The g.o.a.t
We found it challenging to write a review simply because our words could never do Henry and his artistry justice. Ashley stumbled across Henry in the beginning of the pandemic. He photographed a few of her colleague’s elopements and was also a former ICU nurse. She quickly fell in love with his work on IG and followed him for years in amazement. When we got engaged, there was no question who we wanted to capture our special day.
Working with Henry was effortless from the very beginning. He is such a humble and genuine human with a warmth that makes you feel like you’ve known him for years. Henry and his talents were worth every penny and then some.
Henry has not only mastered the artistry of photography, but he’s also mastered the business side of photography. He is extremely organized, responsive, technically savvy, detailed oriented, and understanding.
He goes above and beyond in every aspect of helping you plan your special day. Not only does he recommend locations that are tailored to the couple, but he also provides countless vendor suggestions. He saved us on more than one occasion.
When our original cabin venue was suddenly sold, Henry helped us stay calm and offered thoughtful solutions. When we struggled to find an allergy friendly caterer, he guided us with recommendations and support. Even when the location we planned for photos was unexpectedly closed, Henry pivoted instantly and found stunning alternatives without missing a beat.
Anyone who has seen Henry’s work knows that his photos are breathtaking. However, what we found to be even more incredible is that he captured not just how the day or moment looked, but how it felt. Every laugh, every tear, every quiet, or joyful moment is preserved in a way that makes us relive the day every time we look at the images.
We are endlessly grateful for Henry’s support and artistry—our wedding day or memories would not be the same without him. He truly is the G.O.A.T.

Everyone wants to perfectly capture their wedding day in a way that symbolizes the experience; Henry does it perfectly! From the first meeting his thorough and sincere approach made us feel immediately comfortable with him alleviating the task of selecting a photographer, not feeling the need to look further. He also provided us with equally capable providers for other services further easing the planning process.
We awoke to the weather potentially being less than cooperative for what we planned, creating a slight level of stress for the day going forward. Henry assured us it would not be a barrier for him in achieving our goals to which he surely delivered. Nothing about his efforts for the day was passive, from the moment of his morning arrival to his post sunset departure. It was evident that he gave us the benefits of his talents and experience from start to finish. Henry's ability to not only to embrace the environment and our theme while suggesting the perfect shots was superb in every way. All the elements of his involvement assisted in making the day stress free and positively memorable, while making us appear far more photogenic than we really are. It is rewarding to experience someone with a talent that enhances and fulfills other people's lives. Saying "thank you", though sincere doesn't seem like enough to express our gratitude and satisfaction!

Everything I dreamed of & more!
My husband and I will never stop ranting and raving about Henry! He was everything we wanted and more. He works incredibly hard and it definitely shows. Throughout the entire planning process, I was so stressed about the florals, the dress, the small details, but I was never once worried about the photos and how they would turn out. We could’ve chosen from so many photographers, but none would’ve compared to the experience that Henry provided. He was so personal from the very beginning and always made sure we were doing okay along the way. While he was taking our photos, everything felt so natural. The quality of the photos are actually unreal, I mean just take a look at all the other reviews!! People have not stopped talking about Henry and how amazing our photos turned out. To anyone that may be on the fence about booking Henry as your photographer, just do it. You will not regret it whatsoever. We love you Henry!!! We would book you again in a heartbeat. -

We can’t put into words how thankful & grateful we are for Henry! We knew having him at our wedding in Greece was going to be one of the best decisions we’ve made (aside from getting married 😉). But honestly, our expectations were absolutely blown away. He brought the life and the party to our wedding day - having fun with our guests and making everyone feel actually excited to be in front of the camera. Jumping off the boat together, dancing during the late hours and getting to explore Milos together.. honestly some of our favorite memories! It’s so incredible to be on the other side of the lens, and get to see how a relationship with a “vendor” can turn into a real friendship. Looking back on these photos, we can FEEL exactly how we felt on our wedding day. Thank you Henry for the best day ever, we absolutely adore you! 💛

The perfect day
From our first zoom, until the last photo was taken. I have had a 5 star experience. Not a single hiccup. Nick, helped create our best day ever. I am never left speechless but this experience will have in an awe of how amazing everything is. You can tell that Nick absolutely loves his job, and wants to give you the best day possible. He is personable, fun, caring and passionate. I will recommend Nick and this company to anyone looking. Nick knew the roads and the great places to stop like the back of his hand. I mean everything was perfect, you don't have to do much once you hire them. The quality of pictures we received are incredible and this is just the sneak peek so far. The experience you receive, the absolutely stunning pictures, the adventure Nick took us on, the memories we created was worth EVERY DOLLAR. -

The most incredible photos ever!
We had Nick as our photographer, and where do we even begin?! Nick was there for us every step of the way. Climbing mountains, getting in a river with us, going all out for our once in a life time day. We received sneak peaks just days after our ceremony, his responses were quick, he was early everywhere we went. Not only was he a great photographer, but we enjoyed our time talking to him and left with a new friend. We are so grateful we chose Henry Tieu Photography and could not recommend them more. -

We had such a wonderful experience with Henry for our adventure elopement! From the very beginning, he was so helpful and responsive—communicating timelines clearly and brainstorming beautiful spots with us. On the day of, he made everything feel easy and stress-free. A few of the places we originally wanted to go were closed, but Henry immediately had backup locations ready, and they turned out to be absolutely perfect.
Even though we didn’t do a big hike or the “typical” adventure elopement, Henry made sure our day still felt just as special and meaningful. He was such a joy to work with, and we are so grateful for the memories and photos he captured. Highly recommend him! He was worth every penny. -

We absolutely loved working with Henry! From the very start, he was organized, on top of everything, and such a calming presence. He helped us lock down the perfect location, worked through multiple timeline revisions with patience, and kept us on track throughout the entire planning process.
On our wedding day, Henry made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera—it felt effortless. When we had to pivot locations last-minute due to weather, he instantly knew the perfect backup spot, and it turned out incredibly.
Our photos are beyond stunning—we’re still gushing over them—and having Henry as our photographer was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our elopement. He’s personable, easy to work with, and incredibly talented. Couldn’t recommend Henry more! -

If you are looking for a photographer to capture your special day, look no further. I highly recommend booking with Henry. Henry is so talented. We already knew the photos were going to turn out amazing but once we got some sneaks, I told my husband, "I don't think I've ever cried from looking at photos before". From start to finish, our experience has been so memorable. It was easy communicating with Henry. He carefully listened when we said we loved the lantern photos and answered any questions we had as we planned for our special day. He was professional and yet we felt so comfortable around him, he felt like a long-time friend. My favorite moment was our private vows. We had music playing in the background and it felt so personal, I totally forgot Henry was even there taking photos of us! It felt so natural, no forced poses, and you can feel the emotions that were felt in the images Henry captured. The photos came out so dreamy and we love them so much!! This isnt just about taking pictures, it’s the one moment you get to capture a lifetime of happiness in one setting. these pictures meant so much to us, and the experience was unforgettable , all thanks to these guys! My wife and I were engaged for almost 2 years before even thinking about planning our wedding. When we began, my first thought was photos. I’ve followed Henry on several social media platforms for years, and never thought twice about being able to actually meet him, let alone be our photographer.
By some miracle, he was available for the date we had chosen- and it was within 3 months, too. Meeting him was like meeting a celebrity but he made us feel SO comfortable, even when we didn’t know answers to questions or have exact ideas or directions in which we wanted to go.
Henry guided us through planning our entire wedding, helping make the right choices for us as far as location, what our vision might be, etc… The day of our dreams. I would have genuinely been so much more stressed if he were not involved in the process. We had difficulties surrounding our families and Henry responded quickly with so many different solutions, making it no problem. Through out the entire process, Henry was so warm, so genuine, hilarious, incredibly thoughtful, professional, and an overall genius.
Our photos speak for themselves in how GORGEOUS they are. He listened to our every request and made it all happen. It felt as if Henry were a part of our family being there, he just fit right in with our crazy crew and it felt so comfortable and perfect.
Besides choosing my wife, choosing Henry was the best decision I we could have made for our special day. We will recommend him again and again. -

My wife and I are so glad we booked with Henry. Not only did he take absolutely stunning pictures but he made the entire experience of traveling to a destination we’ve never been to before easy with many suggestions on places to book stays, places to shoot, and who to contract for hair/makeup, florals, etc. And the photoshoot was very professional and casual at the same time, he made us feel good and we didn’t feel rushed, even more so he validated our choices and gave suggestions on poses and shots as he added his unique artistic touch. You know you’re working with a good photographer when they can show you pictures during the shoot right off their camera screen and they look and feel jaw dropping. I can’t recommend Henry enough and he certainly deserves all the awards and accolades he gets. -

Holy. Shit.
Henry is one of the most genuine and compassionate humans I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. His passion and love can be seen in his photos. Every shot felt like a work of art that you would see in a museum or magazine. He came beyond prepared for all of our shenanigans and was able to perfectly execute every photo op like a true magician. Thank you, Henry, for all your heart and hard work. Dolomite’s Elopement
What an absolutely amazing and magical experience it was eloping in the Dolomite’s with Henry. He was extremely helpful in helping us plan our big day. Always a text or phone call away and was fast to respond. Let’s not forget why we booked him…those photos!! A true genius of his craft. Easy to work with, made us feel comfortable, confident and always kept us smiling. This is a hard one for me to write… not because it was at all a negative experience- but because the impact he had on us was so powerful. *let the tears commence.* 🥹
My wife and I got engaged 3 years ago. We knew we wanted to enjoy our time engaged before planning anything, BUT as one does, we immediately looked up wedding photographers and found a photo on Pinterest of a lesbian couple with some lanterns… We stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning COMPLETELY ENTHRALLED by this photographer.
“Who is this dude and should we even reach out?!?!”
Someone with such stacked accolades, experience, professionalism, raw talent and vast internet exposure seemed so far out of the realm of our reality that we were hesitant to even consider it.
But we did….
Little did we know, his phenomenal photography is only a fraction of what makes his career unique. It’s HIM. Henry has the biggest heart and such a compassionate soul. We started this journey a bit reserved but by the end we were sharing “coming out stories,” our unique human experiences, family dynamics and funny little stories that transformed him from photographer to friend.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change locations multiple times and he was SO patient through it all. Additionally, we were running a bit behind on day of wedding (I had a full fledged anxiety attack) and he reminded us: “hey, it’s just us.. There’s no one you need to be rushing for- enjoy the moment and savor it. This day is for YOU.”
Simple- yet so powerful. And that’s who Henry Tieu is.

Very long story short…. Don’t EVER sell yourself short. Don’t ever think something amazing is beyond your reach or “too good to be true.” Good and very tangible things are out there. P.S. I HATEEEEEEE getting my photos taken. I’m the MOST awkward at poses and trying to look “serious lololol” but within 20 minutes I gained this ethereal confidence that only he could summon. The guy has skills lol. ***Notice the awkwardness from the first video melt as the day goes on.

I think everyone gets those nervous, anxious butterflies when meeting someone face-to-face for the first time (after only speaking through phone, FaceTime, text, and emails) Especially when the first time is on the day that you’re going to marry the love of your life- not really knowing how it’s going to be with this person you’ve put so much trust into.
I was so nervous to meet Henry; the fear started overflowing as soon as we got the text that he was just a couple of minutes away.
All of those loud and heavy, anxious butterflies that I was consuming for the past two years completely evaporated as soon as we all saw each other. And that’s when I knew we were just meeting our friend! 🥹
We weren’t just getting the greatest wedding photographer on the planet; we were given a genuine, warming, soul-grabbing human being that went above and beyond to capture something so pure.
Our photos and this beautiful experience he helped us create were just so special. He truly captures art and brings dreams you couldn’t even imagine come true!

I had been following Henry on Instagram for years and was obsessed with his incredible elopement photos. For so long, I dreamt of having Henry as our photographer when my boyfriend and I eventually got married. So, when we got engaged, we knew two things for sure: we wanted a breathtaking location, and we hoped Henry would be the one to capture the magic of our special day.
Choosing to elope was a big decision for us, especially coming from such large families. After talking with Henry, one question that truly resonated with us was, “When you close your eyes, what do you see for your special day?”. We knew immediately that we’d found the perfect person to bring our vision to life, because when we pictured our day: we saw stunning views and just US.

Turn Your Love into Art: Sergio is the Photographer You Need!
We chose Henry Tieu Photography for our wedding, and I can’t recommend them enough! As a couple who values our privacy and always dreamed of an intimate elopement, we initially struggled to find the perfect location that truly represented us. With our backgrounds in photography, we were particularly discerning about who we entrusted with our wedding photos (I am a picky girlie).
After searching through Instagram and wedding websites for an adventure elopement photographer, we found Henry Tieu Photography, and we knew instantly that they were the right fit. We had the pleasure of scheduling a call with our photographer, Sergio, who was incredibly supportive and attentive. He guided us through all the important decisions without pushing us toward anything that didn’t align with our vision.
As avid rock climbers, we always envisioned eloping in Yosemite, but since we had never been there, we felt a bit overwhelmed with location choices. Sergio to the rescue! He provided us with invaluable tips, suggested specific locations, and created a timeline to ensure we had the best lighting for our photos that also aligned with our vision. He even sent us a comprehensive checklist to navigate the legalities of getting married in a national park and offered a list of local vendors. Essentially, he planned our entire wedding day for us, allowing us to simply show up and enjoy the moment.
When we received our sneak peeks just a week after the ceremony, I was completely blown away. I was in the grocery store when the email arrived and I literally shrieked when I opened our album! We didn’t just receive a handful of photos; we were gifted an entire album of over 50 stunning images. Sergio had literally transformed us into art—our photos could easily grace the walls of a gallery. We are only about two weeks out of our wedding date so we are still waiting on the full album, but I have no doubt they will be just as mind blowing as our sneaks!

Finding the perfect photographer to capture our day was a top priority for us. In the very early stages, we reached out to Henry, even though we were still uncertain about the date, plans, or even the number of guests. We felt overwhelmed by all the options and decisions that come with wedding planning. But from our very first call with Henry, everything just clicked. He is so knowledgeable about the entire process—not just photography—which was incredibly reassuring. Throughout the planning, he provided recommendations on dates, locations, Airbnbs, vendors, and more.
Henry goes above and beyond with his preparation to ensure everything runs smoothly. On the day of our ceremony, he quickly noticed that our original spot was busier than expected and suggested a more private location. He scouted a new spot atop a cliff overlooking the beach, right in the backyard of our venue, which turned out to be more magical than we could have ever imagined. I've known Henry since 2017 when we worked as nurses together in WA. It has truly been an honor to watch his growth from a baby photographer to the world renowned adventure elopement photographer he is today. Henry is an all-in-one. Forget about hiring a wedding planner and just hire Henry. He provides links to venues, unlimited zoom calls, vendor recommendations, and even scouts out the area beforehand so he can capture exactly what you pictured for your wedding day.
Henry feels safe and calm. His ability to improvise and make the best out of what nature gives you is unrivaled. On our wedding day, the road was closed to where we wanted to elope. Henry suggested a trail just 4 miles from our cabin and it was even better than we could have expected. We are BLOWN AWAY by our photos. Whether candid or posed, by a river or on top of a mountain, these photos are how you are going to remember your wedding day. Don't skimp on your budget and do yourself a favor and HIRE HENRY. It will be the best decision you will make for your wedding day.

When researching lgbtq+ supporting photographers to capture our adventure elopement, we found Henry and for that we are grateful. Even before setting up an initial consult with Henry, we learned so much about our elopement possibilities, resources, and of course photography style right from his website. The first time we met with Henry online our time together flew by, and we felt like Henry had been a long-time friend. He went over all the important details of location, time, what made us choose elopement, his experiences, and recommendations etc. From the time we held our initial consult with Henry to after our elopement day, Henry always makes himself available for support or questions. He connected us with great vendors for our officiant, cake, and florals that we also built great relationships with. Within our own personalized website through Henry’s platform, we were able to access elopement resources, checklists and send messages.
The most important part, elopement day and after. We laughed, cried, and climbed mountains. Henry played a huge role in making sure the most important day in our relationship was everything we wanted. He took us to multiple locations in the park and made sure we were on track for time, all while capturing our beautiful day with a smile. One of our favorite moments was right before we exchanged our vows, all of us including Henry’s lovely assistant and our officiant sat for a moment, had a bite to eat and shared great conversation. Henry of course snapped a photo of that moment. The hardest part was exchanging hugs and parting ways at the end of the day.
Within a few days Henry had shared an album of sneaks with us. His artistic abilities are unmatched. When we look at these photos we are brought back to that beautiful, intentional day on the mountain. Book Henry, it will be the best thing you do for your big day!

Above and Beyond Experience!
My husband and I are both into nature and we had always dreamed of a forest wedding. Ultimately, we decided to go to Washington State after we came across Henry’s Instagram. We were immediately amazed by his keen eye for details and unique color tone. The photos he shot in various national parks were the biggest reason for us to go all the way from Brooklyn to Seattle.
It was down pouring the whole day on our private adventure day, yet the photos turned out to be SURREAL. Henry turned the chilly background into a magical and enchanting realm, and we all look so elegant in our wet and uncomfortable wedding outfits.
We were thoroughly impressed over the two days spent with Henry and his ability to identify and capture moments of our wedding/adventure day. His photos brought out many details of our most important day to cherish throughout our life, and give him a strong recommendation if you are looking for a wedding photographer. -

Our magical elopement
Sergio was our photographer and in addition to making us feel comfortable and relaxed on our wedding day the pictures turned out incredible. Multiple people have reached out to tell me our wedding pictures are the most beautiful they have ever seen! And these are just the sneaks that we got back same week. Additionally Sergio was super easy to work with leading up to the day, and provided great recommendations for the other vendors we needed. We had the most amazing experience with Henry as our intimate wedding photographer! My husband and I initially decided the photography and an intimate experience were the most important pieces to us for our wedding. Henry exceeded all of our expectations. He was so helpful throughout the entire process - helping us pick a hike for our day, determining the agenda, and giving us tips throughout. We knew we could reach out whenever we had questions. On the day of he made us and our families feel so comfortable and everyone commented on what a wonderful experience it was. We had the joy of getting to spend 2 days with Henry and love that we had the extra time. The first day we could focus on family and the second day could just be for me and my husband. Choosing Henry's Diary as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our big day. Henry's Diary was the first vendor we booked - and we didn't really know where we were going to elope, let alone what activity! From start to finish, Sergio delivered an exceptional experience that went beyond our highest expectations. At the first consultation, he was genuine, caring, and authentic to talk to - SO MUCH FUN!
The quality of Sergio’s work is nothing short of breathtaking. Every image he captured is a work of art, with a perfect blend of spontaneous candid and emotional moments and beautifully composed shots. The way he played with the sunrise light and all the angles on the mountain is truly masterful, and the result will be photos we will always cherish. Because of Sergio, we can relive those intimate and emotional moments.
Sergio truly took the time to understand our vision, listened to our preferences, and offered insightful suggestions that aligned perfectly with our style. On our elopement day, he was our calming presence, our biggest hype man, allowed us to truly live in the moment and take everything in while he effortlessly coordinated shots without ever being intrusive.
Sergio captured the essence of our elopement in a way that feels timeless, magical and authentic to who we are, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results - AND we only have sneak peeks. Truly, Sergio made our day incredibly perfect. I know there is no such thing as perfection - but if there was it would have been our elopement day. -

Sergio was amazing. He was easy to talk to and work with. He was also available when we had questions. The photos were worth the price and he guided us through our special day. I originally started following Henry on Instagram quite a few years ago. I knew I wanted him to capture my wedding day before I even knew who I was going to marry! 😂 Luckily Greg fell in love with Henry’s work and it was not hard to convince him once we were engaged. The process of working with Henry was seamless, organized and most of all memorable. His knowledge and experience helped us decide to scratch Yosemite NP and opt for a more private remote location which ended up being Alaska. Besides his amazing ability to capture and create art he provides a meaningful presence for your special day. In our case it was just the two of us. Before the day we were nervous that we would be awkward in front of the camera (we are inexperienced models lol) on the actual day I never felt awkward at all. Henry gently directed some posing but overall it was all very natural and organic moments. His energy and genuine excitement for us throughout the whole day means the world to us. We can’t imagine our day without him being a part of it. Henry is flexible and truly there for you throughout the whole process. We originally planned to have some family at our day but due to a family member needing surgery we switched gears. At one point we talked about changing dates which Henry was agreeable to. He really was willing to help us out in anyway that he could. We can’t thank him enough for that. Overall our experience blew my expectations out of the water and my expectations were already pretty high lol. It was the best day of our lives and I am so grateful to Henry for capturing those moments for us to look back on for the rest of our lives. Working with Henry is worth every penny & I highly recommended him!!

I cannot say enough good about our elopement experience with Henry!
Not only is a uniquely talented photographer (we truly cannot find photos that compare!!), he has the warmest presence and uplifting energy. You can’t help but smile when you’re with him. The joy he finds in celebrating other’s happiness and his passion for the craft of photography are supremely evident. He made everyone (including my camera-shy husband) feel so comfortable and included and “themselves” in the process, and it shows up on all of our faces.
Henry also worked tirelessly to make sure we had the exact experience we wanted — pivoting with the weather, calming our nerves, and rolling with the punches. His flexibility and good-nature made all the difference.
The photos themselves are incredible keepsakes we’ll treasure forever, but it’s the memories and the way it felt with Henry that is absolutely priceless. We are so grateful and thrilled to have had the chance to work with him. There’s a reason everyone gives him 5 stars!! (I’d give him 6 if I could ⭐️). -

I found Henry through my coworker as Henry was also his wedding photographer. What I was looking for was a timeless, artistic and creative way to capture the day, and I'm picky on those. After I saw Henry's work on IG and also all the great comments from my coworker, I reached out to Henry and we had a video call. Then I know, I must get him for my wedding photography! Because he is also so warm, sweet, understanding and professional.
We had a 2-day photo shooting experience with Henry: wedding day photography and an elopement style photo shooting. In the planning process, we had a few calls and Henry helped us to pick the location after understanding what we like. And we finally decided the to go to Haleakala for a sunrise and I'm very glad we decided this. Henry has the eyes to find out the most beautiful spot and angles for our photo shooting. We also went for a hiking together. I am an introverted person and not always comfortable being around people. But I must say, I feel very comfortable and natural to chat with Henry and being in his camera. He knows his job really well, not just in artistic and professional way, but also his way of communicating with people and caring about people! I would love to have him to document all my big moments in my life!
My husband and I had our wedding in Maui, Olowalu Plantation House. Since it was a destination wedding, we had lots of things to worry about and I felt a bit stressful on the day. Henry helped to sort out many things, by coordinating with staff on the venue and worked so well with my videographer and coordinator, to ensure everything went smoothly as well as captured all the beautiful moments! What he did really relived my pressure a lot! I bet he knew my wedding timeline schedule better than me LOL.
I'm very happy and lucky to find Henry and had him on my big day. Not just for the beautiful moments he captured, but also his full heart on every details of the day! He really knows his job very well! You will never regret to have him as part of your day 😊

I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful Henry was not only as a photographer, but as an elopement planner. He helped plan our elopement from start to finish with location advice, helping find local Airbnbs, making sure we were prepared for our snowshoe adventure with the right gear, and helping my husband choose a suit.
Our biggest challenge was choosing a location and resources to help with our day to make things go smoothly. Henry provided an extensive list as well as examples of other couples’ elopements to give us ideas for what we were looking for. He also was very detailed about what the weather would likely be like at each location at the time of our elopement as well as the feasibility of each spot since we eloped in early May in Washington, where the weather is quite variable. We met a couple times with Henry before deciding on a location and he helped us to feel confident about our choice (snowshoeing in the mountains, which neither of us had ever done).
Henry also made it so easy to find other folks to help with our day. I was very anxious about having to find a hair/make-up artist, bakery, officiant, florist, etc all on my own in an area that I was not familiar with. Henry provided a great list of vendors for everything. Ultimately, we ended up booking his husband who essentially was an all-in-one and also works with a hair/make-up artist. That way we were able to minimize the amount of people involved and really streamlined our experience leading up to our day as well made us felt at ease on the day of.
The day of our elopement was somewhat surreal. We had been watching him work via Instagram the months leading up to our big day and it was so magical to see him bouncing around our Airbnb doing the detail photos. I immediately felt comfortable around him; it was like we were already friends before we had met in person. This made it so much easier for me to relax and be myself in the photos. I was much more concerned about my now husband, who can be very uncomfortable in front of a camera and often looks stiff. But not with Henry. He caught the natural smiles and true emotions that I get to appreciate every day. Truthfully, the moments Henry caught were genuine and not staged; we got to be ourselves and show our love and relationship in a way that we do on a daily basis. It all felt natural to us and our pictures clearly show that.
Words cannot describe what Henry can do. He is so thoughtful about his art and it really shows in his photos. We received our “sneaks” the day after our elopement and we were stunned with what he sent us. He really created and captured the magic of our day. When you book him, you won’t be disappointed. I never once questioned our decision to work with him from the first time we talked to him and we truly could not have asked for a better person to capture the most important day of our lives. -

Engagement Adventure Photoshoot in Olympic National Park
I first came across Henry's instagram page and was instantly drawn in by the most breathtaking and unique elopement and engagement photos that I've ever seen. Soon after, I contacted Henry. He responded quickly via email and even offered to speak with us over the phone to answer any questions. He was very upfront about the costs and provided us a detailed outline of the services that we were paying for. After reviewing the detailed contract on his customized webpage for us, we booked Henry for the Adventure Engagement Photoshoot. Although we booked the date 5 months out, Henry was prompt in responding to our emails and assisted us with ideas for photoshoot locations and wardrobe. We finally decided on a photoshoot in Lake Sutherland and Rialto Beach. Although the photoshoot locations were an hour apart from each other, Henry gladly agreed without charging us any extra fees. On the actual day of the photoshoot, Henry went above and beyond our expectations. We were worried that there was a winter storm, but despite the weather, Henry seemed enthused and willing to brave the rain, the hike, and the torrential terrain with us. Despite being one of the most awkward couples, he made us feel comfortable and we had one of the best and most memorable days that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We could truly see that he was one of the most honest people that we've met and that he truly loves what he does, especially because he immediately started editing and gave us a sneak peek 3 days after. We then received all of our photos about 4 weeks later and you can see that his work speaks for itself. -

I was very picky about finding my photographer. Something unique about Henry attracted me to send the very first inquiry email. And I’m so glad I did. Early in our wedding planning I was hoping to find someone who is creative and supportive of my vision, able to turn my vision into a memorable experience and photos that I could look back and relive those experiences years after. I’m so lucky to find Henry and he definitely exceeded my expectations.
In the early process, I had trouble finding the location. Henry took the time to listen to me and asked me about my vision, then gave me suggestions as well as his reasoning behind it. Never in a million years I think I would go to New Zealand to get married there(one of the two locations that Henry suggested). But that was the best choice I made. It was a perfect location for my dream wedding. He provided so many resources throughout the process. He Periodically followed up with us to make sure things were moving in the right direction. My husband and myself are the definition of procrastinator so this is extremely helpful. Because we had multiple meetings and many emails back and forth, it really helped us to bond with Henry and feel relaxed on our wedding day. My husband always smiles awkwardly in front of the camera and turns into someone else but somehow Henry was able to capture his true genuine smile! My husband who normally hates taking photos told me he actually had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the time. We both felt that he is not just a photographer we hire. He is our friend.
When we saw the sneak peaks, it exceeded our expectations. Besides the photos, Henry is a great human being. He surprised us multiple times with his thoughtfulness. One in particular, the day before our adventure day to Milford sound. He did location scouting and found out that the tunnel closed at 8PM. He saved us from getting stuck there and made sure our day went smoothly.
Henry’s passion for photography definitely reflects on his work. He creates art not just photos. Henry himself is cheerful, thoughtful, and a very warm person. I would recommend him 10000%. You will not regret your decision!!!! -

If you have been looking for the best wedding photographer, look no further! I cannot put into words how AMAZING it was working with Sergio. He made a destination elopement such a breeze.
We had a small wedding in Yosemite National Park in California. We had never been there before, and Sergio took all the weight off our shoulders when it came to all the research and hassles of a destination wedding. He sent us vendor references, air bnb ideas, and a detailed timeline of our wedding day. As many other reviews have said, Sergio was basically our wedding coordinator. If you are looking for a photographer who literally does it ALL, Sergio is your guy!
The wedding day, Sergio made both of us feel so comfortable and not awkward at all. We both do not like to be the center of attention and do not like to be photographed but there was never an awkward moment between us and Sergio. He was literally running around on the mountain side trying to get the best pictures and best angles. He even asked for some songs that we liked and brought a speaker and played them while he took pictures of us to make us feel more comfortable and relaxed. If you are looking for a photographer who does the little things, once again, Sergio is your guy! We could not stop talking about how much fun we had even though we were freezing our asses off in the 30-degree weather all day in wedding dresses lol.
Now for the pictures because I know that's what everyone wants to hear about. As soon as we opened the email our jaws dropped. The pictures were absolutely breathtaking. We still get compliments about them and how they're the most beautiful pictures they have ever seen. Along with the photographs, Sergio sent us a few GIFs as well. Those were so fun to see because we were not expecting those at all, and they turned out so cute!
If you want a photographer who truly cares about you and your experience, look no further. Sergio, thank you so much for making this day truly special for the both of us. We will cherish these photographs forever and relive these moments through these photographs. -

Early in our engagement my wife and I set out our list of priorities and found that we truly just wanted to have a clip of time dedicated to embracing our connection as we made our vows. It was important to both of us to keep our ceremony intimate but to still have it reflect the abundance of joy, laughter, and hope we that we each represented to each other.
Henry took this vision and turned it into fine art. He was the true champion leading up to, on the day of, and somehow even after our wedding. He surprised us time and time again with his thoughtfulness. He kept referrals and links at the ready any time we got stuck in our planning, worked like a vanishing magician during the ceremony, and managed to become a heartfelt friend in the end.
All in all, if I could give a higher rating on this review I would. As a disabled individual Henry never once othered me. A feat that is not easy when trying to speak with someone who struggles to maintain eye contact with new people or who is trying to traverse a sandy beach with a walker.
Beyond just the breathtaking photos that are absolutely still motion art at its finest, Henry himself is warm, thoughtful, and a pure joy. Both he and his work are priceless. -

Don't Compromise on Memories
We were super happy with our experience with Henry. We did a private elopement in Alaska, which neither of us had ever visited, and he walked us through the process and helped us connect with all our major vendors. It's stressful to plan an elopement at a place you've never been to, but he helped us through it and in the end we would not change anything.
All of our friends and family have been gushing over the photos and they all say that they feel like they were there too. I wasn't sure if it would be worth doing a private elopement since we both had a celebration at home with our friends and family before our elopement, but I'm really glad we still did it. The day was very intentional and intimate, and we got some photos and memories that we definetely missed back home. Small things that you don't realize you care about until you get your photos back and realize that they aren't there. Henry made sure that didn't happen by checking in with us often and making sure there wasn't anything we were missing, both before and during our session.
My husband also added: "Henry was really good at posing and helping compose the shots while still making us feel comfortable. He made sure we got all the photos and captured all the moments that we wanted." -

It's hard to describe how wonderful our experience has been with Henry, and how he has captured our special day BEAUTIFULLY so that we could remember it forever.
We had a mini wedding (we invited only our parents and siblings) in Alaska. Since none of us had ever been to Alaska, my husband and I were leaning towards hiring a local photographer, since we figured that they would know Alaska best... but I had seen Henry's beautiful photos online, and I was basically looking at photographers' portfolios to match Henry's aesthetic. And we ended up asking ourselves—why don't we just hire Henry? My husband was more on the fence about splurging on a photographer, but once we started working with Henry, he exceeded all expectations, and we UNDERSTOOD.
Henry listened to our thoughts and needs, helped us choose a location, and gave us recommendations for vendors, which were great starting points as we were planning. On the day of the wedding, Henry came very prepared, with hand warmers for the family (they didn't realize how cold Alaska was going to be in August), and snacks in the car (Henry- I still feel bad that we pretty much raided your snack basket and eggs-in-a-cup) ... my husband and I are quite camera shy, and although I wish that I had done more of my own research/practice beforehand on how to pose ~naturally~, Henry didn't make us feel awkward at all, and I really appreciated when he would give direction to us on what to do, and how to pose. By the end of the day, my husband and I were *quite* wiped out, but Henry seemed completely unfazed, and was totally ready for what was next.
If there's one piece of advice I want to give to future clients, I would say—voice your preferences and worries in the beginning (I said that I wanted to capture the beauty of the surroundings, and the candid moments with family), but on the day of, let Henry take the wheel and trust his judgment, because he will DELIVER! We went with that route, and we are so so happy with how the day went and how the photos turned out (we got shots with a double rainbow!). Although my husband and I are not really into sharing on social media, these beautiful photos make it too difficult to not show to the world.
2023 was rough for us, with many unwanted changes and loved ones passing ... but this day, and Henry being there to capture these memories, has been the biggest joy and highlight. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you SO much, Henry!! -

Words cannot express how much we loved Henry. Not only as an amazing photographer but also as a wonderful individual who just makes everyone in his presence feel comfortable.
We had looked for months for the photographer we thought would be perfect for our elopement day. When we came across Henry's photos we knew we wanted him to be our photographer. When we set up our initial call with Henry we didn't have a lot of specifics. We told him what we wanted, our vision for the day, but we had no specifics about when, where, etc. Henry immediately went to work on the call and started showing us different locations and sending us photos, hikes, etc. to gauge our interest of what we might like. He was so thorough and spent so much time on this initial call getting to know us. He even helped us scope out the perfect date because we wanted to get married on a 21st day.
After that call we were sold, and Henry guided us through the entire process with his resources and guides that help you plan and think of everything you might need/want for a wedding day. He sent us our information and we were able to narrow down the locations, and pick his brain about logistics of travel, rental home, etc for the big day. He was always around via email and we knew any question we had he would answer with lots of thought and care.
When it was finally the big day, not only did Henry make sure he got to us safely, but he also picked up and brought out wedding cake to us for the day. He went out of his way to make sure our cake made it to us. Right away he made us feel so comfortable and everything was so calm and easy going.
The day was magical, Henry is such a skilled photographer we were able to pivot and find the perfect locations for all the photos even with the smoke in the air from the Washington fires, Henry knew how to get the best shot every time. The day was everything we wanted, low key, stress free, and full of love. Henry was so quick to turn around sneaks and we were able to enjoy them with leftover cake and champagne in same places we got married and took photos. The full gallery is everything we could have wanted and more. Henry is the most incredible photographer and artist.
We loved our elopement with Henry and we joke that we should pick a vow renewal date years out from now just so we can get on his calendar early so we can be a part of the magic he creates once again. -

Henry is top tier! We feel so lucky to have got to work with him for our elopement. My husband and I are not the type that like being the center of attention. We wanted to get married and have it feel special and be in the moment. I found Henry on Instagram and knew he was who I wanted to work with, his art is unmatched! Henry is so much more than a photographer. He helped us choose a location and an Airbnb. Gave us recommendations for flowers, officiants, hair and makeup. He was pretty much our wedding coordinator ;) When the day finally came Henry had done his research on the location. He went to check out the spot for the ceremony before we met for the day. He was checking the tide and keeping an eye on the weather. He was super flexible when we voiced our concerns for staying as dry as possible for the ceremony. He was totally fine with switching up the plan due to the weather. At the end of the day when we said our goodbyes my husband and I couldn’t stop talking about how much fun we had and how amazing of a person Henry is! It felt like hanging out with a friend all day. Like I said we both don’t love being the center of attention, we never felt awkward during our photos being taken Henry made us feel so comfortable and made it so easy to be in the moment and enjoy our day!
Trust me, you will not regret working with Henry! He sent us sneak peaks a day after our elopement. It wasn’t just a few photos, he sent us 80!! On top of a few fun GIFs. It was so special to receive some photos so fast and also reassure our decision to work with Henry. The photos were mind blowing. We have received SO many compliments, they are simply perfection. I truly can’t recommend Henry enough!! -

So thankful to have had this experience with Henry, I always find it hard as a photographer to hire someone else to take my photos + since I don't like to be in front of the camera I tend to be kind of difficult, but Henry made it so easy for us to just be as we were in that moment. He traveled up the mountain with us to get exactly what we wanted as the backdrop to capture "us" and what we love. I cannot express enough how wonderful it was to work with Henry for our 7th-year vow renewal, also serving as our delayed wedding ceremony. Truly the best day
We’ve started to write this review a handful of times and then find ourselves stuck & speechless. We wanted to find the right words to describe how grateful and in awe we are from our whole experience with Sergio. We had plans, we had a location, we had a vision in mind of what our day would look like & all of that changed when the weather forecast was showing heavy rain all day. When we weren’t feeling so optimistic, Sergio was for us. Sergio was our calm when everything felt so chaotic. Even when it was raining sideways, when our trucks were shaking from the wind, we were soaking wet, our dogs were soaking wet, through all of it, Sergio was as able to guide us and create his magic that day. He trusted us when we said we didn’t want to share our vows at our first location and trusted us when we told him we had a second location in mind. When we arrived, he dove right in to explore the area for us. We may not have had a day that was actually planned but we did have a day that ended up being more memorable and magical than we could have imagined & we can’t thank Sergio enough for being a part of that. He captured such special moments that we didn’t even realize were so special to us until we saw the photos. A lot of people I know have looked back at their wedding day and wanted to change certain things and I think it is an amazing feeling to say we truly wouldn’t change a single thing & Sergio is the reason for that. -

Best Decision Ever
Henry was the most amazing human for this whole experience. My now husband a I are a little more introverted. I describe us as "indoor cats". We are not fans of our pictures getting taken.
Henry made us feel so comfortable and loved. He wasn't pushy or demanding. It took us very little time to feel comfortable in front of the camera and be able to let loose. Henry is the number one hype man, he is there to make you feel like the vert best version of yourselves. He might ask you to climb a rock, do a twirl while on the mountain side, or run in the water possibly getting wet but I assure you it's worth it.
We have only known Henry during this elopement experience but he made us feel like we were childhood friends just having a good time together.

Amazing Elopement Pictures!!
We loved working with Henry for our 7 year renewal of vows elopement photo shoot and adventure. Before Henry we were undecided on where we should go and how we would even start going about having our photoshoot. Henry provided us with a bunch of different awesome places we could try, and provided detail about locations and times of year that were best for each location. He really has a lot of inside knowledge about spots that will be busy and private at different times of the year and also knows a lot of secret places for amazing pictures.
We were nervous going into the process because of the cost, but after meeting with Henry several times on zoom we had a great idea of what we could expect from the process and we were excitedly awaiting our trip abroad several months later.
The day of was awesome. Henry was extremely nice and is a master of what he does. We took some very difficult photos with very little room for error and Henry nailed them. His artistic view is amazing, but you can already see that if you just look at his Instagram account (which I recommend doing). He thought ahead and brought a some props and hand warmers to keep us comfortable throughout the shoot. He gave my wife plenty of breaks to get warm since we were in a very cold environment.
We're awaiting the final photos now, but here are a few sneak peeks that Henry has already sent us. His pictures are amazing. He also does drone work which can get some crazy pictures you wouldn't normally be able to get.
Overall our experience with Henry was amazing and totally worth the money. Henry is also just personally an awesome person and I wouldn't mind hanging out with him again if our paths meet.... thanks a bunch Henry!!!! :) -

Best decision!
We are from Georgia and knew we wanted to get married in the PNW. We were initially thinking about Mt. Rainier but during our first conversation with Henry, he recommended a different location with much shorter hiking. We immediately felt like he was listening and wanted to help make our elopement perfect. And perfect is an understatement. Other than his immaculate work, Henry is the greatest hype man and encourager. Given that it was just my wife and I who were there and we both wanted a first look, Henry helped both of us get into our dresses and even helped put on skin tape. We had a small snafu of forgetting our bouquets at our Airbnb, but Henry was so patient and talked with us through the realization.
And the photos, are you kidding me? Henry got us sneak peeks the day following our elopement and I have not stopped looking at them since. I cannot begin to describe the overwhelming joy these pictures give me. As someone who was not sure that my love could ever be celebrated, Henry made sure to capture everything wonderful about my love. Every single person who I have shown the pictures to has had the same reaction - in just complete awe. Several have even stated they want to get married again just so they could work with Henry.
I would recommend Henry to anybody and everybody who is considering working with him. It was the best decision I ever made (other than marrying my wife)! -

As an elopement photographer myself, I was very picky & had high expectations when deciding who we wanted as our photographer. Henry was a no brainer for his amazing artistry, passion for photography, & expert knowledge. I needed someone who understood our vision & could bring it to life. Henry always believed in what we envisioned & was there to let us know it was 100% possible when most struggled to see the dream. Henry is an absolute master of his craft. My wife and I were lucky enough to have Henry photograph our day in Switzerland and it could not have been more perfect!! Our photos were OTHERWORLDLY!!! It was such a huge project to plan a day all the way across the world and Henry made us feel like everything was completely under control from the first phone call. We felt so comfortable in his ability to bring the craziness we had in our heads into reality— and Henry delivered in every conceivable way possible. If you’re looking for someone to photograph your elopement, look no further, you’ve found it. I can confidently say you can rest easy knowing you chose Henry Tieu Photography. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Sergio for our Yosemite elopement this past week. From the moment we got on our initial FaceTime meeting with Sergio, we felt at ease. He did a fantastic job learning about us as a couple, rather than just treating us like a business transaction. The whole process was absolutely seamless from start to finish. Although we live in California we were saving the beauty of Yosemite NP for our wedding day. Sergio was SO extremely helpful with providing us lists of housing, hair vendors, makeup vendors, food vendors, you name it. We found out a few months prior that our chosen ceremony location couldn’t accommodate our guest list. Sergio was so quick to send us other options. Which in turn worked out better than our original plan ❤️ about a month out he had a whole timeline written out for our wedding day. I can’t stress how much of a relief this was. Not to mention the stress it took off of us, knowing exactly what our day would look like from start to finish. It makes it much easier to coordinate a timeline for your friends & family if they are joining. The day of flew by like a flash. We went from camera shy to identifying as models ✨😂 Sergio felt like so much more than just a photographer. He was a friend. We felt so incredibly comfortable working with him. For people who are virtually never in front of the camera (zero social media) I couldn’t help but feel we looked the same in every photo. I’ll go ahead and be the first to tell you, IGNORE THIS FEELING. We got our sneak peeks a few days back, and when I tell you I was absolutely floored. The photos are beyond incredible. GORGEOUS. Something you would see on the cover of a magazine. I don’t think I’ve looked away since we opened the email. We could not be more thankful that we chose Sergio to capture our wedding day. Incredible Photographer
When we finally decided that a traditional wedding was not for us, we came across Henry Tieu Photography and were blown away by the incredible images depicting couples having the most amazing adventures. We knew that was exactly what we wanted! We decided that we would like to elope in a place that we had never been before, which of course comes with a whole host of challenges. From our first online meeting with Sergio he was kind, warm, and really wanted to get to know us as a couple. He helped us plan our whole day with multiple beautiful locations and gave us suggestions for vendors as well. On the day of the wedding he made us feel very relaxed which allowed us to truly enjoy the moment and marvel at our beautiful surroundings. Our entire experience with Sergio was absolute perfection. There are quite a few options out there when it comes to choosing an elopement photographer, and I am so grateful we made the best decision in choosing Sergio. What a total, complete gem of a human he is, along with his very obvious skills with a camera!
We were nervous about spending our 1:1 time with another person around, but if anything, Sergio enhanced that experience for us: making us laugh, sharing in our joy, and helping us to ensure we were capturing our day the way we wanted to.

Amazing elopement with Henry!
Holy cow! Our elopement was magical and it truly was a once in a lifetime experience, all thanks to Henry. My partner and I are introverted people who struggle to open up to new people and we were instantly put at ease whenever talking to Henry. He made us feel like we were besties from the start. Henry did all of this and beyond.
This lovely human being is by far the most amazing person you'll ever have photographing your wedding/engagement/whatever else you might be searching for. Please don't hesitate on him, it will be so worth it and you will fall in love with him and his work just as we have!
We had originally planned to hike to Tolmie Peak but I had two leg injuries the previous months. We had told Henry of this in one of our zoom calls, and he said we can work with whatever comes our way. Upon arriving at Mt. Rainier, my husband and I tried hiking a few small trails with a decent elevation and came to the realization that I was not capable of doing the planned Tolmie Peak hike. After telling Henry, he called right away and helped me feel so much better and said he had alternative locations that we could do. He immediately worked out a new timeline and we can’t thank him enough for being so flexible and just remarkable. Those alternative locations were so incredibly special and I can’t imagine our day being anywhere else.
Our time with Henry was so special. We wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It was everything we dreamed of and more.

Our experience working with Henry was fantastic from start to finish. From the moment we first spoke with him on Zoom we could feel his warmth and excitement for our wedding vision and love story. As a gay couple we connected instantly with Henry and felt comfortable being vulnerable throughout the planning process and on the morning of our portrait session and micro wedding ceremony.
We were lucky to have found Henry through a less than affirming experience with another vendor, who referred us to him. We instantly fell in love with his work and him and knew we had to reach out. Our initial conversation lasted over an hour (well beyond the 30 min projected time) as we talked about our love story and our early wedding ideas. Henry was vital in helping us to choose a location for the portrait session and wedding ceremony. He also provided help and guidance throughout our planning process, from timeline development to packing lists, to make sure our day went smoothly and our pictures turned out beautifully.
Not only is Henry a consummate professional and a very talented photographer, he is a genuinely warm and kind human being. Iceland Elopement
When my husband and I decided to elope our first idea was where could we have amazing pictures taken with a variety of landscapes. After a short search we found our person on Pinterest. We knew from day one of communication with Henry that he was legit and knowledgeable, as well as passionate about his career. Henry was there for us every step of the way from emails, FaceTime, to in person during our day. He is not only your photographer, but hype bff, looks out for you during the process, guides but doesn’t overstep, takes the lead if needed so you can be in the moment, and truly lives in that moment with you. His work speaks for itself (STUNNING), he spent hours the day prior scouting locations, really took the time to understand what our vision/wishes were for that special day and turned it all into magic. 10/10 recommend, you won’t have another experience like it :) -

Everything we dreamed of and more!
Our experience with Henry was nothing short of magical! It was a dream working with him from start to finish. He was always available to answer any questions we might have, jump on a call to go over everything and we always felt supported during the whole process.
Now our experience on the day was even more amazing! He made us feel so relaxed and comfortable and it was like an old friend photographing us. Not once did we feel we couldn’t be ourselves and that is the most magical gift a photographer can give a couple on their wedding day. As we chose to get married in the Arctic Circle, the weather wasn’t that stable and after hiking for an hour and releasing that the mountain was covered in clouds, we quickly pivoted to another location. Henry had not one back up, but three back up locations to ensure that our ceremony and picnic locations were beautiful and they were more amazing than we could have dreamed of. Although our day didn’t go perfectly to plan, Henry ensured it was still perfect and that alone is enough to hire him.
As wedding photographers ourselves, we knew straight away that Henry was our dream photographer and the photos did not disappoint, they are INSANE!!!! We have looked through them multiple times every day and cannot choose favourites (and this is only the sneak peek!). They are everything we dreamed of and more and we cannot wait to see the full gallery. He captured the raw, honest, most intimate moments of who we are and half the time we forgot he was even there.

Henry was - seriously - the best thing about our wedding besides my choice of spouse. I recall looking at some other elopement photographers when we decided to take on this adventure and BOY am I glad I didn't make the mistake of choosing anyone else.
He has, through the entire process, been a consummate professional and endlessly kind human being.
While I could probably write a long article describing the experience and all of the value he brought, I'll try to focus on some highlights:
- He was always clear and responsive in his communication back to me, but also proactive in communicating things at many points.
- He built rapport and connection with us in a way that felt very genuine.
- He was flexible with us as we changed our mind about things - dates, locations, timelines, etc. and made us feel like this was really about us.
- He thought of everything for us - all the little details - as we planned and on the day of our elopement.
- When fell even more in love with him when he shared more about his journey to this place in his life and career - such an inspiring story!
- Last but absolutely not least, his work - photos, GIFs, and GIF video of our vows were absolutely flawless and have been shared with friends of friends just because of how breathtaking they are.
Today we received a thank you card, polaroid, and framed image from our day together and it served as yet another example of how Henry Tieu is the absolute best of the best at what he does. Henry is such a kind and inviting person, we knew from the moment we met him that he was the person we wanted to photograph our elopement. He regularly shared information, especially in the couple of months prior to the big day. When we found out last minute that our ideal beach (for sunset photos) was shut down, he immediately sprung into action to find alternative options. He even scouted additional locations when he arrived to Kauai and ended up finding a spot that was so incredible. Wow! What an incredible experience it was working with Henry. I think part of why it took us so long to write this review was because of how difficult it is to describe how flawlessly seamless this experience was. From start to finish, Henry was nothing less than stellar. With our booking being so last minute in the calendar year, we were ecstatic when we received a prompt response from him letting us know that he would be able to fit us into his schedule. During our first meeting, he really took the time to hear our love story and understand our wants as a couple. He listened when it counted and took extra consideration of our preferences when suggesting locations. We really appreciated his approach to getting to know us and building a relationship that we can lean on to trust him to capture our special day exactly how we wanted it.
During the planning phase, Henry was thorough with building an itinerary and despite his busy schedule, he never made us feel like we were on the back burner. He ensured we understood every part of the decision making process, understood the proposed timeline, and made certain we were happy with each decision. He never made us feel hurried or pressured to make a decision, despite our tight timeline, and gave us ample time to consider all his options. He went out of his way to consider all variables leading up to our elopement like, weather, location, elderly guests, kids, travel time, etc. Just knowing that he’s already put in place alternative plans and covered all potential contingencies put our minds at ease and really allowed us to be in the moment.
Henry’s vision for photo composition and clean photo edits were the cherry on top with him. His style was everything we were looking for - detailed, stolen moments in time with a touch of moodiness to capture a dreamy elopement in wintery PNW. We aren’t the best when it comes to knowing how to pose for pictures but Henry didn’t skip a beat. He understood our awkwardness and ran with it. He allowed us to feel so normal that we completely forgot we were even being photographed. He treated us like one his closest friends and ensured a chill vibe during the photo sessions. The photos he put together for a sneak peek a few days after the wedding took our breath away. And with the final batch of photos that he delivered a few weeks after, we were able to relive this beautiful day with crystal clear detail.
Henry, the words don’t exist to express our thanks to you. Thank you so much spending the day with us and for sharing your amazing talent with us. It truly means the world to us that we can look through this album and relive this perfect day. You will be forever a part of our lives and these pictures will continue to remind us of where our married journey began.

Henry was fun, polite, organized, and most importantly professional.
He helped guide our timeline along the way with checklists, checkpoints, what to expect, and a slew of other related resources. All of this made up one of the best days of our lives!
From the timing on our timeline to turnaround time for sneak peek shots, it was executed to the tee and quickly. Henry was also able to squeeze in additional shots where he found time and we have no regrets in following those ideas.
It was fun hearing his prior experiences in his personal life that helped pave his way to what he does now, which is absolutely killer photography.

We knew we wanted Henry as our photographer as soon as we saw his photos! We were so excited that he had a date available that worked with our Washington elopement. He definitely exceeded our expectations and was more than just a photographer. We were unsure on where we wanted to get married in WA and he found the perfect place that had stunning views and was easily accessible for our parents. The views for our post ceremony hike were even better! He did an amazing job at taking in what we envisioned for our wedding and making it come true. We had an early morning ceremony followed by brunch and as soon as we mentioned wanting a cinnamon cake, he knew exactly the place. The place we got our cinnamon bun cake lead us to our floral arrangements. We loved that we were able to celebrate our wedding with all local WA vendors! Me and my husband are pretty camera shy but he made everything feel so natural while capturing the special moments of our wedding. Communication was great from beginning to end. It started with a FaceTime call to lock down certain details and he kept in touch/checked in on us as our wedding got closer. He helped create the perfect timeline and timed our first look at peak time for alpenglow! Plus he was so fun to hangout with and talk to throughout the day! Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! If you’re thinking of booking him, do it! You won’t regret it!

Dreams Come True
No matter the words I type - I want you to take the time to go look at his work. Henry was our dream wedding photographer and being able to work with him is something we will forever be grateful for.
Where to begin - Henry was everything we didn't know we needed and everything we knew we needed. From the very beginning, I could see the passion and care that he brought to the table. Henry took a dream that we had in our heads and made it a reality. We got married in Hawaii and there are a ton of regulations and laws around marriage/photography there - Henry was on top of everything and kept us up to date through the entire process.
Every time we look back on our wedding pictures we are so extremely happy with them and how our day turned out. If you are trying to decide if Henry is the right photographer for you - just know he will take care of you every step of the way and capture some jaw-dropping photos as well. -

I'm not sure there are words to truly articulate what it's like to work with Henry, but I'm going to do my best because THE WORLD deserves to know how incredible Henry is. A rare, beautiful mind backed up by insane artistic talent.
We got married in the Canadian Rockies, and we came into the planning process knowing that we should expect the unexpected when it came to weather. It could be sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy...no way to know. We just had to mentally prepare ourselves and literally plan for any of the above. This uncertainty is why we ultimately decided to work with Henry. Regardless of weather conditions, Henry creates MAGIC for his couples. Knowing this created peace of mind throughout the planning process and our actual time with Henry.
From our initial meeting with Henry to planning to our actual wedding, Henry was a dream. He was extremely communicative, helped scout the perfect locations (taking into account our personal limitations), shared so many helpful resources, and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Henry is thoughtful, intentional, and put in the time/heart to build a genuine relationship with us. He met up with us multiple times leading up to the wedding to share laughs, life stories, and good food. This was incredibly helpful and meaningful in terms of comfort in front of the camera...we're not models...but we had Henry making us feel comfortable and beautiful. This shone through in our incredible photos. Henry also handled getting all the necessary approvals and permits, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. I can't emphasize enough the importance of this.
Our biggest problem is figuring out which photos to print and frame because we have so many incredible ones...and this is just from our sneaks! We know there are so many more breathtaking photos to come in our final gallery.

It is clear that Henry is an expert in his field. This shows on the day of the elopement, but also in the months and days leading up to it as well
as those that follow. Before the elopement, Henry gave us a checklist that was extremely helpful for planning. He recommended vendors to us. He provided us with a comprehensive document and helped us to pick a list of locations. He was available anytime that we had a question and was always very patient. After our elopement day, he provided us with sneak peeks almost immediately. These pictures nearly blew us away.
Henry has a special ability to see beyond the picture and right into the essence of the people that he photographs. His care and talent is unmatched. If you are looking for a photographer, no need to look any further - Henry is the best! -

When we were looking for a photographer, my biggest concern was that we would be too awkward for our love to translate to photos. My partner feels uncomfortable hugging or holding hands in public, it only worsens if you point a camera at us. Top photographers' websites had beautiful, model proportioned, twenty year old couples in natural poses with captions like "for the most discerning and fashionable couples." Were we discerning or fashionable enough? We don't look like that. How do I pose, where do my hands go and what do I do with my face? I didn't feel prepared. I picked Henry because he put less emphasis on "fashionable" and instead, focused on real people being their real selves with each other, and capturing that in an authentic way.
Henry helped us feel so comfortable during our wedding day. We were jittery and nervous, but he gave us tips to help us relax and interact naturally in front of the camera.
He really brought a great creative energy to the day where it felt like nothing could go wrong because he could make amazing images from any situation. For example: it rained in the morning, and that was perfect because he had an incredible idea for it; it was crazy windy and the waves were ridiculous for the ceremony, but that made for dramatic drone photos and the light was great for what he wanted; our cab driver in Kyoto only spoke Japanese and wanted to leave, but Henry somehow convinced him to stay to backlight our photos on a charming street because "it will totally be worth it." I have only seen sneaks of our shoot, and it totally was worth it, they're unreal. The whole time, he switched lenses and messed with settings on his camera. It takes a very skilled and confident photographer to be able see the creative opportunities in a chaotic, uncontrolled environment, and embrace spontaneity. He was so adept at adapting to unknowns.
When we decided to elope in Japan, they had some of the strictest entry requirements: visas, proof of vaccination, and a registered tour guide. Henry gave us the option to postpone our elopement at no charge until requirements were relaxed. You can trust that even though you sign a contract with him, he will treat you reasonably and fairly, which was comforting especially with the changing Covid scene.
Henry does his homework. When we still went forward with our plan for Japan, he did all the paperwork to enter, and scouted out the photoshoot sites in advance. When a site had fewer than anticipated photo opportunities, he approached a beautiful temple close by to get permission to take additional photos there. It's important to me to work with a photographer that I can trust to respect places of worship in another country and ask in advance for permission to take photos or use a drone.
My only advice is to plan early and in advance with him. When Henry is travelling for a different wedding, he may not be as responsive. That also means that when it's your elopement day, he will give you 100 percent of his attention. He won't juggle your day and emails.
I had very high expectations for my wedding experience and photos. My wedding day exceeded all my expectations and it will always be a very special memory. A photographer can make or break that day, especially if you're travelling with them to another country and if there are a lot of variables and expectations. Henry was a big part of making that day wonderful. He's funny when you're nervous and a calming presence, he's also a skilled photographer that will climb windows and do what it takes to get the perfect shot for you. We really loved our experience with him. -

We have nothing but positive things to say about Henry and working with him over the last year of planning our Mt Rainier elopement. He is such a wealth of information and has so many resources for everything you could possibly need for your day. He responds thoroughly and within a timely manner and really goes above and beyond to make sure you get everything you envisioned. My husband and I have never really taken photos together, let alone professional photos, so we were nervous and anxious about the day and how the photos would turn out. But Henry eased us into it and made everything feel so natural and comfortable. We had so much fun, and the photos are absolutely amazing. More beautiful than we even imagined. Our intimate micro wedding was EVERYTHING and it would not have been the same without Sergio by our side. From our initial Facetime meeting we knew that we had made the right decision to have Sergio capture our special day. He was so personable, relatable, and knowledgeable. The more we spoke with him he put our minds at ease about having a small intentional wedding day with a few of our loved ones.
The day of our wedding was so much fun and smooth sailing. He felt like part of our family the entire day. We adored our sneaks and look forward to seeing the rest! The only regret that we have is that our time spent together wasn't long enough! Working with Henry Tieu is an ABSOLUTE DREAM. From the very beginning of planning our elopement, it felt like a partnership. Henry was so intentional about getting to know us and making sure we were always comfortable. He was caring, kind, professional, and friendly. We knew instantly we’d made the right choice in choosing him for our photographer.
Henry’s communication is truly outstanding. We always knew what the next steps were, and he shared so many helpful resources to help us prepare for our elopement. He also provided us with phenomenal recommendations for elopement planners, florals, cake, hair and makeup, and where to stay.
On our day, Henry went above and beyond to ensure we always felt safe, beautiful, and excited!! It felt MAGICAL. Henry was more than a photographer. He was also our friend, guide, and hype man!
We got “sneak peeks” SO quickly, and we are completely in love with them! Henry captured us, the day, and how we felt so perfectly. The photos are INCREDIBLE. He is truly an artist and worked so hard to get the most amazing shots.

the best experience we could have asked for
It’s hard to truly put into words a proper thank you for someone whose documented your love in such a special, intentional, and beautiful way. I don’t feel words can do justice to match up to the magic that is Henry Tieu. We hired Henry years ago, when we first got engaged — because after knowing we were going to get married, we also KNEW we had to have Henry as our photographer. We were lucky enough to get to work with him, to have his guidance, easy & smooth communication, and his friendship on our side through the planning process. He made it all SO easy. He stuck with us through postponements, venue changes, and overall location and idea changes. And when we met on our wedding day for the first time in real life, it felt like we were catching up with a close friend. He instantly made us feel comfortable, made us feel like being in front of the camera was a natural habitat for us (when in fact it was far from our usual!) and he made it so easy to be ourselves in front of him. To be honest, we never even read his reviews when we hired him, because his previous work, all the articles featuring his work, his Instagram posts, his gif videos, and his captions did it all for us. We knew Henry was special from the start - that his work was unmatched by any photographer’s we had seen before, and also, we knew our values aligned. When jess and I planned our wedding, we wanted every detail, every choice to be intentional. And when we knew Henry was also part of the LGBTQ+ community, when we knew he stood up for human rights, when he was part of the health professional community, when he advocated for COVID vaccines, it was truly the easiest decision in the world to want to work together (and be his friend!) When you’re part of the queer community, you understand the deep need to feel safe and seen — and working with someone like Henry, did just that.
We hired him for two days, our actual wedding day, and then more last minute added on an adventure shoot post-wedding day, and that was the BEST decision. When we met the second day (literally less than 24 hours since our wedding the night prior) he delivered a TON of wedding sneak peaks for us to go through, and they brought us to tears. He captured my wife’s joy, our families tears, and our friends laughter. He captured our love, the way we looked at one another, and the depth of our care for eachother. In just under 100 photos of sneak peaks, he showed us our love through his lens and our loved ones eyes and it truly all made sense.
Our wedding & honeymoon is now over, and we’re waiting with the upmost excitement to see the rest of the gallery, the day after photoshoot, and our gif video, but we already know this to be true — Henry was the best person for the job, the photographer we will recommend to every person we possibly can, and the friend we will thank for decades to come when we reminiscence on our special days, when we look back at these photos, and show our wedding video to future kids & to each other and relish in the joy that is being married.

Henry is the best!
We booked Henry before we were even engaged! We knew that we had to have him document our elopement, and we didn’t want to risk him not being available for our Mount Rainier date in August. Our wedding was only a few days ago, but he has already gotten us so many “sneak peeks” back to share with loves ones. We couldn’t imagine a better photographer/planner/friend all wrapped in one! Henry took so much stress away by helping us through the entire planning process, giving recommendations, and of course hyping us up the entire time. We wouldn’t have made it through the hike without him! Overall, we are so grateful we could share our special day with such a wonderful and fun person. Every aspect of working with Henry was beyond our expectations. Despite my best efforts, I can’t sufficiently convey just how amazing the experience of working with Henry was, and how much we love the photos he captured of our elopement. Henry is more than just a photographer – he was there for me and my husband for every step of the process - from choosing our location, to our wedding attire, to planning the activities throughout the day, Henry gave lots of thoughtful advice, sent us amazing vendor recommendations, and made sure that we were confident and comfortable with every decision we made.
When you have a small wedding/elopement, it’s really important that the photographer allows you to be yourself – to let loose, not only so that you’re calm and confident in the photos, but also so that you can have the best day of your life – and Henry, being a down-to-Earth, open person (and having lots of skill and experience with couples on their wedding day), did exactly that, and it shows in every photo and in our memories.
The photos Henry took during our elopement made us and our families cry happy tears. We’re completely blown away by how beautifully Henry was able to capture our love and emotions. We’ve received many compliments from friends and family that Henry’s photos are the most beautiful wedding pictures they’ve ever seen, and that our love and joy radiate through each one.

Best day ever
Henry was instrumental in one of the best days of my life. He was able to squeeze my wife and I into his business schedule.
He helped me choose a suit color that would look best in our chosen destination and was always just a text or email away, even while he was galavanting across Italy or Iceland doing other adventure elopements.
From the moment Henry got to our Airbnb, he went to work finding the best lighting and angles for our getting ready photos. He made our rings and other memorabilia look fantastic as well.
We were a little worried that we would be awkward in the photos but the sneak peaks he sent us floored us with how amazing they looked. Needless to say, we will be booking him in the future for our vow renewals and recommend him to everyone who asks. You will not go wrong. -

When I got engaged the most exciting part of planning was choosing a photographer. The minute I came across Henry's work, I knew that I wanted him to capture our big day not just because his work is absolutely breathtaking, but because he works with and highlights ALL love stories and equally showcases them on his page.
Getting to work with and meet him was so surreal. What I loved most about working with him was how calm he was. Even though we were behind schedule (which is normal) he never rushed us and he really made sure we were enjoying ourselves and savoring every moment.

You can't find a more talented, kind, and fun photographer than Henry! I found him via instagram as someone I follow hired him for her wedding and his talent was jaw dropping. I knew instantly that when it came time to plan our elopement, he was going to be the first person we called. From the very first time my husband and I spoke with him, we knew he was the one we wanted to share our day with and trust to capture it in the most magical way possible. Henry helped us with every detail, he was always easy to communicate with whenever we had questions, and he helped to make our day virtually stress free. On the actual day of our elopement, it was as though we were seeing a friend after a long time gap. My husband had never been professionally photographed and is an introvert but he said it took no time at all for him to feel at complete ease with Henry and being photographed. One of my favorite parts of working with Henry the day of was how excited he got during the day knowing he captured some awesome photos. We were already having so much fun and excited but his visible display of excitement made our excitement multiply x100! Then, not even 24hrs after we said our goodbye, we got sneak peak pics!! What wizardy is that even! And good lord were the sneak peak pics GORGEOUS! I can't wait to see the fully gallery, I don't know how our hearts will be able to handle reliving the best day of our lives. Henry is Absolutely Brilliant!
Our experience working with Henry was absolutely fantastic, from the first message we exchanged to the final delivery of our gorgeous photos. We were so lucky to work with him over the course of several months for both our adventure engagement and wedding photos. Despite his busy schedule, he was very good at following up with us through the entire journey and never made us feel like an afterthought.
A quick look at Henry’s portfolio reveals unmistakable artistry, and an expressive ability to capture a couple’s most poignant moments on their special day. While his work speaks for itself, we need to underscore how wonderful the artist behind the portfolio is. Henry is a kind-hearted, empathetic person with an amazing sense of humor who we’re lucky to call a friend. For those unfamiliar with being in front of a lens, Henry so earnestly tries to hype you up for “your day,” making frolicking on a cliff side feel like the only natural option. During our times with him, he would lend us gentle suggestions that were easy to follow and wouldn’t disrupt the connection between the two of us. His presence and patient encouragement made us feel so comfortable and natural during our time together, and those beautiful, authentically candid moments he captured were a result of his nurturing direction.
Photographing in the Pacific Northwest comes with the challenge of working with unpredictable weather. It takes a skilled photographer to handle this, and Henry absolutely stepped up to the occasion on our wedding day in mid-November, when wind and rain (unsurprisingly) impacted our plans. Henry closely tracked the weather radar maps as the day unfolded, and he had alternate settings ready to suggest as a contingency plan when we inevitably needed to change course, while staying mindful of the limitations of remaining daylight. These originally unplanned settings that Henry recommended resulted in the most beautiful photos which immediately became our favorites.
Lastly, in this day and age, it needs to be mentioned how nice it was to work with someone who embraces diversity and actively showcases it in his portfolio, which provides insight into his admirably welcoming character. We’re uniquely fortunate and lucky to have met someone who is not only supremely talented, but also a wonderful person on the inside. It was a gift to work with Henry, and we the images he captured of our day will be treasured for generations. Thank you Henry!!! -

I found Henry by chance when I was reading web articles about destination elopements. I was so mesmerized by the beautiful photographs that accompanied one of the articles, that I ended up doing some research on the photographer - Henry Tieu. Months of continuing to look at all of my options reaffirmed that having Henry on my wedding team was absolutely necessary as no one else even came close to the same quality he produced. He made the process so easy and stress-free from first contact up until the wedding day. My husband and I instantly felt comfortable around Henry and Viet, which was so important since we were spending the most important day of our lives with them! Henry went above and beyond to get beautiful shots, make us feel like movie stars, and personalize our experience. Henry is worth every penny!!! We cannot recommend him enough. Our day was smooth only because of his professionalism and ability to adapt to some minor hiccups (terrible weather, delays and a bride and groom who were a little too relaxed 🤣)
He is not only the most amazing human I've ever met, but he truly is a master in his craft.
Firstly Henry is an expert on running the day smoothly. We had a few minor complications but he had then sorted and adapted the day with no sweat on my behalf. If you are a high stress person he will have you the calmest you've ever felt in your life.
Secondly Henry truly loves what he does and it shows. He was passionate and excited for us all day. Helping us pose and chase the light for the amazing photos we were after. He had the ability to make us feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera (something neither of us are) whilst creating beautiful art in his own style -

Henry was magic to our special day
I don't even know where to begin in describing the wonderful experience that was working with Henry. My Fiancé and I had seen Henry's work via his Instagram @Henrysdiary and immediately fell in love with his storytelling through his lens. My fiancé and I are both so socially awkward but Henry allows you to feel comfortable through the entire process. When choosing Henry you aren't just choosing your photographer for a special day, you're welcoming this amazing BRILLIANT man who dedicates his time and his magic to ensure your day is as AMAZING as it can be. Henry's magic shines through his work but getting to experience it first hand left us both speechless and so very thankful to have met and entrusted him in telling our love story. We are set for our fall elopement next year and we CANNOT wait to get to spend more time with Henry. -
