Where to start? The incredible photos and videos only tell part of the unforgettable story, but the truth is, with pure heart, determination and creativity, Cristina and her teams planned and executed the most beautiful and “epic” wedding experience that we have ever been a part of.
This is no small feat. The ceremony was staged high on a remote cliff overlooking the pacific and had never been used for a wedding until that day.
The reception was set, 20 minutes south, in our good friend’s breathtaking beachfront terrace, which, sticking with the theme, had only been used for her sister’s wedding over six years ago.
The music was three-fold. Ricky played acoustic guitar and sang at the ceremony and during dinner, an awesome beach-style drum circle was going off as the guests arrived from the ceremony and the Dj hit a home run with a perfect mix of salsa and wedding favorites.
The flowers, the handmade bamboo ceremony arch and magical table settings were radiant and graceful. The lighting and candles were sublime and crazy-romantic.
Ricardo rocked the bar(s) at both the ceremony and the reception (cantaritos, margaritas, massive amounts of mezcal). The late night, handmade barbacoa tacos arrived at the perfect time.
Cristina pulled this extraordinary event by focusing on the timeless themes of friendship, connectivity and energy.
Our wedding will remain, without question, the greatest and most profound day of our lives.
Thank you, Cristina! You are an unbelievable friend and a bad-ass wedding planner:) And thank you to everyone who gave their time and heart that day. We felt it.

There will be an overwhelming number of choices to make when planning your wedding in Quintana Roo… deciding to choose Cristina Maldonado as your wedding planner will be your easiest, and your best.
When we looked back at the wedding planning process, there were things we would do differently, but the first thing we’d do again would be hiring Cristina.
The same effervescent, energetic, patient, enthusiastic, and passionate woman we met in our first interview was the partner who showed up tirelessly in every planning meeting that followed. Who met us the first time in Mexico after innumerable video calls and was exactly the same personality we’d gotten to know, in person.
Planning a destination wedding in a foreign country is a complicated challenge. Done right, it is a beautiful experience in a magnificent locale. Having the right team to realize this is crucial - and that’s where Cristina and her team came in.
Cristina made herself perpetually available, showed up whenever the bell was rung, and stood up to challenges before we even knew they’d arisen. We weren’t her only client, but she made us feel like we were her biggest priority.
If you’re seeking a wedding planning partner, you simply will not find a more sincere, professional, and unflagging teammate than Cristina. Your planner is an incredibly meaningful choice; we made the right decision, and hope you will too.

Can we do it all over again?
Planning a wedding from a distance can be challenging, but having Cristina was a game changer. We are not from the Quintana Roo region, so we had no reference on vendors, quotes and what the ideal timeline was.
Cristina helped us with every single detail we had, and it was a lot. Our wedding had 100 guests traveling from 2 different countries. From venue, to transport, to string lights, to translation and everything in between, Cristina was able to bring our ideas to life on our most special day.
The whole weekend ran smoothly with everything working out as it should and our guests having the best time. And us? We had the chance to enjoy everything we’ve been preparing on our weekly calls for the past 8 month and holding on to every fleeting second.
Cristina and her team did an incredible job coordinating everything so all we had to do was enjoy and be present in that moment.
Pame, thank you for being there for us and everything you did for all of us in the bridal party as well! Your help was so important!

The best wedding planner we could have asked for
If you are getting married in Mexico, especially in Cancun, stop searching right now. Cristina is the wedding planner you want by your side.
Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming, but planning one in a foreign country is a completely different level. Cristina guided us through every step with expertise, patience, kindness, and genuine heart, and we truly consider her family now.
From the very beginning, she tackled every challenge we threw her way, including budget changes, shifting priorities, and countless ideas, and she pivoted seamlessly every single time. We even had to make major last-minute venue changes, and she handled everything with such calm and control that you would never know anything had changed. She took our vision and brought it to life perfectly. I still don’t know how she did it, but it felt like she could even control the weather, that is how flawless everything turned out.
What truly sets Cristina apart is that she doesn’t just plan a wedding, she cares for people. She supported us emotionally and mentally, and she supported our families as well. She went above and beyond to ensure that every one of our relatives made it home safely after the wedding. She even helped us navigate the visa process so that my family from Venezuela could attend, something we are forever grateful for.
She knows the wedding world from every angle because she used to work on the vendor side, and that experience shows. She is incredibly well-connected, and no matter what we asked for, from a last-minute décor idea to a flower-preservation company, she had someone trustworthy and reliable. She negotiated our contracts, respected our budget, kept things under budget, and fought for our vision like it was her own.
Cristina is kind, patient, passionate, organized, creative, and the ultimate problem solver. She supported us before, during, and after the wedding, and she made sure that our day was not just beautiful, but meaningful, seamless, and unforgettable.
We are so excited for the day she gets married because we will be there cheering her on. That is how much she means to us.
If you are overwhelmed, unsure, or simply want someone who will make your wedding day truly magical, Cristina is your girl. When it comes to the most important day of your life, the one day you do not get to do over, you want someone like her fighting for your vision and guiding you every step of the way.

Cristina was truly a dream to work with from start to finish! She helped me with absolutely everything I asked for and went above and beyond to make sure no detail was overlooked. She was incredibly quick to respond, and made the entire wedding day run perfectly smooth.
Not only was she kind and attentive, but she also worked hard to find creative solutions to help keep us within our budget without sacrificing the vision we had for our big day. Dream team
Only regret, not hiring her SOONER. She is amazing, her work & team speak for themselves. Cristina is truly such a gem, she was recommended my photographer and immediately knew she was the right person. So much so, my family could not stop praising her and her team. From the wedding rehearsal 2 days prior- days following my wedding.
I had my wedding at Xcaret and hired her 8 weeks before. If something went wrong that day, I certainly did not know it then. They did a phenomenal job.
Cristina was game on from the moment our contract began. She worked hard and was available for all my questions and never made me feel silly or bad for being a bit type B and unorganized myself. Thank you for all your love, and attentiveness. My wedding was an absolute dream come true. And I can confidently say I would likely not feel the same if I did not have her!

If you don't have a wedding planner, hire Cristina IMMEDIATELY! She will save you from countless issues and remind you of all the small details that you forget for your wedding.
Simon and I had a traditional Hindu ceremony with a fun twist. Our 3-day wedding had 4 events and each one was so perfectly executed by Cristina and her team. Throughout the planning process Cristina kept us on track and coordinated all big ticket items with the hotel. Our hotel venue was very unresponsive and didn't provide strong answers but that didn't stop Cristina from chasing them down to get us the answers we needed when we needed it. From conception, planning and execution as the bride I didn't have to think twice if things were getting done on the backend. I showed up to all 4 of my events worry free and knew that everything Cristina and I had discussed was being executed seamlessly and perfectly!
I can't say enough amazing things about Cristina, she is professional, kind, knows her sh!t and gets the job done. In all my panic and worry she has kept me level headed and grounded. She has been an absolute dream to work with and you will truly find a friend in her throughout this process.
If you're thinking of hiring a Wedding Planner (and I HIGHLY recommend that you do) Cristina will ensure that you have the best wedding ever, stress free! -

Cristina was the key to making our wedding stress free! She really listened and took the time to understand what our definition of a dream wedding was and truly delivered! We loved the fact that she was local so she worked with local vendors and got us the best prices. Since we live in the US, we had virtual planning sessions where Cristina came prepared and showed us different options. The day of the wedding was truly stress free, she came early and worked with all the vendors to set up, we didn’t have to lift a finger. We really enjoyed working with Cristina, she has a bubbly personality and a great sense of humor! We would highly recommend her wedding planning services! -

The Best Wedding Planner
Cristina was wonderful and made our big day perfect. From beginning to end, she handled every small detail to help take the stress off of my husband and I and allow us to enjoy the process. We live in the US and we planned a trip to visit Cancun before the actual wedding weekend, and she even coordinated every part of that weekend - all the way to picking us up at the airport. She was quick at replying to emails/messages, but it is just difficult planning a wedding in a different country - often times responses from vendors would take longer to receive, but that was completely out of Cristina's control. Cristina completely understood my vision for the day and helped bring it all to life! Overall, I couldn't recommend Cristina and her team enough. -

Cristina was such a humongous help in the entire planning process. We weren't able to visit any of the Playa del Carmen resorts beforehand, so we fully relied on her recommendations and ended up having the most amazing experience. She vouched for a resort with good food, drinks, location, flexibility with vendors, etc. and it ended up exceeding our expectations. Her day-of help was also so amazing, she brought assistants with her and I don't know how we would've done it without her. It went so smoothly, and thinking back that is truly because she was there and thought of all the little details so we could relax and enjoy the day with our friends and family. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat! -

From day one, Cristina was very helpful, professional, informative, and understanding. The packages she provided us were very reasonable and affordable. The venue was very nice and fun! Cristina was there for us whenever we had questions or concerns, and she was able to explain things to us to help us have a better understanding and put any worries we had to rest. The experience was wonderful and we did not feel alone in our planning, and my wife said, “it felt like planning your wedding with your bestie!”

Cristina fue la persona mas encantadora, profesional y flexible desde el primer dia. Sin conocerme me ofrecio un servicio excelente. Es una mujer mega trabjadora y atenta. Nuestra relación profesional acabo siendo una amistad que sigue aunque haya terminado el evento. Zero regrets working with Cristina's team
We hired Cristina for her partial wedding planning services 1.5 years before our wedding day, since we already had the venue and a few vendors booked. We had two wedding events at three different venues (welcome dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception) which went really smoothly thanks to Cristina and her team.
Pros: Cristina helped us save $1,200 USD in external vendor fees and always kept our budget in mind. She never pushed us to spend more or do anything we didn't want to do. There were some last minute vendor cancellations that happened within 24 hours of our wedding events and Cristina pulled out all the stops to avoid any major issues! On the wedding day, Pamela from Cristina's team was incredibly helpful to me (the bride). She stayed close by all day to assist with anything I needed. I didn't even ask her to, but she held my phone and took some photos throughout the day, made sure the back of my dress looked aligned and perfect in photos, and provided water / a fan whenever I needed it. Everyone that we met from Cristina's team is pretty fluent in both English and Spanish, which was so helpful for a couple like us planning a destination wedding in Mexico.
Cons: Only sharing one "con" to give honest feedback because I found Cristina through WeddingWire and thought the detailed reviews played a huge deciding factor in hiring her. There were a couple of minor details that were missed during the reception, but it didn't change the overall quality of the wedding day and we're still really happy with how everything turned out.
Having Cristina and her team to help us throughout the process made everything so much less stressful. Even if you love planning events and think you can handle it on your own, having a team to support you for this special milestone in life makes such a huge difference — especially so that you don't need to sort our any curveballs on your own while you're supposed to be enjoying every moment with your loved ones. -

Cristina is very knowledgeable of her area. The wedding day went according to plan and her staff were very helpful. She can get very busy during more popular times. Overall, she is a good planner if you want to have your wedding in Riviera Maya.
