It’s one thing to be a wedding planner and it’s another thing to understand the assignment. Dure Events understood the assignment during Osi&Eva wedding 4/11/2023. Everything that happened there from the decoration to the last thing was dope. I will recommend them to anyone for both wedding and other events. Thank you Dure Events for coming through and giving Osi&Eva the best. Your job will always be outstanding. -

Dure Events is a 10/10 recommend. I am a planner and a crucial organizer myself, so it is difficult for me to place an event in someone else's hands. My wedding was the first time I surrendered my hand, which something like a wedding is also a very big deal!
Dure Events reassured me, protected our peace, was very intentional in decision making as well as making sure that we were reminded of our vision and no one else's. Dure Events shared tears and hope with us when we had to move our wedding date because of the Winter Storm that occurred in Houston in 2021. No water, no power, just a Great God, a good team and motivated and caring people.
Our wedding day was nothing less than glorious. We still have people talk to use about it up until this day. We will forever be grateful for such a team. If you are thinking about a wedding planner, Get one and make sure it is Dure Events! -

Exceptional Planner!
My initial conversation with Chi was in February 2017. She was very professional, thorough, sweet and patient with me because I had no idea about anything wedding related. During the call, she answered all my questions and had extensive details around all my inquiries. I informed her that I would get back to her once we figured out a potential date. After the initial call, unlike other planners, she never blew up my phone or continuously flooded my voicemail with messages. She understood me based on the few personality and style-based preliminary questions she had.
We then lost touch for a couple of months due to a busy travel year for me in 2017. I was also stressed by the magnitude of planning a wedding. As God would have it, one evening after a travel work week, I coincidentally ran into Chi at the airport in DC. We were on the same flight back to Houston! I can’t thank God any less for this wonderful timing. When we boarded the flight, she pulled out a piece of paper and asked me to draw out my vision and we kept going from there. We talked throughout the flight like we had been friends for years.
From then on, planning was a breeze. The wedding planning that I had avoided and feared suddenly became a fun activity. Chi, Andrea and Ozie were stars before, during and after my wedding. They were all super protective and made sure that my husband and I had a stress-free day. I could detail out so many beautiful things about my experience with Dure Events, but words fail me. I couldn’t have asked for a better planner and lifelong friend. All in all, Chioma was the best wedding decision we made! She is an expert at connecting your personality and vision to your wedding day! -

My wedding day could not have been the way it was without this amazing team! From my first meeting with Chioma, her professionalism and eye for quality and detail FLOURISHED. The one thing I wanted to accomplish with this wedding is a Tale as Old as Time theme. (Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie growing up). I was afraid when I told her about the theme I wanted, she would look at me crazy. But, instead, she took it as a challenge and said "Ok. No problem! I know exactly what you're wanting". The initial sketch of the reception layout blew me away! She took y vision and BROUGHT IT TO LIFE! And I could not have been happier!
From getting on me about about the guest list, to keeping me calm, and laughing with me every step of the way. This team encouraged me, consoled me, prayed with me, and slayed with me! Chioma, thank you for being the best wedding planner that a woman can have! Reynard and I have said it before, but we consider you family now. We love you and thank you!

Jennifer Sent on 02/28/2018Chioma, and her team were excellent! She is very knowledgeable regarding wedding do's and dont's and she works with you to achieve your vision as a bride. In fact she inspired me to achieve a wedding which was better than I could have imagined on my own.
She is uniquely creative, and brings fresh perspective to every meeting we attended. She is also very conscientious of your budget as a bride, and helps you plan accordingly. She is a very patient, and extremely professional.
I am happy I chose her to plan one of the most special moments of my life. -

If you’re looking for a wedding planner who goes above and beyond, I wholeheartedly recommend Dureevents. They are simply the best!

Chioma, the owner of Dure Events was by far my BIGGEST regret and the major source of stress for my wedding in July 2022. Please, do not waste your money with her. I feel scammed and bamboozled by her company. I was soooo excited to hire her as my planner, innocently believing she was "top notch" due to Instagram. My mistake was not contacting previous brides, so future brides please BE WARNED! Perhaps she used to have better work ethic once upon a time or maybe only for her "high end" clients but this is no longer the case. She will come off very pleasant and passionate at first but instead be full of disappointments, lacking all manner of integrity. Please do not let beautiful pictures on Instagram fool you, she will not do her job, she will not meet deadlines, she will not be available when you need her, she will not keep her word and she will give you TONS of excuses and empty apologies. This is all after paying her thousands of dollars to retain her and signing a contract. On top of that, due to her negligence she has cost us additional thousands of dollars with our venue. A nightmare from beginning to end.
My husband and I were so patient and understanding that I only decided to do this review in November because she has refused to respond to our messages/e-mails/calls after all this time we gave her and after admitting she dropped the ball. She can not be trusted, we gave her so many chances. Frankly, I was a bit traumatized by the whole experience with her.
It's only God that ensured my wedding was still beautiful, because my husband and I ended up carrying the load while she "showed up" on the day. We personally booked our vendors, did follow ups and handled most of the details of our event. Not what I expected after paying thousands of dollars for a full-service planner. The few things that did go wrong was because of her. I feel more ashamed of her as a fellow Nigerian/Igbo woman who I was so excited to support in her business. It's mindboggling her level of deceit. -

Complete SCAM! Chioma booked our services on behalf of a client. Took the money from the client and didn’t pay us after she promised us to pay. She has now completely ghosted us and is unresponsive to our messages, texts, and phone calls. This company has a reputation for scamming vendors and not paying them. CLIENTS & VENDORS BEWARE!!! 👎👎👎 -

Do NOT recommend. Horrible planner
The attached photo is one of many examples of how Chioma of DURE Events overpromised and underdelivered. When I was still under the illusion that she was a professional planner, I let her convince me to get a dress made for my engagement shoot by one of her “contacts” instead of just following my gut and purchasing one directly from a store (see left pic). What came back was what looked like a Halloween costume that did not even arrive in time for the photo shoot, delaying everything and costing me lots of money on the backend. Of course I didn’t get my money back and had to buy brand new dresses after the fact.
Best decision I made as a bride was FIRING Chioma once I realized how her lack of integrity was costing me in every way. -

She nearly ruined our wedding and ran off with thousands of dollars. I wouldn’t wish that anyone else going through the wedding planning process. I highly recommend not hiring this company for anything unless you are looking for someone to take your money.
