As a multiracial, Black and White woman it was important that I found someone who would be able to make EVERYONE in my family look their best. Bo was able to work with a variety of skin tones to have us all looking our best! Bo provided a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and took great precautions during COVID-19. I am someone who has never had her makeup professionally done, so I was stressed out about finding a makeup artist. Bo was phenomenal. We had a great introductory call where we discussed the products and looks I was comfortable with and any skin concerns I had. On the day of, she was there bright and early and did my and my MOH’s makeup perfectly in time for my 11 a.m. wedding! I felt beautiful and glamorous on my wedding day, and that’s all any bride wants. Bo is truly a master at her art.

More than a MUA!
Upon my initial conversation with Bo I knew that she was the MUA I had been in search of! She was very thorough in explaining to me her process and how she likes to take her time to give her bride the desired look she wants to achieve. Once I had my makeup trial it was no surprise to see that her skills were unmatched! I even returned a few days later to have her do my Bridal Shower makeup. Bo truly went above and beyond for me on my wedding day ... she even helped me put on my wedding dress when my maid of honor was running behind and stayed to touch up my makeup after my first look. Bo is an amazing makeup artist! She was recommended from a friend & did not disappoint. She did my makeup for my engagement photos & I looked gorgeous. For my wedding she made up my bridesmaids, both mothers and me. We all looked great without the cakey feel/look. Our complexions were all different shades of brown & still had those differences after Bo finished. This was very important to me that we still looked natural & not all alike. The experience of my dreams
I had a few very important qualities that I looked for in my make-up artist. I wanted someone with experience, used professional make-up and techniques, and someone that understood various skin tones! Bonike checked everyone of those on my list and then some. From contacting her here on Wedding Wire to day of, everything was absolutely perfect.
During my make-up trial, she helped me explore various potential looks. She didn't just ask for a picture, she wanted to know what the day would be like to better anticipate how to ensure a longer lasting application. My biggest concern was my eyeliner. I love a bold retro cat eye and not only did she deliver, it lasted all day long!
Day of, she treated my mom like a Queen! We had a prior awful make-up experience and it was such a relief to know my mom was in great hands. As far as my own personal experience, words cannot express how grateful I am. As a bride during Covid times, Bo made me feel so safe with her sanitation practices. She also put me at ease that day. Joking with me and helping me relax. It was like having another sister that day! She did an amazing job explaining every step, ensuring that I was happy with everything she did. Bo even took some extra videos and photos, and even helped with my dress during photographs.
The one thing I explained to Bo that I wanted is to make my make up look like I did it! I got exactly what I wanted. I looked like me and not some model in a wedding magazine. I look back at my wedding photos and I'm so happy. I won't have any regrets in the future thinking that I put too much make-up on.
Bo has great technique and I assure you, she's the one for you! If you want a more subtle look or even a glamorous look, she is the one for you! I am having a reception next year and I cannot wait to book her again.

I took the Online MasterClass with Face Affairs and I learnt so much. I was initially nervous about not doing an in person class but i took a leap of faith. I have no regrets. It was extremely interactive and she was able to reccomend products that would work for the different skin types. She was patient, answered all questions, and made specific recommendations. I "walked away" with more knowledge than ever. It felt like a personalized one on one session. I’m so glad that I found Bo to do my sister’s makeup on her wedding day! Bo is kind, talented, and easy to work with. Bonike did my makeup for my 2/22/20 wedding. I actually found her on instagram (@faceaffairs) many years prior and was so impressed with her work, I decided if I ever got married, she would be the one. This was BEFORE I EVEN MET my now husband. Fast forward to February 2019 and I had a phone consultation. She asked many questions I would never even think about for makeup such as my dress style, wedding theme, colors, and pictures of looks that I liked. She also explained the different packages she offers and was straight forward with prices. I trusted her so much I didn't even do a trial because I knew she was THE ONE. On my wedding day she absolutely DID NOT DISAPPOINT! From the time she walked in the door, Bo made me feel like a princess! She was almost more excited than I was! Amazing MU Artist
This was my first time getting my make up done professionally and let me say Bonike is an AMAZING MU artist. She did my make up for my maternity shoot & did a wonderful job. I love that she works with various skin tones & her attention to detail is on point. I told her I wanted a natural look that had a pop to it & she did exactly what I asked for & more. Not to mention her studio is very nice and relaxing. Highly recommend FaceAffairs as you will not be disappointed!

She is the best!
Bonike is the best!!!! Face affairs did the make-up of all 6 of my make-up, my bridesmaids, my mother in law and mom. Everyone looked beautiful in the short amount of time they had to work with. Bonike was flexible through the planning and the day of my wedding. She even stayed to touch up my make-up after the ceremony. She has a positive spirit that was a welcome addition in our bridal sweet. Thank you Bonike!!!

I am not a make up user at all so all I wanted for my wedding is to bring out my natural look without looking like I have heavy make up on. I went searching high and low for a make up artist who would match my skin complexion. After 2 failed trials where I came out looking like I was part of a Halloween parade, I finally found THE ONE. Bonike 's passion and professionalism for what she does is beyond words. What I love the most is how she works with you step by step asking how you feel as she goes. She will fix anything to make sure you are comfortable. Best of all the products she uses are amazing and soo light not only do you look like you have no make up, it feels like it. And don't get me started on her lash application skills. Feels soo natural!!! I WISH I COULD KEEP THEM FOREVER (says the girl who did not want to add lashes) Book her and I promise you will not regret it. I know I definitely will over and over!!!!

I could not have had my wedding day without her!! Even if other things were stressing me out, I knew she would go above and beyond to make me look amazing on my wedding day. We had a 2-day event and for both days, I looked awesome. During the trial session, she made sure she got an idea of what kind of makeup I’m comfortable with and took notes on it. Best MUA!

Bonike was amazing!! I was concerned about my oily skin, but I looked flawless all day long! Never felt more glamorous! She had all my ladies looking gorgeous. I requested a soft natural looking romantic look and she delivered! She's more than a make up artist!! She helped out in so many ways where she saw the need to keep things going smoothly!! Bonike was very flexible and worked with our schedule and different locations. She was professional, on time and has an amazing attitude despite a mishap that was no fault of her own!! She had us all laughing and the atmosphere was light hearted the whole time! Definitely Book HER!! Wish I had more pictures to share, still waiting on the photographer.

Bonike did a great job on myself, all of my family, and friends! She rolled with the punches as the request from faces grew from 3 to 9 as we inched closer to the wedding, and I really appreciated her flexibility with that! My makeup was long lasting and it took some effort to get it off at the end of the night as I was still flawless. I'm not into makeup and really only do my eyes and some gloss, so looking back I probably would have stuck with the cheaper package as I didn't use the touch up kit she provided, not her fault, just personal preference! I would recommend her to brides of any completion as my crew looks like the rainbow and they all looked fabulous!

I cannot say enough positive things about Bonike at Face Affairs. If you have any hesitation at all about hiring her, please let this review put you at ease and just do it. I am so amazed with my makeup services with Bonike. I do not wear make up so having a consultation was very important for me. Bonike was able to educate me step by step on what she was using on my face and even asked me about my skin care regimen. I informed Bonike that I wanted to still look natural but have a little pop of color. Bonike's attention to details with everything she used on my face during consultation was awesome and easy to refer back to for my big day!! She reassured me that she had a vision based on what I explained to her. The outcome was beyond my vision!! I would like to also add that she did a marvelous job with my mother's make up as well. Bonike also reassured my mother that she would look nice and that it was okay to have on lashes for my special day. We received numerous compliments throughout the wedding day. Lastly, I loved how Bonike worked very well with all the other vendors for hair and make up for my wedding party and everyone was able to get the job done!!

I began looking for a makeup artist 7 months prior to my wedding. To my surprise, it wasn’t as easy as I thought to find the right makeup artist. I experienced that some makeup artist take a longer time to respond to emails or return calls. On the contrary, my experience with Bonike from the first time I contacted her it was wonderful. Bonike replied to my email and answered all my questions very quick. When I spoke with her to set up an appointment for makeup trial, she was very professional and pleasant to speak with. On the day of my consultation, I asked Bonike for a natural and classy look, because I don’t wear a lot of makeup and I wanted to feel comfortable on my wedding day. Bonike did an AWESOME job with my makeup. I felt comfortable, beautiful and flawless. On my wedding day, she arrived on time. She also did my mother's and sister's makeup and they looked beautiful. I am the first to admit that I am not a makeup guru, nor am I a fan of seeing women with a face full of heavy, unnatural makeup. Bonike is simply FABULOUS. I was skeptical at first of whether I needed airbrushed makeup, whether I should hire one of the well known makeup companies for such an important day, etc. You brides know the drill - there is so much pressure to look perfect and to have the look last through the day/night. After my trial session with Bonike, all my fear subsided and I knew that I had found the right person for our big day. Tomi of Face Affairs was exactly what I wanted. Although I found her on Instagram and never did a bridal consultation, she applied my makeup exactly as I wanted. I don't wear a lot of color and prefer very little makeup in terms of foundation, powder, eyeliner, etc. and she took my concerns into consideration and everything turned out wonderful. She also ensured my bridal party's makeup was similar to mine and my wedding colors. I was very pleased with the services and would contact if I need to get my makeup done for a special event. I would love even if she had a class and I could learn a few tips from her, I know I would take alway something.

As a British having a wedding in America, I was so confused where to start from. But as I was looking on wedding wire I came across Bonike. She got back to me soon as I emailed her. On my wedding day she made me feel really relaxed as I was very stressed, she encouraged me through out my session. She's very professional and responsed to my text, calls and emails on time. I did a trial with Bonike for my engagement shoot and immediately booked her after for my wedding. She is able to take your vision and bring it to life. I was going for two completely different looks for the engagement shoot vs wedding and she perfected them both. Bonike was fun, detailed, and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend her!

Bonike was an absolute doll. I'm not that into make up, the term we coined for my wedding weekend was that I'm a minimalist. Because of timing I did not have the opportunity to do a consult/trial with her, so I was more than nervous, but she took her time and listened to what I wanted (with my sister's help for explanations). She was pleasant, friendly and responsive. Everything a stressed out bride could pray for. She blew my fears out the window and I would surely recommend her again. Thanks Bonike!!!

Bonike was a dream! She was very prompt during the planning phase and extremely easy to work with. She was on time and her and her assistant took care of my bridesmaids, mom and mother in law with great ease. Very positive energy and made all of the girls feel amazing. Bonike of FaceAffairs is a God-send. She went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I am not big on make-up and wanted something very natural. She delivered while still making sure I had the glam and glitz for my wedding day. She was even able to make a flawless face with all of my squinting and squirming . Even my new husband, who does not like make-up at all, said it looked beautiful. During the trial, she took her time and asked a lot of questions to ensure i was happy; this made the day of process go much easier and I am glad I did it. We were running behind on time and short on hands to help, Bonike stepped-in to help without even being asked. She is a beautiful human-being with a gift that I hope you get to experience one day. I am keeping her number for my next event. Also, I want to throw in that her prices are very reasonable and she is worth every dollar.

I absolutely adore Bonike. She was so patient and accommodating, completely understanding the surprises that can ruin a wedding day schedule....yet she made sure I was on time and beautiful! I recommend her for any event. She also communicates very well, asking questions I didn't even think of, and was very professional through the whole process. In other words she was able to dicipher what my vision was and execute perfectly on my special day. She was professional and receptive during the makeup trial, always ensuring that she achieved the look I wanted and not her idea of what my makeup should look like. Her approach to the makeup trial is one of the best I encountered. It was reasonably priced and comfortable and clean at her home. For the wedding day, she mantained excellence. Bonike was prompt and knew exactly what I needed as she'd written detailed notes about the colors and technique we'd used at the trial. She was also flexible and willing to make a last minute change for me. Overall, she is fantastic. And it doesn't hurt that she's funny and easy to get along with. I highly recommend her!

I found Face Affairs on WeddingWire and contacted her ahead of time. Bonkie was very responsive and continued to follow up with me. I schduled my makeup trial and secured the look I was going for on my second trial. We worked out the wedding day schedule that was good for both of us. She was flexible to travel to my house and then to the venue on my wedding day. In addition, she stayed until I cut the cake that evening being hot and a summer wedding. What can I say? She did an amazing job on me and my bridal party. Even my husband who's not big on makeup loved my look. We were a bit behind on tim, but she's amazing at what she does and knows what she's doing. I don't do make up much and when I do, its bare minimum. My now husband can also be very particular about my make up as well... biggest thing was that I still wanted to look like me on wedding day. I called several vendors before I called Face Affairs (Bonike), but when I talked to Bonike we just clicked and I knew she was the one. I used Face Affairs for a special affair on March 11, 2016. She made my face up and I looked absolutely gorgeous. I used Face Affairs for my wedding on three different dates: April 29, April 30, and May 7. Bonike also made up my 87 year old mother's face and my two sisters faces. We all were so pleased with her service. She made us look so beautiful and flawless. The price was very reasonable compared to the other vendors I had called. Bonike is very prompt and is a very professional young lady. Bonike AKA (Face Affairs) tied my Gele and did my makeup for my traditional wedding this past weekend. I have worked with a lot of makeup artists in the past, but Bonike brought makeup and Gele to a whole new level. She made me look GORGEOUS, absolutely ANGELIC. In fact, she made me look so good that when I saw my pictures, I cried with happiness ????
She listened and completely exceeded my expectations. And by far. She is hands down the best, most professional make up artist I have ever met. Oh my...where to start with this amazing lady. First time talking to Bonike, I knew she was going to be my makeup artist after trying so many others prior. In the process I discovered she sold geles and tied them. On my wedding day Bonike was there on time. From start to finish. The amount I paid Bonike is nothing close to what she did for me. She was professional, timely, understanding and above all knows how to do exceptional makeup and knows how to tie the gele. I was glowing. I wish I could post pictures for everyone to see .
