Rehearsal Dinner Catering

We had the best experience with Coastal Catering and Events! Joe was extremely helpful, responsive, and provided outstanding customer service. The food was incredibly delicious and all of our guests had positive things to say about the quality and quantity of the food. The entire process was seamless and we would highly recommend booking with them for all your catering needs!

Amazing and helpful!

The food was amazing

Coastal catering was amazing from start to finish. Super responsive. The cooks and bartender were amazing. The food was omg so good everyone told us how good the food was.

GREAT Experience!

We could not have been happier with the Is services provided by Coastal Catering. Joe Caldropoli Could not have been more hopeful or flexible and the food was fantastic.. Our friends are still raving is raving about the shrimp and grits and everything else they provided. Make sure you try the Pork belly pops they are out of this world. Joe made this the easiest part of the wedding planning process.

Fabulous food and rave reviews!

The food from Coastal Catering was beyond our expectations! The portions were large, the food was hot and our guests raved about it. Joe went over our menu in detail at our tasting. He made great suggestions and helped us come up with the menu to fit our event and tastes. They were fantastic to work with and very flexible. We also had them cater our rehearsal dinner and brunch the next day. It was one of the best decision we made for our wedding weekend. We highly recommend them!

Everything was great!

Joe and his team made our wedding experience 10X better! When you don't have to worry about the food or service, you can relax, enjoy and EAT on your wedding day! From emailing Joe and making changes, to meeting in person on last minute details, to having everything come together at the very end, everything was just great! We cannot thank Joe and his staff enough for having us worry free and of course the food was SO amazing! I was able to have my pasta station like I wanted, and my husband was able to have his favorite chicken dish! Our guest raved over the food and the service as well! Highly recommend for a wedding catering!

I called to rent a beach walkway, which they do not carry here. I received a call the following day from a gentleman at Coastal, he actually called me in Massachusetts to give me the number of someone that did carry them. If I ever need to rent again it will be with Coastal. Thank you so much for helping me have less stress.

We had two great experiences with Coastal Catering. Two years ago, our friends used Coastal Catering for their rehearsal dinner and wedding. The food was so good and memorable that we used Coastal Catering this year for our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and brunch. The food was absolutely amazing! Our guests raved about the food at all three meals, and there was more than enough food for everyone. Joe was very helpful with providing options and suggestions regarding the menus. He was easy to work with and was flexible with our times. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and what we got for our money. I would definitely use Coastal Catering in the future for a beach weekend and would highly recommend them for any event.

We have used Coastal Catering for two years and have received excellent service, excellent food and excellent value both times. Joe is great to work with, quite responsive and very flexible. Most importantly, the food is fabulous and there is always plenty of it. Our guests have always left completely satisfied. You cannot go wrong with Coastal!

We used Joe and his crew for our rehearsal dinner. The vast majority of our guests were from out of town (Canada, Europe, and the Northeast) so we decided on a traditionally southern menu--- shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and pulled pork BBQ sliders. We still have family and friends raving about the food (especially the shrimp and grits!) and our wedding was almost a 3 months ago! The staff was super friendly and efficient. We use Coastal Catering at many of our events where I work, and they always do an outstanding job. Joe is very accommodating and will help create a menu perfect for your event!

This was such a surprise how amazing these guys were. When we arrived for our tasting at the country club, my then fiancé and I were a little nervous about the appearance of the building and grounds and staff. Joe came out and all of our worries melted and it was almost like we picked him then and there. There is nothing pretentious about Joe's food, just fantastic cooking that is elegantly displayed with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency. After signing our agreement we were in contact with Joe multiple times to change numbers and change dishes and add/remove various elements of the meal. Joe was incredibly responsive and always accommodating. The day of the event his staff was very prepared and extremely professional. Everything tasted delicious and it all looked amazing. Thank you so much Joe for all your help and for making our day such a success!

Coastal Catering and Events was the best choice for our wedding! The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Like, I can't stress enough how amazing the food was! Everyone at our wedding was so impressed with the food. Besides being utterly delicious, Joe was great to work with and didn't bat an eye when the guest list changed 20 times. They were prompt and professional and super friendly when the food was delivered. Our budget was small and we paid less than $1000 to feed 35 people. We had grilled steak with chimichurri sauce, grilled chicken with tomato basil relish, shrimp and grits, roasted potatoes, grilled veggies, rolls with butter, a green salad with two different dressings, tea and lemonade, plus the chafing dishes, serving utensils, and dinnerware. I was worried there wouldn't be enough food for everyone, but we had plenty. There was even enough leftovers for brunch the next day. I highly recommend Coastal Catering and Events. You will not be disappointed!

Working with Joe and Coastal Catering was a dream come true for our beach wedding at Ocean Isle Beach. Being from out of state, Joe was easy to get a hold off, and always responded within a day to our email questions. He was so accommodating with any of our food requests, and even created appetizers that were not offered on his catering menu. We even set up an additional tasting prior to the wedding, where we were able to try multiple new items to help decide on our final meal. Whatever you want, Joe can make it happen! His team was professional on our wedding day and our guests raved about all of the food….ESPECIALLY the beef brisket! We used Coastal Catering for our fiesta themed rehearsal dinner, our reception meal, and our morning after brunch and all of the food was different and delicious. Being from a family who is in the restaurant business and who love food, Joe and his team were the perfect addition to our wedding weekend!!

I had several people tell me that ours was the best wedding food they'd ever had. The low country boil and BBQ were absolutely delicious and perfect for our island wedding. The servers were also top notch, as was the bartender. Joe was very responsive to emails during the planning phase and offered good advice as well. Highly recommend!

Joe and his team nailed our vision we had for our rehearsal and for our reception dinner. He took plenty of time to go over a plan with us and it played out perfect! We loved Joe and his team at Coastal Catering and Events. We booked them to cater both our rehearsal dinner and wedding dinner, and rented tables, chairs, and lighting from them, as well. Joe was easy to talk to on the phone, super fast in his responsiveness to messages, and very personable. We received rave reviews on the food, and although I didn't get to talk to many of his crew besides the bartender once or twice, they were all very nice and accommodating! WOW!!! Joe with Coastal Caterers is the BEST!!! His manner, is matched only by the quality of his food. We were blown away by his creativity and the flavors and seasonings he used. All our guests commented as well. He catered both our rehearsal dinner and the wedding, and even after eating his food 2 nights in a row (and leftovers during the days), one couple asked if he had a restaurant so they could go there for dinner another night! Joe is easy to work with, his wait staff are pleasant and very accommodating. Perfect vendor. Thank you!!!

Joe and his crew are amazing! My daughter was married this past weekend on Oak Island in the midst of a hurricane threat and terrible rain. Joe was so helpful when I had to change delivery times and find an inside venue at the last minute. Everything was delivered on time and the staff were all very nice and so helpful. The food was EXCELLENT, all of our guests were very pleased. I highly recommend Coastal Catering and Events.

I hired Coastal Catering to do the rehearsal dinner for my son and bride to be. I am in Ohio so the only thing I had to go by was the reviews I had read online.
The reviews were right!!! The food we had was delicious and more than enough. The groom and groomsmen ate the leftovers the next day while getting ready for the wedding.
The set up was quick and on time,
You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Coastal catered our wedding on Bald Head Island. Joe, his crew and his food were extraordinary. We selected a very varied menu and the taste, quality, presentation and value were all excellent. The serving crew was very professional, courteous and efficient without being the slightest bit intrusive. Everything went very smoothly. Every one of our guests was complimentary . We had a great deal of food left over and enjoyed it all week long. Very highly recommended.

Joe was fabulous throughout the planning of my son's rehearsal dinner on Bald Head Island for 70 people; prompt in answering my emails and working around my suggestions. The dinner was everything I had imagined it would be. The staff were courteous, helpful and couldn’t have been nicer! The food was delicious, the quantity was perfect and cleanup was effortless. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I would! We worked with Joe for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. He was so great to work with! Joe is incredibly organized, professional, creative and helpful. He knows the area and has experience which helped us with planning and flow. The food was amazing and he responded so quickly to any questions/requests. The careering staff for our events was very attentive and friendly. We could not have been happier with our selection!

Coastal catering was wonderful to work with! Everything from the first tasting (which was fun and delicious! :) ) to the day of my event was smooth and professional.

The day of my wedding it rained and we had to make a bunch of last minute changes (the event was to be held outside). The servers quickly made the switch and took care of setting up/decor inside as well.

The staff from Coastal catering went above and beyond in every way--helping families with small children serve their plates, refilling drinks--I could not have been any happier! All of my guests said it was the BEST food they'd every had at a wedding!

So glad we found Coastal Catering!

When I learned that my son and his bride would be married in a destination wedding on Bald Head Island, off the NC coast, I was thrilled but concerned about who to use for catering the rehearsal dinner. I knew no one in the area but thankfully the bride's mother gave me two names. Joe responded immediately and continued to be the first to respond with meal plans, prices, and set up suggestions. He has done many events on the island and his knowledge and experience calmed and reassured me at every turn. I cannot say enough good things about this man; prompt, polite, professional, dependable and always patient with my questions.

We communicated via phone only a couple of times the rest was done via e-mail . The night of the rehearsal dinner was a success. My family and other guest LOVED the food. Joe did a pulled pork BBQ buffet. Joe and his staff are awesome and set up everything quietly and expeditiously. As the dinner was winding down, I headed to the kitchen area and spoke with three of his staff to thank them for making the night such a success. To my surprise, they showed me where they had neatly and securely packaged up left over food and informed me it was mine to take back. They were so nice and helpful.

I would use Coastal Catering, again, and highly recommend them. I love ya, Joe.

We could not have been more pleased with Joe and staff at coastal catering and events. We had a tasting with Joe a couple months before the wedding and knew we had made the right choice. Everything was delicious and he was very helpful in figuring out exactly what we should order for a wedding our size. Our wedding day food did not disappoint. All of the food was extremely good, nicely presented, and we received a lot of positive feedback from our guests.

Joe is awesome. He is a really nice guy, and he knows how to make delicious food. We used Coastal Catering for our wedding. Joe provided cocktail hour appetizers, the bar, a buffet meal, the plates, silverware, napkins, tablecloths, glasses, etc. He has a great selection of colors for tablecloths and napkins, and doesn't charge extra for anything beyond white (some places do). His servers were attentive and many of my guests told me it was the best food they had all weekend, really delicious, etc.

Joe can work with your budget, and your tastes, and has great selections and advice. He made some maple bourbon glazed pork pops as an appetizer that my guests went crazy for. We also had stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, tuna tartar in edible spoons, and shrimp cocktail. For our meal, we had penne a la vodka, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, corn bread with honey butter (to die for!!), salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, mango chicken and steak in a red wine demi glaze. And - you get to keep your leftovers! I cannot emphasize enough how delicious this food was. Especially the corn bread with honey butter.

Definitely go with Joe! He knows what he is doing, is professional, can meet your budget and you won't regret it!

Joe makes incredibly delicious food. It was a healthy portion beautifully plated for all courses. He was very willing to discuss other options from what he has listed on his pamphlet. Joe was just all around wonderful.

Joe is fantastic! Talented chef and all around nice guy. I used him for my wedding in 2013 then my mom's surprise birthday party in 2014. He is very detail-oriented, quick to respond and very professional. His staff is friendly and was very helpful on-site during my mom's birthday party. His food really is amazing. He helped me pick a Caribbean themed menu for my mom's birthday and even gave me great ideas to decorate too. His contracts are very thorough so you know exactly what you are getting. He offers other services besides just catering. I used him to help me get linens for both my wedding and the birthday party and that worked out beautifully. Thanks Joe!

Joe provided such a great service. The horderves during the cocktail hour were delicious. Everything on the buffet was extremely good. During our original taste testing everything Joe fixed we wanted. I would highly recommend Joe

Joe and company at Coastal Catering helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect. One of my wedding guests is an international event producer who has put on some pretty high profile events (and is uber critical) -- he was highly complimentary of Joe's work, Coastal Catering took care of our evening pre-wedding reception, wedding reception and post-wedding brunch. Joe worked with me on price, set-up and food selection; the final product was a diverse, fresh and flavorful menu that accommodated multiple food allergies...and didn't require me to take out an additional wedding loan. :) The staff was flexible and lovely --- and really blended in with our small wedding party. Thank you!

Note that our wedding events were held in a 7-bedroom beach house on Ocean Isle. I planned it all from Chicago and went on intuition and faith after speaking with Joe a few times. We didn't try the food until the wedding weekend!! If you end up in the same situation, know you will be A-OK in Joe and company's hands. :)

Joe from Coastal Catering is AMAZING! When we met for our tasting we knew we had chosen the right caterer. He gave us a wide variety to try and he had so many great ideas/suggestions for us. We were fully confident in him and the food was phenomenal! We later asked if he could also cater our rehearsal dinner and he was more than happy to so. He was always easy to contact and replied to us promptly. Every single person at our rehearsal dinner and wedding RAVED about the food. We had many foodies on board and they just could say enough amazing things about the food. Everyone was fed and full at the end of the night and we still had plenty of left overs to enjoy after the wedding. I would recommend Coastal Catering to anyone and everyone. You will definitely not be disappointed.

When we met Joe Caldropoli at the food tasting, we had complete confidence in our choice of Coastal Catering as the caterer for our daughters wedding. He provided an outstanding menu and service for our wedding reception. We had compliment on top of compliments about the quality and food selection. We thank you Joe for everything. Your staff was outstanding and courteous and responsive as well.

The shrimp and grits were a #1 hit along with the margarita shrimp. But all was loved and enjoyed. I highly recommend Joe and Coastal Catering for any event.

Joe was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond what we contracted him to do in order to make sure that our day went perfectly. It started out amazingly during our tasting where every bite was just delicious, and the conversation with Joe was personable and great. He followed through with all of our ideas and the outcome on our wedding day was mouth watering! The buffet stayed warm, the guests stayed fed and we were very happy!

Joe was absolutely amazing!! We used him for 3 different events....rehearsal dinner/cocktail party, bridesmaid brunch, and the wedding reception and each time he never disappointed. He, the staff, his bartenders, were all great and the food was AMAZING!!!!!! we had so many compliments. He's also just a great guy to work with and is really approachable and helpful.

Ok let me start out by saying that Joe was simply awesome to work with! He is a very genuine, friendly person who made planning fun and easy. We had an amazing tasting a few months before the wedding and even got to take home left overs! Our guests LOVED the food, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants wonderful food and service at their event!

Joe was so incredibly helpful - even willing to go above and beyond for us. His food was delicious, a great value, and beautifully presented. He was quick to respond to every question and didn't seem a bit unnerved the many times I changed my mind about something! I highly recommend Coastal Catering and Events!

I'll be honest - I was terrified about meeting with catering vendors. There were a lot of options, and a lot of hidden costs, and frankly, a lot of really not nice people. I started emailing vendors nearly a year out from my wedding, and for many, it was like pulling teeth to get an email response. With Joe, this was never a problem. He was by far the most responsive, the most open about the costs and the tasting was out of this world. The day of the wedding, I was a little nervous because my venue is in the middle of nowhere with limited electricity and water, among other things, and I wasn't sure how the food would turn out under those conditions. Well, he blew me away. I had 230 people my wedding, and we had so many compliments on how great the food was. His crew was super nice and helpful, and I just couldn't rave about them enough!

Coastal Catering was fabulous for our wedding and reception of 200+ people. The food was deliciious and the staff was perfection. I would highly recommend Joe and his staff for any event, large or small.

Joe Caldropoli owner of Coastal Catering & Events did a fantastic job! We unfortunately had terrible weather and had to move 125 guests from outside to underneath the beach house we had rented. Joe maintained his cool in spite of the weather and me (mother of the bride) who started to stress a bit. He pulled it off beautifully. Food was delicious and not the usual wedding type food. Dessert bar was a huge hit as well. Highly recommend the shrimp n' grits!!

Joe was a great find - he really knows his food! He arranged a full tasting for us to sample, and when I had a major dietary restriction come up a few months before the wedding and had to stop eating gluten entirely, he was great about going over the menu and accommodating my needs. Everyone he brought was very professional, the setup was beautiful, and we got lots of compliments on the food!

Joe and his team at Coastal Catering are amazing!! From the beginning Joe was available to help design my menu and give me great ideas. My wedding guests are still talking about how awesome the food was! The staff was professional and flexible and especially accommodating when the weather did not cooperate. They saved the day with there positive, pro active attitudes. I would suggest Joe and his team to anyone no matter the size of the event. Thanks Joe!

This caterer was excellent! We received compliments on the food all night long. Joe was so flexible on the menu. They requested a budget and then generated an amazing menu that fit right into my budget. The staff members working the event were so professional. I got more for my money that I realized I was getting--the appetizers were carried around on trays--I didn't realize I was going to get such great service! The bartender was great, too. I remarked to some of my guests that he started making my drink when he saw me coming and my guests informed me that he did the same for them...he remembered what most people were drinking and he was personable, on top of it all! I really can't say enough good things about this caterer. I don't live in the area and since I moved down here recently, I didn't have any connections or any body I knew to ask about caterers, so I was really nervous to go with a company I knew so little about. But the reception turned out so much better than I expected. Thanks Coastal!

Joe is extremely talented. Our food tasted just as amazing when it was prepared for 250 guests as it was at our tasting for four. When we knew we wanted a family-style Italian menu, we couldn't possibly have gotten a better experience from any other vendor. Only feedback is that at the time of our reception, there were new servers to the staff who seemed inexperienced. Fortunately, Joe was on-site throughout the event to execute the meal flawlessly.

Coastal Catering was wonderful. They catered our wedding and the food was delicious. We are especially appreciative of Laura Ann who stepped in last minute as our event coordinator. I thought I could "handle" all the details myself but with her help the day went seamless and we were able to enjoy it fully.

Amazing food..even a year later our guest's still rave about the quality and selection of the wedding menu. Joe, the owner, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the catering business. I loved working with them. After attending our wedding, my good friend is using the same catering business, as the food was so wonderful!

Food was absolutely amazing with heartly portion sizes!! Delicious and easy to work with, flexible company.
Only complaint is food not served hot. Bridal party ordourves were served and got cold with no replenishment.

I was a little disappointed in the service we received for our recent wedding. My husband and I were so excited after our tasting and previous meetings with Joe. He worked with us to incorporate our favorite foods into the wedding menu and were very surprised at how affordable everything was. Unfortunately, Joe did not show up on the day of the event and his staff was not able to manage the event on there own. No one cut the cake or handed out the champagne for the toasts. Most of them stood around and had the event coordinator and her team do all the work. All the guest did love the food and said nothing but good things, its too bad that staff fell short when Joe was not able to be there.

Decent for the price

We went with this company based on price. If you are looking for something that is very budget friendly, this is a great company to use. I will say, the food is not going to be talked about the next day. None of my guests were very impressed. We got to the food over an hour after it was served (our own design) so I did not form an opinion based on that. I love the staff, they were absolutely friendly and professional. I was informed after the fact that they showed up at the starting time for the ceremony with in my opinion was late. I do not know all the reasons for this. Overall the food was decent and I had a great experience working with the company. Just know “you get what you pay for.”

Coastal Catering was a good choice for someone who wants to pay less but get average food quality. At our test tasting we could not have been more satisfied... the food was out of this world. However, on the day of my wedding it was the only thing I would have changed. We had an outdoor wedding in OIB. The food was brought 1.5hrs too early, and sat in the "warmers". After cocktail hour, the food was served and it was freezing. The food quality/taste was nothing comparable to what I experienced at my taste testing. If you are going to spend $2500 for average food for a party of 60 people, you might as well fork out the additional money and get good quality food elsewhere.
