We had an absolute blast getting ready with the Glimmer Hair and Makeup team for my wedding in October 2024! They were not only incredibly efficient in getting everyone ready but also delivered stunning hair and makeup that lasted all night long. Communicating with them was a dream; they were flexible with last-minute add-ons and made the whole experience so enjoyable. It was the perfect way to spend our morning and early afternoon before the ceremony—fun & relaxed! -

I booked Glimmer while visiting the OBX Wedding Expo, they were doing hair and makeup trials so I tried them out and loved everything! On our wedding day Amanda did hair and Caitie did makeup, both knocked it out of the park! Glimmer was easy to communicate with and they even came to our venue to get us ready for the big day! Highly recommend!

My wedding was this past weekend (6/23/24), and I am SO happy with how my (and everyone else’s) hair and makeup turned out! Heidi and Michael both showed up early at my house the morning of the wedding & were both so flexible, talented, and fun to talk to!! In addition to me, 3 others got their makeup done & 6 got their hair done (including my new husband who got some Viking braid half-up half-down action!!) and everyone looked fantastic! My junior bridesmaids (9 and 12) looked age appropriate but still glam enough to make them feel special for the day!! Michael also gave me extra lip product and a disposable applicator to touch up my lip stain throughout the day which was so helpful! My hair and makeup lasted all day even through me splashing waist deep in the ocean for my sunset portraits!!

We had a large group getting our hair and make-up which can be challenging but when you add in that the florist was late with my floral crown, that is was WAY to big to fit on anyone's head, the flowers were the wrong color and the wreath was so thick you couldn't get a pin around it, it could have been a disaster. Michael redid my makeup to help cover the tears and the ladies set out to buy flowers at the grocery store, redo the floral crown themselves and find a pretty ingenious way to keep it on my head. Ironically, one of the things people talked most about, was how much they loved my hair and crown!! -

Michael, Amanda, and Caitie are all SO AMAZING!!!! Myself and my bridesmaids felt so beautiful! They are all so nice and easy going and were totally fine with all of us cramming into a bedroom as we all bounced back and forth between hair and makeup. You seriously cannot go wrong with Glimmer but I highly recommend Michael and Caitie for makeup and Amanda for hair!!! Flexible and Knowledgeable
The women from Glimmer Hair and Makeup worked with us for my wedding this summer. They were excellent! There was a tropical storm headed our way and we were not sure if the Pier ceremony that was planned would be able to happen. They assured us that they would make sure we are prepared for whatever was to come. I planned to have my hair down and have extensions, but Brittany suggested that I put it up in order to combat the probable wind that we would be experiencing during the ceremony. I love what they did with my hair in the end! The makeup artist, Caitie, was aware that I prefer a natural look. She made sure that my makeup was seen in pictures but not overwhelming. My entire wedding party was very happy with their hair and makeup as well, and the ladies worked quickly and efficiently. The Glimmer team was fantastic - from their quick responses their stylists' skills! I had my trial where I discussed my concerns with the style I had chosen. My stylist (Amanda) made thoughtful suggestions including a backup plan. On the day of the wedding, we decided to pivot to plan B based on weather and how my hair held the trial style, and Amanda killed it! I loved how my hair turned out. During my makeup trial, there were a few things that I wanted done slightly differently for the wedding and Caitie nailed it on wedding day. First off, OH MY GOSH the women of Glimmer are FANTASTIC! Do not even think twice about hiring anyone else for your hair and makeup. My hair stylist just knew exactly what would look good on me and my bridesmaids and made us feel super special. She spent time with each of us showing us our hair and making sure we loved it. Which we just loved our hair! My makeup artist holy moly was she good! My two best friends are makeup gurus and they know everything about makeup and they knew she is legit. She made me feel like my childhood self always dreamt of looking like on my wedding day. I cannot thank Glimmer enough! -

Kat and Livvy came out to the Hilton at Kitty Hawk Pier to help myself and my bridal party get ready, and despite doing both my hair and makeup trial with other people at Glimmer, I could not be happier with how everything turned out. My mom and my bridal party looked wonderful. And oh wow, as for the work they did on me? I don't have enough amazing adjectives. My hair was perfect and stayed in place despite the outrageous humidity. But the true work of art was my makeup. Kat worked wonders with an old school Hollywood glam look and I was in love. It also went no where in the humidity and heat. And that gorgeous red lip stayed fresh into the wee hours of the morning and my post reception celebration. I can't recommend Glimmer enough! -

I found Glimmer in July of 2020 through my wedding coordinator while searching for hair and makeup for my May 2021 wedding in Duck, NC. Their impressive portfolio on social media and their website sold me, and conversations with other vendors approving of their work sealed the deal! We had Lauren do my makeup and my mom’s makeup, and Livy did 3 bridesmaid’s hair. I did a trial when I was visiting the Outer Banks in August 2020. My wedding was not for another 10 months, but Lauren was super accommodating, professional, and friendly. Before my wedding, I changed the style/look that I wanted, and Lauren CRUSHED it day of! I had to put a lot of trust in her since we didn’t get a second trial and the first trial was 10 months earlier, but she did an amazing job of understanding what I wanted. My makeup lasted all day, night, and I even slept in it and it looked great in the morning lol. It lasted through MANY tears as well! My mom also loved her makeup. Livy listened to what all three of my bridesmaid’s wanted and pulled them off impeccably. Lauren and Livy traveled to our venue and made the getting ready process easy and fun. Beautiful work
I used glimmer for myself and my bridal parties hair + makeup! We had Kat who did our make up mollie who did our hair. They both did a wonderful job and are very kind and friendly. Kat is very knowledgable about makeup and has an airbrush machine which was a win for myself and my mom who wanted it. She took the time to teach us about he makeup she was using when we loved it and is just easy going and fun to talk to! We all looked beautiful. Mollie is also a sweetheart and made all of our visions come to life. I allowed my bridal party to pick their hairstyle so she did something a little different on everyone and was able to mesh their Inso into the perfect style. I also love that we were able to have them come to our location since we rented a beach house. I definitely recommend! -

My fiancé and I got engaged in January of 2019 and had been planning our October 2020 wedding for over a year when COVID 19 hit. We decided in June, with 127 days to go until our wedding date, to change our plans entirely to best accommodate the safety of our guests. Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed. You really have to trust in reviews when planning a wedding from 270 miles away with no time to allow for trials, but you can absolutely trust in these reviews! I hardly ever wear makeup and I was super nervous about trying airbrush for the very first time on my actual wedding day, but Stephanie made me look and feel absolutely perfect. We had two makeup artists come to our rental house to do makeup on 12 women and the whole process went perfectly. It was like they were able to read our minds and make all of us look exactly the way that we envisioned. I have endless good things to day about Glimmer, hire them, you won’t be disappointed. -

Livy showed up exactly on time, ready to go and was just SO sweet. I was a bucket of nerves the day of my wedding and she was just the best calm most reassuring person to have in the room! She made me feel STUNNING, applied my extensions absolutely perfect and they held in my head all night without me feeling they’d slip at all. She was AMAZING, with our five year old daughter, made her feel so comfortable as it was her first time getting her hair done. The team at Glimmer Hair & Makeup was exceptional! They were down to earth and made me feel very comfortable while they dolled me up for my big day. And let me say, I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day. My makeup was AMAZING - just the perfect pop for all of the pictures while still allowing me to look natural. And for someone with curly hair, they did a phenomenal job keeping my natural curls while also making them tight, so they'd last the entire night. They were able to capture exactly what I wanted. I absolutely recommend Glimmer. Jess took care of makeup and Molly did our hair. The quality of the work was great. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they made it come true. My makeup felt light and lasted for several hours despite the heat, same for bridal party. Hair was as requested, Molly took great care to make it look exactly as we wanted it. I booked them from Delaware and emailed them a lot, each time they responded quick, were helpful and accommodating. I would book them for my sister's wedding next year if they were closer! Exactly what I wanted!
My bridesmaids and I all got our hair done at Glimmer, and we all loved our styles! I also had one bridesmaid who got her makeup done, and it looked flawless! I did not work with Mollie specifically (other than through email for booking), but both of the hair stylist we worked with were great! I did a trial before and I would highly recommend doing so.
I thought I wanted one thing, but ended up not liking it. The stylists worked with me until we figured out something I liked, and then replicated it perfectly on my wedding day! It does cost extra for the trial, but totally worth it to make sure you LOVE your hair on your wedding day!

Lisa Barcus was amazing and made my bridal party feel beautiful in their own skin. Being from so far away, it was impossible for us to come in for a trial. I love the "natural look" and was hoping that she could help me with that. It was everything I could have asked for and more. I got my hair and makeup done, my mother got her hair, and my maid of honor got her hair done. Stephanie did my makeup and hair for my wedding, in addition to makeup for several other ladies in my wedding party. I can't recommend going with Glimmer enough. I did a trial run with Stephanie beforehand and she was just great to hang out with and chat while we went through what I wanted. The day of the wedding I asked for a slight change to what we did before and she nailed it. All the ladies in my group looked great. Lisa did an amazing job with my hair for my wedding! As a Bride, I wanted to look glamorous while still looking like myself, and she nailed it. Plus, I had an outdoor ceremony, so I wanted to make sure my hair stayed in place. Lisa was fun, efficient, and great to work with. She listened to what a wanted and delivered a beautiful hair style. I absolutely loved Glimmer Hair and Makeup. My emails were responded to in a timely fashion. I was able to request Stephanie to do my hair and makeup which was a dream. She did not disappoint- she was simply amazing. So easy to talk to, talented and made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day. My bridesmaids and I had a wonderful time getting our hair and makeup done at Glimmer Hair & Makeup's salon. Their salon provided the perfect background for getting ready and taking pictures. Livy and Lauren made the getting ready part of the day fun and enjoyable and we all felt beautiful. -

We had an awesome experience with the team from Glimmer - they really made the getting ready part of the day fun and enjoyable and I've never felt more beautiful. I did my hair and makeup trial the day before the wedding, which worked out because it was all fresh in the stylists' memories and I was gorgeous for the rehearsal. They even were kind enough and took the time to change my makeup and hair a little bit after we decided what I wanted for the wedding, so that it wouldn't be the same and ruin the surprise for the rehearsal.
I was really pleased with how I was able to provide little direction (all I said was I want my makeup to look natural and not overly done), and the Glimmer team gave their expert opinions and made me look more beautiful than I could even think of an image in my mind. The makeup made my eyes look greener than they ever have before- I even have since changed my everyday look to be similar! My hair also turned out better than I had pictured in my mind - it was stunning.
We got ready at the house we rented in Kitty Hakw, and we had 3 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, and myself. The girls from Glimmer were efficient, professional, and had a positive energy and enthusiasm that contributed to making the whole getting ready process really fun. I would highly recommend them and cannot thank them enough! -

This vendor was one of my favorites! We had a makeup/hair trial and I had some concerns but both girls spoke to me after hours and were able to make me feel confident and calm about my wedding style. There were 3 girls that came to the house to do all 6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, flower girl and bride. They got us all done from 830-130. We all loved our makeup and hair. The airbrush is definitely worth it. It lasted all night long. The hair was a little messy but I did have the ceremony on the beach and it was windy but it still was perfect. I definitely recommend this vendor!! -

I reached out to Mollie in a bit of panic the weekend before my 6/11/19 wedding that I was looking for someone to do bridal make-up (after realizing I’d look like a total clown trying to do it myself, lol). I thought it was a long shot given the “busy” wedding season, and she promptly responded trying to work with me, and amazingly enough, was able to squeeze me in on the big day, at even the best possible time slot...Thank you!!
Lauren did my make-up, and just WOW!! She was so sweet and amazing. I instantly trusted her style and approach, we had great conversation, and I just felt pampered and so glad our crossed paths that day for her to help make me look beautiful! The shop is also adorable and it was a perfectly fun experience leading up to the final prep hours of getting ready. Thank you both!! Mollie and her team are absolutely amazing! Lisa did my wedding trial a couple days before my wedding and I was so impressed by her talent! I felt so good leaving the studio and I could not wait to work with her again for my wedding makeup! Mollie and Lisa came to our house on the day of the wedding and working with both of them was so enjoyable and relaxing. Mollie is truly amazing with what she can do with hair, she easily replicated the pictures myself, bridal party, and mom showed her from Pinterest! The makeup Lisa did for the actual day of my wedding blew me away, she told me she wanted to make some small adjustments to the makeup she did at my trial and I am so glad she did! Alright...I seriously have to fuss on Lisa and Kim just wow! Lisa did all of our hair and Kim did our makeup. They drove all the way down to Avon and arrived at 8:30 in the morning (which they are from the Hampton Roads area like me). They arrived so happy and brought so much positive energy to the day. They made all the moms look so chic and beautiful, my bridesmaids look like boho goddesses, the flower girls they fixed their hair and put their flower crowns on them. I have never felt more beautiful in my life and I am so grateful for Mollie for sending them to us. They had us all laughing like we knew them forever and it was just so fun getting to know them. -

Where do I even start? Mollie and her team did the makeup for my engagement pictures (as my trial) and my wedding day makeup, and all my ladies, and let me tell you we have all never felt so beautiful. Mollie put me at ease and felt like an old friend as soon as I met her back in the Spring for my engagement shoot, and it was exactly what I needed having just moved away from home and in the process of planning a wedding. On the morning of the wedding, her team showed up and were so kind and so calm, it was the most peaceful way for all of us to ease into the rest of the day. All my girls kept their makeup on into the next day for our brunch because we all loved it so much! My Dad even cried when he saw my Mom for the first time because she looked so incredibly beautiful. If you are having a wedding in the Outer Banks, please don't hesitate to book with Mollie and her team, they will be one of the best decisions you make in the planning process. Mollie, thank you again for making me feel my best (even after a night of NO sleep haha!) and helping make it the best day of my life start to finish. -

Livy was great in adjusting my hair just how I wanted it from my trial. And Lisa did exactly what I wanted for my make up. They even made time for one of my bridesmaid to get eyelashes (which wasn't previously booked). It was awesome being able to get ready right in our beach house the morning of. Highly recommended- especially with my hair holding for 20mph winds during pier pictures!

Mollie responded quickly and had been highly recommended by our wedding planner. She set me up with Lisa for Hair and Kim for Makeup, and my family and I looked AMAZING!
*Lisa – Hair: Lisa is so talented, and very personable! I felt as if we had known each other for years the moment we met. She is well versed in working with extensions (I had my own, clip-in, real hair extensions) for my wedding, and she had the placement down perfectly! She used amazing products that held my hair all day into the night on the trial and the actual wedding day. She did my niece, sister, mom and aunt’s hair, and everything from short hair to up-do’s all looked great!
*Kim – Makeup: Kim did an amazing job on my make-up for my wedding! During the trial, I was certain I wanted airbrush, and Kim mentioned she preferred regular application. She worked with me to do ½ of my face with airbrush and ½ with regular application, and I’m so glad she was flexible working with me! The regular application is what I ended up going with, and her knowledge was wonderful! I looked beautiful, and she even gave me blotting papers for the rest of the day/evening. I would highly recommend working with Kim, her natural looking and beautiful makeup application skills were perfect.

Paige Sent on 09/26/2017There are honestly not enough stars to rate the Glimmer Hair & Makeup crew. For starters I literally messaged them 2 weeks before my wedding day with a hope and a prayer that they had someone available to do my makeup. They worked their magic & I had Lisa come to the house my ceremony and reception was being held at and she was absolutely amazing! It honestly felt like one of my best friends was doing my makeup our conversation just flowed so easily and by the end of my session I felt like I've known her for years! She applied my airbrush makeup and I got so many compliments on it all day & night. I loved it so much it was honestly bitter sweet having to take it off. I couldn't recommend Lisa enough she was awesome; you are definitely in wonderful hands if you have her. The price of the makeup and the travel fee was worth every penny!
