Emily is, without a doubt, the most talented and capable event planner we’ve ever worked with. She made the wedding planning process an absolute blast. (I can’t tell you how many friends gawk when we tell them that wedding planning was…fun.) If you’re looking to create an event that’s immersive, unforgettable, and (wait for it) on budget, look no further.
Some of the many highlights of working with Emily:
- We rented out a small resort in Palm Springs for the wedding. That meant that a single venue had to execute on several fronts: hospitality, guest services, food, liquor, setup, etc. The venue wouldn’t have been able to pull off our flawless event without Emily and her team. They came in and picked up slack without a word. If there was drama behind the scenes, we never knew about it; Emily is that good.
- Emily’s network of vendors is spectacular. We hired every single vendor she introduced us to, including photographer, bakery, floral and rentals. This is a HUGE overlooked point of stress in planning a wedding. Navigating tons of quotes, levels of service, and disclaimers is not fun. Emily made it fun. She curated the best vendors for our vibe and budget. (She also has excellent taste which meant we were comfortable deferring to her judgment whenever we were over it.)
- The night before the wedding, our families were meant to assemble gift bags which would be distributed to guests upon check in. We were unable to finish the gift bags before our first welcome party started. Emily drove to our pre-wedding Airbnb, loaded hundreds of semi-completed gift bags into her car, and took care of it without a word. The bags were magically ready and distributed the next day. Again: this could have been a major stressor at the outset of our wedding, and Emily transformed that stress into delight.
Seriously. Hire. This. Wedding. Planner. You will thank yourself a hundred times over. Emily will turn your vision into a reality, hit your budget, and make you laugh every step of the way. She is the reason that planning and attending our wedding was a spectacular experience. Thank you, Emily! -

Where do I even begin? I LITERALLY can not gush about Emily enough and I don’t know that my review can do how amazing she is justice, but I’m going to try. I knew I wanted to hire her before I was even engaged. I’d worked with her on weddings as a vendor in the past and she has always been great to work with from that side, and our experience with her as our planner was no different. Emily is, hands down, one of the best wedding planners I know. She runs a tight ship and is incredibly straightforward, efficient, and knowledgable. Her eye for design is unmatched. I talk about our MASSIVE mood board that she put together for us constantly because it was absolutely incredible and helped give not only us, but our vendors a clear look into what we were planning and what our design vision was for our wedding day (this was my favorite part). Her budget management system was absolutely everything and helped us stay on track, and she even had a 3D floorpan for us to work with when it came to table assignments that was so easy to work with. She put together a thorough timeline for our wedding day, and walked through that timeline with us and our vendors and made sure everyone was on the same page. She took these tasks that could have felt like climbing Mount Everest to complete and made them easy and manageable for us. I thought I would be the *chill bride* after having been in the wedding industry for nearly 13 years, but after having an all-day mental breakdown over table linens and what colors I liked best, I knew I was not the chill vibes I aspired to be. Emily walked me through and kept me calm throughout this particular mental breakdown in addition to the entire planning process *while also* making sure that I felt heard and understood . She talked me down off of so many ledges and even took things off of my hands when they felt like too much (like figuring out and booking hotel blocks). Within 48-72 hours of our wedding, we ran into a number of little fires (as every wedding does, I’m sure) that Emily seamlessly put out without missing a beat. As I was running around and stuffing our car for the trip to our hotel, Emily was having extra menus that were missed overnighted from our designer in Michigan, handling rentals arrivals, managing our vendors, and then even running through our ceremony rehearsal via facetime since myself, my husband, MoH and parents were stuck in gridlock traffic. On the day of, my husband and I were SO comfortable with Emily running the show and everything ran perfectly. She never gave off anything but a relaxed and professional energy (I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have calm and collected folks surrounding you) and my family and bridal party loved her, too. I can not imagine planning or having our wedding day without her and I can’t imagine how chaotic things would have been without her. I would hire Emily 100 times over. I adore her and we can not thank her enough for everything she has done for us -

Emily at Heartthrob helped us navigate our covid-delayed wedding for two years with the flexibility, professionalism, and patience of a saint. She is organised, easy to communicate with, and extremely skilled at her job. We've already recommended her to other couples but if you're in the LA area you will not find a better, or more courteous, planner. -

It's been two weeks since our dream-come-true Heartthrob elopement and we're still pinching ourselves. Our proposal took place in August, followed by all of the pre-planning phases of a "normal" wedding. It didn't take long to realize that, no matter how much planning we might do, or how much money we might drop, these are not "normal" times. So rather than wait for something uncertain and wildly expensive a year or more down the line, we decided to jump at the opportunity to work with Heartthrob and their all-star team of vendors and collaborators to create the perfect, covid-safe experience for us and our closest family and friends. It was an absolute dream come true in every way, honestly. From the flowers to the venue to the cake to the photography to the wedding planning/day-of event management, everything was included in the (very reasonable) price and far exceeded expectations. Emily was so helpful, communicative, and professional throughout. And we made all of it happen in under a month!! We are forever grateful for this experience. If you are a couple who's looking to turn the odd circumstances in which we find out world into a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something intimate, magical, and surprising with your special day, please do yourselves a favor and book Heartthrob. --Alex & Ty -

Heartthrob Weddings was absolutely essential for us. Not only because Emily planned two and a half weddings for us, but because without her - we wouldn’t have had anywhere near the wedding we had. It was absolutely perfect, and beyond our wildest dreams. She guided us through the entire process, from start to finish, and then some.
She threw my friend one of the most beautiful weddings I had ever seen, and Heartthrob came highly, highly recommended by her. I had to meet with her and once I did, I knew I needed her help!
At the beginning, she helped us to feel comforted and secure - the wedding planning process is heavy and intimidating! During the thick it, her outlines and super thoughtful guidance helped keep us on track and free of stress. I always felt we were on top of it - thanks to her.
By the end of it, on wedding day, Emily and her team handled all the vendors, guided the guests (and our wild wedding party), and we were left to simply enjoy our day - carefree.
I really cannot stress enough how valuable Emily was for to us and our wedding. It goes beyond what words can explain! I would recommend her to anyone, anytime, for any event. -

To recommend Emily as the best wedding planner in the world does not do her justice. She is phenomenal. Here are a few reasons why:
Planning a wedding is a difficult undertaking that many of us take for granted - do not make this mistake. Emily took the lifting oar for finding and coordinating vendors, balancing our budget, and recommending options we would never have found ourselves. When Covid hit and forced us to make endless changes to every bit of the 100-person event Emily had almost fully planned, she pivoted seamlessly without missing a beat. She offered the perfect balance of expertise and support that accommodated our fears, guest list, and some very difficult issues with one of our vendors. To us, the quality of her services was invaluable.
In my prolonged 1.5-year wedding planning experience, I found Emily to be a one-of-a-kind professional and human being. Not only is she exceptional at her job as a wedding planner, she makes it look easy and executes flawlessly. Last minute wedding-day emergency? No problem. Dog needs water and some extra love during the ceremony? She got it covered. You'd expect her to have 10 hands for her incredible ability to multitask with amazing precision.
Most importantly, Emily went the extra mile again and again (and again and again) to make us feel like a priority in each conversation, which brought a comfort and joy that no money can buy. Emily built trust early and often, and boy did she deliver (just ask any of our guests!). Given Emily’s professionalism, diligence, and extensive experience in the wedding industry, it was no surprise that she pulled off a jaw dropping event for our closest family and friends. I cannot thank her enough for being my wedding planner, confidant, and friend during such an important moment in my life. She is a true gem in every sense of the word.
Do yourself a favor and take the stress out of wedding planning so you can truly enjoy what matters. Putting this day in Emily's capable hands is one of the best decisions you can make.

The Amazing Emily
Where do I start?? Maybe with the fact that my wedding would have been worse than Fyre Festival without Emily? Or that I may have been in a mental institution without her? Emily was such a huge part of our gorgeous/fun/amazing/relaxing (???) wedding that I cannot recommend her enough!!! I will admit, a wedding planner was something that we didn’t think of right away but boy am I glad we decided to hire one. Using an app like The Knot is fine but it does not replace a human and there are so many details to think about that it can feel overwhelming and daunting. We quickly realized that we were clueless about all the work that goes into planning and Emily made it super easy and pretty fun (even during the seating chart 😊) We had a 14 month engagement and Emily was there every step of the way (I think she works 25 hours a day), from picking a venue, dealing with vendors, telling me when I should breathe and when I should decide on the color for table linens. She takes out all the guesswork and stress that comes from planning a huge event and reminds you of how special and exciting this time is. Another thing that I didn’t realize when we hired her is that she comes with a TON of vendor contacts so you don’t have to scour Yelp for chair rentals or photo booths or tents in case it rains (because yes, there was rain and who the heck even knows where to find a tent at a week’s notice??) She was even able to get us discounts because of her existing relationships! Who doesn’t love that? I could go on and on but I won’t. Do yourself a massive favor and hire Emily the minute you get engaged and you will be so glad you did! -

Emily is a genius! She was so helpful and present for our entire (year plus) wedding planning process and was invaluable on the day of. She's super aware of the industry and has a lot of great contacts and suggestions. She has great taste and was good at suggesting things she knew we would like. She was calm and organized on the day of, and it all went perfectly.
We're a gay couple and it was so wonderful to have a queer wedding planner who could recommend other queer vendors and totally understood that we didn't want a traditional wedding. It made a huge difference. All the advice she gave us - including the importance of certain things I thought I could skimp on or avoid - was spot on and led to a literally perfect day. All our guests keep saying it was their favorite wedding ever. We love you Emily!!! -

Emily is straight up THE BEST.
I had a few calls with other planners but didn't really feel like I clicked with anyone. But after speaking with Emily for our initial phone call, I knew I wanted to work with her. I was so excited about working with her after one call, I immediately referred her to another girlfriend who was getting married before me, and she hired her too!
Emily is not only super professional, organized and talented, but she made wedding planning fun. I wasn't super into traditional bridal and wedding aesthetics and she never tried to get me to change my mind about anything. She was easy to collaborate with and takes your vision and serves it up on a diamond encrusted platter and it's even better than what you could have imagined!
I was beyond happy with how everything turned out, from the florals, the table settings, her music referral, the food... everything was A+ and it was all thanks to Emily taking my vision and adding her magic to it.
She is SUPER on top of everything, keeps you updated with every detail and is honestly just so fun to be around, I'm going to miss talking to her like everyday. The only mistake you'd make in your wedding planning process would be to NOT hire Emily. If you want a stress free, FUN, magical time then do yourself a favor a hire this queen.
Honestly can't say enough great things.

Emily with Heartthrob Weddings was incredible. We initially were looking for just a day-of wedding planner but once we realized how much help Emily would truly be, we ended up hiring her for everything for the last 4 months before the wedding. Emily helped us to stay within our budget, support queer friendly vendors, and attempt to have somewhat of an environmentally sustainable wedding. On the actual wedding day, we didn't have to worry about a thing knowing the Emily had everything under control. We could not be any happier with how everything turned out and with how smoothly it went. We can't even begin to express how thankful we are that we had the opportunity to work with Emily. She helped make our day amazing! -

Emily was absolutely incredible, from our first meeting with her to our big day. She made the whole planning process so much fun and carefree. My husband and I really looked forward to all of our meetings with her. We honestly had such a fantastic time planning the whole thing! She is next level organized and pulled off a super polished event with a fairly high number of vendors and artists involved. We loved that she had great relationships with so many LGBTQ vendors and that we could support our community.
The biggest complication with our planning process was that we picked an event space in Malibu that ended up being severely damaged by the Woolsey Fire. Emily worked with the vendor and made sure the space was what we had originally envisioned...and it turned out better than either of us could have imagined! Emily created the most magical and personal space for us to express our love for each other. We had so many custom decorations, like a beautiful welcome banner and a laser cut bar sign and cake topper. It made the wedding so special. We also wanted rose gold everything and that's exactly what we got! Even now over two months after the event, our guests will not stop talking about how perfect the wedding was!
You're guaranteed to have the wedding of your dreams with Emily on your team, and get to know a truly wonderful and sincere person in the process. We can't recommend her enough! -

Where can I even begin? If you are planning a wedding your very first step should be to reach out to Emily.
We hired Emily as our wedding planner for our March 9th, 2019 wedding and it was the best decision we made during our planning process. Not only is Emily a joy to be around, the most organized person you will ever meet, so funny, and amazingly creative but she will always be 10 steps ahead of you during your planning process and will ensure that you stay cool, calm, collected and ready for your big day.
My wedding was hands down the best day of my life (my husband says the same thing). There wasn't one thing we were stressed about, and the entire day was insanely beautiful. When looking for a planner, it's so important to find someone who you can personally connect with, and you will find nobody more personable than Emily (my family is obsessed with her and wants to adopt her as their own).
My wedding was only a few weeks ago and I already miss her. I'm excited to seeing her in the future as I will be recommending her to every person I know who gets engaged :) -

From the moment we hired Emily we were in constant contact with her. From florals to decor--I asked her opinion on it all. She's got impeccable taste and I constantly went to her asking for feedback, which she always responded to promptly. She was a blast to work with and honestly our wedding was beyond magical. The venue was a very difficult one (we picked it before we'd hired Emily) and while there were some day-of hiccups (as in every wedding)--the whole thing was a dream. So many people have said to us it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. I know during the wedding both my husband and I turned to each other and said--"This really is the best wedding!" We had so much fun, there was so much love and it really looked beyond magical--and Emily helped in all aspects. We couldn't have done it without her! -
