. Our cake turned out perfect.

Easy and delicious!

I loved that we were able to work with Ashley over email throughout the cake design process! She was able to prep a tasting box of the different flavors we were interested in so we could try them on our own time (organizing a time to meet during business hours when both of you work full-time = extremely difficult). And the cake was of course delicious! We highly recommend them!

We have nothing but great things to say about Ashley and the amazing cake she provided for our wedding. We had a very specific vision in mind and had been discouraged or flat out told no by several other shops in town. Ashley never once said it was impossible, walked us through the steps she would need to take to provide us the cake and offered suggestions to help enhance what we envisioned . The whole process was amazing and we look forward to many more cakes from Ashly and Papa Haydn's for years to come.

Ashley is incredible. We had a bad experience with a bakery before finding her, so we were really nervous to meet her. She arranged a beautiful tasting for us and helped us pick flavors and how much cake we needed. Day of, our cake was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we had discussed. Hands down, we got the most compliments on our cake. Pretty much EVERY person at our wedding told us how amazing the cake was. We provided to-go boxes and I was glad we had snagged some for ourselves because ALL of it was taken. All of this and we get an anniversary cake, which we have already talked about multiple times!! THANK YOU to Ashley for making our vision come true.

Our wedding cake from Ashley at Papa Haydn was beautiful and delicious! Ashley was wonderful to work with and made sure we would be happy with the final result. She made us a beautiful four tiered cake with gold foil. We went with two different flavors— chocolate for two tiers and vanilla with lemon curd for the other two tiers. Also noteworthy is you get a free anniversary cake! You don’t have to save or freeze part of your wedding cake for your first anniversary. They make you a fresh one instead. We thought this was very thoughtful and a nice point of difference from other bakeries. Thank you Ashley and Papa Haydn! We loved our cake and so did our guests!

I am so, so happy we got our wedding cake through Ashley at Papa Haydn! People are still telling us we had the best wedding cake they've ever tasted. We had one two-tiered cutting cake and some additional rounds. The cakes were frosted and arranged so beautifully, our cake table looked like it came straight out of a bridal magazine. From the initial tasting to the wedding, working with Ashley was a pleasure. We are very much looking forward to picking up our complimentary anniversary cake next year (how awesome is that!?)!

Nothing negative to say! Working with Ashley was a breeze, she was attentive to our vision and helped guide is the right direction for what would work for us and our budget. She was also incredibly helpful in figuring out what would work best for decor and styling with the cakes we had chosen. We both love Papa Haydn desserts so much that we special ordered several of their menu classics, along with an simple and elegant cutting cake for my husband and I. You can't go wrong with Papa Haydn!

My (now) husband and I booked an appointment with Ashley at Papa Haydn East for a wedding cake tasting thinking there was no way we could afford one of their famously beautiful and delicious wedding cakes, but at least we’d get some free cake! The cake was of course to die for (banana cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting is the flavor I never knew my life was missing), but what really blew us away was Ashley’s expertise. We came in thinking we’d ask for a quote on cupcakes and a small cutting cake to save money, but Ashley suggested making our dollars stretch further by having three separate “side cakes” instead, each in a different flavor, a different buttercream texture on the outside, and fresh flowers on top. She sketched out a mock-up of what it would look like, assuring us it would be unexpected and dramatic and IT WAS! We actually went under budget for our wedding cake, and it was everything we could have dreamed of and more. When the cakes were delivered the day of the wedding (the Sunday before Labor Day), we didn’t even see the wonderful person who set everything up and placed our cake topper just right. Our guests loved it, we even got to eat some at the wedding, and we kept on eating it for the next two days before leaving for the honeymoon! Now all that’s left is to decide what flavor to order for our complimentary first anniversary cake… that might be the toughest obstacle of our marriage so far.

I thought we would have extra wedding cake, but everyone loved it so much that it was gone! Ashley was so great to work with, extremely patient and super helpful. I'm so happy to have chosen papa haydn!

I loved working with Ashley! She was always super responsive and helped me several times with the design since I wasn't sure what I wanted. I went with buttercream since I had heard that fondant didn't taste great and it cost more and it still looked (and tasted) amazing the day of! I highly recommend!

I don't have a single negative thing to say about our wedding cake from Papa Haydn. Everything about it was absolutely perfect, from the appearance to the taste and texture. It looked gorgeous, exactly what I had wanted. Ashley was fantastic and very accommodating with our vision. We wanted 4 flavors, with enough of each flavor to not run out of any. We ended up with 230 servings of cake for 110 guests, and allowed guests to take pieces home and we still only had about 4 pieces left for us to take home ourselves. Everyone said how good it was, even those who usually aren't "cake people". The price was on par with every other bakery we looked at, even though the quality was far better. We can't wait for our anniversary cake in a year! I'll be recommending Papa Haydn to everyone.

We loved working with Ashley at Papa Haydn. I can honestly say now that the planning is over our favorite part of the entire process, except the actual wedding day, was the cake tasting. She made us feel so comfortable and took her time asking us about our day and what we wanted in our cake. I cannot tell you how many compliments we got on the cake. So many people told us how delicious and my husband and I almost couldn't stop eating it at the wedding. We took home our cutting cake and ate it with friends and family the next day and it was so delicious. They were professional, on time, and efficient, and the pricing can't be beat in Portland. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be ordering cakes from Papa Haydn again soon.

We had Ashley make/decorate our cake, and it was just incredible!! I decided to order an extra side cake, as I anticipated my hubby and I would be too busy at the reception to enjoy Ashley' s cake, and that turned out to be an excellent idea. We didn't get anymore than the bite we fed each other, so I was glad to have the side cake to enjoy for the few days we spent at the coast after the wedding. We had the cassata cake, was a little like tiramisu, wow was it wonderful!! And it looked beautiful!! I couldn't be happier!

We had a fantastic experience with Ashley from start to finish! When we first saw that Papa Haydn made wedding cakes, it seemed too good to be true! We thought it would be outside our budget but we were so wrong! Compared to other wedding cake bakeries the price is competitive (and the clear winner). We decided to get a 3 tier cake and mini desserts to accompany the cake. Everything tasted beyond fantastic! At the wedding, the cake looked exactly how I pictured it. Ashley was wonderful to work with-always friendly, responsive and open to whatever we wanted. We recommended Papa Haydn whole heartedly! Thank you Ashley! :)

Chef Ashley at Papa Haydn was so fantastic! She worked with my husband and I to create the wedding cake of our dreams, a four layer hexagon cake with the most beautiful piping and floral accents. We met her for a cake tasting about six months before our wedding and she was patient, full of ideas and even willing to create a custom flavor for one of the layers (coconut cardamom to honor our roots!) She was very responsive through out the whole process, especially the week before the wedding for all of our last minute questions. The cake was gorgeous and delicious! She also did our desserts, which our guests loved. Overall a really lovely experience and we are also so excited to get our complimentary anniversary cake :)

Ashley from Papa Haydn was AMAZING. The cake a beautifully simple with flowers provided by our florist. Ashley personally delivered our cake so she could place the flowers. The cake was gorgeous, but more importantly, it was delicious! The guests raved about it. We are so pleased with our experience with Papa Haydn and would highly recommend them for wedding cakes.

I almost didn’t consider Papa Haydn for a wedding cake because I thought it would be too expensive. But what do you know, it actually cost less than other places I checked out! Ashley did AMAZING work, I was floored by the beauty of our cake. We had 3 different flavors, 1 for each tier, and they were so moist and tasty. We had so many compliments on it.

We had 120 people confirmed for our wedding and bought cake for 120. About 115 people showed up for our wedding and we almost ran out of cake people loved it som uch! you never hear about a wedding running out of cake! We bought 8 individual cakes of different flavors from papa haydn and everyone loved them. Ashley the pastry chef was amazing to work with as well, it was a great value, and I had an amazingly beautiful dessert table!

After attending a tasting at a less fancy bakery in town, but finding the cake subpar, we decided to give Papa Haydn a try. As it turns out, the price per serving was less than the first bakery, and all the cakes, fillings, and frostings were delicious! We ended up ordering four cakes from Papa Haydn, one tiered traditional wedding cake, a large chocolate layer cake, and small vegan and gluten-free cakes for our guests with dietary restrictions. They all met with rave reviews. Ashley decorated the cakes with leftover flowers from our flower-arranging session the day before: I could not believe how beautiful she made the cast-off flowers look. We cannot wait for our anniversary cake!

Absolutely beautiful cake and cupcakes!!! Ashley was lovely to work with and gave us great suggestions/ideas for our cake design. I'd also highly recommend getting the added option to have them set up the dessert/cake table, because they set ours up perfectly! We couldn't be happier with their service!

We didn't think that we would be able to have a Papa Haydn's cake at our wedding due to cost but after going for a tasting and comparing to other higher end bakeries, the price was comparable and we were thrilled to have their cake at our wedding!

Ashley did an AMAZING job of bringing our vision to life and BEYOND! We had a traditional wedding cake and a Snoopy groom's cake and the groom's cake far exceeded our hopes! The cake was not only beautiful but SO delicious! Every bite is a little slice of pure enjoyment... and when it's gone, you long for more cake!

The cake delivery was prompt and it was all ready well in advance of our ceremony.

My daughters cake was stunning and gluten free as we needed. The cupcakes were absolutely beautiful but above all else everything was so fresh !!! Ashley was beyond helpful, personally came to our venue and set everything up. It was more than we could ever hope for!!! PERFECT!!!

Best cake ever! Until my own wedding, I had never been to a wedding where the cake was actually "good." My idea of a good cake is not having to slop off a pound of frosting. It was important to me that our food was fantastic & Ashley at Papa Haydn did not disappoint! The cake was elegant & simple but most importantly it was phenomenally tasty. They delivered the cake on time & it looked fabulous. One of my friends commented the frosting was so smooth & perfect she couldn't believe it was a real cake. We had absolutely no cake left because our guests kept asking if they could just have "a little more." It was delicious & perfect. The flavors are excellent & Ashley had some great ideas. She really helped us when we had no clue what kind of cake we wanted. Papa Haydn even got us real fresh flowers for decorations & were most helpful in giving us a guide on how to cut the cake. We're looking forward to our anniversary cake. The tradition of freezing part of your cake kind of grosses me out (freezer burn, yummy?? lol) so the anniversary cake is such an awesome idea to me. Can't recommend Ashley & Papa Haydn enough. As soon as we started telling people we were getting our cake from Papa Haydn, they couldn't contain their excitement! The cake was also really affordable as well. Our guests couldn't believe the price for such a beautiful & scrumptious cake!

Ashley made this process so easy and amazing, from beginning to end. Our initial meeting she gave ideas and listened to mine attentively. She was professional and followed through with setup on the day of the wedding perfectly. Guests raved about the flavors… poppyseed naked cake with vanilla layer and strawberry cream cheese layer with different berries folded in. She'll even make us a small version on our 1st anniversary. Go with them, you will love it!

We selected Papa Haydn's to create our wedding cake after being so pleasantly surprised by their pricing (we never thought we could afford such a delicious place!) and tasting their incredible cake. I am gluten-free but my husband is not, so we wanted to find a place that could create something everyone could enjoy. Our cake was so beautiful, we were asked several times if it was fake! The cake was delicious, gorgeous, and the three flavors of cupcakes for our guests were divine. I can't wait for our one year anniversary to get my hands on some more of these delicious desserts! I HIGHLY recommend you select Papa Haydn for your wedding or next event!

After going to two different bakeries who couldn't make my design, I found Ashley. I worked with Ashley to create my dream cake. She didn't hesitate when I showed her what I wanted. The cake design turned out just like I requested. The flavor of the cake turned out better than I ever imagined. No other bakery I went to was willing to use fresh fruit. I was able to get chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and lemon cake with fresh raspberries. I have no idea how she made the cake so delicious, all I know is I will be getting all my cakes from Papa Haydn. I was hesitant to use this bakery thinking they were more costly than the others I had in mind. The reality is Papa Haydn was less expensive. I can't speak highly enough about Ashley and her talents. Choose this bakery and your guest will be eating the best cake they've ever had (at least that's what our guests said).

We had a fun Tim Burton inspired wedding and were so pleased with how the cake turned out. There were so many comments about how beautiful it was (some thought it was a decoration), and it tasted wonderful!

I tasted over 15 (that's right, over 15!) Portland-area wedding cake companies. Ashley with Papa Haydn was the golden ticket! Not only is Ashley incredibly flexible, prompt to respond, and super helpful, but she also is really creative and made our vision a reality. We did a 3 tiered cake with a different flavor for each tier, and then she worked with our florist to add roses and our wedding monogram to tie it all together with our design. The cake was SO GOOD and we received so many compliments - and still do almost a year later - that it was the best cake guests had ever had at a wedding. I can't wait to order our complimentary 1 year anniversary cake! Papa Haydn does a fantastic job and I recommend them over any Portland bakery!

Can I eat my cake all over again? Yes, I can! 1 year from my wedding I get a free mini cake for our anniversary. Yes, that's how delicious this cake was--I'm already waiting for that next bite in a year.... And not just delicious (poppyseed and cream with strawberries for filling in one layer and lemon chiffon for the top layer) the cake was beautifully decorated similar to a photo I had provided. Ashley and her team at Papa Haydn did an amazing job. Please don't cheat yourself by not taste testing here--the cakes are beautiful, delicious, and compared well in price to the other bakeries we checked out (while tasting much better!).

Having Papa Haydn make our wedding cake was the easiest decision, and the first one checked off our list! Ashley was wonderful to work with, very professional, and she did an incredible job at bringing our visions to life. It was important to us that the majority of our desserts be gluten free, and Ashley was able to give us a variety of selections to choose from. Our 3 tiered cake and miniature side desserts looked incredible and were delicious! Guests were shocked when they found out the chocolate cake and mini tartlets were actually gluten free, and everything was gone within minutes. We are now looking forward to our "first anniversary" cake, to enjoy it once again! We absolutely recommend Papa Haydn!

I've always enjoyed Papa Haydn's desserts so I was happy to find out they did wedding cakes as well! They were by far the cheapest that we looked at but you would never know it by looking at the beautiful cakes they make. Best part is you get a free mini cake on your anniversary so you don't have to worry about freezing the top. Our cake was just as delicious on the wedding day as it was at the tasting and looked exactly like we asked.

Our wedding cakes were grand, beautiful, delicious, and a fun experience! We have a 3 tiered center cake with 6 sides, each with different butter cream textures. It was more than I could have asked for and the whole experience was great starting with the tasting!

Ashley was so great to work with when we were in desperate need of a last minute wedding cake! Ashley (pastry chef extraordinaire) and her team at Papa Haydn were fabulous! My daughter showed Ashley a gorgeous pink fondant covered wedding cake design from a wedding magazine and Ashley re-created it perfectly and with a couple gorgeous additions to put her own spin on it. It was absolutely breathtaking to see it taking a center-stage spot at the Treasury Ballroom and the guests all remarked on how beautiful it was. At the last minute we had Ashley make gumpaste flowers (instead of using fresh) and she was so flexible and eager to please. They looked amazing. The fondant was delicious (not chewy and gummy like many other fondants we had tasted). The 4 flavors in the cake were amazing. The cake was moist and full of flavor. Ashley was so sweet to work with and had great suggestions. Being Papa Haydn with their reputation as being one of Portland's premiere pastry restaurants, you would think that the cake would have been close to $1000, but it wasn't. The price was reasonable and comparable to other bakeries who wouldn't have come close to re-creating the gorgeous design. Thank you Papa Haydn, and especially Ashley for making the day a memorable one. You are so talented! We will recommend you to everyone! The cake was delivered on time, looked stunning, and was delicious! We ordered the chocolate ganache (super decadent), tirimisu and a light poppyseed raspberry. I was super impressed with the way they listened to what I wanted and delivered! Plus, they give you a free one year anniversary cake so you don't have to save the top of your cake... you just call in in a year, order what you want, and pick it up! I have never had a wedding cake that I thought was delicious ... until now. We chose a chocolate wedding cake with white chocolate mint mousse filling (4-tier) and chocolate ganache frosting with chocolate fondant designs. Moist, fabulous, and beautifully decorated. They have a new wedding cake baker/decorator, Ashley, who matches and possibly exceeds the previous one we had initially had a tasting with. Hands down the best of the 5 bakeries we tested.

Kristina did a beautiful cake for us. She was very knowledgeable during our tasting, and was able to take a photo of a cake I found online, make a few suggestions, and turn it into a far more elegant and beautiful design than I had even imagined.

The cake was also delicious - we were able to choose a different flavor/filling for each of the four layers, all of which were moist, light, and delicious. They also give you a free anniversary cake, so you don't have to freeze the top layer for a year.

I would recommend all the flavors, but especially the lemon chiffon (we filled ours with mango curd) and the triple chocolate (with raspberry cream cheese).

Unbelievably amazing! We had hired to Papa Haydn to make our gluten-free wedding cakes and had no doubt that they would be amazing. Roughly six weeks before our wedding our original caterer informed us that they couldn't provide the gluten-free desserts we needed for our dessert reception (*gasp*). I contacted Kristina at Papa Haydn on the verge of hysterics and she rushed in like a superhero and made the most phenomenal desserts we could have asked for. The desserts were unbelievable (people are still talking about them), the wedding cakes were exquisite, and the price was less expensive than most caterers we looked into. You can't go wrong with Papa Haydn for cakes or catering!

Because I'm a pastry chef, I had high expectations when it came to the wedding cake. Shortly after we got engaged, my husband and I came up with a list of five things that were non-negotiable. The wedding cake was part of that list. Rather than make the cake myself, I sought out Kristina at Papa Haydn because of her reputation, and because of the bakery's cake flavor offerings (they were compatible with Marc and mine's tastes). Kristina was gracious to create Papa Haydn's off-season spice cake with ginger mousse filling cake as one of our tiers! That made both of us really happy.

It took me awhile before I had a cohesive idea as to what I wanted the cake to look like. Designing it was probably the hardest part - though don't take that to mean it was difficult; it just wasn't as easy as picking out the flavors. I didn't want the cake design to be overwhelming for her, but I didn't want just a plain, white cake either. Our wedding wasn't traditional - we incorporated a lot of each other's personalities into the mix; - the cake design needed to match the feel of the event. Kristina was kind enough to write down everything that I thought up during our initial meeting, and then we worked out the finer details two weeks before the wedding. Having four months to think about the cake here or there was really valuable; and in the end, our wedding cake looked and tasted amazing!

Professional and easy to work with. They were able to provide our dream menu, work with our special ideas and (most important) work within our budget. They worked with us not just on the food, but also on our entire setup to make sure we maximized our wedding experience. Don't think they are too spendy for your. Papa Haydn's provided a served meal with top notch passed hors d'oeuvres while maintaining our meager budget. If that wasn't enough, many guests told us that it was the best food they had ever eaten.

Perfection! I've wanted a Papa Haydn wedding cake for as long as I can remember and I was not disappointed! I gave them a sketch of what I wanted my hexagonal cake to look like and it came out beautifully! I could not have asked for more. What's more, I looked at several other bakeries in the area and found that Papa Haydn's prices were comparable, as their other bakeries would have charged extra for the decorations that I requested. I was delighted to find that Papa Haydn did charge for basic decorations, but rather included it in the initial per slice cost. Plus, it was delicious.

Working with Papa Hayden for the cake was probably the best decision for that option around. We met with them first, and did not really understand the process of picking a cake, which is a good thing. I know that they are not the cheapest, but the quality for the price is unbeatable. They really set the bar for us to even know what to ask. Dil was excellent to work with, they tailored the cake to exactly what we wanted - even requesting a different decoration than they had in the book they did not even bat an eye to our requests. It was PERFECT. We went there and then went 3 other places, and hands down there was no comparison. The delivery was smooth and easy and the cake was unbelievable.

We wanted a cake that tasted good but that also look good as well. Good thing Papa Haydn can do both. We were not going to go with them originally because for some reason we thought they would be out of our budget but they are very reasonable and they do free tastings (even though the tastings are really small bites). And you can't beat the tastes of their cakes, it just melts in your mouth. We still have guests telling us how good the cake was. And they will remake the top tier of the cake for your 1st anniversary so no need to keep the top tier in your freezer for a year.

Papa Haydn did an amazing job on our cakes. We had a tiered Cassata cake, Chocolate Buttermilk and Lemon Chiffon side cakes and all were delicious as well as beautiful!! The consultation and cake testing with the baker was very helpful. The baker collected fresh ingredients (local marionberries) and flowers to create exactly what I wanted. It was a great experience and I highly recommend them.

Papa Haydn made picking our wedding cake so easy. We did a tasting several months ago, and of course my entire family wanted to go (everyone is suddenly interested in wedding planning when there's cake involved!) They were very accommodating to such a large group and Ashley really helped us look at our options and decide what would be best for us and what flavors go together best, without being too pushy. We love the desserts at Papa Haydn and when we did the cake tasting with them, we knew we had to order our wedding cake through them. We had three different flavors and each one was delicious. The best cakes!

I love Papa Haydns, their desserts are beautiful and delicious! When I found out what an amazing deal their wedding cakes are, plus you get an anniversary cake - I was sold. I could feel tears come to my eyes when I saw how beautiful our wedding cakes were. They were the cakes I dreamed of having at my wedding. They also tasted amazing! We got three 9” round cakes in three different flavors - vanilla cake with lemon mouse and fresh berries (my fav), chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and German filling, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (his fav). I highly recommend their cakes! Also, an interesting tip I learned for a couple on a budget - the portion size that a bakery says a cake is and the size the venue cuts it too don’t always match up. Venues often cut smaller portions because they know that people are full from dinner and don’t want big slices. Everyone kept going back for more cake to taste all three flavors at our wedding and we were still left with a ton of left over cake (not complaining though cause it was awesome to have some the next day!)

Ashley and Papa Haydn were amazing! Papa Haydn has been my favorite dessert spot for years, but I never thought I would be able to afford them for my wedding cake. Imagine my surprise when they were not only affordable, but the cheapest quote I received! The reason for the great rate? I wanted a "semi-naked" style cake, with limited icing on the outside. Ashley immediately told me this would be much easier for her to make and gave me a large price reduction since it would take her less time to make. No other vendor adjusted their price based off the style of cake I wanted. We had a three tiered cake with two side cakes. Each tier was a different delicious flavor and the side cakes were a fourth flavor. The cake looked as great as it tasted. On top of all that, we get a free cake on our first anniversary. What's not to love!

We chose Papa Haydn because it is our favourite dessert place. We go on Valentines Day and after every anniversary dinner. We're never let down.

Papa Haydn did a great job working with us. We changed the design of the cake a little late in the game and they had no problem accommodating the changes!

Our cake was perfect! The colours were spot on and the design was everything we had hoped for. It was so beautiful I didn't even want to eat it!

They made two cakes for us and one was pretty good and the other was spectacular. The spectacular one was a custom cake I designed. I also provided some decoration for the cake and they were very accomodating. They did an amazing job. As for the other one, I asked them to recreate a cake from a photograph and some of the colors were a little off but the cake still looked fine. Both cakes were delicious. I found the prices here very reasonable and competitive.

Delicious and Beautiful

Papa Haydn has been a favorite dessert spot of mine for special occasions since I was a kid. I was excited to have them cater the desserts for our wedding and they did a fabulous job. We did a small lemon vanilla cake with lemon curd to cut and then an assortment of mini desserts including the chocolate bourbon balls, strawberry champagne cut cakes, and lemon and huckleberry mini tarts. Everything was so beautiful and so delicious. The pastry team works different hours than the restaurant so be aware of that when communicating but they did an amazing job and we and our guests were so impressed with the results.

Beautiful and Delicious!

The high quality and delicious cakes from Papa Haydn were the perfect treat to share with our guests on our wedding day! It can be difficult to connect with cake department, however the end result is always worth it! They were also generous enough to offer a complimentary anniversary cake so for our first anniversary we will get to enjoy and experience the same moment we had at our wedding.

Our cake was perfect! It looked exactly like the photo we provided, and all the different cake layers were delicious!!! We made specific requests for the flavors and fillings for each tier and each one came out perfect! The only bummer is the steep delivery fee for venues outside Portland. Our delivery fee was more than half of the price of the cake itself! But we still wouldn't go with a cake from anywhere else because it was that good!

Our experience with Papa Haydn was excellent! The cake was not only beautiful but it was delicious! Our guests loved every morsel! The staff was professional and courteous and the cake tasting was a blast! The cake was transported almost 3 hrs to the reception site and it looked fabulous! We would highly recommend Papa Haydn.

I'm not sure you could ever go wrong going with the best cakes in town. Ashley was amazing to work with! She catered to our needs, answered every email I ever sent and was super sweet and patient! My bridesmaids had the leftover cake for breakfast...the guests ate cake all night. It was the perfect choice. I'd also say that for anyone who is worried Papa Haydn is pricey, I actually shopped around a lot and it was one of the best prices in town when you consider quality as well. Go for Papa Haydn!

I ordered both a bridal shower cake and wedding cake from here. The cake flavors are really good - not overly sweet the way a lot of cakes are, and their decorations are elegant and sophisticated. For being a higher-end dessert shop, their prices were also very reasonable, and on the lower end of many of the places we visited.

We had our wedding cake made by papa haydn this summer and it was marvelous. We loved the cake tasting part of it, as I’m sure anyone would love that. Our favorite was the lemon chiffon and the champagne with orange blossom butter cream so we chose those to be the tiers of our cake. The cake had received so many compliments from the guest and it truly looked just how we had wanted our wedding cake to look. Simple and elegant. Adding our custom cake topper made it over the top amazing. Overall I was very happy with the service I was provided. However it was quite hard to get a hold of the cake department at papa haydn. With that aside, it would be glad to recommend them.

We had two different flavors of cake, both of which were delicious and everyone loved them both. Our cake was also really beautifully done and they worked directly with our florist to decorate it with fresh flowers, which was very nice. They have some AMAZING flavors of cake over at Papa Haydn and any one of them would've been a big hit, but I have to say, at our tasting the cakes that we tried had a terrific butter cream frosting that we were told would cover the cake but the cake that we had at our wedding definitely did not have that same high quality butter cream frosting on the outside, which was honestly a little disappointing. There was also a shift in baking personnel between the time that we booked them and when we went back to finalize details and the new staff seemed a little more brusk, but maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Nevertheless, the cake was beautiful and so delicious, and a relatively great value.
