Jossy was just the best to work with! She was able to do everything I envisioned for the day and then some. I was worried about my makeup looking cakey, but everything she did looked as smooth as makeup could possibly look on my skin. I was also worried about not looking like myself, but she somehow worked her magic to where I still looked like me, just better! She was also able to take my multiple hair inspo pics and turn them into a beautiful style. I highly recommend booking a trial with her so you can get a feel for what your big day will be like. She was also so friendly and professional, and was a blast to hang out with the morning of my wedding! Even with the hot and humid summer day, plus plenty of dancing (and maybe some tears of joy), my hair and makeup still stayed in place. -

Saying “highly recommend” doesn’t do our feelings justice about Jossy!!!!! BOOK HER!
Jossy is the best! I was almost skeptical when I saw *how* fantastic her reviews were because hair and makeup can be so subjective, and I’ve certainly been burned before. But Jossy DESERVES the rave reviews! Jossy and her team provided the hair and makeup for our October 2024 wedding, and I don’t think words can begin to capture how invaluable they were for all ELEVEN of us (the number alone is no small feat!)! Not only is Jossy so sweet, fun to be around and was able to easily distract me when the stress was setting in, but she was SO easy to work with and her prices were very reasonable. Planning a wedding out of state was such a challenge, but she made coordination smooth despite being hundreds of miles away. Last minute, I had to add on an additional service for someone and she was so willing to accommodate the change and alleviate my stress.
I had done a hair and makeup trial prior to booking Jossy and showed them both the same inspiration photo—but only Jossy was able to bring my vision to life—and did so PERFECTLY. My makeup and hair stayed in place for 12+ hours and so did all of my bridesmaids and our mothers! Even with dancing the night away! I have never experienced that despite being in many friends’ weddings with professional hair and makeup.
Lastly, after our trial, I had a hairpiece made out of my mom’s veil and was so excited about it but had never tried it on. On the day of the wedding, I panicked when I saw how big it was and realized it would completely throw off our plans for my hair and I wasn’t willing to change what I envisioned for my hair. Jossy remained calm when I couldn’t and immediately made a game plan for how we could fix the hairpiece so I could still honor my mom. I kid you not, she coordinated with my bridesmaids to carefully remove some of the flowers from the piece/run out to get a hot glue gun/then glue them onto individual pins and instructed them on where to place them as I ran off to our first look and we were out of time. (Hairpiece before and after pics included!) She SAVED the day!! I had no idea when I booked her that I would be booking a crisis manager as well as a hair and makeup magician! Book her!! -

I hired Jossy to be a part of our Glam Team for my wedding day in May 2023 and I am so happy that I did. I reached out to Jossy in a panic after my previous make-up artist was no longer able to do our make up 2 months before our big day. She instantly checked her schedule and was able to squeeze us into her already busy day.
When people say everything happens for a reason boy are they right because I cannot imagine anyone else doing our make-up for the big day. From the moment I met Jossy at my trial I instantly knew I had made the right choice. She is so personable, making you feel comfortable throughout the whole process and treated you like you’re one of her close friends.
Jossy did an absolutely incredible job with all of our make-up looks. She tailored the style to each individual perfectly while also keeping it very natural and classy, which is exactly what I was looking for. I cannot recommend Jossy enough, I promise you will not be disappointed if you hire her!

I highly recommend Jossy. She arrived early to my home on the morning of my big day. She exceeded my expectations for hair and makeup. It also included lashes. It was not only what I wanted but also more than I could have hoped for. She made sure my hair and makeup would stay intact in 90 degree weather. I was also given a kit to help me touchup. I was able to look like a better version of myself and still feel like me. She made me feel comfortable and made the appointment fly by. I can't wait to schedule her again -

Jossy and Cheron (I hope I spelled Cheron's name correct, apologies if I misspelled it) were the Dream Team helping 7 ladies get ready for the big day. Jossy responds quickly and if she's busy and can't respond right away, she will get back to you as soon as she can. She does not forget about you. I love her personality and it was great just having fun with her during my trial and on the day of my wedding. A lot of people complimented how my makeup stayed for more than 12+ hours. It was great. My makeup turned out great in our wedding pictures. Truly the best! -

Working with Jossy was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable experiences I’ve had in getting my make up done. Getting ready for my wedding was stressful, but having Jossy there from planning my inspiration look to fulfilling my dream wedding look stood out as the highlight of my pre wedding and wedding day activities. The quality of make up she uses is high end so I didn’t have to worry about breaking out. I honestly don’t even know where to begin to write this review because I can rave on about Jossy for dayssss! From the moment I messaged her business she has been so responsive, so positive, and so easy to work with. When you work with Jossy she makes you feel like a Queen, her can do energy and attitude is so refreshing. Jossy is seriously a unicorn and having her for my glam team was the best decision I made for my big day.
Jossy also did my entire bridal party’s make up and they all could not stop looking at themselves in the mirror after Jossy did her thing! They gave her their inspo pic and Jossy NAILED IT!! To be honest you don’t even need to give Jossy an inspo pic because she can just look at you and know how to glam you up! Yes, she is that good. She’s also so flexible and her energy during the morning of the wedding was exactly what I needed. I love how my wedding make up turned out, it was everything I’ve dreamt of for my big day. I can’t thank you enough!
I would hire jossy over and over again for any future events in a heart beat!! Thank you Jossy for being there for me and my entire wedding crew! Jossy even fixed my moms make up when the make up artist my mom hired for the wedding did not deliver for my mom. My mom was so happy jossy was flexible and fixed her make up! Thank you thank you thank you! I honestly can’t wait to post the professional pictures when they are ready! -

Run don't walk to book Makeup with Jossy for all your beauty needs! Jossy created my hair and makeup look for my Wedding welcome party and rehearsal dinner. All I had to do was show her a photo of what I wanted and she made the vision come to life exactly what I wanted to the T! Both my hair and makeup held up on both nights through all the drinking, eating, dancing, and saying hi to hundreds of people. This is not to mention Jossy is the sweetest and easiest person to talk to who although she took her time with me, made the time fly by talking to me and making me laugh. Everyone could not stop talking about my hair and makeup on both nights! I really wish I had found Jossy before to book her on my actual Wedding day, anytime I am back in DC I will book her no questions asked! -

Getting married during Covid wasn’t easy! Less than 90 days before our wedding it was unclear if it would even occur. All I knew was I still wanted to get married reception or not and I needed pictures, hair and makeup even if it was just us! Booking was awesome and easy and I felt so special and beautiful! The customer service was safe and amazing and everyone asks who did my makeup! Highly recommend and affordable! Would use for future events! -

I am so glad I got to work with Jossy. I found her through wedding wire and I was so pleased! She was early (love!) and very prepared. She talked me through and showed me the ways she was keeping all of her make up and brushed hygienic and safe during the pandemic. She was so kind and friendly and a great conversationalist while also applying my make up flawlessly. Because we had an elopement and couldn’t have friends or family it was so nice to talk and be with someone so kind and outgoing, I felt like she was an old friend. My hair was curled beautifully and it held even through 98degree weather and tons of sweat. I would hire her 1,000x over. -

Jossy was my favorite vendor to work with for my wedding. She was very personable and responded to emails quickly. She really listened to my concerns and created the exact luminous skin and smokey eye look that I wanted! I even had to switch around a couple of dates and add my bridesmaids to get their makeup done and she was easily accommodating and flexible. She was very sweet and fun to talk to as my bridesmaids and I got ready for my big day. I definitely recommend choosing Jossy. -

Jossy and her team were wonderful- responsive to requests, understanding to LAST SECOND changes, and helped make this nervous bride laugh and smile :)
Jossy did hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, MIL, and stepdaughter, and everyone felt absolutely at ease. Especially since our hotel room was cancelled and the team didn't bat an eye while demanding a conference room from the hotel on our behalf. We wanted for nothing...we felt gorgeous and pampered for the big day! -

Don't think twice - HIRE HER!
Where do I begin? Jossy and her team are not only incredible at what they do, but they are also friendly, personable, and genuinely fun to be around! For me, the search for wedding hair and makeup was overwhelming and probably the most research I had to do during my wedding planning process. There were so many options, every business shares only the best of their photos, and I had 9 bridesmaids to think of so cost was definitely on my mind. I found it incredibly hard to decide who to put my trust in for one of the most important days of my life. What drew me to Makeup With Jossy initially was the pricing for her services - comparatively, they are notably more affordable than a lot of others in the DMV area. Additionally, the fact that both hair AND makeup services are offered was another huge bonus. From there, my back and forth communications with Jossy solidified that this was the absolute correct decision and I was confident after my hair and makeup trial that they would be able to achieve the look I wanted for my romantic outdoor vineyard wedding. She is relaxed, accommodating, creative, and has vision. On the day of my wedding, I decided I wanted a slightly different shade of lipstick than we had tried out previously and she took my description and mixed a brand new shade up right then and there to match my vision. AMAZING! I felt so beautiful and glamorous I didn't want to take the makeup off at the end of the night. Truly an incredible experience - Jossy, I cannot thank you enough! -

Looking around for wedding makeup was a pretty stressful experience as most companies want to over charge you for trial/day of bridal makeup. I came across Jossy's website which was 1) affordable and 2) provided just as good results. After doing my trial with them I was at ease and relaxed that they will be able to achieve my look on my wedding day. Can't wait! -

I used Makeup with Jossy for makeup and hair for my engagement photos and was so happy with my look. Jossy was able to make me look and feel glamorous while keeping my look very natural at the same time. She was super responsive and professional leading up to the photo shoot and was super fun to chat away with while doing my makeup. I highly recommend her.
