Kate did such an amazing job photographing our engagement! She was so easy to work with, professional, and friendly. Kate worked with me beforehand to make sure we were all set up and prepared for the surprise, and things were very seamless on the day of.
During the engagement, she captured every moment perfectly, while ensuring we had ample time to bask in the special moments without any feeling of interruption. When we posed for some pictures shortly after, her experience shined as she gave easy suggestions for what turned out to be magnificent pictures.
After the engagement shoot, I was so impressed with the quality and breadth of photos that Kate captured. She also wrote up a wonderful blog post where her attention to every detail of the proposal was beautifully captured, and this was such a special aspect of our engagement which I hadn't originally realized she includes! Kate also had a really quick turnaround time on our pictures, which was much appreciated.
Overall I cannot recommend Kate and MKM enough for any of your photography needs! -

We are still riding high from our experience with Kate and Mike and MKM Photography. We were drawn to them from their instagram and some rave reviews, but they didn't even begin to do them justice. From start to finish, they were prompt, professional, inclusive, FUN, and above all, so darned talented. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for their wedding photographers. -

I stumbled upon Kate's work either through Reddit or OffBeatBride.com, and from the moment I landed on her website, I knew I had struck gold. While browsing through countless stylized albums featuring the typical wedding imagery, Kate's portfolio stood out like a breath of fresh air. Her photos captured real people, brimming with genuine joy in every frame.
From our very first interaction, Kate felt less like a hired professional and more like a cherished family friend. We spent hours chatting during our prep calls, which not only eased any pre-wedding jitters but also allowed her to truly understand our vision for the day.
On the day of the wedding, Kate and her assistant Tristian seamlessly blended into the festivities, effortlessly capturing every moment without intruding. But it wasn't just about snapping photos – Kate went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. She even carved out time to capture a stylized HBO-showrunner family photo, a cherished memory we'll treasure forever.
Kate's dedication didn't stop there. Despite her busy schedule, she managed to turn around several options for our Christmas card in record time, each one more beautiful than the last. And when we received the final photos, we were blown away. Kate's journalistic eye not only immortalized our special day but transported us back to the excitement and emotion of the moment every time we looked at them.
What truly set Kate apart was her appreciation for our nerdy touches. She seamlessly incorporated subtle Star Trek and space themes into our photos, adding a personal and unique touch that perfectly reflected our personalities.
And let's not forget our two large dogs! Despite their size and energy, Kate worked wonderfully with them, capturing their playful antics with ease and skill.
In Kate, we didn't just find a photographer; we found a storyteller, a friend, and a true artist behind the lens. We can't thank her enough for the priceless memories she's given us.

Kate is an absolute GEM! It was great to work with her for our engagement and wedding photos. It allowed us to get to know each other before the big day which led to a great day of experience. Kate and her husband Mike are a fantastic team and made sure we got the shots we wanted (and even some we didn’t know we wanted). We had an ambitious pre-wedding photo schedule so we could spend as much time as possible with our guests. Kate was flexible and helped to create a timeline that allowed our family and bridal party to spend time enjoying cocktail hour and the venue instead of posing for formal pictures after the ceremony. She is efficient and just the right amount of directive to help make sure the photos are ones you’ll want to share and print and post. We received sneak peeks the day after our wedding and an initial set of previews within just a couple of weeks. We can’t wait to get the full set to relive the best weekend again and again!

awesome and professional experience
Working with MKM Photography for our engagement & wedding was an awesome experience from beginning to end! From our first consultation with Kate, we knew she was professional, thorough, and has an enthusiastic personality to boot. We immediately felt at ease and in good hands. As you can see from their website, MKM Photography is truly passionate and skilled. Providing a variety of settings and lighting, they beautifully captured our love for each other and nature.
We have a very large family and Kate made a point to gain everyone’s names and desired groupings in advance, making the day of go seamlessly! Not only that, but Kate helped us tighten our timeline and provided expert tips that were invaluable and so helpful. She is very communicative and sincerely gets to know the couple. Kate embraced any alternative ideas we had and provided a catalog of pictures that captured the story of our special day.
Kate & Mike are so down to earth and have the experience and knowledge that provides ease of mind. They truly provide stunning photos and are extraordinary to work with! We highly recommend MKM Photography for any occasion. We could not have been more pleased and thankful!

Kate is the most amazing wedding photographer. She captured the essence of the day so perfectly. We wanted our wedding to have a casual go-with-the-flow vibe, and she was able to fit that style not only in the pictures, but in her interactions with us on our wedding day. We wanted to spend very little time being posed and staged, and she made it happen, and somehow caught these amazing pictures in a candid way. We hardly ever noticed her capturing our picture - so stealthy! We did our engagement pictures with her as well, which had the same clean, minimally-retouched feel that we wanted. I couldn't recommend her enough. -

I found Kate through the OffBeat Bride website. We were having an unconventional vow renewal - Pi Day/Space/Marvel-themed - and we wanted a photographer who was as geeky as us, but, had the photography style I was looking for.
Kate and Mike fit all of that and more! Kate was simply amazing to talk with and answered any and all questions. She and her husband, Mike went ABOVE and BEYOND and the results couldn't have been more perfect. I love, love, LOVE how detailed-oriented she is. All the vendors were so impressed with her through timeline.
I am truly thankful for meeting Kate and Mike. They are an amazing team and I would highly recommend them. I need to have another event just so I can hire them again! -

Kate and Mike are not just great photographers but really great people. We are not big on taking pictures and so we wanted someone that made us feel comfortable enough to capture a sophisticated but still appropriately dorky version of us. From our first meeting and engagement session with Kate, she was a delightful human and she put us right at ease.
With Kate and Mike, you get a perfect balance of feeling like they are totally prepared and in control of the situation and yet 100% on board to play around. I'd point at something and say "huh that looks cool" and Kate would respond with "absolutely let's try this angle and see what happens." Kate is also very thorough in running through all of the moments and pictures you want beforehand so you never walk away thinking, "dang I really wish we had a picture with X person."
Some specific fun moments: Kate acting as my mobile purse all day and then producing even more things I didn't know I needed from her magical pockets like Mary Poppins. Kate leading the dancefloor in the Wobble with two cameras slung over her shoulders after I realized I forgot the steps. Mike teaching the guys how to fold pocket squares and then still folding most of them himself :)
You guys are the best. -

AWESOME NC Photographer!!
Kate captured our big day so perfectly and beautifully! It was the most magical, wonderful day of our lives so far and she absolutely nailed it! There just aren't enough words to describe how exceptionally well she captured our wedding.
She's SO much more than just a talented photographer. She's extremely organized, incredibly personable (we had a great time meeting with her to talk about our wedding details and what we wanted), professional, wedding-industry knowledgable, has a great artistic eye and made everyone feel so comfortable! I could go on and on about how awesome she is and we're so happy and lucky to have found her for our wedding day. We will treasure our wedding photos forever! Without a doubt, we hope to use her talents again in the future. 11/10!! -

Kate took our engagement photos a couple months before our wedding and they were great. Neither of us like being on the lens side of a camera and she made us both pretty comfortable and got some amazing shots. That time with her made the wedding day so easy because we were already familiar with her. She and Mike captured everything - all of the little personal details of our day, amazing photos of the ceremony, family photos, grand photos of the two of us and fun pics of the reception. They were always there to capture a moment, but it never felt like they were in the way. They kept us on a tight schedule between the ceremony and reception and we laughed and enjoyed the process with them. Both Kate and Mike are so fun to be around and put us immediately at ease even when getting us into photogenic positions. My husband even commented on how comfortable he was with the cameras and he HATES to have his picture taken. And to top it off, the photos are AMAZING!!! Everyone who has seen them have raved about them and commented about how well they capture us and the love that filled the day. I can't stop scrolling through the previews. I can't wait the see the rest of them!!! We'll be calling MKM for our next photography needs! -

Kate with MKM Photography has done an amazing job with our crazy wedding situation. She was very flexible when we kept our ceremony on our original date and moved our main contract to next year for our reception. From engagement photos to our wedding she has been so organized and always gets photos back to us so quickly. She also works with you one-on-one to create a shot list to make sure she doesn't miss anything on your big day. Her photos are so beautiful and we love them! -

Kate was absolutely amazing to work with! Organizing a wedding across the country is never easy but when you add in the additional anxiety of being a same-sex couple, the task becomes that much harder. Kate however made the whole experience a true delight. She was extremely responsive via email, made herself available to talk over Skype, and met with us in-person to go over final details less than a week before our wedding. Day of, her and her husband Mike worked their magic, cat herding our family together for various photos; then just simply being part of the party taking all the photos. Their photos really captured our special day so beautifully and we are so thrilled we had the chance to work with them. 100%, would recommend! -

We are absolutely thrilled with the photos Kate and Mike captured of our wedding day. From the beginning, Kate was proactive in being sure that she knew exactly what we wanted from our photos. She was responsive to our questions and super easy to communicate with. She was also so flexible and understanding of our wedding date change (to which we owe her and Mike a huge thanks)!
We received a beautiful array of photos, a perfect mix of portraiture and candid shots. Mike and Kate are a dream duo, capturing the same moment from different angles (the shots of our ceremony are especially wonderful for this reason). The photos are also tastefully edited, not at all over-processed but rather remaining authentic to our memory of the day.
On top of all that, we received photos back less than a month after our wedding (and in the middle of wedding season, to boot!). Mike and Kate's down-to-earth vibes made them a pleasure to be around and we feel so fortunate they were able to photograph our wedding. We highly recommend! -

Let me just start by saying Kate is an absolute joy to work with! She's funny, down to earth, and super sweet! She did our engagement photos which turned out beautifully and our wedding photos were even more gorgeous! She was very responsive and answered any questions I had and made recommendations in areas where I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted yet. She was able to manage our crazy families for family photos and got great shots of our kiddos too! Her husband Mike got some really incredible shots as well and was great at getting the guys together for some shots with the groom. I would absolutely recommend this dynamic duo to anyone in search of photographers for wedding/engagement/family/anything!!! -

What we didn’t know at the time of booking Kate and her husband was the amount of detail, time and energy they would put into making our special day the best day. From Skype meetings, to planning meetings in person over coffee, they really took the time to get to know me and my husband’s style of how we wanted things. What makes them over the top awesome, is the amount of effort they went through to making sure our album was exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend Kate and Mike to help you capture the best moments of your biggest life events!

Kate was such a gem for me, because I was an out of town bride and wasnt familiar with the Triangle AT ALL and she answered all of my texts and questions (even when they weren't photography related!!) So graciously and very quickly, even early in the morning and often late at night (sorry Kate!!). And not only that, but the puctures came out BEAUTIFULLY. I love their casual style, even all the posed pictures were made to feel natural and fun. And the candids. This couple can capture a special moment anywhere, and all of my guests loved the dancing shots. These two were certainly my favorite to work with and I looked forward to every meeting and shoot with them! -

With so many photographers to choose from, for me it came down to personality, and Kate has one that perfectly meshed with me and my husband's sarcastic cheeky sense of humor. We knew we had made the right decision after our engagement shoot in the American Tobacco area with her. We not only came away with fantastic photos of the two of us, Kate made it a pleasurable experience and made us feel relaxed. Even through having her wonderful bundle of joy, Kate maintained connection with us to schedule bridal photos and confirm details for the wedding day. Each and ever single one of our photos from our wedding day is perfect- our friends and family cannot find a bad photo in the bunch, and look as if they came out of a magazine. With the added bonus of having her husband Mike along for the wedding day, they were able to be everywhere they needed to be and capture all moments from getting ready to dancing the night away. Kate was more like a friend than a hired professional and we are truly grateful to have had her and her husband be a part of our wedding. We received photos back promptly within the designated time frame and did not have any issues scheduling meeting with Kate when needed. Photographs are what keep the memory of your wedding day alive- with Kate's photos on our walls we will relive that day everyday. -

Considering that both of us were both living in NYC for over a decade, we still held onto our hip and trendy ideals. We both knew what we were looking for, but hadn’t quite found it yet. All of the other photographers we met were either too conservative or lacking a certain quality that made them stand out. Then, we met Kate Marchetto of MKM Photography. She immediately clicked with us, and always had a smile on her face. She asked the right questions and before too long, she knew what we were going for. We also trusted her expertise in getting the “right” shots. She’s very personable, professional, and knows what to look for at a wedding to get the memorable shots. She processes what she captures so that the best lighting, color, and energy comes alive in every single photograph. We would definitely recommend her to anyone about to tie the knot!
