So glad we chose Cottontail!

Sharif and his entire team were so great to work with. Their attention to detail made our day everything we imagined. We had so many questions and requests, and Sharif was sure to address each one with patience! This team is talented and experienced in the wedding industry... We were so happy we chose Cottontail and would highly recommend this venue!

Above and Beyond

My husband and I got married at the Cottontail in 2021 and loved the experience. Matt walked us through every step in the process as well as helped us with additional items outside of the Cottontail’s responsibilities. The venue was perfect for us - not only was it beautiful, but the Cottontail services were above and beyond any other venue that we looked at including those that were double the price. We highly suggest that if you are looking for a professional and relaxing venue that you use the Cottontail. They played a big part in making my wedding exactly what I wanted, and I am truly grateful for everything Matt and his staff do.

Ten Year Vow Renewal

This was an awesome venue. Matthew was very responsive. We chose this location because we could bring whatever vendors we wanted. Great price. We had the venue for about 12 hours. I would choose this venue again. No regrets.

Amazing...simply...amazing!

Cottontail Weddings and Events made my weekend absolutely amazing and stress-free. Matt made sure the venue was set up exactly how I wanted. He provided a spreadsheet of any extra decor that I wanted to use that they specifically own. The venue had a modern, industrial feel with natural beauty and didn't need many decorations but we brought them anyways to make it more personalized. Cottontails helped in replenishing the cupcakes as each flavor would get low. He also provided plates and napkins and a separate expense but made the set up for the rehearsal dinner and reception easy and stress-free. They were absolutely amazing and I can't recommend them enough!! If I could give 10 stars, I definitely would!

A Spectacular Experience, 9001% Would Recommend

Matt and I are personal friends, and he contacted me as soon as he learned of my engagement. When my wife and I visited the venue, I looked at her in the eyes and we both knew we loved Cottontail for its unique personality and environment. Whenever we had a question (and we had many random questions), Matt was quick to answer. He helped make the planning process as smooth as it could be, and he and the staff were the real MVPs during the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. They set up the wedding exactly the way we envisioned it and helped make the transitions throughout the wedding day as smooth as possible. Additionally, my father told me about how Matt went out of his way to accommodate and care for him when his asthma acted up an hour before the wedding. Matt's generosity, composure, and attention to detail are truly unparalleled, and we are truly blessed and thankful for Matt and his team for all of their hard work and dedication. I certainly would recommend Cottontail to anyone who lives in Virginia or North Carolina and is planning to have a wedding or host a special occasion. Most of our family and friends hail from all across the state of NC, so it was a manageable drive for most of our family and guests, especially if they lived around Greensboro. For reference, Danville is approximately 2-hours from Charlotte (my hometown) and 1.5-hours from Raleigh. Thank you again to Matt and his team for making our wedding a surreal, unforgettable day full of memories that we will surely cherish for the rest of our lives.

Everything we could have asked for, and more!!

I am so happy I chose Cottontail! Everything was perfect – the venue, the staff, the location. Matt and his team went above and beyond during every step of the process, from vendor recommendations to seating plan layouts, and Matt even built the wooden frame for the altar. My husband and I love Danville's River District, so Cottontail was the perfect setting with its historic architecture, exposed brick and wooden beams. It was an added bonus to have Ballad Brewing attached to the building so we could utilize their space for the cocktail hour. Our guests, even those who traveled all the way from England, had nothing but amazing things to say about the day, and I cannot thank Matt and his team enough for helping to create such a wonderful memory!

Perfect for a November wedding!

I was so blessed to be able to have my wedding at Cottontail! From the moment I got engaged, I was on the hunt for the perfect venue, and Cottontail exceeded my dreams and expectations. Matt was professional, supportive, and accommodating from our first tour all the way through my wedding day. He was always available to answer my questions, provide assistance, and give me tips on how to make my wedding day perfect. Matt's team of professionals and connections to outside vendors helped make my dream wedding come to life! I would highly recommend Cottontail to anyone looking for the perfect, cozy wedding venue for their special day.

Elegant facility located in a prime location for weddings, celebrations, or whatever first-class event you are planning. From the river district location to the beautiful chandeliers and the rustic feel of the building, it stands apart from any venue visited in this area. My wedding held on August 22 amid Covid-19 went off without a hitch. Matt and his staff are the greatest. He is composed, calm and easy to work with. He enjoys what he does and works hard at helping you get through that day. The venue might be considered a little pricey, but after adding up all the expenses of the rental of chairs, linens, setting up/breaking down, etc., it is worth it, just to pay one fee for everything. I recommend the Cottontail highly.

Excellent Place for parties

Matthew was so patient with us, had my godson baptism/bday party there and he helped us decorate since we were running late., stayed to see if we needed something. The premises are very clean and very very nice. Love it so much we scheduled our son baptism party with them. I’m so sure all our big party will be at cottontail.

Venue of My Dreams!

I absolutely loved my experience with Matthew and Cottontail. From day one, I was so taken with Matt. He is so warm, welcoming, and calming. He was there for every step of the process and then some. I can truly say that he went above and beyond for us and he made our wedding day so so wonderful. I remember walking into Ballad next door to anxiously await our first meeting with Matthew. Seeing the mirror image of Cottontail in Ballad got me so excited, but entering Cottontail itself was breathtaking. The renovations that Matthew and his wife did to this space are absolutely gorgeous. The efforts that were put into making this venue so beautiful are the same efforts that Matthew and his team put into each and every event they host at Cottontail. Cottontail was the first venue that we visited and I will tell you that it is a stunning venue, but Matthew was the reason we were so taken with Cottontail and he is why all of the other venues that we visited afterwards did not hold a candle to it. They did not give us the same feeling of excitement, confidence, and comfort that we got from Matthew. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Through the year of planning Matthew became our best resource and he had such a major role in our lives and our whole wedding planning process. Matthew made wedding planning and execution easy. Most couples have never done this before and there is no measure of how stressed and overwhelmed the process of planning a wedding makes you feel, but I will tell you that Cottontail is the best decision that I made. If you want a beautiful venue with a vendor that truly cares about you, does anything they can to help alleviate your stress, and someone with great experience, Cottontail is your venue!

Wedding of our dreams

Cottontail was beyond amazing! The venue is gorgeous and Matt and his team are so hospitable. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and everyone is still raving about the venue and how amazing it all was. Not to mention the amazing places to be photographed on your big day! I could go on forever about how amazing it was!! Highly recommend this venue for your next event!

Amazing Venue

Matthew and his staff was amazing! There are not enough kind words I could say about them and this venue! They were absolutely amazing! They made everything so easy and smooth! They helped make our special day everything we could have ever dreamed of! We would recommend them anyone!

Amazing Venue

Cottontail Wedding & Events is an excellent choice for a wedding Reception venue!
The venue is stunning, centrally located, and has countless decorating possibilities. Matt was there for us every step of the way in the planning process and carrying out everything the day of! He was there first thing in the morning to help us unload and offered some of his own pieces for decorations (which we loved!) He even went to the store and got us additional small supplies we needed (such as command strips). He was there throughout the dinner and the party, making sure everyone was happy, ice was filled, trash picked up, and all was running effortlessly for us and our guest. Our guests have continued to rave over how remarkable the reception venue was. My husband and I are so thankful we picked Cottontail Wedding and Events for our wedding reception venue! It could not have been more picture-perfect!

I can NOT write a review that will do this place justice. Not only is the space beautiful and incredibly versatile, but Matthew and Shelley will go out of their way to make sure your day is beyond your wildest dreams. Living in Charlotte, my husband and I decided to look outside of our local area due to the outrageous average cost. I stumbled upon this venue and could not have been happier. The space looked incredible and Matthew went out of his way to meet every time I was in town. He even met with our officiant to get him bonded in the state of Virginia so that he could marry us. Amazingly helpful!

The Cottontail staff was amazing to work with! Matt is super friendly and helpful. He was able to work with us to help us bring our vision to life and was willing to let us try some new things that had never been done at the venue. The venue itself is beautiful and was the perfect setting for our special day! We would highly recommend holding your events at Cottontail!

The perfect venue!

I highly recommend Matthew and his team. I planned everything for my wedding from out of state and Matthew made it so easy. The space is absolutely gorgeous and they will do anything to make it perfect for your special day. I couldn't be more pleased with how our wedding turned out. highly recommend Matthew and his team.

Say yes to the venue!!!

Matt and his team are excellent!
The venue is absolutely gorgeous and the setup makes for a great flow throughout. Seeing the room transformed from ceremony to reception in just a few moments is incredible! Completely surpassed our expectations!

We opted out of hiring a wedding planner, looking back it may have been helpful. However, Matt stepped in and helped us through the entire process. From assisting with local vendors to open wine at the rehearsal dinner. Our friends and family are still raving over our wedding!

Absolutely perfect!

My husband and I absolutely loved having our wedding at Cottontail Weddings and Events. We loved Cottontail for two main reasons: the venue space and the staff.
1) The venue is absolutely stunning! The brick walls, wood floors, and chandeliers create a perfect blend of industrial and chic. In addition, the black tables and black chairs perfectly complemented that look. I repeat, Cottontail is STUNNING.
2) We loved working with Matt and his staff! Matt was incredibly kind and helpful through the whole experience. He went above and beyond to provide us with a wonderful day!
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Cottontail and I would happily recommend them to anyone in the area! Thank you for everything, Kris and Amy.

Cottontail hosted an elegant evening engagement party for 75 guests in July 2017. The venue is a renovated Virginia tobacco warehouse and the interior ambiance is the best part. Original dark wood beams from floor to ceiling, exposed brick walls, pinewood floor and tall ceilings with stunning chandeliers.

The venue is spacious (we could have easily fit 2x as many guests) and we had many options for setting up the flow. There are two artfully handmade bars, complete with details like silver foot rails, that can be moved anywhere you want. Cottontail provided tables, brand new Chiavari chairs, fresh linens and AV (speaker and microphone). The kitchen space is huge, more than enough space for our party, but it worked to keep all the behind-the-scenes food prep, well, behind the scenes. There is a sizable changing room that would be good for a bridal party, but I used it to store pocketbooks while mingling.

Having a brewery next door was a big hit. Once the engagement party was over our crew walked about 30 feet away and grabbed a few rounds of their craft beer. They have an outdoor beer garden that would be great for a daytime event, too.
