  Eva & EKE are incredible!

  My now husband and I were a bit hesitant about having our venue require a day-of coordinator, but little did we know this would be such a HUGE part of our day going so smoothly! Eva with EKE was simply incredible. Before the big day, she helped with my to do lists, she brought up important questions or things to consider, and was always available via email. On the day of, Eva executed my vision perfectly and handled everyone's questions (guests and other vendors!) so I could focus on being present. I would recommend Eva and Emily Katherine Events to anyone and everyone! They are SO worth the money in helping the day be as smooth and perfect as possible.

  Check wedding planner or coordinator off your list with EKE!!

  Emily Katherine Events is the best decision you can make to ensure your dream wedding comes true! We met Emily at a wedding open house at The Cookery and were drawn to her passion for bringing sustainability to weddings. After booking EKE for our wedding, we were notified that Eva would be helping us. Initially, we were slightly apprehensive since we had not met Eva yet. Oh my goodness... if only we could have gone back and told ourselves we had absolutely no need for uncertainty. Eva was amazing from the get-go - infinitely organized and the consumate professional, Eva brought experience and knowledge and quelled any nerves we were feeling about being prepared. We chose to go with day-of coordination services only, so we were relieved by the time Eva showed up to get us on track and ready to walk down the aisle. In hindsight, we wish we would have gone with full or partial planning services, because we totally trust Eva and wedding planning was a lot more work than we were expecting. At our final details meeting, Eva asked so many detailed questions, we could really start picturing exactly what our wedding would be like. On our wedding day - Eva kept everyone on track and we were right on schedule the whole day! Eva was so cool, calm, and collected and was such a confident presence to have around! Special shoutout to Eva's wife Emma that brought us all of our passed small bites from cocktail hour while we finished up couple photos. It's like Emma and Eva knew exactly what we needed at any given time. Cannot recommend EKE enough - they are the easiest decision you can make when it comes to wedding planning!!

  Top Tier Event Planning!!

  I have only wonderful things to say about Emily Katherine Events! I worked with Eva and she helped me through everything!!! I got so much advice and support throughout the wedding planning process. My wedding day was mostly outside with 150 guests but everything went so smooth because of Eva and I had such a stress free day. Everything felt organized and on tract. I had a lot of decor but the set up looked so beautiful. I was a super nervous bride but the team at Emily Katherine Events did not let anything fall through the cracks. They made my timeline, communicated with my vendors, worked with the venue, set up a walk-through one month out, and made sure I didn't miss anything! Working with this team was one of best experiences and put me at so much ease. Definitely recommend to anyone planning an event, do not hesitate to book !!

  Exceeded Expectations

  Eva was the wedding coordinator for our daughter's wedding. She was amazing! From the quick response time with emails to efficiently handling multiple moving parts, Eva was calm and effective. She was ready to assist or to take the lead when needed. Eva was an absolute dream to work with and I will forever be grateful for her help on such a special day!

  Best Wedding Planner EVER

  I always tell people now that if I can give one piece of wedding advice it's to hire a full service planner. The most important caveat to this is that you hire Emily to plan your wedding. I know it sounds hyperbolic, but do whatever you can to work with Emily. She's already booked on the date you want? Pick another date. Seriously, she is that worth it.
  
  We started working with Emily in the early Summer of 2021 for our Spring 2023 wedding and bought her full service planning package and it was easily the best money we spent on our wedding. Over the course of nearly two years she was extremely connected, communicative, and on top of every single detail. Her connections in the industry really showed through with every other vendor we contracted with as they were all genuinely excited to be working one of her events.
  
  I cannot overstate how excellent it was to work with Emily. The amount of time, money, and stress she saved us by hearing our vision, connecting us with and handling the best possible vendors we could imagine, and realizing every final detail of the plan is something I simply can't put a price on.
  
  Her team is phenomenal, too. All of the outstanding work from Eva and Emma on our wedding day (and before) was the linchpin in making sure our wedding went off without a hitch. If anything went wrong I had no idea and their hard work kept the day extremely organized in such a way that we got to focus on us and go into the day knowing that everything was going to go great.
  
  It's funny looking back on everything now because people always told us that planning a wedding is hard. To be fair to them I'm sure they're right, but I wouldn't know because working with Emily not only made the whole experience easy, but an absolute joy.

  Best return on investment for our wedding planning

  We had Eva Walker as our day-of-coordinator and we couldn't have been happier! Best return on investment for our wedding planning. Not only was she organized and great at coordinating with our vendors, she went above and beyond to be a cheerful and calming presence leading up to and on our big day. We couldn't have done it without her.

  Hiring EKE was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. We chose the "month of" package, so we were able to hand off all of our vendor information, decor plans, and other details to Emily and her team one month before the wedding. My partner and I were very busy at work in the leadup to our wedding and knowing that EKE was on top of things dramatically reduced the stress of wedding planning. Emily and Eva responded to emails promptly, took initiative to fix problems, and made sure no detail was overlooked. Plus, they care about the environment and were able to compost/reuse leftover food, flowers, and decor. Simply put, we highly recommend Emily Katherine Events!

  Emily was absolutely wonderful to work with. We hired her for the month of coordination. She is so great at what she does. She ran through our rehearsal with us and made sure the whole wedding party knew where to be and when. She coordinated with our venue setting up the ceremony and reception spaces. She kept both sides of the wedding party on schedule getting ready before the ceremony and during the reception for photos, first dances, cake cutting, last call etc. and checked in with me all night just to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. She really made me forget all the stresses of the day. I can't recommend her enough.

  Amazing Experience working with Emily Katherine events

  Emily is an absolutely incredible wedding planner and person. She is universally loved by pretty much every other vendor we worked with. She listened to our ideas and priorities and helped make the perfect wedding. She is extremely organized, thoughtful, and makes helpful suggestions but also leaves room for the couple’s ideas and values. She also put up with our extremely limited schedules and intermittent responses (2 resident physicians). I could not recommend EKE enough/ if you are planning a wedding, you should absolutely hire her.

  Super Hero Wedding Planner

  If I could give Emily one hundred stars, I would. We hired Emily pretty much immediately after booking our venue with no idea what direction to go from there. Emily worked with us for over 18 months and planned the entire wedding and rehearsal dinner from top to bottom. I am the type of person who had a distinctive and specific vision but hates logistics and can get easily frazzled so it was so nice to have someone so responsible, organized, and professional handling all of the planning. We used all of Emily's recommended vendors and they were all amazing! Everyone who attended our wedding raved about everything from the food to the décor to our live band. My somewhat unique vision and aesthetic for my wedding was expertly carried out by Emily and co. Absolutely none of it could have happened if it weren't for Emily, and even during the inevitable wedding hiccups and curveballs, Emily stayed calm and collected and kept everyone's blood pressure at bay. I can't even count the number of small details that I wouldn't have ever thought of that Emily handled.
  
  On our wedding day, Emily and her team coordinated the entire event with such poise and calmness. Even when we had to change around our plans because of the rain, Emily had towels and clear umbrellas ready to go for our photos and for our guests.

  Covid Wedding Warrior

  Emily did an awesome job with our wedding despite all the adversity of covid. We had an awesome time and I lost count of how often she had to adjust reservations and schedules on our behalf. She made everything easy and fun!

It was such a relief knowing that they were handling all the tiny details and timing of events so we could just relax and enjoy every second of our celebrations. They think of everything and they had a go bag with everything you’ll forget to think of that helps in emergencies (safety pins, sewing kit, tape - you name it!). Don’t think twice - hire EK Events and rest easy!

  Emily is Awesome

  My only regret about the wedding is that I did not hire Emily sooner! We hired her as a day of coordinator and I wish we had hired her to plan. She is so organized and calm. As a really details oriented human, I was worried about my ability to hand off responsibility to someone else and I did not have to give it a second thought with Emily. Other vendors came back and commented how organized and professional she is. Her recommendations for other vendors and for timeline adjustments were excellent and the day went by seamlessly with Emily directing everyone. Emily is incredible and you will love working with her.

Emily tagged in to help coordinate all our vendors a month out from our wedding date. This is when I started to get stressed, and Emily made the process so easy. She made me feel at ease, stepped in to take over what I needed her to, and took such great care of us. The day of the wedding, she was not only hopping around at the venue getting everything set up. She checked in when we were getting ready, stopped to make us plates of food, ensured we always had a drink in our hand (and drank enough water). She even packed everything up for us at the end of the night, including slices of wedding cake to eat as a midnight snack. I can't express enough how incredible she was and how spoiled we felt having her. I also wanted to note how much I loved her creativity and focus on sustainability. Emily has such a refreshing ability to make you plan everything you've dreamed of, but in a way that is also easy on the environment. Emily, you are the best!

  Emily is Worth Her Weight in Gold

  Emily was absolutely indispensable in making our event happen. She was friendly and warm while also being super organized and responsible. Since neither of us is from Durham, planning a wedding here, during Covid no less, seemed pretty daunting. But Emily was an absolute pro, guiding us towards decisions and vendors (seemingly!) effortlessly and making sure everything ran smoothly. We like to joke that without her, we would still be staring at napkins trying to narrow things down. She and her staff were totally on top of things on the day of. She was also really fun to hang out with! We would absolutely recommend her to anyone planning a wedding in the triangle.

  So happy with our experience with Emily!

  Emily planned our rehearsal dinner and was the coordinator for our wedding. Emily was so great to work with. She was attentive, go-with-the-flow, kind, detailed, and flexible. I can't imagine trying to plan the wedding weekend with her. I would absolutely recommend working with Emily and her team!

  If you are on the fence about hiring a wedding planner, do it. Then pick up the phone and call Emily. My husband and I decided to go full steam ahead with our wedding date in this post-apocalyptic Coronavirus world. That meant that 30 days before we said I Do, we had to completely re-plan our wedding. Emily really stepped up for us. She contacted vendors, figured out with our photographer how to livestream the ceremony, helped redo menus, scheduled vendors so we didn't exceeded our covid headcount. You name it, she was on it.   I am a wedding photographer and recently I had the pleasure of working a local wedding along side Emily and her team. I don't often write reviews but I was compelled to do so, as its well deserved. Throughout the planning process she was on top of all of the details, kept great communication with all the vendors, and on the day of was wonderful to work with =)

  You know those career aptitude tests you take in middle school? Well, if "wedding planner" were an option, I'm sure Emily got that result! Everything about Emily - her impressive organizational skills, her kind demeanor, her ability to roll with literally whatever comes her way while sporting a smile, her gentle yet effective way of keeping everyone on track - is suited for this job. As a bride who had no idea what I wanted my wedding to look like (while attempting to plan it in just four months!), it is not hyperbole to say the big day would not have happened without Emily. She had a magical way of guiding without imposing, which is not an easy balance! Emily was super kind and sensitive to me and my family, was the impeccable professional in communicating with other vendors (who all adored her, by the way!), punctual in following-through with everything, incredibly responsive and available, thoughtful with big and small details, and (especially considering our timeline) a literal miracle-worker. (Like helping get dirt stains out of my dress train after rainy pictures at the ceremony!)   Emily and her team were simply outstanding. From the moment I met with Emily 11 months before our wedding, I knew I didn’t want to look any further for day-of coordinators. Emily has an incredibly calming presence and was organized to a T. Even the day-of when we had to change our ceremony spot because of rain and our second photographer woke up sick, Emily remained calm and reassuring that everything would go smoothly, and it did. The EKE team is incredibly professional, down to earth, organized, communicative, and so kind - I loved working with all of them!

  Best investment we made in our budget!

  Emily was so great to work with. She really made the entire month leading up to the wedding stress free. She and her team worked so hard to make our venue look just how we imagined it. She is very professional, detail oriented, and has awesome ideas that just added to how special our wedding felt. She went above and beyond! I would absolutely recommend Emily if you live in the Triangle, at the very least for her coordination package in the last month. You won't regret it!

  Emily is the absolute BEST

  Emily was wonderful to work with in planning our Durham wedding. Emily was hired for partial planning and day-of coordination. She was so organized and helpful in finding and booking vendors as well as keeping us moving forward with a monthly task list. I didn't have to worry about one thing the day of the wedding because Emily was on it. I can't recommend Emily more highly!

  We hired Emily Katherine events to be "partial wedding planners" since we already had a few things done when we enlisted them (venue, band booked etc.) Emily and her assistant Gina helped us both with our Friday Welcome party (with a guest like of 100+ people) and with the wedding on Saturday (with a guest list of 200+ people). It was incredible to have them coordinating both and they were a massive help. I didn't even have to think twice about all the nitty gritty details like what time our caterers were going to show up and rentals etc. I really appreciate Gina and Emily''s working style- very calm and relaxed but also efficient and capable. Resulted in a day that was totally relaxed and everything ran so smoothly. They were very available over email or to meet in person when requested. With partial planning it's maybe a fine line to walk where you are overstepping "partial" into "full" but I was more conscious about it then them as they never gave me anything but their full attention.
