Best wedding venue ever!

Overlook Barn was the wedding venue of our dreams! Set on Beech Mountain, the views — especially from Mary’s Meadow, where we had our ceremony — were absolutely breathtaking. The beautifully refurbished horse barn added the perfect rustic charm, and we were able to truly make the reception space our own with florals and personal touches. It’s a venue that can bring any vision to life.

The day-of coordinators were phenomenal — incredibly professional, organized, and supportive. Even our wedding planner couldn’t stop praising how seamless and helpful they were throughout the entire day.

One of the highlights was their recommended vendor list — every vendor we chose was top-tier. Our caterer was phenomenal, and our florist brought the space to life in the most stunning way. Guests are still telling us it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever attended!

There were no hidden fees, no surprises — just a clean, professional, and personalized experience from start to finish. We wholeheartedly recommend Overlook Barn to any couple looking for a dream wedding venue.

Dream Mountain Wedding Location

If you are wanting a NC mountain wedding Iook no further. Overlook barn is the place!! It is so beautiful and the staff is amazing. We were so fortunate we were able to have our wedding after the Hurricane this fall. Overlook Barn was so communicative with all of the updates during a period of unknown and helped us come up with options and different plans in case we weren’t able to have our wedding the way we wanted. It was the most beautiful day ever and it was so perfect. My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue!! Our pictures have turned out amazing and that is due to how beautiful Overlook Barn is. Rachel & Katie were amazing to work with and we had zero stress about the venue throughout our entire wedding planner process. All of our family and friends have raved about how amazing the venue was. Thank you Overlook Barn for the wedding of our dreams!!!

The most beautiful wedding day at Overlook Barn!

We had the most wonderful, beautiful wedding at Overlook Barn this November! The manager and owners were such a delight to work with, from when we first visited to the lead up to our wedding day, and wrapping things up afterward. We loved the story of how the Barn came to be, and the special ties it has to the local community.

For our wedding day, the Overlook team was so helpful in getting everything ready for us, answering any questions we had, and making sure everything went off without a hitch. We loved getting ready in the Styling Suite - how gorgeous! We decided to also rent the honeymoon house so our groomsmen could get ready there and so my husband and I could stay for the night and it was perfect!

Everything on the property was in perfect condition, all of our vendors and guests had an easy time getting there, and our guests could not stop commenting on how beautiful the barn, property, and views were! We had so many options to make our wedding day exactly what we wanted and great plan Bs and Cs in case of weather, etc. We absolutely loved getting married here and would recommend it for anyone!

Best venue!

My now wife and I got married at overlook barn this past weekend and it was the best decision we ever made! The venue was perfect and it truly was a perfect day. The staff was great and very easy to work with. And the best part of all, we were able to include our pups in the big day! Cannot recommend overlook barn enough for a wedding venue!

Beautiful Views

Overlook Barn is a wonderful venue. Not only are the views great but the property is very well maintained. The venue has so many options for your wedding. It was nice to have specific spaces for each part of our wedding and it was so convenient that everything is on the same property. Our wedding there was amazing. The staff was attentive and responded to emails in a timely manner. The day ended up being exactly what we wanted and was stress free! Overlook Barn had everything perfect for our day!

Perfection

Your search for the perfect venue ends here - the barn is absolutely gorgeous, you have multiple rain plan options, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and has an excellent preferred vendors list. Our guests and vendors both loved this barn, and as a bonus... it has the most beautiful bridal suite! There isn't much else to it; its perfect!

Amazing venue!

This venue was absolutely incredible! Beautiful views off of Beech Mountain made for the perfect backdrop for our wedding. Overlook staff was very helpful and accommodating to help us plan our dream day. Having the multiple locations for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location made it an amazing easy experience for our guests as well. This place will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

Stunning, 5 star venue!

Beech Mountaintop venue, professionally run, excellent collection of preferred vendors, flexible. Hosted our daughters wedding here in August 2023 - "wouldn't change a thing". Gorgeous views, wonderful options for a "rain" plan which we didn't need, stunning reception and ceremony site - as is. Couldn't be happier with our experience.

Unbelievable!

10/10 Experience and Views

We just had our wedding here in April 2023 at Overlook Barn and could not praise the venue, staff or ownership more. The venue has incredible mountain views and the biggest piece that sold us was a beautiful backup plan for inclement weather at Cliffside Barn - which we did end up having to use for our wedding. We had about 50 guests at our wedding which made for a cozy and intimate setting. There's definitely space for more, but we didn't feel small in such a big space which was important to us. Overall, you won't be disappointed booking with Overlook Barn.

coldest November wedding in years, but loved every second of it

My wedding was nothing less than perfect! I had major dreams about having my wedding at this venue from when I was younger and as much as I wanted an outdoor wedding, a wedding date of November 2022 did not allow that. My wedding was unfortunately moved inside, but honestly, I don't believe that it would have look as perfect in the meadow as it did inside. I wish I could relive this day a million times over.

Overlook Barn is absolutely MAGICAL!

Our daughters wedding was Oct 30th, 2022 at Overlook barn and it was absolutely beautiful. It was a little chilly - no surprise being in the mountains - but the weather held out. We had sunshine, cloud cover, rain and even beautiful fog over the expansive views of the venue. It really was just a spectacular place. The barn itself has so much charm and character I can totally see why my daughter fell in love with it. They have a lot of options for cocktail hours and wedding sites now with the pavilion which is also really great. The fireplace was going in the pavilion which kept people cozy when they wanted to get away from the dance floor (we had in the barn). The people who helped us from booking, to visiting, to working out details, to day of set up were ALL just wonderful people to work with and made the day even more special. We are just so happy to have gotten a date in 2022 as we now know why they are booked up so quickly!! Loved our entire experience at Overlook Barn!

The perfect wedding venue

Our wedding at Overlook Barn was an absolute dream come true. Everyone we interacted with at Overlook was an absolute pleasure to work with. We were able to stay on-site in their honeymoon suite, and it was perfection. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Best day of my life

We had the most magical, dreamy, perfect wedding day at the Overlook Barn. I genuinely couldn't have dreamed up a better day. The bridal suite and groom's suite are to die for and you have so much room. The venue has so much to offer large weddings, outdoor or indoor weddings, elopements, pavilion, fire pit area, the views!!! They recommend all the BEST vendors and make wedding planning the easiest for you!! They even have a house on the property you can stay during your wedding weekend. Seriously it was all a dream, I will be trying to relive this day for the rest of my life. Thank you Overlook for making dreams come true!!!!

Worth The Wait

We were one of those Covid wedding couples that postponed and postponed again…. It was well worth the wait though. To be honest all of our wedding vendors were easy picks for us. I knew immediately I wanted to eat married at the Overlook when I first saw pictures. The reviews I read only solidified my decision. I actually booked without seeing the venue myself. I completely trusted it and I’m so glad I did. Katy and her team were amazing! They were flexible with me when I had to move our date TWICE and always made me feel reassured and confident that we would have a wonderful day.

Everything went smoothly on our wedding day and I really didn’t have to worry at all. We had a wonderful time and the venue is breathtaking. I will always recommend this place! The people and the destination are quite amazing!

Everything we wanted and more!

From the moment we first got to the venue we fell in love! Everyone was so kind and supportive in helping us find the best vendors and making our vision come to life. Our guests loved the space and the view was unreal. Having the option for indoor/outdoor ceremonies with both of them being incredibly beautiful was so nice. My bridesmaids and I loved getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite. We also stayed at the Airbnb on the property the night of the wedding and it was incredible! Everything was perfect!

A perfect venue in the mountains!

Overlook Barn was FABULOUS! The staff, scenery, and facilities were amazing. We could not have wished for a better venue or team for our wedding! We did a tour of the property in late January 2021 and booked Overlook Barn in early February. Karen was very thorough in walking through the venue contract and making sure we knew what was included in the micro-wedding package. Soon after, Kali helped us plan our September micro-wedding! Kali was so organized and helpful leading up to the wedding. We filled out a Google Form with our preferences for cake, flowers, officiant, music, and food (we did the dinner add-on) and she was so on top of it that she placed the cake / food / floral orders almost immediately. She responded quickly to emails and when she was unable to answer a question, she put us in direct contact with one of the vendors. Thirty days before the wedding, she scheduled a phone call to confirm the table layout, ceremony site, and make sure we had heard from the officiant and musician. She patiently answered all of our questions (table size, etc.) and shared a wedding day timeline well ahead of the wedding. Because COVID-19 cases were still surging in North Carolina and we had several higher risk guests attending, we asked the vendors and Overlook Barn staff to wear face masks during the wedding. I was so happy that the Overlook Barn team was vaccinated and willing to wear masks to help keep our guests safe! Wedding day, Kali was an incredible coordinator--patient and on top of everything. We dropped off our décor at Overlook Barn the morning of the wedding with instructions on what “look” we were going for and Kali and the Overlook team set it all up. It looked INCREDIBLE. I had initially been hesitant to do a micro-wedding package because I was concerned it wouldn’t be as intimate of a ceremony and reception, but that was not at all the case. Overlook Barn made it feel so special and beautiful AND the view from our ceremony was incredible. I am so happy we chose Overlook Barn for our wedding venue!

Overlook barn delivers!

I will never be able to say enough good things about the Overlook Barn, their team, or their work. I was a very hands-off bride - I didn't want me or anyone to have anything to worry about for our wedding day. I found the Overlook Barn on google and their micro-wedding package was perfect for us. Kali, their wedding coordinator, took care of pretty much every single detail. All I really had to do was find a hairdresser, pay the photographer, put together a few small things for our welcome table, write a ceremony and make a playlist. I literally did NOTHING else and our day was absolutely perfect. Kali and Kara were so welcoming and accommodating. They were present during our ENTIRE event and made sure that everything went perfectly. I am so, so, so happy with how everything went and am still so impressed with every single bit of it.

I've included some photos so that you can see how beautiful the venue is. If you don't know where to get married - I promise you that the Overlook Barn team will NOT disappoint and the venue is so beautiful. We haven't gotten our professional photos back yet but these are some our friends captured and they DO NOT do the venue or their staff any justice.

I will sing the praises of the Overlook Barn and their team for many, many, many years to come. I hope they are still in business when we decide to renew our vows in 10 or 20 years.

Overlook was a dream!

We had our destination wedding at Overlook Barn on July 1, 2021. It was the wedding of our dreams. The most beautiful backdrop overlooking the mountains! The barns provided an intimate and most perfect place to have our ceremony and reception. The staff at Overlook was helpful and kind. Overlook Barn was a blessing and I am so thankful we chose it. It was the best day of our lives.

Ps. It rained cats and dogs. And I wouldn't change a thing. God is so good for leading us here to this amazing venue.

A Piece of Heaven on Earth.

Overlook barn is a special place. I will never forget sitting at our sweetheart table looking out the big barn doors. It was almost felt as if we were floating in the clouds. Such a magical moment. On my wedding day, we had rain, fog and sun ... and let me tell you it was all perfect. The rain ended right as the ceremony started and this little bird came out and chirped and sang through our vows. It honestly felt like a fairytale. The day went by SO fast ... I told my husband I wish we could go back and just sit on the grass to take it all in. I cannot say enough good things about the barn and their team. There is truly no other venue like it and I am beyond grateful to have had my wedding there. You cannot go wrong with the barn and the weather is so unique -- whatever happens, looks beautiful. Really. I just cannot say enough good things, but I'll leave you with this; it's a piece of heaven on earth.

If you haven’t already booked this venue then I don’t know what you are waiting for!

Hands down the most GORGEOUS wedding venue! We recently got married here and have nothing but amazing things to say about Overlook and their entire team. We had to postpone our June 2020 wedding due to covid and Overlook was so amazing to deal with through all of that. We booked for June 2021 and it was everything we dreamed of and more. Overlook worked closely with our wedding planner to make sure everything went smoothly the day of. They were in constant communication with us and made the day absolutely amazing. We were able to stay in there Airbnb on the property for our wedding night which was an added bonus. Overlook was also awesome about allowing us to start using the house by 10am Saturday morning so the groomsmen had a place to hangout and get ready that was more spacious the day of. If you are able to do this I highly recommend asking. Although I got ready at an Airbnb off site with my girls, we still thoroughly enjoyed the small amount of time we had in the bridal suite. We had the most magical night and I really can’t recommend this wedding venue enough! Katie, the owner, even left my husband and I personalized notes the day of our wedding and emailed us the next day to make sure everything was perfect. You can tell everyone tricky cares about each of the couples that gets married here! If you are on the fence, for some odd reason, I promise you won’t be disappointed if you choose Overlook!

An Absolute Dream!

Where to start?! Overlook was merely a pipe dream on a Pinterest board a year and a half ago. Enter the pandemic and an extended deployment, changes had to happen to our original plan. My in-laws asked for a list of dream venues, and Overlook was on it. Low and behold, they LOVED it. The bathrooms, the suites, the covered areas, the tables and chairs, the whole nine was there. That sold them, and who am I to say no to a dream venue?? I grew up in Boone, on a farm, and always said "absolutely not" to getting married in a barn. But Overlook is totally different. The concrete, the lights, the view, everything about it just transforms it into an incredibly magical space. Karen and Kali were amazing with their communication, assistance, and attentiveness. We had access to the whole space and utilized that! There was also an area nearby (a shuttle took us so we didn't have to walk) where we took the famous rock overlook photos. The whole thing was otherworldly, honestly. Not to be dramatic, but I'm so serious! It is such an incredible venue and the people are so kind and helpful. I'm also a wedding photographer and from a vendor perspective, absolutely a dream venue. 10/10 would totally have 20 more weddings there!!

Gorgeous Mountain views and Amazing selections for ceremonies

The Overlook Barn was the first and only venue my husband and I visited. After we saw the amazing mountain views and how beautiful the barns and ceremony spaces were we knew this was the venue for us. All the staff are amazing and the vendor list that they give their couples helps with the wedding stress so much as all the vendors are amazing to work with and it gives you great reliable options for vendors all around Banner Elk. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone who wants an absolutely stunning venue rain or shine.

A true dream come true

First off, it saddens me to write this review because I can't believe our wedding is over. Overlook Barn was the only venue we looked at once we got engaged. I came across them after seeing a friend attend a wedding there in 2019 and followed them long before I was engaged. For starters, my husband and I love the mountains specifically the Banner Elk/Beech Mountain area. It holds such a special place in our hearts. When we started talking about wedding venues, getting married in the mountains was a non-negotiable for us. The day I found Overlook I immediately knew that it was the one. There is just something about that place that is so magical. The view of the mountains as you pull in, the beautiful green fields, and the beauty of Overlook barn itself are enough to take your breath away. Our friends and family could not stop telling us how beautiful the venue was. From the first email to the day of our wedding, the entire team at Overlook was prompt to respond and answer our questions. I joked with Karen quite a bit that I'm sure I got annoying but she was always there to make sure we had everything in line to make our day go perfect. She is a true rockstar and such a joy to work with. The day of our wedding Kali and Karen were there to make sure everything ran smoothly. Kali even stepped in to help when we had issues getting lunch delivered for the bridal party. I can't thank her enough for that! They really did make our day feel so special. I hope I get to visit Overlook again one day because it is such a special place to us now. While our big day is passed, I'm so excited for the other people who can hopefully feel the same way we did the day of our wedding!

October 10, 2020 - A successful Covid wedding in the middle of Hurricane Delta

How do I even begin?! My husband and I met up there in college, 11 years ago! We knew we wanted to get married at Overlook Barn the second it opened back in 2015, as we had spent so much time together in those beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! Having been together for almost a decade, we had picked out the date 10/10/2020 years ago, and the second he proposed we called Overlook! Thankfully we had booked them a few years in advance as October 10, 2020 quickly became the most popular date of the decade! Before we even toured the venue we fell in love with the staff and the property! As we moved about the planning process they were all incredibly helpful, and extremely patient as we somehow successfully pulled off a Covid friendly wedding in the middle of Hurricane Delta on top of everything else! We couldn't have done it without the help of our amazing vendors and everyone at Overlook! We would do it all over again if we could! Katie and David are incredible owners and they truly care about their couples and making their day as perfect as possible!

The Most Perfect Wedding Venue

Like many other families, we had to reschedule our daughter's wedding (originally planned for April) due to Covid. The Overlook team couldn't have been more understanding, accommodating and positive through the many changes and uncertainties that were to come over the course of the re-planning process.Ultimately, the wedding was a scaled down version of the original plan, and it was perfect in every way! The venue, as our many of our guests said, is "magical", the views are breathtaking, and the staff are top notch: calm, professional, detail oriented, and welcoming. I can't say enough about the wonderful experience our families and friends had at Overlook. It was a day we will always remember, and we are so happy it all turned out even better than the newlyweds ever imagined!

Dream Wedding Venue!

The view at Overlook Barn is unreal - it’s like having a little slice of heaven here on earth! The staff at Overlook Barn helped to make our fairytale mountain wedding a reality, while also following restrictions due to COVID-19. The staff was very flexible and willing to work with us every step of the way! Their venue also allowed for multiple options for locations of the cocktail hour, reception, and ceremony, which we loved! We actually were able to utilize their outdoor area next to their fire pit for our reception, which prior to COVID, wasn’t even an idea we had in mind! The entire day from getting ready in their bridesmaids suite to dancing the night away under the stars was beautiful and priceless from start to finish! Can’t wait to visit the venue again when celebrating our wedding anniversaries!

Amazing Venue

We decided to move forward with our August wedding during Covid. We're so happy we chose Overlook Barn, because they were the absolute best at working with us to determine the best and safest plan for our wedding day. I've heard horror stories about how this was being handled at other venues, so definitely want to call out how amazing and adaptable they have been during this challenging year.
We had to change our reception plans several times, but Karen and team were very responsive and took the time to jump on multiple calls with us, while I'm sure she was having to do the same with many other couples at the same time.
Fast forward to the wedding day, which was perfect. They were hands-on and worked with our coordinator and vendors to make everything stress-free for us, so we could just enjoy it. Our guests felt safe and the day really couldn't have gone any better.
In addition to all of that, the venue and view are breathtaking, you will get great photos rain or shine, and you will get a lot of compliments from your guests. Highly recommend!

Incredible!

The Overlook Barn team was incredible from day 1. Every time I had a question they responded so quickly. When COVID19 hit we had to adjust our wedding from 100+ guests to 15 guests. They made sure that our wedding day was still going to be everything we imagined and more, and it was. They are so kind and go out of their way to make your day special. The property and views are breathtaking. They have a boulder view that overlooks the mountains, which is a great spot for stunning pictures. Another huge plus is that during the summer, the weather temperature is amazing. We got married on July 31st and the temperature was in the low 70's during the ceremony and in the 60's during the reception. It felt incredible! It is definitely the best wedding venue in North Carolina. We highly recommend having your wedding at the Overlook Barn!

Perfect Mountain Venue

My husband and I had our wedding at Overlook Barn in October 2019. In a word, it was perfect. The entire Overlook team was knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating. They recommended vendors, answered my many questions promptly, and even spoke to some of my vendors directly to confirm day-of details / requirements. Most importantly, the venue is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Nothing makes me happier than looking at our photos taken in all of the stunning spots on property - this is no ordinary barn venue! Thankfully, we lucked out with a totally gorgeous Fall day, but it was so nice having peace of mind knowing we had a great Plan B if our outdoor ceremony didn’t work out.

In short, I can’t recommend Overlook Barn enough. No matter what happens, you know you will end up with a beautiful wedding day and lots of special memories!

BEST experience working with this amazing venue

We have had the pleasure of working with Overlook Barn this year during some of the most trying times of our lives. They truly have made this entire experience as smooth and easy as it could have gone. They have gone above and beyond to be flexible and understanding when working with us and for that we could not be more grateful. An amazing spot for a romantic elopement!

After COVID impacted our wedding plans and forced us to postpone to next year, my husband and I decided to salvage our original wedding date and elope with just our immediate families. In the weeks before our elopement date, we stumbled upon Overlook Barn, and knew it would be the perfect spot for our little celebration. The property, with breathtaking mountain views and tons of privacy, truly exceeded all of our wildest expectations – we are so glad we found it, and would encourage anyone who is thinking about an intimate elopement to choose Overlook for their big day!

stunning Venue in the Blue Ridge Mountains

The Overlook Barn is a stunning venue in Beech Mountain, NC. It is easy to see how beautiful this place is and the dedication that went into making this a lovely venue. What you cannot see is how sincere and remarkable the staff are. I cannot speak more highly of Karen, the venue manager. She is there to help couples through every step when planning their wedding. I sent a bunch of emails to Karen and she always responded so kindly and always had answers. She truly made the planning experience enjoyable and calming. The owners Katie and David reached out several times with well wishes and support and was much appreciated. My husband grew up on Beech skiing and we both attend Appalachian State. It truly felt like home getting married in the Blue Ridge Mountains on top of Beech Mountain. From the meadow, to the cliffside barn, to the main barn every view is stunning. The Overlook Barn made every moment of our wedding special. On the day of our wedding, October 5th, it was a chilly, foggy day which added this magical feel. Whatever weather, The Overlook Barn is beautiful. Thank you to all the staff for making our day so extraordinary. I highly recommend this venue to any couple, especially couples who love the mountains.

The most gorgeous venue ever

Katie and Karen were amazing to work with and as flexible as possible with the COVID restrictions. We had to basically replan the entire wedding in terms of setup and flow in a matter of a month but they worked so well with us. We spread out our wedding for social distancing and added a tent which we were originally wary of (especially with an added cost) but on the day of, our whole wedding mentioned how amazing it was to be outside and be able to see the view the whole time. We also got to eat with the wedding party on the balcony of the cliffside barn which was amazing and fun to be able to actually sit for awhile and eat with less going on around us. It rained for just a bit and the most gorgeous full rainbow showed up which we may have missed had we been in the big barn. If you’re planning a COVID wedding I feel for you but this is the best venue for it. And if you’re planning a wedding without restrictions... I am very jealous of you :) but this venue and the team they have is perfect either way.

A gorgeous venue with a wonderful staff!

Overlook Barn is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery everywhere you turn and the barn itself is rustic and elegant all at once. While the barn may be gorgeous in its own right, its really the team that makes this entire place special. Katie and Karen are two of the most kind, patient, and accommodating people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Planning a wedding from across the country was not an easy task, but they pushed through with me every step of the way and I could not be more grateful for them. If you want a team that will make your day seamless and magical in a setting that comes straight from a fairy tale, Overlook Barn is your perfect match!

This place was breathtaking! Pictures do not do it justice! Even though it’s so beautiful, it’s a comfortable venue where they make you feel at home.

Everything about this place was PERFECT! It was worth every penny we put towards it.
If I could give any recommendations- make sure you use cliffside in case it rains (you are in the mountains).

Overlook Barn was a dream come true

If you are deciding between Overlook and another venue, absolutely pick Overlook Barn! Not only is the venue absolutely stunning but all the vendors they suggest for use are amazing and so wonderful to work with. Their own staff is one of a kind and one can tell they really enjoy where they work and who they work for. Considering all the different personalities they come across with so many weddings over the course of a year, they know how to make every bride and groom, along with their family and friends, invited and the most special on the big day. This was the only venue we every looked at- its charm was undeniable and the staff on our walk through was so welcoming that we never thought to consider another venue to hold and host all our favorite people.

Amazing venue!

My wedding day was the best day of my life! Overlook Barn is a stunning venue and just so magical! Karen the venue manager is so helpful and quick at responding to questions. The view is something you can’t beat! We used cliff side barn as the back up ceremony, but it ended up working out better! Overlook Barn is the PERFECT destination wedding venue! ♥️🥰

Best Venue Ever

I don't think there are enough words to express how amazing and breathtakingly beautiful this venue is. My husband and I are not from North Carolina, but they made planning an out of state wedding so easy. When we did our first walk through of Overlook, we both teared up. The mountain view is spectacular and pictures don't even do it justice. Our wedding was an absolute dream. The whole overlook team is phenomenal and they were all so accommodating with planning phone calls and last minute visits! The day of the wedding, Karen and her team were awesome, working behind the scenes to over see set up and make sure everything was perfect. It started to sprinkled right before the ceremony started and they were right there with umbrellas for us just in case :) I couldn't ask for a better team for the most important day of my life! All of our guests were blown away by the venue as well. We've been told a few times that it was the most beautiful venue they've ever seen, and though we may be biased, we couldn't agree more. If I could give 10 stars, I would :) THANK YOU OVERLOOK!!!

Wedding of my Dreams!

It is honestly hard to put into words how incredible this venue really is! Pictures do not do it justice. I had the wedding of my dreams at the Overlook Barn and I wish I could do it 10000 times over again!! Not only is the barn incredible gorgeous (jaw-dropping if I must say), the staff is amazing and so helpful. They are very responsive and always on top of everything. Every guest at my wedding said it was one of the most beautiful venues they had ever been to! Everything we dreamed of!

Our wedding at Overlook Barn was EVERYTHING we dreamed of! It was the only venue we visited and we knew it was the one. The property and view are gorgeous. Both barns are picture perfect. The lighting, rustic feel, high ceilings and outdoor lighted fire pit are a perfect backdrop for design. Not to mention the tables and chairs they provide and on site suites for getting ready make it incredibly convenient. Their staff is incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. We had close to 150 guests and a band with a decent size dance floor and it was the perfect size. We could not have asked for a better venue or experience. Katie, Karen and their staff are top notch. Thank you for everything! Best day ever!!

Beautiful Mountain Views

Overlook Barn was the first and only wedding venue we visited when searching for our dream location! We fell in love with the views and the ground of Overlook Barn. The restored barn offered the outdoor feel while also giving a beautiful indoor space with finished flooring and beautiful stalls. The OL staff was amazing and organized which gave this organized bride such relief. They require an event coordinator which will give the bride and groom family so much help during their big day. The OL team was amazing to work with and I never questioned that my wishes would be met. If you are looking for a beautiful mountain wedding there is no need to look further. Happy Planning

Magic in the mountains!

This place is magical. The view is amazing! Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the team running it is a well oiled machine. Karen communicated with us from day one, and was also our day of coordinator. SHE'S THE BEST! And helped our day go so smoothly! We knew that we wanted to have a very small, intimate ceremony, and the Cliffside Barn provided us with a space to have a very sweet, family style dinner and reception. Don't rule this place out if you're hoping to have a small wedding. The weather in July is perfect, even chilly in the mornings. No pit stains on the groom, or sweaty bride. That in itself makes this the perfect summer location. Thank you Overlook Barn for a perfect day!

Absolutely perfect venue!

We had our wedding on Thursday June 27 2019 at Cliffside Barn, the smaller barn at Overlook for 50 people and it was perfect! Our most important aspect of our wedding was to have views and this place delivered! We hired Karen to coordinate our day and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We had our ceremony on the lawn, appetizers/ cocktail hour on the covered patio of Cliffside and the reception in Cliffside. The guests constantly said this was one of the most beautiful weddings they have been to, from the mountain views, to the beautiful design of the barn and the warm hospitality of the staff at Overlook. Our wedding pictures came from a storybook, as we went out to the large rock on the property with Cliffisde/ Overlook in the backdrop as well as Grandfather Mountain... the sunset was a colorful sorbet of colors. Everything about this day was magical and the venue and staff was what made our day so spectacular. I would recommend Overlook Barn and Cliffside Barn with Karen as your wedding coordinator a million times over and over again! Can we do this again next year? :)

July Wedding at Overlook Barn

I loved loved LOVED having our wedding at the Overlook Barn! The whole campus itself is so beautiful and one of main reasons we chose this venue for our wedding was because our plan B was just as wonderful of an option as our plan A! Karen and Kali are the venue managers and they were so helpful throughout the whole process and responded to emails very quickly! I highly recommend getting married at Overlook Barn!!!

Easy to plan a magnificent dreamy wedding

Our guests, who have been to weddings all over the world, are still talking about how beautiful the Overlook Barn venue was. The backdrop of the Appalachian mountains for the ceremony that took place on the lawn was magnificent. The barn itself is beautifully romantic. We easily seated the 230 guests and had enough room to dance the whole night long. Karen, the Manager was accommodating, when she could be, and organized. She made it easy for us to plan the most magnificent dreamy wedding.

the PERFECT mountain wedding venue

Yes the barns are beautiful and the location is dreamy. But what made Overlook Barn stand out for me were the owners and the staff. Katie and David are dedicated to making this venue (where they got married!) perfect for fulfilling couples' dreams, constantly looking for feedback and improving the property (e.g. they recently buried all of the power lines so that photos are flawless!) Karen is so kind and invested in making each wedding special. The staff are detail-oriented and know the venue like the backs of their hands.

The High Country has a tight knit group of wedding planners and vendors and Overlook Barn is best friends with them all (check out their super long preferred vendors lists). I am so grateful to have tapped into this for my wedding. Having limited time and planning from afar, I felt completely confident in trusting my planner and vendors to design and execute my dream wedding. The day was FLAWLESS. Trust me, I tried throwing wrenches into the plan (e.g. I want to sneak up on my husband for our first look, brother-of-the-groom decided he wants to give a speech last minute, etc etc).

Any couple looking for a gorgeous venue with staff who make wedding days not only look easy but super FUN (can't be easy when you have back-to-back weddings every week!) I would highly recommend Overlook Barn.

The Most Breathtaking Wedding Venue

Is it possible to give Overlook 100/5 stars?! Overlook Barn made my entire wedding day something out of a fairy tale. I want to relive the day over and over again and I have Overlook Barn to thank for that. From the first time I emailed Overlook, I received nothing but incredible service from the entire Overlook team. It truly was the happiest day of our lives and I can’t help but get giddy when I look back on that day.
I honestly have nothing but wonderful to say about the entire process working with Katie, Karen, and Kali. Karen was INCREDIBLE-- responded quickly, very professional, and genuinely cares about her brides. She has gone above and beyond throughout the entire planning process down to the day of the wedding. She took time out of her day to give us tours, and even came early to my rehearsal so we could walk my family around the Barn. Kali was a sweetheart the day of as well-- moved around cars for us and did everything in her power to make sure my family and I were situated and had everything we needed. (No lie- down to the temperature in the bridal suite!) Katie and her husband even left my husband and me a card and a bottle of champagne on our wedding day. You can tell Katie and her husband truly care about the property, as they are always making improvements and asking for feedback. We loved the fact that it was open vendor- We were able to shop around for our vendors and make the wedding truly ours. A wedding at Overlook is not your typical cookie cutter country club wedding!
All of our friends and family cannot stop talking about the venue and how beautiful it was. Friends keep commenting on the beauty of the venue on facebook and asking where it is! The pictures of the venue look like something out of a magazine and it feels like that in person! Cliffside is so intimate and magical. It was perfect for our wedding of 100. The main barn is absolutely stunning—the tables, the lights, the stalls. There are so many options with each room and you can truly make the wedding yours. All of the pictures from that day are beautiful- there is not a bad photo opportunity on the property. We were smitten the first time we walked in there! We found it on Instagram and I knew it was the one. Katie and her husband have a gem in Banner Elk!! I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about Overlook and the entire team—You will not be disappointed if you book your wedding at Overlook!!

Sacred Space

I cannot describe the feelings we had when we first arrived at Overlook Barn over a year before our wedding. We immediately teared up, imagining our wedding day taking place on that magical mountaintop. My (now) husband and I met at Appalachian State University and wanted a venue that captured the grandeur and beauty of the mountains where we fell in love. Overlook Barn was that place and so much more. Karen showed us around and made us feel like ours was the first ever wedding to take place there. She was so clearly excited for us and encouraged us to bring our own unique style and vision to the space. We knew from the moment we crested the hill this was where we wanted to seal our vows, but Karen allowed us to make our own choice without pressuring us.
My favorite memories of the wedding include getting ready in the bridal suite (where the owners Katie and David left us the sweetest gift of champagne and a kind note wishing us well on our big day), hearing our wedding vows echo across the mountains, and looking back at the barn as we drove away, beautifully glowing in the distance. Overlook Barn is now sacred space for us and our families. We will never forget the feelings of love and joy that we experienced from the moment we set foot on the grounds. Thank you, Overlook, for sharing this beautiful piece of heaven with so many brides and grooms.

A Dream Come True!!

I can not say enough good things about the Overlook Barn, from the moment I stepped onto the property (in January and covered in snow) to our sparkler lit exit on our September wedding night. Karen and Katie made me feel at ease immediately and answered every question I had, not matter how big or small. Banner Elk is a small place so it was so Karen/Katie were so helpful when I needed recommendations for other vendors and Karen even helped me find a babysitter, which was a life saver. I knew all would go great when I saw Karen on our wedding day. I wanted a venue that was already beautiful and and would just be enhanced with anything we decided to add and that is exactly what I found with Overlook...the views, the stringed lights, cross back chairs, etc. We could not be happier with how our day turned out and would recommend Overlook Barn to anyone interested in a NC Mountain wedding.

If you are looking for a wedding venue in the mountains with amazing views and backdrops, a professional team to work with and something very much worth your money... this is the place. We had our wedding in early October 2018, which was the perfect time of the year. Our guests raved about the venue and how beautiful it was. Some of the older guests said "Let's renew our vows here next year!" ha!. The price is well worth every penny, as it includes all your tables and chairs and you don't have to rent those. Also, another big perk is that you can bring your own alcohol onsite; huge cost savings there as well. The coordinator onsite, Karen, is flexible, dependable and an excellent communicator. Not one email of ours didn't go unanswered within 48 hours. AMAZING.
Thank you to the Overlook Barn team for such a wonderful day.

Katie (owner) and Karen (manager/day of coordinator) were amazing and so accommodating to our small intimate wedding. Something that is hard to find these days when you’re planning a small wedding, trust us. From the initial site visit to the day of the wedding and after, they have been nothing but professional and caring with our special day. Highly recommend this venue and these ladies to anyone for any size wedding.

My husband and met at App State and wanted to get married in the mountains. We found Overlook Barn online and when we went to go visit the venue we instantly fell in love with the barn and breathtaking views. The staff is amazing and fantastic to work with. Especially Karen, who guided us through the whole process. Anytime we called or emailed they were very quick to get back to us and always happy to answer all of our questions and had great suggestions. Everyone that attended our wedding had nothing but positive things to say about the venue. I would highly recommend booking them for your wedding! I haven't gotten the wedding pictures back yet, but here are some of my bridal portraits that were taken at Overlook Barn.

This venue is truly incredible. The services, people, and experience is top of the line. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams overlooking the beautiful mountains. Overlook Barn is the perfect escape for those getting married in the summer looking for an escape from the heat. The staff were responsive to every request that I had throughout the year and worked diligently to make our dream wedding come true. I will always remember the crisp mountain air and the breathtaking sight of the string lights dangling from the white barn. Thank you so much, Overlook Barn!!

From the moment I first saw the Overlook Barn in a wedding magazine, I knew it was the place I wanted to get married! From the beginning, the Overlook Barn was kind and helped us every step of the way. We had a great wedding and would not change it for the world! We had to get married inside the barn as a back up plan due to rain, but it was still just as beautiful! 100% would recommend!!

We had our wedding at the Overlook Barn May 26th, 2018 and I cannot say enough to compliment absolutely everything about our experience. The venue is spectacular and my guests, all of whom were from out of town, could not get over how beautiful the property, views, and barn were (neither could I!). When I was eating dinner at our reception, I took a moment and looked around at one point and felt like I had to pinch myself that my wedding was in such a beautiful place! We had our actual ceremony in Cliffside Barn, which is intimate and romantic (and served us well for the rainy day we had).
Apart from the actual venue, the staff is so wonderful to work with. Karen especially was our go-to contact person and she was absolutely the best. No matter how many times I emailed her, she promptly responded with the information I needed. In all the chaos that comes with planning a wedding, she was so very helpful to me in figuring things out.
If you are considering the Overlook Barn as your venue, I cannot recommend it enough. It truly is a magical spot in the mountains to celebrate a special occasion.

What a fantastic venue! Karen was amazing & we received so many compliments from our vendors on how responsive & accommodating she was throughout the process. Everything was perfect! The grounds were well maintained, everything was set up exactly as we requested & we couldn't have asked for more!

The Overlook Barn is so gorgeous, the pictures do not do it justice. Everyone who attended told me they had looked at the website prior, but the barn blew their mind. The views are spectacular and even if rains, there's a plan for that! (it also only rains on the mountain for like 15 minutes and it's gone). I can't say enough about Karen, the manager. She has it together! She's there with you at your rehearsal and your wedding for whatever you need and she's SUPER responsive. We couldn't be happier that we booked this venue! Breathtaking and it doesn't even need that much decor because the barn itself is already so stunning!

My husband and I just celebrated our one year anniversary – my how time has flown! We love thinking back on our wedding day that we spent at this beautiful mountain home, so it’s only fitting that I FINALLY write our review. We had a vision of having a casual, laid-back wedding that everyone could enjoy. We found the home online, spoke with Nancy, and booked the home without hesitation. From that moment, the process of working with Nancy (owner) and Vicky (wedding coordinator) was seamless. We had a few special requests that they gladly accommodated, going above and beyond what we would have ever expected. Prior to the wedding weekend, Vicky offered to meet us at the home for a tour. She had also arranged for a local event rental company (tables, chairs, tents, dance floor, heaters, etc.) to meet us and discuss our needs and the layout. As day-of wedding coordinator, Vicky helped with the ceremony, helped with odds and ends throughout the day, and kept an eye out for food/drinks that needed to be refreshed throughout the night. There is a relatively small fee for Vicky, but it was more than worth it to us. The home was large enough to accommodate the bride’s family and our dog (pet fee) for the weekend, and there were other accommodations in the area for the groom’s family and our wedding guests. The suite in the basement area was used for the groom and his groomsman to get ready during the day, and doubled as the honeymoon suite after the wedding festivities. The home is decorated with antique and vintage touches, and very well appointed. We were married on the side-porch to get the most out of the beautiful mountain view and have room for our 75 guests to be comfortable. Our reception was under the trees in the front yard, and it was absolutely perfect. Our wedding was at 4 with dinner and the reception following after. If I recall correctly, we were given a heads-up to start wrapping up by 10 pm, which we felt was more than enough time to celebrate!

We had our dream wedding at Overlook Barn October 13, 2017. It was absolutely perfect, the leaves were changing and the town of Beech Mountain was a great getaway for all of our guests. We had a 120 person ceremony at Mary’s Meadow, cocktail hour at the Cliffside Barn, and the reception followed at Overlook Barn. Everything was absolutely perfect. The grounds are completely breathtaking and having the Cliffside Barn for cocktail hour is a must. The guest loved the intimate feel and views from Cliffside Barn and they were all in shock when they made their way over to the big barn for the reception. The Overlook Barn is so stunning by itself and the lights, booths, and rustic wood tables and chairs bring the reception to a new level. The barn is completely wired for everything you may want/need as far as sound and lighting goes. The balcony for the DJ is so perfect. Not only does it make for great sound but also frees up the dance floor. The Barn has a great team to help you with every need you may have all the way up to your big day. On wedding day they have a staff member there all day to help and answer anything you and your team may need. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. The venue is so stunning you must see it for yourself. We highly recommend.

When I got engaged I knew that I wanted to be married in the NC mountains. My husband loves Blowing Rock and we've been to multiple weddings at venues there. I was totally distraught, however, when I realized how expensive they all were! Not only are they super pricey, but you don't get to pick and choose your vendors. When I visited the Overlook Barn I immediately knew I had found my place. It fits WAY more people than your standard venue and you get to bring in your own vendors which can save so much money. Even more important is the fact that it is THE most gorgeous venue you will ever see. The views are unreal and make for beautiful pictures. The venue also offers a cozy bridal suite that you and your maids can get ready in the day-of the wedding. I felt like a had a little party before the wedding even started! It is also so convenient for guests because you have the Pinnacle Inn right down the road for people to stay at. The staff is incredible and Karen and Katie were so helpful and so so sweet. I still have people telling me that it was the best venue they had ever been to and I agree 100%. You won't regret having your wedding here- I loved it!

I have always loved the mountains and I couldn't have found a more perfect place to marry my best friend! The overlook barn has amazing views and a big beautiful open barn! Even if it rained we could have had a beautiful ceremony. It didn't rain and we were able to have our ceremony in the meadows! We loved it and our guests loved it! The overlook barn team will be there for you if you need them but also make it so that you are able to make your wedding your own! Everything went perfectly and I can honestly say it was the best day of my life! Thank you overlook barn team!

We loved everything about our wedding at Cliffside! The mountain setting was exactly what we wanted. It was so much fun to have a space to spend the whole morning, with no rush and nowhere else to be but in the moment. Mary's Meadow was everything I imagined for our ceremony; the fire pit is a fun place for cocktail hour and yard game or two; and the barn has a simple beauty that doesn't need much dressing up.
Karen was amazing to work with and made everything about the process easy! She responded quickly to every question and she seemed to enjoy it right there with us. It always felt like she was happy to be there and truly cared how our wedding day went.

I cannot say enough great things about Overlook Barn and their team! This venue is absolutely beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Our family and friends haven't stopped raving about it! Karen was amazing to work with and responded to emails very quickly. She is extremely professional and her passion for the job would make me more and more excited for my wedding day every time I met with her. The barn itself was renovated beautifully; they even have string lights permanently hung across the ceiling that give the barn such a romantic/magical feel when lit at night. What is also unique about this venue is there are several site options for your ceremony/reception; they have a field overlooking the mountains, the main barn, and a smaller Cliffside Barn that houses a gorgeous chandelier. Between the venue itself, and the amazing Overlook team, our wedding here was a dream come true...I wish I could do it all over again!

Overlook Barn is absolutely gorgeous and guests raved about how it was the best looking venue they'd ever been to. Pictures do not do it justice, you have to go see this place. During our engagement, management changed. Unlike some reviews, we had no problem with the previous staff. They were slightly disorganized, but all the information we received from them was correct. Karen, however, is a God-send to this venue. I hope the owners know what an amazing person they hired for their new manager. When Karen stepped into the position she emailed us to introduce herself, schedule the 30-day-out meeting, and detail every piece of information we may need in a clear and coherent way. She also made us feel special and excited about our upcoming wedding. Every interaction with her from then on was warm and friendly but professional. Improvements were made to the barn during our engagement, so it only looked better than when we booked. There are 4 bathrooms in the building, a catering kitchen, a bar area with a refrigerator, and suites for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready in. The barn was clean and tidy each time we visited. Staff sets up tables and chairs for you according to earlier specifications but are very flexible with changes even day-of. While there's no A/C, I got married in July and was actually a little cold at times. This is not a place where you need to worry about the heat. They have a simple rain plan they can implement last minute that still includes a view of the mountains. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who will listen to me. I could not be more happy with how it turned out.

Overlook Barn was an absolutely beautiful venue! My daughter's wedding was Memorial Day weekend, and the view was spectacular for the wedding. The Barn looked amazing inside. The lighting that stays up all the time added great ambiance. We used lots of mason jars and carafes of flowers on the tables and on the ledges and they looked great. The staff was wonderful to work with from the initial planning all the way through to midnight of the day of the wedding. I would highly recommend using Overlook Barn for any bride for a High Country wedding.

We had our wedding in May at Overlook Barn and we couldn't have been happier. The staff is wonderful and they were very accommodating in both the planning stages and the event itself, which was especially helpful since we had to plan from afar. As the dust settles, we finally got everything almost back in place and I look out from my front porch over the mountains I wanted to write and say how appreciative we are for you and your staff. I sit here at peace and feeling so much more blessed than I ever deserved. I wanted to say you made the marriage of my last baby girl so very special and perfect. We sat at our table in our mountain home at midnight after the wedding with my immediate family and we were able to reflect on this wonderful event. I will never be able to thank you enough. I do not know how you would rate this wedding but I am getting so many e-mails and text honestly saying this wedding was the best they have ever attended. I as a former school Principal and Superintendent always told my staff that every event needs to be a wow event (and this was truly a wow event as people said wow all through the night). That in large part is because of you and your staff. Thanks again to you and your staff (please tell them) for everything and I will forever be indebted to you. If you love the mountains, breathtaking views and a rustic feel then Overlook Barn is the place for you to plan your perfect day! We loved the Barn filled with Edison bulbs and can't begin to explain the beauty of the backdrop. I literally got married on top of a mountain!!! I had high expectations since I was asked on a mountaintop in Colorado and I was not in any way disappointed. Thanks for creating such a beautiful and inviting space!

This was an amazing place to have our wedding! We loved getting to stay for days at the place and decorate everything ourselves. The house has tons of room, and the outdoor space is so beautiful. Waking up and drinking coffee on the beautiful porch was such a great way to start the day. The wedding went perfect and we were lucky to have the best weather for the day. I think the only negative would be the driveway, It was worse then the time we visited the property because I think it had rained and car tires dug holes a bit but we had trouble getting small cars through it, and the bus we rented to shuttle our guests there wouldn't even try the driveway so if you're holding a wedding here I think the only real option is people driving themselves. Maybe one day theyll pave the driveway that would definitely be a great improvement.

Loved that we picked this spot for our special day and we will absolutely be back for an anniversary one day!

One other thing that I think would be helpful is installing a wifi router, we didn't get any cell signal at all up there and without wifi it made keeping in touch with vendors sort of difficult.

We are still so in awe of our wedding at the Overlook Barn. I knew when it came to planning our wedding and trying to do it on a budget, that I wouldn't have the bandwidth or finances to erect a romantic setting in the middle of the woods like Pinterest was channeling me to do. And though we had planned to look at a dozen or so venues, when we walked into the Overlook Barn it was all over. We signed the contract that same day. I could go on and on about the athesthetics of the space - the warm feeling guests receive when they step inside, the beautiful grounds literally on top of a mountain, the view, the pre-strung lights that provide the perfect ambiance inside, the beauty of the raw space before a single decoration in displayed, etc...
But I didn't really realize into diving deeper into planning our wedding how beneficial choosing this venue was over others like it. For instance, they let you bring in any vendor you would like without charging penalty fee's for going with their preferred vendors (our brother-in-law had to pay a $25 fee per guest to use the caterer they wanted at a different venue), you are able to provide your own alcohol should you choose, their are (4) restrooms inside unlike other barns that require you to truck in expensive portal potty's, there are (2) beautiful suites for the men and women to get ready in the day of the wedding, the fire pit and outdoor space make the perfect cocktail location, the barn includes round and rectangular farm tables and chairs with the rental fee and have wooden x-back chairs on-site available for rent at a cheaper price than other rental houses in town, and lastly - their staff is SO attentive and helpful. I emailed them often and even though I knew I wasn't the only bride they were interacting with, I never felt I had to compete for time or had to wait for our questions to be answered. We are so grateful we found this place and got to start our next chapter there surrounded by our family and friends.

We cannot say enough good things about the Overlook Barn and its staff. They were extremely accommodating, worked with us in every aspect of the process and their communication was on point. They kept the grounds and barn itself very clean and had staff on hand the day of to help with setup. The Overlook Barn and its property is an all around beautiful venue with gorgeous views.

Our ceremony was supposed to take place outside in the meadows but due to hurricane Matthew, we had to move the ceremony inside the barn. Even though it was extremely frustrating that the weather wasn't cooperating, we were very grateful that the barn was big enough to accommodate not only our reception as planned but our ceremony as well.

We strongly recommend this venue to anyone wishing to get married in the beautiful high-country. Even with it being a "newer" venue, they have done awesome work and will continue to do great things with this property!! Another HUGE thank you to the owners and staff!!!

Overlook Barn is the perfect combination of relaxed/comfortable and beautiful/elegant. The indoor and outdoor spaces provide many of the basics you want in a venue (lighting, fire pit, tables, restrooms, bride/groom rooms, etc.) but also offer the flexibility to make the place personal and unique to you! Our wedding day at the Overlook Barn was everything we imagined and we couldn't have been happier with our experience there.

Wow, where to start... first of all, before you read this review, go and book them or at the very least check if they're available for your date. Yes, they are that good.
So originally me and my husband we getting married somewhere else in the high country until it became unaccommodating for our size and budget. Thankfully Overlook Barn had just opened and were available on our date. We were hooked after simply looking online. After an on site tour, I was ready to move in.
The grounds are stunning, groomed, and being upgraded weekly. The view is UNREAL. U. N. R. E. A. L. READ AND REPEAT. They are expansive and level offering different materials like grass and gravel, and a natural flow from the ceremony space into cocktail hour and then the barn for the reception. Even for the couples who faced a day of fog and moisture, the photos were epic. Like on the edge of the world epic.
The main barn is nothing shy of an elegant banquet hall. It has a polished industrial feel with a lofted stage (so fun for bands and bouquet tosses). It's sublime walking into the space. The secondary barn is elegant with rustic chic touches and again, a killer view. Named after the owner's father Cliff, it is a reflection of the love this family has put into its space.
This space is an old family property, renovated to be a marital dream for couples looking for an "outdoorsy" venue. Outdoorsy in that you like the mountains and all they have to offer but you also like indoor plumbing and a quality space/experience. This space isnt just quality though. It's luxury. Me and my bridesmaids got ready on site (aka enough room for 1 bride, 1 mother of the bride, 1 mother of the groom, 8 bridesmaids, 3 hairstylists, and 1 makeup artist, AND a photographer and wedding planner) and we werent crowded or uncomfortable. Both the bridal and groom suite had private bathrooms.
I love this venue.The Elders are a joy to work with and genuinely care about your experience. I'd do it weekly if I could

This is an absolutely stunning venue with a beautiful overlook of the gorgeous blue ridge mountains. The owners along with the event coordinator Cece were so kind and easy to deal with and made my experience perfect! I would recommend this to any bride looking for a unique and breathtaking ceremony and reception!!

I can't tell you enough great things about this venue! It is absolutely beautiful on the inside and it makes for a very intimate setting for a wedding. We had both wedding and reception in the barn. We made each "stall" a different theme and that helped with the flow of the event. Once the sun goes down the lights make it even more beautiful. The outside fire pit area made it very nice for people to mingle away from the dance floor and enjoy the beautiful view. CeCe is wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend this venue!

I just had my dream wedding and best day of my life at the Overlook Barn! The barn is absolutely gorgeous and has huge rafters with beautiful string lighting across it. There is a romantic fire pit area where we held our cocktail hour. And maybe the best part was our ceremony site which was outdoors in the meadow with a stunning view of the mountains that went on forever.

Working with CeCe, the venue manager, was a breeze. She is responsive, creative, thoughtful, and organized.

Most of my guests stayed at The Pinnacle Inn, which was less than a half mile from the Overlook Barn. It was so convenient!

The venue was just renovated in 2015 so we were one of the first weddings there. I can't say enough good things about how it all went... I can't recommend them enough!

I love this location!!! The view is gorgeous and the house is very large and cozy. We had a small family wedding and it was perfect. We loved it so much we would come back here just to stay for a vacation. The location was everything we wanted and made for some gorgeous photos. We had fun with guests in the jacuzzi after dancing a long time, and set up a fire in the fire pit. I am very happy with our choice. We also love Asheville, NC and it was only a short trip from the mountain. Hiking was plentiful and there is a trail right off the driveway! Most important the caretakers were lovely people and really made us feel at home. I would suggest to anyone to make this their destination wedding location.

I have had a lovely experience with Nancy and Vicky. They are both so friendly and involved with making your special day as amazing as they possibly can! The property is affordable and gorgeous! The rustic and romantic atmosphere is perfect for a cozy wedding! I would recommend this venue for any couple who wants a natural beautiful wedding! I am so lucky I found this venue and their wonderful staff.

The Overlook was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding! Our goal was to have an intimate wedding in a beautiful setting where we could celebrate not only our union but also the precious time with all of our loved ones, friends and family. This goal was achieved and surpassed with our choice of The Overlook. Our closest family and friends stayed with us at the house, which is very spacious and, by the time of the ceremony, we were all so comfortable in the space and felt completely at home. All of our guests commented on the beauty of the grounds and the house, itself, and many people said that ours was the best wedding they'd ever attended, due to the relaxed and beautiful atmosphere that was created, in large part, because of the setting. Nancy and Vicki were so helpful and knowledgable and they both assisted us immensely in achieving our vision for our wedding and reception. Both went far above and beyond what we ever expected and this is part of what makes The Overlook so special as a wedding and reception venue. Nancy was so accommodating and supportive of everything we sought to bring to our day and, as a result, we truly had the perfect wedding and reception! Neither my husband nor I would have changed a thing about our special day and we love looking back over our stunning photographs and remembering our time there and how absolutely wonderful it was! We still keep in contact with Nancy and we plan to return to The Overlook to stay at some point, this time with our daughter so we can show her where her parents got married. One visit to The Overlook was all it took for us to decide it was the perfect venue for our wedding and reception, but we never could have anticipated how special it would be and how easy, thanks to Nancy and Vicki's help and assistance. My husband and I achieved our goal of having a great time at our own wedding and reception and we honestly wouldn't have changed a thing! Can't recommend enough!

My husband and I fell in love in the mountains of Denver, CO. After moving to Charlotte, NC we wanted to find a place that took us back to nature, allowing us to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy city and focus on our true love for one another. Overlook Barn in Banner Elk, NC was the exact escape we had hoped for on our wedding day. Nestled into a gentle ridge of Beech Mountain, it offers an all inclusive location for the wedding of your dreams with everything within walking distance for you and your guests-from the ceremony to the reception to the rentable ski suites for lodging! Onsite, there is a gentleman's suite and a polishing room for each of the wedding parties to dress, prepare and just enjoy the day which couldn't have been more accommodating or well designed! With a lush open meadow that overlooks the majestic smoky mountains, we held our ceremony outside and very few extra decorations were necessary thanks to the natural backdrop of beautiful mountains. Chairs were included and set up by OLB staff in the manner you designated...how helpful! The barn is a refinished equine boarding barn with so much family history, leaving your guests with a sense of nostalgia. The ceiling is decorated with twinkly lights, the floors finished with polished cement, and the interior set with wooden farm tables and crossback chairs that was the perfect combination to create a natural, yet whimsical atmosphere. We loved having the main barn set for our guests for dinner and dancing and then utilizing the refinished stalls along the perimeter for a variety of purposes like a photo booth, catering, wine and beer, dessert and even a children's room! I can't speak highly enough of the owners and their staff at OLB. Everyone was amiable, responsive and genuinely helpful on such a busy day and all of the months leading up to it! We couldn't have been happier with our decision to hold our love celebration at Overlook Barn!!

This place is gorgeous! The were very accommodating and prompt when I had a question or request (which I had a lot). Everyone I met through the process was very nice. Karen was wonderful to work with in the days leading up to the big day. Chairs and tables are provided, and you have the reins when it comes to set up. Let your creative flag fly, because no matter how elaborate or simple you want your decor to be (or how big/small your guest list is), it's going to look great. You can't put a price on the view and barn interior. And with a neighboring hotel, you can sleep at night knowing your guests are going to be safe and don't have to travel back down the mountain after the reception.

The staff at Overlook Barn are phenomenal! The whole team was so great to work with and always there when we needed assistance! Every single aspect of the barn is just breathtaking! The morning of our wedding the temperature took a 30 degree plunge and there wasn't anything less than everyone onboard to help us completely reconfigure our set up and they went over and beyond to get us additional heaters! We are so thankful and blessed we were able to have our wedding at Overlook Barn!

Overlook is a dream!

Absolutely fell in love with this venue as soon as I saw it! The views, barn, pavilion and staff are all amazing! Karen and team are very responsive and helpful. Our wedding turned out beautiful! I would highly recommend Overlook to everyone!!!

This venue is everything and more!

This venue truly provides the complete package – professional staff, versatility, and of course amazing beauty. Pandemic wedding planning for our Sept. 2020 wedding was challenging, but I was so grateful to have chosen Overlook as we decided to proceed. They kept us up-to-date on changing state guidelines and were proactive in making changes to operating procedures as well as physical changes to the property in order for weddings to be conducted in as safe a manner as possible. We fully utilized the new outdoor covered pavilion for our reception and we were able to have most of our celebration outside, keeping us and our guests safe. Karen and Katie were responsive to questions as we worked through the details of the wedding and accommodated extra visits to the venue pre-wedding to work through safety procedures. In a challenging time for wedding planning, Overlook assured us that it was still possible to have a beautiful and safe wedding. And of course, Overlook did not disappoint on our wedding day with providing a beautiful and fun space to celebrate and we received so many positive comments from guests. Highest recommendations for Overlook Barn!
