Working with Catherine from Events by La Fete was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Our day was seamless, and that’s entirely thanks to her incredible organization and care.

Catherine is the perfect combination of professional and personable — she’s detail-oriented, attentive, and genuinely cares about making your day everything you’ve dreamed of. She took the time to really listen to what we wanted, offered thoughtful suggestions, and handled every detail with such grace that I was able to completely relax and enjoy the day.

From start to finish, Catherine made the planning process smooth, fun, and stress-free. I can’t imagine our wedding without her! I’d recommend Events by La Fete to anyone looking for a planner who truly goes above and beyond.

Catherine is amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Catherine and La Fete. She was our day-of-coordinator for a wedding at the Carolina Inn, but she did so much more and was with us every step of the way. She thought of everything, was so organized, and made our weekend entirely stress free. I lived in CA while planning our wedding in NC, and she was always available to meet in person when we were in town. I'm not sure I would have felt the need to book a coordinator or planner if it were not a part of our Carolina Inn package, but now I cannot imagine not doing it. The fact that my mom and mother-in-law just got to sit back and enjoy the day was everything. Thank you Catherine!!!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with La Fete and specifically with Catherine Langhart – she is truly a professional but you also feel like you have a friend helping you through the process. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything, she went above and beyond answering the million questions we had. She was able to point us in the right direction for other vendors we used, and really made everything as seamless as can be in the months leading up to our wedding, and including the day of the event. She was organized, calm, and put everyone at ease throughout the whole day. Love her so much. Can’t thank her enough!

Best Wedding Decision Ever!!

I cannot stress enough how amazing it was to have Events by La Fete as my wedding planner and designer. One of the first vendors I booked was Events by La Fete and they made my entire wedding planning process so enjoyable. Casey went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. I live in Washington, D.C. which made it harder to go to vendors, walk throughs, etc (especially with COVID) but Casey made it so seamless. I felt comfortable having her help me make decisions and bringing my wedding vision to life. Not only did we plan a Fall and Spring wedding (again, COVID), Casey always had a positive outlook and optimism. She was so professional and helpful during this crazy, unprecedented time in wedding planning. I could not have imagined going through this last 1.5 years of planing without the help of this amazing team. What I loved most about Casey was her honest opinions and her type A personality - she is so organized, efficient, and responsive, and fun!! I also worked with Catherine the month leading up to my wedding and wedding day and WOW she is a gem! The wedding day went so smooth and she had such a calming presence the entire day. I seriously have no complaints and could go on and on with examples of how amazing this team is! I highly recommend using Events by La Fete for both wedding planning and design! The best decision EVER!

There are not enough words that can describe how amazing Casey and the La Fete team are. These girls make you feel like you're their top priority every question, text, call, meeting etc. Hiring Casey for our full service planner created such ease during the entire planning process, which began two years ago. We had a beautiful plan in place and then COVID hit. It was an uphill battle deciding on what to do, but ultimately, Casey helped keep me on track and I trusted every plan she came up with. When the wedding weekend came, it was calling for rain. At this point, I was completely out of decisions and wanted to enjoy the time I had with friends and family so I told her to make the call for us! The rain held off right as we needed it to and her team, alongside a sea of amazing vendors, quickly moved our indoor ceremony, outside. Seeing her make that call for us made me so happy. She knew that was the goal for us, but with any type of tricky weather it was a hard call to make but she made the right one!!! She truly allowed the wedding day to feel seamless, easy, and fun for all family and friends! She put together a picture perfect design for our intimate wedding and it truly was a dream come true! She worked countless hours with all vendors to help create the most magical day! After a week of being married, everyone is still complimenting how amazing everything went and looked and I can only thank Casey and La Fete for this! Thank you x1000000!

Wonderful experience working with Charlotte

I can't say enough wonderful things about Charlotte and the entire Events by La Fete team. I am a type A, organized person, and I didn't expect to need a wedding planner because I was convinced I'd have everything planned out without a problem. However with COVID-19 and re-planning our wedding 3 times, I thought it might be time to bring in the professionals when our final plan went from being at a venue to in our backyard. The second Le Fete was brought on board, they immediately took charge, brought up questions I hadn't considered, and gave me the gift of being only excited about the big day, rather than stressed about everything going to plan. Charlotte worked with all my vendors to make sure they were aware of where they needed to be and when, and everything went off without a hitch - and if something didn't, Charlotte handled it and I was never aware of it on the big day. On the day of the wedding, Charlotte was always there the second I needed her. I would start to look across the dance floor to find her, and before my eyes could scan for more than a few seconds, she was by my side asking me what she could get me. Every time my husband or I would start to head to the bar, Charlotte had a new drink for us in her hand before we could get off the dance floor. For someone that was on the fence about hiring a planner, I can't imagine doing it without them. It was so incredible for us and our families to not have to worry about any of the logistics and just focus on this exciting step we just took and having the best time on the dance floor!

Hire Catherine!!

My husband and I were married at the Merrimon-Wynne House last weekend, and we are so happy we had Catherine as our day-of coordinator. She is so friendly, professional, organized, and kind. She is an expert at wedding planning. She answered all of my questions right away and made communication easy! She helped ease my nerves the day of the wedding and made everything beautiful. We are beyond happy we found Catherine! She is amazing.

Catherine is a gem!

Live out of state and contacted La Fete to help plan a rehearsal dinner in the Old Well Room at Carolina Inn for 65 people. From the initial phone conversation to the night of the dinner, Catherine was amazing. She lined up and attended vendor appointments with me when I flew in to make decisions, listened to my vision, and corresponded frequently with status updates. She is attentive to detail, creative and compassionate, and a joy to have partnered with to make the rehearsal dinner a memorable experience for the bride and groom. She is a blessing and true asset to her company and anyone who has the opportunity to work with her for an event. Thanks for a spectacular evening!

Casey was the BEST planner (and friend!)

I’m not sure there is a better way to explain how great Casey was than my fiancé saying over and over “Casey is the S*!T!” We were moving across the country to San Francisco from NC while wedding planning (which I don’t recommend), but she was there to manage everything back home. She even worked West Coast hours! I would send her tons of texts at dinner time in SF and she’d respond that night when she should have been sleeping. Anything we’d talked about would be knocked out before I’d even woken up the next day. Her responses never took more than a few hours (generally a few minutes)!

Our trolley for transportation broke down the wedding morning, and she quickly managed the process and came up stretch bus that ended up being more fun AND it was handled before I had time to panic. :) She was so organized, creative, and fun.

Our design came together beautifully. I was blown away stepping into a classic ballroom without much character to a glowing candle lit room covered in stunning fabrics and gorgeous flowers.
But aside from all of the things her job “required,” she did more. She truly became a friend, a confidant, a therapist, a mediator, etc. She helped schedule hair appointments, picked which white dress I should wear to what event, etc. She truly went above and beyond and was there for ANYTHING.
We could not have picked a better person to make the planning process and our big day truly perfect! You cannot go wrong hiring her.
Her assistant, Rachel, was also great day of at getting us where we needed to be and when and keeping a bride running slightly behind cool, calm, and collected!

Amazing!

WOW! What a dream team and an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Not only did La Fete bring our vision to life but went above and beyond in creating a day that was truly magical. After just a few conversations they knew exactly what we were looking for to make our big day something we will never forget. They kept us organized and calm even during some moments of stress. Their guidance and expertise helped us navigate this crazy and wonderful process, but most importantly they made the whole wedding planning process FUN which allowed us to enjoy our engagement and the entire wedding weekend knowing they had everything under control. They always made time for us, worked around our schedules and were always available to answer even the smallest of questions. Catherine was essential to making every aspect of our day beautiful and personal. From our very first meeting, I knew Catherine was something special. As people without strong natural inclinations when it came to wedding planning, Catherine guided us through every step without making it seem too complex. She found us the best vendors, gave wonderful advice, and made our vision come to life so effortlessly! She also worked well within our budget and was super flexible with all our requests and last-minute changes! Most importantly, Catherine was supportive and attentive through every stage of the process- we were so grateful for how responsive she was to calls and emails. She coordinated with all our vendors so I wasn't scrambling to contact dozens of people when our guest count changed or our timeline shifted. She is so knowledgeable and talented and we just knew we were in the best hands with her. It was such a dream to work with Catherine!

On a personal level, Catherine was so personable and easy to work with- so many guests and members of my bridal party raved about how wonderful Catherine was! We could not have asked for a better planner and would hire her a million times over! We only wish we had hired her sooner! Finally, these words truly cannot do her justice- hire her and you'll see!

Phenomenal. Cannot Recommend La Fete & Casey Enough

We worked with Casey Harris from La Fete and she was PHENOMENAL!!! I truly cannot say enough about how great Casey was to work with. She made our planning process so much less stressful than it would have been and she felt like a great friend the whole time. Casey has an awesome eye for detail and is so detail oriented--she didn't let one thing go unplanned. She is also professional, hard-working, and extremely responsive (which is not always the case with wedding vendors!) Casey went out of her way to respond to my emails, calls, and texts at all times and also to reach out to remind me of things I hadn't yet done and needed to do. At the beginning of our planning process, she sent out a timeline for everything we needed to get done and she was great about keeping us to it, while also being flexible if we needed more time. She and La Fete also helped us with so many great things that other wedding planners didn't offer to help with--specifically assembling & sending out our wedding invitations and tracking the replies (!!), creating a budget spreadsheet for us to use throughout the process, ordering items for our welcome bags and other decorative items that we picked out, etc., all of which were incredibly helpful. Finally, Casey gave me advice on all things wedding-related, including my dress and veil, our first dance song, etc. She definitely didn't need to give us advice on these types of things, but her doing so was so helpful and is just another thing that sets her & La Fete apart from other wedding planners. All in all, I really cannot recommend Casey & La Fete enough. They were worth every penny and more and you will be so happy if you hire them to plan your wedding!

Catherine is the best!

Sitting down with Catherine I not only felt like I was working with a knowledge professional (which I was) but I also felt as if I was sitting and chatting with a friend who sincerely cared about my wants, needs and frustrations with wedding planning. I had so many ideas and thoughts running through my head and Catherine listened to my jumbled rants and turned them into the most spectacular wedding day!

I can't thank her enough for stepping up and being such a helpful hand when things not only went right but wrong; like our priest not showing up for the rehearsal! I was basically in tears when she told me to turn off my phone and enjoy my last single night and to leave all the worrying to her, she ensured me, that my (now) husband and I, would without a doubt, be married the next day :) She was right and handled a very stressful situation seamlessly!

Catherine was so flexible and always answered my emails and phone calls immediately! I can't thank her and all the ladies at La Fete enough!

I can't say enough good things about Casey Harris. Hiring Casey was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding, I would not have been able to plan or execute my vision without her. She went above and beyond during every interaction I had with her to ensure my wedding day was exactly what I envisioned. She was always patient with me and responded quickly whenever I had a question or needed help. She made extra visits to my venue and to my vendors leading up to the wedding to help out when I unexpectedly moved out of state. Casey is incredibly talented, organized, professional and kind. My husband, my parents and I can't begin to say enough about Casey Harris and the entire Events by La Fete team. I was a bride living in Atlanta and getting married in my hometown of Raleigh, NC. My mom and I are typically very organized but the distance between the two of us made it hard to get as organized as we would have liked. I called Events by La Fete, spoke to Casey, and after our conversation, I knew immediately that she was going to be our saving grace as our Day-of-Coordinator.
Casey was professional, calm, organized, dependable and trustworthy. She made a reasonable timeline, reached out to all our vendors, answered all our emails and phone calls in a timely manner and above all was an absolute JOY to work with. She made herself available when I was in town to meet and was wonderful about checking in with us throughout the whole planning process. Casey put my Mom and I at ease and made the last few months before our wedding less stressful than I ever could have imagined. She completely understand our vision for the wedding day and did everything in her power to make it happen for us.
My parents still say that hiring Casey was the absolute best money they spent for our wedding day. We were able to relax and enjoy the entire weekend knowing that she was there. Casey was so fabulous that I have recommended her to two of my best friends! (one hired Casey for her August 2017 wedding and one who is planning her August 2018 wedding) I will continue recommend Casey over and over and over again! You will not be disappointed - I promise!

Hands down, the very best thing we did in planning our daughter’s wedding was hiring LaFete for design, production and weekend coordination. We worked with Katie and she was so easy to work with and incredibly patient while answering our endless questions over the course of the year we spent planning. Her expertise and great relationships with the vendors made dealing with the contracts so easy; she really took all that off our shoulders completely, which was a huge relief! Our daughter had a very specific vision for the design aspects and Katie was able to create exactly what she wanted, making great suggestions that ensured that we focused spending on where the most impact would be. She was very attuned to our daughter’s desire for certain things to be unique and it was really fun working with her ideas to make that happen. Katie is great at solving problems calmly and quickly, and very reassuring when the second-guessing of decisions happens! I’m sure she spent way more time listening to me worry about things than she should have(!), but not once did she make me feel like i was wasting her time. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that we just had a fabulous experience working with Katie and her staff. I honestly cannot imagine how we could have ever done it without them!

I agonized over first whether to hire a coordinator, and second, who to hire. I am beyond happy with selecting Casey Harris at La Fete to be our Day-of-Coordinator. Casey is professional, organized, and most importantly, makes you feel like she has everything under control without being demanding or controlling. We had to plan most of our wedding from DC and didn't even meet Casey face-to-face until the rehearsal, but that didn't matter at all. She was extremely responsive, answering all of my silly questions, giving me local vendor recommendations well before our contract technically started, and helping mitigate a few last minute changes due to snow. On the day of, Casey and Catherine kept my parents at ease and even ran out to purchase snacks for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. They made sure we got food right away, reorganized decorations as needed, and just were everywhere at once making sure the night ran smoothly. I can't recommend Casey highly enough. Thank you, Casey, for being such an integral part of our wedding - we are so appreciative!!

I chose La Fete because they had a lot of experience with events at my venue, the Merrimon Wynne. When I started working with Casey, I had no idea how much she would actually contribute to our day. She was beyond helpful, kind, and truly a blessing to work with! We had hiccups the day of the wedding with guests that had RSVP'ed no and then showed up- but I did not even know about it until after the wedding because she was a rockstar and just handled it! I would work with her again in a heartbeat!

We hired Casey Harris with Events by La Fete to be our full-service planner for our wedding in August 2017. It was hands down the best decision that we made in the planning process. I wish I could give Casey 10+ stars in all the categories listed on WW! We honestly would not have been able to pull off such a beautiful, memorable and "hitch-free" wedding without her.
We came to La Fete about 7 months prior to our wedding and were quite stressed about the whole process. On top of family health issues, I was about to start a new job, my husband was in medical school, and we were in the process of buying a house. Long story short, Casey saved the day. She was so knowledgeable, understanding, and super easy to communicate with throughout the planning process and could be reached 24/7 (literally). She coordinated with all our vendors and took care of any questions or concerns we had promptly and professionally. Overall, leading up to the event Casey could not have been more "on top of it" - she not only made the planning process run smoothly, she also made it more fun and stress free.
Another thing that sets Casey (and more generally, Events by La Fete) apart is not only impeccable taste/style and attention to detail, but also her desire to bring the clients vision to life. She did a wonderful job getting to know us and our wedding vision, and thus worked to not just create 'A' tastefully styled wedding but 'OUR' tastefully styled wedding. When I wanted to make a large addition (hanging greenery!) to the design two weeks before the wedding, she was more than accommodating – she took charge excitedly and worked non-stop with our flower vendor to make it happen. It ended up being one of our favorite details of the wedding!
Getting to know Casey was one of our favorite parts about wedding planning and it was so amazing to watch her bring our big day to life. I highly recommend Casey Harris and Events by La Fete to anyone looking for the perfect stress-free wedding day!

I cannot speak highly enough about our wedding planner, Casey Harris. She was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish, but she absolutely shined the day of the wedding. From little mishaps to big stress, she is the reason that my husband and I were able to focus on enjoying the day instead of stressing out about keeping things running smoothly. When I dropped off all the set-up items (menus and photos and guest book type things) for Casey the Friday before our reception, I felt like I was passing off all my worries into her very capable hands. My mom asked me after we got back from the honeymoon "Who was that lady? The one taking care of everything? She is a star." Yep. That's Casey. Definitely.

I know, I know. You might be thinking "Gosh, do I really need an event coordinator?" With all the other money we spend on a wedding, it's hard to keep shelling it out. I'm here to tell you: YES! Go for it. If you want to enjoy the day you are pouring all this blood/sweat/tears/cash into, hire Casey Harris. An absolute gem.

Casey, we cannot thank you enough. Thank you for fixing our cake stand fiasco. Thank you for setting up the extra large cake slices and flowers in the hotel room. Thank you for getting my mom and mother-in-law to take flowers home. My husband and I still sing your praises every time we reminisce on that day.

I planned our Durham wedding from Chicago, and hired Casey Harris to be our day-of coordinator. She was so responsive and accommodating to my schedule for whenever I was in town for meetings, and she was there for me every step of the way. When we ran into some difficulties with a vendor, Casey immediately put me at ease and took care of the situation so that I wouldn’t need to ruffle any feathers. My husband and I feel so incredibly lucky to have had Casey as a part of our wedding day, and we both agreed that she and our photographer were the best investments for the wedding, hands down. Casey is sweet, organized, calm, and funny. She was able to organize our group with many guests who don’t speak English as a first language. She made our timeline work with our requests, and everything went so so perfectly. (If it didn’t, I have no idea because she took care of it). I wasn’t bothered by any questions on the day of, and both of our parents were so happy with the organization of the day. I completely agree with all of the other raving comments about La Fete, these ladies know what they’re doing and they are so incredibly professional and efficient, while also being personable and caring. Casey was everywhere at once, and she remembered everything so when we left the hotel the next day, nothing was lost and we knew where everything was. While I don’t plan on having any more large-scale events, I am tempted by the idea simply to spend more time with Casey.

From the very beginning, Casey and Katie with La Fete put all of my nerves at ease. We booked Casey for the month of service and it was the single best decision we made during our wedding planning, literally. Casey went above and beyond to help with decor, menu tastings, answering late night and early morning emails and questions and creating an iron clad itinerary for our whole weekend. Our wedding felt like a Christmas miracle in the sense that it went off without one hitch- that was ALL Casey Harris. If I could pass one single piece of advice to brides in the triangle, it would be to book La Fete!

Book Carly with La Fete! She was amazing. I got Carly for the weekend off coordinator but she did a lot more for me than just the weekend. I met with Carly a couple times before the actual wedding and went through logistics of the wedding, what I needed to make things perfect, etc. She made everything more relaxing and the whole day ran so smoothly because of her. If you are contemplating getting a coordinator or not because you think you can do it all on your own, you cant. With a full time 50 hour a week job, Carly contacted all of my vendors for me and created an amazing timeline I shared with my family and wedding party. She was also the sweetest person ever. Everyone loved her and she was amazing at making sure I did not stress the day of, even with some rain and wind gusts up to 30mph. Thank you so much Carly for everything you did! you are amazing and I would, and have already, recommend you to everyone :)

I'm not sure words can do justice what Katie and La Fete did for us and our wedding -- we hired Katie as our full wedding planner. My (now) husband and I got married halloween weekend, and had a vision of a magical harrry potter-esq wedding. Katie made all of our dreams/vision come to life in THE MOST BEAUTIFUL way. From the beginning, Katie worked with us to get a feel for the type of people we are (a little quirky, wanted to have fun), things we liked, and what we envisioned. She was a joy to work with personally, and immediately I could tell how creative, easy-going, organized, and professional she was. I was the type of bride with a vision, but no time to plan, and a strict budget. I knew from the start Katie understood 100% both what we wanted and how much involvement I'd be able to handle. She took care of EVERYTHING. We got married at in Durham NC, and she TRANSFORMED an otherwise empty warehouse space into the most magical, spectacular, breath-taking reception. Seriously, when I say Harry Potter, Katie even figured how to get candles hanging from the ceiling.

On the logistics side, I had zero concerns about any vendors or day-of details, since Katie was the POC and organized the entire timeline, which went off flawlessly. Even though people had told me the weeks leading up to the event would be stressful, I can honestly say that knowing Katie had everything under control, I did not feel that in the slightest. On the day of, Katie and her team picked up all the things we had at our house without us, was there to direct the room setup, and stayed through the ceremony to the room flip for the reception to make sure it all went according to plan. After that, her wonderful assistant Casey took over and made sure the rest of the night went smoothly. Every guest raved about the room, the details, and overall how special and unique the night was, which is what we wanted. I cannot recommend them enough, especially Katie. Thank you La Fete!!!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Casey Harris at La Fete. She is worth her weight in gold. From the time I reached out to Casey, to the end of our reception, she was incredbily attentive and professional. After the first meeting we had with Casey, I felt that a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders and that we were in the right hands. She is a godsend and one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. Our wedding ran like a well-oiled machine and I am convinced that it was all due to the hours of work that she put in. There wasn't a single thing that I would have changed about our special day. She reached out to all of our vendors to make sure that their timelines matched up, she wrote a detailed schedule of how the day's events would go, she worked our rehearsal when our officiant couldn't make it, she worked the entire wedding day to make sure everything went off without a hitch, and made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed. I swear she has 12 hands; she was everywhere at once. We cannot thank you enough for all you did for us girl! Choose Casey to be your coordinator and I promise you will not be disappointed! We love her!!

I worked with Katie Dunn to design and coordinate my destination wedding in Charleston, SC. She was very easy to work with and did an amazing job coordinating vendors. She was more than willing to research Charleston vendors to find the companies that best fit my vision for the wedding. She traveled to Charleston with me to meet with our caterer, event rental company, baker, florist, and venue manager. I was impressed with Katie's organization and attention to detail. Our destination wedding weekend was flawlessly managed and the wedding ceremony and reception flowed perfectly.

Carly was our day-of planner, and she was wonderful to work with. I felt so comfortable with her, and so comforted having her there on our wedding day. We hired Casey as a day of coordinator. We knew that we wanted our family to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding instead of worrying about the wedding weekend details. We had already made most of the wedding plans and details, Casey was there to make sure we had all our ducks in a row and any details we might have missed. Casey was my lifesaver for my July 31 wedding! I was planning the wedding myself up until two weeks before when I realized I simply couldn't do it all. I contacted Katie and she immediately put Casey on the job as day-of coordinator. Both Casey and Katie were super flexible, working within my budget and at rapid-fire speed to take care of the thousand last-minute details I forgot to plan! I am most incredibly grateful to Casey for the moral support--the cheerful texts she sent, and her can-do attitude that made everything suddenly seem so much easier. It all fell into place, she contacted vendors for me, passed out the flowers to the wedding party, cleaned the chalkboard at the end of the night, and generally just solved unsolvable problems! My wedding went off without a hitch and I am so glad I used La Fete!

We hired Carly to be "the day of" wedding planner for my daughter's wedding. Carly met with us two months before the wedding and created a timeline and to do list for us to follow in the weeks leading up to the day of the wedding. It all came off without a hitch! If there were any issues that came up Carly and Cassie handled them. I felt like a guest at my own party. They were responsive, professional, flexible and did not say no to any request for help, a direction or an opinion during the entire process. We could not have done it without the help of Carly and La Fete!

Carly Abernathy with La Fete was amazing! We had her for our day-of wedding coordinator for our Carolina Inn wedding in April 2015. Carly has done tons of weddings at the Carolina Inn and knows EVERYBODY in this whole area, so had great insight into vendors and also a great relationship with our catering manager (Heidi Werner at the Carolina Inn, also amazing) and DJ (Randy Bennett with Joe Bunn DJ, fantastic). We could not have asked for a more spectacular day for our daughter’s wedding. Everything went smoothly and stress free and we owe that all to Carly Abernathy and her assistant Casey. Having a weekend coordinator was a great decision… but hiring Carly was truly our BEST decision! She enabled us to relax and enjoy the most magical day. I cannot imagine how the wedding events would have gone without her!

Carly is everything we needed, all tied up in one charming package. Her organizational skills and timeline were flawless from the rehearsal to the reception. She is very professional with a delightful, playful personality and a smile that lights up the room. An excellent communicator, she makes sure everyone is informed and updated, which proved to be necessary for us, on a few occasions. She stands strong and when we had little glitches, everyone knew we could count on her to quickly resolve them. We did not have to worry about anything which was truly an unexpected blessing. I'm the MOB, and we used Carly for the weekend-of coordination. The wedding was not in our home town, so we needed someone to trouble-shoot the day, at least. Carly was so helpful, upbeat, and calming about all of the weekend events. I relied on her feedback for a few vendors as I contracted with them, and then she made the schedule work. She coordinated the timeline with the vendors, especially the photographer and reception venue, and made it all look easy. She stuck to our vision, never judging or trying to persuade us to do anything more or less than we wanted. I did not have to "jump in" to take care of anything; consequently, I thoroughly enjoyed our daughter's wedding day because of Carly!

We worked with Carly, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She was absolutely a dream to work with! From setting up a general timeline for the wedding (so I could tell everyone when and where to be) and flawlessly executing the entire event, she was a dream come true. The day of the wedding, when my personality would have me running around like a mad woman trying to make sure things were in place and perfect, I was sipping on champagne, watching Say Yes to the Dress with my bridesmaids, growing more and more excited about marrying my husband-exactly how it should be.

Every person I spoke with pre-wedding kept saying that I should be prepared for things to go wrong, that nothing will be perfect, and that at the end of the day it's about marrying the love of your life. All of this might be correct, but Carly made sure that the day was everything I could've asked for and maybe even more. I didn't notice any slip ups, which is the sign of the DREAM coordinator!

In addition to how extremely well Carly performed day-of, she was amazing leading up to the wedding. She met with me several times to discuss my expectations and the timeline, as well as promptly responded to all emails. She is one of the most organized, upbeat individuals I have ever met and I am so glad she was a part of our big day!

Decision-making is far from my forte, and being a picky Bride attempting to stay within some kind of budget - we could not have done it without Carly at La Fete. I had a vision and Carly helped bring it to life. She kept me on track throughout the year prior to my wedding - reminding me what needed to be done each month, and providing insight whenever needed. She was always available and flexible to make things happen around my crazy schedule during the planning process. She helped me research different options, and is extremely well-connected in the industry. When the day came, Carly and I were, without a doubt, on same page - she knew me, and knew exactly how to make our wedding day the most perfect, stress-free day of our lives (so far).

I hired Carly from Events by La Fete as my day-of coordinator early on in my wedding planning, and at the time I felt like it was kind of a splurge and maybe even not that necessary. I WAS WRONG!!!!!!! First of all, "day of" is more like 2 months prior until every last personal item from the venue is back in my possession, and Carly was absolutely, 100% essential in keeping me calm and focused, in keeping everything on track, and in making my wedding go off without a hitch (that I knew about anyway!) I cannot say enough good things. I would say the biggest benefit of having Carly (of the many!) was her ability to coordinate all of the vendors' set up times--NOT an easy task!! Carly is fun, energetic and has ninja-like organizational skills. Honestly, I couldn't have done it without her, and I credit her with my being able to actually enjoy my wedding :) Thanks Carly--YOU ROCK!!!!!

Hiring Katie Dunn was the BEST decision I made during the whole wedding process. I immediately felt comfortable with Katie and I really felt like she got my vision, even when I was not entirely sure myself what it was.

She was extremely responsive to questions and concerns and every vendor she recommended was amazing to work with. It was very clear how well regarded she is in the industry.

The weekend of the wedding I had zero concerns and complete pieece of mind. I know Katie would be able to handle whatever was thrown at us and she did. There were definitely some challenges due to weather, but they seemed minor because her and her team had solutions for every scenario and executed them perfectly.

My husband and I have said over and over there was nothing we would change about our wedding day and that is in large part to Katie and her team.

I would highly recommend wokring with Events by Lafete. It was well worth the investment plus more.

I had the pleasure of working with Katie from La Fete Event Planning and Design, and she assisted me with day of services as well as design. I've said this over and over to everyone I've talked to and I stand by it: I don't know WHAT I would have done without Katie to keep me on track! With so many tasks to complete in my year of planning, it's very easy to get overwhelmed and feel as though you're not getting things done on time. Katie was in constant contact with me to make sure I was where I needed to be and if I ever felt behind, she was always willing to assist with anything I needed and reassure me that things would get done. Additionally, Katie assisted me with design and I must say, I've had several guests tell me over and over that it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to. I may be biased, but I agree! The details and flower arrangements Katie worked with me on were absolutely perfect and I was so pleased with everything! Carly was awesome! I am the mother of a bride who was married on May4, and I wanted to be able to enjoy the day. Carly took the work to coordinate all the pieces and parts of the wedding and brought it under control to bring everything together flawlessly, down to telling us where to stand and what to do at every juncture during the day. Even my husband noted how glad he was that we had engaged La Fete's services - which is really, really high praise.

Katie Dunn with La Fete provided excellent service for my wedding. Initially she was hired to provide information for the theme, color scheme, and decorations. I found as we continued to plan that Katie would be most helpful in all aspects and hired her for the duration of my wedding planning. When bumps in the road occurred, Katie found a solution very quickly. I ended up working with Carly as well and she was a joy to work with, knew the details with limited time to review, and jumped into action where she was needed.

I lack the words to praise Katie Dunn of la Fete enough. Everything she did, from the moment we met to the moment she said good night at the end of our wedding, was perfection.

My husband and I don't live in the Raleigh-Durham area. Katie's knowledge of local vendors was exceptional. Her knowledge of design and her ideas to make our vision and theme come to life were exceptional. She did absolutely amazing things with our venue. Her vision made all of the components fit together flawlessly. On the day of our wedding, she coordinated all of our vendors without even the tiniest hiccup. Everything was in place, ready to go and looking perfect.

Beyond being exceptional at her job, Katie Dunn is just a joy to work with. She was responsive to emails, kind, funny, and amazing to talk to. She dealt with drama like a champion, and really is the consummate professional.

I would have paid double what Katie charged me without blinking an eye. Without her, we wouldn't have had a wedding. She was phenomenal, and I would STRONGLY recommend her to anybody planning a wedding in the Triangle.

Carly at Events by La Fete really made the difference in making my wedding reception go smoothly. We hired her for month-of coordination of our reception, so I cannot speak to the planning on the front end, but felt completely comfortable that I had transferred my vision to Carly and she saw it through perfectly! Carly was very easy to get ahold of, responded to emails quickly, and provided me her cell phone just in case I needed to get ahold of her. I didn't really believe it until I experienced it, but your wedding day really is a whirlwind, no matter how organized and prepared you are, and I was so thankful that Carly was there to keep everything moving forward. The biggest crisis of that day was Carly walking up to me with our DJ and a very serious look on her face - immediately I thought something terrible had happened. I had accidently given her and our DJ different songs for the cake cutting, and she wanted to know which one to use. I was instantly relieved and told her to choose, cause it really didn't matter to us at that point! I really can't thank her enough for making our day run so smoothly, and would recommend her and La Fete to anyone!

Choosing Katie Dunn with Events by La Fete was the best decision we made when planning our wedding! She helped us every step of the way and went above and beyond to ensure the day was everything we wanted. Katie worked with all of our vendors to make certain everyone knew all of the details of timing, where to go, how to set up, etc. Because of Katie's extensive knowledge of the wedding industry, she suggested great vendors to align to look and feel we wanted for our wedding. Because of her creativity and experience, our big day was so much better than anything we could have imagined!

We had a couple of significant family tragedies in the 6 weeks leading up to our wedding. With Katie's help, I did not worry about a thing during that time, which allowed me to focus on my family rather than the last minute wedding details. I was able to be stress free with Katie at the helm! I could not have made it through that time without her. Katie's professionalism and execution of our plan second to none! She far exceeded my expectations!

What we really appreciated was how responsive she was to details and changes we made along the way. She connected us with wonderful vendors who were all very easy to work with. The welcome bags she assembled were amazing!

The wedding day was everything we hoped it would be. Katie was calm, kept her sense of humor, and seamlessly orchestrated the busy timeline. I can honestly say that I was able to relax and enjoy every moment of the day. Thank you, Katie, for making our daughter’s wedding day perfect!

The first thing you should know is that my husband is a creative director, and I am a producer. We're two very creative control freaks. I know a lot of people say that, and are just indecisive... but no really. We are. On top of that, we live and work in NYC, so not only were we unfamiliar with companies in NC, our free time is extremely limited.

I reached out to Katie shortly after we booked the Old Well Room at the Carolina Inn for our wedding reception based on her portfolio online. I knew she had a solid sense of style and an eye for detail, but I was sold when I met with her. She's so calm and friendly - she's just a genuinely nice person.

Honestly, hiring Katie was the best decision we made. She knew who would help us accomplish our vision with just a little direction. She's very conceptual and detail oriented. She helped us quickly pull off even a few last minute ideas that we had. I knew we didn't need to micromanage the florist or the bakery or worry about how everything would come together. It just did, and it was perfect.

No one tells you how chaotic and overwhelming the day of your wedding is. Truly, no matter how organized you are, how much you've prepared, it's chaos. Katie was the calming force throughout the day - we didn't have to worry about anything. She made sure everything looked great, she made sure everything was happening on time, and above all, she made sure we were good. We had a great time at our wedding, and so did all of our guests. We worked with Carly at Fete and were so happy with her. She went above and beyond anything we could have asked for before the wedding and on our wedding day. I gave Katie 3 words :simple, elegant and fun. She took those words and created the most beautiful night of my life!! It’s not every day you find someone that blows you away both professionally and personally. For us, that person was Katie Dunn. She was the best decision my husband and I made during our wedding planning process.

On a professional level Katie knows how to manage that fine line of taking charge and getting things done while still being amazingly calm, calming (essential for a Type A bride), and fun. I must have written her hundreds of long, detailed emails – all of which she responded to quickly, effectively, and somehow always made me feel like her #1 priority. Every vendor she helped us select was phenomenal, easy to work with, and exceeded our expectations 10 fold on the day of. The impeccable organization, flow, and execution of our entire wedding weekend was 150% Katie’s doing and she truly went above and beyond on so many occasions I couldn’t begin to include them all. Lastly, I love that she won over my husband, and to say she did that with flying colors would be an understatement.

On a personal level Katie is simply amazing. Her humble and down to earth personality makes her easy to work with while her enthusiasm and fun loving disposition make her an absolute joy to share this experience with. In between all the crazy emails and meetings full of wedding details there were tons filled with jokes and laughter. It’s with all sincerity that I say one of the saddest parts about our wedding being over is that we no longer get to work and talk with her on a regular basis.

In a discussion a few weeks after our wedding, Katie asked if there was anything my husband and I would have changed about our wedding. Simultaneously and without hesitation we BOTH responded that we only wish we would have hired her sooner.

Katie was amazing from beginning to end and I truly cannot write a review that does her or her team justice. Our day was incredible and we are so thankful for everything Katie did and for the opportunity to have worked with her.

My daughter hired Katie as her wedding planner, and it turned out to be the best decision she made. I found Katie halfway through my wedding planning when I realized I was in over my head with too much to do. She immediately made me feel at ease over our initial phone call and from jumped right in to help with what was left to accomplish. She is friendly and has such a positive, fun attitude. She was willing to meet as many times as needed and was so flexible when changes were needed to be made. She did a great job of keeping my mom and I on track when we didn't see eye to eye. Katie continuously stayed in contact though email and was easy to get in touch with when needed. She made a very helpful timeline for the wedding weekend and touched base with all vendors beforehand. She handled all special items that needed to be transferred to the church and/or the reception. This was all so helpful for me not to worry about!! All the details were so perfect and the I was so pleased when I saw the reception room and all the details on the tables. All our guests keep telling us how beautiful everything was. I worked with Carly for my wedding, and she was awesome! She handled everything and took loads of stress off of me. She ran the rehearsal so well that my officiant told me that he has never seen a wedding planner/coordinator as efficient as Carly (and he has been doing weddings for decades). Katie Dunn is absolutely wonderful! At the beginning of the wedding planning process my mom and I were very overwhelmed so we decided to get a wedding planner. We interviewed 4 different planners. Katie was the most personable. La fete didn't really have a package deal that worked for us but Katie was more than willing to create a package that met our needs. Every vendor we used Katie referred to us. She did not steer us wrong, they were all just as wonderful to work with as she is! Also, Katie quickly responds to emails and is more than willing to answer all questions and find solutions to all/any issues. Lastly, my wedding day was perfect- everything I could've ever imagined. I do not have enough good things to say about Katie Dunn and La Fete. Initially, I thought hiring a wedding coordinator was an additional and extraneous expense. I am so glad I second guessed myself! My husband and I are busy professionals and do not live locally to NC. I cannot imagine what a nightmare wedding planning could have been without the help of La Fete. Katie is thorough, thoughtful, organized and efficient. She removed all stress from the wedding planning process by helping with vendors (from research, contract review and hiring to pre-wedding coordination), budget management, decor vision, timeline review and organization and day-of management. I had absolutely nothing to worry about on our wedding day because Katie was on top of it all. Katie is quick to respond to requests and is always so positive and helpful. On a personal note, she's also just a really cool person. It would be absolutely foolish to pass up the opportunity to work with Katie.

Katie was our wedding planner and am so thankful I was referred to her. She was recommended to me when I was presented with a list of people and I had no idea who they are.
I asked, "who on that list is the one that gets the job done, is to the point, focused and won't let herself get wrapped up in stress..."? They pointed to Katie's name with confidence...

For a brief time, I felt I hadn't needed a planner because I had 8 bridesmaids. But, I quickly realized I really did need Katie and her extensive experience to guide me. She took care of so many details that I hadn't thought of and she was ALWAYS quick to get back to me.

Katie led the rehearsal with grace, the venue was set up brilliantly and it allowed me so much more time with my bridesmaids before, during and after the wedding who travelled so far to be there.

All the guests were raving about how it was the best wedding they had ever been to!

You know how you play out this fairy tale in your head of what your dream wedding will be, feel and look like? Katie and her team make that happen. Without a doubt I know that without her continuous help, expert planning, stress-free process, genuine heart, excellent recommendations, sister-like guidance, dedicated management and catchy enthusiasm, my wedding would have been short of perfect.

With her, it was more than perfect. I will never forget two things: when I walked into our reception space. I was so deliriously happy all I could do was smile and skip (the guests were enjoying cocktail hour, don’t worry I know what you’re thinking). And the other was when I looked at our photos for the first time. Every detail was better than the last and each guest's face looked awestruck.

So, I can’t possibly list all the stand out things she did but here’s a start for prospective:

1. Katie communicated with the vendors and ensured we got a fair, if not better, price. For example, before her caterers were quoting me double what she would negotiate. That’s right, almost double for the almost the same menu (about $110 a plate down to about $60)! And she recommended a caterer who was the best of the best. That one single area of savings of many right there paid for her services!
2. Everything I wanted, I got it in some way while staying within the budget range. I wanted a specific charger that was super expensive and she made it work, with no real sacrifice at all.
3. She handled and sent out well organized time lines that took the stress out of the worst parts of the planning. I look back now and can’t even imagine the time I would have spent and time I would have lost if I didn’t have her by my side.
4. I asked her to follow up on a few last minute RSVPs and while I considered that out of scope, she gladly did it and made my life that much easier.
5. She would take all the details I had and keep them with her until the day-of. I must have had 50+ and each single thing made it (from framed family member pictures, to welcome bags, to favors) and set them up all with as much attention as I would have given each!

On wedding day about a million things could have or should have gone wrong but they didn’t. Any issues never made it to me. I remember nothing but being an amazingly happy bride in an unbelievably perfect setting. And I have La Fete to thank for that!

I consider her the most vital wedding investment I made... You will be in the best hands with La Fete! I adore, love and thank you from the bottom of my heart Katie!!

Katie ensured I received the wedding day of my dreams. I didn't have to think about a thing that day. She is extremely thorough, detail-oriented, knows how to get things done and incredibly sweet.

I lived in a different state and have a very demanding job. I think I wrote Katie a million emails on random ideas, lists of items that needed to get done and she made sure it was all taken care of. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and at ease that day, and it worked.

She was a joy to work with, and I only wish I had another event she could plan! Everything turned out beautifully. Even my parents, bridal party and guests commented on how professional and efficient my wedding planner was!

As you can see by Katie's other reviews, she is top-notch at what she does. We were initially hesitant about a wedding planner, as you'd think that it's an extra expense, but she was great throughout the entire planning process and even better the day of the wedding. We don't know what we would've done without her knowledge and planning of meticulous details. With the crazy events that occurred during our wedding day it was so great to have a planner, who you've already built a year-long relationship with, handle the details on your wedding day. Katie knew I did not want a traditional wedding and was able to come up with great out of the box ideas. She sent me e-mails with suggestions, ideas and visuals constantly and was not satisfied until I was happy with every detail.

Katie was spectacular! my mind was at ease and i know all the last minute details would not be forgotten and executed perfectly.
i was able to enjoy my wedding and not worry if anything was forgotten or misplaced. i also didn't have to run around following up with vendors the week of the wedding, because she had it all under control. i most definately recommend Katie and think everyone should have her on the day of their wedding.

La Fete provides amazing wedding planning services. Katie Cathey has young and fresh but elegant ideas. She does a great job at staying within budget and provides suggestions for savings. She was wonderful at dealing with vendors and family. I give La Fete my highest possible recommendation - 5+++++.

a 5 Star rating doesn't seem to be enough for how perfect my wedding day was because of the hard work of Katie and Rebecca. They did not miss a beat. We used La fete as a day of planner for our wedding, however, Katie was available throughout the planning process. The planners were wonderful. Everything went so smoothly, I was not stressed whatsoever and did not have to worry about a thing. I would highly recommend La Fete. They were helpful, sweet and very organized.

Working with Katie made my wedding planning experience the very best possible. Every small detail was taken care of. I don't know what I would have done with out Katie. I met with other planners who didn't seem to understand the vision I wanted to create at my wedding and reception. From the first meeting I knew that Katie would make my dream wedding a reality.

Everyone told me to prepare myself, that a few things would inveitably go wrong on my wedding day. I can honestly say however that my day was perfect and went off without a hitch. This was due in large part to Katie. Not only is she completely organized, on top of things, and easy to work with, she is extremely knowledgable and full of good ideas about weddings. I would definitely recommend her to any bride!

There is no single word to describe Katie Dunn, owner of La Fete Weddings & Events. Katie has been unforgettable and her services were imperative to making not only our wedding day, but also the entire wedding process, absolutely perfect.
One of the most amazing aspects of Katie is her personality, she is kind, sweet, funny, sincere, honest, hard working, and energetic. She made our wedding day seamless without bossing anybody around or yelling or getting irritated at all.
If it weren't for Katie, our wedding day would have been a disaster, she saved us from making fundamentally huge mistakes and helped us through everything. She was available whenever I needed her and responded to all my thousands of emails or calls immediately!
Katie also knew all the the perfect vendors and did all the dirty work that nobody ever wants to do. She chose professionals that made our day extraordinary.
I would recommend Katie to anyone because she is fabulous!! We LOVE LOVE LOVE her! Thank you Katie for EVERYTHING!

So there's just no enough words to tell Katie how grateful and thankful we are to have had her during this time! She is truly an amazing woman who has so much knowledge about weddings and proper etiquette, etc. I personally know that she was meant to be my wedding planner, our personalities clicked and the rest was history. I could not have been more pleased with Katie at La Fete. She is truly a wedding and event planning expert - she thought of details that I never would have thought of, anticipated issues in advance, gave us great ideas and suggestions throughout the wedding planning process and then kept the wedding ceremony and reception running seamlessly from start to finish. Not to mention, she is an absolute joy to work with - my entire family commented on what a wonderful job that she did. The entire day and few days leading up the event were completely stress free for me - because of Katie, I could just relax and enjoy the party because I knew all the details had been taken care of. Other than choosing the groom, she may the best decision you will make!

Look no further. Katie Cathey, owner of La Fete Weddings & Events is by far the most capable, reliable and trustworthy wedding/event planner out there. From decorations...chair, linen, tent, plate, silverware, drapery, furniture selection to invitations, cake and food selection as well as coordination of unending elements, etc, Katie nevers looses sight of what the client wants and she never stops until every last detail is taken care of and is in place. Katie is highly energetic and has incredible vision for how an event/wedding should look in the end. She helps her clients decide what they want their special day to entail and then she works around the clock to make sure the finished product is exactly what they wished for. As Katie says, she "LOVES her job" and it shows because she stays excited about each event she works on even past the day it's completed. Katie is a jewel to work with and you won't go wrong hiring her!!!

Katie Cathy at La Fete Weddings and Events was pleasure to work with. She made the whole wedding day (and all days leading up to it) run smoothly. She helped me prepare for the wedding by meeting with me and helping me pick out plates, tents, table cloths, etc.- everything that we would need for the wedding day. She took time to go to the reception site and meet with the florist and caterer to make sure everyone was on the same page. She was very eager to help in any and every way possible. I thought I could do it by myself, but decided to get her help and it was totally worth it. She thought of things I never would have dreamed of. Our wedding would not have been as perfect without her!!!

One of the best things about Katie (other than her creative ideas and fun personality) is her knowledge of and connection to wedding vendors. She knows so many professional, top of the line vendors in the Triangle area and they were all fabulous. She can do as little or as much planning as you need and is always available for random questions or a second opinion. I couldn't have gotten through the day without her. She was there for us every step of the way, and it was so reassuring to know that someone was there who knew what to do if something went wrong (which it didn't, of course!). Not to mention, she is a pleasure to be around and made the whole experience all the more fun. I would reccomend Katie to anyone!
