The most beautiful venue

I highly recommend having your wedding at Mendakota Country Club! The staff was extremely helpful in planning a wedding especially during a pandemic. They communicated clearly throughout all the changes and made our dream wedding come true. The grounds and golf course make a beautiful backdrop for pictures. One of the major reasons we went with Mendakota is the ability to have the entire upper facility for our guests. There are 3 rooms and a patio area that guest socialized in all night long. The food was delicious and everyone spoke highly of it! If you are looking for a venue that all your wedding events can be held, I highly recommend Mendakota Country Club!!

Our Wedding at Mendakota County Club was everything we wanted and then some! Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic was stressful to say the least. Cutting back on the guest list, deciding what to keep and not for food service and everything in between was made a little easier by this team. Not only were they super supportive and helpful through our constant back and forth but they made us feel at ease with their current safety measures in place. After learning about all they do to help ensure guest safety and satisfaction we made the decision to move forward with our wedding! It was perfect! The outdoor ceremony space was amazing and the food Chef Mike prepared was so good. Thank you Mendakota for making our day so great.

Excellent quality!

We had our wedding reception at Mendakota, and we can't recommend it highly enough! We looked at a number of venues, and Mendakota was by far the best value around. It is a beautiful country club, with immaculate grounds and classic detailing throughout. It wasn't necessary to spend much on décor, as the venue itself is already so lovely. The staff is very professional and easy to work with - Perry was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. He had excellent advice for us in planning our reception, and we were confident that everything would be handled well. We were so delighted with how everything turned out - we could not have chosen a better venue for our reception. We still hear compliments to this day; from the elegance and beauty of Mendakota to the excellent service and food (the food here is incredible!), everything was superb. We also hear rave reviews from everyone about the friendly bartenders and the high quality of the drinks they made. All in all, everyone had a wonderful time, and we could not be more pleased with Mendakota Country Club.

What a fantastic and beautiful venue! We had an absolute care free experience loaded with laughs, fun, and beautiful photos. We had such a good time, we actually joined the club afterwards!

We toured about 10 venues in the Twin Cities when we moved here last year and decided to get married in our new home town. We were looking for a place that was classic, connected with the ourdoors, and personal. Mendakota Country Club was all of these items and more! The clubhouse itself is simple and beautiful with high wood ceilings which is a lovely backdrop for any decorations. The grounds of the country club and the golf course were absolutely gorgeous, especially in August, when all the flowers are blooming and the sunshine is warm. Perry, the coordinator at Mendakota, was so fun to work with - that man has personality and is VERY good at what he does! He gave us great suggestions on how to best spend our budget to maximize the vision we imagined. He knew the important things to do to support traditions, like a wine pour and a signature drink, and he was also very flexible to let us decorate the way we wanted. He helped us to determine the layout of the room to hold our 130 guests, a big harvest table for the bridal party and their dates, and a band with a ample dance floor. It turned out absolutely awesome!! Also the food was very good. We had salmon and filet mignon, and we received so may comments from our guests on how perfectly cooked they were! The waitstaff were exceptional and did so many small things to make the day special, including opening doors for guests, caring to small decoration details, cleaning plates/drinks in a timely manner, and helping guests with random requests. We were extremely impressed with everything!!!! Highly recommend this venue.

Our August 13th wedding was a perfect day! We can honestly say that we are so happy we chose Mendakota Country Club for our ceremony and reception venue. Paige and Perry were easy to communicate with and helped us to personalize our day. On our wedding day Paige was so helpful, we cannot say enough about how great she is! A special shout out to Alan, one of our bartenders, our guests loved him and went on and on about how personable and friendly he was. We would not change a thing about our day! Thanks to everyone at Mendakota!!!

The service is topnotch from start to finish. My guests could not get over how incredibly beautiful everything was. I was planning on an outdoor wedding but mother nature had other things in mind. Paige, the coordinator for our big day, was able to take my planned outdoor ceremony indoors within 15 minutes. My guests raved about how beautiful the ceremony was and how impressive the service was. The food was a huge hit and everything was ready right on time. If you want a place for both ceremony and reception with great places to take photos, an amazing dinner selection, PERFECT service from start to finish, and a price that is actually affordable in the twin cities then you NEED to be at Mendakota Country Club. We even had friends who are looking at venues ask for the info they were so impressed!

We had our ceremony and reception at Mendakota in the summer of 2016 and hands-down it was the best day of my life not only because I was marrying the man of my dreams but because Mendakota had a huge hand in making the day so special. It was on-and-off raining and Perry and Paige did such a fantastic job at keeping everything coordinated and organized that I felt so comfortable knowing everything was going to go smoothly because they were the ones I got to work with. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Huge thanks to barkeepers Debbie and Alan; people were telling me how awesome the two of you were! The food was also so good, I mean who doesn't like cheesy potatoes with their chicken?! Overall, I couldn't of asked for a better experience for my guests - all thanks to Mendakota. I highly recommend this venue due to the friendly staff, cleanliness, beautiful views, delicious food, supurb service and attention to detail. Thank you, thank you!

Sundays are a great value at this location. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was. The food and staff were great. We had a lot of food allergies that they needed to accommodate and they did a great job with that.

Our wedding at the Mendakota Country Club was amazing. It was the best night of our lives. Excellent experience across the board from planning to end of the night. The food and service as simply outstanding. The room set up was beautiful, very accomidating of a large crowd. Our guest's had a great time, even enjoying s'mores roasted on the outside patio fire. Perry and Paige were a pleasure to work with. We wish we could do it again! Highly reccomend choosing the Mendakota for your wedding.

We held our social hour and reception at Mendakota. The Lakeside room with the wooden beams is beautiful. We received many compliments on the venue and how beautiful everything was. The grounds are immaculately maintained with beautiful flowers around the building and the golf course. We were able to use all three rooms on the upper level and patio for our June wedding. It was a beautiful day and guests floated in and out all night. Perry is very responsive and attentive to detail to ensure the event goes flawlessly. We served walleye and chicken for our dinner and received many compliments on the food (and on our appetizers too!). The wine at Mendakota was also amazing! We loved having our wedding here and the building and facility is truly unique to make it seem like your typical country club wedding.

Such a gorgeous, gorgeous venue with a lot of space and natural light. Perry was our main contact and he was incredibly helpful (although his emails are a little short-he's more communicative in person) and Nikki actually helped us clean up at the end of the night. I also appreciated Nikki checking in with me frequently during our reception to make sure I was happy with everything, and to be sure everything was exactly what I wanted. We loved having our reception there.

Nicki and Perry at Mendakota were great to work with! They know exactly what they are doing and how to execute. They were very responsive to any and all requests I had and offered advice when we weren’t sure exactly what we wanted.

The day of the wedding the staff basically "set" the reception space with center pieces table numbers etc exactly the way we requested. It was awesome not having to worry about ANYTHING with Mendakota all day!

Our food was hot and delicious, the bartenders were attentive, and the wait staff did an amazing job!

Beautiful place for a reception. The staff is attentive and flexible. The prices were really reasonable given the high quality of the space. And we had tons of positive comments about how delicious the food was--a rarity at a wedding.

The assistant caterer went above and beyond for a couple of my guests that needed it. This venue was gorgeous and helped save me a lot of money in decorations. The food was great and the service was excellent. I really liked the layout of the happy hour space, the dance floor, and the dinner space. They are a busy venue so there was a delay in getting back to a couple of my questions via email but that was the only down side. Reasonably priced as well.

Mendakota CC is a beautiful golf course setting just south of St. Paul in Mendota Heights. We had a reception for about 250 guests and the service we received could not have been better. All of the staff are very professional, courteous and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the asiago chicken and several passed hors d'oeuvres (bacon wrapped scallops, spinach quiche and beef brochettes). The cost seemed to be right in line with other reception locations if not a little bit lower. I would highly recommend this locaiton!

Everything was wonderfully done, with the sole exception of a lighting issue in some subcontracted work. Mendakota ultimately did not charge us for this service, which was much appreciated.

Most of the staff at Mendakota were very professional. The 2 coordinators, Perry and Nicki were awesome! They made sure everything was taken care of and set-up the venue perfectly for our big day!! I really appreciate all the hard work they put in to making sure my wedding day was one to remember and I did not have to stress about anything! The food was also wonderful, we had so many compliments!! The only complaint I have was that one of the bar tenders was overly chatty and the line at the bar ended up getting really long! She also was talking away while she filled a pitcher with beer and I looked over and half of our keg was on the ground because it over flowed! Other than that everyone was wonderful!

Great Venue and Service!

The Mendakota Country Club is a beautiful venue and we had the vision for how beautiful the course would be in the early fall for our wedding when we toured in the dead of winter!! Our photos throughout the day in multiple locations throughout the venue are stunning with beautiful greenery and waterfronts. MCC checked every box for what we looked for in a venue, including (but not limited to): the opportunity for an outdoor ceremony and flexibility in having both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the event including cocktail hour, onsite getting ready spaces, onsite catering with a variety of dinner options and a cohesive, one-level space (helpful and easy for family members with physical mobility issues) Adena was very responsive and by the end of our year and a half engagement, had responded to 200 emails, discussing details and answering questions for our big day! Jessica and Adena in partnership with our Day of Coordinator were able to manage many moving pieces and make our big day come together beautifully, and the waitstaff and barstaff were wonderful to work with.

While we had a good experience overall with MCC, there were two day-of notes that did detract from our Big Day:

We were told that the staff will “stop golfers” from teeing off at certain holes during the ceremony, however we had numerous golfers walk right behind our officiant during the ceremony and even one golfer approximately 15 feet from us saying our vows yelling to someone in the parking lot. While we understand it is a country club/golf course first and foremost, MCC charges couples a $1,200 onsite ceremony fee that should come with the expectations of no members on the first few holes of the course during the ceremony.

During the reception, the temperature was not well maintained and by the time the dance floor was fully opened, all guests were profusely sweating. While there were industrial fans to help keep the room cool, it was not as effective as we would have liked, especially during an unseasonably warm day in mid-September.

Beautiful venue for my daughters wedding, staff was amazing, food was very good and served hot. Sirloin steak and chicken Chardonnay was delicious! I would highly recommend Mendakota for a wedding venue.

Beautiful venue with a great backdrop of golf course. Loved the tall ceilings. There is really minimal decorating that needs to be done. We worked with Paige on our wedding day and she was fantastic. The day was absolutely beautiful!

We had our wedding reception at Mendakota CC. It is a beautiful setting for any event with lush flowers, beautiful views of the golf course, and a large banquet room lined with windows. The service was good and the staff did a nice job of keeping everyone happy! The food was delicious as was the service. The only exception was that the person we were working with throughout the planning wasn't there the day of the event. Some of the conditions of our contract weren't followed but they made up for it after the event and did not charge us! Their customer service was great! We were definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a classy and beautiful venue that does a great job with food and service. We were pleased!

Beautiful venue for a reception and the team there setup everything so it was stunning. They totally knew how to make a wedding go off without a hitch! The servers were so professional and kind. And the coordinator on the day of our wedding was excellent! She took care of everything and we all just enjoyed the day. Amazing wedding with the help of this team!

Mendakota Country Club was such a beautiful place to have our wedding. The food was also amazing! We were allowed to go in the day before and make sure everything was just how we wanted it too. The only negative thing would be that it was sometimes difficult to get a response from the coordinator, but everything all turned out great in the end and we received a lot of compliments about the location.

The good: Excellent value, delicious catering, established reputation, beautifully manicured grounds, good capacity (I had a large guest list), service, quality leadership.

We served tres leches cake that was delivered in deep sheet pans to hold the cocktail it's soaked in, and it was no issue for the kitchen staff to serve that. I loved how flexible they were with our unconventional dessert choice.

Also, I'd requested steak for my Celiac friends and they were served chicken, however Mendakota made up for that in serving them the most delicious gluten free cake they've ever had. That was wonderful to hear after the wedding, thank you Mendakota team!

The not so good: Not always responsive, but ultimately things get done well and questions get answered.

If your guest list is over 120 guests, consider your desired table configuration. Guest lists over 120 mean the only reasonable choice for tables is all round in one section. I wanted the dance floor in center of Lakeside, however due to having 200 guests, it just wasn't possible. I had the option for sweetheart or harvest, but it would only go along the window wall. The wrap around windows are beautiful, but just saying you can pretty much forget about "key hole" or dance floor in center, or any other configuration I don't know of that might waste precious space.

Also, if you're big on decor, don't forget to consider their chairs. They're newer and very comfortable, and ultimately I didn't cover them or rent others, but that was definitely something I had to work to let go because of cost.

When it comes to value, I will also add that although it's in a suburban area, it's only a short drive from St. Paul (which is where I married) and that makes a big difference because although there are trendier, or even more established venues downtown, the benefit/value is no valet expense because Mendakota has a giant complementary parking lot and that was so nice.

The staff on the day of the wedding was fantastic!! Everything went extremely smooth and the venue was beautiful! The food they served was delicious and we got a lot of compliments on how good the meal was. The event planner at Mendakota can be difficult to get a hold of at times and you have to call or email multiple times for a response. Other than that though it was a great venue and I would definitely use them again!

Mendakota was a beautiful place to have our reception. The location, scenery, room, etc. were all gorgeous. The food was also delicious. The staff was also very helpful. Unfortunately we did not find the main event planner there very helpful nor courteous or prompt. If someone else were to be hired I'd give Mendakota a higher score!

I think the venue itself is amazing for a wedding as the outside ceremony area is beautiful and the reception room is very polished and elegant. It's also accommodating in regards to amenities for the guests pertaining to restrooms, parking, and overall comfort level. The one issue we had was in regards to the Catering Director. He doesn't do a good job of selling the venue or himself which left us feeling he didn't really care to go out of his way to make us feel confident in our choice of venue. He also wasn't overly friendly and welcoming, people skills are lacking in that regard. If you can get past that, the venue is amazing for a wedding.

Let me start by saying Mendakota CC is beautiful, and my wedding turned out beautifully. With that being said, the level of service at Mendakota might be the worst I have ever encountered. The event planner Perry is hard to get into contact with and when you do email him, he is short. It really makes you feel like you are bothering him when asking questions. When we asked to meet with him, it was like pulling teeth to get him to meet with you. Also, if it is not his way it is "tacky" or you just shouldn't do it. I had to be really persistent with him to get my vision to become reality for our wedding. After working with Perry to plan the wedding for over a year, turns out he wouldn't be there for our wedding. We had his "assistant" for the day of the wedding, who was pretty much the same as he is. Cold and not very friendly.

We had 2 bartenders, one (Allen) was awesome. Very nice and attentive. The second bartender was older and I didn't get his name, probably because he wasn't very friendly. He was rude to our guests. I had multiple guests tell me this.

Finally, when we got our final bill we had over $1000 of unwarranted charges on our bill. We were charged $620 for chairs, which wasn't discussed with us and then they put 20% gratuity on room rental, dance floor, projection screens, 2 bar fees, and the ceremony tents, totaling around and additional $400. The 20% gratuity was to be added to only food and beverage, not rental fees. We mentioned both of these to Perry, who took them off but not even a sorry was mentioned. Makes me believe they just add fees on there to see if they will get caught and if not make an additional $1000 per wedding.

The venue is beautiful, but not worth dealing with them.

My wedding reception was here. They were so wonderful to work with PRIOR to my wedding....the arrangements made were great. It is a beautiful place and it was what I imagined until the person who arranged it all went on vacation the day of my wedding and handed my wedding over to the other gal there who NEVER met us or worked with us. That is where it all went downhill.

What was important to us was FREE drinks for our guests prior to dinner, no tip jars present and just a nice elegant wedding at a beautiful and professional place. The day of the wedding, guests were charged drinks and we've been double-billed for the same ones. We did ask that guests who asked for premium liquor to be charged and we are also charged on our bill too. They still haven't resolved it. In addition, for non-premium drinks guests were charged. We are embarrassed such a great place can't hire honest bartenders.

Mendakota is still looking into this problem for 2 months now.... Plus, Mendakota had tip jars and when asked to be removed the gal commented, no. I guess we pay a tip and then make our guests tip- TACKY. What is most disappointing is that Perry handed us to another lady who couldn't execute our wedding according to the details we asked for.

We paid a lot of money for 180 some guests. I would tell others not to go here unless you are promised that the event organizer not go on vacation and leave you with someone who can't run bartenders. It was a beautiful wedding there but to have service like this is not acceptable. By the way, one of our guests had to show a bartender how to tap the beer. Sad. Sad how many guests were charged for drinks and we were double-billed....go to another country club.
