Megan is amazing
I got married in Raleigh NC April 2023. I spoke with 6 different photographers and Megan stood out to me the most. My husband and I decided to move forward with her after speaking with her over the phone and seeing her portfolio. Through the planning process, her attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism was unmatched. The day of our wedding she was amazing to work with. It was raining on and off all day and not only did she take beautiful photos, she also helped the day flow seamlessly. Our pictures are absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend her enough!! -

Megan was amazing to work with! We learned of her from our awesome wedding planner, but also read reviews about her work and felt she would be a great fit for us. Megan captured our wedding in an intimate and authentic way. You can see the joy and fun that was had, as well as the beauty of the entire day. We chose the Engagement Photo Shoot in her package and that was so much fun to do! It allowed us to get to know her before our wedding and see how she worked. We brought our 7-year old son with us to the shoot and she incorporated him in some of the photos as well. She made us feel so comfortable, it was like she was part of the family, and was so easy and pleasant to work with. We elected to do our engagement photos at UNC and then our wedding was at The Bradford. She captured beautiful shots of us, our ceremony, our guests, the venue and more! As we continue to look at our photos, it brings the day back to life for us. Her down to earth and warm, sincere personality made you feel like you were her only client. We highly recommend Megan! You won't be disappointed! -

Exceptional Photographer
I met Megan in college and then followed her work after she started her photography business. I knew that whenever I got married, I wanted her as our photographer. Why? Personality and talent! She is phenomenally sweet, fun, and professional to work with. I was a blur of excitement on my wedding day, so Megan was essential in helping us stay on track and getting all the pictures done before the ceremony. Then, her work is just gorgeous. Like, chef’s kiss gorgeous. I loved getting the best of both worlds with film and digital. Even better though, Megan has a way of capturing emotions that you can feel when you look at the photos. She can produce the perfect naturally posed picture and then the next one is a candid goodie of raw joy. Boy am I glad I trusted my gut! I’m forever grateful to Megan for these memories that are forever captured to look back on! -

Everything you’re looking for in a photog!
Megan was absolutely amazing, I couldn’t be any more grateful we found her for our big day! From the engagement shoot I felt like I had someone who cared about us, our preferences, feelings and the best quality pictures(while trying to help us not freeze to death) to the wedding day where she not only captured some of the most cherished pictures I’ll ever have but she also helped keep me calm when things got off schedule and even helped me get into my wedding dress because we were all behind 😜

Megan worked with us for our engagement photos, small backyard wedding ceremony, and large reception. Before booking with her I wasn't even sure I wanted engagement photos and thought the experience would be terribly awkward. She managed to put us both at ease from the get go, all while keeping to her schedule and ensuring "golden hour" was optimized. Most importantly she had us laughing the whole time, and dare I say, made it fun! Starting off with the engagement shoot helped her get a sense of how we interact together and poses that work for us which helped ensure our wedding day was executed to perfection (which it was!) She is professional, organized, and worked seemlesly with our other vendors to guarantee both of our "day's" went smoothly! Her attention to detail was something that made the experience even better. She had us fill out lists of important friend and family groupings ahead of time so the day of she could capture all of the most important shots without having to ask a single question.
In addition to the positive experience, her work speaks for itself! I am blown away with her finished product from each of our events. Her style is beautifully captures each moment and elevates without them feeling overly posed, stylized or edited. She really is the best!

Truly the Best!!!!
Words cannot express how incredible Megan is. From our very first phone call, I knew she had to be a part of our special day. Megan is thoughtful, intentional, and beyond talented as what she does. She has an ability to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera immediately (& that is coming from two people who had never taken professional photos before!). Megan's ability to capture the love you have with your person through photos is seriously breathtaking. When we received our album, we were in tears.
Not only is Megan's gift of photography a strong enough pull, she is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I had a minor dress malfunction the day of my wedding and Megan quite literally saved the day. She helped me remain calm, and reassured me that she would do everything she could to help. I will never forget that. She is professional, patient, and instantly feels like a friend. I cannot recommend Megan enough.

Absolutely Amazing Wedding Photographer
Megan is the best in the business. She is everything you want in a wedding photographer and more. We fell in love with her work and ended up booking her before we got engaged to make extra sure that she would be able to photograph our wedding. She is professional, fun, extremely organized, attentive, patient, communicative, and the best talent out there. She also handles everything when it comes to the timeline, photo list, and communication with vendors. Our families were in complete awe at how many unbelievable photos we have of our wedding day. Megan is extremely talented at what she does. I am very critical of myself and typically dislike every picture that is taken of me. She somehow created an entire gallery of over 500 photos from my wedding day that I am absolutely IN LOVE with. Her ability to illustrate our love for one another through these photos is breathtaking and we will cherish these photos forever. On top of her extraordinary photography talents, she is also an excellent communicator, personable, and flexible. I had a couple of specific photo requests, and she was super accommodating to all of them. She definitely went above and beyond what was expected of her and is undoubtably gifted. 10/10, 5 stars, 1,000% would recommend. -

From the very first phone call meeting, covid wedding probs, to our engagement pictures, FINALLY thanks again to covid, my bridal portraits and then the wedding day Megan did not miss a beat! She listened to what we wanted and made sure that is what we received. When I called her before my Bridal portraits telling her how nervous and anxious I was to pose in front of a camera all alone she reassured me I was in good hands and she wasn't lying. She made me feel like the most beautiful bride in the world and it showed in the pictures. When we finally made it to the wedding day a year and a half later she absolutely KILLED IT! Not only were the pictures everything I could of ever dreamed of but her ability to wrangle up our large wedding party of 20 people and accomplish our family photos with over 75 family members, with no stress on my part, was HUGE! On top of capturing all of the moments we asked for she also was able to document all of the details I had worked so hard on for over a year to make the day everything we had every wanted. I loved every second of working with Megan and will never hesitate to recommend her to anyone and everyone that ask! I would be lying if I said I don't find my self going through our wedding photos at least once a day! WE LOVE YOU MEGAN! -

Megan is everything you want and need as a photographer. She’s attentive, professional (while still being so fun), organized, and incredibly helpful. Not only is she all of those things, but her work is amazing! The film photography she does is GORGEOUS! I wasn’t searching for a film photographer in the beginning but wow, I’m glad I got it. It produces such soft, timeless photos. Megan photographed our elopement and big wedding. All of our family/bridal party raved about Megan and have said how excited they are to get the photos back. We hired Megan to do our engagement shoot, and it was the best decision! Amazing wedding photographer!
When I got engaged, the first thing my fiancé and I did was make a list of the most important things we needed to make our day perfect and decided that is where we would spend the bulk of our budget. For me, the thing I wanted to make sure was perfect was the pictures. I have always had pictures hanging in my home and love to look back at all of memories so I knew finding the right photographer was top of my list.
After having meetings with several different photographers, I finally had my preliminary call with Megan. The first thing I noticed was how diligent and organized she was! She opened the conversation talking about when sunset was and backed up the entire wedding timeline around that. My now husband and I can be more of a fly by the seat of our pants type of people and I knew we needed someone who would keep us on track. But as we continued to talk, I instantly felt like I was talking to one of my girlfriends. The first conversation lasted over an hour and I instantly knew, this is the person I wanted to be a part of our day. The photographer you choose will literally be there for your ENTIRE wedding day, following you around, so it was very important to me that we had a connection.
Fast forward to our engagement shoot. My husband and I were both really nervous. We had never taken professional pictures together and 2 hours seemed really intimidating. But she made us feel so comfortable and literally every picture we got back was better than the last. Highly recommend doing these before your big day so you're able to see how she works and helps to ease some of the nerves!
Shortly after, COVID hit. With so many unknowns in the wedding industry (and the world) it was really unnerving to continue wedding planning. We got married in October and I probably planned 5 different versions of our wedding. Some at the venue, some at our house and all completely different. Megan was so supportive and helpful navigating it all. We didn't know exactly what we would do for our wedding until 3 weeks ahead of time but she never stressed or made me feel pressured to make a decision.
Our wedding day ended up being the most magical day. 80 degrees and sunny at the end of October. Megan captured the day perfectly and made me feel amazing. She is so professional and knows how to wrangle the family members, friends and bridal party the right way to make sure she gets the best shot. One of the best things is she's so patient. My husband hit a wall after picture 759 and he gave her a 2 picture limit before he needed a break. She didn't push him on it or get offended, which of course made him feel so much more comfortable and willing to take more pictures after a quick break. I couldn't imagine a better person to capture our wedding day!
I could go on and on about how amazing my experience was- but bottom line, she is the best of the best! We love you Megan!!! -

New Puppy Spring Photo Session
After my husband and I recently adopted our newest pup, we knew it was time for some fresh spring pictures for the whole family! I immediately thought of Megan. We have been following her work for a few years now, and even went to a wedding last year that she shot. Needless to say, we booked her.
Not only was Megan totally professional throughout the entire process, she was SO MUCH FUN to work with! Having your picture taken isn't always comfortable - knowing where to look or how to stand - but Megan created the exact opposite experience. She laughed with us, played with our dogs, and gently guided us towards capturing the most wonderful family keepsakes.

It was crazy to re-plan our wedding on such a shortened and revised timeline, but Megan made everything so simple. I knew I wanted Megan to take our one year old family portraits because once upon a time she took our engagement photos (we're talking 2013 - before she even did weddings!) and then did our maternity and newborn sessions. Oh Megan!!! She truly is the best combination of both expert and easygoing! This girl loves to have fun with her couples and her guidance brings out the most genuine smiles.
After a great first meeting, my fiancé and I booked an engagement session to get more comfortable being photographed and it made a big difference for us. Megan recommended where we should shoot and what we should wear based on our personal styles and ideal end results. Leading up to the session, she helped us let go of the butterflies by providing clear instructions and setting expectations. She delivered an incredible collection of photos that are beautifully shot and edited. Most importantly, the photos feel like an honest reflection of who Chuck and I are as a couple. We are so grateful to her and to have them to bring us back to one of the most celebratory parts of our lives.

Megan was nothing short of amazing. My original photographer had to cancel for personal reasons and I swear, everything happens for a reason because I wish I had found Megan at the start of the wedding planning process. Her editing and picture taking is breath taking. I was able to get Bridal Portraits with her, and I spend hours a day staring at the work she did. I can't wait to get our wedding day photos back. Megan is the best! We could not have asked for a better photographer for our wedding. We met her for the first time at our engagement photos. Our original day was overcast with a threat of rain, so she happily worked with us to reschedule until we had a day with *perfect* lighting. My now husband and I were incredibly awkward going into the shoot as neither one of us loving to have our picture taken, but as soon as we got started, Megan took charge in the best way possible. She made us laugh, made us feel comfortable, gave us clear instructions, and generally made it an overall great experience.
The same was true for our wedding day. She was always cool, calm, and collected with all the craziness going on that day. She captured some amazing pictures, and encouraged us (thankfully) to break away from the cocktail hour to get some golden hour sunsets on the golf course.
We cannot stop looking at our pictures! We are so blown away by them. She captured so many beautiful pictures in the best light, as well as some of the really funny ones of friends on the dance floor late night!
We had amazing vendors all around, but are SO happy we chose her to be a part of our day. Thank you Megan for making our day special and for the best memories to last a lifetime! -

Photography in our eyes is being able to capture the true essence and beauty of our most intimate and meaningful moments in life. One of these moments for us was our wedding and we entrusted Megan Kerns Photography with reminding us of each moment for the rest of our lives. As with most weddings, we were not short of stress and chaos but photography was not one of them. Our relationship with Megan started with our engagement session that was included as a part of our wedding package. Her bubbly personality, obvious talent and knowledge of the area made this session such a joy. She was able to bring the best out of us and that showed true in the quality pictures she captured. Fast forward a few months and many conversations later, our wedding was upon us. Megan and her team kept us on track all day and night. Her scheduling and punctuality ensured that we didn’t miss a moment and made our lives incredibly easy. There were so many details that were important to us and Megan didn’t miss a single one. It was as if Megan saw our venue exactly the way we did and even in ways that we couldn’t. We had our fair share of requested pictures and she managed the wedding party and families like a boss. This meant that we were able to maximize our time with family and friends as opposed to posing for pictures all evening. The moments that she captured during our reception could not have depicted it any better. There were so many qualities that made Megan the right choice for us. Her personality made her feel like our best friend. Her responsiveness and communication clearly represented her professionalism. She was able to return our pictures to us quickly and the quality of these pictures is absolutely stunning. -

Simply amazing!
If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding (or really any event in your life), Megan is your girl!! She is so kind, fun, very organized, and flexible!
My husband and I had never had professional photos done before, but Megan made us so comfortable in front of the camera and allowed us to be ourselves! I found out about Megan through friends and it has been so great to see how much she’s grown over the last few years! I was extremely excited to ask her to shoot my wedding and I couldn’t have been more pleased with her work from start to finish (engagement, bridals, and day of). Let me add that it rained my ENTIRE wedding day, and Megan was the ray of sunshine that got me through it without a single unhappy tear. She didn’t miss a beat and her second shooter, Sarah, was just the absolute best! I’m so happy Megan was apart of my wedding journey and I can’t thank her enough for everything she did to make my experience so excellent. -

We live across the country from our family, so when we had our daughter's first birthday party back home, we wanted to take lots of pictures with the friends and family she doesn't get to see all the time. I gave Megan barely any direction (whoops!) but she jumped right into the craziness that is a one year old's party and took amazing pictures! She not only got posed family photos and photos of the party decor, she caught so many candids of our daughter and her friends playing and guests having a great time. We really treasure these photos--she did a fantastic job! She was super easy to work with and very communicative. -

Megan Sent on 10/02/2018Five stars are not enough for Megan! To start off, she takes quality time to go over every detail about what YOU see as your perfect wedding day. I even asked to include my dog in photos and she didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes!!’. She is very detailed and extremely organized. She sent Google Docs with all the items she’d need from me, from there she coordinated with all my vendors, therefore we were all on the same page. This was more helpful than she’ll ever know. I didn’t have a wedding planner, so Megan coming up with a day of timeline helped me to stay on track and to be able to communicate with my venue, bridal party and parents most effectively. On the day of Megan and her team made everyone feel comfortable, laid back and beautiful. She knew what she wanted to see and made it very easy for us to understand, even the typical awkward photos she helped us feel at ease with. I just received my photos and I am blown away. I didn’t have the most ideal outdoor space and she made every shot look stunning. Megan is professional, easy to work with, friendly and has a brilliant eye for making each shot look brilliant. I’ve had multiple people tell me the pictures they’ve seen look like they could be in a magazine. I will 100% recommend Megan to anyone and everyone! -
Becky Sent on 09/29/2018We had a wonderful experience working with Megan. She was by far my most favorite wedding vendor to work with. Staring with her flexibility. Engagement photos can be difficult in the spring months due to rain, Megan worked with us multiple times with rescheduling. Finally, we had a beautiful weekend and Megan was awesome and able to capture beautiful photos (that included our two very big dogs and some not so beautiful thorns in her ankles, I'm sorry Megan!)
She has a way of making you feel so comfortable and really makes posing and laughing easy when she photographs you.
Wedding day: Megan came in with her gameface on. She knew photos were important to me but it was going to be hot so we needed to hustle. She was organized and knew exactly what photos I wanted and we had so much fun with her, our families and bridal party.
Megan, thank you for capturing the most beautiful photos, being such a kind and hardworking photographer. Along with everything else she helped me with determining locations to shoot photos, recommendations for my timeline & a few other important things. She knows what she's doing.
Tyler and I look at our photos everyday. We also LOVE the beautiful wedding day box that you sent, such a sweet keepsake.

I knew when I selected Megan I loved her photography style, but what I didn't realize is how comfortable she would make Daniel and I feel in front of the camera. On top of everything else, she is so responsive, answers any question you may have, and really helps you outline the timeline for the day to help make it the smoothest, and best day, possible! Her genuine passion and kindness shines through every day, to the point that our wedding party thought we had known her for years. Lucky for us, we feel like we gained an amazingly talented friend AND we have the bonus of being able to remember our day through her amazing photos.

Anna Sent on 08/01/2018Megan came to our home for a lifestyle session to photograph our newborn son. As things go with newborns, your best laid plans tend to fall through! He didn't eat well beforehand, so he was fussy during the session. Also, his skin was peeling all over his body, and no amount of lotion would fix it! On top of that, he had his first diaper blowout in the middle of the session! Megan was patient and positive through the fussiness and outfit changes. She wasn't rushed, she stayed longer than planned and identified multiple locations around our home with ideal lighting to take photos. Best of all, despite the circumstances, she miraculously made us look put together and captured beautiful photos we will treasure forever! We highly recommend Megan!

From our engagement photos back in 2014 to wedding photos to christmas cards to gender reveal to maternity and newborn shoots. She has done it all! Liz Sent on 12/18/2017There are no words to describe how fortunate we were to work with Megan for our wedding! After the venue, she was the first vendor we booked. She was absolutely our must-have vendor. Megan shot our engagement shoot as well as our wedding. She was timely and continuously gave us updates to her timeline. She was also very flexible and responsive to our ideas. Megan was also so accommodating with us having our puppies in our engagement shoot. Our young dogs were a little too excited during the process but not once did Megan seemed stressed or even miss a beat. For both our engagement and wedding shoot, she made sure to capture the essence of our relationship. She captured the fun, the sweet and everything in between. I would only be so lucky to work with Megan again.

Amy Sent on 02/22/2016I was lucky enough to be Megan's first wedding ever and I was blown away by her professionalism even though we were friends. She is driven, punctual and very easy to work with. We had pretty high expectations when it came to photography and she exceeded all of them when it came to her creativity of the shots. I showed her all of my "pinterest" ideas throughout the entire process and she was able to make those her own in a style that was pleasing to me. We used Megan for Engagement pictures, Bridal Portraits and our wedding and since have used her for Christmas Card pictures. We also plan to use her one day for baby photos! Love MK Photography! -

Megan outdid herself with our wedding photos! Megan was an incredible vendor to work with, she was able to wrangle our crazy family and execute every photo request we had. She gave us a great idea to "bury the bourbon" and it held off the 60% chance of rain for that day. She was professional and on point in every way and we could not have asked for a better photographer to capture our day. -
