  Magical wedding weekend

  My husband (!) and I just had our dream wedding at Hill Farm Inn in December 2021. We contacted Taylor, Hill Farm's events guru upon a recommendation from a local florist/designer and immediately upon speaking to her knew this was the place for us. We originally began planning a ~75 person wedding for Fall 2022 and then did some soul searching, totally changed course, and asked Taylor if we would be able to pull off a micro-wedding with 14 of us...in 4 months! She was completely game and made our vision of a New England Christmas-wonderland come to life, recommending all of her favorite vendors in the area, and running with our ideas in every way. She was completely game and made our vision of a New England Christmas-wonderland come to life, recommending all of her favorite vendors in the area, and running with our ideas in every way. She made planning SO easy, and really listened to everything we wanted, while adding in her own expertise in planning weddings (she's been doing this for many years at multiple respected venues).
  
  We rented the entire inn for the weekend and 12 of our nearest and dearest got to stay with us for the most magical wedding weekend that ever existed. Taylor and the ENTIRE staff (Jules the bartender, Maria the breakfast server, and the list goes on and on and ON!) were not only consummate professionals, but made sure to go above and beyond at every step for our entire group. They became part of our family for the weekend, and pulled off something that I don't think I'll ever be able to put into words.
  
  Hill Farm is one of the most quaint, beautiful, quintessentially Vermont places I've ever stepped foot in, and if you're on the fence about booking your special day here, DO IT! You will not regret it.

  Slice of heaven

  What a slice of heaven! Location, furnishings, dining, service, property - every aspect of Hill Farm Inn absorbed our fatigue and stress and replaced it with serenity and happiness. We especially loved the candlelit dinner in the barn event space. Perfect attention to details blended with the rustic simplicity created a magical energy.

  Dream wedding at dream venue

  My husband and I could not have asked for a better experience getting married at Hill Farm Inn. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about our wedding weekend there. The property is stunning and there are so many different scenic spots to choose from for the wedding events. We had a guest list of about 80 in July, so chose to set up our ceremony outside, followed by the cocktail hour on the porch/inside the Main Inn and dinner/dancing in the reception barn. They went out of their way to help and did it with such care and attention to detail. In addition to the wedding day, we hosted other events at HFI including our farewell brunch on Sunday. The grounds, accommodations and food are all amazing. Additionally about half of our guests stayed onsite and were so pleased with their experience. This was our dream wedding weekend and venue, and I can't imagine having hosted it anywhere other than Hill Farm Inn! Our guests keep telling us it is the most beautiful wedding they have been to.

  We loved having our wedding here! It is a classic and tasteful venue that was just the right size for our 40 person wedding. Almost everyone stayed on-site and they all commented on how beautiful, comfortable and perfect the Hill Farm Inn is.

They provided excellent recommendations for vendors (food, flowers, photography), catered lunches and wedding favors, which helped make the whole planning process (and day-of) a breeze :)
  
  Can't wait to go back and visit in the future for a weekend getaway!
  
  **If you're considering the Hill Farm:
  -Their event barn doesn't have a kitchen, so we rented kitchen equipment for our caterer to use. Alternatively, you could hire a caterer that prepares food off-site. Rental equipment cost us about $3700 total, which included everything from tents, stove and grill to dinnerware, linens, silverware, drink pitchers, hightop tables, etc.)
  -We were required (and happy) to rent the entire Inn for the weekend in order to use the barn as our reception venue. This is exactly what we wanted, but just know you'll have to fill all of the rooms--which are beautiful, modern and spacious.
  -Rain or shine, this place has plenty of covered and uncovered options for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
  -Fully-stocked bar and lots of space to congregate. Most of our guests stayed up late drinking wine, catching up with each other, and relaxing in the hot tub.
  -If you're planning a summer wedding, mosquitos will be an unavoidable evil. The Inn is situated next to conservation land and has farm animals (sheep, alpacas, and a cat), so they weren't comfortable with mosquito spraying.

  I had my wedding here in June 2017 and I couldn't recommend Hill Farm Inn enough. I rented out the entire location so both my family and wedding party could stay in the same place. From the moment we booked Hill Farm Inn, I could tell the staff cared and wanted to make sure every detail was taken care of down to the last request.
  Thanks to the stunning location and views, I had some of the most beautiful images of all time (see photos!). The amazing, wonderful, kind staff were the best and they helped to make sure all the guests had the best experience and their needs were taken care of - Kim is a true gem and went above and beyond in helping me make my stay and wedding day perfect. We booked our rehearsal dinner there and had one of the best meals made by their resident chef and innkeeper, Mariah - she made sure to work with me beforehand to ensure the menu was perfect. My guest and I stayed full and happy all weekend long thanks to the breakfasts (do not leave without eating her granola!!!).
  The entire property is newly renovated and is decorated with class and style- they did a great job capturing the Vermont vibe. They even recently installed a pool and hot tub which was put to use quickly when we arrived. We held our ceremony under a beautiful tree and moved the cocktail hour to the giant wrap around porch before moving into the new event barn for dinner and dancing (again, see photos).
  Thank you to the Hill Farm Inn team for making my wedding weekend absolutely amazing. We will be back again soon!

  I would highly recommend the Hill Farm Inn for any event, especially a wedding! Everyone who works there were so accommodating and really worked with us on our ever changing needs, which can happen! They were nothing short of professional and we can't wait to go back and stay again!

  Hill Farm Inn was the most beautiful place for our wedding. They helped make it absolutely perfect. They were easy to work with and endlessly helpful. I would highly recommended them for both events or a quiet weekend away in the mountains of Vermont.

  This is the most beautiful place to be married in Vermont. The inn and the setting are gorgeous. The staff really go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. Whether for 50 guests or 350 guests they can accommodate you in fine style with graciousness and good humor.

  The Hill Farm Inn was a perfect venue for our ceremony and reception. I still cannot believe how beautiful the event was! Mariah and the entire staff were helpful, patient, and kind. My family so enjoys spending time there, we returned to celebrate Thanksgiving there, as well! I recommend The Hill Farm Inn to any couple looking to get married in Southern Vermont. The view is spectacular, the Inn is beautifully appointed, the food is delicious (especially the breakfast biscuits), and the staff is lovely.

We booked our wedding at Hill Farm and 6 months later had to cancel and find a new venue and change our date because they were so difficult to work with. In this six month period - after signing an initial site fee, contracting with other vendors and sending out our save the dates - they backed us into a corner by requiring to pay additional fees we did not agree on, including raising the coordination fee, asking us to split... In this six month period - after signing an initial site fee, contracting with other vendors and sending out our save the dates - they backed us into a corner by requiring to pay additional fees we did not agree on, including raising the coordination fee, asking us to split the cost of a bathroom trailer because their bathroom wouldn't be working, renting additional tables that were supposed to be included and deciding after months of back and forth that they could no longer cater our rehearsal dinner because it was too stressful. Throughout the process, it often took weeks to get in touch with someone and we felt like a bother rather than like we were working with a venue that wanted our business or to help us create a memorable weekend. There are plenty of other beautiful inns in the area - save yourself from the massive wedding headache we had to deal with.
