  Amazing, amazing!

  I am someone who is not normally comfortable in front of the camera, but Katherine helped me and my fiancé feel so comfortable during both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. Katherine not only takes gorgeous photos but is also a pro at working with all types of people (including little kids!) to get the best shots possible. She sent us some preview shots within a couple days of the wedding which was amazing and we're so excited to see the rest. Katherine is the best and we would definitely recommend her!

  We love katherine

  Of all our wedding vendors, I am most excited to review Katherine! She did a PHENOMENAL job on our engagement photos and we received wonderful previews of our wedding photos. She also photographed our rehearsal dinner. I know I don’t need to wait for the rest of the photos to come back to ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend her services because she was such a joy to work with and takes beautiful photos. Our family and friends remarked on how wonderful she was to work with taking photos on our big day. She makes the process fun and painless. You will absolutely not be sorry if you hire her!!
  
  As a note — these photos were just screenshots from the gallery on my phone and cropped the gallery out, so are not an accurate reflection of the quality of the photos. Katherine’s photos are high res and great quality!

  Cannot recommend enough!!

  I saw one of Katherine's photos on instagram that was outside of the Duke chapel (where my husband and were going to be married) and knew I wanted to meet with her. We didn't event consider another option after meeting with Katherine and I remember the "this is definitely the one" look my then fiance gave me during our meeting! Katherine is so sweet and professional and we loved spending time with her during our engagement shoot but what I admired most was how much preparation she did prior to the wedding. On the wedding day she knew EVERY name of our bridal party and family members and knew exactly the photos we wanted. She is direct and to the point while also being so sweet and easy going which is so important on the day of because every second counts!! We cannot recommend Katherine (and Faye!) enough as they captured our day PERFECTLY and were a dream to work with.

  Just Perfect

  I wish I could put into words how perfect our experience with Katherine was. The first day my mom and I met her, I felt like I had known her for years. She made everyone in our wedding party feel so comfortable. From the booking process, to my bridal portraits, to the day of the wedding, to getting our final wedding album.. everything was exactly what we wanted. Our pictures were stunning and captured the magic of our day. Everyone says your wedding goes by so fast, but I did't realize how true that really was. Luckily, Katherine and her assistant photographer were able to capture every single detail that I never want to forget. Looking at my wedding album was a back and forth wave of uncontrollable laughter, and ugly tears. I would not have chosen any other person to capture our day. Truly the best.

  From the moment we met Katherine, we knew she was the perfect one to capture our wedding day. I had been swooning over the glowy, romantic, light-filled images on her website for a while, but meeting Katherine in person officially sealed the deal for me and my husband – she is warm, funny, kind, thoughtful, and is clearly passionate about what she does. It was really important to us that we felt completely comfortable with our photographer – after all, we would be spending a lot of time with them on one of the most important days of our lives. We felt an instant connection with Katherine and spent hours chatting. Throughout the entire process, from that first meeting to the day we received our gorgeous wedding photos, Katherine truly went above and beyond to ensure we were happy, even offering help with other areas of the wedding planning process (from vendor recommendations to planning out the timeline) so that our day would be as smooth and stress-free as possible.
  
  During both our engagement session and on our wedding day, Katherine was so personable and professional. She made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera, and gave us just the right amount of direction so that our photos came out looking natural (not to mention beautiful) rather than too posed. She was always open to our suggestions but had no shortage of amazing ideas to offer when needed – each photo absolutely reflects who we are as a couple and captures every special moment and detail from the day. Thanks to Katherine, we have hundreds and hundreds of stunning photos to remember our wedding by, and we are so glad that we found her.

  KMJ was everything we were looking for in a photographer. The fact that she has a second shooter is beyond incredible. I'm pretty sure having two photographers the day of the wedding helped to seal the deal for my wife.
  
  We had a mini session with Katherine at the Museum of Art before our wedding and it was the best thing we could have done for ourselves. This experience allowed us to get comfortable with Katherine.
  
  The day of the wedding was beyond perfect. We felt like we could be ourselves with Katherine and Fay. Katherine was wonderful working with our family and friends. It was a very busy day and Katherine and Fay were able to get all the images we wanted.
  
  We are thrilled with the images that KMJ Photography captured at our Wedding.

  Katherine shot our wedding a couple of weeks ago (October) and was absolutely wonderful! We met with her for coffee after reading reviews on Wedding Wire and looking through her portfolio online. She is fun, easy-going, kind, responsive and professional. Our wedding day ended up being in the middle of a hurricane in NC and Katherine was incredibly reassuring and got right out in the rain to get some great pictures. I cannot recommend her enough!

  I worked with Katherine in NYC in editorial many years ago -- I'd write stories and interview subjects and she would do the photography and editing. After working with her, I knew I could have no one else photograph my wedding day.
  
  My husband who doesn't usually have a lot of opinions about aesthetics has said Katherine's photographs look like a beautiful dream and I couldn't agree more -- the way she works with natural light and anticipates how real life will translate to photographs is truly a gift!
  
  She was super helpful leading up to the wedding keeping me organized and focused with a document I filled out and a phone call closer to the event. She asked all the important questions and made great suggestions that only an old pro would know. I also think for the level of service and talent, Katherine is an amazing value.
  
  I was super insistent that my husband and I didn't want to miss cocktail hour for photos even though it meant squeezing in a lot of pictures before the ceremony. We were running a few minutes behind with hair and makeup and Katherine didn't stress, totally accommodated the ask and made it work. I never once had to stress on my wedding day because I knew I was in good hands with Katherine and her fabulous assistant, Fay.
  
  She was also incredible with all our guests and bridal party -- particularly our 2-year-old flower girl and ring bearer who were a bit cranky about taking pictures. She made them giggle and laugh so she could capture great shots. She also had wonderful "visions" in real time and posed us accordingly.
  
  I've seen a few of the pictures and they totally took my breath away -- can't wait to see the rest! Highly recommend Katherine to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

  Katherine is perfect! She is sweet and wonderful with absolutely infectious enthusiasm, as well as highly organized and professional. Whenever I flew into town for a frantic weekend of wedding planning, she was always available, flexible, and she worked around my crazy schedule by emailing her concise preferences form months in advance. When she walked into the getting ready room on the Big Day, I ran out of the makeup chair to give her a big hug because I was so excited! She was SO good at getting people to relax and smile, she captured amazing candid (read: silly!) photographs, and she made everyone feel calm and happy and comfortable with the pictures. Finally, when we got the pictures, I was absolutely stunned: they were beautiful, and there were so many!! I would recommend Katherine to anyone in a heartbeat!!

  Katherine is an amazing photographer, and SO nice! She shot our engagement photos and our wedding day. She was so sweet, I felt like I was with an old friend! All the guests were commenting on how awesome she was as well! Her photos are gorgeous and really tell a story! Not just typical poses - artistic and creative! I also feel like she has a very affordable price point for her level of talent! A really amazing value! I would recommend anybody to use Katherine Miles Jones Photography, and I'll definitely use her again if I ever need some sort of photoshoot!

  In our search for our wedding photographer, it took months to sort through the many options available in the Raleigh-Durham area. For us, it was made more challenging because we had a “sense” of what we wanted style-wise, but couldn’t quite put it into words. In the end, we decided on the very person that we actually personally knew: Katherine Miles Jones. Katherine has an eye that truly knows how to work with natural light – an element to her work that we initially were drawn to, but couldn’t put our finger on. We ended up using Katherine for our engagement photos, bridal portraits, and wedding. Katherine, with her assistant Faye, was thrown a solid challenge on our wedding day with a completely grey, wet and dreary day. Despite the lack of available lighting, Katherine was able to seamlessly tap into the daylight offered to us and truly make our photos “pop.” Her style is not too modern (i.e. too crisp, clean lines) or standard (i.e. soft, uninspired), but a very natural blend which comes to a classy and storied look. She also has a great eye for the space/environment around her, and often creates shots on the fly (assuming you are flexible and open-minded enough to work with her in those moments). In addition to that, she sports an incredibly positive attitude. If things aren’t “going right” in a particular moment, she shrugs it off, adjusts as needed, and does an incredible job of guiding you along the way. This came into play big time while some in the bridal party were a bit unruly during their portion of the shots. She knows when and how to be firm, but does it all with a great attitude and a smile on her face. Katherine and Faye were a pleasure to work with, and we could not recommend their services highly enough. There are lots of options out there for photographers, but we felt too many had the same look and feel to them, and just didn’t have any inspiration to them.
