If I could give Kristin and the Opihi Love team more than 5 stars, I would.
From the very beginning, Kristin was absolutely incredible. She guided us through every step of the planning process, helped us navigate decisions big and small, and somehow made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel exciting and manageable. She found us the BEST vendors, kept us on budget, and consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were getting the wedding we dreamed of.
Kristin also has an amazing eye for design. She took our ideas and vision and elevated them into something even more beautiful than we could have imagined. She truly helped us create the event of a lifetime - not just for us, but for our family and friends as well.
One of the things we appreciated most was how responsive and accommodating Kristin and her team were. We definitely had some quirky requests and unique ideas, and they handled every single one seamlessly and without hesitation.
And then there was the wedding day itself. It was honestly unbelievable. Kristin and her team executed everything flawlessly behind the scenes. The entire day ran so smoothly that we never had to worry about a single detail. They anticipated needs before we even knew we had them, solved problems without us ever noticing, and allowed us to be completely present and soak in every moment of our wedding day.
We cannot thank Opihi Love enough for creating a day that exceeded every expectation we had. Hiring them was hands down one of the best decisions we made. If you're looking for a planner who is organized, creative, responsive, and genuinely invested in making your wedding unforgettable, look no further.

Working with Opihi Love was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding! I honestly don’t even know where to start because they went so far above and beyond anything I ever could have imagined from a planning team!!
They didn’t just plan a wedding, they gave us the gift of actually enjoying it. Everything was handled so seamlessly that I felt completely taken care of the entire weekend. They went above and beyond with every detail, from letting me ship all my welcome bag items to their house, to returning alcohol for us after the wedding, to literally assembling tiny name tags from Etsy that showed up unassembled (which I would’ve lost my mind over on my own).
They’re insanely organized, calm under pressure, so kind, and their design skills are on another level. I came in with a loose vision and what they created was more beautiful than I ever could have dreamed. Everything felt intentional, elevated, and just perfect. Plus, Kristin and Maxyne are genuinely cool and fun people and I was always excited to hop on calls with them!
People always say something goes wrong at every wedding, but I truly can’t think of a single thing that did at ours. All our friends and family keep telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and they specifically call out how amazing the vendor team and planning were.
I wish I could get married again just to work with them. If you’re lucky enough to have Opihi Love plan your wedding, you are in the best possible hands! -

Opihi Love is the clear choice!
Kristin helped us plan our dream wedding at Olowalu Plantation House on Maui in May. She was (and is) incredible.
After interviewing over five local wedding planners, Kristin was the clear choice for us because of her organizational skills, local connections, and reputation on the island. We feel so lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to work with her.
My husband and I have demanding jobs with long and unpredictable hours, so it was important to have a planner that takes initiative and communicates effectively. Throughout the planning process Kristin did exactly this. She is incredibly responsive, not to mention easy and fun to talk to. She set clear timelines with objectives. She always worked within our budget and vision. Because of her, our wedding planning was seamless, easy, and stress free. And, the execution was flawless. She took our dreams and made it a reality.

I genuinely could not recommend Kristin Agbayani enough for your wedding planning needs. It’s hard to put into words how much of a lifesaver and rock she was for me throughout the entire process.
First, here’s the kind of bride I am: a satisficier without much of a design eye, that wanted someone I could trust to guide me & give me recs throughout the process. I met Kristin because she planned my friend Julie’s wedding in Maui the prior year, and I loved the work she did so much that when my fiance and I thought about Hawaii, I reached out and booked her immediately.
Here’s what you can expect working with Kristin:
1. Organization and details to a tee - she’ll keep you on track with everything you need. I never had to think, “am I forgetting about X?”, because Kristin was on top of it!
2. Timely responses and communication - whether via text, email, or through the portal - Kristin never missed a message and always responded quickly. Nothing like those “2 week wait” response time horror stories I had heard from friends.
3. Real talk - she’ll shoot you straight, whether it’s about budget, vendors she trusts vs. ones she’s heard mixed reviews about, or if you’re running a design element by her. Because I trusted Kristin so much, I never researched vendor options outside of the ones that she sent me.
That was all in the planning process, and I’m now just getting to the grand finale: the wedding day. We picked Hawaii in July, at an outdoor-only venue, because of the highest likelihood of good, sunny weather. Well, on our wedding day, it drizzled and poured rain for an hour - right before our ceremony was supposed to start. I felt a strange sense of calm throughout it all. One, because it wasn’t anything we could control. Two, because Kristin was there keeping us grounded and calm. She had all of our guests mingle underneath the tent, opened the bar early for cocktail hour, and got them cheery and in a good mood to cheer us on whether it be raining, drizzling, or cloudy when we started. The good jujus worked - once we started our delayed ceremony, it didn’t rain a single drop!
I’ve had friends tell me that bad planners have constantly hounded them throughout their wedding day to tell them they’re behind. Kristin only checked in with me when she needed me, and despite the delay - said we were ahead of schedule at one point! I put complete trust into her and would recommend her 10/10, any day, to any bride.
My sweet dad said after the wedding: "That was the best day of my whole life." Kristin made it happen - for my husband, for me, and for my dad. You will be so lucky to work with Kristin if you choose to! She’s family now. -

The Best Wedding Planner a Girl Can Ask For!
Kristin and her team are a dream come true! When I contacted her to shop around for a destination wedding planner in Maui, she was the one I felt was reasonable about expectations. She made wedding planning so easy and effortless that my friends and family would ask me, and I was never genuinely stressed about it. Kristin was not only able to help us plan with the rest of our vendor's time when we made a trip out to the island, but she was able to answer many of our questions and help me make our vision a reality. We happened to be one of the couples who were anxiously waiting to see if we could still have our wedding as the Maui fires damaged a lot of the island. She is so professional that she already had a Plan B & C for everything planned. She had already contacted all our vendors, was figuring it out, and had plans in case we needed to change it. We were lucky and didn't have to change anything; it was amazing on the day of the wedding. I can not stop raving about her and her team because our wedding was executed flawlessly. All our friends who are getting married asked us about our wedding planner and the team because they were shocked at how well the wedding was planned and executed since they have been to multiple weddings. I don't know what else to say if that doesn't tell you how good of a planner she is! I highly recommend her and her team to anyone planning to marry on Maui. She is worth every penny and more! -

Exceptional Experience
We met with other planners, but were turned off by opaque pricing and cookie cutter services. From our very first meeting with Kristin, she was open, honest, and truthfully felt like a long lost family member. She (seemingly) effortlessly helped us navigate the complexities of planning a destination wedding and gave us her full attention and care from start to finish. She even recovered some lost items from the venue days after the reception that one of our guests left behind! When my wife and I reflect on our wedding day and ask "what would we do differently?", the answer is "nothing" because Kristin was able to arrange and execute a perfect wedding. -

Kristin is brilliant. I found her on Instagram and she came highly recommended by the venue. I interviewed a few planners, but as soon as we spoke with Kristin, we immediately knew she was the one! She is creative, thoughtful, honest, and very organized. I challenged Kristin with a large guest list, a picky bride with a particular vision, and a slim budget. She made it all happen and I had a great time planning with her!
I would do it all again. She made wedding planning fun and easy. Kristin completely understood our style and suggested vendors that were spot on. She provides planning tools that are easy to understand and use. Before hiring Opihi Love, I tried to research and do things myself from California but it took a lot of time. If you want things done right, efficiently, and quickly–pick Opihi Love.
Our wedding was flawless, perfect, better than imagined! All our guests keep telling us that it was the best wedding they’ve been to. My husband and I cannot take credit for it, because it was all Kristin and her team. Call/email her immediately to see for yourself! -

Kristin and Opihi Love is undoubtedly one of the best decision we made for our destination wedding in Maui. From the beginning, she was honest, detailed, organized, communicative, and listened to all of our ideas and wishes. From our initial call, I felt that she cared about our vision and making our day something exceptional. I honestly never felt stressed leading up to the day which is huge since we were planning a wedding in a place we’d only briefly visited once before.
Our wedding day was a dream come true and I know we would not have had the absolute best day without her. It has been 5 months already and we still get compliments from friends and family about how amazing our wedding was and I owe it all to Kristin. I’m not sure I can offer enough praise or gratitude for her service, her dedication to making our day the most magical day, but if you are thinking of a wedding in Maui, Opihi Love is the one decision that doesn’t need to be tough to make and I guarantee a decision you wont regret! -

I contacted Kristin after receiving a recommendation on the island. My husband and I knew we wanted to get married in Maui, but it was all about finding a trustworthy person to help us navigate through the wedding planning chaos. I immediately went to the Opihi website and fell in love with her overall vibe and the type of weddings she's planned. From our very first chat, I felt like I was talking to my best friend. Kristin is very detail orientated, she is so calm and will help you navigate through the stress of planning a wedding. Kristin's vendors were also absolutely amazing. She knows everyone on the island, and you will not be disappointed with her rolodex of vendors. We felt so taken care of from the food vendor to the photographers to the florist. Our wedding was absolutely stunning. There were so many things that I was so indecisive about but Kristin really held my hand through it all. It was very nerve-wracking planning a wedding from a distance but I'm telling you everything was magical and perfect when we arrived for the wedding. Our guests left saying that it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I honestly credit that to Kristin and her team. Wow, wow, wow, wow. There simply are not enough words to describe the incredible experience we had planning our destination wedding with Kristin from Opihi Love. Firstly, my husband and I got engaged before the pandemic, so we were shopping around for three years before we settled on a date and location. We eventually decided to get married on Maui, where my husband and I met. I researched extensively and interviewed just about every wedding planner on the island. Opihi Love came highly recommended by another local vendor whose aesthetic I adored, and (after thoroughly stalking her Instagram) when we finally spoke, I knew it was kismet. Her demeanor is so down to earth and fun, her taste is impeccable, her designs are fresh and creative, and most importantly, the planning process was STESS FREE. I enjoyed every moment of the wedding planning process and wish we could do it again.
Kristin was prompt, straightforward, and always served our best interest. When it came down to the nitty gritty decisions that we were struggling to make (catering was a tough one), Kristin provided us with her honest and unabridged insight, which allowed us to feel confident and in control of the decisions we were making. This in turn made us feel incredibly comfortable with how we were allocating our budget, and even more so, to feel excited about our investment. Kristin was our cheerleader through every step of the process.
I am a highly visual person and had some pretty eclectic ideas so I was struggling to imagine how everything would come together. When it came time for the design process, Kristin provided me draft visuals that were professional, beautiful, utilizing the latest technology, and super easy to digest and assimilate.
On top of that, Kristin was highly collaborative. I decided to surprise my husband with a tasteful Star Wars theme, and she took everything in stride. I was amazed with her ability to source items, practice restraint where it was needed, and execute the overall vision. She made decisions when we were struggling and gave us the creative freedom where we needed it. Our wedding was a dream come true.
My guests are still talking about our wedding months later, and telling us “it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to”!!
I feel so fortunate to be able to say that I enjoyed our destination wedding planning process, and the day itself, and I know I have Kristin to thank for that. She even gave us advice for our honeymoon that landed us on Lana’i for one of the most memorable experience of our lives. Kristin is a real gem, and I can not recommend her enough.
When the time for the dress rehearsal finally came and Kristin and I met for the first time, it felt more like I was meeting an old friend than someone I had never met. I am forever grateful to have worked with Kristin. Our entire experience wouldn’t be what it was without her. She was always in our corner and advocated for us no matter what. She is truly the best, and will have your back in your wedding day. If you are looking for that five star luxury wedding planning experience, look no further… OPIHI LOVE IS IT. -

I cannot recommend Kristin enough. Planning a wedding from California was nerve wracking but I found Kristin through instagram and immediately felt trust in her from day one during our initial phone appointment. There are truly no words to fully express how thankful we are to Kristin and her Opihi Love team! The first step we took when beginning the daunting task of planning a cross-country wedding in the middle of a global pandemic was securing a planner. From our first conversation with Kristin, we knew she was the perfect fit for us! We truly felt like we could trust her with the most special day of our lives.
Needless to say, she did not disappoint. Kristin is more than a wedding planner; she became a friend throughout this whole process. Her laid back personality took away our stress even with the ever-changing COVID regulations. She truly listened to us and somehow read our minds even when we weren’t always clear about the vision for our wedding day! I remember a few weeks before the wedding I started to freak out about logistics and last minute details and after a phone call with Kristin, all the stress instantly went away!
As soon as we arrived in Maui, we got to enjoy every moment with our friends and family without wedding stress all thanks to Kristin and her team. I will never forget the feeling of seeing how beautiful everything came together on our wedding day. It brings me to tears even thinking about it!!
I would recommend Opihi Love to all of our friends, family and truly any couple getting married. Do yourself a HUGE favor and hire them. When I was looking for vendors, I wanted to find detailed reviews to help me make my decision. I also believe when companies are as great as this one, they deserve to be recognized for their excellence. I can’t tell you how impressed me, my husband, and all our wedding guests were with Opihi Love. My husband and I got married May 4th, 2019, and to say it was our dream wedding is an understatement. We started wedding planning a year in advance with Kristin. I am a type A person, so planning a wedding from 1,200 miles away scared me to death. Despite being the type of person that wants to control everything and one that stresses over a budget, I decided to let go and put all my trust in Kristin. Thank goodness I did, because Kristin delivered our dream wedding.
Design. Kristin created the entire design from a few things I said, and from a few pins on Pinterest. I don’t know how she does it, but she’s a genius. She truly listens to you, so your wedding day will be the creation you dreamt of. We got everything we wanted on our “want” list, and she even had surprises for us on the wedding day, that we had no idea about! (My favorite surprise were the Bride and Groom chairs)
Planning. Kristin was prompt and organized through out the entire planning process. She was on top of everything, and even planned for things that could happen. It rained on our wedding day, which normally is a bride’s worst nightmare. Kristin had three different tents and design options already put in place two days before the wedding ready to go if need be. We waited until the day before to decide to change and place the reception under this amazing sperry tent. She handled the “crisis” so effortlessly. When I say I had no stress with the planning, I literally had none. There was even a point closer to the wedding when I asked myself and Kristin, “I should be stressed like a crazy person right now, right?!” I will say one thing to type A brides, you have to let go and trust your planner. It’s a lot easier said than done, but for anyone that’s planning with Opihi Love or thinking about hiring them, you are in great hands with Kristin.
Budget. If you are looking into getting married in Maui, you are probably already aware it’s going to cost some money. It was a dream of my husbands and mine to get married in Maui, but we had a budget. I promise you can have a beautiful wedding in Maui, and keep it within a budget. Kristin was aware of our budget, and respected it throughout the planning process. She will create a beautiful wedding, and respect your budget.
Character. The last thing I have to say about Kristin at Opihi Love, is just how amazing Kristin in. She put up with my countless questions and emails for over 12 months. She made decision making painless, she reassured me when I needed it, and she genuinely cared about our wedding. Yes, wedding planners get busy when other weddings are happening, and you have to respect that. If she was busy one week with another wedding, she would always reply to me, and let me know. I was never left in the dark. When it came to my wedding week, and even weeks leading up to my wedding, our wedding had her focus. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, she allowed us to ship all our wedding stuff to her address so we wouldn’t have to fly with it. Lastly, the night before the wedding, she was at Target getting straws for our guest’s coconuts because I had forgotten to buy them... Kristin goes above and beyond for her brides, and I am so glad I was blessed enough to have her plan my wedding. After my wedding had ended, I was actually sad that I wouldn’t be in weekly contact with her anymore. We are already planning our one year anniversary trip back to Maui. We will be meeting up with Kristin to celebrate with her again, because she became that special to us! -

Opihi Love was recommended to me by a friend who previously used their planning services for her wedding at the same venue - Olowalu Plantation House, Maui. My husband and I are so happy we listened to this recommendation because our day would not have been the same without them, specifically Melissa and Kristin.
I will just say that Maui vendors are not prompt in responding to emails or calls at all. You have to bug them and pester, as I came to realize most people there are on "Maui time." Melissa and Kristin do NOT fall into this stereotype! It was so refreshing to hear back from them on the same day in most cases via email, text or phone call. They were completely accessible from a year (and a half) out, up until the day of my wedding.
I did not particularly want to plan all the nitty-gritty details of my wedding (ex: table number cards, etc) - i just don't have the mind for that. Luckily, these ladies have great taste so I didn't need to worry at all about those details coming together and working cohesively with the parts of the wedding I did care more about planning (flowers, colors, etc). I now look back at photos of a beautiful setting with details Opihi took care of without me even thinking of them.
A big factor in the week-of planning was the weather. (mid-February) Rain was coming, as I dreaded, and I was staunchly against having tents up at all. I didn't want them to block the guests' view of the gorgeous Maui mountains, ocean, and greenery. Melissa and Kristin convinced me that we should have tents on standby just in case. Well, the rain came down just as we started dinner, and though most of my guests embraced Maui's "natural wonders," there were some who would rather stay dry. I swear, these ladies are ninjas, because the next thing I knew, tables and all number of sofas and chairs had swiftly been set up under gorgeous white tents, and we were continuing with the speeches as though the skies had never opened up. I ended up loving the tents, as now my guests were brought closer together, barefoot, on a dance floor of grass. I wouldn't have had those tents without Opihi's insistence and experience. I'm so thankful they persisted (despite my stubbornness!) as they really saved my wedding!
Overall, I would, and have, recommended Opihi Love to anyone I know who has expressed interest in a Maui wedding. Their connections to the local vendors was invaluable. I don't like having too many options to pick from, so having Melissa and Kristin narrow down my choices to 2 or 3 vendors for each need was super helpful. They seemed to know all the vendors personally - the perks of an island! - and could really help us when it came to booking services and getting elusive vendors to respond.

When my husband and I first decided we wanted to have a destination wedding, we were really excited about it...and then we started planning! We quickly realized that planning a wedding in Oahu from Atlanta was going to take a lot more coordination and attention that we thought, and we couldn't do it alone. We needed an Ace up our sleeve to make it happen! I'd seen Opihi Love's work in an editorial, and I loved their mix of modern and romantic (with that perfect touch of boho). I knew they were the ones I wanted to help us plan our wedding, and they did not disappoint! Dream Team
I found Opihi Love off of a Pinterest wedding I fell in love with. I knew I needed the same planner for my wedding. I contacted Opihi Love via email and soon after we set up an initial phone conversation to discuss details of their planner services and what was to be expected form them. I felt so uplifted after that thorough conversation with Melissa. I felt an instant "click" with her and had complete trust in her abilities. I was so excited about our wedding and confident she could pull it off perfectly. We booked the full service planning and it was one of our larger wedding investments, however, it was the best investment we made!
Over the next 15 months, Melissa and Kristin were with me through every step of the planning process. We shared Pinterest boards and photos so they could get a feel for our style and vibe. They made a design board that just took my breath away when I saw it. It completely reflected my vision for my wedding. When friends asked how planning was going and commented on how difficult it must be because of the destination aspect, I would tell them that this has actually been the least stressful part because of the amazing team I had. Melissa and Kristin made it easy being the bride. Their relationships with the wedding vendors are invaluable. They've done these weddings at these locations with these vendors a million times and they are truly experts in their field. Kristin, especially, and I were emailing constantly. Almost every day in the three months leading up to the wedding, we had contact. Last minute changes didn't faze them and they helped me find alternatives or compromises no problem. I would highly, highly recommend Opihi Love to future brides and grooms. They were the best investment I made during my entire wedding and I know 100% that I would have spent much more money had I tried doing it alone. When I reflect on my wedding, I am so thankful they were there and I give them full credit for how smooth and seamless it went. Advice to future brides and grooms: when planning a destination wedding, you MUST release control and put your faith in the team you hire, otherwise you'll go crazy. It is just the nature of the situation. Being a type-A person, this was completely against every fiber in my body but I trusted Opihi Love and gave them the driver's seat and I couldn't be happier with the planning and execution of my wedding. -

My fiancé and I knew we wanted to get married in the Hawaiian islands but didn’t quite know when or where to start our planning process. Cue our search for a wedding planner & my delve into the enchantment of Opihi Love’s website. From here grew my appreciation of everything dreamed by Melissa Padilla…Her taste is impeccable, & her wedding creations are the quality you only see in magazines. After reviewing Melissa’s work, I sent an inquiry (aka begged her) to help design my wedding. When she called me, she was so sweet, down to earth, & genuinely excited for me. I knew she was “the one.” ;-)
Over the next two years Melissa worked SO HARD for us. We exchanged phone calls, text messages, emails, & did facetime meetings on the internet or over lunch on Oahu and Maui. We did site visits with her on almost all the islands and she came with us to food tastings and floral design meetings. She was always there to lend a helping hand in the planning process, give advice, set up meetings, make the most of my budget, & sort through the jungle of my eclectic design ideas. When I was with Melissa, she made me feel like the most important bride in the whole world. She had such great energy & enthusiasm & was professional but also fun and fresh. She was full of wedding wisdom and creative ideas.
After about a year into planning my wedding (and probably a ton of other weddings I had no idea about) Melissa hired her perfect “other half,” Kristin. Kristin is smart, dedicated, and organized…she was (and is) an incredible edition to Opihi Love. I literally did not need or want for ANYTHING when Kristin was around because she was so attentive & responsive.

Danielle Sent on 01/16/2018Opihi Love literally brought my dream Maui wedding to life. Melissa took the time to get to know me, understand my wedding vision, and did everything she could to make it a reality. She was so much fun to work with too!! Planning my wedding was not an easy task as we planned this destination wedding for 100 people in 4 months at a venue where we had to bring in everything, shuttle guests, organize logistics for, and plan a rehearsal dinner. Melissa pulled together an all star team of vendors to fit my exact wedding needs. She's also great at negotiating better exceptions to make the impossible happen for you. Every suggestion she made was on point. Melissa's design skills are off the charts amazing and creative. The day of event was basically flawless, Melissa & Kristen (who is great to work with too!) were on sight all day/night making sure everything ran smoothly. Melissa put a lot of work and time into my wedding, and went over every detail with me on sometimes almost two hour phone calls every couple weeks at first and then every week as it got closer. Any doubt or worry I had was cleared up as soon as we touched based. She was also in communication the entire wedding weekend. However, in-between planning phone calls communication is sporadic. If you are a type-A bride (or have type-A parents) who needs constant communication with wedding planner, working with Opihi Love could be challenging. Trust the processes you are in good hands with Melissa.
