10/10 Wedding Weekend!

Our wedding weekend was absolutely perfect and far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, the service was flawless. The staff took care of every detail with such warmth and professionalism, making us feel so well cared for the entire time. Our guests were in absolute awe of the team - the level of attentiveness and hospitality left everyone raving. Between the incredible food, the seamless service, and the beautiful setting, we truly couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding.

Highly Recommend!

We booked our wedding reception in the Renaissance Room at the InterContinental and it was an amazing experience. Shay Gordon helped coordinate our event and she was so helpful, supportive, kind, informative and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth process for us and a wonderful wedding day.

My husband, family and I are continuously reminiscing on how amazing their whole team was and how gorgeous the space was. From start to finish they made everything so enjoyable and we truly had the best day of our lives.

On the wedding day, the service was phenomenal. Having our reception at the InterContinental was the best decision we made. From set up, to the dinner service, open bar, clean up, hotel service, and beyond - everything was 5 star.

Everyone on the team at the Intercontinental was an absolute joy to work with – huge thank you to Tara, Kelley, Emily, Heather, and Andrew in particular, who were instrumental in planning a wonderful event for us! Sexy Chic Intercontinental Reception

Having our wedding reception at The Intercontinental Chicago was an absolute dream! From start to finish, working with Tara and her team was flawless. From walk through's to menu tastings to the many questions/requests a bride has, Tara’s attentiveness, dedication, and passion for her industry never faltered as she went above and beyond! Our guests had only positive things to say about their rooms in our wedding block and the dreamy Penthouse Bridal Suite is STILL being talked about by my entire bridal party. Our reception couldn’t have gone any smoother or been more jaw-droppingly beautiful. The Renaissance Ballroom and Tara will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Our Dream Come True!

I had an unbelievably positive experience with the InterContinental - I highly recommend! I could go on & on about every great detail! I worked with Tara throughout the entire planning process (~10 months), and Kristen was our banquet manager during the night of the reception. First off, the location is absolutely gorgeous, so no need to bring in lots of rentals, decor, etc. - I was in the Renaissance Room, which speaks for itself and is versatile enough to naturally adapt to intimate or large weddings alike. The hotel itself was a convenient location for guests, but most importantly, since guests were staying in the same hotel as our reception, comfortable shoes, a couple minutes of rest, medications, the baby sitter, etc., were just an elevator ride away from the party. The food was out of this world, rest assured! (Thanks, Chef!)

Tara was the incredible captain of my wedding vendor team. She [generously and patiently] answered my many questions, had a lot of experience and gave me context on what is typical/works best, and brought my vendors on the same page, since many had worked together before. My wedding day was absolutely perfect - no vendor hiccups/people running around late-lost-confused/drama because people are too tired & overreached - none of that! Being at the InterCon was probably the #1 factor in how seamless the day went because of their incredible service/staff & expertise. (#2 factor being the excellence of the other vendors, & #3 being my own quirky penchant for detailed planning + a dose of luck.) The evening of, Kristen kept everything running so smoothly - she was such a warm person that she might as well have fit right in as one of our honored guests! She had the perfect amount of communication that kept us on track so that the service staff and vendors could deliver a first-rate experience to our friends & family. 10/10 would do it all again at the InterCon, & I recommend it to anyone seeking a downtown Chicago venue!

Amazing and magical

We looked at probably 9 different venues in 7 days both in the suburbs and downtown Chicago. This was too much. The moment we walked into the InterContinental, I knew something was special about this venue. As we checked in with the concierge to meet our tour guide for the day, the bellmen were telling us how beautiful weddings are at this venue and how everyone has such an amazing time and is happy having their weddings there! This was a good sign. Then, it was time for us to meet the catering sales manager who showed us around the venue. From the moment I met Tara Hubbard, I knew I not only wanted to work with her, but I wanted to be her friend! She was so kind and generous with us and helped us finalize every single detail for our wedding in the Grand Ballroom. During wedding weekend, everything the InterContinental did to help us was perfect!!! The suite we stayed in was INCREDIBLE, the staff was AMAZING and we took the most amazing pictures here. You cannot go wrong with choosing this venue!!

First class all the way.

Elegant, glamorous and professional in every way. Tara made us feel like we were the most important wedding. She was patient, she listened and followed through on every request. The food at the Intercon is the best wedding food in the city. Their chefs are famous. The venue itself is magic. This is the place to have a dream wedding and Tara will make sure it happens for you. I want to do it all again.

The ULTIMATE City Wedding Experience

We booked InterContinental Hotel as our wedding ceremony and reception venue for a few reasons: convenient location for our out of town guests, the architectural features of the hotel itself, and the amazing value they offer with their wedding packages. We also loved the privacy the hotel offered our event. Upon doing the walk thru, they explained that our event will have access to the whole floor depending on what ballroom we choose. This prevents any strangers from walking into our event uninvited. My husband is a chef and so our guests had high expectations with what we are serving for our wedding, and most importantly, the quality and execution of the meals. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly, just as good as it was in the tasting. We were both extremely pleased with their food consistency. I was also very observant of the rest of the staff and they took great care of our guests the whole night. Above all, the service captain was so attentive and helpful, anticipating almost every need we had along the night. We were told that their staff have all been working for the hotel for at least 5 years, some even 15 years!! Therefore, they are very knowledgeable of their weddings and events while remaining passionate with the work they do. Finally, the catering manager was so patient and personable. She made it easy for us to choose the hotel as she highlighted all the details that the hotel had to offer to couples like us. It was convenient to communicate with her and always responded to my emails or voicemails at a timely manner. I highly recommend the InterContinental Hotel Chicago to other couples looking for a city wedding. They will impress you and your guests above your expectations!

Intercontinental Chicago! The know how to throw one heck of a wedding!!

My daughter recently got married at the Intercontinental on Michigan Ave. in Chicago. Is was the most beautiful wedding ever and the staff at the Intercontinental helped make that possible. Chris Schmidt was absolutely the best to work with. He took us in like we were family. It was the first place we looked at and nothing else could even come close. Melissa Chavez helped with the booking of all the rooms and making our stay as comfortable as ever. The wedding was three weeks ago and I still have calls coming in from friends and family saying it was the best wedding ever. I have three more kids getting married. If I have anything to say about it, they will be at the Intercontinental.

Stunning venue

This is the MOST GORGEOUS PLACE in all of Chicago to have a wedding. Daughter was married Jan. 2019 with the reception held in the Renaissance Room. EVERYTHING from room decor, service, food, hor d’ oeuvres etc. was literally TOP NOTCH!! If you want the BEST OF EVERYTHING you must hold your wedding here. It is expensive but worth EVERY PENNY....... Chris Schmidt is the ‘go to guy’ to work with. He had everything under control. Very organized and professional.
My husband and I have been to a countless number of weddings over the last 40 years from outdoor, traditional and country club settings. This place surpasses ALL BY FAR in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY!! The 5 stars is strictly for the venue itself.
My only two complaints are that my daughter and new husband should have been given a fresh clean bridal suite after all the festivities were over. Instead they were to use the same suite that the bridesmaids, hair designer, makeup people etc. used to get ready in all morning. Was kind of a mess as coats, gloves etc were left behind by bridal party causing unnecessary interruptions to what should have been the couples alone time. Also, we had plenty of ‘overnighters’ staying at the hotel for one or two nights and my husband and I were extremely disappointed with front desk service, and the connoisseur woman. All were very rude and not helpful in any way. This hotel is very confusing enough to get around in with different sets of elevators to get you to the building with your room number, which is never explained, causing many guests frustration. Unfortunately there were many other issues, which I wont get into, that should not have added any irritability to an otherwise perfect day and event. Zero stars for hotel front personnel.

great experience

After looking at a number of different hotel ballrooms downtown we settled on the InterContinental for a variety of reasons. We worked closely with Tara Hubbard who was incredibly professional. She was responsive, friendly, and wanted to help us to turn some loose ideas into a magnificent event. Over the course of 10 months Tara provided us with constant insight and feedback and she was always truthful with her suggestions. Beyond Tara, the staff throughout the entire hotel was incredibly accommodating. The food was incredible -- and we had a few particular requests -- the service was attentive and always on time, and everyone throughout the hotel went out of their way to make sure we had the best weekend. Outside of the ballroom itself there are so many incredible spaces throughout the hotel for pictures, for your guests to enjoy throughout their stay, or for other events throughout your wedding weekend. Furthermore, the location of the hotel cannot be beat -- if you have out of town guests they will love being on Michigan Avenue, and you and your bridal party will be able to walk just a few minutes to include great Chicago landmarks in your photos.

Awesome experience

The entire staff at the intercontinental was amazing! Tara Hubbard made the planning of my daughters wedding both professional and FUN! Her attention to detail was unsurpassed. The food and service far exceeded our expectations.

My wife and I searched several venues for our wedding in Chicago and are so happy we found the perfect one at the Intercontinenal Hotel. Our wedding exceeded all our expectations. First and foremost, we need to thank the event coordinator Chris Schmidt. He promptly responded to the nearly 100 e-mails we sent him, as my wife were indecisive in picking a wedding day/ballroom/menu, etc. Despite our indecisiveness, he was always friendly and professional. He made our food tasting a fun experience and offered many helpful tips (like to serve the lobster bisque!) so we could personalize a delicious dinner menu. The food and service are incredible! The lollipop lamb chops and mini beef wellingtons were a hit with everyone. The filet mignon was seasoned and cooked perfectly to the quality of a Chicago steakhouse, not the generic bland piece of beef one usually gets at a banquet. We had our ceremony and reception in the King Arthur ballroom. The room has such beautiful woodwork and decoration and a magnificent stained glass window in front that we needed to do minimal decoration. The hotel has an elegant, historic vibe but has also been tastefully modernized so all our guests loved the stay. The location cannot be beat, as we just needed to walk across the street to take photos along the Chicago river. A final added perk is that the wedding packages include a cake from Cake in Chicago, which hands down made the best tasting cake we’ve ever had. The all-inclusive wedding package takes away a lot of the stress of planning and is really an amazing value. A big thanks to Chris and all the other staff at Intercontinental for making our wedding even better than we could dream it to be.

Having our wedding at Intercontinental was absolutely AMAZING! We worked with Chris from the very beginning and we could not have been happier. He was great to work with. He was always very quick to respond to all of my emails and was very accommodating and made sure all of my requests were fulfilled. I am so happy we got to work with him because he made everything 100x better! He made sure all of our needs were met and that everything ran smoothly. I would absolutely recommend the Intercontinental to someone looking for a wedding venue. Everyone I worked with was absolutely amazing!

We recently hosted our daughter's wedding reception at the InterContinental Chicago and had a wonderful evening from beginning to end. We enjoyed working with the staff at the hotel and they made the whole experience easy and fun. Our room was beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. Our guests gave us many compliments throughout the evening. I would highly recommend the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile as a beautiful spot to have a lovely wedding reception.

Our wedding ceremony and reception were both in the Renaissance Room at the InterContinental Chicago this past April - and it was amazing!! The venue is absolutely beautiful, the food was top notch, and the IC team is wonderful!

During our venue search, we knew the IC was the one for us as soon as we stepped into the Renaissance Room. Beautiful wood beams, chandeliers, character, and history created this warm feeling that was fit for a wedding. Most of the other hotel ballrooms we visited felt sterile or business-y, whereas this one felt so special and meaningful. We were in love!

From there, we quickly learned that Tara was an absolute joy to work with. She took the time to get to know us, was always quick & thorough to reply to my (many) email questions throughout the entire planning process, and went above & beyond when it came to our tasting, menu selection, last minute details & changes, and final walk-through. On the wedding weekend itself, Tara was present throughout - from the rehearsal, to helping with our rooms, to the wedding day & evening. She was an incredible partner with our wedding coordinator and vendors, and we were always so reassured knowing that Tara was on our team.

Next, the food! You always hear about "typical hotel banquet food" but the IC was nothing like that. Everything at the tasting was so delicious that we could barely choose! The presentation was so professional, too. Our guests were raving about the food during the night, and I still have friends telling me how good it was and how FULL they were!

As for the hotel itself, it really can't be beat! Located in the heart of it all right on Michigan Avenue, it was perfect for our out-of-town guests to get a feel for the city. The hotel is beautiful inside with tons of great spots for photos, MJ's bar downstairs for late night party, etc.

I cannot say enough positive things about the InterContinental and the service provided to us. They made our wedding a dream come true! Tara Hubbard made what easily could’ve been a stressful process easy from the start. She was detail oriented, professional, always responded timely to our inquiries, and fun to work with. She listened to our vision and perfected making it a reality. Her experience in the wedding industry was extremely helpful as she provided us with a lot of insight and suggestions. Our other vendors went out of their way to comment on how much they enjoyed working with her as well. Our entire family was very impressed with the service they received from the InterContinental and how beautiful the venue was. I honestly could not have been happier with the InterContinental and would highly recommend hosting a wedding there.

The InterContinental is the perfect place to have a wedding. The venue is so so beautiful, and there are so many lovely places to take photos, inside and nearby the hotel. The staff is exquisite. We had the wedding of our dreams in the Renaissance Ballroom at the Intercontinental Mag Mile on July 1, 2017! After visiting many venues in the city and suburbs, the Intercontinental was the only one that checked all of our boxes and offered a strong value for the cost. The staff simply won us over with their professionalism and approachability. Searching and vetting venues was one of the biggest wedding planning tasks, but once we found the Intercontinental, it was smooth sailing. Chris and his team are so well organized, that you can basically go on auto-pilot and let them guide you through every step along the way. Chris was flexible in making some of our special requests a reality and every single detail was executed flawlessly. Our guests described our reception as "magical" and we received SO many compliments on how kind and helpful all of the staff at the hotel were. From the bell men to the front desk and wedding service staff, everyone was on point and worked seamlessly with all of our wedding vendors. We are so happy we found the Intercontinental and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quintissential Chicago wedding venue!

If wedding wire allowed for 6 stars out of 5 I would give it to Chris Schmidt and his incredible team. The venue, the food , the service everything was impeccable. From check in to check out, in my bridal gown or in my pajamas running through the lobby our family and guests were treated like royalty. I can't recommend this place enough if you want a fairy tale wedding that will take your guest's breath away just by entering the ballrooms. Thank you Chris and team for making our wedding the most special day of our lives!

We had an amazing wedding at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, with superb attention to detail in every aspect! All our guests told us that the organization, meals, drinks, environment and service were top notch and perfectly executed. Best venue and staff. The attention to detail and just the attention is unprecedented. Had a major wedding with my oldest daughter 10 years ago with another venue in Chicago of a high quality which was commensurate with the expectations. The staff and venue at IHG was excessive beyond expectation.

Beautiful venue and Steve in catering was a pleasure to work. All of the hotel personnel went out of their way to make our wedding a success. It is very rare to go to an event where people rave about the food, but the food at our event was wonderful.

This venue and the person that we worked with, Chris Schmidt, was outstanding! The InterContinental helped to create my dream wedding! Everyone person we worked with from the coordinator to the bellhop, was responsive, friendly, and professional! The Renaissance Room at the Intercontinental was the absolute perfect location for our wedding reception! Countless guests commented on how our wedding was one of the best they've ever attended - that's all thanks to Chris Schmidt and his fantastic team. Everyone at the Intercontinental - from the Catering department to Tara who handled our room bookings to the bellmen - could not have done a better, classier job handling our every need and making us feel so welcome, respected and prioritized. Chris was quick to respond to any and all questions throughout our wedding planning process, provided honest suggestions and advice, was extremely organized and worked very well with our month-of-wedding planner. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was first-class and the room looked truly magical. The InterContinental exceeded our expectations in every way and we couldn't recommend it more!

The best experience I could have asked for. The venue, staff, and atmosphere where absolutely perfect. Fairy tale wedding to say the least. Steve, the coordinator, was fantastic. Our guests loved the food and cake, we received tons of compliments on them. No regrets whatsoever, wish I could do it all over again.

Our wedding was 4 weeks ago and we are still getting compliments from guests that it was the best reception they have ever been to. The top 3 reasons we’ve heard: the food was the best wedding dinner they’ve ever had (the beef short rib option was ridiculously good), the ballroom was gorgeous (the photo’s prove it with every angle from the balcony surrounding the room), and the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres were awesome (they were, so were the drinks!). Chris Schmidt was our contact and was absolutely amazing to work with, he helped us every step of the way. The InterContinental and their catering and serving staff exceeded all our expectations, and obviously our guest’s too. We could not imagine a better venue for a wedding reception than the InterContinental’s Grand Ballroom.

Chris and his team were absolutely incredible to work with. They helped up have the wedding of our dreams. We worked together for over a year and he was always very quick to get back to me. He was easy to work with and full suggestions or helpful advice when I needed it. The day of our wedding was beautiful! His team made the Grand Ballroom look amazing. They were ready to greet our guests 10 min before our cocktail hour started with sparkling wine and water. They were constantly floating around with appetizers and our personalized napkins. Once we entered the reception, all the guests were stunned by the beauty of the room and set-up as well. The food was divine. It was served to everyone at the same time (or pretty close to it) and we had 246 guests! Their staff is incredibly kind and accommodating and Chris made sure that my husband and I ate dinner, as this is something I was worried we wouldn't have time to do- and boy was I happy we did! The food was DELISH! Chris is a dream to work with! Look no further but the Intercon for your next event!

Hosting my wedding at the Intercontinential Magnificent Mile was an excellent choice! Working with the Director of Catering Chris S was a fabulous experience and he really helped me navigate the decisions and timeline of the wedding. I had an excellent wedding planner who worked seamlessly with Chris and his IHG staff. The venue is beautiful, classic, and excellent. The guest rooms were large and the room block was a great value for our guests as all but a few were traveling from across the US and various countries. We also received IHG points!!! My guests raved about the food and how well/smoothly the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were delivered ALL at the hotel!!!

The Intercontinental was amazing. The food was outstanding, they partner with Bittersweet bakery so our cake was beautiful and delicious, service was perfect and most important, their Director of Catering - Chris Schmidt is a total standout. He's the reason we chose the venue after talking to all of the downtown hotels. Responsive even at the quote stage, and had suggestions and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. The evening was perfect.

I cannot say enough good things about the catering manager, Chris Schmidt. Even before we met with him, he remained in contact to make sure we got in to see the space and discuss our options. Once we decided to have our wedding at the Intercontinental, Chris was there for us each step of the way; to answer questions, make suggestions and help us plan our special day. The food and service was incredible and greatly exceeded our expectations. We wouldn't have changed a thing!!!

In our search for our venue, my wife and I wanted a ballroom that didn't require a whole lot added to it in terms of flowers, up lighting, etc. The King Arthur Court Ballroom delivered just that! Our initial wedding corespondent left midway through our working with the venue, she left us in great hands with Chris Schmidt who really delivered as far as being responsive, working with our budget and being in attendance to aid us the day of.

Roughly 120 of the 140 guests we had flew into Chicago for the wedding and you really cannot beat the location on Michigan Ave, near the river, near trump tower, 3 block walk to the red line train, a 6 block walk to Millenium park one way and the Hancock Observatory the other way! The accommodations in the rooms were lovely and our parents were both upgraded to suites for their stays. While the elevator did break down on one side of the tower leaving only 1 out of 4 working, that is an issue that could not be controlled by the hotel and our guests were able to make other arrangements to get to where they needed to be in a timely fashion. Bob, the concierge, was extremely knowledgeable giving our guests information about the city and attractions/restaurants.

As for the venue itself and the way the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception all were held were absolutely perfect. The wait staff was very friendly and answered requests quickly. The set up was flawless (especially for having only 60 minutes to flip the entire room from ceremony to reception). The maitre 'd and Chris both worked with us when our dinner ran long to extend the open bar, therefore keeping us and our guests very happy. Everything ran smoothly with the exception of one of our guests dropping a glass on the dance floor; but it was quickly cleaned up by some of the waitstaff causing only a minor delay in the amazing party we were able to have there. All of our guests claimed it was the most beautiful wedding they have been to and everything was perfect!

If you are considering the Intercontinental Chicago for your wedding venue do not hesitate. If you have not, exploring the Intercontinental is a must. The location is perfect for guests, and our photography was outstanding with Michigan Ave, the river, and many options at the hotel's doorstep. Chris made sure every request was satisfied, made all the planning pleasant and fun, and provided the recommendations for other excellent vendors we relied upon. Lisette and the entire hotel staff met all our room needs at every step. Cake Chicago went beyond our expectations in both style and taste! Guests are still talking about the excellent cuisine, the royal service that evening from professional staff, and my daughter realized her dream wedding.

My husband and I chose the InterContinental Michigan Avenue for our wedding because we wanted a hotel where absolutely everything would be taken care of with first class quality. Our expectations were exceeded! The catering team was very easy to work with, proactive in helping us and accommodating to our needs. Our dog was able to be in the wedding!!!
We did NOT want a venue that looked like another hotel ballroom. The IC's historic tower was built in the 1930's, and it feels like a castle with old world decor. It also gave us lots of fabulous options for photos. Our guests were WOW-ed. Some told me it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. I wanted a breath taking wedding that would WOW guests - and I got it!! Absolutely everything was perfect. My husband and I would not change a thing.

The Intercontinental's catering and service staff did an outstanding job for our wedding. All of our guests raved about the food and service. The catering staff made planning our ceremony and reception a stress-free experience and they were flexible about customizing menus to suit our needs. The hotel is gorgeous and probably one of the most spectacular places to get married in Chicago. Our ceremony and reception were in the Renaissance Ballroom and it is one of the most beautiful ballrooms in the city.

Best wedding ever. I'm not just saying that because I'm the bride. Multiple guests commented that this was one of the best weddings they have attended. Chris Schmidt, the director of catering, was very friendly, approachable, responsive, and made sure every detail was perfect. Thomas, the banquet manager, was incredible. He stayed for our whole wedding to ensure that it ran flawlessly. Guests with dietary restrictions were not inconvenienced and the staff ensured that their dietary/medical needs were met. Not only the bride and groom, but our families, and guests were all treated like royalty from the time we stepped out of the car. The staff will work with you from the day you select the venue until the last guests leaves. They go above and beyond to ensure a perfect wedding.

We had our daughter's wedding here in July of 2014 and I cannot say enough about the gorgeous venue (Grand Ballroom), the food, the attention to detail, and the professionalism of the all of the staff. Chris Schmidt, the director of catering was such a pleasure to work with and made the entire process seamless. We had so many people comment that it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to and for that we have to give the Intercontinental a large amount of the credit!

The food was absolutely delicious, from the appetizers to the salad, main course and dessert. The InterCon sub contracted out Cake Chicago for the wedding cake. Absolutely wonderful....moist and fresh. The Grand Ballroom was magnificent! Such a beautiful room in it's own right!

Chris Schmidt, the Director of Catering, went out of his way during our 14 months of planning to make sure that everything was done to perfection. On the day of our daughter's wedding, it all came together perfectly. The hotel was warm and receptive to all of our guests who stayed there. The banquet staff flawlessly provided excellent service. The dinner was served hot to everyone; and looked and tasted as good as it did during our small "tasting session" several months prior to the wedding. I checked, and all the dinner plates were "eaten clean" when they were cleared at the end of the meal. Chris remained on-site for over 16 hours that day, and prior to leaving, made sure to ask me (the Father of the Bride), if everything was to our satisfaction. He would not leave until he was personally assured that we were 100% satisfied. If you are looking for an historic venue in a wonderful downtown Chicago location, backed by a classy staff and people who care, look no further than the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile.

The attention and the overall service we were given from the moment we viewed the InterContinental as a potential site for our wedding ceremony/reception was outstanding. Our catering coordinator, Chris Schmidt, was exceptional and ultimately plated a more valuable role than our wedding planner. He did everything he could to accommodate us and help us realize our vision for the wedding evening. If you're considering the InterContinental, just simplify matters and go with the best! Everything about the Intercontintal was amazing from the moment we chose it as a venue till we checked out when it was finished. Jaclyn, our event manager was fabulous and made our every wish come true. The room was gorgeous and the staff was unbelievable. The banquet captain was constantly checking in with us and our parents. Not only did we love everything about the venue but our guests also commented on the amazing service during their stay and at the wedding.
Each bellman introduced himself to me the entire weekend and congratulated us. Everyone was so kind and accomidating. I could never imagined such an amazing weekend. I would recommend the intercontinental to anyone!

Intercontinental Hotel was an amazing venue with an outstanding staff dedicated to making my daughter's wedding perfect. Jaclyn was my catering coordinator and I can not say enough about the care, professionalism and time she took to make sure every detail was taken care of. I hosted the wedding, a large block of rooms and a Sunday Day After the Wedding brunch. Jaclyn made sure all of it was perfect. The food was outstanding. The venue was spotless. The staff was beyond attentive. Every aspect was beyond my expectations.

Working with Budi and Chris at the InterCon was fantastic! The InterCon offers unparalleled service and provides an amazing downtown venue in Chicago. Not only was the even staff amazing, but the banquet staff was unbelievably helpful and accommodating and our wedding seriously was perfect. I could not have asked for anything more! The food was even better than at our tasting and we received so many compliments. The staff even put pillows on my chair to supplement the back because I couldn't sit all the way against the back because of my dress. It was a small thing that was so special! You would not find that anywhere else, I guarantee. They took all of my concerns and desires for the day into consideration and it was perfect.

During our wedding planning phase, the associate director of catering associate was very helpful in suggesting other wedding vendors we should use. We actually chose all our vendors from their preferred vendor list because I believe the vendors will communicate with each other better during the wedding planning. He was able to help us choose a ballroom, linens, and tableware that fit our style and comfort level. The menu the hotel provided was very detailed with many selections to choose from. He also always emailed and called me back when I had questions or concerns.
Our wedding day was flawless. Our catering director was present during the wedding ceremony and reception to make sure everything went as planned. He helped with guest seating, ceremony execution, and made sure that the wedding party was comfortable before the ceremony started.
All of the hotel personnel were very helpful. The cocktail servers and waiters during the cocktail hour and reception were very friendly and were always there to help with guest questions and service. When the we (bride and groom) would leave the table they always made sure our food was covered to keep it warm and our wine glasses were never empty. The food was phenomenal. I have never ate filet mignon that was so tender and the vegetables were delightful as well. I have no bad comments to share about this hotel. My wedding was elegant and very classy.

This hotel was fantastic from the day we booked to the week after our wedding. They even called to see how the happy couple was doing later on! The rooms for both the Ceremony and the Reception were gorgeous. The catering manager was excellent and provided top notch food, of which our guests were served things that the hotel had done special for our wedding. The honeymoon suite was two floors of fabulousness and we were treated like royalty. Steps away from famous Michigan Ave., shopping galore and museums that make this city tick. The InterContinental is a fantastic venue to host any affair, but makes your wedding that extra special!

We had to change our reception location 30 days before the wedding and were so lucky that the IC Chicago could accommodate us on such short notice. Their events manager, Ken Severin, was absolutely fabulous! He made wonderful suggestions and made the entire reception run perfectly. The quality of the food was excellent, we are still hearing about how delicious it all was. The ballroom had just been renovated - very elegant, and the double staircase from the balcony allows the bridal party to make dramatic entrance. Highly recommend it.

Budi, Chris and Kellie - what a fantastic team! They were available for any odd question I may have had throughout the entire planning process. During our exploratory search for a venue, our experience with the catering team and the service staff - plus of course the reception room itself - sold us and we signed immediately! Our guests made comments, which we echo, such as 'flawless,' 'perfection' and 'magical!' Location was excellent, considering we had guests from Scotland and states all across America; shopping, sight-seeing and restaurants! Look no further if you want your dream wedding and a wedding for guests to remember. [I need to write a book to share all the positives.] Couple of negatives were the 'evening manager' (not helpful at all with post-event items) and Chicago City Taxes (out of everyone's control, yet keep in mind if you are working with a budget).

Couldn't be happier!

From the first venue tour (Tara was amazing) through to the wedding day (Shay was also incredible) - every single intercon employee we encountered seemed to make it their mission to fulfill our every need with a high level of service. Shay and Tara were especially responsive and accomodating through the planning process. The catering staff were incredible and the food was amazing - many of our guests commented on the level of service and how good the food was. The bartenders were also fantastic. Our custom cocktail - the espresso martinis - made the night - each one was shaken and served in a martini glass. The space itself is obvisouly gorgeous and one-of-a-kind when it comes to ballrooms in downtown Chicago - we were able to save money on decor and flowers because of this. The Presidential Suite was truly out of a fairly tale and being able to take phoots from the rooftop was epic! We couldn't be happier we chose the InterCon and would recommend to anyone!

We had an amazing wedding at the Intercontinental Chicago - Mag Mile. They did a stellar job accommodating us and our guests. Their costumer service along with the service of the staff was unlike any other place. This hotel will have a special place in our hearts forever.

We had our wedding at the InterContinental on 9/7/2013, and we are very pleased with the venue and services! The King Arthur ballroom is truly a beautiful space and the perfect venue for our celebration. The food and service are top notch and more than we had hoped for. Chris Schmidt was a pleasure to work with - he is professional, responsive and put us at ease through the process. We would definitely recommend the InterContinental to our friends and family.

We had a fantastic experience. The guests loved the venue, and this is probably the best place in downtown to have a wedding. Perfect location, great staff!

The Intercontinental was an incredible place to get married. Our guests were all amazed at the quality of the food and the beauty of the venue itself. We had impeccable service all night. Because it is a hotel package, pricing and details were not as flexible as some other venues might be, but it was well worth it in the end.

We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and it was magical to say the least. I absolutely fell in love with their grand ballroom and several of my guests commented that it was one of the most beautiful weddings that they had ever been to. Our catering director-Chris-was very responsive to us throughout the whole process. Even when he was out of the office, I was impressed with how the other staff in catering would immediately offer to help and answer questions. On the night of the wedding--Chris was there making sure everything went smoothly. Many of my guests raved not only about how beautiful the venue was but also about how excellent the food and overall service was. At one point in the evening I thanked my wedding coordinator for how smoothly and organized everything was going, and she said thanks but it's not really me, it's the hotel staff! Overall, this is a great place to have a wedding! The cost of the wedding is comparable with other downtown chgo hotels.

The InterContinental was a fabulous hotel! All the contacts we worked with were very responsive and professional. The ballrooms are gorgeous and well maintained.

The InterContinental hotel is a wonderful place to have a reception. All the rooms are very unique and beautiful, as is the entire hotel. You can't beat the location (the only hotel on Michigan Ave). The cake was from Bitter Sweet (included in the meal package) and all the guests seemed to love it. We also got tons of compliments on the food. My only complaint would be that we wanted food stations with a variety of different foods and they didn't seem to have much experience in this style of food service. But, the service was excellent throughout the reception. I would highly recommend using Michelle or another one of their more experienced caterers.

We had a very positive and fun experience here. Staff is very helpful. Only one thing, there two towers are not connected so every time you have to come to lobby to go to other tower.

We were scheduled to have our wedding at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile in November 2012. Sixty Six days prior to our wedding we received a call from the Intercontinental Chicago informing us that they were cancelling our contract. When we asked why, we were told that the room was already rented out to another party. When I asked why we were not notified of this when we reserved the room and gave them our money we were told they did not think the other party would actually use the room. They ruined our wedding. Stay away from the intercontinental hotel.
