    My dream wedding venue!

I can't say enough good things about this place! Kendelle did such an amazing job planning our wedding. The food was delicious! I had many guests tell me how much they loved the look of the hotel and the beautiful view. This was my ideal wedding venue. I couldn't have asked for a better place to get married!

Niagara Crossing Hotel & Spa's reply:

    Jenna,
It was my pleasure! I am so happy for you and Kyle

    AMAZING Wedding experience

Thank you to Kendelle, Chris and team for such an amazing experience. The staff from the beginning were absolutely amazing. Very professional, so helpful and amazing food and service. My husband and I are so lucky to have had our wedding at such a great place. Our guests raved about the rooms, spa service and the great professionalism and friendliness from all the staff. Kendelle helped me from the beginning of the process to the end of the process and can’t thank her and the Niagara Crossing staff enough. You made our day absolutely magical.

Beautiful venue on the Niagara River

Kendelle was so easy to work with! She assisted us with planning a beautiful ceremony and reception during the COVID pandemic. Kendelle and the team at Niagara Crossing assisted us with planning a COVID safe wedding that was so wonderful. The food was SO GOOD! (I highly recommend the glazed carrots!) From the ceremony, the reception, setting things up, the rooms, and the honeymoon suite, everything was done in a professional manner and we couldn't be happier with how are day went!
Thank you all again! Helen and Kyle

I had my wedding ceremony and reception here, and it is the most beautiful venue! The space is simple yet elegant, and requires minimal decorations. I had my ceremony outside on the second floor balcony, but they also have the option for indoor ceremonies. The food was delicious! Kendelle, the wedding coordinator, was more than helpful and went out of her way to make sure the day went as smoothly as possible.

I am so glad I chose the Barton Hill Hotel for my wedding venue. While searching for the perfect place for my reception I became very discourage...nothing out there felt right. That is until I walked into the Barton Hill. It was early December when we first visited and the lobby was beautiful with lights around the pillars and the gorgeous hardwood floors. Nicole the wedding coordinator happened to be there and was available to show me around. She is the greatest! She showed us the reception space and answered a ton of questions. I immediately booked the space with her. The reception hall is pretty but it was the balcony that sold me! We had an early October wedding and we were counting on decent weather to allow guests to get some fresh air. Luckily the weather was great!! Barton Hill allowed us to put lights around the balcony and it was everything I wanted! The food was AMAZING!! I had a taste testing and they made most of the items I wanted to try. It was seriously so hard to pick because they all were great! The salmon, pork chop, and strip steak is what we decided on. People raved about the salmon and pork and smashed potatoes! The food was the best I've had at a wedding by far. Nicole and Kendyll worked so hard to make my day come together as I wanted. They even moved the location of the bar to make my seating chart work!! I had a wedding of 135 people. It was fine for that size but I wouldn't go any larger. Smaller would be great too. Having the hotel rooms there was awesome and so many of our guests got rooms. The rooms are all so pretty. If you are thinking about the Barton Hill as a venue I would say go for it!! I read older reviews and honestly I think it must have been old management or something because I don't have a bad thing to say! They do ask your DJ to turn the music down at 10:00, which I was nervous it would kill the party (as I read in someone's review). But I didn't even notice a change in volume!!!

    beautiful venue with boutique hotel

We had an amazing evening and morning thanks to the fantastic service and great venue. Kendelle was extremely helpful in dealing with those last minute details that needed attention. She was professional and worked tirelessly all night to make the wedding a roaring success! We were looking for a venue with hotel rooms that didn't feel like a wedding factory. Niagara Crossing was a wise choice. Food was enjoyed by everyone, service was attentive, venue was beautiful! The night went perfectly and everyone had a wonderful time. I am so glad we also decided to splurge on a full breakfast the next morning for our out of town guests to have a nice meal before their trip home. It was great to be able to socialize and say goodbye in a private room but what made it worth every penny was the quality of the food served! Kudos to Chris, the chef! Our guests raved about the meals at the wedding and also the delicious breakfast! Thank you to the entire staff and a special shout out to Kendelle and Chris!

I recently had my bridal shower here and it couldn't have been more perfect. The staff is more than accommodating and friendly. I had multiple guests come to me and compliment how good the food was. They were also extremely flexible with the timing of food and how long we utilized the room, as well as making changes to the menu in the planning stages. And not to mention, it's a wonderful location and a great view... a sunny day is an added bonus because it also has a spacious outside patio. I highly recommend Barton Hill as a venue for any wedding needs.

Barton Hill and Hotel is ALL about the beautiful view of the Niagara River! Just gorgeous!
We worked with Nicole throughout the process of scheduling our wedding, both ceremony and reception at Barton Hill Hotel. She was helpful and had advice when we needed it. She gave recommendations for DJ’s & an officiant, since we are from out of town. We used Ultimate Event of WNY for DJ and Sue Olson for our officiant.
All of our guests stayed at the Barton Hill Hotel the night of our event. The only complaints received about the hotel were from those who booked a room by phone. Online booking via our personalized link, was extremely convenient and easy.
Kendelle, who coordinated/worked our wedding, was amazing. She was attentive, helpful , kind and made us feel like it really was OUR night. Dinner came out effortlessly, and the bartender kept the drinks flowing.
    Cons:
    - Our meal selection: The entrée potatoes were different than we tried at the food trial, came out as a home fries type than the smashed potato we had tested and picked.
-There was a small misunderstanding when it came to beer selection- guests were told they couldn’t order a certain kind because it was only for the Bride's father, which was not information that came from us. We had the actual distributor of that brand as guests too, so that caused some anguish at first.
-The bar was not stocked with all brands listed in the Barton’s paperwork, which we were led to believe we only had to request brands desired that were not on the list. Ensure that you clearly state what you’d like to be available at your bar.
-We did have wedding crashers- two guys tried to blend in while drinking beers from our bar, but with a crowd of 55- it’s easy to pick out people we did not know. When we asked them whose wedding they were at and they couldn’t answer, we asked them to leave. Perhaps, Barton Hill should consider a sign that says “Private Event” to try and prevent extra guests.

    Poor quality

Recently had my wedding here. Let me start from the beginning. I got engaged last year, and when we began planning, I always envisioned Lewiston. The location is beautiful, but unfortunately when you enter this venue, you will be very disappointed. The response time/trying to get a hold of the event coordinator (kendell) is slow and impossible. We ended up choosing this vendor because we figured we didn’t need anything super fancy, and it was on the cheaper end (so we thought). Also they could accommodate our dream wedding date, which makes sense now because you can tell they don’t host many weddings. They “renovated”, but you can tell it was cheaply done, and didn’t focus on the important parts of renovating. Even their new floors are ripping up. So anyways let me fast forward to the wedding. Anything we wanted to make our day special was not done. Kendell will try to hype you up, saying you’re getting this amazing deal on the bar package. She said it comes with shots, and said she has designed these amazing drinks and shots with menus. That was a lie. My guests told me they were lucky to have their basic drinks filled up completely. My husband and I wanted to take unity shots (rather than cutting the cake), that did not happen. When we ran out to the dance floor after being announced, no shots. I’m just going to say they didn’t even cut into my cake to serve, the cake was 650$ that went to waste. I feel like Kendell has poor organization skills because it seems everything we discussed in our emails were not done. We talked about the staff cutting into the cake to serve before the wedding. Ugh I am so disappointed about that. Next, the air conditioning. She told us to make sure we keep the doors to the balcony closed so the air conditioning can work. Let me tell you, My guests were so uncomfortable, sticky, and sweaty. The doors remained closed, the air conditioning just doesn’t work. They claim it’s an old building (it was built in 2008). And my response was maybe pay to upgrade the air because it was hot all over the hotel, even in my guests’ rooms. We have all been in old buildings with good air conditioning, it’s a poor excuse. NEXT, the broken doors to the balcony. I’m floored that after this “grand renovation” was done, the doors were still broken. My guests we’re stuck inside and outside, very unfortunate. Ok next, kendell was very rude about a minor issue. If you read reviews people will say “yeah if you’re having fun, she’ll let you keep the party going!” WRONG! I had to pay my DJ hourly, which is fine. Our plan was at 1030, lower the music and clean up, the DJ can keep the music playing until 11. On the wedding day, Kendell went up to my bridal party and said “if that bi*ch plans on keeping this wedding going past 1030, she can expect to cough up a lot of fu*king money”. So instead of talking to me, she wilds up my wedding party. There were a few more minor complaints, but let me fast forward to the next day. We decided to host a next day breakfast because we sold out 24 rooms, we had a lot of over night guests. With how much we paid, that was the saddest excuse for a breakfast I have ever had anywhere. The price was originally $14.99 per guest, but somehow a few days before the wedding it went up to $19.99. We paid an extra 4.99$ for a waffle bar. If you consider a waffle bar eggo frozen waffles then we got exactly what we wanted. My guests we disappointed and We were embarrassed. A lot of them decided to stay that night in hopes of having an amazing breakfast. Let me also add if you like random guests walking through your wedding to get their rooms, or peep on your wedding, this is the place for you!!! Honestly you’re going to spend the same amount of money at the Curtis hotel, just get married there!!!

Pros: the dinner food was good, and I got to marry my best friend.

    Niagara crossing

Not very much flexibility with bar options. Not very responsive with emails. — short staffed, some guests did not receive correct food choice, only one bar, was told we would have 2. Cocktail hour supposed to be outside with cocktail tables. — got the venue and nothing was set up, coordinated made decision herself (didn’t ask me) to have cocktail hour in our reception area. Cake was still boxed on table when guests came in to reception.

    Chaotic and Dissapointing

I put down my deposit to have my wedding here and was excited about the venue. Unfortunately Kendelle, the event coordinator was very rude, aggressive and hostile and cancelled my wedding with it only two weeks away! Her attitude and demeanor was shocking and unprofessional. It was the worst experience I've ever had as a customer. I couldn't believe that a hotel would let their event coordinator treat people like that- but they said that they are short staffed so maybe thats why. If they ever have a new event coordinator then I would recommend the place - but until then, the person who runs the events here is unprofessional and unpredictable.
