  Working with James was one of the best choices we made when planning our wedding. His work is amazing and we could not be happier with the finished film. He is talented, kind, responsive, helpful, and just as his website advertises...a total wedding ninja. We barely noticed his presence all day and yet he still managed to capture all of the special moments and put them together in a way that would make a stranger cry about the power of love. We had our video in less than 2 months following our wedding, which is an insanely fast turn around for this type of project, and the quality is unbelievable. If I ever come across another event in life that it is socially acceptable to hire a videographer to document...James will be my guy!

  The best decision we made during wedding planning was selecting James Knightly Films to capture our wedding day. His attention to detail and willingness to get to know his clients is unmatched. James went above and beyond to see what moments we most wanted on film and our overall vision for the day. Seeing our highlight video brought us to tears as we were truly able to look back on such a special day in our lives. For years to come, my husband and I will be able to relive the wedding with our family and future family members.

  I can’t say enough good things about James Knightly Films! From the initial phone conversation that we had with James to the finished product of our video, James and his wife Laura were an absolute pleasure to work with. We looked long and hard for an awesome videographer that would be able to capture the special moments of our day but do so in a contemporary and modern fashion (rather than the old-fashioned cookie-cutter videos!)
  
  Our wedding was on a Saturday evening in November at Atrium at the Curtis Center in Center City, Philadelphia. During the wedding, James and Laura blended into the background and went totally unnoticed while still capturing every part of our wedding. They are extremely kind, professional, courteous, and they worked extremely well with our photographers (which is a huge factor when picking a videographer!!!)
  
  We are starting to receive our finished products, and we are blown away by our trailer video, as well as our highlight film! We’ve watched both hundreds of times, and we can’t wait to share both with our friends. We even asked for a minor edit in our highlight film (a few clips that we wanted in there), and James did it without any problems or hesitations, and he did it in no time!
  
  If you are contemplating your videographer choice, RUN – don’t walk – to James Knightly Films! They come highly recommended!

  James was wonderful to work with for our wedding on 10.18.14! I interviewed three videographers and from the get-go had a great vibe from James, plus I though he was priced very competitively given the quality of his films. In the months leading up to the wedding, he was prompt in responding to emails and flexible about switching our times around when we got closer to the day and our timeline evolved. On the wedding day, he and his second shooter did a great job managing our huge wedding party and getting the shots that perfectly captured our day --- I was blown away when I saw the final product. I can't recommend James more highly to future brides!

  James was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very professional and worked very well with my other vendors (especially my photographer!) I just received the final project. The video of my wedding captures all the excitement and emotions that made up such a beautiful day! James is a true artist and was a huge part of making this wonderful day so spectacular!!

  James and Laura shot our wedding this past weekend and were absolutely wonderful. Throughout the entirety of the 12-hour day, they not only remained professional but also were so much fun to work with. They worked seamlessly with our photographers, as if they had been working together for years! They provided great direction during the bridal party photos and also managed to blend into the background during our reception. Despite their continued presence on the dance floor, many of our guests had no idea there was even a videographer there.
  
  We cannot wait to see what James and Laura put together for us, and would highly recommend their services to anyone who is looking for an authentic and special film to capture their big day. They really were an absolute pleasure to work with.

  After our trailer was released, I had so many people asking where we had found a videographer with such a natural eye for the camera. In fact, my friend already wants to hire James for her wedding next year! (One word of advice: act early—he books up fast!)
  
  In all honesty, I feel like so many videographers try to be too flashy when it comes to their work—making you re-enact certain moments to catch them with a certain angle, or loading their films with heavy filters to improve lighting and increase their appeal to viewers. Unlike most videographers, James had one focus at our wedding--to do his job, and to do it well.   If I could give more than 5 stars I would give him 100 in a heartbeat! I have worked in the bridal industry for 10 years. I have watched the cheesy cookie cutter videographers pass me by at countless other weddings. Not only is James Knightly a talented videographer but he is an artist! He loves what he does and it is so evident in his work. I met him while working a wedding about a year before my own. Immediately I noticed his professionalism, his calm, easy-going nature, and his ability to stay behind the scenes! I couldn't wait to get home and watch some of his videos. I already knew that I liked him a lot (and you do spend a lot of time with your videographer so you better hope he's cool to hang out with!). So I went home and watched all of his videos. Ok if videos of perfect strangers can make me cry I knew this guy was talented. I love that he captures the little moments, the things you miss on your own wedding day that you can now cherish forever. His style is absolutely amazing and we have gotten countless compliments and notes of jealousy from our friends and family who all wish they had hired him!! Don't have that regret, you have GOT to hire him. My husband wasn't sure we needed a video, hey weddings are expensive and its hard to fit everything into the budget. I can tell you that having this video and all the raw footage is priceless. I love that I can go back and HEAR our vows again, watch my grandmother dance again, and see me smear a bit of icing on my husband's face again :). I hope you find this review helpful because I know when I was planning I would pour over these reviews. James is such a kind person and well deserving of his success. Hire him he's just amazing!!

  James and Laura were an absolute pleasure to work with. James truly takes the time to get to know the couples he works with to figure out how to capture the little things that make such big moments. Not only are these two amazing at what they do, but they have fun doing it. If you have read James's bio on his website, he has been described as a camera-wielding-ninja. It's true. He is stealthy and you hardly notice his presence, but DAMN! When you see your wedding video, you're going to wonder how you didn't take more notice of James. What he captures is perfect. I can honestly say that a smile was plastered on my face the entire time I watched my 3 minute trailer, my 12 minute highlight film and even the clips of 10 hours worth of coverage. From the moment we reached out to James, we were dealt with in the most professional and courteous manner, which is a breath of fresh air in such a competitive industry. We both felt that we wanted to combine a conversational element into our video, so we could capture each moment in the realest sense. If you look at James’s work you will immediately see that he is an artist and a master of capturing people as they really are. He customized a package for our budget and our needs. On the day of our wedding, James and his wife were absolutely in the zone. First off, they are the sweetest, warmest people you will ever meet. They were full of smiles and oozed tranquility, which we both needed that day. They captured EVERY moment perfectly and we barely even noticed that James was there. He was like a focused whisper. He worked with our photographer like they were a well oiled machine and they had just met that afternoon. When we got our video back we were breathless. It was a work of art. A masterpiece. He captured the mood, the esthetic,and our personalities perfectly. I swear we watched the video 150 times the first week. The way James weaved music, conversation, and beautiful camera work still amazes us. Two weeks after our highlight video was delivered to us, we received a package in the mail from James. He sent a full hard-drive with uncut footage, and several personalized professional DVD’s for our archive. We are still finding hilarious and heart warning clips from our raw cut footage. If James is available for your wedding date BOOK HIM NOW. It will be the best decision you make with respect to your wedding day. James was amazing on the day of our wedding - very easy to work with and integrated seamlessly into our day with our photographer, wedding party, and all the other various vendors. Most of our guests didn’t even know that we had a videographer until they saw the trailer and we almost forgot he was there most of the time, too! The final product was just perfect. It was more than we could have ever hoped for and everyone who sees it RAVES about how wonderfully it was put together (in addition to admitting that it brought them to tears)! We’ve watched the trailer and highlights film countless times since we got them and have a big smile on our faces each and every time.

  We were absolutely thrilled with James Knightly throughout the wedding planning process, wedding day and video that we received after.   We could not be more satisfied with everything. We will be hard pressed to find any single thing other than your work that will be the most cherished and most revisited item from our wedding. We plan on shackling everyone we know to a couch to make them watch this repeatedly with us (like a 3 year old wanting to always watch the same damn movie to the point of exhaustion...).
  
  If anyone was considering a videographer for their wedding, and is unsure if it was worth it, I urge you to spend 10 minutes talking with James. Throughout the entire process he was no less than wonderful.
  
  Our wedding has quite detail oriented and we were quite specific with our photographer, DJ, florist and reception site staff, however, having James as our videographer was great...we felt so comfortable with him that we gave him full creativity to do as he pleased, everything turned out perfect.

  James and Laura did a very great job on the videos. The videos are all high resolution and the price is great for the quality and the service that they offer! ..I mean it..it's great! They did a great job on putting our wedding trailer together. They capture all the important moment of the wedding. Very flexible to your request and they were blending well in the background. Both of them were not in the way for our ceremony and reception. Overall, it was great experience having our wedding captured by James and Laura! Thank you very much you guys were awesome!

  I cannot recommend James enough- he was super easy to work with during the planning process. During the wedding day he and his assistant camera person were totally unobtrusive- most of the time I didn't even realize they were there. No giant video camera with a bright light blinding you as in days of old.

I work in the television industry, and even I was so impressed with the production value. If you're only used to seeing cheesy wedding videos, you will be blown away by James's work. It made me and my husband cry, and all of our friends and family were so impressed by how awesome it was. The most common response was "I didn't even know you could get something like this from a wedding." Look on James's Vimeo site for Ashley + Dan's trailer to see for yourself! It's also wonderful to have the full ceremony, but the trailer is such a perfect snapshot of the day.

After having a conversation with him, we decided to hire him and it was one of the best decisions we made. On the wedding day James was on time and was never in the way.
