Hire your new best friend to plan your wedding!
As a wedding florist, I work with a lot of planners. Emily is one that definitely makes my job easier and is a person I look forward to doing weddings with. She is kind, down-to-earth, friendly, respectful, organized to a T, easy to work with, collaborative, an all-out lovely human being, and puts together an amazing wedding day! She also attracts the best couples, so I love that it brings all the good people together. Trust me when I say LOOK NO FURTHER! Our big day was absolutely perfect and it couldn’t have happened without Emily. She was meticulous in getting every detail right. She grew to know us and know our tastes, and made sure every decision she made was the right one for us. She made sure all of our vendors were on the same page, made sure the event was on time and ran smoothly, and put a lot of focus and care on us, the bride and groom. There was no greater peace of mind than knowing Emily and her fantastic team were there for us. Overall, working with Emily was an incredible experience and we can’t say enough about her. Book her to coordinate your event as soon as you can! -

11/10 would recommend working with Emily! My husband and I had the please of working with Emily, for our wedding at the Adamson House. I was in love with the venue, but a bit nervous as you have to bring everything in, so it had a lot more logistics to it. Working with Emily made it a breeze. She made sure all of our vendors were in sync (Catering, Rentals, Liquor, Florals, DJ, Transportation, Photographer, etc. etc.), and seeing that put my mind at ease. The entire process was smooth - we had regular communications to ensure everything was moving along as needed, and day-of went perfectly. We didn’t have to worry about a thing and many of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended.
Highly highly recommend working with Emily for your wedding!!! -

Emily was wonderful to work with. We appreciated that she always answered all messages in a timely fashion, and made herself available for whatever we needed during the planning process and in the days leading up to the wedding. We went for the 3 month package, since we only allowed ourselves 6 months to plan the wedding! Emily took it all in stride, and helped us to rein in our vendors and ensured that the event ran smoothly. I had no stress on my wedding day, and we appreciated how easy Emily was to work with. I was super particular about how I wanted the day to look and go, and Emily helped to execute my vision. Would strongly recommend! -

Emily was an incredible help throughout our entire wedding planning process. I can't imagine our day without having her expertise and support to guide us. She really went above and beyond at every step of the way- from recommending vendors based on what she thought would work well with us, to being so organized so things did not feel to overwhelming, and even supergluing a design detail on the day of- she really understands that this is the most special day of your life and treats it as such. We highly recommend Events by Emily Kay, particularly if you are looking to have a wedding at Malibou Lake, or anywhere in the surrounding areas. -

She's realistic, funny, gives great suggestions, and thinks of every detail that you didn't even know mattered but does. Emily was a dream to work with, and we can't recommend her enough! -

After 2.5 years of a wedding planning roller coaster, I can't believe our wedding day is over and I'm writing a review for Emily. I already miss planning with Emily! She is AMAZING!
We hired Emily for "Wedding Management" but she definitely did more than that! She supported us through the entire process, including a pandemic postponement and all sorts of curveballs. She also answered all frantic emails, texts, and phone calls from my mother and I in the weeks leading up to the wedding. She always had a solution for us.
Our wedding day was perfect thanks to Emily's magic wedding skills! She created a beautiful (and Covid safe) reception for all our guests. Everything from the dinner tables to the cake table to the escort card display was stunning! Every little detail we planned was taken care of by Emily, she literally remembered EVERYTHING. She even brought my husband and I water after our ceremony to keep us hydrated. AND she helped me bustle my dress! She's a saint!
Emily created the perfect timeline for us. The whole flow of the event was flawless! For the last 2 years I have been planning a Star Wars themed La Hora Loca (Latin wedding tradition) and the moment I told Emily about it, she was 100% on board. In that moment, I knew I picked the right wedding coordinator. Fast forward to the wedding day, our La Hora Loca was perfect! Somehow every crazy idea we had came to fruition because of Emily. She is the BEST! -

Thank God for Emily!!
My fiancé and I had already met with and sorta hired another wedding planner when we met Emily. It was late Feb, 2020, and we were placed at a table with her for an amazing dinner at The Lodge at Malibou Lake. We all hit it off immediately and when we were leaving that night I had this feeling that we really needed Emily for our wedding day. Fast forward 15months later and holy cow, I don’t know what we would have done without her!!!! Emily was incredible. She kept in constant contact with us through what turned into an extremely difficult year and even through her own personal challenges was always one step ahead and on top of everything. Emily is kind, personable, organized, knowledgeable and the kind of person you want running the show on such an important day. I gave her the worst outlines of how I wanted things to look but when I walked in to our intimate reception it was like she jumped in my head and knew exactly what I was thinking. It was perfect. Our wedding was so far from normal and presented many challenges from pandemics, postponements, location changes, confused parents, our sweet but exhausted 2yr old, zoom ceremonies and everything in between. Emily never faltered and kept the ship sailing with grace. We are beyond thankful to have had her! -

Where do I begin?...Like most COVID brides, 2020 threw every challenge at us that I could've ever imagined. From postponing our wedding from May to Oct, to down-sizing our 230-guest count to just under 50, our wedding coordinator, Alana, was our champion and guiding star every step of the way. She was always in our corner to help us talk through our options and to cheer us on, even taking the reigns with coordinating the initial postponement because I was too much of a wreck to face it. I'll never forget how she stepped in when I was feeling completely and utterly defeated. I can't say enough good things about Alana. And Emily - I don't know how many contract revisions she had to make for us, but I am SO appreciative of her flexibility given all of the never-ending restriction changes. Emily and Alana run a very well-oiled machine, and my OCD/Type A personality has a very keen appreciation of that :) ...fast forwarding to the day of the wedding: Alana NAILED it. She jumped in front of every issue that came up and GOT. IT. DONE. From steaming every single dress (unsolicited!), to curating an alternate photo plan given a sudden rainy/cold day, to handling a full timeline revision due to new COVID restrictions just 24 hours in advance, I could not have asked for better support. Alana played a critical role in helping my vision come to life while allowing me to sit back and enjoy all the hard work I had put into the day. There's nothing she didn't handle (even a crotchety photographer who didn't think the mask rule applied to him -_-). Alana gets 5 stars all around and a rave review from me - I couldn't have asked for more!! -

Mutual Weirdness Forever
What started as a very unique and beautiful whimsical dream wedding quickly turned into a COVID adventure. From the start Emily understood our Disney and quirky personalities and we bonded instantly. It was like we have been friends for years. We had so much fun with her at our tastings, venue tour, etc. Then COVID hit. She would message me frequently and check in. Listen to me cry, and share in the little accomplishments. She helped us turn things right side up again and have the most beautiful non-traditional wedding during a very unusual time in life. She was my rock and my friend and I miss her already. Anything I needed she didn't hesitate to help. She even let this OCD planner know when it was ok to wait on things a little bit longer. ;)
Emily you are a dream! My only regret is that we didn't get any day of pictures together. Thank you for all of your hard work and support. We love you! 10 Stars! -

Emily was an absolutely amazing wedding planner! We cannot recommend her enough.
We hired Emily for her full planning package. From the start Emily went above and beyond to make the process easy. Her recommendations and contacts made finding affordable and amazing vendors so easy. That alone would’ve made hiring Emily worth it, but she also kept us organized and motivated through the whole process building up to the wedding.
On our special day, she made things so easy. We didn’t have to worry about logistics or stressing about vendors knowing where to go, we only had a time we needed to be ready by and Emily took care of the rest. The day went so smoothly, Emily handled any hiccups and the whole event was amazing and stress-free.
Beyond all of that, Emily was so much fun to spend time with! We looked forward to our coffee planning session to catch up as well, and have kept in touch afterwards. Hiring Emily was one of the best choices we made in our planning process. Our wedding would not have been close to the same without her! -

Emily made my entire wedding experience AMAZING! I had a lot of hoops to jump through for my wedding due to the destination-ish location, family property as the venue, and 180 guests, but she made it all come together seamlessly. From helping figure out the nitty-gritty details, calling all of my vendors to make sure they were in line, helping me save money with purchases, and working her butt off the day of my wedding, she was hands down THE BEST PLANNER you could ask for. Her patience, grace, and natural planning skillset make her a wonderful person to include in your wedding. She really takes the time to focus on what the bride and groom want/needs and makes it happen. Avoiding all other distractions/influences to get our dream wedding done. I am so grateful for her work and she truly made our wedding a magical day. I highly recommend her for any occasion, but especially your wedding. Her team will make all of your dreams come true and she is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. -

Our experience with Events by Emily Kay was wonderful! Both Emily and Alana brought a calming presence to our planning process, and their local knowledge was indispensable since we were planning from NYC and don’t have family in New Mexico. Emily was our three-months-out manager and Alana worked on the decor and was the day of coordinator, since Emily had another wedding that weekend. We had already done a lot of research and design work, but Emily helped us wrangle our scattered ideas into a plan. Alana helped us execute the plan, as well as planning and executing all of our florals herself (ordered the flowers wholesale and she did the arrangements)! We were able to fully enjoy our wedding day without worrying at all about setup, coordinating vendors or deliveries, or any other logistics!
During the planning process, we had some issues with our venue and Emily fully resolved them so we didn’t have to have the awkward/confrontational conversations. She also helped us get in touch with some vendors who we were having a hard time reaching. She already personally knew most of our vendors, which helped make the coordination run smoothly. Alana brought a “make it work” attitude to the week leading up to our wedding. For example, we decided the week of the wedding that we would need a keyboard for our ceremony, and she immediately researched and found us one we could rent at a great price. Both Emily and Alana were very accessible by phone, text and email throughout the process and were a pleasure to work with. At first we were unsure if we were going to hire a planner, but we’re so glad we did! As soon as we had hired them, we felt so much calmer knowing Emily and Alana would take care of some of the more overwhelming or confusing organizational tasks. Other than a couple of very minor hiccups, our wedding day ran extremely smoothly and we were so happy, thanks in large part to Emily and Alana’s hard work! -

Emily is one of those gems you didn’t expect to find, and then when you finally get it, you can’t imagine your life without it. All I knew when I was planning this wedding is that I had friends in the industry that would also double as vendors. Emily took my modge-podge of friends and ideas and made everything come to life. She is detailed, organized, and very serious about the Bride and Groom enjoying themselves and having fun on the big day! She had no problem letting me know it was time for her to take over and I am so thankful she did! I had the most gorgeous wedding because Emily was so caring of my vision and how I wanted it executed. She gave me realistic expectations of things we could/couldnt do all while being a text or call away (sometimes even a virtual hug). She is truly and angel and you will not regret having her on your team on your big day. -

On the day of my wedding, Emily was a dream come true. She had all my decor laid out throughout the venue how I had envisioned, she made sure all my vendors were on time, she helped my bridal party get ready, she helped my husband and I and our vendors keep to our timeline, and she was simply the sweetest and kindest individual to work with! My wedding day was the best day of my life, and it was executed exactly as I had hoped for thanks to Emily! Emily is hard working, organized, detailed, caring, and passionate about what she does, and she is amazing at it! I emailed and texted Emily way way too much, and she was always so kind and so helpful in her responses! I wish I could always have Emily around to organize my events! Thank you Emily for making my wedding day the absolute best! You are the best and I am so happy I met you! -
Megan Sent on 02/17/2018There are not enough words to describe my time with Emily. She thinks of everything, takes on every role, and never lets you worry. Emily made my every desire happen, she kept everyone calm, and she connected me to the best vendors imaginable. Our photographer (who we hired prior to meeting Emily) fell through at the last minute, and she wasted no time helping us replace that person. She immediately had names, numbers and quotes ready. She went to every meeting without question. The day of the wedding my dress ripped during photos and she and our new photographer (who she recommended to us) got on their hands and knees and had it fixed in less than two minutes. Every person was accounted for and versed on everything. She had schedules typed up for each individual in the bridal party. She knew what time everything was arriving. All things that you don't want to worry about on your wedding day- she worried about for us. On the day of the wedding, even though she had a million things to do, Emily made herself available to be with me while I was getting ready, coffee in hand when she got to my parents' house at 7:45. All I had to do that day was show up and marry my best friend. Emily became a very valuable friend to me during this time, and I am very sad that the wedding is over because it inevitable means we will not be talking all day every day as we were while the wedding approached. She truly loves her job and wants her clients to have the most magical day possible. She is like a wedding fairy godmother.

Lauren Sent on 11/12/2017Emily is amazing! She made my wedding day a breeze and allowed me to focus on the things that mattered to me while handling all of the little details. She immediately put me at ease. She is intuitive, trustworthy, and adaptable. When the wrong size table was delivered, she retrieved the appropriate item for me in Albuquerque and drove it to Santa Fe. Certainly not in her job description... she went above and beyond! I had surgery on my foot a few months prior to the wedding and this left several things up in the air- how long I would be able to stand, if I could do a first dance, how long I could stand for photos. Emily was flexible and we played it by ear... it worked out perfectly. We wed on private property as the sun set. Emily cleaned post event in the dark. When we returned to the site a few days later, everything was pristine. How she managed to clean the space flawlessly in the dark is a mystery to me. Thank you Emily for making my big day perfection!

Bree Sent on 06/27/2015I can not speak highly enough of Emily Sallach! It was only by her help that my wedding was... literally... the PERFECT wedding! (Seriously.) My wedding may have been the first I've ever experienced where... nothing went wrong! Everyone and everything was in its place at the right time and I didn't have to think twice about the details or flow throughout the day. She was available for days, weeks, and months leading up to the wedding for any questions, reassurances, and action plans. I will sing her praises to the masses and highly encourage any future bride to do herself a favor in working with Emily. <3 -
Meagan Sent on 11/12/2017Emily was great! I was faced with planning a wedding in New Mexico (at my parents house) from D.C. It was very important to me to make sure that my parents wouldn't be "hosting" the wedding despite it being at their house, and it became clear quickly that we would need some guidance (or a lot!) in the planning process (of over a year). And Emily was there every step of the way. She answered every text, email, Facebook chat, FaceTime call, and was supportive every time. She even did a number of house visits, working closely with my parents when I wasn't there. Did I mention this was for over a year? In the end, Emily delivered. She executed our vision, and made my our special day happen without any major hiccups (at least that I was aware of and/or didn't end up loving - like when the lights and music cut out while everyone was dancing because we plugged in the ice cream truck! Still makes me laugh! ). Most importantly, my husband and I had a fabulous time with our friends and family and it was in large part because of Emily. Now all I need is for her to organize my life! :)
