I think to be a good wedding planner, you have to be equal parts teacher, cat herder, designer, therapist, spreadsheet whiz, friend, and time manager. It's a difficult job and the team at Devoted To You are great at it. Victoria was our rock throughout the process, keeping us on track, giving us space when we needed it, and pushing us to make decisions when time was of the essence. During setup and throughout the event she was right there with us and managed the whole show with skill and humanity. On top of all that, they're just dang nice people over there. If that all weren't enough, Victoria made outstanding recommendations for our other vendors and the team really came together and made our day perfect. Thank you so much!!!! -

We knew we wanted a supportive, inclusive wedding planning partner, and Devoted To You was absolutely one of our best finds. We had NO idea what we were getting into when it came to planning this wedding, and Morgan and Melissa helped us pull off a spectacular event that our family and friends have been talking about for weeks. Being new(ish) to Pittsburgh, their vendor recommendations were extremely helpful, and resulted in an exceptional team that really knocked it out of the park. Their knowledge and experience helped calm us down when we were inevitably panicking about some part of the weekend, and Morgan in particular was so attentive and such a reassuring presence from start to finish. We cannot say enough good things and are so grateful for all of the support. The team is DEFINITELY worth the investment. -

We started out thinking we could plan a 150-person Pittsburgh wedding remotely from Virginia all by ourselves (oh, hubris). A few months in, I was overwhelmed and freaking out, which meant it was time to ask for help! Melissa completely understood and seamlessly picked up where we had left off.
We had to be efficient with our vendor visits, because we were coming from out of town, and Melissa's coordination made those experiences so much easier. Every vendor we hired was overjoyed to be working with Melissa, and it's easy to see why! She has a great eye for design and interpreted our vision so well. We had a specific need for hair and makeup, which was more difficult to find than we had anticipated, but Melissa and her team worked hard to make sure all needs were met.
More than anything, Devoted To You was organized and efficient, both in planning and execution. We had a shared Google folder where all updates were recorded and I could ask questions/give comments between meetings. They also shared several helpful planning and timeline documents that kept my ADHD brain organized and on track.
Day of, we were both so calm, because Melissa and her team reacted quickly to every little thing that came up. We received so many compliments on the flow of the event from guests and the wedding party, but all the credit goes to Devoted To You. Their hard work allowed us to float through the day and focus on the reason we were there. We enthusiastically recommend them for any event!

In our search to find a vendor that would fit with our unorthodox style and guests, devoted for you was our first and best choice. They took all of our weird little requests and utterly ran with them, spinning our big day into the most incredible experience we could have asked for. We were kept on track (something we desperately needed), given fantastic design outlines and to-do lists, and communicated with plentifully every step of the way. They did everything that was needed to assuage our fears, and for that we are unbelievably thankful. I cannot recommend them enough - our deepest gratitude to Victoria & Co. -

Words cannot describe how thankful I am to have Morgan with Devoted to You part of our wedding day. She not only made my planning process so much easier, but she is truly the reason our day went as perfect as it did. She understood the assignment and NAILED IT - from frequent communication up to the month prior to the wedding, working with me the week of the wedding to perfect the vision I was going for, to being my beck and call the day of (she literally gave me the socks off her feet). If you are thinking about booking a wedding cordinator, allow me to be the one to tell you to stop thinking about it and JUST DO IT. When I hung up from my first phone call with Melissa, I thought she sounded like a fairy godmother. She seemed too good to be true. I quickly realized that she was THAT good. Melissa and the Devoted to You team helped with the design and day of coordination for our April 2022 wedding. Melissa truly made the magic happen. She helped pull my many thoughts on the design together to create a beautiful wedding day, found a vendor at the very last minute to do ceiling drapery within my budget, tracked down taper candle covers despite a shortage two weeks before the wedding, and kept the timeline running smoothly. I never once felt stressed on my wedding day and I attribute so much of that to Melissa and her team. I personally loved how genuine, open minded, and understanding Melissa and her team were throughout the whole process. I never felt like a burden for asking a question or silly for wanting something a certain way. Melissa wants you to be you and will make sure that the day stays about you and your partner. She will be your #1 fan and you can feel that in every single interaction with her. I cannot recommend the Devoted to You team enough! BOOK THEM. You will not regret it! -

We worked with Morgan for our wedding and I could not recommend her more! From the moment we first contacted Devoted to You to the final moments of our wedding, Morgan was extremely professional, knew exactly what questions to ask (especially in our vendor meetings), and reassured me every step of the way. She truly went above and beyond (I cannot emphasize this enough!). We were originally a 2020 wedding and had to postpone twice due to Covid. Devoted to you helped us every step of the way and always kept me calm when I was completely freaking out!
We had a fiasco with my wedding dress zipper breaking 30 mins before my first look. Morgan came and picked my husband and I up from the hotel (because she was done setting the venue up early!), personally drove us to our photo location, and kept me calm the entire time. She adjusted the timeline for the rest of the day on the fly because we were running late while we were fixing my dress. Through this entire (very stressful) situation, Morgan was calm, collected, and focused. I mentally checked out because I was so panicked but she never flinched once and got me down the aisle only a couple minutes delayed!
Devoted to You has an incredible eye for design, excellent timeline management, and a solutions oriented mindset. They took all of my crazy ideas and helped me focus them/made them even better! All of our guests raved about how this was the most organized and unique wedding + TRUE to the couple's personality that they've ever seen! Morgan really took the time to get to know us in the planning process and it was very clearly reflected in the final event. It was everything that I had dreamed of and I could not have done it without the incredible work of the Devoted to You Team!! -

Where to even start with these amazing Women! First let's talk about Melissa. We hired "Devoted To You" One month into planning our wedding. We started out with a Day of Coordination and quickly was calling her back adding on design services.The last thing we wanted was a cookie cutter wedding. We knew from our very first meeting with Melissa, that we had made the right choice for us. She was very professional, but more than that she was very unique and connected right away to our vision. Anytime through out this planning that we needed anything she was there to help us. The day of the wedding Melissa had brought along two of her staff Renee and Victoria. They made sure that we were very well taken care of. And could not have been more attentive to us.Absolute amazing women. As soon as we walked into the venue we realized that the "Devoted To You" team had knocked it out of the park for us. Everything we dreamed of was reality. And we left with not just a hired vendor but new friends. If there was 10 stars we would give them a 10!

GET THE HELP! I literally could not have imagine my wedding day without having the assistance of Morgan & her team. I was skeptical spending the money to have a day -of coordinator but I am extremely happy we decided on Devoted to You. Every single thing that goes on behind the scenes of a wedding was able to be flawless elicited by her and her team and our day was absolutely perfect because of them! We had some small hiccups that I didn’t even know were going on until way after the fact. They assisted getting our wedding sign setup from the chapel to the reception, ensure all other vendors were where they needed to be, coordinated all the favors and snacks and tables with ease, cleaned off the grooms glasses when the champaign pop went everywhere and brought him a drink at the reception when the bar was “closed”! Near the end of the night we gave Morgan our car keys, and after the reception she pulled the car to the front of the venue with everything loaded in it! I don’t think there was a minute of the day where we, as the newly married couple, needed to think about logistics.
The planning process was fantastic and there were a few touch points from 6 months out to make sure we were taking care of all the bells and whistles we wanted for our day. Morgan was easy to work with and discuss little changes as we got closer, as well as updated the whole vendor team with timelines and notes. I highly recommend this whole team to all of my newly engaged friends and family, it was simply perfect! -

After the excitement of celebrating our engagement, we started to plan our special day. That is when it hit us… holy *%$# planning a wedding is not going to be easy. Melissa was referred to us by a friend and after five minutes of talking with her for our consultation, we knew that Devoted to You Events was going to help plan us the grooviest wedding this side of the river. Melissa took every single idea that we had and made it even better, she added her creativity and flair. While visiting a vendor they referred to me as a “Melissa Crawford Bride” meaning my wedding was going to be out of the box, unique, edgy, and HELLA amazing and boy was she right. It is still such a compliment and honor that I got to be a Melissa Crawford (Devoted to You Events) Bride. Not to mention after having 90% of our wedding planned COVID hit. When I decided to move to NYC to work as a crisis nurse Melissa was one of my first calls. We both cried together, and she promised our wedding would still be as perfect as ever, and boy was she right. We truly can’t thank her and her INCREDIBLE team (s/o Renee & Morgan) enough. Not only did Melissa connect us with great vendors but they all worked seamlessly together. There was no stress at our wedding, only dancing, smiles, and even some karaoke! Every detail was better than the next and the whole day was flawless. When our guests talk about our wedding, they say that they have never been to a wedding that felt so much like the couple’s personalities. Melissa thank you for making our disco dreams come true, we are forever GRATEFUL!!!

Best planner!!
Morgan made my wedding dreams come true. After multiple rescheduled dates due to Covid Morgan came in and completely changed my experience. She made it fun and exciting after what was a stressful time. On the day of the wedding Morgan and her team worked tirelessly to make sure everything was running smoothly and getting set up properly. I can’t thank her enough for her support and making our wedding day the best day of our lives. I can’t recommend Morgan and her team enough!! They really are the best. -

have been waiting to write this review for a few months because I truly cannot capture the words to express how grateful I am for Melissa and her team! From the second I met Melissa, I knew that she was the perfect person to help plan my wedding! She brings a confidence and calmness to the table it is absolutely invaluable. She is creative, passionate, and just frankly awesome!
Our original wedding was scheduled for May 2020 and Melissa was there “pivoting” constantly through our multiple reschedules.
If you are hesitating whatsoever about hiring a wedding planner… Do not. Especially if said planner is ”Devoted to You.” Her knowledge, expertise, and relationships are worth more than you could ever imagine! To say that you get a big bang for your buck is an understatement!

In COVID-19 times, flexibility is the key, and Melissa was an absolute godsend. She helped us find a new wedding date and not one but TWO alternative venues when the restrictions changed every other day. We were completely overwhelmed and she helped us keep it together, even though we had originally only hired her for day-of coordination. Even with all the stress and changes, we were able to thoroughly enjoy the day of our wedding (masks and all) because of the work she did for us. I cannot imagine how my wedding day would have gone if it weren’t for Morgan! We had our wedding at the Barn at Maple Falls and she made our day a breeze. When I needed to firm things up with our caterer, Morgan set up a call. When my sisters’ had to change their lodging at the last minute, Morgan contacted our shuttle to make sure the transportation was rearranged. When I had 1000 questions on the day of - the response was always “I’ll take care of it,” or “it’s already been taken care of.” Honestly, I wish Morgan could organize my every day life too! 🤣 She made everything so easy and stress free that I got to just enjoy the day! At the end of the night she had every single thing that we brought to the venue packaged and ready to take home. I am so grateful that she was there. If you’re thinking that you don’t need a wedding coordinator, you’re wrong. You need one and it needs to be Devoted to You! -

Morgan = my fairy godmother
We hosted our wedding of approx. 225 at a full service hotel. To be honest I was skeptical that we needed an outside coordinator to help us. In the months leading up however things began piling up and my groom became extremely anxious. From the first consultation call with Morgan and Melissa I knew we were making the right decision. Morgan was assigned to be our wedding coordinator. I’m not exaggerating when I say she was like a fairy godmother. From little details, and vendor communication to family drama. She handled it ALL. She came to every meeting and was always available. Her organization and professionalism was second to none. I had zero stress and was really able to enjoy the months leading up to my wedding. The day of she and her assistant took care of all the coordination of the outside vendors. Also small unexpected things ie half the groomsman forgot the handkerchief for the pockets of their suits. She quickly and seamlessly came up with a solution. I forgot a bag for the money dance she had one on hand. She handled transportation of the gifts etc. These are just a few examples. I had the most amazing wedding day and Devoted to You is a major reason why. I can’t thank them enough. -

Melissa and her team are absolute rockstars. We used Devoted to You Events for our wedding in May and settled on the Day of Coordination package. Our venue would have to be flipped during cocktail hour and that wasn't something I wanted us or our family and friends to do. I had heard wonderful things about Melissa and after meeting her, knew that she would great to work.
The day of coordination really kicks into gear around a month out. Melissa scheduled a walk through with us and the venue and let me tell you, she is SO on the ball. My fiance and I left that meeting and his mom turned to us and said "Thank god you hired her. She's amazing." That is when we realized it wasn't just about the flip, a coordinator helps you with so much more. Melissa put together a timeline for us, ran our rehearsal, coordinated drop off and delivery with all of the vendors, helped us with our first look, set up our ceremony, made sure the night ran flawlessly, and cleaned up personal items at the end of the night. When our florist didn't have candle stick covers, Melissa kindly asked another florist if we could borrow theirs. When the second bus didn't show up on time, Melissa fixed the issue immediately. I am probably missing 100 other things she took care of behind the scenes. These are all things we would have had to take care of or ask our close friends and family to help with. I can truly say that the month leading up to our wedding was stress free and thank Melissa and her team for that.
If it wasn't for the flip, we may not have considered a coordinator so quickly, but my advice to any bride is to go for it. We trusted Melissa and her team with everything and that allowed us and our guests to enjoy every moment of the day. We believe some of the best money spent on our wedding was on Devoted to You Events because Melissa made the day fun, was organized, and gave us peace of mind throughout the process. -

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Melissa. She is extremely knowledgeable, creative and has relationships with some of the absolute best vendors in this region. She was extremely responsive and answered our many questions thoroughly and quickly. I honestly think of her as a friend now and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a professional wedding planner. Kyoely Sent on 05/07/2024We sincerely regret hiring Melissa as our wedding planner.
We paid for Melissa's most expensive, all inclusive planning package, and felt that the only thing we got out of working with her was her introductions to other vendors we loved. Other than that, working with her was extremely stressful, and she really proved that she wasn't "devoted to us" at any step of the process.
Where to start... for context, my partner and I live in Japan and planned our wedding in Pittsburgh completely remotely. For this reason, we actually couldn't visit any venues or meet anyone in person, and due to the time difference, we could only speak at 9am EST (11pm for us). We recognize that we aren't the usual couple and working with us perhaps posed some extra challenges, but we were as upfront about this before signing a contract as we could be, and Melissa never mentioned having any issue with this arrangement. After some time, it felt that Melissa seemed to regret agreeing to work with us and therefore put us on a backburner.
From the very start, we were disappointed with her services. She presented a budget based on the $X amount we were willing to pay - this budget didn't include her own fees and she made us feel that we couldn't hold a wedding at all if we weren't willing to stretch our budget. She made us feel that we were being cheap by not wanting to pay top dollar for everything.
Her attitude throughout the entire year we worked with her was condescending and patronizing - she made us feel stupid for not knowing certain things about planning a wedding, and made us feel bad for wanting to stretch our limited budget.
She was very slow to respond, sometimes taking two weeks to reply after several follow-ups. I'd send a few questions throughout a week or two, and we'd only get a response to the most recent question. A lot of times it felt like I was better off reaching out to vendors and doing things on my own, which was very frustrating as we were paying her good money to do this for us.
She was almost always a few minutes late to our Zoom calls, cancelled several times, and once or twice just didn't even show up without an explanation until later. She made comments about how 9am was early for her, despite knowing if we met any later it would be past midnight for us. She made us feel that we were inconveniencing her several times.
Regarding vendors, we were particularly disappointed with her work on venues and on hotel room blocks. She provided a few venues at first, and when we didn't like any of them, it took her quite a while to come back with more suggestions. She made us feel pressured to go with one of these options because otherwise we were going to waste time and potentially miss out to other couples, so we chose a venue that we didn't necessarily love, but it was the best of the few, mediocre options she provided. We originally planned for 100 guests, and in the end had 65, and the venue just barely fit that number - it absolutely wouldn't have fit 100 guests so it's a mystery why she suggested it in the first place. She also didn't consider that providing cheaper venues meant that we'd have to provide all the rentals ourselves, bringing the price of our "affordable" venue out to something that would have been very similar to a rentals-included space. She did not seem to consider or take our budget seriously at any step of the process.
The other issue was with a hotel room block. Our wedding fell on the same weekend as Pitt's graduation, and Melissa made us feel as though no hotels would offer a room block because of this. She pushed very hard to get us to do a block at a hotel that we didn't like for several reasons (bad reviews, awkward location, unique concept that we personally didn't like). It took a lot of convincing and pushback from our side before she eventually recommended the services of The Hotel Gurus (a third party company that organizes room blocks at no charge to the couple; they get commission from the hotels). Our experience with the Hotel Gurus was great, and we loved the hotel we ended up at - but the only work Melissa did here was introducing us; she was not involved with the process at all after the introduction.
This was a running theme throughout our planning - Melissa introduced us to some great vendors. But we can honestly say this is the only thing we got out of our working with her besides loads of stress, and we genuinely wonder what it is that all these other vendors love about her. Perhaps it's different working with her as a business partner than as a client, because we didn't love anything about being her client.
Throughout the almost one year of unanswered emails, rescheduled calls, and disappointing service, I tried to tell myself that she was busy with other weddings, that she would put more care and attention into our wedding when the time came, and that she would be better in person.
I wish I had been right, but that was not the case. The week before our wedding is the only time she really seemed to be focused on us, and it ended up being a whirlwind of last minute details being thrown together that could have and should have been figured out months prior.
And then there's the wedding weekend itself. It begins with the day before, when we had the venue for 3 hours to set up and do our DIY floral arranging. Our wedding party and several friends who were in town early came to the venue to help us, and when my partner and I arrived, we saw that she already put everyone to work setting up chairs. This is fine, because everyone knew they were coming to help, but she ordered them around without any sense of appreciation - they all felt like they were being put to work rather than helping us out.
After a quick greeting we had a rehearsal, which was so rushed and disorganized, I almost wish I had run the thing myself. I mentioned to her that 4 of the members who would be walking weren't able to make it to the rehearsal, and she brushed me off and said it's no problem. The next day they had no idea what they were doing because nobody had briefed them - this is why I told her, but she didn't make note of it or make any attempt to make sure they knew what they were doing.
She left an hour early on our setting up day because she had two other events to attend to that day.
On our wedding day itself - let me list the issues one by one.
1. Setup was not even near finished by the time we arrived, 30 minutes before the ceremony was to begin.
2. Guests weren't being directed where to go, and walked into the inside space where the DJ, bartenders, and other vendors were still unpacking their gear and setting up. We had people traveling from other countries and having their first impression of our wedding being a thrown together, work-in-progress event, where they greeted the couple after stepping over empty cardboard boxes? That was very embarrassing. I asked Melissa to direct guests to the ceremony space and she did, but this isn't something we should have had to consider at all. There was no consideration for where we, the couple, could wait outside of view of guests before the ceremony.
3. The bartenders couldn't find the vodka for my signature drink and asked me where it was, minutes before the ceremony. I had to run around like a chicken with my head cut off to find Melissa and ask her to deal with it, and her first reaction was to ask me "did you bring it?" Eventually the bartenders found it in the box with all the other alcohol, but the fact that I had to worry about it on my own, and Melissa's response was less than empathetic, was really stressful.
4. The ceremony felt incredibly disorganized and the entire time we were worried about whether we were standing in the right spot or doing the right thing. I tried to find Melissa in the back of the crowd for some reassurance (even just a thumbs-up) that things were going smoothly, but I couldn't find her.
5. We had a bubble sendoff at the ceremony, and ended up with 60+ extra personalized bubble wands. We hadn't discussed it in advance, but it would have been thoughtful if she had considered asking us if we'd like to give them out as favors instead of taking them all home ourselves.
6. Nobody in the ceremony's audience knew where to sit, and there was an awkward 2nd row completely empty. Later I found out that usually groomsmen escort the guests, but we never knew this and no plan was ever suggested for this.
7. She was hard to find all day, and her attitude was quite rude to whomever had some interaction with her.
8. I made a welcome sign on a mirror that was quite heavy and only as tall as waist-length. I told her that we want the mirror to be placed higher so people can take pictures with their face in it - she reassured us that she'd put it on a bench and it would be fine. When we arrived on the day of, it was propped on the ground and tied to a pole, and the fairy lights weren't turned on. When I asked what happened, she nonchalantly mentioned "oh, it wasn't going to stay on the bench." Ok, then why didn't you come up with some other solution to make it work? She really didn't care.
9. The background for the photo booth wasn't set up despite mentioning to her twice throughout planning that we had bought decorations for it. She eventually hung up the decorations after I asked her to, but she didn't do them how we wanted (and never checked in about it), and I was too stressed and overwhelmed to ask her to fix it so I just let it go.
10. She told us she'd bring something to display our signs but never did, so the bartender held up the bar menu/signature drink signs between bottles, and the other signs were just placed on the tables without anything propping them up.
11. No announcement was made when the cake was served, and most guests told us later that they never knew the cake was available. We don't know what happened to it after the event and we never got to try any besides our small piece at the cake cutting. This was especially disappointing because my grandmother made the cake, so I wish someone had cared to make sure we brought home the leftovers.
12. When the event ended, I was baffled by how rude she was to my parents and our guests, ordering people to tear things down and clean up - this is why we hired you! She told my parents that they either have to box up the cookie table cookies, or she'd have the caterer throw the cookies away. She told our friend/officiant, who was a special guest to us and did us a huge favor officiating our wedding, to begin loading boxes into cars. It was extremely embarrassing for us that he was ordered around like this after all he did for us.
13. Melissa dragged out our one-on-one goodbye, and I realized it's most likely because she was waiting for a tip. My parents and guests told me that she was very rude at the end of the night, and I wonder if this has something to do with it.
14. We didn't know what happened to all the leftover food. Melissa had told my parents, as they were cleaning up the cookie table, that the food was in the kitchen and they needed to take it home. When my parents checked, nothing was there and they assumed my wedding party had taken it back to the hotel. My MOH asked Melissa at the very end if there's anything else she needs to pack up, and she told her no. We only found out days later when an email from the venue thanked us for all the leftovers - I CC'd Melissa to explain that we didn't even know what had happened to the leftovers since nobody asked us, the couple, about them, and Melissa shot back with excuses about how she had told "several people" that it needs to be taken care of, and it probably just slipped their mind. I recognize that it was a miscommunication error, but she never apologized or acknowledged that she never asked us directly what we wanted done with them, and didn't seem to care that we were upset about not being able to enjoy the food we paid so much for.
15. We had zero follow-up communication from Melissa, honestly solidifying for us that she really did not care about us or our wedding, and may have been salty about not receiving a tip (I could not, in good conscience, tip her for the service she provided, and we did tip well the vendors who provided good service).
For what it's worth, her assistant Ellen who was there on the day of was very helpful, thoughtful, and caring - we only knew her for a few hours but wished she had been our planner instead.
Overwhelmingly, the most stressful aspect of our wedding planning was working with Melissa, and I could not recommend her to anybody.
