Flawless and Stress Free Experience!
I truly cannot speak highly enough of Lauren and everything she did for our wedding. I’m a relatively organized person and at the start of our wedding prep, I had a pretty solid idea of how I wanted everything to go. I didn’t think we needed wedding coordination at first, but was talked into it by my mom. We hired Lauren for her partial wedding planning package and was truly the best decision we could have made. Lauren is so incredibly organized and has such a refined attention to detail, she managed to make the entire process flawless and completely stress free. She is so knowledgeable about every little detail in the wedding planning process that we didn’t have to think or worry the entire time. She organized everything from vendor set up, contracts, timeline planning, decoration planning and set up and made everything so incredibly easy. I would have been a nervous and chaotic mess without her! She flawlessly managed to organize the entire ceremony and intricate setup of our reception (which included lighting over 200 individual candles between the ceremony and reception - she is an absolute saint) all while keeping a smooth moving schedule. The whole thing went off without a hitch! Please do yourself the favor and use Lauren for her wedding planning - she truly is incredible!Fancy Fern Events's reply:

Best Day of Coordinator!
Lauren at FancyFern Events is such a wonderful and kind person and we were so lucky to be able to work with her as our wedding day coordinator. She is extremely detail oriented, patient, creative, and organized. Thanks to her impressive organizing and coordination she ensured our wedding day ran smoothly and perfectly! She made sure every detail, timeline, and decor was perfect and helped coordinate with our other vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. Originally, my wife and I thought we could make our big day work without a coordinator since we had already done most of the work for the wedding anyway. However, we were talked into it and ended up choosing Lauren to help us with our big day. After the wedding, we were beyond grateful that we ended up having Lauren because, without her, our wedding wouldn't have been anywhere near perfect! She nailed every single detail down to the tee. She is very friendly, easy to work with, and always responded quickly. All in all, we were extremely thankful to have had Lauren make our wedding day even more perfect than we had envisioned. Lauren was a dream to work with from the very beginning!!! I feel like I could write a novel on how incredible she is but I'll try my best to summarize it with this one review!
I knew from our first phone call that she was the perfect fit for us. We wanted to DIY a lot but we also knew we needed a day of coordinator to make sure the day ran smoothly. Lauren knocked it out of the the park. It was the perfect day!!! She went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us from the get-go! Whether it was just a text to check in on our planning or a detailed day of list, she had it covered. She's professional, knowledgeable, talented and honestly just a darn treat to be around. She's the calm, level headed energy you want on your big day AND during all the days leading up to your wedding. We even had a snafu with our reception space on the WEEK OF THE WEDDING YA'LL! They changed ownership and the tables/decor that were supposed to be provided were possibly unavailable. Without Lauren I probably would have wept a million tears and had a complete breakdown. But of COURSE she took care of everything and the space was PERFECT, it was absolutely perfect! She also recommended the best vendors and made sure every little detail was taken care of, including helping us set up the reception space (we did DIY) AND made sure we ate, drank & enjoyed our party. caring, intelligent, experienced, and professional.
Lauren was wonderful from start to finish. She was there helping with literally everything. Besides the usual day of duties, she was also there to take care of my wife and I. She brought us each a plate of food during the reception knowing that we were so consumed with wedding guests and family. That simple gesture really made me feel like Lauren was just looking out for us in every single way. There are a million other examples of how fantastic she was on our wedding day. We couldn't have asked for a more caring, intelligent, experienced, and professional person to make our day so perfect. In fact a handful of friends at the wedding asked for Laurens contact information so they could hire her for their wedding! That's how great she is! Wow!! I just could not be any happier with the overall experience while working with Lauren. Out of all my vendors, she was the most responsive and detail orientated. She never missed any questions in my emails, had many suggestions when I asked for them and was always there when I needed her. Even when my venue lacked communication so we could all get on the same page, she took initiative to set up meetings ahead of time with the venue to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of. When I asked for something or a change to the plans, she made those changes promptly and finished the task in a more than timely manner. During the the day of, honestly everything worked as planned and all decor was in the right spot. I am so glad I chose her for my big day and would choose her again!!Fancy Fern Events's reply:

My fiancé and I — and both our families — were so impressed by Lauren’s kindness, professionalism and attention to detail. we virtually worked with Lauren for 8 months while planning our ‘destination’ weekend wedding in Santa Barbara — half guests from Europe, half sprinkled around CA. She was not phased by so many moving parts! Lauren helped us plan our bi-cultural wedding with ease, thoughtfulness and high organization. She is flexibile, knowledgeable and was always there for us, every step of the way. Many people told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to and I thank Lauren for helping this vision of throwing and intimate and beautiful yet casual French-American wedding weekend. We just had our wedding past weekend and it was just PERFECT. And it wouldn't have gone so perfectly without Lauren and Adrian. My husband and I are both product managers in Tech in SF -- i.e. we plan, organize, and execute for living. We knew going in that we were too much of control freaks to leave the whole wedding planning to someone else. But we also knew that we would need help since (1) it was going to be a mini-destination wedding (none of our family members/guests is from Santa Barbara) (2) we had 5 months to plan and (3) we needed someone to coordinate and execute plans for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day.
For 5 months, my husband, Lauren, and I basically worked like a well-functioning team, dividing and conquering. We kept one another well informed throughout the whole process. We also leaned a lot on her for advice on all kinds of things - finding vendors, taking pictures/measurement of the venue, what to do with paying for in-law's hair and makeup, what alternatives we have to make things a bit cheaper, having her check our vows independently to make sure they were similar in tone and length, etc. I can probably go on and on.... It almost felt like we had a sister planning a wedding with us :)
Fancy Fern is a small team compared to many others who charge probably 3-4 times more, but in terms of their work, I guarantee that they will exceed your expectations. We are very grateful for Fancy Fern's phenomenal work.Fancy Fern Events's reply:

Lauren was phenomenal, and I’m not sure how we would have done it without her. She was great at contacting vendors and getting quotes and talking us through options. The week of our wedding, it became apparent that it would rain on our wedding day, and she seamlessly handled all the last minute adjustments that caused. I appreciated how she was able to never make me feel stressed or rushed, but at the same time gave us enough reminders to make sure we got everything done. Every meeting with her made me feel more confident about the wedding planning process. The day of, she handled everything for our reception and it turned out absolutely perfectly, even better than we had expected. Megan Sent on 10/08/2018Fancy Fern Events was the main reason my wedding went so smoothly! Lauren helped with all my pre-wedding prep and day of as well. She contacted vendors, found great deals, and when it came to the day of the wedding, was so organized that I didn’t even have to worry! She is an amazing multitasker, which was much needed since my wedding was around 250 people. Not to mention she is super friendly and is flexible with your schedule! She even helped coordinate my bridal shower which was a huge success! She has my highest recommendations and I definitely will be using Fancy Fern for my future events! :)

Hiring Lauren as our wedding coordinator was the best decision we made during the whole planning process! She was extremely communicative, helpful, honest, and proactive - and helped make our vision a reality. We planned our whole wedding, but also work several jobs and live out of state. So at times, it was challenging to stick to our timeline and keep track of all the moving pieces.
Here are the qualities we experienced with Lauren, and I’m confident you’d get the same:
PROACTIVE: We shared our planning document with Lauren early on, and she was so great about jumping in and providing recommendations, asking questions we hadn’t thought of, and reminding us to do things before it was too late. We had a list of “items we need” and Lauren went so far as to lend us some things she had, search Craigslist/Offer Up/ Etsy to make suggestions, and even went out of her way to pick up some decor for us from a vendor in CA since we were out of state.
HELPFUL: Lauren helped us navigate how to get our marriage license and sent us a very detailed email with all the specifics. These little things REALLY add up when you’re running 100 miles per hour with your job, planning, family stuff, etc.
COMMUNICATIVE: Lauren took the initiative to reach out to all of our other vendors to check in with them, answer questions, provide information and make sure they had what they needed. Towards the end, she also took over communication with our venue on our behalf, which was a weight off my shoulders because they kept forgetting things I had told them! It was nice to have her as the middle-woman. By the time we actually got to the wedding, Lauren was so familiar with our vision and plan that everything was flawless!!
ACTION-ORIENTED: I had intended to be much more involved on the day with helping get set up - but I didn’t get a single thing done on my to-do list because everyone was talking to us / asking how to help / etc etc - it was so overwhelming but I knew that I could comfortably go upstairs to get ready with the girls and Lauren would have it handled. By the time we walked out for the ceremony, everything was STUNNING. Lauren helped set up the table decor, all the signage, the florals, etc. I had so many family and guests say what a hard worker her and her husband (who showed up to give an extra set of hands) are.
I have to admit, I really had to convince my husband (and other family members involved in the wedding) that we even needed a coordinator and to make space for it in the budget. Given that we were planning it all and had so much help, it was difficult to convince some people. We were hesitant at first since every other vendor was a friend or acquaintance and we weren’t sure we needed a coordinator. And for all the people who were skeptical about hiring a coordinator, they all understood what a necessary role they plays when they saw Lauren and her husband in action. For anyone in a similar situation: DON’T SKIP OUT ON IT. Having someone that is not directly involved with your guests is essential in getting stuff done. From the planning to having someone give a non-biased perspective, to all the help setting up, breaking down, and making sure guests knew where to go and what to do - the day wouldn’t have been the same without Fancy Fern Events. She will allow you to sit back and enjoy your special day with all our closest friends and family, without worrying about a thing!
I feel like I’ve known Lauren for a long time and have developed a friendship I am sure will last far beyond this day. The cherry on the cake was her thoughtfulness after all the festivities - a personal note and gift, and helping us to sell all the items from our wedding. Thank you, Lauren and Fancy Fern Events for going above and beyond to make our wedding magical!
