Marcia did all the work. She gave a wonderful ceremony with all the trimmings that I choice. Flowers, doves, musician, etc... all were great. My wedding did not cost a million dollars, but I informed everyone that I had a million dollar wedding, due to it being so great! Thank you Marcia. Still married and very happy! You're the best! -

Marcia was wonderful to work with! She was recommended to me by a coworker that used her 12 years ago for her wedding.
Marcia made it very easy to plan a destination wedding at a fraction of the price other vendors required, but the value of what you get from Bali Hai Weddings is top notch.
She's very laid back (which made the whole process less stressful) and flexible. We made quite a few last minute changes like ceremony start time, the ceremony itself, dinner reservation time, etc.. and she graciously handled all of our requests. Rev. Lopaka Barrett performed our ceremony. We had a Hawaiian ceremony, but he added in our traditional Christian customs. The backdrop of the ocean and sunset gave a more spiritual island feel. Everyone really enjoyed him.
They made our dream wedding come true!! -

Bali Hai Weddings did a wonderful job in planning my wedding ceremony. Besides obtaining the marriage license, all we had to do was literally show up, as advertised. I was nervous about planning a wedding out of state (we are from Michigan). There were other companies we researched online, but after speaking with Jessica, obtaining a quote, and seeing the other reviews, we picked Bali Hai Weddings.
Bali Hai Weddings coordinated the marriage license appointment for us and they also provided suggestions for our stay on Kauai. They were responsive to my emails as well. As our big day approached, they were very flexible in changing the time of the ceremony, as I originally requested a morning ceremony but we changed our minds and wanted a sunset ceremony. I didn't have to worry about finding a photographer, videographer, officiant, or a witness. Bali Hai also helped with suggestions on location for the ceremony.
When we arrived on Kauai, Bali Hai contacted us to ensure we didn't have any last minute questions. When we arrived at the ceremony location (Shipwrecks Beach, a very short walk from our hotel the Grand Hyatt), we were met by one of the Bali Hai representatives and the other vendors. Everything went smoothly and the officiant, Pastor Kilborn, was fantastic. We knew our ceremony on the beach would be special, but it was so much better than either one of us could ever have imagined.
I would highly recommend Bali Hai Weddings to anyone who plans on getting married on Kauai. -

I cannot say enough about Bali Hai. From the coordinator, to the officiant, and the photographer it was all very exceptional service! Marcia has the most beautiful spirit and we were blessed to have her marry us. Their prompt responses to all of our questions was great. The photographer was excellent as well. We cannot stop looking at our photos,they are gorgeous! -

I had the most wonderful experience with Bali Hai Weddings. Jessica always responded timely to my inquiries and provided me with all (and additional) information when I requested it. There was not a single thing that she didn't not overlook or miss when it came to handling the office duties.
Marcia is a one of a kind woman, who is so kind, sweet, positive, and selfless. She always made you feel as if you were her only client. Her positive attitude is very calming and comforting. I will never forget that "There are never problems.. only solutions".
I highly recommend Bali Hai Weddings to any bride to be (and groom). They truly LOVE what they do and it shows when they deliver excellence. (Not to mention.. their price is a steal!)
Thank you for making our day one of the most stress free and spectacular days of our lives.

They were great about answering emails the same day, providing suggestions for reception spots and even someone for hair and makeup. Jessica and Marcia were not only friendly, organized and accountable, they provided my husband and I a wonderful day that we will remember always. The flowers in the bouquet and leis were absolutely perfect with the colors I had given and Jessica was on top of the details of the entire planning process. Rick and I were married on January 24th. It was just the 2 of us, and thanks to Marcia and Bali Hai Weddings, it was the most amazing and special day. Although it was just the 2 of us, Marcia treated us as if we were having a huge wedding. She made us feel special and cared for. Marcia and Jessica were awesome. Marcia's enthusiasm for our event was contagious. We felt like we were the only people on the planet. She made everything so easy for us. Also, she recommended Irene for hair and makeup. Irene did an awesome job and I felt beautiful on my wedding day. Also, Marcia setup a private dinner on the beach after our ceremony. All I can say is AWESOME! She brought in a chef from a local restaurant and he cooked everything right there on the beach! Marcia M. IS SO SO SO awesome!!! My husband and I wanted to elope in Kauai, Hawaii--so we did a google search, read some reviews, and found her!!!
We emailed back and forth a few times before we flew out to the island -- and met with her -- it was like an awesome blind date! :)
She took care of allll our arrangements, and made everything nice and easy.
Did I mention.. awesome?!?!?
We eloped out at Hanalei, Bay --- google search THAT... and you will NOT be sorry.
Most gorgeous spot EVER.... a sunset wedding... weather was perfect... Hawaiian themed/elements... so awesome. Marcia recommended this spot!!! No regrets to THAT!!! :)

We loved the quick communication (phone or email within hours), felxibility (we had up to the day prior the wedding to decide on the venue) and easiness of the whole process. From obtaining the original quote, to selecting the beach to get married on, to receiving our amazing photos in the mail, neatly arranged in an album with congratulation note, they were on top of it! They had the patience to deal both with my husband's obsession with details and my indecisevness! Thank you Jessica and Marcia for making this a uneque experience for Zac and I!!! -

Overall everything was wonderful, but I want you to know that this is a very low key, laid back way of getting married. Jessica was VERY responsive. Everything was a breeze, I barely had to do a thing. However, I would say if you have a specific image of what you want your wedding day to be like, you MUST state it verbally, or through email of course, and confirm any and everything about your day. Or rehearse!
What I specified:
~I wanted my sister to be a flower girl and our ring bearer. It all came together without a rehearsal and it was adorable!
~We needed a chair for our grandma who can't stand for too long. We got that too, Thank you!
What I didn't specify:
~I wanted my family on one side, his on the other, neatly lined up. Didn't happen. Our wedding photos of our ceremony ALL have our family walking around us in the background taking their own pics!
~We wanted a sparkling toast, which we got, but we wanted glasses for everyone, not just the two of us. I actually did say that we would need 15 glasses, but it may have slipped through the cracks since maybe they don't usually do that.
~We selected a set of vows on the wedding questionnaire before our wedding. We specifically requested the NON-religious one as we are not religious. But I never verbally confirmed it with our planner and was very disappointed to hear the reverend's speech during our ceremony with few options of what to do without ruining my wedding day. I sucked it up of course. It's not the end of the world. There are more important things to stress over in life.
~We never got a group photo! The photographer had great ideas for us alone, but didn't say, "ok, grooms family, brides. Just parents, siblings, now everyone" etc. So be sure that you're on it.
~I also wanted to walk down the aisle with my dad without the groom seeing me beforehand. This was a little more of a task in an outdoor wedding. So I basically hid behind a tree not knowing when to come out.
I WOULD do it again though!

My husband I planned a destination wedding. Our communication through emails and phone with Jessica and Marcia was good. I like the packages offered and the various options to choose ala carte.
We flew in Wednesday night. We planned to get married that following Saturday. We first met the day before our wedding to look at potential wedding sites. Marcia only had 1 site in mind to show us. Granted it was beautiful but I wanted to see more locations. She did show us a 2nd site but I felt like it was a push to even look at more.
I thought it was odd that you don't do a run through the day before the wedding. You just meet and go through the whole process the day of. My husband was given a boutonniere and I was given a bouquet. It was a beautiful surprise to how it would turn out. We did the ala carte for a guitarist. Honestly, I couldn't have told you what he played because of nerves but I know whatever he did was beautiful and tied into the moment. We didn't taste the cake until we fed one another. If you are a type A planner who needs to know every little detail, this may not be for you. We knew no details prior. You can choose how your bouquet and how your cake will look like but it's a lot of extra money going through external vendors.
Everything was easy breezy. You work up anxiety thinking about all the details on how everyhing will look like and run step by step. Honestly, there is no need to. Marcia guided the whole event and it ended up just being magical. There's no horrible location...nature is a beautiful backdrop.
Suggestions for Bali Hai is to offer arches to use on the beach to get married under and parasols for guests when it's hot outside and there's no shade. -

We were so Lucky it did not rain on our Wedding date, I just got a little nervous as out wedding arrangement was schedule for 3pm and I had my hair and makeup person come in at 11:30am I then understood that the pastor was due to arrive earlier, I did get tense that I would not be ready on time, also the photographer arrived a few minutes before wedding...Other than the above comment all turned out beautiful and how I wanted my wedding to be....Thank you all very much!!! -

Our wedding was held on 12/12/12 and coordinated through Bali Hai. Jessica was fantastic from the first time I called and spoke with her months before the wedding. She was always polite, friendly and prompt to return emails and/or phone calls. Veronica was who helped us on the actual day of the ceremony and she too was very curteous and helpful. The day was a rainy in the morning and we were concerned about having the ceremony on the beach but Jessica reassured us that it would all be fine. It was. We had a beautiful, sunny day, except for a few sprinkles that lasted about two minutes. Our only complaint was with the final photo product. The photographer was a sweet, young gal- no complaints about her personality. The problem was that the quality of the photos was amateur. We were expecting really impressive photos, not necessarily from photoshopping but from an experienced photographer who knew how to take an angle, position people in the most flattering way, etc. The photos on this website are beautiful and they look very professionally done. I don't feel that ours were nearly as nice as the photos used as examples on this site. Jessica, once again was completely professional and understood when I emailed her about this situation. She tried her best to remedy it but ultimately we would have to go back to Kauai and redo the photos for us to be 100% satisfied with the quality. I would definately recommend Bali Hai's service but I hope they improve on the photo quality in the future. -

Both Jessica and Marcia were as nice as could be. On the positive side, Jessica was very responsive to emails, questions and guidance, the photographer Nora was incredible and we absolutely love our photos, and Marcia was on time, on track and very personable for our meeting a few days before and also on the day of our wedding.
On the opposite side, no approval from management had been obtained to have the wedding by the pool, the flowers of the bouquet and lei appeared to be several days old, a request to add a sprig of white flowers to the bouquet 48 hours in advance was not taken into consideration, the dinner reservation at CJ's Steak and Seafood restaurant was made for the wrong night, and the initial deposit had not been applied to our account until brought to their attention. -

Prior to the wedding communication with Marcia was very easy and she was very flexible and willing to work with me within my budget. The day of the wedding, the vendors were a bit disorganized and seemed rather harried when they arrived. The photographer and videographer turned out to be great, though, and spent alot of time with us posing shots and taking some really nice candid photo and video.The caterer/musician, although a very nice, likable guy, was completely unprofessional and really seemed like he'd been toking up a bit too much. He came through in the end with great food and a nice reception, but he called us no more than a few hours before the ceremony saying he felt sick and probably couldn't do the wedding OR the reception. AND he had no back-up plan! I was furious that he would pull this at the last minute and was freaking out about my reception. I had to call Marcia (who was off-island) and after she apparently had a "talk" with him, he magically felt better and everything went according to plan. I don't know what I would I would have done if he hadn't changed his mind. So, yeah, besides that glitch, I would definitely recommend Marcia and Bali Hai Weddings. -

Jessica was great in responding to emails and questions I had. The week before the wedding I talked with Marcia about all of the details of the ceremony. She mentioned wanting to meet the day before the wedding to look at the ceremony location and go over the details. She is located on the north shore and the ceremony site is on the south shore. She asked if we possibly wanted to meet her on the north shore because gas was so expensive and she didn't want to spend that much on gas. Evidently she had no problem with us spending that much on gas in suggesting we drive to the north shore. My fiance' and I were getting our wedding license in Kauai and didn't know the name of the Pastor officiating. We left messages at the office as well as on Marcia's voicemail and didn't ever receive a call back. Marcia was an hour late to the ceremony from the time she told me she would be there. 5pm ceremony time and she arrived about 5:10, but told me she would be there at 4pm. The kicker was she never called - I had to call her while sitting in a car hiding from the groom at 4:50pm to find out where she was. She said traffic was really bad and she would be there soon. We had the wedding party and guests milling around the beach area not knowing what to do. She also was supposed to provide Ipod dock speakers. She brought an Ipod nano and said she didn't know what she was buying. It was really unprofessional. We wouldn't even need music, but it was very important to me to play a song that reminded me of my dad who had passed. She has never offered to refund the rental fee for the Ipod dock. Overall, the planning leading up to the wedding was fine with Jessica over the phone. She was very helpful, but the experience with Marcia was awful. We would not use them again because of that. -
