Ashley is one talented and accommodating chef! She was able to work within our budget. All of the food and desserts were so tasty that our guests were going back for seconds and thirds. Our guests with allergies/dietary restrictions were so happy they could eat everything we had. And our guests who didn't have any allergies/dietary restrictions were so surprised that the food was gluten-free. The servers were very attentive. We had a lot of leftovers that we busted out for our post-wedding brunch the next day. The space that she does the tastings in her restaurant has all of the decor as well. Mason Dixon was just a great, stress-free full-service caterer. We could not have asked for a better caterer! -

Exceptional Service, Talent, and Professionalism
Mason Dixon was outstanding! Our experience with Ashely and her team was one of our favorites during the wedding planning process. From our phone calls, tasting, more phone calls, and the day of our wedding, we received exceptional service and professionalism. Throughout our reception numerous guests raved about the food and our wedding cake was a total knock out. Luckily we each took one bite after we cut the cake because there was none left afterward. Food and beverage service is such a big component to any wedding or event and Mason Dixon covered every detail and created a memorable experience for us and our guests!! -

Ashley is fabulous! Very professional and is great in communication. We were able to get the food and tablecloths from her. Rave comments on food. It was sooo good. Donna did a great job too and we even got some leftovers to enjoy. I can’t recommend Mason Dixon enough. They rock! So happy we chose them! -

Our desserts were DELICIOUS. My sister (who has Celiac) was SHOCKED when I told her they were gluten free. Ashley was so accommodating. They found us a custom cake stand. Our vision came to life. I can’t wait for our anniversary so we can get more of that Nutella cheesecake! -

I can't say enough good things about Ashley and her team. The food was incredible (I actually got to eat some), and I'm still getting comments about how delicious and beautifully displayed the food was. We had a tent reception for about 200 guests and opted for food stations (charcuterie/antipasti for cocktail hour, sliders, mashed potato bar, and salad for the rest). They also made our cake, and it was so so yummy. Not a single slice or mini cupcake was left the next day. Happy for everyone else; sad for me. As someone who cannot eat gluten, it was so wonderful to work with a vendor who would allow me to eat EVERYTHING at my own wedding without the guests feeling like they're compromising a delicious meal. I cannot recommend Mason Dixon highly enough. -

Eryn Sent on 03/23/2018Mason Dixon catered our wedding and everything was fabulous! We worked with Ashley to create a multi-course passed hors d'oeuvre menu -- they listened to our wants, made suggestions, and helped us to be sure even our pickiest diners were accommodated (gluten free; vegetarian; etc).
Her staff was incredible and attentive throughout the wedding. At the end of the night, she worked with our coordinators (Willow Weddings) to make a little picnic basket for the groom and I to enjoy, since we were too busy to eat much!
All the guests were stuffed and in love with the food. I cannot recommend them enough!
Some of the nitty gritty details:
1) We went in with our proposed budget and they didn't bat an eye -- they helped us to make selections that were seasonal and work with portion sizes to make sure we were within our goals. She even tallied the extras (staff, gratuity) in as we made the menu so that we would hit our target price after everything was said and done.
2) I was a pretty nervous bride after two other vendors canceled on us and Ashley was incredibly patient and reassuring, even as they simultaneously opened a second location in Birmingham.
3) We were really wanting something out of the ordinary. Instead of a traditional cake, we bought large wheels of cheese, which they decorated with seasonal fruits and herbs. They asked for our favorite foods and created this inventive passed hors d'oeuvre menu:
1st course:
----bacon wrapped dates (three ways)
----goat cheese crostinis with honey and thyme
----roasted beet chips with blue cheese mouse and balsamic glaze
2nd course:
----castillan soup shooters with jalapeno and crispy pancetta
----falafel-stuffed mushrooms
3rd course:
----southern style shrimp and grits
----red beans and rice with andouille sausage -

User1758271 Sent on 08/11/2014I ordered a wedding cake from the Mason Dixon Bakery that was covered with cream cheese icing. When I ordered the cake I spoke with the owner and she told me that the icing was very temperature sensitive and the cake needed to be frozen. When I picked up the cake it was room temperature and didn't even make it home without the icing falling off the sides. We tried to smear the icing back on the cake but it was a mess. However, when we contacted them they replaced the damaged cake with no hassle and were so understanding and helpful. The second cake was beautiful at the wedding and tasted delicious. I would order here again. -

Rebecca Sent on 07/01/2014Mason Dixon made five wedding pies for our wedding. Ashley was able to make my favorite pie, rhubarb, which is hard to find in the South. She made a pecan pie because that's my husband's favorite. I don't normally like pecan pie, but I loved the one she made for our wedding. It was excellent! -
