Professional, Personable, and made my wedding day!

I met Katherine from Love is Sweet over 2.5 years ago. I remember my husband and I interviewed over 4 other coordinators, but Katherine stuck out because she was able to answer ALL of our questions succinctly and was so nice about everything. She is a true professional that knows what she is doing. Throughout the entire planning processing, Katherine promptly responded to my texts and calls. She helped set everything up for our wedding day and helped take everything down. She and her team made me feel like royalty on my wedding day and I didn't worry about anything. A lot of people say that your wedding is the best day of your life and I thought that is a lot of pressure going into the weekend, but after the wedding, I truly felt like it was the BEST day of my life and I owe it to my partner, family, and the AMAZING Love is Sweet team. My wedding went so smoothly and Katherine built an amazing timeline that was perfectly executed. She kept other vendors on track and it went so smoothly. Not only did Katherine help with the coordination, but she helped with the flowers (which were within my budget AND were so beautiful) and she also helped with decor! I am very grateful for Katherine's floral connections and I am so happy how the florals turned out! I highly recommend Katherine for wedding coordination! I am going to miss talking to her regularly!

Wedding went as planned and more!

There are not enough words for me to express how much I appreciate Doris!! I would like to thank Doris for helping me plan our wedding! We decided to host it at home, so there were so many factors to considered.
From day one, she has been attentive and detailed. Although I was the one procrastinating, she was very patient and kept me on schedule. She stepped in when I could not balance planning, work, and school, and took the lead on things I sat on. We had a full day and through each phrase, she ensured the vendors arrived/set up on time, the "to-do" list was taken care of, and kept the program moving along. Any issues that arise, she took care of it and did not have to come to us for a solution. If you are unsure where to start, get easily overwhelmed, or have a bad habit of procrastinating, Doris can help you get through it to make it happen. Thank you again, Doris!

If there's a 10 starts option, I will give it to this awesome planning team in a heart beat. My team and I had the pleasure to work with Candace and her team. Candace is certainly one of the best weddings/events planners out there to work with. She is very organized and follow through with all emails and text message for the entire process. As we all know how crazy busy it can get on any wedding day, with her and her team's help, not only we were worry free, we were able to have more than enough time to create some amazing photo and video for our clients. My apologies for the late review, but l really wanted to let everyone know how amazing this company really is. Candace, Doris and team were truly god sent, hand picked just for me and my husband and I will be forever grateful for the amazing job they did at my wedding. keep in mind that I contacted them 3-4 months before my big day! they were kind professional and a true compliment to my undecided life! I had 7 brides maids and 7 grooms men on top of my 150 guest. My wedding took place in the beautiful city of long beach and it was one of the best days of my life and that was due to the professionalism and care of Love Is Events! Choose them and thank me later!

Above and Beyond!

Our wedding was perfect and Candace, Katherine and their team were by far the biggest reason for it. They went well above and beyond what was expected of them when planning our wedding. They were so helpful, so organized, and it was clear that they love what they do. We also had Candace do all our floral arrangements and we couldn’t have been happier with how beautiful everything was. On the day of the wedding, Katherine did so much to make sure the wedding went smoothly. She kept everyone on schedule, made sure everything that needed to be set up was done for us, made sure we were fed and stayed hydrated, and so much more. Too much to list here. We are so overwhelming grateful to Candace and Katherine!!

Fantastic! Life savers! You need them for your special day!

Amazing! Wasn’t planning on getting a coordinator in the beginning but I am so glad that I did! I worked with Katherine and from the very beginning she was so very sweet and helpful. When we told her that we wanted a Disneyland themed wedding she was on board right away and didn’t think we were insane lol since we didn’t know how we were going to pull off of our theme and not have it be cheesy we brainstormed with Katherine and she really came through. Throughout the whole process if I had any question, big, small, weird, she never failed to answer me within a good time frame.

The month leading up to the wedding was when Katherine showed her true super powers. She made sure to get into contact with all of our vendors to get any permits and insurance that were needed for the venues which was such a big help for me since that was what I dreaded the most

And the day of!! Oh my! Amazing amazing! She had two other girls helping her out the entire day and all three of them made my wedding the most amazing day ever! If I had a question, they had an answer or they would find me an answer right away! I had one girl stay with me throughout the day to make sure I was always on time (or as on time as you can be on your wedding day) all three girls stayed until the very end of the wedding which I thought was great

Overall, I could not recommend their services more. Amazing work ethic, amazing service, and amazing people that are amazing :)

They made our lives so easy!

I hired Love Is Sweet Events for their month-of coordination. From the first meeting after we signed up for this program, Candace already worked with me to draft up a wedding day timeline and gave me so many suggestions with regards to vendors, how to decorate my venue, how to discuss my needs with vendors, what to look out for when signing contracts, etc. She liaised with all my vendors to confirm their arrival time to the venue, made sure all insurances were in place, and all final payments were made. On the day of the wedding, she and her assistant kept close communication with me, my husband, and my bridal party to ensure everyone was where they were supposed to be at the correct times. My husband and I did not have to sweat at all about where our things were and if we should clear up anything in the venue before leaving to our rooms in the hotel. By the time we made it to our hotel room, we found everything neatly packed in boxes and ready for us to take home. The whole day moved by quickly yet flawlessly. I'm going through a conflict with my venue over-charging us for the bar tab. I had messaged Candace for confirmation on the details and she was very quick to respond with backup details to support me. I would recommend Love Is Sweet Events to all my friends!

Amazing Coordinator

Candace and her team did an incredible job for my wife and I's wedding in Pasadena on November 11. She helped us throughout the entire process to ensure that our wedding went off without a hitch and it was an incredible time for us and all of our guests. They made my big day such a success!

Candace, and her team of Angela and Doris, did such an amazing job to ensure my wedding went super smoothly! Unfortunately, my venue made several errors, such as giving my team only 45 mins to set up our venue room instead of 90 mins, but I didn't even know about this until after the wedding b/c Candace and her team handled it, hustled, and got it done in time. You hire coordinators so that you are able to relax and enjoy your big day and know that they will problem-solve and handle any issues that come up without you having to step in, and that is what they did for me so I am very happy with the services they provided. I planned a wedding that had a unconventional flow and Candace did such a great job of helping me build the timeline months before, and onsite her team made sure everything flowed the way it was supposed to! Thank you for all of your hard work, it certainly paid off and the day was perfect!

One of the most patient and brilliant coordinators I have ever interacted with. I was so nervous for my special day, and Candace was able to keep everything in flawless order. My husband (so nice to say it) was a bit of a pain, but she never once made us feel like we were an inconvenience. I hired Candace and Love is Sweet to handle the last two weeks leading up to my daughter's June 22nd wedding. My daughter and soon to be son in law had taken care of most of the details prior to our food tasting in April at the venue. Adelmo Zarif at the Cicada Club, the wedding venue had suggested that I contact Candace to "run the show". Am I glad that he made the suggestion and even happier that I listened to him. This was the best money spent on the event! I am a stickler for details and so is Candace. She gave me so much piece of mind. I could actually be a guest at our daughter's wedding. She took the stress out of the weeks leading up to the wedding and on the day itself. She coordinated all the vendors and made sure that everything went smoothly and on time. She worked exceptionally well with our bakery, Pitchoun which made the French butter cream cake as well as 300 mini tarts. Thanks to her and her staff, the wedding was "uneventful." It was perfect! I am a person who is very hard to please, so if I say that she is terrific, she is.

Hiring Love is Sweet Event's day of coordination for wedding day is one of the best decisions I ever made. Katherine was the main coordinator and she is super sweet and nice. I've been doing most of the wedding planning myself as I like to be in control and arrange things on my own. But I know I will be crazy busy on the day of and I need someone to help me to execute the things I planned.

Kathrine was very organized and I had really good first impression of her during our consultation. I decided to hire her on the same day. She's easily accessible and responded to email, text, calls quickly. I had to make some last minute timeline changes and special requests and she was able to accommodate and made the changes quickly.

I had a rehearsal the day before my wedding day, Katherine and two assistant coordinators (Angela and Jennifer) all came and did the rehearsal in a few runs. It really helped us and wedding party to know the rundown on the day of.

On the big day, they arrived way before the vendors to start preparing for the setup. Jennifer also came by makeup studio I was at to check up on me. She was assisting me the whole time during wedding photo time.

By the time we done with photo and walked back the venue, I almost teared up when I saw the setup. Things were setup the way I envisioned if not better. No words can describe how happy and excited I was.

Everything went smoothly through out the night and I can't thank Katherine, Angela and Jennifer enough. After all the guests left and we are about to go home, all the items we need to take home have already been neatly packed and put in our car.

I highly recommend Love is Sweet Event if you want your special occasion to run smoothly and hassle free.

Being we had wished to infuse some of our Chinese traditions into our modern wedding taking place outdoors in Los Angeles Chinatown, we knew when we first met Candace Lam of Love Is Sweet Events, she was the wedding planner we wanted.

Candace at Love is Sweet Events is spectacular. I would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding. I had absolutely nothing to worry about the week before and the day of my wedding because I trusted that Candace and her team would have everything sorted out, and they did! She and her team went above and beyond, and made the wedding day seamless from start to finish.
• Responsive and approachable: Candace made herself available via phone, text, email and always responded within 24 hours
• She has experience and put me at ease: Candace really knows her stuff. Anytime I had a question, she had the answer. Anytime I called her a tad stressed, she’d always say: “We’ll take care of you, don’t worry”. Her calm nature put me at ease every time.
• So organized and well prepared: For example, to prep for the wedding day, she provided each vendor with instructions and a shortened timeline customized for them. She reviewed all contracts and always caught something I missed.
• They know how to manage a huge wedding party: 10 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen. Candace printed out a shortened timeline for the bridesmaids and groomsmen, as well as tips for them to keep in mind on the wedding day. The wedding party was so impressed!
• They go above and beyond: Candace went above and beyond in every way!
• Lots of integrity: I could the team 100%. On the wedding day, I was comfortable leaving them with about 20 envelopes filled with cash tips for our vendors.
• Extremely professional: Even our guests were noticing and commenting on how awesome our planning team was!
• So friendly! Candace is such a genuinely kind and friendly person. It’s so easy to get along with her. I felt so quickly as though we were friends.

Candace was my wedding planner and she did a great job. I'm a bit of a bridezilla and she handled it with class. I know I made some serious demands of her, but she handled it like a pro. She didn't get snippy at my micromanaging either, which scores her some huge points with me. She understood I wanted everything perfect and she just let me do my thing. She kept me from making a few really bad decisions. I'm thankful for her experience and every bride needs someone who's done a lot of weddings and knows what not to do.
She's an artist and she has a ton of creative genius. She really helped me together a lavish event. She did all the work. I just got to make fun decisions. I wasn't stressed out at all like the brides I see on TV. I think I almost didn't have enough to do, which is why I was a bit of a bridezilla. I kept adding stuff but Candace kept everything moving. I would tell anyone to pick her. She was worth it.

Impeccable service. The team was great from start to finish. I think every time I mentioned something they had already thought of it and often had a solution already. The team pays attention to detail. I mean down to every fork, napkin, etc. Everyone was complimenting me on how smooth everything went. I had to give props to my wedding planner(s). They offered us some really creative ways to save money which is much appreciated. While most wedding planners spend, spend, spend, I know for a fact these ladies called in a couple favors that saved me quite a bit of money. They understand that money saved will go toward our new life together. I am really glad I found them and would urge any bride who has the chance to use their services.

I really don't know where to start. I am honestly tearing up trying to write this. Let me start by saying this. Candace was my absolute rock through this entire process. It was a bit of a rocky road because I am pregnant and my situation isn't ideal. Candace was a wedding planner, counselor, family mediator, and more. She went way above and beyond and took a smaller budget and made my perfect day.
She was always available when I called her, or if I had to leave a message, she called back in a matter of minutes. She really helped me get my fiance (husband now :) ) involved when he was shying away from decisions. She really brought me out of a lot of funks I got myself in with all the hormones.
I honestly believe Candace was meant to do this. There are some people who have jobs, but this seems like a career for her. She loves it. Not only that, she loves making brides happy (me!). I had some pretty crazy demands and all of them on a smaller budget of course, but she found a way to accommodate me or bring me back to Earth. She was able to get all of my must haves and plenty of my like to haves. She pulled off a miracle and I am so grateful!

Hiring Love is Sweet Events was some of the best money spent on our wedding! Angela and Katherine did our day of coordination on our wedding day. Although we hired them as day-of coordinators, they began working far in advance. They helped us organize all of the information necessary for our wedding day, offered to run errands for the wedding, and worked with the reception venue wedding coordinator to gather vendor insurance information. On the day of the wedding, they made it so stress free for my husband and me. We didn't have to worry about anything because they were overseeing everything. I couldn't be happier with Love is Sweet Events and our fantastic coordinators Angela and Katherine!

My and wife and I truly enjoyed working with Candace and the team. We had a small wedding, and I didn't originally think we needed a planner. But my fiancé was overwhelmed despite her own excellent organizational skills. Clearly there was a lot more to wedding planning than either of us ever thought! After a little research and interviews, we ended up choosing Love is Sweet Events and we don't regret that choice at all. They were attentive to our needs, creative, and our wedding was beautiful. Candace and her team did an awesome job coordinating our wedding! The last thing we wanted to worry about was a stressful wedding day and they made sure it went very smoothly. We had a great time and received a lot of compliments from our guests on how punctual and smooth the wedding went. Candace was very detailed and organized from the beginning and was helpful throughout the entire process. Hiring Candace/Love is Sweet Events was the best money my husband and I spent for our wedding. From the first time my then-fiance and I contacted Candace, she's impressed me again and again with how organized, patient, and friendly she is. The first time we met, she showed us examples of the detailed timelines, venue layouts, and vendor contact lists we would get if we hired her as our wedding coordinator. It was clear she knew what she was doing, and we wouldn't have to worry about things falling through the cracks if we hired her. It was also clear from our first meeting that she loves what she does and loves working with couples, and that was the kind of person we wanted working on our wedding, so we decided to hire her.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Candace and her assistant Jennifer, were readily available to answer any and all questions, and offer advice or vendor recommendations, as needed. Our wedding venue was at a summer camp, which was a beautiful outdoor/indoor space, but was essentially a blank slate, and required that we rent and bring everything in, from tables and chair, to cups and silverware. Candace skillfully handled all the vendors, and with the help of her assistant Jennifer, sent vendor specific timelines to each of our vendors, so they would all be well-prepared for our wedding day and knew exactly when they were expected to arrive. She also was endlessly patient with our contact at our venue, who was a rather difficult person to deal with.

On the day of the wedding, having Candace and her team taking care of all the logistics allowed my husband and I to focus on the wedding day, and fully enjoy every moment of it, rather than worrying about setup at the venue, vendor deliveries, etc. If anything went wrong during the day, my husband and I knew nothing about it, which is exactly the way I wanted it. In short, if you're at all considering hiring a wedding coordinator, you can't do any better than Love Is Sweet Events!

Candace and her staff at Love is Sweet Events were THE best investment we made in planning our wedding! We hired her to coordinate our July 2014 wedding in Agoura Hills, and she really went above and beyond to make our day amazing. We are a very DIY-couple, and made many of our decorations and plans ourselves, but needed help to make everything come together and flow smoothly on the big day. Candace helped us find some of our vendors (Jessica Elizabeth photographers and Deefined Floral Designs were AMAZING finds!), kept us informed of what we should be doing and when, and was absolutely lovely to work with! Candace made sure everyone was where they needed to be on the big day, and that all of our decorations were set up the way we wanted them. She and her assistants even took the time to move the chairs for the ceremony into the arrangement I wanted when the venue told us that they couldn't do it unless we paid an extra $150. She and her staff were professional, reliable, and absolutely made a difference in making the day into the perfect experience we had been hoping for. If you aren't sure whether you want a wedding coordinator/wedding planner or are trying to choose among several, let me tell you, you will most definitely be happy if you choose Love is Sweet for your big day!

I wanted a big, extravagant wedding and my (now) husband and I had the means, but the issue is, we didn't have the time. You have to be a very creative person to organize your own wedding correctly. Unfortunately, neither of us are organized and we live such hectic lives it is almost impossible to keep everything in order. We got an amazing package deal from this company, and allowed them to do literally everything. I was a bit of a bridezilla at times, but they handled me very well. Can't believe the level of patience that was given to me. I don't know how they do it, because I never would be able to. My wedding was beautiful, everything I dreamed of. None of it would of been possible if it wasn't for this event planner.

We live in the city, and my daughter wanted a beach wedding. We had no idea where to even begin with that, since were not too familiar with the beach towns. Love is Sweet Events took care of it all. They have an abundant amount of resources and really know their stuff. They got my daughter her dream venue in a beautiful beach/Victorian town. They even helped her pick out her dress. Nicest bunch of people I have ever met in my life, and they definitely don't overcharge. Highly recommend.

I really could not say enough good things about this company. They take care of virtually everything, from start to finish. They really care about their clients, and want to ensure the best day possible. When you give them your price point, they make sure they work their hardest to stay within means. They helped us with everything - from venue to caterers to DJ to flower arrangements. They are so creative, they came up with so many ideas that we would of never thought of ourselves. Great people, thank you for making the day so wonderful.

I hired Love is Sweets to work my daughters wedding. Anyone has ever planned a big wedding knows how much work it takes. Instead of stressing out over your big day, you should be able to enjoy it. That's the gift that I wanted to give to my daughter. This event planning service was one of the best around. They kept in constant contact with us around the clock, getting our final approval about everything. They were very patient, kind, and thoughtful. My daughter got so many compliments on her wedding day about how beautifully done everything was. Really superb service, would not hesitate to recommend them.

Love is Sweet Events really helped save my wedding! I really was sure I would be able to handle all the preparations on my own. However, it got extremely daunting and I didn't know what to do. Trying to work full time and planning a wedding is somewhat impossible. I found Love is Sweet, called them and explained my circumstances, and they were more than happy to step in. What I liked most about them is, they stuck to my vision. The stuff I had already done, they left alone. Their packages are also extremely affordable; something that any bride can be appreciated of. My wedding went off without a hitch, and I am beyond grateful to them for that. Thank you!

It was such a pleasure to have Love is Sweet Event to help me on wedding planning and the wedding day! Candace and her staffs are so professional and responsible.

Wedding planning is very stressful, Candace was able to help us to find better vendors and gave us many advises to make my wedding day less stress. :) Candace was extremly sweet to hand made all my escort cards for my wedding!! They look so cool and i received tons of compliments on them!

Love is Sweet truly served their purpose. When I began looking for an event planner, I was confused. Some of them charged way too much money; definitely more than my budget allowed. Others didn't offer services for everything, and I needed help with EVERYTHING.

Love is Sweet worked with me to fit my budget. They were very affordable and friendly as well. At times I went bridezilla a bit, and they never lost patience with me. They helped me through every step of the process, start to finish. My wedding came out well organized, well planned, and beautiful thanks to them.

Originally, I was going to plan my entire wedding myself. My family thought I was insane, but I was determined to do it. However, after only a couple of months of trying to plan, I got so overwhelmed and burnt out. I was confused on venue, food, flowers, etc. I knew I needed help.

I found Love is Sweet, and contacted them for help. The woman I originally spoke to was extremely kind, patient, and thorough with me. I explained to her exactly the type of wedding I had in mind, and the team got to work right away.

Pricing was extremely affordable; way cheaper than I expected from a full service event. They took care of everything for me, just asking for my opinion along the way. I got to actually be involved in the process, instead of having everything done for me.

My wedding day turned out to be picture perfect and beautiful, thanks to Love is Sweet. I really couldn't of asked for better service. Great company, and excellent people to work with. Highly recommend!

Candace and her team were beyond amazing! Candace and her team gave month-of coordination for our wedding and they were worth each penny. What I cherished the most about Candace was her trustworthiness. She positively had our best interest at heart. She was ALWAYS extremely proficient and took the time to answer any inquiries via phone or email. Our wedding was flawless on account of her! Candace and her team at Love is Sweet events did an amazing job for our wedding. They were very helpful and responsive throughout the planning process, and the their day of coordination was invaluable. Candace genuinely cared about making our wedding a success. Our wedding day consisted of three different ceremonies - a Chinese tea ceremony, Korean paebaek, and a Church wedding, and everything went smoothly as planned without a single hitch. The name "Love is Sweet" says it all. Candace from Love is Sweet is as sweet as she can be. She is professional, creative and knows her job very well as a planner. She not only planned and coordinated my friend's wedding but she was also a great MC for that day. She is an all rounder and she pays attention to detail in all her designs and work. I was pleased to refer her to my friend after having seen her work prior and will continue to refer her. We are so very grateful to the amazing team of Love is Sweet Events. They are honestly so sweet, helpful, patient, and offered true expertise and we couldn’t have found a more talented company to coordinate our special day. We knew immediately from our initial meeting with Candace that she would be the perfect person and didn’t bother to meet with other planners. It took some convincing from the fiance back east but by the end of the night, when it all unfolds, he even mention how hiring Candace was the best investment choice for our wedding day. It really affords one the ability to worry less on your big day and rather share the joy with your loved ones. The truth of the matter is that in a sense, planning a wedding is stressful, but with Candace’s guidance on your side, you can rely on her timely responses, attention to details, and a wealth of knowledge in the industry. We loved that she is multilingual and easily communicated via phone/emails to our vendors, guests, and families from out of state and country. That speaks volumes when she is so attentive to members of your family. Above all, we were really impressed with her hard work and meticulous details that made everything seem impossible possible, right up to “last minute” touches throughout the day. It virtually made our day stress-free and we still joke about how we can actually sit down and enjoy the food, wine and cake! We had a blast! We have received so many great compliments from our guests. Without a doubt, Candace is a sweetheart and we highly recommend her services to couples planning their dream wedding.

From weeks prior to the wedding to a flawless day, I always felt I was working hand in hand with an amazing professional! Love Is Sweet was on point and worked very hard to run the day and night. I remember smiling with a sense of pride together throughout the whole night at the happiness and glow on our Bride and Groom's faces. I had the most stress-free wedding day because of Candace, my wedding coordinator at Love Is Sweet Events. From our initial appointment I felt like I could trust her with the most important day of my life. She was comfortable to work with, her sense of style was impeccable, and she knew what themes/decorations that would make me happy. She suggested the best vendors so I didn't have to do the research on photographers, videographers, florists, and caterers myself. I don't know what I would have done without her on the day of my wedding. She made sure all deliveries were on time and the guests knew what was going on. My husband and I were able to just enjoy the party.

So first off, after getting engaged, first day of wedding planning, Candace is hire number one. She is with Love is Sweet Events. A friend at work recommended her and said she was more than a wedding planner. After contacting and discussing with Candace what I was after, she said no problem and quickly made my concerns, issues, and problems hers. She stayed in contact with me just about every day it seemed like! Sometimes through email, phone or text. I guess whichever way I preferred! She isn't worthy of any less stars than a straight across the board 5 star! I promise, if you hired Candace, you too will be writing a 5 star review on her shortly after your wedding day. One of the most professional coordinators I have worked with. I am an interior decorator and I work with many other coordinators in my profession so I know what to expect from a professional coordinator. If you are planning a wedding any time soon, I highly recommend hiring Candace with Love is Sweet Events. She is very communicative, honest, and helpful. She will take your mediocre ideas and turn them into something special. When I was her client, she called me with ideas and questions. Not problems hoping I would have the solution. She def. understands the bride moods and stress level. I was on the verge of many panic attacks before Candace took over. I wanted an old fashion yet trendy wedding and she perfected my desires. Love is Sweet Events pulled off a fantastic wedding with what seemed like ease. Maybe when it is your wedding everything just seems much harder, unimaginable, and stressful! Either way, Candace was able to pull off one of the best weddings I have ever been to! Okay, I might be a little biased since it was my wedding. I enjoyed working with her to put together the whole thing. She is a very hard working, devoted coordinator and it shows. Her every desire was to make sure we were happy with every detail. I loved being able to stand on the outside and go " yes to that! no to that! and SURE!! I love adding that! Great Idea! ". My mom said my skin was glowing when I walked down the isle. Thumbs up Candace! I just loved her work. Everyone felt comfortable and at ease at the wedding! To my amazement I didn't realize she knew Chinese! My husbands family traveled all the way from China and they absolutely loved conversing with her! She just kept pulling tricks out of her hat! As a photo booth vendor, outdoor events are often challenging, but Candace saved the day for us at a garden wedding at Cafe Pinot in Downtown L.A. After warmly welcoming my team and I, she quickly solved problems of location and electrical connections. She managed to find enough additional electrical cord for me to span the shortfall from a new location to the nearest outlet. Resourceful, friendly and professional, Candace is a skilled, well-organized wedding planner. I highly recommend her and look forward to working with her again soon.

I hired Candace as our day-of coordinator for our wedding, but that title is incredibly deceiving-- she was *so much more* than just a day-of coordinator!!

When I first began searching for a coordinator, I was surprised at how many planners seemed really unorganized-- flaking on initial meetings, unresponsive to inquiries about their services, etc. . Candace was the complete opposite-- incredibly organized, meticulous, and professional throughout the entire process. As an added bonus, she has an amazing personality and is an absolute joy to be around, which not only makes pre-wedding meetings super awesome, but also made my rehearsal a breeze and calmed any wedding day jitters I had. The wedding turn out as everything that I was aspected and She was so wonderful.

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience working with Love is sweet events. It was kind of last minute to look for a wedding planner because as the wedding approches and getting closer and closer, friends and family are giving me more and more opinions or tell me what to do. I actually want them to enjoy my wedding as well, so I looked for someone who is in the sgv area and I found love is sweet.

On my wedding day, Candace was the main coordinator she took care of bridal party, she cared for her customer and making sure everything goes smoothly.
My mom was so impressed because she actually speaks very fluent cantonese and mandarin, so it makes everything so much easier when it comes to communicating, her staff was so helpful and nice and brought us food while we were getting ready.
Honestly, I will refer all my bride to be to Candace because she is experienced, smart and sweet,very good at problem solving. Basically you have no worries at all, and I am so glad that we found Love Is Sweet Events. They are amazing and we had the most fun day ever.

Katherine was my main coordinator throughout the months leading up to my wedding and she was always very responsive. I really liked that she took the extra step of coming to my house to pick up decorations and sitting with me to go over the schedule a week prior when I had only hired them to coordinate for the day of. They also provided additional decor for free and I really appreciated them going above and beyond with small gestures like that :)

On rehearsal day and the wedding day, Katherine, Candace, and Michelle were all there and I could tell they were working hard and cared for things to be perfect more than I did lol. Thanks for grabbing me all those drinks during the 2hr photo session w/ my guests!

Love is Sweet is amazing! From the minute that I met Candace I knew that I would be in good hands. She is warm, sweet, and knowledgeable. Her team is also great- and all of them were very responsive to questions throughout the entire planning process. The day of, they had everything under control-- setting everything up as I had envisioned. They also packed everything up so nicely at the end of the party- and in a flash! I definitely recommend having a coordinator for the month leading up to your wedding day and for the day of--- and Candace and Love is Sweet is the way to go! Candance is great but beware of who she assigns as an assisntant

Our venue required a day-of coordinator and we luckily found Candace. To provide context, I'm a Type A bride with a 20-tab spreadsheet tracking every detail. I’ve worked in project management and operate my life this way. I didn't need much help except thinking through logistics for an event of this scale: wrangling vendors, managing the timeline, and handling setup/takedown. Candace was able to do just that.

Pros
a) Candace provides seating chart, RSVP tracking, and other templates to help manage information (I didn't need these as I already had them organized).
b) She provides timely email responses.
c) You get one general meeting to discuss vision and expectations, a venue walkthrough a few months prior, then a final meeting for decor, setup/takedown, and timeline. Come prepared with questions and documentation.
d) The day itself seemed to go smoothly. There was a snafu with dinner as our DJ/MC introduced speeches consecutively (including our thank you that was supposed to segue into dancing). It’s unclear if this was miscommunication or covering a venue issue. But despite arriving late and finishing the ceremony early, the day went as planned.
e) Decor takedown was done before the event ended (while dancing continued) so our parents didn't have to stay late.

Cons
a) Tammy was the assistant for rehearsal and day-of. She seemed less experienced than Candace and had a condescending demeanor. Examples:
* 1) During rehearsal, I was stressed by my mom and struggling with AirPods to practice my processional song secretly. Tammy told my in-laws, friends, and husband something like "this is too much for the bride to handle, she needs a moment”, making me sound like I was crashing out. I wasn't crying, screaming, or acting out. After checking on me due to that statement, my husband went back to tell the group, "she's just struggling with the AirPods."
* 2) When I realized we forgot things at our Airbnb (3 minutes away), I gasped and did a little squat to the floor. She immediately said "you need to calm down. You seem very stressed. Everything will be fine, and remember to smile." I was actually extremely calm (no butterflies, panic, nothing). I responded "I am. My friend will grab it quickly." She kept reiterating this for most of the pre-ceremony time (my husband noted this too), making us wonder if it was more for her benefit.
* 3) I made a Canva file clearly laying out decor for the Arch, Aisle, Sweetheart Table, Cocktail Hour, and Guest Tables, with detailed notes. My husband and friends had to decorate our arch (another con: I wish we'd been told months in advance during the venue tour that Candace's team couldn't do it for liability reasons, not 3-4 weeks before). We understood Tammy and Candace would set up the rest since it didn't require a ladder. I'd labeled every box and asked if they wanted to review the decor during rehearsal, but they said they had the designs printed and were all good. Apparently not as Tammy was confused by the aisle markers when my husband was supposed to help with arch set up. She didn't understand them, so he had to take time away from arch setup to show her the boxes and explain them. She still seemed confused about whether they tie to chairs or go on the ground, which is weird for someone who's supposedly worked weddings before as well as seen the design files.
* 4) During my mother's speech, she stood in the wrong spot for the photographer manning our DSLR video camera. The photographer was gently trying to redirect her when Tammy aggressively moved her. My mom laughed it off, but we discussed it the next day as from a spectator perspective, it was overly aggressive.
Overall, we didn't appreciate Tammy as she felt more discombobulated and stressed than us, speaking to us and guests in a dismissive/condescending tone.

b) At times, we got better direction from our photographer than Tammy and Candace. Our photographer seemed to be wrangling Tammy in addition to us. We barely saw Candace but she did check on us a few times. Our parents felt the same. We assume Candace was managing behind-the-scenes work with F&B and venue teams, but unclear.

c) We felt we were waiting around when we should have been taking photos or mingling with guests. We'd built in buffer for alone time and guest time but didn't get the latter until dancing. We didn't attend cocktail hour at all when we had arranged for 20 minutes for us to mingle with guests after our grand entrance/first game/group photos. We just went straight into dinner. There were moments we just stood around waiting with little communication about why, missing opportunities to experience our wedding with guests, probably our biggest regret despite the overall lovely day.

Overall, we were satisfied with Candace's work leading up to and on the wedding day but wish she had brought a different assistant.

I hope you read this review because I need to tell people I was not happy with Candace service. It was a very STRESS FULL experience. the communicaton was never done in a timely manner ,i was not happy with her decisions and I was more hands on than she was . What was more disturbing was her security deposit amount. I should have walked away when the request was for 50% down. My event was for a Baby Shower and the total cost was for $1350.00, to make a long story short, i had to cancel the service after 3 weeks of service. I was not entitled for a refund nor was she willing to make a fair partial refund, due to how unhappy i was with her service.

So beware- DO NOT get involve with a business who does not care about customer service or how they preform. These two qualities is what makes a business SUCCESSFUL.
