The key to a stress-free day is MB!

We worked with Megan Tomke for our month-of/day-of coordination, and I can honestly say once she came on board that month prior, I could physically feel my stress melt away. I am very much a planner, and I was initially worried about handing over the reins to someone else, but once we had our first call with Megan and saw how capable, knowledgeable, organized and dog-loving she was, I was SO glad I had found MB and trusted them with our big day! Megan took over communicating with all the vendors re: logistics (including our pet attendant so our two pups could be a part of our day!), and it really allowed me to focus on the fun details the month before the wedding. She was there when I needed advice on various things leading up to the wedding and helped us navigate some last-minute changes that needed to be made the day before and the day-of. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that my wedding weekend would have been 100x more stressful if I did not have Megan there to help. Book Midwestern Bride -- you won't regret it!

Best wedding decision we made!!

We are so grateful to have had Ashley as our wedding planner!! We were able to put our complete trust in her and actually enjoy the wedding planning process. She went above and beyond to help us secure room blocks during an unusually busy Milwaukee weekend, and she helped us assemble a team of the best vendors. She helped us make design choices and worked with our amazing florist to create a wedding even more beautiful than we imagined. When an unexpected rain shower threatened our outdoor ceremony, Ashley guided us confidently. She helped us make the decision to do 30 minutes of cocktail hour and then head outside to do our ceremony when the rain passed. And when the rain began again in the middle of our ceremony, she rushed out with umbrellas and got as many guests covered as possible. My husband and I were able to stay present in the moment knowing Ashley had it handled. It ended up feeling so magical. We absolutely recommend Ashley and the Midwestern Bride team!!

Megan was amazing!

Although our wedding venue provided a venue coordinator, we felt that it would be helpful to also have a wedding planner to coordinate moving parts outside of the venue and we are SO glad we did! We worked with Megan for the final month of coordination and she truly did a phenomenal job! She is kind, detail-oriented, has exceptional communication skills and went above and beyond to make sure any loose ends were tied up among vendors- I felt totally confident that she could handle anything thrown our way on the day of. Overall, our wedding day was a HUGE success and we surely have Megan to thank for it :)

Lauren is simply amazing!

Lauren is simply amazing! We hired Midwestern Bride for the month of coordination package. I consider myself an organized person and I handled all the planning up until that point, but I am so glad we invested in a planner. The final month leading up to the wedding is stressful even for the most organized bride, and having a person to help alleviate some of the burden and be a sounding board is worth every penny! We had originally picked a different planner, but due to unexpected life changes, we were assigned Lauren a few months out. I'll be honest, being Type A and a slight control freak, I was nervous but she knocked it out of the park! Lauren's main goal was allowing the bride and groom to enjoy the day and not be bothered with any questions or issues. I felt so at ease the entire day and knew she'd handle anything that came her way. You'd be surprised how many people come up to the bride to ask questions and it was such a stress reliever to just say, "Can you please go ask Lauren?". I would HIGHLY recommend Lauren to any bride considering a planner!

Worth Every Penny

We hired Ashley a few months before our September wedding for both design and coordination. Ashley went above and beyond to help us find the perfect vendors during a difficult year. She also helped with almost all design components. Ashley worked with our florist to create such a beautiful vision. She was worth every.single.penny.

Ashley also made wedding planning fun. Most of the process up until we began working with Ashley was overwhelming and completely outside our comfort zone. Our discussions and planning with Ashley made the process enjoyable.

Ashley also made everything seamless on the day of. While a few things went wrong, she worked to make sure we didn't realize it (and we didn't!) The day was executed perfectly and it was a relief to be able to leave the venue that night knowing she was taking care of everything. We cannot recommend Ashley & Midwestern Bride enough.

The best!!

We had Ashley as our "month of" coordinator and if you ask me my biggest regret about our wedding, it would be that we didn't just hire Midwestern Bride to plan the entire thing from the beginning. If you are like me and get massively overwhelmed with all of the planning and coordination that comes with hosting an event… HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER! I felt like my life was just descending into chaos and then Ashley swooped in and lifted all of the weight off my shoulders in the last month - and so effortlessly! I have absolutely no idea what I would have done without her. She created a detailed wedding day schedule and coordinated all of the vendors using her years of experience rather than needing a ton of input from me (thank goodness because I was clueless about the timeline), but was always available to call or text if I had questions or changes. She also ran our rehearsal like a total boss and it was at that point I felt like I could breathe and just enjoy the weekend knowing everything would be okay. I am a person who constantly focuses on the worst case scenario so the fact that I could just relax and let go is saying a lot, but she was so comforting! If something went wrong, I definitely never heard about it. From our first interaction I trusted her fully and I'm sure the rest of her staff is just as amazing. Obviously all wedding vendors are important, but in hindsight I now realize that a coordinator or planner can be make or break. I have only incredible memories of my wedding day and I truly would not have enjoyed myself as much as I did without Ashley and Midwestern Bride. I can’t recommend them enough!

Book Kanoe as your wedding coordinator!

Kanoe was amazing as our "month of coordinator" and truly one of our biggest blessings looking back at our wedding. After a two and a half year engagement and an extra year postponement due to COVID, being able to off load the final month of wedding planning was such a gift. I am very Type A and organized, so I was a little nervous handing over the reins, but I knew after my first conversation with Kanoe that we were in great hands. She is extremely personable, detail oriented, down to earth, but at the same time very "no nonsense", essentially the perfect wedding planner. She does not push her opinions, but helps you make final decisions if you are having a hard time. She answered all my emails in an extremely timely manner and was even able to in the final week before our wedding secure our late night snack vendor that we were having trouble reaching for months. She was poised and in control our entire day and truly did not allow me to worry about anything, even if I tried! She kept in mind our hope to not spend too much time taking photos after dinner and came to get us for our first dances so our timeline did not get too thrown off. She also saved the day with a handful of safety pins when my dress broke with about an hour left in the night. I swear I had barely looked up after feeling it break and there she was already fixing the problem. We have gotten so many compliments about how beautiful our day was and I truly think Kanoe was a big part of that. She made our vision come to life. I would 100/10 recommend her to anyone.

A Beautiful Intimate Wedding During a Global Pandemic!!!!

Brides (and grooms!), Stop reading and hire Midwestern Bride!! Ashley is worth her weight in gold! We LOVED working with Ashley. She is truly an expert at what she does. Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Ashley provided such a calming presence and a clear dedication to us, especially during a pandemic!!! She never steered us wrong or made us feel like we had to do something. My husband and I live in Milwaukee so we were planning this wedding in Minneapolis. Ashley communicated beautifully with us (bride, groom) and our vendors. She worked around our travel schedule and always responded to our emails promptly. She answered all of the questions we threw at her and she gave her opinion in a very professional manner. On the day of our wedding, Ashley helped in more ways than we even know. She prevented disaster, a few things came up with our vendors the day of and we did not even notice because she fixed everything. She allowed us to enjoy our entire day! So happy I had Ashley at my wedding

I hired Ashley a year and a half before my wedding, actually the week after my sister’s wedding when I saw her work first hand. She impressed me that much.
“Do I need a wedding planner?” a bride (or groom) may ask. Surely it is an added expense but the best way I can describe Ashley’s services is that she allows the bride and groom to feel like a guest at their own wedding. We had a meeting about a month before wedding when she went over EVERYTHING. She then followed up with all vendors to make sure everything was addressed and made a timeline (which is a lot harder than it seems). I had a lot of decorations planned and knew I was going to need someone to move them. A budgeting technique of mine was to reuse the ceremony decorations again in the ballroom. Ashley set up the ceremony and then moved it all to the ballroom. And not only was she spot on with decorations, she made sure the rest of the wedding went without problems. Once the wedding was over and guests were transitioning to cocktail hour, she was there asking us if we needed anything. She showed up during professional pictures outside of just the groom and I with waters (almost on que when photographer asked us if we had plenty of water during the day). She brought me appetizers and wine while my hair and make up got touched up. She came running into the ballroom to inform us of an unique photo opportunity (a rainbow). She was really there for EVERYTHING and I was almost stress free thanks to her and her team. Trust me brides (and grooms), her service is something that is worth it- I promise. Also, I commend her for her response to COVID and the postponement of our wedding. She allowed a change date without added charges or headache.

Best Wedding Investment!

Today is my husband and I's 2nd wedding anniversary. To this day, we talk about Ashley and her company. Going into wedding planning we didn't intend to have a wedding or day of coordinator but I'm so glad our vendor, The Lageret, recommended that we do. From start to finish, Ashley was clear, helpful, accommodating, resourceful, the list goes on an on. Any concerns that I had, she was quick to help with or find solutions for. Even with issues that came up the day before/day of, she took care of with ease and made sure it was nothing that my husband and I had to worry about. We had so much confidence in her! She works with new vendors without concern and makes sure all the vendors and wedding party were on the same page. Even 2 years later, when people talk about our wedding, it is always mentioned how it flowed so well, how everything seemed taken care of before anyone noticed, all of this goes to Ashley and Midwestern Bride. We've recommended her to friends getting married in (and out!) of the area multiple times. She made our wedding more than we could've imagined!!

Made the last month a breeze

We worked with Hannah from Midwestern Bride. We bought the "month of" package and that worked well for us since we had our venue and vendors chosen. We needed someone to help coordinate the small details which is exactly what Hannah did.

We began by having a 90 minute call in which we gave Hannah our vendor contacts and put together a very detailed itinerary. It took several calls over the following weeks to finalize the itinerary, but in the end she helped us decide details we would not have thought of on our own. Simple things like processional order, family photo lists and more challenging things like when the vendors would show up and where they should enter the building and set up. My wife and I consider ourselves good planners, but there's no doubt we would have missed details had it not been for Hannah's in-depth questionnaire and itinerary.

The day before the wedding, she worked with the pastor to help us rehearse quickly and she helped us set up tables, chairs and silverware. On our wedding day she orchestrated several things while remaining nearly invisible which is what you want at your wedding. She helped coordinate our processional, she hemmed my wife's dress right after the ceremony, she went out and bought us extra wine when we ran low, and cleaned up so well throughout the night that we spent less than 20 minutes packing up from the last song to the bus ride home.

On a personal note, Hannah is great to work with. She was able to work within our vision and budget. She gave good suggestions from other weddings she's coordinated when we asked. She was also a hard worker and earned her pay. Coming from a couple who didn't want to spend the money to get a coordinator, Hannah and Midwestern Bride were worth the money.

Amazing!!!

We worked with Hannah - she was AMAZING. From the start she made us feel at ease. Every time anyone asks me for wedding advice now I always say hire a day of coordinator it makes everything less overwhelming. Hannah came with us to our 30 day out meeting and took notes on how we wanted the day to be. She was there the day of setting up and making sure everything was going smoothly. Literally nothing went wrong the day of our wedding!!! She asked great questions and we are sooo happy we had our part of our big day!! Thank you Hannah and midwestern bride!

Highly recommend!

We loved working with Midwestern Bride, with Ashley as our planner, and Alex as our DOC. Ashley really helped connect us to the perfect vendors for us and was able to bring all of my ideas to life as well as brought some new ones to the table that truly made our wedding unforgettable, to both us and our guests. Alex executed everything so wonderfully, and eventually became basically my therapist the week of the wedding when I had other stresses in life that I needed to vent about. If you think you don't need a Wedding Planner, you are wrong!

At first I didn't need a wedding planner -- I plan and coordinate events for a living and thought a wedding planner was just another expense, however, I could not have been any more wrong. A day of coordinator is priceless. Hannah, our DOC, was an absolute doll. She was present ALL day long and beyond. She thought of every single detail, she made sure that we were on time for every part of the schedule, from the ceremony through the end of the reception, and she basically took care of every detail so that we had more time to spend enjoying our day. She literarily was with us until 1:00 am, and was even sweeping the venue floor before we left. We couldn't have done this day without her.

Val is the best!

We loved Midwestern Bride and had Val as our wedding day of coordinator. For Chicago prices, Midwestern Bride can't be beat. We met with Val 2-3 times in the 5 weeks prior to the wedding and she was available via phone and text when we needed her! She did a great job dealing with vendors and calling them the week before. She brought up many things we never thought of and our day went perfectly! No hiccups. We cannot recommend Val enough!!! She is professional, organized, easy to talk to and she always put us at ease!

Midwestern Bride is an Event Planner's Godsend

As a full-time event planner, the first vendor I decided to hire for my wedding was another event planner. Multiple people questioned this, because to them I had an arsenal of skills that equipped me to plan a wedding. First off, your wedding is a unique event that you have never actually planned -- and god willing will never—plan again. So, just because I have planned corporate and non-profit events doesn’t mean I have any experience in the wedding world. Secondly, if event planning is my full-time job (wedding experience or not), why on earth would I want to ‘work’ on my wedding day? Thus, I decided to find someone who, at minimum, could completely take over the day-of duties that weddings require.

So the search began for someone that I could put my utmost faith in to make sure my wedding day went exactly as planned. Or, better yet, who could handle any situation for when my wedding inevitably did not go as planned. I interviewed several planners in Dane county, but didn’t click with most of them. I felt like they were trying to make my wedding fit into their box. They had restrictions galore. You could only have them for X amount of hours… they had lists of what they would and would not do… they would only travel so far. I was actually incredibly disappointed with the red tape. And, to top it off, I felt like I was gut punched when I saw their prices. Then came my meeting with Ashley Kuehnel, owner of Midwestern Bride. Finally, a breath of fresh air. A planning company that actually cared about you as a person!

Ashley gave me the rundown of Midwestern Bride, and I knew almost instantly that my prayers had been answered. She helped me navigate my needs and my wants, and more importantly allowed me, for the first time, to feel truly excited about my wedding day. Due to their competitive prices, not only was I able to afford a day-of-coordinator, I also added the décor/detail services. I had no idea what I wanted my wedding to look like, I just cared that my fiancé was at the end of the aisle. Then we had to pick the planner from Midwestern Bride. Cue one of the most amazing people I have ever had the privilege to work with – Annie Prak-Primakow.

Annie helped us envision our wedding and decide what we did and did not want. She handled all of our lighting and florist needs, which made two less vendors I had to deal with. She came to Madison for the venue walk through and our initial florist meeting, which I truly appreciated. She then met us about 30 days before the wedding, to get super detail-oriented regarding the whole day. She outlined the timeline from 8am to midnight and included everything from what I was going to eat for breakfast to how we were getting home. I left that meeting in happy tears because I knew that my wedding day, no matter what happened, was going to be spectacular.

Annie was there to conduct my rehearsal and then the wedding day came. She navigated everything perfectly. Our whole wedding was outside, and even thought there were forecasted storms, Annie took over that stress. I didn’t have to worry about what was happening, where we were doing the ceremony, if people were showing up… literally nothing. All I had to focus on was getting dressed! Which, just goes to show, it’s not just about what a planner is going to bring to your wedding day, it’s what they are going to take away as well. They are going to take away the inevitability of you being the point person for EVERYTHING. Annie was my buffer from incessant questions. No one asked me about the plan, about the weather, about the flowers or the lighting. By having Annie, I got to just be the bride, plain and simple. She set up all of our centerpieces, décor and signage. She always made sure we had a drink in our hand and even brought us the pizza (that I almost forgot we ordered)! And, at the end of the night, she packed everything up and loaded it into my dad’s hotel room. So, when it was the last song, all we had to do was say goodbye and get into the towncar to go home. There was no rush to get our drunken bridal party to clean everything up by midnight, there was NO stress.

Annie & Midwestern Bride made our wedding day everything we didn’t even know we wanted. We are sincerely grateful for everything they did for us, and I truly encourage you to fully experience your own wedding by booking them.

Unsung hero of our wedding

Reviews for day-of wedding planners tend to focus on the competency of the planner's ability to put together the big day. Ashley is to be commended on her work marshaling all the components of our wedding, and her work in this area alone would merit a 5-star review.

However, let me underscore the most valuable contribution Ashley provided us on our wedding day: preventing disaster. Inexplicably, we had several gigantic problems before and during the wedding - including a major traffic accident 20 minutes before the ceremony that blocked off the venue entrance. Do Yourself a Favor- Hire Them

This is THE BEST investment you will make for your wedding. Alex and Hannah handled everything for me flawlessly with the DOC package. I did nothing on my wedding day except relax and enjoy! We had over 15 contracted vendors including 2 hotels, 2 different buses, 2 venues, and 2 different groups of guests and 3 different options for ceremony depending on the weather- they didn’t make a SINGLE mistake. They were so responsive and never made me feel like anything less than their number 1 priority- absolutely exemplary work. Spend the (extremely reasonable) amount of money, you will not regret it!

Salvage One recommended Midwestern Bride. As I looked on their website I was very excited to see a "Day of Coordinator" as a very affordable option. Danielle Horvatin was in touch with me almost immediately. The name "Day of"...was not Danielle..she went above and beyond. I meet with her almost 6 months before & in constant contact throughout the process. If I didn't reach out she was there to check in. We tackled many problems together & she was great to bounce idea around. She offered to help with invitations which turned out beautiful. She handled vendors and decor with perfection. I believe it was her first time there (from an outsider you would never know) and she knocked it out of the park/city. We had to bring almost everything into the venue from salt and pepper shakers to string lights hung on the beams. Danielle did it all & then some. She made sure I always had something to drink & forced me to finish my dinner which I am grateful for after a long evening. She is a kind, loving, talented and genuine person. I was never the type of girl to dream of my wedding when I was younger or the type of women to wish I could plan it all over again. After working with Danielle , if she wanted too, she could persuade me to do it again because she made it fun. She is one of the many parts of why I believe my wedding turned out to be the most beautiful day I have ever seen. I'll start by saying Ashley is worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. It's so evident that she loves what she does because she does it phenomenally. We were planning our wedding from out of state which added another level of anxiety on top of the already stressful planning process, but the minute I got on the phone with Ashley for the first time, I felt a huge weight come off of my chest. She is extremely knowledgeable, organized, attentive, and professional. My dad met her for the first time at our rehearsal dinner (which she came to and ran flawlessly) and asked, "Where did you find her? She's incredible." She had everyone together feeling confident about exactly what would take place on the wedding day and took all the stress away. The entire wedding day was executed to perfection (in my eyes), which is the most amazing thing about her. She took care of any hiccups and made sure that to me, it was the best day ever. One (of the million) examples is I panicked about the color of the water glasses I chose the week before my wedding, and Ashley asked if I wanted her to set up half the room with the blue glasses, send me a photo and let me decide the morning of the wedding since I couldn't picture it. Sure enough, the morning of the wedding, she set up the room with blue glasses, sent me a picture and asked if I loved them or if I wanted her to use regular clear glasses--if that's not a damn good planner, I don't know what is! Ashley is just an all-around good, genuine person and an impeccable wedding planner. I can't say enough good things about her. If you're at ALL on the fence about hiring a planner, HIRE ASHLEY. It was the best investment from our wedding and you'll be so glad you did!!!!!!

Absolute perfection. If there's one thing that is a necessity on your wedding day, it is a day of coordinator. I utilized MB & Ashley for their DOC package and it was by far the best investment of the entire wedding planning process. Ashley made my wedding day an absolute dream. She is organized, professional, charismatic, kind, and always on point. All details, follow-up calls, problems, and confirmations go through her so I could just enjoy the experience of getting married. All my family commented how wonderful it was to have her there. I am a Type A planner and was hesitant to have someone else at the reigns however your wedding day is the day when you don't want to have to worry about a thing except the celebration. Simply perfect. I recently had a bride-to-be ask my honest opinion if she would be OK not having a wedding planner. I said that to speak from my experience, absolutely not. But, I also told her that it can't just be any wedding planner that she should have someone she trusts and enjoys and wants to share the day with. I found all of this with Ashley. Hiring Midwestern Bride, and specifically, Alex to be our Day of Coordinator was one of the single best decisions we made during the entire wedding planning process. We wanted someone who could help guide us through our day, handle any emergencies that cropped up, and allow us and our immediate families to enjoy the day without stressing. Alex did all that and so much more. She guided us through our entire last month of planning, took over vendor communication, provided a vendor timeline and family/friends timeline, and let us enjoy being engaged without all the hassles and headaches. It's hard to even put into words how much we loved working with Ashley. She was the absolute best!!! The second my husband and I met her it felt like we had known her for years. From the start she was extremely responsive and always made sure to ask how I was feeling and what I needed taken care of - and then did it all!! Whenever I felt like I was missing something in the weeks leading up to the wedding, she would send me a check list of things to knock out and reassured me that everything was going smoothly. When more than half of the wedding party was running late to the rehearsal, including myself, she helped keep me calm and ran the entire event. On our wedding day, she was everyones go to for questions/help so that I could relax and take everything in. If we needed anything brought to our room, she did it, when my friends dress ripped on the dance floor, she sewed it! She helped our vendors set everything up and made my dream wedding happen. Our friends/family all commented on how nice and helpful she was the entire time. Everything went off without a hitch and we cannot thank her enough!! I am so grateful we were able to work with her, I don't think the day would have been nearly as perfect without Ashley!

I'm not sure where to begin but this was one of the best decisions we made. We had Alexandria as our consultant and she was amazing. I was so stressed out about some of the details and once we met with her everything just fell into place. This was my second wedding to be involved with and I would HIGHLY recommend using a wedding planner. The day of the wedding was one of the most beautiful and stress-free days and that was largely in part because of Alex. I am so happy we chose Midwestern Bride, and specifically Danielle, for day of coordination of our wedding. I first reached out and the owner, Ashley, was very fast to respond and help us to understand our options. I was able to talk to Danielle before hand and ask her any questions I wanted which was great. From talking to her she seemed like a great match for us. From there on Danielle was absolutely wonderful. She was not only perfect on the day of the wedding, but helped so much leading up to it. Calling her a 'day of coordinator' is such a discredit to how much work she actually did prior to the wedding. She was checking in on how things were going, and was always offering to help. She was always very quick to respond to any question I had. She helped me knock off a bunch of last minute items going up to the wedding, including figuring out my table numbers, table number stands, cake stands, signage, escort cards, and more. She totally understood the look/vibe I was going for and helped bring it all together. She also made a beautiful donut bar sign/display that we rented from her and was such a great focal point for our reception. I do not know what we would have done without her on the day of the wedding. From start to finish, everything was in the right place at the right time, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. It truly helped me enjoy the day to the fullest knowing that all the logistics were in good hands with Danielle. When looking at coordinators, my mom was originally super skeptical about hiring someone, but by the end of our wedding day she was completely sold and said she would recommend a day of coordinator to anyone. As a side note, Danielle also somehow had a baby about a week or so before my wedding date (!!!) and did not miss a beat. Amazing. I could write another 4 paragraphs on how great she was, but to wrap up, hiring Danielle at Midwestern Bride was easily one of our best wedding planning decisions. We loved working with her!

We worked with Ashley for Day or Coordination and she was great! We were both skeptical about it but she easily exceeded our expectations. She took care of coordinating when all the vendors would come to set up the month before. the day of she was at the venue and helped organize them and make calls for anyone that was late. She also took care of unexpected things such as the caterer running out of food, me forgetting my veil before the ceremony, and the special items (grandpa's rosary) that were lost at the end of the night. There was no way that our families would have been able to cover everything that Ashley did. She really helped the day to go smoothly and had solutions ready for everything that came up. Definitely go with Midwestern Bride. This was THE best decision I made during my planning process. My engagement was 4 1/2 months long and I had a lot to do, plus I was finishing up my last year in medical school and was planning a wedding, graduating, and moving to another city. I asked Midwestern Bride to help with day-of services, which also included communication and organization with vendors 1 month prior to the date of the wedding. Ashley and her team were attentive to detail, responsive, great with helping me make decisions, and set up my entire venue with all my decorations. I really do feel like my wedding was wonderful because Ashley and her team were there to take care of all the details on the day of, so I didn't have to stress about it at all. She worked wonderfully with my family and friends and was even attentive to personal needs on the wedding for me and my husband, for example... making sure we drank and ate and enjoyed our company...which is so important and something that you can't miss out on!!! Ashley & the Midwestern Bride team were simply incredible. I am so very happy we met Ashley and feel very fortunate to have booked her and her team for busy June wedding weekend. We interviewed a handful of wedding planners and services and easily selected Ashley after an initial conversation. I was drawn to her because of her responsiveness, attention to detail, professionalism, and quirky & fun personality. She guided us through what package to select and even gave us tips for interviewing other wedding planners – it was clear that she wanted what was best from us right from the start. We were lucky enough to plan with Ashley for about 12 months, and oh my goodness did we need that time because we had no clue what we wanted out of wedding (other than to get married, of course). Ashley is a fantastic listener, some might even call her a soothsayer, and she guided us to an event venue, vendors, and overall styling that fit so perfectly with our personalities. She was endlessly supportive – always returning emails within 24 hours and making us feel completely in control. Hiring a wedding planner was the best thing we could have done. It eliminated so much stress leading up to the day and of course on the day itself. We knew there were going to be bumps in the road, but for every bump Ashley had a pick-me-up or a surprise or a gentle reminder of why we were throwing a wedding in the first place. She was the sixth woman on the basketball court, or the 12th woman on the football field, whatever is your fancy. She was essential. It’s strange now that the wedding is over, it’s such a big part of your life while you’re planning and that means that the people by your side are also a big part of your life. But I think and hope that our bond with Ashley continues, she really is that great. Man, I’d get married all over again if I could, and the first thing I would do is hire Midwestern Bride again. Seriously, just do it!!

Ashley and her team were amazing during our wedding weekend. Brittany came to our rehearsal dinner to ensure we understood what order we were walking in and to answer any questions we had during the process.
On our wedding day, Ashley and Shannon were there from about 1pm until almost the end of the night. They made sure my family, friends, and I had zero stress throughout the day. They helped with any questions I had and offered suggestions when I asked. We were blown away by their professionalism and relaxed manner. It felt more like I was hanging out with another friend -albeit one who was running the show.
We hired Midwestern Bride to help us with the day of event planning, but Ashley never balked when we sent her countless emails asking random questions. She always got right back to us with suggestions for who to use and ideas for what to do, and this was all way before she was contracted to start.

Hiring Midwestern Bride, specifically Ashley, was (hands down) the best decision we made in planning our wedding. Ashley is incredibly professional, organized, and detailed, while at the same time wonderfully gracious and kind. After our first meeting, I breathed a huge sigh of relief knowing that working with her would allow my husband and I to enjoy our wedding day and the weeks leading up to it, and that she would oversee and ensure execution of all of our plans. She masterfully managed communication with our vendors while fielding what were probably hundreds of questions from me, all while moving things along and keeping us on track.

Though we initially arranged to work with Midwestern Bride for “Day-Of” services, the more I talked with Ashley and saw time-after-time how fantastic she is at what she does, the more I wanted her involved in other aspects of the wedding. We added her styling assistance and am so glad we did - she brought our dreams to life. There were also several times during our planning where Ashley truly saved the day, saving me from stress or worry, and I am so happy I had her by my side.

On the day of our wedding, we all felt an extreme sense of calm knowing that Ashley, accompanied by phenomenal Midwestern Bride assistant coordinator Danielle, was in our corner and working to ensure everything went as planned.

Working with Ashley allowed us to sit back and enjoy the happiest time in our lives, and there are not enough wonderful words to describe our experience with her!

I was on the fence about booking a wedding coordinator for a two reasons - 1) we never set aside budget for a coordinator, and I wasn't sure we really had money to book one 2) it was so close to the wedding I felt I had most of the planning done. In the end, I booked Ashley and her team because I believed her services would be worth the investment, and I was right. There were too many moving parts in our wedding (i.e., shuttles, hotels, a far venue, a holiday weekend, our baby!) that I felt something was prone to going wrong. Even things I didn't think about during my planning, like, who would pack up our gifts/centerpieces/miscellaneous things from the wedding at the end of the night? All those small details I never thought about while planning were taken care of by Ashley. If there were any issues on our wedding day, I did not know of them which means Ashley intervened! Overall I'm extremely happy we booked Ashley and truly believe it was worth the investment.

She is extremely quick to respond, handles issues you will never even know arose and will not rest until you feel comfortable about everything you are planning! There were numerous times she talked to me late at night when my schedule allowed and I know it was not always what worked best for her. I can honestly say that not only was Ashley my wedding planner but she became my friend. Knowing that I will no longer need to talk to her weekly makes me sad but I am so grateful for having her there during one of the most important times in my life. I hope she knows how important she has been to me and my husband!

My husband and I decided to have our wedding in Chicago with our family and friends. We live in NYC and weren't able to physically be in Chicago to look for venues, so we did it all online, e-mails and through phone calls. We chose Rivers Restaurant, overlooking the Chicago river. We came in contact with the restaurant's event planner, Taylor Dahlstrom from Midwestern Bride. Upon speaking with Taylor, we knew we had made the right choice. Taylor was extremely pleasant to work with over the course of 2 months. Taylor always made herself available to us, she listened to what we wanted and guided us through every step of the way. Taylor seamlessly handled everything that needed to be done before, on or after the day of the event. She always brought to our attention things we should consider which we had never thought of before. Her experience, professionalism and personality was and is superb! Not once did we have to wait for something to get done as she was always on top of every detail. Everyone I would speak to said the same thing " don't worry if something goes wrong on the day of the wedding, just let it go, it is your day, something always happens that doesn't go according to plan." We not only had luck on our side but most importantly, we had Taylor, our wedding was sensational and everything went as planned, all thanks to Taylor! I highly recommend her to take charge of your event and expect the highest quality of service and nothing less!! I couldn't have been happier to have Ashley as the day of coordinator for our wedding. After our first meeting I felt so much stress and anxiety lift knowing she was going to be on top of following our timeline and making sure all the vendors were in place and had everything they needed. One of the best things we did was to hire Ashley as our day of planner for our daughters wedding. My only regret is that we didn't get her on board sooner. She is a delight to work with, and after meeting with her I got my first good nights sleep in quite awhile. I worked with Midwestern Bride for my wedding on September 13th. I can honestly say, everything turned out exactly the way my husband and I had hoped. Ashley from Midwestern Bride was absolutely amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process, and especially in the final weeks and day of. It was so wonderfully easing to know that she was there to take care of any minor glitches, finishing touches, and dealing with a few difficult vendors. She took over all contact a month out, set up our timeline, and allowed us to focus on enjoying the weeks leading up to our big day!

Taylor was our coordinator, and she was great. She was professional and prepared, and her calm demeanor was an important trait when so much stress and emotions are involved. Not sure how we could have pulled it off without her. At one point, she was moving the hedges that served as our backdrop. She put some sweat into making our day special. Thanks to Ashley, my wedding was a success. From the beginning she was able to see my vision and helped me in putting the pieces together to make my dreams a reality. I planned our August 2014 Wisconsin wedding from California, and from eight months prior to the wedding, Ashley was available over the phone or email to help me visualize and give a second opinion for decor and flow of the wedding. Our wedding was rather elaborate and I was extremely involved in the planning process. Ashley was patient with me and respected my wishes to have say and contact with every vendor.
I would not have survived the weekend of the wedding without her. After months and months of planning, when the weekend finally got here, there were still loose ends that seemed overwhelming for me. For the week leading up to the wedding, Ashley took care of correspondence with the vendors which made everything easier. Our wedding was on a golf course and we had everything brought in- from a tent, to floor, serve ware, bar, catering, furniture- everything was delivered and each thing from a different vendor. Ashley handled all vendors, she organized the rehearsal, she brought breakfast to the hair salon the morning before. And she did everything with a smile- and made sure to check in with me. "How are you feeling?" was a question she asked me many times during the weekend. She cared.
Ashley was there for my every concern and made magic on the day of the wedding in making sure that things went exactly as I wanted. Thank you Ashley for being a part of such a special day. I wholeheartedly recommend Midwestern Bride. Totally worth it.

We worked with Taylor from Midwestern Bride for our wedding this past weekend and it was an absolutely perfect day thanks to them!! Taylor and Ashley held a big planning session for us which really helped to get us organized. In the few weeks leading up to the wedding Taylor took care of everything for us, confirmed details with all our vendors, and finalized the day of schedule. We were able to relax and instead focus on enjoying all of the pre-wedding festivities. The actual wedding day was smooth and stress free thanks to Taylor! Ashley and Katie from Midwestern Bride were absolutely fantastic! I met with them for the first time 3 weeks before the wedding. Prior to this, I had been doing all of the planning myself. We went through the vendor contracts, discussed wedding details, and any other concerns or worries that I had. They had a long list of questions, some of which I had never even thought of! From this moment I knew I was in good hands. Over the next week I gradually stopped doing all of the planning myself and let Ashley take over. This allowed me to feel much more relaxed leading up to the wedding and able to enjoy that time with family and friends. Ashley attended our rehearsal which helped A LOT since we were having a Hindu & Jewish combined ceremony with 2 officiants. On the day of the wedding, there was a parade which we didn't know about and so all of the streets leading to our hotel were closed down. Despite this, Ashley was able to get the bouquets to us on time and make it to the venue to execute our spectacular wedding! Once we arrived to the venue, Ashley and Katie were there and gave us a quick update. The rest of the evening I truly enjoyed myself and didn't have to worry about anything! Deciding to have a wedding planner was one of the best decisions I made, but the absolute best decision was having Midwestern Bride at our wedding! I met with Ashley from Midwestern Bride, and later hired one of her coordinators, Brittany, to be my "day-of" coordinator for my wedding held on April 19th, and I'm so glad I did! The venue where we held our wedding had an in-house coordinator, but I wanted someone else that would be working just for my husband and I to take care of all of the details those last few days. Brittany told me several times that I was one of the most organized brides she'd ever worked with, but yet I still don't know what I would have done without her! After all of the planning of the tiny details, it was so nice just to be able to relax and enjoy our wedding. I was pretty stressed leading up to the rehearsal, mostly because I was worried about coordinating (more like herding) our wedding party and making sure they were where they needed to be on time. Once I met up with Brittany at our rehearsal it was like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders since I knew she would take care of everything from there on! If anything went wrong I never knew it because she took care of it (and still haven't heard of any problems that may have happened the day of), which is why I can look back on my wedding day and think it was perfect! I really don't know what I would have done without her - from making sure everyone was on time to putting a bandaid on a blister on my foot, safety pinning parts of my dress after it had been stepped on, and making sure the timing and flow of the whole night was just how we wanted - she did it all! Best of all, I woke up the next morning and managed to have all of my belongings despite maybe having a little too much fun at the reception to remember to grab everything :) I can't thank Brittany and Ashley from Midwestern Bride enough for helping my husband during the best day of our lives!

Our Wedding Planner at Midwestern Bride, Ashley, and her assistant, Jessica, came into our lives at just the right time of the Wedding Planning process. We hired Ashley as our "Day of" Planner and it is something every Bride should do for her big day. Ashley shared with us that she "handles everything" starting about 4-6 weeks before the Wedding... and did she ever! We cannot compliment her enough. The response to emails was prompt. Every in person meeting was welcoming and warm.
What I appreciated the most was how easily I could trust Ashley. She asked me, as the Bride, to "let go" and "focus on what's important" and leave the rest to her. She was amazing! My now husband (fiance at the time) shared that he had never seen me so calm once Ashley entered the picture. As the groom, he appreciated Ashley and Jessica wanting and allowing us to be in the moment, while they took care of the rest.
All of the vendors we worked with loved collaborating with Midwestern Bride. Even our Catering Director at The Drake Hotel (who has worked with countless Wedding Planners), was thoroughly impressed with Ashley and shared he would not say that unless he meant it.

I can’t say enough great things about Ashley. I also could not have pulled off my wedding without her! I am an event coordinator myself so I hired Ashley as a day of coordinator, since I knew the day of would be super busy. A month prior to my wedding we met to discuss timeline and logistics which from there she basically took over. She was in contact with all my vendors to ensure everything went smoothly. She attended the rehearsal dinner and really made it easy for everyone to understand how the ceremony will go.

At the wedding she was fantastic. She set everything up better than I could have imagined. When the best man lost a button, Ashley was there to sew it back on. I leaned on her a lot that day and she truly exceed all my expectations.

What an amazing experience with such an amazing, hardworking person. Ashley always made us feel like we were the only couple she was working with. I instantly knew Ashley was going to be my go-to girl for helping to bring our wedding together the first time I met her. She quickly felt like a friend with really great ideas and I always looked forward to our meetings. Working with Ashley for a year she was instrumental in helping to set the vision and tone by incorporating my ideas and funneling them into one cohesive and beautifully styled celebration. Ashley is w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l! I used her as our day of planner and don't know what I would have done without her. I met with Ashley many months before my wedding, where she clearly presented how she would function as our planner and I was sold. She is organized, knowledgeable, and was able to communicate well with all of my vendors as the big day drew near. My wedding day was awesome and I knew I had nothing to worry about with Ashley running the show. During wedding weekend she kept my stess level at a zero (much lower than my normal level), managed/facilitated the reception set-up, made an emergency liquor run during our reception, and ensured all guest and items safely left at the end of the night. Thanks for everything Ashley :)

For our wedding, I thought the sign of a great coordinator had to be when you think nothing went wrong all day and that was definitely the case with us. We really appreciate the extra effort to make sure we were outside for the ceremony and cocktail hour despite clouds and rain within hours of the ceremony, and everything seemed to flow seamlessly from there on out, other than one cut foot which Ashley also helped take care of. We had some email miscommunications early on but once we worked everything out, we had a good experience with Ashley and she was very helpful on our wedding day!

My husband and I were fortunate enough that my parents offered to pay for our wedding; however, my mom's main condition was she wanted a wedding planner...which my husband was against. After much searching and interviewing, we met Ashley from Midwestern Bride. My husband and I immediately knew she would be a perfect fit to help us organize our big day. She customized a package for us that gave us the independence to choose our vendors, but would provide us guidance and recommendations for the vendors we would need. To really complicate our wedding, we live in Michigan and got married in Madison, WI. She was able to coordinate/organize/assist from her office in Chicago, meet us in Wisconsin when we could, and communicate with us in Michigan and our vendors in Wisconsin --confusing? Not for Midwestern Bride! About one month until our date, Ashley took over all communication with the vendors, which relieved me of the stress. She was there for us the day before our wedding to assist with the rehearsal and then all day from early morning through tear-down at our wedding. She did the work of 10 people. If there was any hitch in our day, no one knew because to us, everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) ran perfectly and on schedule. Without her, I know my husband, myself, and my mom wouldn't have been able to enjoy our wedding as much as we could. P.S. while dancing, my husband stepped on my foot and ripped my toenail. Ashley immediately was there to help stop the bleeding and provide me pain relievers and an ice pack so I could get back to dancing! We can't express how invaluable Midwestern Bride is for event planning. I would never recommend planning a wedding without a knowledgeable, kind, organized, motivated, and hard-working planner like Ashley. She's worth more than I could have ever dreamt. THANK YOU!

At first we were a little skeptical at the value that a wedding planned would provide but we could not have got through our day without the assistance of our planner Ashley from Midwestern Bride. Ashley was great, super easy to work with and really helped take care of all the last minute details and logistics we were worried about, and even some we didn't think of. Our day went off without a hitch and Ashley was a huge part of that, I would highly recommend her!

Overall I was very, very pleased with the service from Midwestern Bride. I was referred to them, so I knew they would be great and Val didn't disappoint. About a month before the wedding, we met with Val to review the timeline and details. There were definitely some things Val brought up that I would never have thought about, so it was super helpful to have a month to figure that all out. The day of I didn't have to handle anything and could just enjoy myself. As far as I know, everything went perfectly smooth and if something did go wrong, I would have had no idea as Val took care of everything!

We decided to go with the partial planner package since we didn't need help in doing every little thing, but more so just having someone there to help make sure we were on track, provide referrals, bounce things off of, etc. We worked directly with Ashley and she was great right from the start. Very down to earth and easy to talk to. She listened to our ideas and wasn't afraid to jump in to get her advice on things as well, which is was exactly what we wanted. Personally, I felt the bulk of the value came in two main areas, getting to know us and what we wanted and providing amazing vendor referrals (we went with her first suggestion for each vendor and was THRILLED with all of them) and all of the things she provided on the day of the wedding. It was SO nice to not have to worry about things the day of. Ashley and her assistant took care of it all and it went extremely smoothly. She clearly knows what she is doing and has the personality and demeanor to make sure everything goes as planned. If we could do it over again, we would definitely use Ashley again, no doubt.

Living in Michigan and getting married in Chicago, having a wedding planner was HUGELY helpful. We went with the weekend package which was perfect for us. Ashley was very responsive and did all she could to make sure our wedding went smoothly, and it did! We had an absolute blast. It was really nice that Ashley knew our venue, Rivers Restaurant, so well. There were a few minor mishaps here and there, mostly due to just logistics in busy downtown Chicago, but nothing anyone noticed.

It was a huge relief hang Ashely on the day of the wedding. She put my mind at ease and dealt with anything that arouse throughout the night. I would definitely recommend her for a day of planner. Thanks Ashley!

Ashley was a delight to work with. She has a very calming aura about her and she always seemed to have everything in order. She was responsive to all my emails within a 3 day window and offered to pick up my errands at any time! There was a little confusion between my coordinator and wedding event manager on what the hotel could and couldn't provide which led to some confusion - and a few other glitches on confusing information being relayed but nothing out of the ordinary. Weddings can be very confusing (especially when you change to a rain backup for ceremony and reception 48 hours before the event!) overall, Ashley was great to work with and I would recomend her highly! She is a pleasure (so sweet) and very organized, and timely and works hard to make sure your day is successful. I think my wedding day would have been much more crazy if she wasn't there organizing and making it all work!!

The amount of emails that had to be repeatedly sent, duplicated and playing intermediate between my planner and the rest of my vendors increased my stress prior to the day. I had to organize my event mostly as I had to keep updating my planner on things she didn't update from previous emails. Also, despite giving details on lay out and things that would need to be moved, I had to scramble to change outlook things right before the wedding. Money spent but didn't de stress.
