Choosing Details and Lace as the wedding planner for my daughter’s wedding was the best decision I could have made.
Melanie will forever be a part of our hearts. She is nothing short of outstanding.
She was first and foremost a calming source to my “nervous nelly personality” and the wheels behind planning the perfect wedding. She helped to create a fairytale that will always be the best day of my daughter’s life.
From the moment we started planning she took the time to listen to our vision and since paid attention to every detail.
She was patient, always sharing ideas while also accepting ours, attentive and all around a work horse.
She went above and beyond to ensure the wedding was all we hoped and worked tirelessly to ensure our guests had an amazing experience.
While we had a few hiccups along the way in the planning process (nothing on Melanie’s end), she was quick to find a solution, without showing the least bit of stress which again, calmed this mother of the bride down 😊
Being outside the Charlottesville area Melanie had to meet with me on many occasions to guide me. She always welcomed my visit and cleared her calendar to give me her undivided attention.
Together we went the distance to find the perfect vendor team to create the most magical day.
She has an abundance of connections in the industry and offered many options from décor vendors, transportation vendors, to venue choices for hosting our Welcome Drinks event and more.
She without a doubt was instrumental in creating the perfect wedding weekend.
I could go on and on, but I end with a final thought.
Melanie is a top-notch wedding planner and will now be, forever a friend.

I cannot recommend Melanie and the entire Details and Lace staff enough! Hiring Melanie was the best decision we could have ever made. Melanie was a constant calming presence throughout the crazy wedding planning process. She made sure to listen to what my husband and I wanted, and was vital in ensuring that we had the best day ever. We could not have done this process without Melanie, and knew that our wedding was in good hands with Details & Lace! -

Melanie and Michaela were absolutely incredible. They were able to help us stay grounded and be more efficient in planning (even when things got really stressful) and made us feel at ease during the big day. I don't know how we could have gotten through everything without them. I would recommend them to absolutely everyone! They are kind, trustworthy people, and the best at what they do! -

Choosing to work with Details & Lace and Melanie was one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding planning process. She was so helpful in terms of coordinating with our vendors, ensuring we were prepared, and helping us think of things to put on our to-do list that made our wedding day run more seamlessly or that we might have otherwise forgotten. Where Melanie really shined, though, was on the day-of. She made sure our wedding day was entirely about us - we didn't need to be thinking about logistics at all, as Melanie was always on top of it. She went above and beyond to ensure that our expectations were not only met but were blown out of the water. We truly had the best day of our lives because of Melanie - with her help we could focus on being present with our family and friends and with each other. We had some particular requests that we wanted accommodated and Melanie made sure that nothing was forgotten, she helped manage a range of different personalities - from vendors to family to everyone in between. I also have mobility issues that made our wedding a particular challenge to execute, but Melanie thought through every detail and was always ready with an idea, a backup idea, and a backup to that idea. The most special thing about Melanie is really just who she is as a person. There is no request too big, no challenge that can't be met, and no obstacle that can't be conquered. We feel so fortunate to have gotten to work with her, and also to have gotten to know her on a personal level and share in this special phase of our lives with her. She helped calm us all the way and ensured us the day would be seamless, and thanks to her, it really was. Thank you for everything, Melanie! We would recommend Details and Lace in a heartbeat. -

Melanie was such a pivotal necessity for our wedding! She truly was a life saver and made planning a wedding as easy as it gets. I live in Northern Virginia and work full time and am in grad school at the same time, so my schedule was hectic and chaotic as it is, especially with coordinating a wedding two hours away from where you live! She kept me on track and on schedule with picking vendors on time, making decisions on details, and giving me honest advice. I truly felt like I could be my absolute true self around her, and by the wedding, I truly consider her an amazing friend! She is so honest and tells you the stuff you didn’t even think you needed to know about a wedding. Day of the wedding, she handled any little issue with ease, so much so that I didn’t even realize issues happened until the next day! She is truly an incredible human and I would highly recommend her to anyone who asks! -

My husband and I knew nothing about planning a wedding! Our first move was to find a wedding planner. After meeting with Melanie, we decided she was the perfect fit for us. Melanie and Michaela were there with us the entire way! We told her exactly what we wanted, and she did everything to make it happen! We did the partial planning, but she was available throughout our entire engagement. On the actual wedding weekend, she went above and beyond. I was a little overwhelmed the week of with everything going on, and she helped calm my nerves and reassure me that everything would be okay! She also made sure that we were taking care of ourselves all day! She offered to bring us lunch, she reminded us to hydrate (it was hot!) during the reception she and Michaela made sure we got a chance to eat! Her number one goal was to ensure the process was fun and easy - and it absolutely was! I would recommend her to EVERYONE!!! Thank you Melanie for giving us our perfect day. -

You may think you don't, but you need Melanie & Michaela
I've had the pleasure of seeing Melanie & Michaela in action at two weddings, one of them being my own. When I initially got engaged, I was sure I didn't need a planner. My best friend/Maid of Honor has helped coordinate several other weddings and I felt she could handle it. But after seeing Melanie & Michaela at another wedding, I was immediately convinced I needed them at mine. From the first conversation, they make you feel like a part of the family. Melanie is available via email or text to answer questions, review contracts, make recommendations, or just talk you off a ledge because it's all too overwhelming. You're never bothering them - they are your support system from the time they sign on to even after the wedding. The month and day of, they are in true Wonder Woman form, making sure everything happens the way it's supposed to. Making sure other vendors don't screw up. Catching mistakes that you wouldn't even know to look for. Taking over all final details so you can relax. Navigating and quashing family drama. My entire day they not only ran all coordination, but they checked on me every hour (at least) to make sure I had everything I needed. They made my day the best it could possibly be. They love what they do and it's obvious in every single thing they do. I cannot recommend them highly enough, you will be so glad you booked them, trust me. -

As you likely already know, getting married can get expensive!! My advice is this: HIRE. A. WEDDING. COORDINATOR. We hired Details and Lace for our wedding and we are SO GLAD WE DID. We were not sure at first if we should hire a wedding coordinator but because we are not from Charlottesville, we ultimately decided we probably needed extra help. After speaking with Melanie from Details and Lace, we knew she was the right person to help us have the perfect wedding. Melanie and Makayla helped us out every step of the way. For example, they gave up their time on a Saturday to meet with us, pick out items at vendors, and strategize for week-of and day-of. Plus, Melanie was always just an email or phone call away. We were so impressed with Melanie’s organization and attention to details. I cannot stress enough how Melanie and Makayla CRUSHED IT on out wedding day. You just don’t realize how crazy things can get pulling a wedding off until you are in the middle of it. We can not imagine how we would have pulled the wedding day off without Details and Lace! -

Above and Beyond Excellence!!
If you’re looking for a wedding coordinator, look no further! Melanie with Details and Lace is more than exceptional. Her dedication and hard work made our day more than incredible. From fixing a bridesmaid’s broken shoe to taking our vision and making it a reality, Melanie is the best thing you can invest in for your wedding day! She even went as far as to giving me the jacket off of her own back when I got cold during pictures. Our guests were also so impressed by Melanie’s hard work and bubbly personality. My husband and I would highly recommend Melanie with Details and Lace to anyone planning their big day! -

Wedding Dream Team
Details and Lace was hands down one of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding. Melanie was so responsive from the very start and always eager to step in and recommend other vendors and help with any and everything wedding-related. When COVID-19 started altering our wedding plans Melanie and Details and Lace reassured us every step of the way that they would pull off our dream wedding, and they did! Melanie reassured and calmed any nerves, helped problem solve any problems that arose, worked with our venue and vendors to put together our dream wedding. Her team handled the wedding day like champs; calming nerves as needed, repairing dresses, organizing scattered groomsmen, ensuring we had food and water as needed. They helped bring our decorative vision to life, even letting us borrow an aisle runner, table numbers, and battery operated candles! We are so grateful to the Details and Lace team, they helped keep us focused on what truly mattered, getting married, by taking on the rest of the wedding day craziness. If I could given them more than 5 stars I would. -

Melanie was amazing throughout the whole planning process! Despite the pandemic, she made my dream wedding come true!! Everything was put together so beautifully and I couldn't have been happier. She put my mind at ease and COVID did not stop me! My bridemaids complimented how she killed it during the day of the wedding! She especially helped throughout the day soothing the nerves of my most anxious family members, reminding them to just breathe and to not stress about anything since that was her job! She came prepared with what she calls an her "emergency kit" for anything we may have forgotten for the day. Please dont stress over a wedding during this time like I did, everything will be ok! Hire Melanie and she will make your wedding so magical and will be there for you every step of the way! I will certainly be recommending Melanie to all my friends getting married !!! -

We cannot say enough good things about Melanie. Her attention to detail and her genuine care and concern about our wedding really meant the world to us. She was so fantastic throughout this process and really made everything about our experience a total dream come true! Her response to emails and phone calls was prompt, and she made is feel like she was genuinely invested in our wedding day! Her ability to remember things is unsurpassed; her kindness and warm smile was contagious and her enthusiasm made us feel like our wedding wasn't just another job for her. Because of her we were able to relax and give her our trust to handle our day-which went flawlessly thanks to her. Melanie is an absolute treasure! As the mother of the bride, and admittedly somewhat of a control freak, I had to have someone I trusted implicitly to handle all of the details. Melanie took the time to understand exactly the vision my daughter had in mind and what mattered most to all of us, and she just ran with it. Every little detail was handled, and anything that came up during the course of the day she took care of--little things that went awry were taken care of so quickly and efficiently that we didn't even know they happened. From the ceremony and reception layout and decor, to the introductions, to the music and timing of speeches and dances, as well as everything in between, Melanie took care of everything precisely the way we wanted. She's a complete pro. Without a doubt Melanie was the best money we spent on the entire day. Couldn't recommend her any more highly! I'd give her six stars if I could. :) -

My wedding day would have been much different without Melanie. She took all of the stress that relates to a wedding away the entire day. I was able to sit back and truly enjoy my day to the fullest. We have 3 kids so it made the day even more hectic and she rolled with it all. Even when my sweet 3 year old asked her to take a picture with her in the photobooth she did, and my daughter absolutely loved it. There were a few glitches in the day, non of which were Melanie's fault, and I never knew. I cannot urge you enough to reach out to Melanie for your wedding, there is no way you will regret it. Thank you so, so much for everything over the last year and a half leading up to the wedding. You were simply delightful! -

Working with Melanie made our wedding planning experience and the celebration the day of even more special! She is kind-hearted, supportive, detail-oriented, friendly, and she absolutely genuinely loves her job and the couples and families she works with-- that is SO evident!! Melanie made sure our day ran smoothly from start to finish, and that my family members and I had plenty of help/time with her prior to the wedding to ask questions (from the time we hied her 4-5 mo. in advance all the way to the day of) and hash out details. She had great insight and organization/planning skills, but also was sure to focus on making the day exactly what my husband and I wanted it to be and helping our vision become a reality! I also loved having access to the Aisle Planer software through her. I think that you get much more than what you pay for if you choose to work with Melanie. She is now like a family friend more than just someone we hired to provide us a service, and for that we are so grateful. :) Thank you, Melanie, for absolutely everything!!! We love you!!
