Short notice elopement

After submitting the online request about the possibility of eloping the next day, we were contacted right away! Tim was absolutely outstanding - flexible, friendly, and excellent to work with. Highly recommend!

More Than We Expected

Tim and everyone at Hawaiian Island Weddings were extremely helpful before we even arrived in Maui. Their communication was wonderful. We had so many questions that we asked through email, text, and phone calls. Our questions were always answered quickly.
Vanda did my wife's hair and makeup. She arrived at our hotel room right on time. She was skilled, professional, and personable.
The wedding ceremony was performed by Joe Miles. He was all smiles, and had such a warm, kind face. He simply oozed love.
Tim's pictures turned out so well. Our package included 28 pictures, but we couldn't decide, so we bought them all. His slideshow literally brought us both to tears. I can't imagine how our experience could have been any better. Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much Tim!

Sunset Sail

Our wedding was amazing! We were married on the Island Maui yacht our of Ma'alaea Harbor. Our photographer Kinga took some amazing photos. Eric did a terrific job as the ukulele player. I would love to do it again.

Excellent and Personal Service!!

Tim was the best and took care of everything for us. We made some changes and had a lot of questions and Tim was so accommodating, knowledgeable, and nice. He took care of everything! All we had to do was show up. It was an absolutely beautiful and intimate wedding at sunset. It could not have been more beautiful and organized. The pictures were gorgeous. Amazing Elopement

We decided to Elope and I wanted a beach wedding. So what better place then Maui?
HI weddings made it so easy! They set up the place, minister and photographer. We just had to show up and what an amazing sunset wedding.

Perfect Bliss

My husband proposed in October 2019. Wedding planning immediately became too stressful. We wanted a day of bliss that was just about us, but as we started thinking about a traditional wedding it quickly became apparent that there would be more anxiety than bliss. We already had a trip to Maui planned and decided to secretly get married while we were there. After an internet search for wedding planners and a few phone interviews we knew without a doubt that Tim Clark and Hawaiian Island Weddings was exactly what we were looking for. They understood we wanted a simple romantic ceremony, just us. Tim lined up a pastor, photographer, videographer, musician, hair and makeup, and the most perfect secluded beach location at sunset. We literally just had to show up. It was the most perfect day full of all the bliss we dreamed of.

Everything I could have asked for and more

Tim was absolutely amazing! Fun, professional, helpful, very responsive, I could go on all day. Planning a destination wedding to a place you’ve never been is stressful, being able to ask any questions and have the advice and honest opinion of someone in the area and added resources took a lot of the load off me. All we had to do was show up and enjoy ourselves! Also, our pictures are stunning!! Forever grateful!

Perfect Wedding

Tim Clark did an amazing job of making our wedding everything we wanted! We were able to personalize our special day to be a perfect expression of us. He took care of every detail of our sailboat wedding, making everything extremely easy for us. He is responsive, attentive to details and fun to work with! Awesome most special day

Took a lot of pressure of us knowing it was all taken care of and all we had to do was turn up with a document...Hawaiian Island wedding made it a extra special day with the photographer provided and and also Rev Joffrey which made it more relaxed than what we already were...would definitely recommend if your thinking of marrying that special someone in Hawaii

Perfect and stress free!

My partner and myself decided to elope with about 8 weeks notice. We live in the UK and wanted to go to Hawaii. Tim made this so easy from start to finish, no question or query was too small or big and it was a stress free process because he organised everything for us. Great pictures, great video, the most perfect day! Cannot thank them enough. Highly recommended!!

Tim communicated with us throughout the planning and leading up to the event. At the event, he kept things moving along catering to our needs while also being mindful of the time left with the sunset. We decided to have an elopement wedding in Maui at the last minute and Tim and his team were great in helping us coordinate from a distance in the short time that we had. They are very professional and have excellent customer service and were very responsible at all times. Everything was beautiful...the pictures, the bouquet, the beach they picked for us. First and foremost, my wife and I would like to deeply apologize for just getting to this review. I was a pretty crazy summer for us and our daughter. I can't say enough about the amazing and professional job Tim Clark did for us in coordinating our beautiful wedding. From the first time time I reached out to and spoke to Tim, I knew we were in great hands. He was very helpful in talking me through the whole process, setting up all necessary appointments. I even threw him a couple of curve balls by requesting last minute doves and a Maile Ti Leaf Lei to our package and he did not disappoint. Our photographs from the wedding were so beautiful, all of our friends keep raving on the beauty that Tim captured on our beautiful sunset wedding. It was our plan to get married on the beach in Maui during our vacation however a week prior to leaving I was admitted to the hospital emergency basis and had no time to finalize any plans. I called Tim Clark when I arrived in Maui and he was able to make it ALL happen within a few days. The ceremony was beautiful!!! Held on the beach with our two closest friends. My new husband and I couldn't be happier. Marriage license , beach permit, a wonderful wedding official, and the most beautiful beach site Maui. It truly was a special day!!! We'll never forget our special day and Tim Clark for making it come together so quickly and practically effortlessly (on our part).

We had a very very nice and romantic wedding on the beautiful island of Maui thanks to Tim. It was raining quite hard on the selected day but we had the chance to change and finally we got married on the next day. Hawaiian Island Weddings company was easy to work with, especially considering we were stateside and had never been to Hawaii. They coordinated everything including site location, minister, make-up and photography. We purchased our own flowers, but they can also handle that. The post wedding photography meeting was great. It allowed us to view and purchase the photos and we wanted. The photography was excellent.

Tim did exactly what I wanted - he made planning a wedding easy! He always responded promptly to my questions beforehand and helped coordinate efficiently once we were in Hawaii. We even had a last minute snafu with the marriage license that he helped sort out - he called me as soon as I landed at the airport and had the solution ready. Thanks for handling all the details - big and small - for our special day!

My husband and I loved our wedding! Hawaiian Island Weddings made our day extra special, including our parents with a beautiful lei exchange with the extra leis we purchased for a couple that wasn't able to make it. We didn't know they were going to do that and it topped it off and our parents felt really appreciated. Tim did an amazing job directing and making everything go perfect! I would highly recommend other couples to use Hawaiian Island Weddings to help make their day special as they did ours.

You won't have any regrets going with Hawaii Island Weddings . Tim and his team are very responsive, informative, and you can tell they have a strong passion for what they do. Wifey and I were extremely happy with our experience. Kauai was beautiful, lush, and not too touristy. Great place for wedding and honeymoon. We've already discussed going back there for our 5 year anniversary.

Archie and I can't express just how fantastic Tim at Hawaiian island weddings is"""we had the dream wedding at Maui in Hawaii beach sunset..Tim who organised our traditional Hawaiian wedding exceeded our expectation of great'' we spoke with Tim from Sydney Australia once or twice and his exceptional communication and organisation skills proved to be absolutely amazing in delivering our beautiful perfect wedding as we arrived in Hawaii stress free as Tim had everything thought of and done for us....we strongly recommend any couple wanting to get married overseas in Hawaii to please go with Tim as he is "The Best" heart and soul and the care factor is seen in his organising of our wedding he coordinated..

Tim was incredible to deal with, we inquired on a Sunday morning looking to get married in Hawaii before we left on Wed. He made it all happen seamlessly and without any issues. The MinisterJofrey, the photographer Michael, flowers, and the limo were all first class! Tim has a calming presence and can make your wedding dreams come true. The prices are fair and more importantly he delivered on everything he said he would. We can't wait to see the pictures! Thank you Hawaiian Island Weddings!

My fiancé and I decided Rather last minute that we were going to get married while vacationing on Maui and by last minute I mean about 10 days! I think I talked to almost every wedding planner on Maui during the 10 days leading up to our wedding. One of the companies I contacted was Hawaiian Island weddings. They were not the least expensive but from the very first email, they were the best. My experience was incredibly stress free from beginning to end. Tim chose the perfect spot on the perfect beach. He arranged the perfect minister. He listened to us, understood our desires and delivered them to us. On top of all this, Tim was also the photographer for our wedding. His work is fantastic! He did an amazing slideshow of our photos and posted it on Youtube for us so that all our friends and family could share in our event. I highly recomend Hawaiian Island Weddings to anyone getting married on Maui, especially if you are a same sex couple like us!!

Tim arranged our 40th wedding vowel renewal. It was wonderful!. So reassuring when one lives half a world away from Maui. We were lucky enough to have a 3 of our grandchildren present and to this day the eldest still talks of joining Rev Kahu Alalani Hill for the blessing. This was a spur of the moment action by Rev Kahu Alalani Hill, and very memorable for our family.
5 years on we are heading back to Hawaii again, but alas not Maui this time.
Would highly recommend the service Tim provides. Maybe a catch up at 50 Tim!!

Tim Clark from Hawaiian Island Weddings arranged a beautiful wedding for us. He was a pleasure to work with and responded promptly to phone calls and emails, was knowledgable and informative, provided many options to suit any couples wishes, and listened to all our hopes and desires and made them come true! Tim took care of every detail and created a truly beautiful event. There was no stress or worry thanks to Tim arranging everything from the car rental to the pastor who officiated our ceremony. Tim pays great attention to detail and offers so many wonderful packages it was difficult to choose. One can't go wrong with any of Tim's offerings and my husband and I are so grateful and appreciative of our beautiful wedding that will forever have a special place in our hearts.

Tim arranged every detail and provided so many beautiful aspects. Aside from amazing venues for the ceremony, Tim had breathtaking flowers and a cake created for our special day. Tim went above and beyond in securing special flowers for the bridal bouquet and the result was a stunning piece. Tim provided all the extras to ensure a beautiful experience and event with lovely photography. We were so extremely pleased with the value and services provided by Hawaiian Island Weddings!! We are from Michigan, and had no idea who could plan our wedding in Hawaii. I did a google search, and came up with Hawaiian Island Weddings. Their reviews were glowing, and their website was professional. So we decided to go with them. Our experience could not have been better!

We were married in January, and although it was just the two of us, everything about the planning and ceremony was seamless. We were very happy with our officiant and photographer - both were very professional. All details and preparation were handled expertly by Tim. We felt quite comfortable on the day of the wedding that everything was in order, and we had a lovely time. We would absolutely recommend Hawaiian Island Weddings for you wedding!!!

We are so glad we chose Hawaiian Island Weddings to plan our wedding. It turned out to be just perfect. We didn't have much time left before we were planning to get married, Tim in less than a month organized everything for us. From all the vendors to suggesting the wedding cake. I felt that our wedding was the easiest thing to do, and there was no stress at any point.
It’s been almost a month since we got married in the beautiful Maui Island. We wanted to sincerely Thank Tim for organizing our wonderful life event, making it to be the one of our most amazing days of our lives that we will never forget. We couldn't stop talking to our friends how lucky we were to have found this company to organize it so professionally for us.
The pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous and everyone loved them. Our wedding video, that was ready next day, was very touching and lots of our family and friends said they got emotional watching it and felt like they were part of it. Tim created a link where the video was posted so that all of our friends and family, who could not make, could watch it. The cake was amazing and we loved our wonderful champagne flutes. Also, my makeup and hair person was excellent! She did such a wonderful job, I couldn't be more pleased.
Thanks to Tim and his family who assisted, our special day was perfect and memorable. We couldn't be more pleased with Hawaiian Island Weddings services.

Tim and his team are awesome. They married us in 1999 and arranged for a renewal during a recent visit to Maui. Tim was able to secure the same secluded, romantic beach and singer/music creating an emotional ceremony.

Tim Clark and his team did an exceptional job with planning virtually every aspect of our wedding. We couldn't have been happier with his professionalism, thoroughness, and availability and responsiveness to what must have seemed like our never-ending questions. Tim always took our calls and they frequently lasted more than an hour as we sought to arrange just the right location (beachfront villas facing west for a sunset wedding), musician (Evan Schulman was PERFECT) and appropriate music for each part of the ceremony, Officiant, make up and hair stylist, reception catering (on-stie at the villas), photography, and even the cake. He also helped us find an extremely helpful activities planner for our honeymoon! Tim was totally understanding of the many changes we made to attendees and the resulting impacts on items such as menus and timing. He always seemed to know what questions to ask of us to ensure that we had considered all aspects of our arrangements. Finally, Tim never tried to make this into 'his wedding'; he guided us with appropriate questions about what we might like and would offer suggestions, but knew just when to let us explore different options and when to help us choose the aspects of the ceremony or reception that were as we uniquely wanted them. There are other firms offering 'wedding services' for less, but we consider the scope and depth of his knowledge and services and the value that we received as very, very welll worth the price. We wholeheartedly and without reservation give Tim and his firm our complete endorsement - - as well as our sincere gratitude for helping us make our Maui wedding, reception, and honeymoon perfect. I cannot say enough about our amazing wedding experience! We gave Tim very little notice and we still had an amazing wedding and honeymoon! Tim did all of the work too. I called, told him when I was arriving and when I was leaving and he did all the rest. There are always small 'issues' that happen when you are planning a wedding from a distance, but even those were handled quickly and without any stress to myself or my husband.Tim did everything he said he would and we were thrilled with the package. We had an awesome wedding and honeymoon, all thanks to Hawaiian Island Weddings! We managed to plan the whole thing online without ever going to Hawaii until it was time for the wedding. It was SO nice to not have to run around trying to tie up loose ends to coordinate the whole thing. All we had to do was pick out our clothes and show up for the big day! It was a great time and everything went off without a hitch. We loved being able to come to Maui and relax, and in the middle of our vacation, we got married! No time spent fretting about how everything was going to go, as we knew the event was in very capable hands, so we just showed up and had a great time! Mr. Clark and his staff were very professional and he always answered my questions right away. My husband and I both agree that we wouldn't change anything about our wedding or honeymoon.

Hawaiian Island Weddings caught our eye, as their website was easy to use and very professionally laid out. They have a wide range of selection, we wanted to stick with the Hawaiian theme and they had the perfect package...a traditional Hawaiian wedding! We had Tim Clark assist us with our Maui wedding and we were VERY pleased with the results. Leading up to the wedding, Tim was very quick to respond to my inquiries. Our minister was Kimo, and I highly recommend him. Tim O'Hara was our guitar player and he was very pleasent. We got married on the "grassy knoll", in Wailea. You would never guess that it is in a busy area, because we were seperated up on our little hill, and the backdrop for our pictures couldn't be beat. (sun, palm trees, and the beautiful ocean)

Jim and I sent in our order for the 28 pictures last night. We really enjoy going through all your pictures….it was difficult to choose pictures sometimes.

HIW assisted us with our wedding in Maui on September 2, 2011. This was a very small ceremony on the beach with just us (the bride and groom), Tim Clarke (the owner/photographer), his daughter (Elizabeth -witness), and the officiant (Vance Rosette).

When planning this arrangement, we did not know what to expect. Neither of us had gone to a beach wedding before. Our experience with HIW far exceeded our expectations!!! We had a wonderful and very memorable experience. The beach location was stunning. It was secluded and beautiful. Our officiant, Vance Rosette, was wonderful and really put a lot of effort into performing a great ceremony. Tim and his daughter were fantastic. Tim took the most amazing photos. He took his time and got some great shots. His daughter, Elizabeth, was so patient and helpful. We could not have been more pleased with HIW and our wedding experience. I would recommend HIW to anyone who wants a small, intimate wedding in paradise! I understand that HIW also assists with larger weddings and I'd bet that they would do a great job in this regard as well.

Felt at ease planning a destination wedding with Hawaiian Island Weddings

They were super responsive and easy to work with. I think they are used to smaller more intimate weddings, but handled 52 people with ease and made our day so special.

The vacation was great. We spend a week at a beautiful resort. You could see the ocean and dolphins from your room. That resort alone you never needed to leave. And the wedding was so easy not much to worry about and the location was great. Just off a beach so many bystanders can't watch. The view looking into the ocean for pictures was great. Loved every minute of are trip and wedding.

I googled Hawaiian wedding planners and Hawaiian Island Weddings was one of the four companies that I contacted. There were only two companies that replied - HIW replied within 24 hours and the second company replied almost a month after I sent my initial enquiry. I dealt with Tim at HIW and he was awesome! So helpful and as I mentioned, he was always quick to respond. Because I'm an event planner here in Canada, I probably didn't utilize HIW as much as I could have so that is why I gave a lower rating for 'value'. Other than that, I would highly recommend using HIW and am so grateful for all that they did for us!

We appreciated the fact that this was one of the only companies that would accomodate our wedding desire to get married on the North Shore of Oahu on Valentines day. Meeting our wedding co-ordinator prior to our wedding day to preview our wedding site was huge in lowering our stress level as to what are we getting for our dollar. Our wedding co-ordinator, photographer, and Reverand did everything they could to put us at ease so we could truly enjoy our wedding experience. Using professionals to take care of the planning is the only way to go to creating a stress free and incredible wedding experience.

We booked our wedding from thousands of miles away. Tim was prompt in his responses by email and the website was so informative. When we arrived and spoke on the phone, Tim was very reassuring that everything was ready for us - and it was, every last detail! Our wedding was beautiful, personal, relaxed (what we wanted) and so fun!

We had Tim plan our wedding on the Big Island. We had many changes to our initial plans, and Tim was very understanding and extremely helpful with everything. His coordination and planning made it so we literally just had to show up the day of our wedding-he had everything taken care of! Great overall experience and we had a beautiful wedding!

Tim and his group were great. They took away all of the stress of having a destination wedding. We wanted something simple, small and intimate. That is exactly what we got.

Darcy was our officiant. She introduced herself and it felt like we were old friends immediately. The ceremony was warm and friendly with lots of smiles and laughs, which fit our personality perfectly.

The team made our day, a perfect day.

Also, the pictures were wonderful. We have had nothing but compliments.

I would recommend them.

After shopping around a friend of mine recommended Hawaiian island weddings. I checked out their site and felt good about them being part of the BBB. They Molokini package was exactly what me and my now husband wanted. You can customize to your special needs/wants or leave it as is as we did. Price was better then other companies we looked at. The wedding planning was quick and simple. They took care of everything, all we had to do was show up. Stress free and everything worked out as close to perfect as it could be!

My husband and I worked with this company in order to set up the officiant for our ceremony. We decided to get married on a remote part of Maui and it was difficult finding a minister willing to travel to the area. Hawaiian Island Weddings quickly located a minister who was willing to perform the ceremony. They were easy to work with and attentive. They also coordinated with a licensing agent to schedule an appointment to procure our marriage license. I only gave them three stars for value because there was a large additional fee for the minister to come out to Hana. This is understandable, however, we paid more for the typical services than other similarly situated individuals would. I would recommend this vendor.

My husband and I found Hawaiian Island Weddings during a Google search when we decided to have a destination wedding in Maui. The beach location was beautiful and private, our flowers were fresh, our minister was amazing, the hotel was top notch in service, location, and package perks (such as buffet breakfast and beautiful room with a view) and we had beautiful photos. The planning process was a bit difficult, everything was either by e-mail or phone. Some information was lost in the process and needed to be repeated/confirmed. E-mails were not always answered quickly and phone calls were hit or miss (even considering the time difference). Some mistakes were made, but Tim did correct them. He tends to do the same poses in all his photos for all wedding couples, but the pictures were still amazing and the DVD slideshow he made was also beautiful, just a little pricey. Another negative is he gives you the low resolution photos on your photo CD, so even though you can upload them to Shutterfly to order 4x6 prints, you cannot order anything bigger then a 5x7 because picture quality goes out the window, forcing you to order bigger prints from him and they are outrageously priced. Our dinner on the beach could of been better, the chef was nice, but the food was so so. The wedding cake however, was very delicious. Towards the end of the night, you could tell Tim just wanted to get away from the wedding and we did get kicked out of the park before being completely done with our dinner and deserts.

All in all, the wedding of our dreams did come true, the total price was better than having a traditional wedding, our family and friends had a great time and we had a wonderful honeymoon.

We used the planning services but when we checked out the recommended beach location and decided we wanted something else, Tim was super responsive and changed the permit right away. The officiant Tim hired was great and made the moment really nice for us. The photos were also really nice. Generally we were quite pleased and would recommend the service. We made our own licensing appointment and scouted our own location, so perhaps we felt a bit like we had done some of the planning but paid for HIW to do all of it.

Tim seemed great over the phone up until we needed to start getting all the final details in order. I could tell before leaving for Maui that we would encounter problems. He is very disorganized and even though he may have everything written down in his notes, he did not seem to refer to them when speaking with me. He also refused to let me speak to the florist on my own, even though I just wanted to discuss the type of flowers used in my bouquet.

Once on Maui, we were greeted very rudely when we met at his house for a rehearsal. He acted as though he did not expect us, even though we had arranged this meeting only a week before.

Day of the wedding - I got a call about noon (wedding was at 5:45pm) that the beach that was planned for our wedding was going to be under water at that time and we would need to find a different beach. The reason it would be under water is that a south swell had been coming in for the past week and the tide was higher than usual. While I realize that the tide is something out of human control, he definitely should have expected this and planned another location at our meeting with him three days prior to the wedding. He suggested several other beaches and did send me some pictures, but most were near hotels, large, and crowded or already had multiple weddings booked on them. My husband had to go out searching for a beach himself. Luckily he found a good beach and we were able to do the wedding there. We arrived on the beach about 45mins before Tim to take pictures. We decided where we would like the ceremony to take place and the whole wedding party of 22 people were in that section of the beach. I assumed that Tim would notice us and come over to greet us before setting up. Instead, he just began to set up the ceremony spot on the other end of the beach. When I asked if we would move the ceremony spot to the place I wanted I was told a straight "NO." When I asked why he said "we have already set up over there." After some convincing by my mom, the ceremony site was moved and neither Tim nor the people helping him were happy with us after that. If I'm going to pay him for the wedding, I think I should pick where it is set up. The last pitfall - we had ordered leis for all of our guests, but unfortunately, Tim did not count the leis that came in the box and we were short two. While he did immediately refund us the money, two of our guests felt left out as a result. Also, the flower circle, path, and bouquets, although beautiful, were not the colors I requested.
On a positive note, Rev. Vance Rosete and the guitarist Tarvin Makia were amazing. The ceremony reading was done very well and the minister seemed to really care to make our day special. The music was great and he even accommodated a song not on his original playlist. The cake from Maui Wedding Cakes that was delivered to our reception was also very good. The star rating is solely based on Tim Clark and Hawaiian Island Weddings.

While our wedding was more than I could have dreamed of and I regret nothing, Hawaiian Island Weddings as a wedding planner was very disappointing. I would not recommend them to anyone wanting to get what they expect.
