As a mother of the bride I would highly recommend Heather Farr Events for your wedding. Not only was Heather amazing for the bride and groom, but the real bonus is that she took away the work that so many of the parents end up doing during and at the end of the wedding reception. Both sets of parents decided hiring HFE was one of the best decisions we made.
During the early months Heather helped us develop a plan of action and a wedding day timeline. She provided vendor suggestions (who were absolutely amazing) and coordinated hotel accommodations. While we wanted to do some of the planning ourselves, Heather was always quick to answer questions or give suggestions as needed. She is so delightful and did everything she could to make this a great process for the bride and groom. We met with Heather a few times in person and she is so fun. During the last few weeks before the wedding she also confirmed all of our vendors, timelines, etc for us. Heather facilitated the wedding rehearsal and made sure everyone understood that on the wedding day all questions/concerns should be directed to her so that the bride and groom could enjoy their day.
The wedding day was PERFECT! Heather is truly the best and she made sure the whole day ran smoothly. The bride and groom were smiling the entire day! The parents of the bride and groom were also smiling all day because guess what? WE were able to enjoy the day and evening too. Heather and her team took care of, and packed up, EVERYTHING leaving us to enjoy the day with our children and guests. I would not hesitate to hire Heather and team again. In fact, we already have for our next daughter's wedding in the fall. Thanks, HFE! Can't wait. -

Heather was truly the heart and soul of our wedding day! From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make everything seamless, joyful, and stress-free. She kept everyone on track with warmth and professionalism, making sure the day flowed perfectly. What impressed us most was how she thought of every detail—big and small—and even stayed to clean up so we could simply soak in the magic of the day. We used Heather's partial planning service for our wedding and everything turned out beautifully. She was there for us from the beginning of wedding planning all the way through the day after the wedding. Her guidance and advice throughout the wedding planning process was indispensable. She was always very responsive and answered any of the questions we had. We almost had a disaster with our desserts on the day of the wedding but she handled calmly and professionally. She even drove to get us a new cutting cake when ours arrived completely melted! Our wedding would not have gone as smoothly without Heather's help. -

We truly don’t have enough words to describe how incredible the HFE team is. They made our wedding day feel like a fairytale, even through unexpected chaos (iykk). When our original venue unexpectedly shut down, Heather stepped in right away with such calm and steady reassurance. Even though we only had the day-of coordination package, she went way beyond that—helping us find a new venue that very same day. With only two months left until our May wedding, we honestly didn’t know how we would pull it off, but Heather held our hand through it all and made us believe our wedding would still come together, no matter what. She reached out to her network across Milwaukee’s wedding community to find us every venue available on our same wedding date, giving us the peace of mind we desperately needed. By then, Heather and her team weren’t just planners to us — they felt like family, and sometimes even our therapists.
On our wedding day, our lead planner, Shannon, took my very large (and probably overwhelming!) binder and brought the vision to life even better than we could have imagined. Because of her attention to detail and the way she ran everything behind the scenes, the whole day felt effortless—we were able to be fully present and soak up every second. Even I (the bride!) was able to relax and let go, which says a lot! And Jenna ran our rehearsal so smoothly—she was organized, clear, and made everyone feel at ease heading into the big day. The whole team made us feel so supported, cared for, and celebrated from start to finish. Thanks to them, our wedding wasn’t just beautiful—it was truly the wedding of our wildest dreams. -

We hired Heather for partial planning and day-of coordination and could not have been happier working with her! She was an amazing resource during the planning process and a critical piece on our wedding day to ensure that everything was seamless.
During the planning process, Heather kept us on track and organized and provided excellent insight on vendors and ideas to bring our vision to life. We also had a lot of questions about utilizing our budget in an impactful way and etiquette in general, and Heather was responsive and patient with everything we threw her way and made the planning process much more enjoyable.
The day-of coordination was incredible and I felt so confident knowing that Heather and her team had everything covered. Heather assisted with everything that we planned for and the unexpected - from helping with the ceremony rehearsal to making sure every detail at the reception was just right, to saving the day with a safety pin. She handled it all like such a pro. The best part was that my husband and I, our family members, and the wedding party did not have to worry about a thing a just got to enjoy the day. Heather is everything I wanted and more in a wedding planner - a strong network and reputation in the area, expertise on budgeting and timelines, and so much heart. We hired her for full-service coordination and for 18 months, she was committed to making our dream day come true. She’d give me a small and manageable list of tasks to tackle each month and would work with me each step of the way sourcing vendors, reviewing contracts and making decisions. I found her vendor sourcing especially helpful - I’d share what I was looking for and how much that service “mattered” to me, and she’d circle back with a proposed % of my overall budget + a few vendor recommendations. Then as the big day approached, I noticed her help and appreciated her excitement even more. She set up meetings I didn’t even know I should be having in order to ensure all our vendors were in sync. She helped me with local pick-ups since I didn’t live in the area. She took on extra tasks during our wedding weekend like ensuring all guests were abiding by our COVID safety policies. And then the day of the wedding - it was truly the best feeling in the world to know that she would take care of everything. Even when rain emerged out of nowhere 30 minutes before the ceremony, I was able to enjoy that time with my bridal party and fiance while Heather helped coordinate moving everything indoors. She handled all my day-of decor and tip distribution during the event, and she kept everyone on track and was my eyes and ears making sure the day was perfect. She and her assistant Rachel were prompt, professional and a joy to work with. I am so proud to support an independent, woman-owned business, and Heather’s work was tireless and exceptional. Buyer beware -
I think that hiring a wedding planner is worth doing, but whatever you do, do not hire this one.
For both of our sakes, I'll keep this short.
Everybody wants to reflect on their wedding day in a positive manner, but it is impossible for me to not wonder what could have been had the wedding planner we hired been competent.
Any criticism of her services after the fact will be told on deaf ears - a complete waste of time.
Here is an example of both her incompetence and unwillingness to take responsibility for a mistake that she personally made -
We had our wedding outdoors, and there are 2 paths that can be taken into the ceremony space. During the rehearsal, everybody agreed that we were to do a receiving line on the left pathway after the ceremony and the guests would go along the left pathway to see the bridge and scenary.
But after the ceremony, when we were ready to greet everybody and do the receiving line on the left pathway, guests were already leaving on the right pathway. Heather Farr was 10 feet from that pathway and did nothing to redirect the traffic towards the receiving line. After receiving criticism for this, she claims that this is a mistake made with "shared responsibility". I laughed out loud when I saw that. Here is her response -
Areas that we believe are a shared responsibility:
● Guests going wrong way after ceremony and entering the venue early - We’re very
sorry this occurred. Once guests began heading in that direction, it became challenging to
redirect them, and they likely would have entered the building early regardless of the path
taken. In our experience, many venues handle this by keeping doors locked until the
appropriate time, which helps prevent early entry and allows for proper setup. Without
that option, it was difficult for us to manage setup while guests were already inside trying
to find seating, use the restrooms, or get settled. While guests may have gone the wrong
way initially, that wasn’t the main reason they entered the building early—the restrooms
being inside made it unavoidable for some. As coordinators, we aren’t in a position to
deny guests access to the building, especially for restroom use, as that falls under venue
management. We did politely ask guests to step back outside and let them know we
weren’t quite ready yet, but unfortunately, this was not very effective. We did the best we
could but we do also think the venue could have helped prevent the guests coming in
early.
There's so much nonsense in this response. Heather Farr does not specialize in wedding planning - she specializes in gaslighting and redirection.
I would advise against hiring this company under any circumstance.
